46 St Clair Ave E #101, Toronto, ON M4T 1M9, Canada
The first dedicated brothless ramen restaurant on Yonge & St Clair, Midtown Toronto. We specialize in Mazesoba, a dry noodle dish from Nagoya, Japan. We add a unique twist to this dish by offering a house-made chili that enhances the original flavours in the bowl.
Megumi is hearty, filling and very satisfying. Very busy during the lunch service too so it’s a popular local favourite! We enjoyed the Unagi and original with ramen. Wish they gave me udon as I asked but not too fussed about it. Finished the sauce with some rice, as intended.
Beautiful food. Got the unagi (eel) - made nicely. This type of ramen doesn't come with a broth. You mix the ramen with the raw egg, garnishes, and the sauce. Busy place during lunch rush. Staff were kind. Relaxed atmosphere. A tad on the noisy side given the lack of sound absorption, but nonetheless lively. Will come again and try the donburi.
Highly recommended! Very cozy spot for a casual lunch/ dinner. Food is exactly as they show in the menu, very tasty and perfect for a chill day.
Wow, incredible brothless ramen. The spice levels are serious business, so be err on the side of caution if you can't handle spice. We got the meal for two which is a great value if you are hungry. You get gyoza, miso soup, two main courses of mazesoba (your choice of original, pork chasu, karaage, or tempura), hot or cold tea, and kuromitsu kinako ice cream with banana spring rolls. We were absolutely stuffed and could not eat anymore! Definitely a delicious spot and a unique concept of brothless ramen. Highly recommended!
They got bundle deals that comes with gyoza, desserts and drink! I got a level 3 zenbu mazesoba and they were the right amount of spicy and seasonings. The place is clean, quick service, and friendly staffs :)
First time trying this dry style ramen and it was soo good! Flavours are intense and the portions are good size too. I ordered the Original Mazesoba and it was delicious! There is also so much topping/sauce that they offer complimentary rice after you finish your noodles to go with it! Would recommend!!
We got the summer special set for two and it was delicious! It was our first time having mazesoba and we are eager to come back and try their other varieties. We got the pork chashu and tempura with ramen, both of which were delicious. The set also included a piece each of tempura, takoyaki, and gyoza, along with tea and dessert which were all very nice. Service was excellent as well. My only two minor complaints are that the dumpling wrapper of the gyoza felt unusually powdery and their tempura are fried using a different kind of batter that is much thicker and more dense than the typical tempura. The latter might just be my personal preference though.
We had a delightful dining experience at Megumi Mazesoba! Food is amazing! Their culinary offerings were exceptionally delectable, and the ambiance was both cozy and invigorating. Furthermore, the establishment is family-friendly, making it an ideal destination for individuals with children. The owner and staff demonstrated remarkable professionalism and courtesy throughout our visit. Based on this positive experience, we anticipate revisiting this establishment in the future. ❤️
Love this spot! Cozy vibes and delicious food.
Best dry ramen I had so far in Toronto. I had the Salmon Mazesoba and it was a delight! The staff is lovely and super patient! Thank you! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free option available
Great place for lunch. Service was quick and the food is good. Not too greasy and portions are just right.
Delicious food prepared well. Quick service.
Extremely delicious dish, don t be fooled by the simplicity . Also very filling! Currently there are deals that make this meal have even more value! But watch for the spice, it s not the usual Japanese spicy.
Food quality is decent. Tempura is just right!
Been here twice. Food and atmosphere is amazing. Service is good.
Yummy!
Food was great! Service was excellent. Definitely will come back again!!! Totally recommended
Great server, great food!
Cozy place with great food!
The food was really delicious. It was my first time here, and I really liked this place.
Everything was good. The food was the highlight of it all. Parking: Parking is nearby. Pay parking but worth it. Food : 5/5 |
Best mazesoba ever!!
Really good experience
FIRE SPOT, YUM IN MY TUM TYPE SHI
Love delicious, well made, cozy lunches here!
Love my delicious lunches here!
Great food and experience
Great food
Great ramen, very tasty definitely come back
Most excellent food and even better customer service, even for the vegetarians! Best veggie ramen I ever had, tried multiple options at other place but the ramen here taste totally awesome. Do try it. You wont regret it. Vegetarian options: Basically just 2 option one with mushrooms and other with tofu but both are pretty much the same, amazing!
Best Mazesoba in town! Simply one of the best places where you can find good vegetarian food. Do try their Udon . Food
Good food
Very creamy texture and balanced
Upon entering, I was greeted by cozy music and welcoming staff. The appetizer I got I ordered the Karaage Mazesoba, the sauce was perfectly seasoned, portions were good, noodles were a good chewy consistency. The desert was some ice cream with a banana spring roll with some drizzle and chocolate powder (i dont rmbr whats its called). The sweetness was a good balance and the spring roll was a nice mixture of hot and cold.
Food was great! Dietary restrictions: None Food : 5/5 |
A regular spot after work! A hole in the wall place with excellent service and even better food!
Really good quality noodles!!
Refillable hot tea with the combo menu!
It was really delicious and all staffs are really kind.
We love the service and the dry ramen noodle is very delicious and very reasonably priced.
Delicious mazesoba! Not very authentic but good nonetheless. Our waitress was really friendly and hospitable (I tipped more than I usually do ) I ordered the ZENBU MAZESOBA ($18): (5/5) [Spice level 4: signature spicy] Pork was SMOKY! Super fragrant, juicy, soft... perfect honestly. The ramen noodles were al dente and had a nice chew. Also loved that they were sooo generous with all the toppings I added a buttload of konbu vinegar, made it better. It wasnt spicy imo lol. If you finish your noodles and hv toppings, they can give a free scoop of rice to mix it in, makes the already big portion even bigger :)
Delicious mazesoba, fast service, and overall a great meal. Definitely will return!
Food here was fantastic. The rice at the end is the best part. Would definitely come back and bring friends and family!
Their original mazesoba was a good amount of food for a good price! They have a deal going on right now, buy 4 mazesobas and get 20% off. Would recommend!
Ive always enjoyed this take on ramen with little broth, and they make an excellent version. A great weekend brunch dish, but good any day of the week.
Very good food! Excellent service! I recommend!
The place is very cozy and the food is great! Will definitely recommend the place and will be back soon!
Amazing food and great service. Very unique dishes that are not often found in other restaurants.
Very cozy place with amazing food!
Delicious food, excellent service and atmosphere. It a must when visiting Toronto Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to kids. 5 Stars
Very cute interior. And super helpful staff. It s a true gem!
Great food, and nice clean restaurant experience!
Really tasty mazesoba. Really cute decor as well!
Great noodle and flavour!
Great food and nice staff! Authentic mazesoba!!
Very delicious and great service! Im definitely coming back!
Best mazesoba in Toronto! The staffs are excelent, the place is clean & cozy. The food is a little bit expensive but you get what you pay for. However, for the sake of god, please add more staffs. This is my third time eating here, there are always two people who works and seems the waitress were overwhelmed handling all customers..
The karage chicken mazisoba is really good and amazing. Try!
Chicken karaage mazesoba is really good. Good service and nice ambience.
The thought of a brothless ramen made me think of bland noodles. However, the way the mazesoba was put together with a runny egg, vinegar and chili gave me a flavour explosion. We enjoyed their apps and most especially, the takoyaki. The service was prompt and friendly. A must try!
Went on the weekends for lunch. Its like okay? We got salmon mazesoba and donburi. Took a while to come out and the okonomiyaki was slightly burnt. Not sure why it was rated so high though. Not saying its bad, but its been a month and there was nothing memorable about it in a good way.
Amazing as always! It was our daughters birthday and she picked Megumi for her dinner. Thanks to the staff for making it special! Well be back soon!
Portions for the vegan dishes can be on the small side, but the taste is excellent! Would highly recommend the new vegan BBQ mazesoba
Very lovely place, the people here are extremely welcoming and friendly and have wonderful service, making sure you re okay with your food and everything. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is very cozy, making you feel safe and comfortable. It s also a great place to hang out with friends. The food is also wonderful, has a nice spice and salt level to it. Would very much recommend! <3
They offer a bowl of rice at the end to mix with the remaining sauce, but there was no sauce! The noodles were dry and flavourless! It was a disappointing meal. The service was incredibly slow.
Had a nice chill night with a couple of friends at Megumi Mazesoba! I had the Pork Katsu Mazemen with lv 5 spicy level. The spice was just right and the Pork Katsu juicy and tender! The rice Kaedama after wards was amazing. Note: Since this is Mazemen, you need to stir it like you would a Bibimbap. Service was great and I had no complaints. Will definitely come back another time with another group of friends and next time try their level 6 spicy sauce.
From the moment I stepped through the door, the ambiance was inviting and charming, with a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The staff greeted me warmly and provided impeccable service throughout the evening, ensuring every need was met without being intrusive. The ingredients used were fresh and locally sourced, enhancing the dishes quality and taste. The chefs expertise was evident in every bite, demonstrating a deep understanding of culinary artistry and a commitment to excellence.
An absolute neighbourhood gem. The ramen here is so delicious that the craving for it can hit at any time!
Solid option for soba
We first came when my wife was pregnant- since the eggs are fully pasteurized its the only runny egg safe to eat while pregnant. We go all the time and its always super delicious. Our baby eats the white rice and we have the mazesoba... We dropped a toy here and they recognized us a month later and gave us the toy! Super nice. Very relaxing environment. Cant recommend this place enough. Dietary restrictions: Flexible for our fish allergy Kid-friendliness: Lots of high chairs and the calm atmosphere makes it perfect for us to hang as a family.
I recently dined at megume and was thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The attentive and knowledgeable staff ensured that our meal was a memorable one, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction.
The whole dish was too salty and the pork belly was very dry and chewy. We both tried the megumi mazesoba and thought it was just okay. It s expensive for what you get, compared to other ramen places.
the food is very delicious and the service is good. always successful Food
All the food is very tasty and delicious. Suitable for families and gatherings. The waiters are friendly and polite. The situation was very comfortable and made us really enjoy the meal. Thank you Megumi..
I came here for lunch on a Sunday. So not very busy. The ramen was so yummy. I ordered the unagi mazesoba with ramen medium spicy. The runny egg made the ramen tasted sooo special! It makes me wanna come back soon.
This is the best food I have ever had in my life. I crave this every day, and wish I could eat it for every meal. I have tried a bunch of their noodle bowls and they are all amazing. I don t go here often enough to try a rice bowl, as I always go with the noodles. I tried the brunch once and it blew my socks off, literally. This place is absolutely worth it for the normal price, but they also have great deals for happy hour and lunchtime. It is very fresh and quick (not sure how quick during busier times). The desserts and gyoza are also very good! The restaurant itself is very cosy and comfortable with multiple seating options and the ability to have larger groups. They also have a small patio out front. It is also wheelchair accessible, and they have two non-gendered bathrooms in the back, with one being more accessible with lots of space and a lower hand towel dispenser. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. They give you a little candy with your bill that is a different flavour each time (in my experience) and it is very delicious. Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian and tofu options, and one of the types of noodles has no egg. Dietary restrictions: You can pay extra for gluten-free noodles. Wheelchair accessibility: It s all on ground floor.
Poor food quality, and portion. But mostly the bad quality.
everything is good. will be back
Avoid if you like good Ramen. Worse than streetfood. Mazesoba was tasteless all salt garlic flavour. Better Ramen available from a dried package. Gyoza overcooked. I cant believe the high rating for this restaurant. Poor value too.
I think this place have the best dry ramen! Taste surprisingly good and makes you wanna go back there again! Food
I loveeeeee food in this restaurant! Its so yummy... nice ambiance and good service too. Love to come here again
will def come back <3
Amazing quality food. Best service in town. We tried vegan mapotofu and it was amazing. Its my me and my husband favorite weekend dinner spot. Definitely recommend.
Taste is not bad. But the price is a little bit more expensive than food.
A very nice little spot! Ive been here a few times and the owner is so sweet and delivers great service. The food is great! The mazemen has bold flavour and a good assortment of toppings for different textures. I especially appreciate that the vegetarian options have good flavour as well, since not all places can do a veggie broth so well. Highly recommend the vegetable croquette from the appetizer menu. Its fried fresh and crispy, without being heavy or oily. Eager to return when I am craving Japanese cuisine next!
Got food poisoning that lasted for 3 days!! . Hopefully the health inspector sees the way they prepare the food especially the raw egg, and other raw foods.
Had the Steak Mazesoba bowl. The beef was cooked to perfection. Noodles were excellent. The chicken gyoza was also very tasty. Highly recommended.
I had the original mazesoba with ramen, it was really delicious!
Absolutely love it! The texture of the ramen reminds me of Indonesian Chicken Noodle (Mie Ayam). I ordered the very spicy and it is the perfect spice level for me.
The go-to spot in the area for my husband and I, we re here every few weeks. Between the two of us we ve tried most of the menu and it s all fantastic.
This was my first visit at megumi mazesoba. It was delicious. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The noodles are so good. I am looking forward to our next visit. Service is not the fastest but worth the wait. Just keep in mind you will need a few extra minutes. Highly recommended. Bon apetit
Loved eating at this quaint little Japanese restaurant, conveniently located at Yonge and St. Clair Avenue, right across from the Yonge and St. Clair subway station. The Donburi rice bowls we ordered was very delicious and fresh. The servers were polite and friendly and we loved the quiet ambiance with soft background piano music. The prices were very reasonable too for the top quality food they serve. I would definitely go back here and would gladly recommend it to anyone who is in that area looking for some great Japanese food at a reasonable price.
The food is amazing, authentic megumi maze soba is delicious. The service is gorgeous. overall the place has quiet and relaxed. Definitely will come back! Food
Delicious and unique! Really service and the food is so good! Must try if youre in the area!
Lovely little quick and tasty Mazesoba spot. Good variety of options, including the ability to build your own Mazesoba. Spice levels can escalate fast, so be careful how aggressive you get. Authentic, if not at the most refined and of noodles restaurants, it s reasonably priced and quite good. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make a world of difference to the restaurant.
Ordered Posk Chasu Donburi. It tastes very good with a lot of pork meat on it - more than I expected. The ingredients feel like absorbed into the chopped little meat. The owner, Paula, is very friednly. She recommended us to try a dessert of tiny fried sweet Banana with vanilla ice cream on top with powdered brown sugar. That is how you should end the food.
Amazing, small individual own business. Paula was fantastic to speak to and the food was even better. Be sure to ask for the complementary rice with the ramen!
Excellent service and even better food. It was my first time trying japanese food, and it was the best place to do it.
A good place to have some really good food. Service is excellent!
very good
Best ramen noodles EVER !!!!
Update Mar 30, 2025 Came back and had the okinomiyaki this time as I was looking for something lighter. The pancake was crispy and tasty. Would get it again We ve been back a few times already. I normally get the Megumi. Good sized charsui pork. One soft boiled egg cooked perfectly. One onsen egg that turns into a delicious sauce when mixed. I switch between Very Spicy and Insane which should only be for those that can handle their spice! The mazesoba experience includes taking all of the goodness that remains after the noodles and mixing it with rice for a second dining experience! Polished it off as alway, and am a good full even as a fairly big eater. Will definitely be back! If you like flavourful food and noodles then you should try this! Back for dessert! Delicious!
When I look at the reviews here, Im genuinely puzzled by why the rating is so high. There is nothing special about the mazemen here and I found it an overall disappointment. - Sauce had no flavour and the garlic taste was overwhelming - Noodles were very basic - Chashu was diced into tiny cubes so theres barely any - Assorted tempura set was made from frozen ingredients. The gyoza was hard and not crispy. The shrimp tempura was awful: so tiny not fresh! It felt like it was left for a touch too long in the air fryer or oven. Honestly its a travesty that a bowl of noodles is $22 here. I feel like I would be more satisfied eating a packet of Indomie with my own toppings.
Ive been wanting to try this place for a while now and was not disappointed. Great food. The staff was great and attentive. The place was great. Would definitely come again.
They are very friendly and accommodating the food is yummy we are definitely going back. Kid-friendliness: Saw Some kids dine here eat here the owner is very friendly and accommodating. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair can access here they can come and dine
Got the karaage mazesoba (ramen and one level above spicy), sooo good! Comes with a small bowl of free rice to eat the leftover broth (they ask after you finish the noodles) Food : 5/5
Good food, excellent service. Recommended. I had the Megumi Mazesoba. Try their desserts too, I tried the Japanese Mille Crepe, tasty and very light
Love the food there. All their mazesoba is so good and flavourful. Was worried at first with little broth that it won t be as tasty. Their Mille crepe is also very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The all thing was only 20$ and it was tasty
From the moment I stepped into Megumi Mazesoba, I was transported to back in Japan. The restaurant, a stones throw away from Yonge and St Clair Ave E, offers a unique take on Japanese cuisine with its specialty in brothless ramen, known as mazemen. The Signature Spicy Mazesoba is a must-try, with its fresh chili adding just the right amount of kick to the flavorful dish. The noodles are tasty and chewy providing a satisfying texture. opted for the thick udon, each bite is a testament to the careful preparation and quality ingredients used. What truly sets Megumi Mazesoba apart is the friendly and welcoming service. The staff are not only attentive ensuring that each guests experience is memorable.
The food is great. Nice atmosphere
They have fantastic Milk Bread & Omlette breakfast sandwiches! The bread is incredibly soft, omlet is delicious, and you can add extra protein, like bacon, katsu cutlet, etc. Also, it comes with coffee! Really reminds me of Komedas Coffee restaurants in Japan.
Cute restaurant, very attentive to the food, friendly staff.
The best mazesoba I ve have! good value and the staff is always so friendly when I walk in You can tell they really take pride in their food and the quality of their ingredients. I highly recommend the megumi mazesoba, the chashu is so nicely charred! And the pork katsu sandwich is amazing!
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. A true gem. Paula and her team are amazing. You can feel all the love, thought, and effort they put into the quality and taste of their dishes and their presentation. They also make sure all customers have the best dining experience possible with friendly and professional service. A very worthy small business to support! Dont miss out!
Yummy
I absolutely love this place! Ive had the breakfast and a few of their different noodle bowls and every dish is delicious - whether take out or eat in. Its also really good value for money. Would highly recommend.
Honest, Generous and delicious I had the M3 on the menu( Pork Mazesoba) and shrimp tempura. The shrimp was fresh and wrapped with crunchy tempura. The Mazesoba was too good. The staff was very attentive and genuinely courteous.
Been here a few times, and today I had the karage mazesoba, which by far is their best dish - in my opinion. Loved all the different textures in the bowl: from the perfectly cooked noodles, the tender protein, and the crunchiness of the crisps. The sauce is also super tasty! Paula is probably the friendliest restaurant owner :) Always happy to see her in this cozy spot. Looking forward to try more of her innovation!
One of the best, if not the best, noodle spots I ve ever been to and will continue to go to. Atmosphere, staff, service, and food are all 10/10. They will ask if you want rice at the end, take it to finish your leftover oils and food!
Very nice restaurant. The food and service were excellent. I will definetly come back.
Best place for Ramen, Im a vegetarian and its really hard to find a place with tasty vegetarian menu. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. And they have so many offers going on all the time!
The mazemen noods were chewy, slurpy, tasty, coated perfectly in sauce and condiments. Kids loved it as well. Worth eating and returning soon with the kids, sorry no pictures, was too tasty.
Before and after mixing this is the best mazesoba I ve had in toronto! The owner is super nice too. Definitely recommend this place
Amazing restaurant!
Cute little shop, and great service. However, the prices are a bit high for the portions. The mazesoba itself was good, and the spice levels are accurate to my tastes.
Great spot. I love this style of ramen and the waitstaff is always super nice and attentive. The weekend brunch is also a fun addition to the neighbourhood offerings.
My favourite restaurant in Toronto. The food is magnificent and the prices are reasonable. The service is always great.
Amazing food and service. Great value and would recommend going on a casual date there! Loved the original mazesoba and eating the rice with the sauce after.
To be honest, I was literally happy and impressed with the service and hospitality. I had karage mazesoda and it was really good , to my spice level. Most importantly, the employee of the place was extremely nice . I was the last customer and after so many days I talked to someone this long with my heart out. If you like ramen with without broth but in creamy consistency, this is the place . I am surprised that I didn t discover this place earlier. 10/10 recommend
delicious food and delightful dessert accompanied with great service, very recommended noodle spot
One of the best noodle spot in Toronto! Love the atmosphere and staff was super friendly. Love how the onsen tamago adds a creaminess and umami to the noodle. Nice place to chill. Their dessert was also tasty. Overall worth the price and would recommend! Vegetarian options: Have vegan option as well
Megumi Mazesoba offers a superb dining experience with quick service, a clean ambiance, and a surprising variety of coffee options. The Megumi Mazesoba (M1) with its generous meat portions and udon noodles, paired with a delightful signature spicy level, was a delicious and filling choice. My wife preferred the Zenbu Mazesoba M3, which featured less meat and ramen noodles, also with the same spice level. Plus, theres a convenient Green P parking option very close to the restaurant, making it even more accessible. Overall, it was an exceptional experience, and well definitely be returning whenever were in the area. We hope to see more Megumi Mazesoba restaurants open in other parts of the city soon!
This place lives up to its reviews - delish food and attentive service. We got the megumi mazesoba, unagi mazesoba, pork gyoza, chicken karaage, matcha latte, sencha cold brew lemonade and banana spring rolls with ice cream. Everything was a 10/10 Vegetarian options: Eggless noodle options, tofu and vegan mazesoba Dietary restrictions: Peanut and nut friendly, gluten free
Amazing Ramen. Nice staff. Best in Toronto.
Go.
Food quality is at its finest. Staff has a superb service. If you are looking for an affordable and big serving meal, Megumi is the place to be.
Excellent staff, great ambiance, and most specially delcious food! :) :) its my 5th time already and the quality of their food and service is consistent
The restaurant is very, very enjoyable. It was closed during Covid. The new owners have created a new menu and atmosphere. I dropped in for a cup of tea with John Lea. He was also impressed. Very enjoyable food, tea and coffee. Try it. You will like it, if you have good taste, I assure you. And the price is right.
Amazing food, great service, great place! Would definitely come back!
Amazing ramen, the spicy sauce is best!! Will definitely come back again :)
The egg inside the sandwich is so good!! Their mazesoba spice reminds me of Indonesian bakmi :) would definitely come again
The most authentic and delicious ramen I got the chance to try different menu items and all of them are 10 out of 10, whether you are looking for something spicy or sweet, you won t regret it. The service is so fast and so friendly they make you feel at home. The atmosphere is also fun and unique!
Simply amazing and so delicious! Love the murals inside too. The mango cheesecake is a must!
Love this place! As a Mexican my spicy-ness level is hard to please but they it reach out. you have to try the thick and chewy noodles with all the variations of toppings. They also have different options for vegetarians
Its really delicious here!! The owner is so friendly and I want to come here again!!
There are both spicy and noodle options, so you can choose what you like. I think you can think of level 4.5 as Shin Ramyun. The food is delicious and the owner is very friendly.
Incredible food and a great vibe - and the daily specials are so worth it! Def would recommend some of the best food I ve ever had ever!!
Its a small but cute place. I wouldnt have noticed it if I hadnt been intentionally brought here. So Mazesoba means brothless ramen. That was interesting to know. I tried the Chicken Mazesoba with udon noodles. It was different from the traditional light soba I had expected as it was a little bit on the oily side. Overall, the dish had a great flavor profile, and the noodles were easy to chew. Service was great. Be careful if you want to try their house chili - a small portion they served contained a huge level of spiciness. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - NA/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 4.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 5/5 OVERALL - 4.3
Kid-friendliness: They love the noodles and arrangement of the dishes. Food
The Raman was really good and tasted great and its a very cozy and comfortable environment but must try for sure
Great mazesoba with tasty noodles, amazing service and atmosphere overall. They also give a complimentary bowl of rice. Side dishes were also delicious and affordable. They also sell good quality coffee like lattes, cappucinos, cold brew, and other drinks. Definitely would recommend!
Make yourself a favor and come try the new breakfast. Service and food is excellent!!
Excellent miso ramen soup, will be back again
Delicioussss, so tasty
Finally a mazesoba shop in toronto! Great value for good portion. We got the meal for 1 combo which came with an appetizer, mazesoba (we did original) and green tea! The noodles were flavourful - we got the signature spicy and it was quite spicy which we loved. The restaurant also provide complementary rice to eat with the leftover mazesoba sauce.
Checks review: this one got 250+ review, 4.9 star. Conclusion: still underrated. Japanese noodles come in many forms and tastes, the lack of a mazesoba for the enjoyment of a simpler palate in Toronto is confusing. This place solves the issue and more. The internal design is very pleasing to the eye, and the mix of the noodle is very much flavorful, just enough fat and salt to boost the meat flavor. I cannot recommend this place enough. If this restaurant is in the heart of the downtown, people would have to line up for it.
This has been my 2nd home the past couple of months. I really do feel at home. Paula, Andreas and entire crew are so welcoming. I have been there for dinner several times. The brothless ramen - Mazesoba is their specialty. The noodles are firm and toppings blend well together. My favourite is Unagi Mazesoba due to it being delicate, sweet & savoury. Also have had the Steak Donburi Mini-Bowl and steak was cooked to perfection. They are now open for breakfast. Andreas, the barista, is an expert in the craft of espresso beverages especially the cappuccino. They brew Monogram coffee which values a high sourcing model. As for breakfast, tried the Tamagoyaki with Pork Katsu. Tamagoyaki can be difficult to prepare however this is made firm, fluffy, layered and is true to Japanese-style. If you want something less filling, the Sandwich combo is a must-try. I highly recommend.
Great coffee in the morning and delicious mezesoba at lunch. Both are great for me as a crossing guard. The daily special is worth it, and the tea options are varied and delicious. Vegetarian options: Vegan mezesoba made with veggie broth. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options (i.e. gluten-free noodles) Kid-friendliness: Breakfast options (i.e. Taiyaki)
Really like the vibe here. Food was really good. Super nice staff!
Awesome value for breakfast - we enjoyed the tamagoyaki and okonomiyaki! The breakfast menu seems new. Highly recommend that folks try it out for something different from the usual breakfast places in the area. Service was excellent!
One of the few places in the city that serves mazesoba (brothless ramen), this would be one of the recommended spots in the area for a unique take on ramen. The mazesoba is generally filled with a mix of toppings depending on the bowl, and you can select your own noodle and spice level along with additional add-on toppings. While the portion size may be a bit small, it is recommended to ask for the additional bowl of rice to help finish any leftover sauce in the ramen. Their Megumi Mazesoba comes with a variety of protein including pork chashu, minced pork and braised pork along with two eggs, making it one of their most popular choices. They offer other mazesoba bowls which include salmon, steak and tempura. They also offer donburi bowls as an alternative, along with a daily special mazesoba based on the popular bowls on their menu. Staff were very helpful in recommending some choices and checking in during the meal. Wait time wasn t too long for the order either. Overall, would recommend as an alternative to many of the traditional ramen places in the city.
Got takeout from here. Taste was good but portion was on the smaller side given the price.
My first time here I was shocked at how amazing the food was! I have pasted that restaurant for so many years and I cant believe I had never been inside. Highly recommend!
Food was okay and pretty bland with portions being on the smaller side relative to price Service was amazing and staff were super friendly and helpful
Food is good but I came here around two months ago for lunch as a party of 1. It took me 40 minutes to receive my one bowl of Original Mazesoba. I only have one hour of lunch break so it felt like much too long to wait.
I have visited this place 3 times now and cant wait to go back. The food is delicious and the service is quick. The owner, Paula is sweet and came over to say hello, which rarely happens in Toronto!! The vibe of this place is cozy and warm - just what you need as youre tucking in to a bowl of mazesoba. I would highly recommend getting the megumi mazesoba; the portion-size is just right and the mix of flavours hits the spot!
This was my first time having mazesoba anywhere and I am adding it to my list of noodle dishes to make at home. I love noodles and for a broth-less ramen experience, it is really tasty. Just reading about the process of adding an egg yolk and mixing it to create a layer of sauce with the minimal sauce already in the dish is a really great concept. It makes me think of carbonara where eggs are just a great binder for a sauce. I was also able to get an extra bowl of rice to finish the rest of my dish. It is a really tasty bowl and I do apologize for not taking a before and after pic of my mayhem but I was so hungry. Sometimes you just have days where you gotta eat first before the camera.
I love this place for so many reasons. the food is so yummy , the service is excellent, they owner is a very kind person.
I live nearby and have dined here at least ten times. I am no Japanese cuisine expert but the style of food served here is like comfort food and easily enjoyed by anyone. Noodles is a savory sauce with green onions, corn, greens and minced pork with a poached egg to mix in is just delicious. This must be to Japan what chilli and garlic toast is in North America, the perfect cool fall day treat!
Good food, but portions were very small for the price, like fine dining portioning. Beef Noodle bowl was 20$, not including tip, same size of a instant ramen packet
My first mazesoba experience at Megumi Mazesoba was fantastic! The restaurants cozy ambiance and spotless setting made me feel right at home. Paula, our friendly host, recommended the weekend special, which turned out to be both delicious and filling. Despite hearing about small portions, I couldnt finish my bowl. Paula even graciously offered extra rice to complete my meal. Highly recommend Megumi Mazesoba for their warm hospitality and mouthwatering dishes.
So yummy
The place is very quiet and peaceful and the staff are so kind! I got the unagi bowl and my friends got the original and kaarage bowls. The hojicha iced latte was good too
Good spot near st clair and yonge Soupless Udon Food
Excellent ramen restaurant on Yonge and St Clair. We enjoyed it very much. Definitely going back to try other dishes in the menu. Looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!
Absolutely delicious noodles with flavour, spice, and superb texture. Megumi also has an atmosphere perfect for socializing while you enjoy your meal.
I very rarely leave ratings on a restaurant but this one came so unbelievably well that I had to. The ramen noodle was amazing!!! It s a combination of a perfect chewy noodle and a well-balanced sauce. I consider this as a comfort food from now on. I recommend you to try on their steak mazesoba. It s amazing!! I can literally eat this everyday!!
Everything s great; food, service, vibe, price, quality. 100% will come back and would definitely recommend to everyone!
If I could give more than 5 stars for this restaurant, I totally would. I ordered unagi ramen and it was sooo delicious. My friends also really enjoyed their salmon and karage menu. The service was excellent. The owner was super friendly and kind. Will be back for sure!
Great food and super friendly staff. Also really good daily deals. Food
Glad to finally have a place in Toronto serving this. Food tasted amazing and the restaurant itself was very nice and cozy
Love the ramen, cooked to perfection! Paula and Roy were very helpful and they had many different spice levels I could get! Very yummy Food
Come here all the time. Owner is lovely, the staff are lovely. The food is absolutely incredible! One of my favourite spots.
Love this, fantastic eating. And great company
Very cozy little shop that is close to a subway stop. The service was quick and friendly despite there only being one person when I went. The food is SO good and unique - you can customize your noodles and spiciness level. They also have a house made chili oil you can add. At the end, they offer rice to soak up any remaining broth. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I came here one day as we were out walking and were in the mood to try something new. The owner was very accommodating and exceptionally helpful and nice when we sat down to order for the first time. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming (albeit a little simple). Their food is quite unique for Toronto and provides an experience that will leave you happy and satisfied. We have been back there several times now and the owner recognizes my girlfriend and I, almost before we even walk in the door. The main dishes are interesting. It is unlike Ramen in the sense it does not have an overwhelming amount of broth. The toppings and flavor profile are similar though. Instead, you are left with a very noodle-forward dish, which has a high complexity of flavor and a creamy texture. When you are done your dish, the thoughtfulness of offering rice to be able to eat all those tasty remaining toppings and sauce is awesome. They is a fun vibe to the restaurant as you can either ask for the rice quietly or yell out loud in Japanese to signify you need you rice ASAP. An area of improvement would be the appetizers, I think there is definitely room for improvement, but they are solid supports to the star dish of the restaurant. I have had the pleasure of eating at some of the best restaurants in the world and I would say this was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a must-eat restaurant for me in Toronto.
Ive been to this restaurant twice and always have a good experience with the food and service. The food is simple, yummy with a good portion, and the price is reasonable. The service is fast and friendly. The owner is genuinely interested in making a connection with the customer. So, youll feel most welcome in here. I would recommend this place.
The famous mazesoba AKA dry ramen located near St Clair Subway station. Good price and quality, super friendly staff. Always busy during lunch. I ordered chicken katsu mazesoba, they are a new seasonal menu. Highly recommended.
Delicious I wanted to expand my review and say how this place is the best . Food is mouth watering so tasty I love everything on the menu . Always amazing. Service food is always delicious. And it s so good to have infreezing weather and warm weather too . Soothes the soul and mind . Love You Paula and love your restaurant:) yum yum yum
I had never heard of Mazesoba before, so I was hesitant to go inside. Im glad I did, though, as the mostly brothless Ramen was delicious. When you are done the noodles and there is a small amount of broth and topping still left in your bowl, they come and give you a small bowl of rice to mop it all up. Highly recommended.
My absolute fave noodle place in the city! The owner is so kind and food was truly amazing. I tried the original one this time. The noodle was very fresh and the sauce had a lot of umami I will definitely come back, it was 10000/10 experience!
good place to eat mazesoba!
Today was my first time coming to Megumi Mazesoba, and make no mistake, it won t be my last! From the moment I walked in, I was amazed by the ambiance of the establishment and how it was designed, then I was greeted humbly by Paula as I entered, and Steven from the kitchen then after. I ordered the house special and between the traditional thin noodles with meat and egg and other ingredients, along with the white rice that came with it after to scoop up the rest of the sauce, I have to say that I was incredibly satisfied with my meal. Broth-less Ramen in my modest opinion is really underrated, and this Ramen Establishment along St. Clair East is one I would recommend hold heartedly. Thank you for the wonderful experience, it was worth every dollar. UPDATE: Megumi Mazesoba was so good the last time I was there [the day before] that I had to come back again to order the same signature dish, (only this time with udon noodles). This style of noodle reminds me of the homemade style of pasta, my paternal grandmother used to make, which made the experience all the more worthwhile! Thanks again Paula and Audrey (from the kitchen) for great food, great service, and for once again, welcoming me back into the humbling and modest ambiance of your establishment!!! UPDATE: I returned once more recently when I heard that Megumi Mazesoba had gluten-free noodles, So I knew I had to give those a sample with one of their traditional bowls. Great flavour, very light, and what made me enjoy it more was the guilt free feeling of no gluten at all. Once again, this broth-less Ramen Establishment has impressed me with what they do best. It s clear that this place specializes for all clientele. Here is hoping that they are here to stay in business forever.
Was craving mazesoba and this place really hits the spot. The chasiu and tempura mazesoba was great! Will come back for sure.
Great service. My meat was chewy, and they noticed it and changed the meal completely! Deeply impressed!
