Been here twice already and did not regret it! If you like spicy Pork Bone Soup (our favourite) this place is perfect for you. I love the customer service as well, very accommodating and they really care about their customers. 5/5 ‼️
Loved everything we ordered! They start with 6 complimentary appetizers and loved each and every dish. Also miso soup. Served very small plates but loved the potatoes starter , the cucumber dish and the sweet potato noodles. Chicken katsu was good but a little dry for my taste but was good. Okonomi pancakes loved it. Chicken bibimbap was also very good. The tea was a little taste less though but overall such nice experience. Super fast service on a Monday evening and everything felt good.
Food was good and the service was really quick. Had the takoyaki as an appetizer and it was enough for two people. Servers were friendly as well. Would come here again.
had a wonderful experience at Kimchi Restaurant! Their customer service was excellent. I had initially ordered a dish as “no spice,” but it turned out to be spicy. When I mentioned this to the staff, they immediately replaced it with a truly non-spicy version without any hesitation. I really appreciated their responsiveness and professionalism. They also serve delicious complimentary appetizers before the main course, and you’re allowed to refill them once, which is a lovely touch. Throughout the meal, the staff frequently checked in to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Overall, the hospitality was top-notch, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place!
The food was very good, but the portions were a bit small and not great value for the price. Pros: All the dishes were flavourful and authentic. Cons: I ordered two basic dishes, and the bill came to over $70.
I ordered the tofu stew with seafood. It arrived in a timely manner and it was delicious. It was not too spicy either. The service was attentive and quick with the servers checking up on us often. This is my second time coming to this restaurant and I would definitely come here again.
The food here is so good! Highly recommend the seafood pancake. If you like spicy food, try the stews. The side dishes are great! The staff are friendly and courteous. Lots on the menu - must go back! Thank you!
A small but not bad Korean restaurant. From outside, the building is old and dusty. It doesn’t look too appealing, but inside is much better. It’s neatly decorated, clean, but dark setting. The waitresses are all in black dresses. Some of them serviced with smile, while some without. The food are good as they should be, no problem no wow. They also provide some small dishes before diner. The price for dinner is above average in town.
Delicious! Great service, willl definitely come back!
Disappointed after I have been in love with this restaurant. The tip is always an OPTIONAL service and it s MANDATORY no matter how good or bad the service is. Today after tipping an amount which I think is a reasonable amount for a restaurant that should be already paying minimum wages to their employees. I was shocked that the owner is over expecting about tip and having the owner come over to ask about it was shocking. Kimchi today lost a loyal customer that has been referring this place to many many people over the past 3 years. Very Dissatisfied and Disappointed. TIPS ARE NOT MANDATORY, TIPS ARE OPTIONAL.
Had the tofu stew on a cool day a couple of weeks ago and it just hit the spot!
Their food is amazing. Service is usually very good but have received mediocre service at times.
I had lunch here recently. Im celiac, and Asian restaurants usually dont have gluten-free options, or at least they are not identified clearly. In this restaurant, they are aware of our issues and have a good number of gluten-free options (thank you previous reviewer whereveryouare), although they are not identified in the menu as such. The service was kind and helpful, and the food was good. Ill come back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free
Best taste ever. My number 1 pick for Korean cuisine in Town. Highly recommend! Food
I ve been coming to this place for years, however this one experience has really disappointed me. I order a kimchi stew and there was a piece of plastic in my soup and I showed it to the server. The server told me he was going to change it but comes back telling me I was the one who mistaken and saying it s a piece of onion. I was the one who bit into that piece and the material is nothing close to anything that is edible. Usually this is my favourite place for the kimchi stew because the food is always delicious but this one experience ruined it for me. It was super unprofessional how they handled the situation, and this will be the last time I come back.
Employees are totally unprofessional
I went there because I wanted to eat Korean food while traveling, and this is a really good restaurant The staff is also nice, and I think Ill visit again next time I come to Toronto!!
Great food, ambiance and...awesome owner! Went there on a chilly evening and the space seemed super cozy and dark but not in that irritating young person/fusion hipster kind of way. The owner woman came over to our table and demostrated proper bibimbap mixing technique in which you scrape the burnt rice layer off of the sides of stone bowl in with the rest of the rice and vegs/meat...and then she told us about her homemade condiment/sauce made from 10 fruits boiled down into a savory/sweet melange...and then we discussed our respective ages!!!! Basically, a 100% perfect dining experience on gastronomic, atmospheric, and inter-personal fronts!
Vegetarian options: Available; please ask for options Kid-friendliness: Yes Recommended dishes Classic Beef Bibimbap, Pork Bone, Soup, Spicy Pork
I had the Sweet spicy chicken!!
Ten days of trip to Canada. I came back to Toronto and had a very delicious dinner. The staff were all friendly and the food and restaurant were all good. Become more prosperous. ^^
The food was actually very good but the fact they limit the banchan to 1 round of 6 dishes, plus 2 extra dishes and then $2 extra per dish after that, is the reason for the low rating. The single diner sitting beside us had a round of 6, same as us. Won t go back.
Food is tasteless, no salt, no sugar, no pepper. There is no refilling for banchan. Service is not attentive enough. Not worth the money.
Pork bone soup was excellent and all the Asian servers were beautiful and charming
Amazing food and generous portions! Love this place
Ate there twice. Everything was very good. The place is clean and the staff is nice
I was in a party of 8 and ordered their chicken wings. My order was forgotten and I paid $26.13 for 8 chicken wings because 18% tip was automatically included. What the heck
It was my first time coming here and I went with my friends. They were very accommodating with our party size, all the banchan was very filling! I got the Pork Bone Soup and it taste really good, will definitely be going back in the future!
Had an amazing time at the Kimchi Korea house. Friendly staff and clean and fresh food. Loved the pickled side dishes they were amazing along with the peach soju . Match made in heaven. Must try Bibimbap
The food is clean and the staff is very sensible. Especially the homemade makgeolli is very good. I recommend you give it a try.
If you are looking for a delicious korean restaurant in Toronto, you have to try KKH ! We ordered different dished and all of them were very tasty. We even received various mini flavory traditional appetisers before our main courses. The personal was adorable and explained us how to enjoy at best the food we ordered, for instance by adding or not their delicious home made sauces. Its a pity that I live very far away, I would definitely regularly eat there, thanks so much for the super experience
Best Korean restaurant in downtown Toronto. Pork bone soup tastes so delicious. I fully recommend this restaurant. Best service!
This is a popular restaurant in Toronto where you can enjoy authentic Korean cuisine. This restaurant is a must-see for Korean food lovers, with a wide variety of traditional menu items such as bibimbap and bulgogi. Theres plenty of kimchi and side dishes, so youre sure to be full! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm, and you can enjoy your meal with friends and family. You can adjust the spiciness, so even people who dont like spicy food can enjoy it. If you want to enjoy the taste of Korea easily, please give it a try!
Ive been traveling in Canada for 3 weeks, and I couldnt eat bread anymore, so I found this Korean restaurant... Its so delicious... Its a taste that makes me applaud... Its even more convenient because you can order in Korean, and the staff are all so friendly!! I paid $54.45 including tip and tax, and although it was expensive, it was a worthwhile meal
My soup broth was phenomenal. It was spicy and complex.
One of the best home made korean side dishes here in downtown, serving is big and affordable
Consistently good Korean food. It s my go to lunch spot when i have a craving for Bibimbap. Wish they opened a bit earlier on weekdays.
Service was fast and waitress was able to provide suggestions on dish for me to have. Too bad the spiciness of the soups, like the pork none soup could not be adjusted. I would have had that one. A little disappointed. I had the bulgogi bimbap with egg and it was delicious. Was served sizzling hot which I liked. I was able to put in my own sauces and mix myself. The sauces were traditional and didnt add any weird flavour. I really liked the side dishes especially the kimchi and bean sprouts. I thought of ordering more kimchi but thought I ate a lot already. The serving was pretty big and I couldnt finish the whole thing. Great place to satisfy some korean food cravings. Might visit again if I crave bimbap. But I really do crave the pork bone soup but its too spicy for me. Thank you for the service. I recommend to others to eat here. There is plenty of room and it wasnt too busy at lunch.
I lived nearby 10 years ago and would often visit this store after school. Now I come here again and the taste is the same as in my memory.
Food is good but they overcooked my egg yolk. Good service. The price is higher than others.
A Korean restaurant with delicious kimchi. The taste of kimchi determines the taste of a restaurant.
It was my first time, my nephew took us to eat after he went there couple of times Im impressed by everything from entrance to the time we finished and we were welcomed by Mama Lee she is amazing lady the food quality is 100% Ill go back as much as I could
Food was authentic Korean food. I love the appetizers. Servers are Korean that makes the ambiance truly a Korean place. Add to that, the washrooms are clean and well maintained.
Best!! Banchan and the mushroom bibimbap were delicious
Came here on a wayyy too hot day with my friend. It s probably one of my favourite Korean restaurants :) Now I know, why are you eating hot soup on a hot day I don t know either I was craving it. But it was worth it because it tasted SO good. My friend was the exact opposite and got cold noodles. She enjoyed it! The pancakes were well made, and I took a little bit home. The service was fast and attentive, and there was a good amount of seating. I saw some alcohol deals so I d like to come back to test those out Thank you for having me! :)
The kimchi stew was a great way to relieve the greasiness accumulated during the 7-day trip to Canada. The stew was spicy and spicy, so delicious!!!! Koreans can go here, get kimchi therapy, and travel again. Many of the staff are Korean, so communication is easy. The side dishes were delicious, but a little too sweet for my taste. The bibimbap was delicious, but my mom said it was too sweet for her, but she really enjoyed the stew! Side dishes are added for free up to two times, but there is an additional charge of $2 for any more! There is also a vegetarian option for bibimbap, so vegetarians can also go.
Had dinner there with family. Service was good, food is also pretty good. Would come back some other time.
Phenomenal, the staff are super kind and attentive, the food is delicious (we particularly loved the gyoza appetizer!), and you get your moneys worth. The owner was delightful and caring too :) highly recommend, it was a wonderful experience.
I had galbitang and it was worth eating. But the meat is a little tough. The atmosphere is quiet and clean, so it would be good to bring adults.
The food itself was okay, 8/10, but the catalog says tipping is 18%? The waiter collected the food very quickly and it didn t feel very comfortable.
I m past 30 years old now, and been going to Kimchi Korea House since I was 17 (OCADU) student. The reason why I bring this up is because this is definitely the best K-food in all of Toronto and has been extremely consistent with the flavours and service. Food: always fresh and healthy, and mama lee makes all the food from scratch herself. My husband doesn t like kimchi much but he will always eat mama lee s kimchi!!!! Service: never had a single problem there- and I can be picky at times. They re very accommodating and you can tell the servers love their job and respect both the customer and their environment. It s rare to find a restaurant where all their staff goes above and beyond thank you so much for feeding hungry Torontonians Kimchi Korea House! someone needs to put KKH in the Michelin guide Toronto
Great pork bone soup and Sikhye is amazing
Food was great authentic and Friendly staff
Excellent food. Friendly service. Quick to the table
Really enjoyed this Korean restaurant! Staff was very friendly and accomadating for our family and the food was delicious. The pork bone soup was fire , but worth it.
Staffs good, tastes good. But the bottom was not cooked at all for brown rice Food
Went there for lunch with coworkers. The service was good but food was pricey and portion was small.
All foods made in-house by owner and family, including daily kimchi. met owner, she is wonderful and very proud of her food prep. She says, all about happy customers and not profits.
Authentic Korean food with good service
I recently dined at a delightful Korean restaurant and enjoyed their Tofu Teriyaki, which featured perfectly crispy tofu in a rich teriyaki sauce, and the Vegetable Soba Noodles, which were fresh and flavorful. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff enhancing the overall experience.
My go-to Korean food place whenever I visit downtown. The Tofu Bibimbap and the Jap-Chae are so delicious. Even the sides that they provide are on point. The service is very friendly and quick. Have already been there a couple times and will be back soon! Vegetarian options: Veg options available
Very good food. Cheap.
The best
Food is really good, this is one of my fave Korean restaurant. Last time we went though, I ordered bibimbap, it came with the sauce in separate plastic bottles, and the staff kept coming back to pick them up even though Im not done. She must have come at least 4 times to ask me if I am still using it, and each time I said yes. It just got annoying after awhile, I mean what part of yes, Im still using it is not clear.
I had lunch here. The place is quite busy. The service is ok. Foods are fine.
Been back here for more than 10 times. Also take friends to here. Customer service is nice and friendly. Food is amazing and offered with large portion. Good deal if sharing with family or friends. The price is absolutely reasonable and staff is very attentive.
The location was great and the resto is a small space. Not crowded unless there are people waiting at the entrance. Food was GREAT! I love the spiciness of the soup I ordered plus, the kimchi on the side, plus RICE. I would definitely come back and try order it again! Serving was fine but I would like to have more noodles on it
I liked customer service they provided but i didnt like the kimchi I ordered to take out. I am not sure if I am the only one who didnt like it or not but I would not buy kimchi again. Again customer service was good.
We had lunch at this Korean spot downtown, and it was great! The soondubujjigae was perfectly spicy and super tasty. The grilled chicken came with a bunch of fresh veggies and was good. And the bibimbap? Excellent, especially with that crispy rice at the bottom. If youre craving Korean food and dont want to travel to Korea Town, this place is a must-try!
If you are kimchi lover don t go here. The portion of the side dishes are small and you only get two of the side dishes refilled once then you have to pay for the next rounds. Either the taste or the portion is not worth the prices. Simple bibimbaps are way overpriced and some other dishes as well. If you have more than 6 ppl you have to pay 18% tips. There are many amazing Korean restaurants in Toronto that have reasonable prices and good food and we won t come back to here for sure.
Vegetarian options: Great service Food
Fabulous hot stone dishes. Great taste, value, not to mention 5.75$ drinks. A great find in the middle of a busy city. Dietary restrictions: They accommodated our gluten intolerances.
Can be very busy, but the staff does a good job at keeping it together. Price is okay for the quality.
I tried many dishes there, but it was my first time I had lunch. I have a feeling that bibimbap stone bowl was perfectly hot enough for lunch which was not properly hot at dinner time. Food is yummy and staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable.
Consistently high quality for a reasonable price. First time I had was through delivery order, and even better dine-in.
Ordered the pork bone soup and it was amazing. It was very spicy and each piece had a lot of meat. We also got a lot of soup for the price, will definitely come back
Very delicious and authentic food, large portion. Servers are very friendly
Amazing Service...Chris was our waiter T.y. We had a musical to attend with limited time, and he made our dinner happen without making it seem rushed. We had the beef short ribs with rice, miso soup, and all the delicious side dishes. The establishment is clean, bright, and well organised. Staff are helpful and friendly. The menu is tall, and we will be back to try other items. Vegetarian options: available Dietary restrictions: ask and itll be obliged Parking: its downtown so pd parking Kid-friendliness: yes and available Wheelchair accessibility: yes
Recently visited. Was happy with the meal. Their naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) was perfect- and they preemptively provided scissors, vinegar, and mustard (I m always amazed when some places do not). Service was quick, attentive, and polite. The banchan was good as well. Lastly- their prices are quite reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.
This is the best Korean food Ive had since I last visited South Korea. The classic bibimbap was excellent and reminded me of Jeonju. They were generous with the side dishes as well as the main course. The service is outstanding and my wife and I will definitely be back.
The food was good but the service could definitely be better.
Great spot to grab lunch downtown. Went on Sunday when they have two glasses of wine and mini gyoza (which did not disappoint) deal. Also got beef bulgogi and squid. Both great with the spicy squid especially flavourful. Very quick and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Awesome first time experience for Korean food. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Highly recommended for overall experience
idk bruh, they are def not the most generous with their banchan side dishes
During March Break, my friends and I (group of 9) went to Kimchi Korea House on March 14th, 2024 prior to our reservation at Escape Manor Toronto. After completing our shopping at the Eaton Centre, we took a quick 5 minute walk to the restaurant. In the past, we went to Kimchi House restaurant before in Koreatown, but Kimchi Korea House truly elevated the experience of eating at a K-restaurant. As soon as we walked in, there was a warm and inviting ambience. We were immediately brought to a table and the waitresses made sure we would all have a copy of the menu and set our water on the table. After putting in our orders, we thoroughly enjoyed the plethora of side dishes that came before the main dishes. The waiting time was swift and the bibimbaps were still piping hot! I ordered the infamous pork bone soup and it was so tender and savoury with a kick of spice. It went perfectly with the bowl of rice. Throughout the dining experience, our waitress came to refill our water by being super attentive to our needs. Aside from the great food and service, my friends are extremely grateful toward the restaurant. One of my friends accidentally left their debit card at the restaurant and did not realize until a couple of hours later. Luckily, staff found it prior to him calling and had kept it safe until he was able to retrieve it. This is a lovely restaurant and I would highly recommend - their attention to detail and dedication to providing outstanding service is greatly appreciated.
It s not good food
i looove this place! i still havent tried spicy fried chicken better that at this place. and the sides are always on top! especially potatoes and cucumbers (last times they didnt have them tho). thats a very good place!
Like their bimbimbap!
First of all the food is delicious. The kimchi is great. Let me recommend you get the Bibimbap on hot stone of your choosing, although I would recommend the one with LA ribs, bulgogi or the one with kimchi if you like a vegetarian option and add the special house sauce! Just delicious! You will get the usual sides of Korean food with what ever you order. Now the service, the hosts and waiters are really kind and will assist you nicely and will help in clearing any doubts you might have.
I had a terrible experience here. I was spoken down to by an extremely rude waitress. Food is very basic and below average quality
It was so delicious!!!
One of my favorite Korean restaurants. Its getting to be pricy these days, but food and service are still great. Dietary restrictions: Seafood option
Ive ate here many times and this used to be one of my favourite restaurants to dine-in in Toronto because the staff was friendly and food was great. I didnt know that it came with an agreed upon you must shut up and not ask for another seat rule it was cold outside and they told us to sit near the doors...since I was so so cold, we asked if we can sit somewhere else. Thats when the servers attitude turned sour. They were dismissive with the way they spoke to us. I considered leaving but decided to stay. Long story short, we shouldve left. Instead of nice hot food, it was cold and there was hair on the food. Since my partner and I were already so uncomfortable being there, we ate our food as fast as possible and left. This is going to my last visit - which is a shame cause I used to really like this restaurant
Excellent food quality and portion size. Great for lunch.
This is my favourite go-to Korean restaurant. The owner and all of the servers at this restaurant are so kind and welcoming. I dont think weve ever been so well received at a restaurant before, huge compliments to the entire staff and owner for their genuine customer service. The food is absolutely delicious, Ive been here several times and have never been disappointed. It is always so hard to decide WHAT to order because everything is SO GOOD! I totally recommend this gem of a restaurant!
This place has potential to be really amazing. First few visits were great, how ever, my last one will be the last time. Some of your staff need to maintain the professionalism it had before. Please hire grateful people who need a job and will work hard to provide quality service, food and atmosphere. You have some ungrateful employees that need to be reprimanded for the following actions; From getting attitude for politely asking for a seat, to getting cold food with less ingredients, finding pubic looking hair in my food, then letting us leaving without a greeting is disgraceful. Ive had better service from Spring Sushi and Salad King around the area. Goodluck
I will never go back. Panchan in Korean restaurants are always topped up when asked. The fact that you gave me and my friend the same amount of panchan as a single diner sitting beside us, and then asking us to pay extra for more is appalling. The Korean culture has been stripped away from this restaurant.
Great service! We ve lunched here a few times before and always a great experience. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food arrived promptly and very tasty. One of the best Korean restaurants I ve ever been. Vegetarian options: Mushroom and Tofu Bibimpap are great vegetarian options, plus the veggie tempura.
This is a Korean restaurant recognized by Koreans. Its so delicious.
Overall experience was great. Food came fast and very tasty. Service was good and friendly. Price was reasonable.
Yummy
Walking along Dundas after visiting the AGO, spotted this place and ducked in. Sure glad we did! Friendly greeting, busy but a couple open tables. Lots of choices on the menu. Prompt friendly service. Warmed up with a cup of Jujube (date) tea - sweet but yummy. Ordered a Bulgogi and Takoyaki to share. Didnt realize the main came with an assortment of appetizers which were nicely presented and perfect for 2 to share, so 1 main and a app was plenty for 2. $70 with tax and tip for 2. Honestly, we were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We left full and happy. Would definitely recommend Kimchi House if youre downtown.
Tried their spicy beef soup and it was delicious. All side dishes were great as well, very well made. Seating was decently comfortable. Portions were ok - could be slightly bigger for the price point. If you ask for a side dish refill, you can only choose two. Service was good. Will be back to try some of their other menu items!
Couldnt get a table at Gyubee next door so we popped in here instead and it was the beat decision we ever made. We will be back again! Mama Lee is an absolute sweetheart and the food was delicious.
Very tasty food, friendly waiters. For such a price, eating in Toronto is a great find! I recommend!
Way over priced compared with other Korean restaurants and the food isn t clean. We all had stomach flu after having dinner there. They also only refill 2 side dishes for you for only once, unlike other Korean places where u get unlimited refill on all side dishes. Just don t go here, there are way better choices for Korean food.
Nestled in the heart of the city, this Korean gem offers an authentic culinary journey. From flavorful Kalbi Ribs soup and Stir Fried Pork to delicate banchan, each dish boasts vibrant flavors and meticulous preparation. The cozy ambiance and attentive service enhance the dining experience, making it a must-visit for any Korean cuisine enthusiast. Highly recommend !!
The servers were very rude ! They told us we can t order just one item even though it was just appetiser and we were deciding on our mains, but the waiter came and embarrassed us that we ordered just one appetiser on a busy weekend! I can t believe that, it was very rude and embarrassing. But then the owner came and smooth out the situation with suggesting us something which was better. But overall the our first experience were hideous. 1/10.
The only Korean restaurant in Toronto that makes me feel less homesick Mama Lee is the best!
Got the pork bone soup.... meh prices have gone up, which is understandable , but the quality is mediocre. Service was horrible... staff were short, very mechanical.... not for $20 per person theres way more choice in the city. Just have to over to the next block. Used to be the spot... not anymore.
Seafood pancake is ok Sweet and spicy chicken is not what I expected for Korean fried chicken Tofu soup is good Food : 2/5
Authentic cuisines and presentation.
The menu showcases a diverse range of dishes, from traditional favorites to modern interpretations, all delivering a satisfying burst of Korean flavors. The attentive service and genuine commitment to the culinary experience make Kimchi Korea House a must-visit for those seeking an immersive taste of Korean gastronomy. Vegetarian options: limited options ...
Prices have skyrocketed but food was not as good as it used to be. Pork bone soup was $20, and side dish refill you only get 2 for free, which is ridiculous considering the price of the main. Service was very friendly and prompt, the only complaint is that they seem to be very cheap on giving out napkins lol. If you want good Korean food you re better off going to the Yonge Finch area.
Had a delightful sit-down meal with my son at this gem of a restaurant. It was our first experience with Korean cuisine. The server was very friendly and helpful as she answered all of our questions and provided good guidance on our food selections. The meal was delicious and the portions (mains) were very generous. The atmosphere was great too. Will definitely visit again when back in town.
Very friendly staffs, class presentation, cozy atmosphoere. Soju and Makkolli special is fantastic. Will be back for sure. I really enjoy the traditional Korean restaurant setup in the city centre. Japchae was a bit too watery and seasoned excessively but its probabby my preference. Thank you so much for the great experience Sajangnim!
Great place to get Korean dishes; the staff is friendly, and the food service was quick and delicious. We ordered the spicy pork platter, seafood, bibimbap, and Kimchi stew. For appetizers, we had seafood pancakes. All in all I recommend this restaurant.
Nice Korean restaurant in downtown Toronto.
Terrific place and wonderful owner who takes pride in her restaurant. Will be back.
The customer service is beyond anything! Each staff person is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. The food is some of the best I ve had. We felt like family from the time we entered. Our new go to downtown for sure!!!! Parking: Located on busy Main Street, but lots of lots close and street parking if you can get it.
Great place to eat! Amazing prices for what you get. I ordered the beef bibimbap and it came with a free tofu app, miso soup, sides! Service is fantastic, and the restaurant very clean. Will return.
Good tastes for everything I like it Wheelchair accessibility: the front step and get easy to the washroom area
Best Korean food in the city!
Good food, friendly service. Will come again.
Food is quite good, but service leaves a lot to be desired...
Food is always amazing here, service is even better. Great central location. Perfect food for a cold winter day. Even better if you order a few different dishes and share with your party so you get to try and taste different flavours.
Quite good,
Superb food, really authentic and incredibly tasty bibimbaps! Highly recommend! Cozy place with comfy atmosphere.
Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options including both vegetable and soy based dishes Parking: The closest lot is in the Atrium on Bay (entrance off Edward) or the building with the Canadian Tire on the ground floor (entrance off bay)
Is your health safe? Red-stained dead caterpillars are hiding in the kimchi!
Overall, good food and atmosphere. Pros: 1. Food was fresh and tasted quite good; good portions as well 2. Atmosphere is nice Cons: 1. Service was a little slow even though it wasnt super busy at the time of visit
First time visit (lunch,12pm). Gets busy quickly, friendly efficient staff. I had the spicy beef soup (pictured), which comes with rice on the side -be warned it is very spicy and its a BIG bowl! Expect to pay around $20-$30 per person including tax.
A little more expensive than what Im used to paying when I go to a restaurant, but what a bargain for a simple culinary and cultural experience!
Food has less flavor than it used to.
While I was in the washroom, my friend paid for it, and the female employee was rude to my friend who didnt know the tip culture of Canada. It tasted not better than other Korean restaurant. He said he completely embarrassed my friend, who didnt know about the tipping culture because it was his first time going there. I felt really sorry for my friend who came to see me on a trip. I was really disappointed among the Koreans..
Great food. (So much, so tasty) Great vibe and atmosphere Food
I come here for japche, kimchi, and tonkatsu! Food, atmosphere, and service are impeccable! A bit pricey but the portions are large. I lived in Korea for 5 years, and I come here to get Korean soul food when I am missing it!
The eel bimbimbap is actually pretty good and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. They have some interesting traditional Korean dishes too.
I have only the best to say. By far the best Korean food I ve ever had, and the homemade kimchi should have a special place in heaven. It is the best kimchi I ve ever had. The owner Michelle was absolutely the best, kindest and generous host. We were a group and she took such good care of us (alongside her lovely staff), we felt totally spoiled and loved to hear her stories. She works so hard every day and deserves every bit of success and praise as is possible. Thank you!!!!
We had a great meal, friendly service!
Absolute favourite place for some soul food
Service and atmosphere themselves weren t bad but the food was. Me and 3 other friends all got separate dishes and all of them were disappointing. I got the spicy beef soup and it barely came with any noodles, and it tasted like watered down shin noodles. It was also in a rather small bowl and costed around $22. One of my friends could barely even get through half of their dishes. Also, they only did free refills for 2 side dishes, which isn t the worst but the side dishes themselves weren t even that good. The potato had a weird texture and the kimchi didn t have much flavour, same with the other dishes. The only side dish I liked was the glass noodles.
Food for the soul and lovely service.
I looove Bimbimbop!!! This place takes it to a whole new level! Everybody needs to go here We met the owner, very welcoming and all the staff is so nice The owner came over and mixed the bowls up, showed the newbies how to mix it properly. Absolutely amazing!
Food was not good, soft soup was disappointing
This was our go to place for Korean food in downtown every time we are nearby. The pork bone soup is always nice and the flavor has been consistent. But the bulgogi bimbibop was not.
Love the appetizers! The kimchi, tofu, vegetables were all yummy! Ordered a tufu soup with beef, the tofu were soft and smooth! The soup was a bit spicy. As I entered around 4 something, there were not many people. Love the atmosphere.
Best seafood pancake ever!
Excellent service, delicious food and good prices.
Kid-friendliness: The staff provided plastic cutlery and plate for my niece, and they have also provided non spicy tofu for her. Food
I went here with a colleague, and the food was amazing. The quantity was really big and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was very nice. I will come back here in the future when I m craving Korean food for sure!!
Food was delicious and staff was very friendly. Ordered the Spicy Pork Bone Soup and Bulgogi. Only downside was they only offer 2 free refills for the Banchan (not 2 free per individual Banchan) and after if you want more, they charge $2 per refill which in my opinion is too expensive for something so little
Walking in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and hellos. The place was busy but they were accommodating to our big group of 8. The service was fast and the servers were attentive. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, pork bone soup, bulgogi and kimchi bibimbap. The sweet and sour pork was crispy, and the sauce was a bit more on the sweet side. The pork bone soup was spicy with a rich flavour. It was a bit salty but pork bone soup has always been a favourite of mine, and this was one hit my craving in the right spot. The bulgogi was very tender and well marinated with a sweet soy marinade. The kimchi bibimbap was delicious with Mama Lee s famous kimchi. They only give one round of side dishes for free, and you get two side dishes for free once the first round is finished. After that, there ll be a fee. Their kimchi, sweet potatoes and bean sprouts side dishes were great. Overall, this restaurant is busy but I d love to come back again.
Great pork bone soup but through Uber eats the portion on the bulgogi is way too small a portion for $31.
Good place for casual eats. They offer side refills, but there is a charge of $2/dish after two dishes. The pork bone soup is good, but the tofu bibimbap doesnt have a big variety of veggies.
A fan of Korean food so decided to try it out and it did not disappoint! Great food and service! Food
The food was very tasty, lots of small side dishes !. the service was fast what really made this remarkable is the owner ( we think?) Who came in to explain each plate, show us that they share recepies on insta. The attention and care really made this an experience.
Amazing experience!
Food was okay. The sweet and spicy chicken tasted more like sweet and sour chicken for me. But the bulgogi that my friend got taste good.
