Mapo Gamjatang is a Korean restaurant in North York that serves authentic Korean food and specializes in pork bone soup.
Awesome service from Yewon and Inhae! Food were amazing. Place was clean. Service was fast and efficient. We ordered the Kalguksu Gamjatang and beef dumpling. The serving was huge and it was the perfect size for sharing. Highly recommended and would definitely be back!
One of the best gamjatang I've tried. Their sides all tasted yummy too!! Few things though, they out a lot of black pepper on top when they serve it, but you can easily take it out. When we were there, someone was painting the walls to the bathroom. Wish they could do those things before or after their operating hours. You wouldnt want the paint smell when eating food. Will come back for the gamjatang though. Tasty, not too salty, got a nice kick, not too spicy at all. Meat was very tender. Service was also stellar. Food came out quickly too. Place was clean and had enough space.
Probably one of my favourite places to get gamjatang. So flavourful and the meat portion is great! Also tried their hotpot-style soups/stews and I also love it especially when you're with a bigger group. Service is quick and they provide little aprons so you don't get your clothes messy.
My family & I was grabbing a late night dinner. I picked the place base on Google map review and it was a pleasant surprise when we sat down and went through the menu. There were just enough food choices to pick from. The servers were all very nice. We enjoyed the pork bone soup a lot as we were given generous portions and the flavor was right on. The rice ball was something new to us and it was very delicious. We will definitely return again and next time we will try the hot pot!
If you're craving a hearty Korean stew, the gamjatang at this restaurant hits the spot! The broth is rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spices and tender chunks of pork on the bone. The potatoes melt in your mouth, and the side dishes complement the main dish well. The portion sizes are generous, and the atmosphere is cozy, ideal for comfort food.
Went around the area for some good early dinner and found this Korean staple restaurant among others in the area. Found the Gamjatang interesting and couldn’t resist to try to taste it. Gamjatang wasn’t the best but it was as authentic as possible compare to others I tasted. I think the banchan are limited but selection was great. Service is fast and staff are courteous and attentive. Place has a great ambiance specially at the patio. Overall, place was great and menu selection for Korean staple foods are abundant.
The inside is a little dark and dingy but the food here is delicious. We ordered the Gamjatang Kalguksu and the Gamjatang Soon Tofu and they tasted great. The Kalguksu was a little bit stickier than I've had elsewhere, but it was still really good and the portion size was huge. They also give you a sweet sauce to dip the pork into, which is kind of nice as the sweetness cuts the spiciness of the soup a bit. Service was okay, they set us up with what we needed but didn't really come by at all after. You also go up to pay as well. 5% cash discount. Would come back for sure as the food was very tasty.
One of the best gamjatang (pork bone soup) I’ve ever had! It’s flavourful, pork meat is falling off the bone, super tender. The soup is rich and hearty. We had the mapo gamjatang jeongol regular size for 3 people at $49.99 and it was good for at least 4. There were at least 10-12 big meat bones in the soup. They also gave us banchan - kimchi, radish, fish cake strips, corn - 2 to 3x. Service was friendly, attentive and generous. This is now our favourite gamjatang place! And the kimchi is excellent, home style, flavourful, sour, salty and with just the right umami, and acidity.
The staff was really friendly. Pork soup was really tasty. Side dishes too.
I got the ramen gamjatang and it was good! I would love to try the usual with the glass noodles that could be fun.
The mapo gamjatang jeongol is as delicious as it is a show piece. Such great comfort food! I come here time and time again, because the quality is very consistent.
One of my highly recommended locations for gamjatang.
Their signature gamjatang is delicious and you get a good assortment of side dishes
Would give 0 star if I could. So knowing that the restaurant is busy, we asked the waitress how long the wait is going to be. She says 30 minutes, and asked us if we can give her our phone number for reservation of 4 people. So we provided our number and waited outside for them for almost 40 minutes. Since we received no calls from them, we walked in, and saw our name was at the top of the list so we asked again how long the wait is. The server tells us that it will be another 30 minutes wait and I realized they already had crossed off couple of teams that came after us. I get it. It s Saturday and they are busy. But the least you can do is tell us that we have to wait longer so we can take out the food instead of wasting our time. A simple sorry is not going to bring back our time wasted, don t you think? I usually never leave a comment in any of my restaurant experiences, but this one was so bad I just had to leave one. For those of you who are willing to try this restaurant despite my comment, the food is not worth the wait.
Good food with excellent service. It fulfilled my dreams of putting noodles in gamjatang!! This places sells one thing and they sell it super good.
This restaurant gamjatang is the best in North York
I ve ordered many times before and have noticed that the portions definitely did get smaller. However the food is still great and staffs are friendly.
Spicy por bone soup wuth noodles. One of the best i have had
Perhaps because I ordered it around closing time, the soup wasnt warm at all, and the glass noodles were uncooked and hard. The kitchen staff who worked around 11:30 PM on November 3 had a good meal^^,, The soup wasnt warm at all and the noodles werent cooked, maybe because I ordered it around the deadline.
Excellent PBS. Good amount of heat.
Food is delicious but never takeout I visited this place two days in a row, and my experience was mixed. On the first day, we dined in, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience great service, friendly staff, and delicious food. The second day, I ordered takeout, and while the food itself was just as delicious, there were a few very noticeable differences: 1. I ordered the exact same menu both days ( ) but received a significantly less portion in takeout. Less meat, less broth, and a lot less veggies. 2. I only received kimchi (usually there are 4 side dishes) and no signature soy sauce dip for the meat which makes the meat a little dry. 3. The cutlery was very poorly packaged. Dirty or ripped napkins, bent spoon, etc. Overall, the meal quality is alright, and dining in is a must-try, but takeout could use a lot more consistency to match the excellent dine-in experience.
Excellent food - Mapo Gamjatang and Mapo Gamjatang Ramyeon. Always worth a visit whenever you re at North York, sober or not.
Nice cozy place with tasty food!!
The Pork Bone soup was piping hot and just hits the spot!! The sides were Radish kimchi, Cabbage kimchi, Fish cake and creamed Corn, you can ask for refills too :)) If you re craving some lovely Korean food, highly recommend this place
Like their food, but the staff always seems busy with take-outs and delivery orders. Doesnt pay too much attention to the tables. Maybe theyre understaffed. Their signature Gamjatang is nice but sometimes a bit peppery. I would come back for the shareable pot on a burner on the table when Im with more people.
Very delicious Korean food
Pork bone soup is a must! The one with the ramen noodles hit the spot for me. Will be back whenever were in the area. :) Update: Second time, got to try the fried pork cutlet and beef bulgogi. Both excellent as well! Fast becoming one of our favourite spots even despite the trek from our neck of the woods.
regular size Gamjatang is good for 3-4 people. Their side dishes are all good.
Love gamjatang jeongol here
Good friendly service, great food!
Great value and portion of food! The pork pot is so delicious. And thats not it yet. You can order fried rice and they will use the hot pot leftover broth turn them into a very delicious korean seaweed rice. Yum!
Ive gone here twice already, and greatly enjoyed both visits. I first tried their signature Gamjatang, and the meat was plentiful and broth was delicious. The second time I tried the Mapo Bulgogi, which was hearty and filling. The side dishes are also very delicious, and the kimchi is very crisp! Great price for the amount of food I get, will continue to come here :)
Nice Korean place, got Gajatang (Pork bone soup) from here and it was really good.
It was just ok. I expected better considering they specialize or are known for gamjatang but the meat wasn t very fall off the bone which was disappointing considering it s cumbersome to eat. Otherwise, service was fast and they gave us unlimited side dishes.
Absolutely love this place. The f Soup broth was delicious. The pork were literally fall of the bone tender and staff were superb. Highly recommend it if you live soups. Food
I ve been there for three four times and everything was great until last time I was there on a Friday night, in the middle of eating, there was a cockroach crawling on the side of the table I m sorry but I couldn t finish the meal after that.
Communication is rather poor. My wife told thev
Delicious.
Rice balls were yummy, gamjatang had a lot of meat. Seemed slightly understaffed.
bulgogi was tasty
The staff are so unfriendly
I visited Mapo Gamjatang and thoroughly enjoyed the Korean food experience. The restaurants unique front side makes it hard to spot on a first visit. Their attractive white signage is blocked from view due to their wooden overhang and corrugated roofing for their outdoor patio, probably a remnant of the pandemic. To compensate, a plastic sign was hung along the thick wooden fence below eye level, which made it difficult to identify this place as a restaurant. At any rate, the outer appearance of the restaurant was not very welcoming. Inside, it was relatively spacious, with plenty of seats, mostly wooden brown and nothing begging for attention. Tables and eating utensils were all clean, except for the menu, which needed a reprint in my opinion. Most items on the menu were a variation of its signature Gamjatang, Korean pork bone soup. Mapo Gamjatang: Their main signature dish was great. Large pieces of pork bone with tender pork meat falling off were served in a bowl. I transferred each bone to a separate dish and separated the meat from the bone, then disposed of the bone in a separate bin available on request. The Gamjatang also came with a halved potato and glass noodles on the bottom, which was already enough food. A bowl of steamed rice served on the side meant that it was going to fill up even the hungriest of guys. The soup was well seasoned, tasting mostly of doenjang (Korean fermented bean paste). After removing all the bones, I dumped the steamed rice into the soup and started digging in. The soy-sauce-based mustard sauce was served on the side so I could dip the meat in it. Personally, I thought that it did not add much value since the soup was already well seasoned, and the sauce wasnt strong enough to make a difference on my palate. I must mention that the side dishes complemented the meal very well. For me, the showstopper was the kkakdugi, or cubed radish kimchi. It was perfectly fermented and a great way to refresh my palate. The servers were prompt and eager to assist. I think I saw that they offered a 5% cash discount, but I did not take advantage of it this time. The access to the washroom was a mixed bag. It was located downstairs, and I noted that the stairs didnt feel particularly safe. The washroom could have been cleaner. Overall, I had a good time. While their gamjatang wasnt exactly cheap, I thought that the overall value matched the price. I recommend their regular-sized gamjatang to anyone who enjoys the taste of Korean pork bone soup. I would like to come back next time Im in the mood.
The pork bone soup is less salty but spicier compared to other places in my opinion. Service was excellent, they kept asking if we needed more side dishes. I like the fried chicken, the portion is pretty good.
Even though I went to eat alone, I was greeted warmly and kept checking to see if I needed anything more, so I enjoyed my meal!! The taste is always as delicious as ever. I stop by every time I come from out of town, and thank you for always preparing a delicious meal.
We ordered take out and was very disappointed by the portion size. We ordered a large size of the mapo Gamjatang jeongol and its meant for 3-4 people... It only came with 6 pork bones in total... I think for the price is pretty expensive. Not sure if it was that is supposed to be the portion size or they accidentally gave us the smaller portion. It was good but portion is more for 2 people.
Best gamjatang in the city. Kimchi has a taste of sweetness which is nice. Highly recommended.
My wife and I went there for the first time on a recommendation and boy.. we werent disappointed. We ordered the small portion table top hot pot style Porkbone Soup called Gamjatang. It was this fantastic broth that came loaded with vegetables, noodles, potatoes, and a portion of meat that would serve a family of 4 easily IMO!! To make it even better, they brought side dishes to eat with the dish that they kept replenishing for us!! Even when the soup was looking low they brought us more broth!!! My wife and I were astonished with the Service, the flavor and the portions!! We will be back again to try other things on the menu. We feel that for your money, you are getting extremely good value
Oh, its pretty good and the amount is good, but it doesnt feel like its too rich.
My go to spot for Pork Bone Soup, never a disappointment. Highly recommend. Love the sides that automatically come to the table as well.
Perfect space and perfect Korean food. We had Ramen and Chicken dumpling which were delicious. We could sit outside which was a good thing as we have a dog and he could join us. The staff are exceptional, all kind, laughing all the time and trying to be helpful. Would definitely visit again.
The food was great but the female server was really rude, really bad service.
Delicious and friendly Thank you for helping me charge my phone and calling an Uber~ Around 9:00 PM today~~
Visited here twice in one month. Gamjatang was sooo good. Side dishes were all amazing!
Good taste. Really delicious
Best gamjatang in town but a bit pricey
The service of Aaron is so exceptional..kudos to him.
Came back again the best pork bone soup in Toronto!
The portioned wasnt fully cooked as the meat was hard to get off the bone. The soup was good.
Great authentic Korean food
The food was good for the price but the service was super slow. I was not happy with the service considering it wasnt even busy. But yes the gamjatang and takkoboki was really good. Ill just go back for the food. I wish they hire more people for faster service.
If you want a change from Owl of Minerva, this is a good place to try. Can t go wrong with both ofcourse.
I tried Korean-style gamjatang in Toronto. It would be nice if the taste of the soup was enhanced a little.
Great portion size and delicious pork bone soup. Great flavour and meat falls off easily.
I ordered it through Uber Eats. I ordered Mapo ppyeojjim regular size and dumplings. I understand some of it because it was delivery, but the noodles were too spread out. I think the restaurant staff need to adjust the boiling of the noodles considering delivery. Alternatively, they may want to consider providing noodles in separate packaging. And although it was steamed, there was little broth, so the meat was very dry. It would have been better if the meat had been moist and eaten, but it was disappointing.
The service at this place was HORRIBLE, there was this tall male waiter that had the worst attitude and was very disrespectful, would not go again
I had gamjatang and rice balls and they were delicious The portions were plentiful and the service was especially good :)
Soooo good. One of my favourite spots for pork bone soup
Food is great! Staff are really nice too. Always come here after working out. The best gamjatang and rice balls
Food is SUPERB!!! Best gamjatang ever!
Amazing staffs and service! Friendly staffs, quick service and very good food. The portion of food was so huge. I will come here more often! Thank you!
It was absoultly amazing! Always loving this place where can experience deep taste of Korea!
The restaurant was very busy but the servers were still very attentive and polite. My friends and I enjoyed the mapo gamjatang jeongol very much.
One of best K-food in Toronto, Specially amazing taste today
The best pork soup restaurant Kid-friendliness: They offer more side dishes for my kid. Super friendly staffs Food : 5/5 |
Very good
The best shareable pork bone soup. It s such an amazing experience. Service is on point!
Food is so good at here.
Food was really good and the staff were really nice. Would highly recommend
If you want a comforting bowl of gamjatang, this is your go to spot. Im a fan of getting the regular sized og mapo gamjatang which comes with rice on the side. The portion size is very generous. I always get 3 to 4 large pieces of pork bone with a lot of meat. The meat itself is always tender enough to get it off the bone. The meal comes with 4 side dishes which consist of cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cake and creamy sweet corn. All are refillable without any additional charge, which is nice. The wait staff are all nice. The only reason I docked it one star is because when it gets really busy, they have to hustle and it may be a bit harder to get their attention. My fiancé and I love going here and will continue doing so for those nights we want something comforting!
Pork bone soup is the best here.
Very good!
My place of choice for Gamjatang in GTA! Ive come here multiple times and tried multiple variations of the dish, and Ive never been disappointed. Large Gamjatang is my go-to option. It comes with enough pork bones to satisfy a grown man. The broth is tasty, and the glass noodles soaks up the flavour well. Ive tried switching the glass noodles with instant ramen noodles (which you can do), but take my word and stick with glass noodles. The Bulgogi and Katsu are also tasty as alternative dishes, though if you find yourself here, youd want to eat the restaurants namesake. The restaurant does suffer from shortage of front servers, as they struggle to clear up tables and take orders, but they are doing their best to run the restaurant and handle my outrageous requests (double refills on their yummy side dishes!), so credit to them.
Visited this spot to catch up with a friend. It was quite busy that night, but the wait wasnt too long. Upon entering, the place felt spacious, and a bustling night usually means good food. The service was efficient and friendly. We both opted for the Mapo Gamjatang, and my friend chose to have it with noodles. The flavour was excellent, providing both comfort and a spicy kick. A perfect choice for a chilly winter evening. Highly recommended!
Good food! Everything is served in a quick way.
Amazing gamjatang. The taste is really different from other gamjatangs in town, highly recommend this shop if you find yourself in North York
Mapo bone stew and gamjatang hotpot are delicious! Even if you order regularly, it seems like enough food for 3-4 people!
Very nice place with great side dishes (especially the kimchi!!)
The food is friendly and delicious. It seems like a restaurant that does gamjatang properly. I went with my kids and the pork cutlet was delicious. It was okay because the seats were spacious. The sense of providing separate cutlery for the children!
The atmosphere is nice, the staff are very friendly, and the gamjatang pork cutlet is all so delicious!!!
Been a patron since 2019, when my wife was pregnant and literally dreamt of gamjatang. I traveled 2 hours to pick up gamjatang from here and head back, which took another 2 hours. I ate today and I am glad to report that the taste is authentic and flavorful as I remember it 4 years ago. Ambience is clean and all staff are very responsive. Great job, great teamwork- please keep it up.
Food is delicious frequently has a wait time/wait list but for good reason. I recommend their original gamjatang or the gamjatang soon tofu! ((Photo is after I started chowing down))
Great portion for the meal. Love the rice ball
soooooo good:)
Best pork bone soup. Feel like same as the one in Korea. If you want real Pork bone soup, come visit here.
The portions are great!
food was great and service was attentive!
Its so so so delicious!!!! Last time I had bone stew and this time I had gamjatang, and both were delicious hehe. When Im craving something spicy, Ill come eat bone stew, and when Im craving soup, Ill come eat gamjatang..
Lots of meat and great soup. Got the ramyeon gamjatang and loved it. Will definitely be back!
Great authentic food, excellent service. I will recommend this one to my Friends.
Great place to get authentic Korean gamjatang! Good food, friendly staff
Delicious and friendly
The noodles had perfect flavour and the noodles was really easy to bite off and the beef was really tender and the service was very good overall.
Korean waiters have poor service attitude! It seems like he doesn t like children!
Although I ate it in Canada, I think it was better than the places I ate in Korea! If I have time, I would like to come here often. Even though the restaurant was a bit crowded, the staff were all very friendly and took good care of me, so I left with a good meal. It was my first meal on January 1st, and thanks to this, I think I can start the year on a good note!
Amazing pork bone soup!
Amazing service and food! Will come back! Food
Everything was great!
Best service and food ever.
Came for dinner for the pork bone soup. Comes 3 small dishes pickle veggies. Overall the food is good and location is great.
Awesome comfort food, friendly and efficient staff. Jin and Jihyun in particular provided great service, I d highly recommend this place! :)
Tastes great with great service at good price.
We ordered korean fried chicken and ramyeon. Both were amazing. The flavours are great. The broth was really amazing. Service is great.
There is a lot of gamjatang here and it is very delicious The staff is also friendly so I highly recommend it if you are craving gamjatang. The kalguksu and sujebi are delicious.
The staff are all very friendly and the food is very delicious.
Food is recommended and the service is great. I love the experience especially with the food. 5 stars easy.
Amazing food!
My and I loved it. The gamjatang was really to my liking. The sides, especially the kimchi, and the service was impeccable. 10/10 will be back!
Food is so delicious! Highly recommend!
I made the most delicious gamjatang in Toronto. Great taste 10/10
Im a very season gamjatang eater around finch and Sheppard and this place had the driest tonkotsu problem served. It must have been refined. Soysauce that they dont have for sure. If you ask you will get vinaigrette. The tofu gamjatang soup with less spice bland. Dont recommend this place if you are looking for fresh and impactfull taste.
The service was friendly and quick. I ve tried the gamjatang with tofu and it was really good. The broth was slightly spicy and flavourful. It came with 4 side dishes which were really good as well. Would definitely come back again.
Best Gamjatang Ive had in Canada (if you cant tell by the name Im korean). Family absolutely loves it too. Honestly, this place rivals places in Korea too and my family thinks so as well. With the quality and quantity of the Gamjatang I dont think you can get a better deal anywhere else.
Always great foods and friendly service. Favorite Korean restaurant! perfect for cold weather.
Great food and excellent service by Jay
This is a must go place for in Toronto, food is awesome, and service is really great
So kind and the service is the best!! Im in love!!!!! jay and won i love you guys!!!
I go out to eat 5 times a week. Its so delicious.
Love this place Jay and Won were so kind I would recommend this place for my friends. 10 out of 10.
Excellent Service with high quality authentic korean taste. Highly recommended. The servers were all very friendly and beautiful especially the server named Jaywon! Would recommend to anyone looking to try some good quality Korean dishes!
Great great pork bone soup
It was nice to have a terrace and the staff took good care of me. Most importantly, the gamjatang is really delicious!
Went for lunch, tried the pork bone soup. It comes with steam rice, 4 small dishes pickle veggies, on the house, and the waitress offered free refill! The food is good and location is great.
Delicious, large portions, and good value.
came here once and pork bone was good. theyre different compared to a lot of other korean places which is not a bad thing.
This is my go-to for Gamjatang. They are a staple in Toronto for serving authentic Gamjatang. You can order it with rice or ramyen; however pricing may differ. I love their kimchi too!
Totally love the Gamjatang. Next time hoping to bring more friends so I can enjoy more if I have a chance to share Gamjatang in the pot together.
Really a big amount of pork bones hot pot for 2-3 person
Food was really yummy, the kimchi was scrumptious. The gamja tang (pork bone soup) is a total must try. Provided free water and tea and small side dishes. Parking: You need to pay for the street parking, which is kinda sad.
Everything I imagined it would be on a cold day. Loved the Mapo Gamjatang. Ordered a large for 4 pax and it was more than enough. Broth had great flavor and the meat is tender. Highly recommended.
The best Gamjatang in Canada probably!!
Honestly the BEST Korean food I ve ever had. I will probably be eating here once every 2 weeks now for the rest of my life lol. I ordered the pork bone soup with ramyeon. Also ordered the tteok-bokki! Only suggestion I would make is having an option to add cheese on the tteok-bokki :) Everything tasted SO fresh and flavourful. It wasn t super spicy either so you can really get to experience the full depth of flavours. The side dishes were amazing, my favourite kimchi I ve ever had. Amazing tea and service as well! You guys definitely blew my socks off and have gained a loyal customer. Thank you for putting so much care and love into the food, it made my whole weekend
Just left the restaraunt (10/16) at 700pm. First time here and came based on the reviews for the pork neck soup. As I was eating, I had cut my inside of my mouth with a hard object. When I looked to see what it was, I saw that it was a hard piece of metal from what looks like a cleaning brush. The servers never came back to check on us, so when we we had asked for the check, I had mentioned that there was a piece of metal inside my soup. The male server never apologized or offered to remake the soup for me. He brushed me off like it was not a big deal. Do better.
The special size of Gamjatang is only for big eaters....
The pork bone soup here is one of the best Ive had in the city. If youre going to eat here, just order gamjatang, its their specialty! Comes with a bucket to throw bones and the pork bone itself is tender, fall of the bone texture. Also the meat portion is very generous and the whole meal with banchan came up to under $20, which is a big deal during a recession. You get a lot of value of what you are paying for with quality food.
Soup is so good, I also love side dishes. This my new gem Food
I went here just recently. The food was absolutely perfect. I got the pork neck bone ramyeon and it was wonderful. The meat was very tender. My waitress had a very bright, kind personality with a great ambition to serve. Definitely a 10/10 eating experience!
Very flavorful gamjatang, generous portion, fast service. Would come back again and would recommend to those who love gamjatang.
Taste amazing, nice service
Wouldn t recommend.
Beware the fat waitress , billed $40.77 give them $50 to change and give me back $7.1 as change ... horrible experience !!!
The pork bone soup is delicious!
Probably one of the best pork bone soups I ve ever had! Knocks all the other places out of the park. Broth is absolutely delicious and not greasy at all! Huge portion and pork bone was very meaty. Also enjoyed some beef dumplings which were very light and crispy. Service was great (note we came in during lunch) the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would have loved some hot tea instead of cold water but we didn t ask for it which is fair. Other than that this place is an absolute must try. Menu is not big but they do have other options. Location and parking is definitely overwhelming if you are driving. Keep in mind this area is very busy during the day so you ll have trouble finding parking. There are underground parking around the area and walkable distance to the restaurant.
Food is good Nice place for date or family day Food
Love their tteokboki! Gamjatang was awesome too. We ordered the classic gamjatang. We wanted to order the fried rice too but you can only order it if you order the special gamjatang. Service can still be improved but over all, it was a great experience.
Tasty
Food was delicious and servers were warm and welcoming.
The food is yummy, and the price is reasonable. Service is fast , pork bone soup is good Must order. Food : 3/5
The best gamjatang in town. The broth is deep, and the service is super fast. Banchans were all great especially radish kimchi ( ). We dined in on Sunday morning, and the restaurant was full by 12:30PM.
Restaurant is clean with cozy vibe. The porc bone soup was delicious. I would come back for the soup. There is no free parking lot tho.
Yummy food and attentive staff. I d definitely come back again =)
The pork bone broth was delicious!! They gave free refills of the side dishes. The atmosphere was very nice with all the wood decor.
I love the tteokbokki!! They refill the sides for free which is awesome too
Mapo Gamjatang is my favorite restaurant. Their food are so yummy and delicious. And great service from the restaurant servers!
The best gamjatang soup Ive had in Canada. The soup is light but all the flavors are present, not missing anything and not too punchy at the same time. After trying their gamjatang, I won t go other place for gamjatang
When I came to Canada, I often thought about gamjatang. Its really delicious here!! It also has 4 bones, so you can eat it until youre full! Since I dont like perilla seeds, I asked them to leave them out. They asked me if I had any allergies and they were friendly and nice! I live nearby and would visit again 100% + Plus, a bottle of soju! I like it because it s sharp.
the gamjatang was really good here
Excellent Korean food and service! Excellent Korean food and service :)
Amazing soups
Delicious Korean pork bone stew restaurant. Most of the signature dishes are for 2+ people so not a great place to come alone. Even when it says 2-3 servings be prepared to eat a lot if youre 2 and maybe get a side if you have a 3rd.
The pork bone soup has such a good flavor! The broth tastes so yummy. Brought all my friends to this spot and they all loved it. Side dishes compliments the soup and so yummy. I always come back here for my pork bone soup cravings!
best pork bone soup ever
Gamjatang is so delicious! There is a lot of quantity at a reasonable price.
Its delicious hahaha I always come here often!! I think the chicken soup is pretty good. But gamjatang is the best
Authentic food and great service! Highly recommended to visit if you havent already
Its great .
The beat Gamzatang place in toornto. Always visit here when I feel like Gamzatang, my favorite place in northyork.
The pork bones soup are good and the meat is juicy. It is different from any other Korean restaurants of which the meat are dried that I ate before. Deep fried dumplings are not recommended.
Its so, so delicious! Good good!
every time Im here for my visit to my OnLy 1st gamjatang in Canada
The food was really good. The pork bone was cooked really well and came right off the bone. Would recommend.
Best Pork Bone Soup I have had in Toronto. I really enjoyed it.
Nice service, good food. Definitely a choice to come back as a place for great Korean food
Most delicious food in winter!
There is limited choice of dishes, mostly gamjatang only. Soup is good but not too outstanding. Waiting time at evening takes 30-45 due to small space.Price is a little bit higher than other nearby restaurants. Portion is huge with lots of pork bones.
I always come to this place for authentic Gamjatang.
The food was amazing at Mapo Gamjatang. The best comfort food for a cold winter night. Service and atmosphere is great.
The pork bone stew was great! But the waiting service was a bit disappointing. When we went inside all the tables were filled and the servers told us to write down our names and wait outside to be called. We wrote down our number and waited right in front of the restaurant in the car. We waited in the car for about 30-40 minutes until my friend realized that other people were being seated before us. We went inside and there were a couple of empty tables. We got seated immediately. We never got a call or text message from the restaurant to inform us of the open tables. Other than that, the food was great. But there are better spots!
Friendly and good food
Food was great. Only downside is limited food choice.
The staff is friendly and the food is delicious!!
It was great service and food was pretty on spot, but a big downfall they gave us some really bony pieces this time in the jeongal gam ja tang, so sad, but its still one of our favorite spots!!!

Its one of the good restaurants in Toronto! Good taste and service are really perfect!! I want to come here again.
This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Toronto!!!! The meat is so tender, the quantity is plentiful, and the service is the best. I highly recommend this restaurant
