Fine dining upscale kosher restaurant
Great restaurant, they know how to grill their meats. Great service, attentive to the patrons, They have a great pace from sit down to ordering then from appetizers to entrees - dessert, it's done appropriately. Excellent overall.
Delicious French style Kosher meat restaurant. Service is excellent. Had some grilled shishito peppers as an appetizer. Generous portion and peppers were very tasty. A few were spicy but not overwhelmingly. The beef carpaccio was also excellent. We shared a rib steak and an order of lamb chops. The steak was excellent and perfectly cooked. The lamb a bit less so but still quite good. The dishes came with lots of potatoes in different forms. Would have been nice to have more vegetables on the side and less potatoes. The wine selection is limited and all wines are mevushal. So not many Israeli wines available. They would be better off getting permission to put a system in place to serve non-mevushal wines. Dessert was fine - could have been served warmer - and the bread wasn't as hot or fresh testing as might have been expected. The restaurant is quite expensive - in the range of $400 for two for this type of meal. But it is probably one of the best, if not the best options for a fine kosher dining experience in the city. And the service was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Happy to go back for a special occasion!
Marron Bistro is one of our go-to restaurants. Always amazing service, a good amount of specials, especially appetizers. Great steak filet - our favourite. Also love the beef carpaccio and enoki beef rolls. Yummmm. Kosher. Many gluten free options for celiac. A total pleasure. Reservations highly recommended.
Kosher fine dining indeed, the food is excellent, service is adequate, the atmosphere is acceptable, and the price is quite high. I wish there was more of a wine selection - essentially I was only able to choose between a Chianti or Cabernet for a red. However, their cocktail, called je ne sais quoi, was really quite good. Recommended.
We kicked things off with their mouthwatering chips and chumus combo, which paired perfectly with a glass of wine. And oh boy, those chicken wings were out of this world! They were so darn amazing, we practically fought over the last one. Now, the cauliflower wasn't exactly our cup of tea, and maybe needed to be cooked a bit more, but hey, taste buds vary, right? Despite that, we still give Marron Bistro a well-deserved five stars. For the entrée, we ordered their steak with fries. Let us tell you, that steak was cooked to perfection! It was tender, juicy, and had us drooling with every bite. And those fries? Crispy, golden perfection. The only teeny-tiny suggestion we have is to have the sauce served on the side. That way, you can dip your steak as much or as little as you like, instead of the whole thing being on the sweeter side. And to end the night, we had their chocolate lava cake, which was a great way to seal it all!
One of the best meals I probably ever ate! Truly fine bistro dining. The shakootery board was fantastic, my aged steak was cooked to perfection, my wife's flatbread were delicious and the desserts of tiramisu cake was fantastic! I highly recommend treating yourself here.
Need to take some clients out of the city to a nice kosher restaurant - this place was highly recommended. Our experience over all is good, the environment is cozy and comfortable; not like many other dinner place thus restaurant os not loud. food is excellent; all of us give it 9 out of 10. Services is excellent - our waiter Geoff is one of the best - this guys can describe a dish in a such vivid way that you can’t help to order it. He is Just amazing. Entry are around $50-$60 mark. The only reason I give it 4 star is the services towards the end: A few of us had to lingering a little bit after got the check; we were patently out of water, we were there maybe 15 more after the the bills was paid no one had offered us refill water or ask us anything. Kind of feel the customer relationship is done after the bill was paid - the ending could use same level of hospitality like the beginning.
Nice environment the waiters are awesome! The food is great I recommend for sure the wings the steaks also very good although the place is small it's still a good place for dinner.
Amazing waitress; superb cuisine; quiet and intimate.
So good!!
Excelente food and really friendly staff. Dietary restrictions: Kosher Food : 5/5 |
The people and the vibes were nice. The water was the best part, the food was subpar, big waste of money, the servers were great but the food was very bland and had no passion to it
Amazing food Incredible service Best Small fine Dinning in Toronto Food : 5/5
As a business owner, I am aware of How difficult it is to run a food business; however, there are a few essential aspects to this place that I don t think we are coming back to again. Place: The seating was so tight that we couldn t have any personal conversation and enjoy our time. Food: we ordered a few dishes. Lamp pizza: you can see that the chef was trying to create something unique. We didn t like it, and it was missing taste, dry and overpriced for the size and quality. The knives we had for entry dishes were impossible to cut some of the sausage pieces they placed underneath small fry pieces of lamb. Moroccan cigars and pirogi were handmade: and excellent. Mushroom soup: good, too sweet for our taste. Chefs cut stake: $90 We ordered to share and expected some decent sizes for such an amount. It was a perfectly cooked medium rare, BUT was flat, smaller than we expected it to and way too salty! I did mention this to the waiter, and his only response was: I ll mention it to the chef. We paid for our meals and left.
Food was amazing. Service excellent. It is a small intimate place and such can be a bit loud when full, which it was, even on a Monday night. I will definitely return.
This place was much more than meats (pun intended) the eye. The exterior of the restaurant is rustic, but dont let that intimidate you. The inside is sleek and well designed, and the window to the kitchen reassures you about the quality of the food - which was great! The various and unique dishes on the menu are all excellently conceived and made - from the pulled brisket bao buns to the Trini Doubles to the sliders - everything was excellent quality and delicious. Compliments to the pastry chef on the best chocolate lava cake my wife and I have ever eaten. Dietary restrictions: Kosher
New owner has taken this restaurant to the next level. Outstanding food & great service. Best Kosher in Canada.
Probably the best kosher steak house in the city. Very creative dishes. Well situated with lots of parking
We have been after the renovations and the place now has a nice vibe and atmosphere. Food and drinks were amazing!
The best Kosher steakhouse
Great kosher food and service
Pricey but worth it for a special occasion
The place has been renovated, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service is particularly indulgent. Im glad they renovated and renewed the place, it brightened up the whole atmosphere
Great Food and Great Service!
Super friendly staffs, cozy atmosphere. I had a great time. Thanks
I love it
Soooo good
Just had a wonderful dinner with my amazing wife. Everything was outstanding they had a special beef tartare tasted like butter. 100 out of 100.
Celebrated our wedding dinner there last night. Every dish was as good or better than the dish previous. Every one of our guests were absolutely raving about the meal. Highly recommend this restaurant. People left satisfied and full!
Had a wonderful reception meal here after my sisters wedding. The staff was very accommodating and attentive and the food was delicious! It seemed like the courses just kept coming! Their pulled beef in the steamed bao was amazing! My only negatives are parking (either find a paid street spot or paid underground parking across the street) and the washrooms are down a flight a stairs, not on the main floor. Vegetarian options: They have non-meat options and the kitchen will work with you. Dietary restrictions: Strictly Kosher under COR supervision. Parking: Street meter parking or underground paid parking (Green P Garage) across the street.
Amazing kosher dining experience. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and savoury. Only problem is that it s not in Thornhill! Might need to move south just to eat here more often.
Dietary restrictions: Kosher restaurant
Great outing at Marron. Made early reservations and the place filled up behind us. Chicken soup was great. Lamb was a bit overcooked. The risotto was fantastic. Herzog Pinot Noir was an excellent pairing for all of them. Service was amazing! Will be going back!
Great service and delicious food! We loved it thank you!
Took the outdoor patio on a private birthday celebration , the food was delicious the ambiance was great, the staff was professional, fresh quality delicatessen food! Had my employees and friends with me they loved it ! Thank you to the owner to make it happen, recommended !
Marron Bistro is by far my favourite kosher restaurant in Toronto. Every dish is delicious and the service is first class. My husband and I have never tasted a bad dish and that says a lot because were real foodies. I would recommend Marron Bistro to anyone looking for a special occasion meal or even just a great dinner for no reason at all.
Fantastic food and service! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
Beat restaurant ever!!

The best restaurant in Toronto!
One of the Best kosher restaurants I have ever been. First class.
Great food, gracious service, modest dining hall, generous portions and sweet owner. Wonderful experience
The boss gives very good advice. Excellent restaurant.
Excellent Kosher in Toronto. Impeccable service. Tasty and very well prepared food. They present the dishes one better than the other. One of the best Kosher in Toronto.
Great experience.
Great food
slow service, steaks are average, expensive
We celebrated a post wedding dinner here. It was the first time we had been in an inside restaurant since COVID, and it was really special. All our kids were with us, and the staff was really tolerant. The steak was really decent, the salad was dressed right, and the children gobbled up the fries. I wish I could have stayed for desert.
Good food good Service and nice ambiance
Yum...Great service...Amazing food...
I got the spicy wings and mushroom gnocchi. That was good. Didnt love shirt ribs, but wasnt too bad. Dessert I got the trio cakes, was okay.
Great service good food expensive but worth it.
Great food and service
Steak chewy and cc uninspired despite the significant cost. Previously was very good. we would not return based on recent experience
Excellent Kosher fine dining with top notch waiter/waitress.
Good food nice service
Great food. Good service. A bit pricey but worth it for a splurge.
Excellent food, excellent service. Pricey
Kosher meat chef restaurant. The portions are large and high quality with excellent service.
Amazing food and service . Pricey $$$
Excellent service. Outstanding level of detail in their food. Always a pleasure
Long overdue review... but please be aware, we booked this restaurant for our wedding in Oct 2015. Gave them a deposit. Restaurant contacted us a week before the wedding and cancelled our wedding reservation. And it took them another 5 weeks to return our deposit. Not sure how their food is... menu seemed overpriced.
Very nice Ambience fair prices.
Delicious food. No complaints
One of a kind kosher fine dining experience in Toronto
Absolutely amazing kosher place. If youre in Toronto and youd like a great kosher meal, you need not look any farther!
Exquisite cuisine. Top notch service
Expensive but still cheaper than the newer steak restaurant up north
Only if you must eat kosher... To expensive for what you get
Food portions are alright, but a bit pricey
Delicious food, wonderful desert, great selection of wine, fantastic service. We loved the atmosphere and professional service. Our family had a great time this evening. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.
Amazing high profile place good for business and family events.
Great food and service.
Marron Bistro is one of the best kosher restaurants in Toronto. Nice, clean, cozy and popular restaurant with high-quality, varied and very tasty kosher food. The cooks cook delicious food and are professionals in their field. There is parking for cars , and there is also a special parking for disabled people ... Free connection to the Internet WiFi ...
Server was amazing. Food was really delicious. Prices are high but if you looking for a nice experience Marron is a good choice. The one thing that bothered me was the free chips. they were super salty. Overall it was a very nice experience.
IT HAS BEEN MY FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN TO THIS RESTAURANT. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS PLACE. WELL LETS SAY LIKE THIS IF CHEF GORDON REMSEY WOULDVE WALKED INTO THIS PLACE HE WOULDVE GIVIN THEM A MEDEL OF HONOR! AND A SPOT IN LAS VEGAS!THEY DESERVE IT. SO COMING INTO THE PLACE IT LOOKS NICE, CLEAN, NEAT, GREAT MUSIC, NICE LIGHTING AS WELL, EVERY EMPLOYEE IN THERE PLACE, AND NO ONE USEING THERE CELLPHONES, THE FOOD WAS GREAT, WELL SERVED, ON TIME NO DELAY, THE WAITER KNEW THE MENU BY HEART EVEN WITH EVERY INGREDIENT THATS INSIDE! LET ALONE THE COCKTAIL LIKE OMG! BOTTOM LINE I WAS VERY HAPPY COMING HERE. AND I OF COURSE MADE SURE TO TIP THEM $50, AND IM LOOKING FORWARD COMING AGAIN. P.S. I COMPLAINED TO THE WAITER WHY DONT YOU HAVE ANOTHER RESTAURANT LIKE THIS IN THE USA WE ONE LIKE THIS
My husband, and I, really enjoy eating here. Its a cozy spot! With excellent, friendly staff, and delicious food.
This is the best kosher restaurant to get a steak in Toronto. From beginning to end and the food was delicious service was good. The ambience is very nice.
Excellent
Really good food. Great service
Terrible customer service!!!!!! Worst I ever experienced!!!
UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! I was absolutely blown away by the menu; selection, creativity and service was top-notch. Lamb bolognese tacos, beef sliders, beef giyoza, a marvelous coconut colliflower soup, amazing drink menu and the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! Everything was fantastically well balanced in flavour, texture & presentation. Prices were extremely reasonable. $111 for two people (before tip). And the owner is right there on the floor with his wait-staff! Highest, highest praise to the chef. Simply wonderful.
AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. This was the worst meal Ive had in Toronto. The extremely overpriced food ($50-$80 for an entree!) tasted like it was prepared by a fry-cook. Unlike the old Marron which had a classically-trained French chef, the new dishes are very dull and unoriginal. Our dishes did not taste fresh (crusty tough meat, solidified gross gravy). The service was moderately competent (although they made numerous mistakes with orders and information) and more-or-less friendly. Nonetheless, this new iteration of Marron (without the old chef) is the worst value for money Ive experienced in this city. Moreover, even if the dishes were a fraction of the price, the quality still leaves much to be desired.
Excellent Kosher restaurant very upmarket and delicious. Highly recommend it!
We recently ate at this restaurant and enjoyed ourselves. The ambiance is very nice and the food is good. The owner even came over to our table and was very friendly. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and would come back. There were 3 issues that should be dealt with. 1) The wait time between ordering and when the food actually arrives is ridiculously long. 2) We ordered the short ribs and the 20 oz steak. These cuts of meat are really thick. The problem with them being so thick is that we both wanted our meat medium-rare. The rib was well done on the outside and rare on the inside. Forget about pink, this was red inside. The steak was well done on the outside and medium-well done on the inside. 3) The chef needs to work on her grilling if they are going to order such thick cuts of meat. The table over from us had the same issue. As said, we enjoyed ourselves, but for the $$$ we paid, our main course should have been better.
It is indeed expensive but did impress my non observant parents who are hard to please when it comes to food. And when its kosher it already makes them suspicious and prejudice. Marron Bistro impressed them to the point that they said theyd eat there all the time despite the fact that its kosher. They like meat and they were talking about it for days (the veal that they had) after our visit there. The cauliflower soup was superb. Service was excellent. My parents insisted on going to an upscale fancy place and this one was perfect. We were there with our kids and I will tell you it is not a place to just go and feed a hungry brood because portions are beautiful but not huge. It IS however a place to go for a date and enjoy extraordinary experience of excellent cuisine and courteous service.
Last night I sat down for what I think may have been one of the best meals I have ever had. Drinks!!! We had a variety these amazing fizzy cocktails, made on site. They were fruit based, completely organic, fizzy, and seriously delicious. On the table, we got these heavenly crisdpy sweet potato chips served with homemade salsa and guacamole. We got a beautifully presented charcuterie platter that I didnt try but our entire table was raving over it. Then we had this delicious grilled, ground lamb paninis with cucumber tehina, scotched eggs, and these crunchy house-made tostadas with pulled beef. I had the 10oz ribeye steak, and it was perfectly cooked, chicago style with a cured egg and these delicious thin hand cut fries... We finished off with a black current liquor which was fruity delicious and a perfect palette cleanser. We had a combination of a homemade made eclairs, mango gelato and the yummiest blueberry cheesecake I ever had. The food is all presented on these really cool wood or porcelain slabs and seriously looks like ART. The service was super professional, courteous, attentive and the experience was the epitome of fine dining...
Ill start off by saying I am extremely critical when it comes to food; especially in premium restaurants which charge a premium for good food....I expect only the best. When we first arrived the service staff were incredibly friendly and warm. I was able to bring my own bottle of Kosher Mevushal (pasteurized) wine for a moderate corking fee and offered a decanter for aeration. The appetizers were incredible. We had the spring rolls, something I typically am not crazy about, but these were clearly an exception. I ordered their 28 day aged chefs cut of prime rib and was also able to try the 6oz filet, which was incredible. Initially my steak, ordered medium, came back well done, and without me even having to ask, it was immediately noted by the waiter upon my initial cut and was taken back without hesitation. A new one was brought to me which was cooked perfectly and was extremely tasty. They use cast iron skillets to cook their steaks and clearly have knowledge of what a steak is supposed to taste like. One critique of the wait staff I would say is that they seemed to make errors regarding the menu items, but that is because the chef changes up the menu every day (another plus for me at least). Small things like (pecan vs chocolate cream for desert, and sous vide egg on the steak vs no egg). Regardless, for the inconvenience my table was offered complimentary strawberry cocktails and a complimentary desert. The deserts were fantastic as well. Location: 9/10 Ambiance: 8.5/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Value for what you get 10/10. Price range: Mid to high. I would definitely recommend to a friend and am looking forward to going back. FINALLY, a kosher restaurant in Toronto which meets and possibly beats the levels of some of the finest kosher New York restaurants. Thank you Marron Bistro, keep them steaks coming!
Great service and friendly staff but be prepared to pay big premium for kosher.
Went for dinner with friends to Marron Bistro. We had an amazing dinner. The appetizers were fabulous. The main course was so tasty and the desserts to die for. They had a great selection of wines and cocktails. Highly recommend for any occasion. Would be a great place for a office holiday party. They also offer a great lunch menu. Looking forward to going back!
Fantastic small upscale dining experience. The last of its kind in Toronto. Perfect place for special events.
Quiet, comfortable and elegant. Food was delicious and served with a smile. Will definitely be going back.
Great food.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, always a great choice!
Went there for a family dinner. The burger was small and dry. It was topped with some weird meat?! I dont think anybody in our party enjoyed their food. It was ridiculously expensive as well. Ambiance was nonexistent. I cannot understand how this place stays in business.
AMAZING. I cant possibly emphasize enough how wonderful both my experiences have been at Marron Bistro. The staff was so incredibly generous, attentive, knowledgable and downright sweet, that I was actually astounded. Everything else about the dining experience is so delightful that I would probably have been satisfied even if the food wasnt exceptional - but it was. In short, I LOVE MARRON BISTRO!
