Imaginative yet rooted in tradition, Leña’s cuisine showcases the vibrant essence of South American cooking, with unique Spanish and Italian influences. It, along with our stylish design, warm character and lively tunes, promotes a “live to eat” ethos and fosters a convivial spirit at the table. Above all, Leña celebrates authentic, flavourful food and drink, enjoyed amongst old and new friends.
Wish this place was better. We wanted to like it, but the service was mediocre, we got our food before our drinks. The empanadas were excellent, the scallops were good, but the ceviche was mushy and the Mahi mahi skin wasn’t crispy and the corn mash underneath was odd and cold. Would not recommend or return.
The vibrant atmosphere and cheerful attitude of the front-of-house staff definitely made us feel welcome. Beautiful interior with a lovely eye-catching bar in the centre. The place was packed on a Wednesday night. Our server, Raul, was very good. Given how busy the place was, he was very attentive, obviously a very experienced professional server. The food was excellent. The roasted mushrooms were beautifully presented and there was some depth to their flavour profile. Flat iron steak and frites were both perfectly done! The restaurant seemed quite loud at the beginning, however, once settled in, it was fine. I recommend this restaurant.
The Veal was delicious. A lot of great flavor on the dish ! I ordered a drink at happy hour, it was mediocre. It tasted great but a but skimpy on the rum. The food was fantastic though. They have a very cool bar setup in the middle of the restaurant.
We went there for a group lunch and ordered Fixed Menu (appetizer, main and desserts). Each course has three to four choices. Food doesn’t blow you away but is decent in both taste and quantity. The only course that surprised us (not in the good way) is a strawberry dessert. While other desserts are quite good in size, this one has only 4 strawberries and a handful walnuts. We had a good laugh. We were seated upstairs and the only table there, but we weren’t neglected. It actually enabled us to have vivid conversations without fearing disturbing other people. Overall a good place for some decent food.
One of my absolute favourite restaurants in the heart of downtown Toronto. They serve a small selection of traditional Spanish food, as well as a diverse drink menu. I’ve visited this establishment about 6-8 times, and each time, the food is made to perfection and the service is excellent and quick. Also, I highly recommend trying their churros (the best I’ve had in the city). In addition to their main dining area / bar, they have an additional speakeasy-style dining area in the lower floor, mainly active during dinner time (highly recommend reserving a seat there). They also have a larger dining area on the floor above, so even when it’s busy, there is always a table available. Overall, highly recommend for a night out or celebrations.
Came as part of the summerlicious event. Did not end up participating because their regular menu have more items. Appetizer was recommended by our server and it was very filling and tasty. Our mains were a bit disappointing though. Both salmon and chicken were dry and flavourless; the vegetables and sauces on the side seem to be the star of the dishes. The service was also a bit slow since our cups were empty half the time. With the price I expected a better experience especially in such a beautiful restaurant. Will not return.
Came for summerlicious and quite enjoyed the nice selection across the 3 courses. My favourite was the gaucho pie. The mushroom they used has a great smokey flavour and satisfying chew. The steak main was good and the frites were cut really finely and seasoned with a ton of flavour. Our table also really enjoyed the poached strawberries for the dessert.
Great interior, but surprised and disappointed to see a burger on the menu.. regardless, the food we ordered was good, not terrible or great. The best item was the egg on top the rib eye steak. Yam/cassava has a comforting fried flavor.
Great ambiance with great service! We ordered the empanadas which were amazing, we also really enjoyed the churros for dessert. Only our entrees steak and veal were a bit too salty for us. Overall would recommend for a night out.
When I made a reservation at Lena, I mentioned in the booking that my father had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and that he was determined to start living life to the fullest. The first thing he wanted to do was revisit Lena, a restaurant he cherished from years ago. While I didnt have any specific requests, I mentioned that great service would mean a lot to us. From the moment we arrived, the team at Lena went above and beyond to make our experience special. They seated us in the best booth in the restaurant. The staffs warmth and attentiveness were immediately apparent, making us feel welcomed. One of the highlights was when they allowed my father to order a meal intended for two, Aurora s chicken, just for himself, while I chose the noqui. This thoughtful gesture made him feel special and allowed him to enjoy his favorite meal. Our server was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. In a particularly touching moment, she even remade his coffee because he was in the restroom when it had cooled down. I was so moved by the kindness of the staff that I found myself tearing up as I thanked her for making our time so special. I felt a bit embarrassed for crying, but she was so compassionate. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. To top it all off, the chef came out to say hello, which was such a lovely gesture. Overall, our experience at Lena was wonderful and memorable. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere made it a perfect outing for my father. I am incredibly grateful to the staff for making this meal special during such a challenging time. I highly recommend Lena to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Thank you, Lena, for creating a beautiful memory for us.
There was coffee on the menu but it was never served or offered Parking: Take ttc Food : 4/5 |
As highlighted by many reviews earlier, the food does need a lot of improvement! It has no taste, and doesn t look appealing at all! I thought of giving it one last chance by ordering desserts in the end and got churros and alfajores. Let s just say I ve had much better churros for much less than what I paid here! I feel like I wasted my money.
I had brunch here. The food has a Latin American influence. Even though its not spot on Latin American, the chef managed to create the next best, flavourful thing. He uses good quality, fresh ingredients. The empanadas were very good. Again, a nice twist using the locally available ingredients. The server was nice, polite, and attentive. The place is set around this impressive, old-style decorated structure at the center of the room. Might be from the 1930s. Adds to the charm of the whole experience. Even though the place was almost full, the high ceilings allow to hear the conversation. It was an overall great experience. Thank you, chef! Gracias, che!
My husband and I dined here on Friday and it was a lovely experience. Rachel, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu items and offered great service. We had the fried cauliflower, flat iron steak, and churros. Everything was delicious and we would 100% go again! Vegetarian options: The fried cauliflower is a delicious vegetarian option - Im not vegetarian but I opted for one of the vegetarian options because it looked so tasty!
So at first look this place look amazing classy. You sit down your excited then I order appetizer and 2 meals. If you order anything with meat you will stare at your plate and wonder if they forgot it?? Then the bill come and it was 170 with tip. Food was bland. I could make everything they served but better and for have that price with way more on a plate.. rip off .
Attended a work event. This restaurant has an excellent interior. The food we tried was delicious and they have awesome service.
My daughter and I had a fantastic dinner. Our server was amazing....very helpful and welcoming. We shared a variety of apps which were all unique and delicious. We look forward to returning to Leña!
Great spot and interior. Food and drinks were underwhelming. It was a 50/50 with some dishes being pretty good and some being not that great. Panna cotta was not set properly or needed more gelatin but tasted good. Empanadas were not that great. Barely any meat inside. Cevicha was awesome! Burger and fries and gnocchi were ok. Cocktails are ok. I think this side of town is just tired. Sticking to tjr west end.
Excellent restaurant in the financial district, just off of Queen and Yonge street. The service is quick and the food preparation was good. Attended an event here in their lounge area. Highly recommended!
I attended a private event here and not only did the quality of the food pleasantly surprise me, but the staff was super hands-on and helpful! I would recommend this place for anyone looking to host an event in downtown Toronto - you ll get the best bang for your buck.
I just stop here for drinks, excellent bar service! Recommend for dates or business after parties
Good vibe.. tasty food
Stay away from the flat iron steak. The chips have a ton of salt and the steak is almost tasteless.
We were invited to a private celebration tonight. We had a private room upstairs. The room was amazing. The set up was great. Our group was 40 ppl and there was plenty of room to move around. The appetizers that came out were mini sliders (spicy) I didn t have my husband siad they were good. Calamari with a aioli sauce. They were superb. There were roasted potatos as well. The main course we had pasta with ricotta cheese ribs potatoes mushroom and another mixed vegetables plus salad. The meat was super tender and flavourful. The highlight for me were the mixed mushrooms. Those were amazing. I found the salad over dressed and a bit soggy. Then desserts came. There were mini brownies (THE BEST) mini cheese cake and tons of mixed fruit. The service was top notch. The servers were so aware of pictures or videos being done they made sure to walk around Over all I was very impressed Abby all aspects of this restaurant. We came from North Thornhill lol so it was over an hour to get here. If you want a very nice dinner with the environment too. This is definitely the place to be. Thank you the restaurant for an an amazing evening.
Lovely art deco , both comfortable and stylish. Attentive and efficient service. Our appetizers ( mushrooms and yuca fries) were delicious, especially the yuca fries. Churros were the best Ive had and really is a must here. Entrees were nice to look at but on the average side; too salty.
Pretty good dinner. Interior was gorgeous. Cocktail was the star of the show! The nõqui was good but I thought it would be creamier, its very salty.
Came during lunch so the menu was different than dinner. Got the gnocchi but it wasn t really advertised as it since they wrote ricotta dumpling in the description. Felt like the gnocchi was a little too soft for my liking. Sauce was good with acidity to balance the creaminess.
Great service, friendly staff and allows laptops!
The best restaurant in Toronto hands down. Lunch is always a treat. The dinner menu is outstanding, would highly recommend the rabbit. The wine is delicious. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated. All the staff are incredibly friendly. Theres a hidden cocktail bar in the basement, an upper level, and gorgeous seating areas around the main floors.
Delicious empanadas! Uff Recommend 100% Food reminded me of my trip to Spain!
Simply delicious! Our group had several appetizers and main. The food was fantastic. The rib steak for two is unbelievable!! The service was very good! Oddly the prices werent as high as I expected, so that pleasantly surprised me as well. I highly recommend this place!
1 old fashioned $25 Service
Beautiful atmosphere with some Stellar food! Food
Yesterday, I went to Lena restaurant to celebrate my friends birthday. I had made a reservation in advance and when I arrived early, the manager warmly welcomed me and made sure everything was set for our celebration. When my friend arrived, we were greeted with a glass of delicious prosecco to kick off the birthday celebration. The waitress was very knowledgeable and patiently explained the menu to us. We ordered some appetizers and main courses, and everything was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional and I will definitely be adding this restaurant to my list of favorite places to dine.
My recent dining experience at Lena Restaurant was disappointing due to how frequently we were interrupted. In the middle of our meal, staff approached us 5-6 times within just 30 minutes, asking if we wanted more drinks or if we were done with our plates. We ordered two main dishes, a salad and two drinks. Total bill $130-150 around. We haven t finished the steak yet. It felt like they were rushing us, making it hard to enjoy the meal. Totally ruined my birthday celebration experience with my friend. We were pissed off and left very soon. When I walked out the restaurant, the staff even stared at us in poor attitude.
Wow the food here is phenomenal, I can say for certain Ive never had potatoes that tasted this good. Will definitely visit again.
Unfortunately cannot comment on food, service nor atmosphere as they decided to close up over an hour before listed time on a Saturday night.
Great drinks and ambiance, our bartender Anaesthesia and the manager Krista were amazing!
Amazing location, brilliant food and fantastic service. Our waiter was Raoul who was responsive, proactive and very pleasant. He delivered on a special birthday request. Overall I would recommend this place.
The service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious. The rabbit was very close to what my mother cooked. They had a good selection of wine and beer. The atmosphere was open and airy. Having a table by the street window was great to watch the world go by.
Exceptional food. Exceptional drinks. Exceptional service. Exceptional atmosphere. This was a fantastic experience that will have me looking to return when next I come back to Toronto. 11/10, highly recommend.
Book a lunch reservation with multiple people at around noon. Restaurant wasnt busy, food was good! I had the Choripân, which was delicious! We also got some churros and shortbread cookies for desert.
Today I attended an event on the lower level of the restaurant. It was 8:15pm when the event ended and we wanted to get some real food on the main level of the restaurant. And they didn t want to serve us, because we were coming from another event held in the restaurant!!! This is the restaurant POLICY!!!! I don t recommend this restaurant, it s very poor service, just AVOID it. We ended up a few streets over, at a beautiful Italian restaurant.
Spent happy hour & dinner here. Its a loud place but could be because we were seated in the bar area. HH is just some bar bites and suggested drinks. Dont expect any discounts... youre downtown. Seafood (dinner portions) are ultra small - more like share plate size. Didnt try meat mains.
Cool location, delicious food and good drinks
Sat at table next to kitchen even though we made reservations weeks before. Our chairs were actually in the doorway. A strong fish smell impacted our table. Only vehement complaints, that we would not return, got us a better table. Steak was good but a bit tough. Ricotta dumplings were reasonably good, but accompanying sauce was tasteless. It was supposed to feature a cream sauce, but sauce had the texture and taste of water. Leeks were abundant, filling the plate, and still a bit crunchy. Jamon appetizer, was slices of jamon. Thats it. No olives or fruit, or even bread. Aside from a lovely room, the whole evening was hugely disappointing.
Did not meet the expectations. Mediocre service. Giving 4 stars just because the food tasted good but nothing extraordinary, and decent-sized portion. Would go somewhere else for a dining experience. Food
Nice setting but food is borderline inedible. I got a beef tar tar that was grey... Food : 1/5
Very Latin. Good music and customer service
I planned a cocktail reception/party to celebrate our elopement (a happily ever after party) at Bar Lala. We are thrilled with how the event turned out! Bar Lala is the space downstairs in Lena Restaurant, and is available to use for events with a minimum spend. The staff on-site were so friendly and professional, and Krista (the on-site coordinator we had) was absolutely amazing! She helped set everything up to look beautiful, and was there to figure out some last minute details. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect and the space was great! Everyone had a wonderful time, and we are so happy we chose Bar Lala for our special event. I would totally recommend this venue for an event! Five stars for the venue, staff and food! However, I had to take off a star for the planning process, which I would actually rate closer to 2 stars. The event specialist I had to coordinate with repeated information, got our event mixed up with others, and left things until the last minute/forgot (or ignored) details and questions we had. Some questions I had to ask multiple times. This made planning confusing and very disorganized, and for a fairly simple event, made the process overly complicated. So just a warning to brides, *if I were planning an actual wedding reception, I would have been even more stressed and frustrated, and I would not recommend the O&B event specialist I had for planning an event.*
Extremely good, fair price for the quality, recommand the salmon in particular. The place looks good and exceptional service, definetely a fine place to have dinner in Toronto for sure !
Last night was one of the best dining experiences Ive had recently. The interior was pleasant, with something eye-catching in every corner. The food was delicious, we ordered salad, steak, chicken, pasta, and cheesecake, and everyone loved their meal. The quality and portion sizes were spot on. The hosts were friendly and polite, and we really enjoyed sitting and chatting. Overall, we were very happy with our experience.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. However service was rough and extremely slow. The food was also not good. Our dishes ranged from bland to inedible and totally undercooked. Also, the staff don t seem to be on the same page about several topics. For example, our reservation was for 8:15pm on a Saturday night and when we arrived the waitress promptly told us that last call for entrees was 8:30pm which seemed bizarre to us so we asked the host and turns out last call for entrees was actually 10pm. Also, we were going to celebrate our friend s birthday so we called ahead and asked if we could bring a cake as some restaurants don t allow outside food. The man we spoke to said we could bring it and that there would be a cake cutting fee if we wanted the kitchen staff to cut it. We didn t need the kitchen staff to cut it, so after our entrees we asked the waitress if we could have knives and forks to cut it ourselves at which point she said we d have to pay a cutting fee of $3-4 per person. Despite us telling her that the staff member we spoke to in advance said something very different, she still refused. Overall, super unfortunate experience and I truly hope they improve the quality of their food and provide more training for the staff so that this place can live up to its potential.
Came as a party of 9 for a friend s a birthday dinner. My partner and I got the prix fix menu which included an appetizer, entree and desert. We ordered everything at once upfront. The appetizer and entree were both delicious - although the heirloom tomato salad was okay. Not amazing. Unfortunate part was that the server forgot to bring our dessert! We didn t say anything as we were already running a bit late to our post dinner plans (and not everyone ordered dessert at the table). Would have been nice to try but we didn t feel it was worth holding up a portion of the group.
Come for a friends birthday dinner on Friday evening. There were 9 of us sitting at the table and my fiance and I got the fixed menu option. I ordered all of my dishes upfront: empanadas, steak and cheesecake. The empanadas were quite nice, steak was good, and dessert.. well I wouldn t know, it never came. Weird because it was part of the fixed menu option.. We were the only ones with the fixed menu so we thought they gave us the bills because everyone else was done eating so they wanted to settle the table and would come back with our dessert after the fact... but hey never came back. After a little while of waiting we had to make a move to get to the next reso we had and I couldn t find anyone to talk to about this as we were on our way out - all the staff was running around (understandably as it was a busy Friday night) A shame because it was otherwise a nice experience but to forget to serve one whole course is unacceptable in my eyes. Especially when it was all punched in together in one go - don t know how you could miss that.
Service was not good. Food was adequate, but did NOT like the corn nuts on the scallops. Will most definitely not be back.
We came here for a corporate event. I can t really put my finger on exactly what I didn t like about the food, but the flavours were just not good. I had an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert, and all three of them were less than what I expected for a venue like this. It was not just me being fussy, most of my table mates felt the same way.
I m on the fence with most reviews, the service was really odd here. My friend and I came in for happy hour, we were seated at the bar, even before I got there she ordered a drink for me and told me how awkward the bartender was. When I arrived there was no greeting just the male bartender saying is this your wine we also noticed a lot of staff giving weird glances to guests and bar patrons. The service was also lack luster no smiles or engagement from the bartenders and almost like an annoyance you re sitting there. They also seemed to have a chip on their shoulder, I don t think I ll be back the service was very off putting.
Everything was perfect except for the host who was rude and racist, he saw us struggling to get the door open with a stroller and he stood there without trying to help and he was eyeballing us the whole time like we didn t belong here !I don t really know is it because we re Arab or is it because we re a family with a toddler and infant, either way it s racist and shouldn t happen to anyone to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in a restaurant we re paying to enjoy! It could ve been worse but Raul our waiter saved the night with his welcoming attitude Be careful not to come if you re a family unless you re ok if you want to feel ashamed that you re a parent !!
We had Mahi-Mahi steak served on a sweet warm bed of grilled broccoli, green onion, capers, pinenuts, currants, corn humitas. Wild sock eye salmon served with piquillo pepper, butter beans, green olives, guindilla peppers For apps we had Butter Lettuce Salad and Daily soup which was warm cauliflower soup All in all a great experience of wine and dine. An eloquent spanish vibe with food, drinks and music. For drinks we shared Voodoo Juice and Corpse Reviver We finished our meals with warm spiced chocolate spiced churros. Id definitely go there again for the drinks and desserts. I wish the seating was a little more spanish themed and more comfortable.
Amazing food and excellent service !
Fantastic food for great value considering how high end this meal was!
Food is always excellent here
Love place to visit! Food was good. Portion size was also okay
Amazing experience , everything was perfect
Really disappointing experience. The service was inconsistent and disorganized, and we kept on having to ask for things e.g. wed order something and it would never show up, or we asked for the bill and it never came. The food was not worth the price. Felt like a downtown expense account restaurant -- expense account prices without the quality. We were too close to the tables next to us and the whole place is too loud. Spend your money somewhere else.
My friends and I went to Lena and had their 3 course meal. All of us felt sick. The service was great, however the food caused us problems. It might be a kitchen handling issue. Not worth 60$ of my money. What was also weird was the smell of the elevator. It smelled horrible, and no one did anything about the smell.
Ordered the short rib hash. Was very mediocre. Main orders were never punched into the kitchen so we had to take everything to go. Short rib was dry and really fatty. It s also not a hash what so ever (maybe rename the dish).
Came on a busy Saturday evening and was impressed by the quick service! We only came for appetizers and drinks, both were very tasty.
Had a great experience at the bar. Great food, he made the drinks I wanted that werent on the menu. Great atmosphere.
The Broken avocado salad was surprisingly good, the Yuca fries was interesting, worth trying out. Busy and nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
well made cocktails, Civiche and best empanadas
Stopped in for breakfast assume food fast and friendly service i recommend this place to all my friends
First time eating at this restaurant. We were seated at a tiny table with tiny chairs, and we asked to be moved (which they quickly accommodated). We ordered the Argentine eggplant appetizer but was disappointed that it was pickled without mention on the menu (and tasted awful). However the food was redeemed when we ordered the rib eye for 2 (very pricey at $145). It was delicious and well prepared. The restaurant was noisier than expected with no pleasant background music. Chairs were either screeching or getting stuck in the tile joints when customers got up. Brutal. Service was average.
Heard mixed reviews about this place. Came for happy hour with some friends. The cocktails/drinks were fun creative and flavourful. The snacks were decent but not all that special. Had the burger which had good flavour but the bun was quite dry. The fries were actually a highlight!
Delicious food and friendly people
Very nice place highly recommend also a good location food are different amazing taste of Argentina
My friends and I came for summerlicious dinner with cocktails. I got the elderberry pisco sour, heirloom pisco salad, flat iron steak, and vanilla poached strawberries and they were all so yummy and did not disappoint! The only thing was that if their meatballs came in a greater portion as an entree it would ve been more filling. Our waiter came to check on us very frequently to see if we needed anything so service was great!
Great food in an upscale venue.
Atmosphere 5 , Customer service 5 Food 3/5. I was here for Summerlicious (July 2024) and was disappointed in the options for what is an O&B restaurant. Especially having travelled to South America and familiar with Latin food. Drinks: sangria - wasnt as citrus as I expected. Appetizer: crab and butter bean salad... As you can see from the picture very little crab and way too much beans (maybe having pictures of each item would be helpful for better selection of items). Main: Atlantic cod & DELICIOUS fish. The arroz rice is typically a flavor if its own that seemed over flavoured by the basil. Dessert: Coconut cake - delicious and unique! Definitely took me mentally to Latin places! Vegetarian options: Yes available Wheelchair accessibility: It would be pretty tight very crowded space with tables close by
If I could give zero stars on service I would. Our server was inattentive, bordering on rude. We were there for two hours, didnt recieve any water refills, or ask if we wanted to order more drinks when they were empty. The food was just ok. Not great, not terrible. For the price I expected better. I honestly cannot get over how rude the server was. If you are looking for yummy tapas, cute atmosphere and great service, check out Madrina Bar y Tapas in the distillery district instead.
2024 update Went for summerlicious with our teens. Lunch was delicious. The pork shoulder sandwich is a must try as is the empanada and the white chocolate orange tart. The Pina collada cake was a bit underwhelming after everything else being so great. Service top notch as always. 2020 -Amazing. My hubby and I ate in the main floor bar looking out to Young St. Staff was fantastic. We shared multiple plates... calamari fantastic, empanadas best ever, burger and fries... wow. Too many things that were just awesome too list. Just go.
If you are downtown looking for great food ambience and music. This is it Food : 5/5
My husband and I booked a private dining room - Sala Dos - for our wedding. The food was spectacular, the staff were attentive, anticipated our needs and so so friendly, the food was sooooo good - all our family and kids enjoyed the family style menu. We will be back for our anniversary. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower Ala Plancha, Mushroom Empanadas and Yuca Fries - soooo good Parking: Parking as down the street from the venue - guests could reserve spot in advance Kid-friendliness: We have 5 kids - ages 10 to baby - the staff were so friendly and the kids loved the kids menu option - pasta or mini burgers. Wheelchair accessibility: My grandma uses a wheelchair and they had an elevator to the washrooms and dining room
Fair price, good taste.
Food was mediocre, but service was just bad. What s the attitude ridiculous
Went to a wedding at Lenas. Food and atmosphere absolutely fantastic! The real standout is the service!! In particular is Deigo! Outstanding service anticipating every guests needs before they even knew they had one! Most standout service Ive had in ages! He made every guest feel like a VIP!!! Book your event or wedding at Lenas, you will not be disappointed!!!
Great food. A little loud to talk but not unexpected! Excellent service.
1st update: 3.5 -> 2. Tried more food here and still disappointed. Waiter tried to kick us out although we order more stuff and the place still have so many empty tables. FOOD: disappointing. Butter lettuce salad: extremely sour, way too much lemon juice in it. Albacore Tuna Crudo: again way too acidic, cant taste any other flavor. Its a combination of things dont really go well together. Flat Iron Steak: salty and burned. Fries is pretty good though. Beef tartare: quite bland and nothing special. Oysters: does not worth it, the oysters were tiny and overpriced. Burnt cheesecake: the only thing tasty. I love how smooth it is and goes so well with the berry sauce. DRINKS: decent, quite a lot of cocktails options. Empress: dont really recommend this drink. Taste like lemon soda with some purple color in it. VIBE: nice upscale restaurant, theres a bar downstairs. The place surrounded by large window. We got a seat by the window on the long couch. However the table is very close and the table beside could join in our conversation which is very annoying. SERVICE: very nice, they offered me to do coat check for me right when they saw my coat laying on the chair.
Everything was great for a first experience. I only had to wait a little to long to be served at the table.
The food was too fancy for me. High prices, low portions. I guess its a good place for business, but not really for leisure. Staff were super friendly and had great service, the atmosphere was also very chill, open and bright.
Little too salty.
Hosted an event in Sala Uno for my organization EZRA Coaching. We had about 30 guests and arranged for a wine tasting with food pairing and dinner. I would give service 3 only because the pre arrangements couldve been better..as we hosted a panel discussion, the suggestions for a long tabled seating wasnt favourable and upon arrival, the setup wasnt as we had discussed. I would however give our sommelier 10/10 as she did a fantastic job sharing the history, the wine tasting was fun and engaging and a perfect way to kickstart the event. Our guests really enjoyed themselves. Food was great to be paired and food afterwards as well was nice. If youre hosting an intimate private event downtown, I would highly recommend it. Thank you!
The place has decent ambience but the staff is not polite at all . Considering it s a fine dining the basic etiquette of treating the guest were not present . The whole experience was not up-to the mark . Food
I recently attended a private lunch event at Lena. The 3-course meal was beautifully presented and it was delicious. Excited to try their À la carte menu!
Was in Toronto for the weekend and went here Saturday night for late dinner and cocktails. A bit fancier here and more expensive but not too fancy and too expensive. All the staff were super friendly and respectful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night dinner, would go again if I was in the area.
The service wasn t bad but it was spoiled at the end when the waiter lied about their gratuity policy and made me tip a specific amount. He told me that if I use a gift card, it s automatically 18%. I asked if this was policy and he said yes. I was very sceptical but didn t want to make a scene but I emailed customer service and they said paying with gift card is like a credit card, I.e no tipping policy. So it s very clear that he lied just to ensure he gets a good tip. The food was fine. The place is very nice. But I will never go back because of this. It s just unethical.
We wanted lettuce salad as an entrée, along with hamon, the amount of hamon was quite small. The main dishes we ate were beef and stew seafood. Our meat was cooked really well..
Wonderful food, and they are setup extremely well for large groups with many private rooms and venues. A great experience overall.
I recently visited Leña for the first time, and I was greeted by a welcoming atmosphere as soon as I walked in. The spacious layout and comfortable ceiling added to the overall appeal of the restaurant. However, my dining experience was a mix of highs and lows. The food at Leña left much to be desired, with a rating of six or maybe five out of 10. While the menu had potential, the execution fell short of expectations. Its clear that there is room for improvement in the culinary department. One aspect that significantly impacted my visit was the customer service. Unfortunately, the service was lacking, with delays in getting simple orders like coffee. Waiting 15 minutes for a cup of coffee can be frustrating and detract from the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Leña has great potential with its inviting ambiance, but there are clear areas that need improvement, particularly in the food quality and customer service. With some adjustments and attention to detail, this restaurant could truly shine and provide a more satisfying dining experience for its patrons.
Beautiful restaurant
Love coming here after work for their happy hour! Their pisco sour is my favourite cocktail, but all their drinks are made well. The decor and atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very attentive.
Lena Restaurant was excellence! I went for brunch. Avocado & Toast, and Churros. The cost was reasonable.
This restaurant is amazing. I think its one of the best in all of toronto
Food was amazing, except for my salmon (it was tasteless and very small portion). Other than that I d highly recommend Leña for a family/friends or date evening . Food
Really cool art deco interior style. Food was pedestrian and average. Cocktails were nice, pricey. The space is gorgeous.
It was okay. I had been there before and food was about better. I think maybe it was the options available for happy hour? Drinks were good and server was wonderful as was the atmosphere.
Great vibes and cocktails! Our server was very nice and her service was top notch! Food - hugely disappointed! Everything from spaghetti to eggplant to potatoes was loaded with salt. So much that after first bite, our lips and tongue started to get tingling sensation. Disappointed to say because we had high expectations! Only good stars for vibe of place and our server!
Busy restaurant and nice for a sit down business meal. Menu is nice and short so it makes it easier if you are the indecisive type. Seating space is a bit tight here. We were seated on the upper level so it was nice to overlook the restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere. It was also quite busy during our lunch so service was a bit on the slower end and it took some time to flag the server for the final bill. I ordered a main dish and a couple of sharable appetizers. I actually enjoyed the appetizers more than my main dish.
My friend and I sat for drinks yesterday afternoon. The lady who served us was the most professionally service person weve ever encountered. I didnt get her name as I declined my receipt but she was tall, slim and wearing black. She always smiled and was quite attractive. Ron Jones.
The bartender who served us was excellent. He took pride in his craft, which was so nice to see. Cocktails were spectacular and food was great. We will be back
Absolutely beautiful atmosphere!
One of the better spots in the financial district. Such a unique place and culinary influences, both South American and European. I love the shishito peppers and many of the tapas. The short rib hash at lunch delicious. I really like the sea food pasta too. Too bad the octopus is not on the menu these days
So as I was there accompanied by my friend I was fascinated by nice layout and the staff are welcoming and friendly, weve been served my a kind lady that she was looking after us at all times, very considerate of us. The food it wasnt surprising us, but the drinks and the environment it did!
A bit expensive but was a good service
Despite its prominent location in the financial district, the overall experience was a let down! I attended a private dinner event and the service was mediocre. Especially disappointing was the laissez-faire attitude of not agreeing to a simple request of substituting protein to accommodate shellfish allergies. Given the myriad of options available in the vicinity, I wont be returning anytime soon.
Delucious food, friendly staff and great (inside) location!
The food is really good, we liked everything we tried. The fries with chimichurri were spectacular, the meat was also delicious and tender. The chicken may have been missing something, but it was delicious, and the mashed potatoes were very good. The modern, pleasant and cozy place. Good treatment. I recommend trying it.
Beautiful restaurant
The food, the environment and the service were great.
Had a fantastic time this past Monday evening! Daniel the bartender was knowledgeable about cocktails and dinner specials. I had the surf and turf seafood special with a tenderloin steak and Argentinian shrimp. The dish was delicious, steak was incredibly tender and the shrimp was flavourful. The service was lovely, the ambiance was great! Do yourselves a favour and come in :) you won t be disappointed!
Came here with a group of girlfriends for a brunch bachelorette and we had a great time. Enjoyed my beef empanadas from the brunch menu that was flavorful & great presentation. My friend found the lemon chicken a bit too bland. Beautiful space, good service (the servers took a ton of pics for our group, very timely service, attentive to allergies/diet restrictions) and we got some churros for dessert with congrats written out on the plate. The espresso martini was the best I ve had in a while too!
Leña Restaurante offers an exceptional dining experience with top-notch Latin American dishes, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere. Highly recommend for food lovers!
Good
Food is mediocre. Nothing special at all.
Visited a few times mostly because of interior design and location. Food is average, service is good.
Food is really good here, the atmosphere is amazing and is such a nice place to grab a drink or have a nice dinner. The service is what really sets this place apart, wow. Every employee we had contact with went above and beyond what you would normally expect, great job to everyone! I highly recommend this restaurant! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
Offered coffee while performing services
Place with a normal price in the region, but its not worth it, because the drinks are weak, tasteless and have no fun. The food is not bad, but its not special, what saved was dessert, the churros.
A beautiful restaurant. Went for dinner before the theatre; we allowed 1.5 hours but could have used more time. My daughter had the avocado salad with side of chicken which came with a full breast of chicken - she really enjoyed it and was a generous serving. I had the special which was a beef filet on sautéd spinach on parsnip purée with a spicy sauce - it was beyond amazing; I enjoyed every morsel. We did not have time for dessert but the server offered us to have our coffee to go which was appreciated. Overall I would definitely return but allow more time.
The steak was cooked to perfection. Love the vibes at this place.
Lovely place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Some happy hour cocktails went down very easy. Thank you NightBar90 - best Argentinian bartender I ve met for a while!!
I always have a great experience at Lena! Our server Raul was extremely Knowledgeable on the menu and very friendly. They created us specialty cocktails which were so fresh and flavourful. The food was delicious and very accommodating to my celiac allergy. The portions were generous and everything was amazing. They even had a gluten free cheesecake which was delicious! Can t wait to go back
Tried the empanada, the Lena paleta cocktail and the elderflower pisco sour. They were all really good. There s also a bar downstairs (bar lala). Service was great as well.
Took some clients out for lunch here and overall, we were disappointed. The space is beautiful with each room offering its own personality and tasteful designs. Some of the starters were tasty but three of us were not satisfied with our mains. The main disappointment was the ham sandwich, it didn t seem like much effort was put into it and the sauce and olives it was served with seemed misplaced. The prices were fair. I d give it a redemption shot for dinner.
Lovely place and food, I loved the chimichurri, the ambience and service. Looking forward to come back.
Shishito and Empanadas were awesome!
Awful customer carel! As soon as got there, the host told us that It was a 45 minutes waiting. Almost blocked us! I saw an almost empty bar . I asked her if the bar is available to eat? She told us yes. First impression was like she was reluctant to welcome people. We placed the order and the dishes came late and individually like drops. We waited1:15 minutes for a quesadillas. No connection between the bar and the kitchen. We cancel the quesadillas and left
Fantastic atmosphere but overpriced and pretentious service. Disappointed.
Excellent ambience with an amazing service. Polite and friendly servers made it a wonderful evening
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food
Our experience at this restaurant on the final evening of Winterlicious was highly disappointing. I m not sure whether the Winterlicious menu was to blame but the quality of the food left much to be desired. The service was shockingly poor. We endured excruciatingly long waits between courses and for drink orders to be fulfilled. When our appetizers arrived, we asked for more drinks. Dinner came (40ish minutes later), still no drinks. Dinner cleared, still no drinks. Frustrated by the lack of attention, we eventually flagged down a random passing by server to cancel the drinks altogether. When dessert came, it was rock hard, inedible. We were offered a different dessert but we just wanted to leave. The server profusely apologized, which seemed ingenious since she was somewhat rude and avoided us all evening. Won t be back.
One of the worst meals I have ever had. Without complaining about everything, we ordered fish and it was cooked beyond recognition. Our server didnt seem surprised and offered free dessert. Its a bar for after work, not a restaurant. I dont write reviews but felt compelled.
Me and my wife just wanted to say thank you to everyone at Lena for everything this was an amazing venue to have your wedding reception at! The staff and management was amazing but most of all the cook is unbelievable! Thank you again for everything!
Came here with a large party, and while the service was fine, the food was definitely not up to par. Got the empanada and it was very mediocre, served with some olives in oil, with a sauce that was mostly oil. A very greasy appetizer. Got the flat iron steak and wow was it tough, somehow very rare but also very tough. The chimichurri sauce was also extremely oily and the entire dish was sitting in a plate of oil. Steak lacked seasoning and so did the vegetables. Only good thing were the mashed potatoes which were somehow the star of a steak dish. Cheesecake for dessert was good. Overall left pretty dissatisfied given the decor and ambiance in the private room was pretty lackluster, and the lighting was not the best. I tasted some of the vegetarian dishes and the pasta and that was even more disappointing. Food presentation was also lacking, not what I d expect from such a restaurant.
Amazing food! We will definitely be back. We had the veal dish and scallops tagliatelle, mushroom app and beef tartare, both great!
Great food. Amazing staff. It has an art-deco feel and atmosphere.
A restaurant in an old apartment store lobby. Fun. Great vibe just a bit chopped up on multiple floors. So depending where you get seated amazing or ok. Food was amazing and service spot on. Good sharing plates or just grab a great tasting entree. Great cocktails. Well mixed. Tasty. Check out their happy hours for deals.
Really vibrant flavours, exciting atmosphere, and great service. Had a a great time, would definitely recommend!
Lively place with great food!
Out of vetting a ton of different places looking for a place for my birthday, my date and I settled on here and it surpassed expectations. The food and drinks were amazing (the veal and their shrimp special were spectacular) and the service was flawless. Much appreciation to Raul for his knowledge of the menu and splendid service. Would definitely recommend !
Mid tier expensive Toronto food
Hands down, the best cheesecake Ive ever had!! Finally got the chance to visit the spot Ive been dying to try. Perfect vibe for after work. Amazing cocktail selection. Went for the seafood stew - light, fresh, with chickpeas, just what I needed. But lets talk about that Basque cheesecake (aka burnt cheesecake on the menu) - Im definitely coming back for more!
Spectacular...everything. Make that reservation.
We went for lunch, the restaurant is excellent, the food is delicious, but I would like to have different flavours, we ordered four different plates, all of them tasty, but they have all the same flavour
