Delicious Latin American food! 😋 My boyfriend is Ecuadorian and he gave his 💯 % stamp of approval. I'm Vietnamese and a self-proclaimed foodie. Loved it also! 🙌
One of the best places to get authentic Ecuadorian and Colombian cuisine. I felt like I was eating in my grandma's or aunt's kitchen back home. Cheese empanada: 9.5/10. Only wish it could've been freshly fried but it was still on point. Ceviche: 10/10. Patacones and shrimp ceviche were perfect. Seco de pollo: 9.5/10: wish they used dark meat insted of chicken breast but still had the flavours on point. Julian (one of the owners) was very friendly, very welcoming and made sure everthing was to our liking. If your looking for latin american food, this is the place to go for takeout or eating in.
Really great spot for lunch, with amazing food but also very friendly staff. It's been a pleasant experience every time. Got recommended to try the cheese empanada with sugar, which was a first but definitely not the last.
I Went here every day for lunch for the whole week I worked in the area. They never missed. Food looks great, tastes better, staff is super friendly. Easy recommendation
Friendly staff. Came in and asked for two of the BEST dishes. I did not research this place, I came for Jerk Chicken and it was closed but they share a space so I thought I would try it out! They did not give me the two best items, but the two easiest to prepare and expensive dishes. The Chicken dish was dry and overcooked, no sauces or anything really. The rice was also dry and tasteless. The goat stew dish was the same thing, but it tasted like it had gone sour. They offered to exchange the dishes, but I drove down there and I don’t want to drive back out. I’m usually not one to waste food, but I couldn’t force myself to eat. EDIT: Somebody reached out to me and offered me a refund and I thought that was nice. It may have been a one off occasion where I just got a poorly made batch, which does happen.
Ordered empanadas for my Colombian boyfriends birthday party. They were so delicious and a huge hit! Packaged great as well. This is our favourite style of empanada and hard to find in the city, super glad we found you guys! Will definitely try other items on the menu as the empanadas were amazing!
So far I've had the Carne asada and the fried chicken sandwich. Both incredible I have now tried the 50/50 burger. Also amazing. 🙌
Traditional Latin American flavors and dishes made well with a real home made feel. Their empanadas are the best I've had in the city and is definitely my new go to spot! Light, butter, and fried with a good ratio of filling. Chorizo, patacones, rice - all delicious and cooked well. The barbacoa had great flavor but it was a bit overcooked and dry - aside them that everything was great. Overall a solid option for authentic dishes from south america/mexico and maybe the best for empanadas!

I ve got food a few times from here and when I tell you the food tastes amazing it s no joke haha. Every single time I go it doesn t change how I feel about it! Very nice environment great service/energy. Please go give it a try if you re tempted to try something new!! You will not regret
Places an online order as they werent doing dine-in at the time so you had to order from the window or online, showed up and the doors were locked. Waited 5mins and nobody showed up, and finally called and somebody came to the window. They didnt know I made an order (15mins after I placed it) and told me itll be ready in 5 Waited 15mins and nobody came to find me, so went inside and apparently my original order was there waiting on the side for now 30mins.. the guy I spoke to didnt even check or let their manager know I was waiting... Got home and the food was cold. The carne sandwich had no flavour and the plantain and yuca fries had no salt... Very disappointing
One of my favourite places to frequent in the downtown area. Their dinner and lunch options are all very fresh, yummy, and healthy!
1 person cooking, serving, tending to customers with had short temper, extremely hot inside small place with heat from kitchen, no a/c. Not recommended

Had the beef empanada and it was delicious! I actually wish I had gotten two! My first experience was wonderful. I ll definitely be going back for the beef empanadas!
Just excellent! The tacos were amazing! The filette de pescado and the Casa meal were great, too... But try the tacos.
We came in late night and got 3 tacos and the fish main dish. For the tacos, the fish was the best, carne asada a close second and the chicken was pretty good. Fish dish was also great, the rice and salad were very flavorful coming from a person who doesn t like salad usually. No photos because we demolished it quickly. Staff was super helpful and friendly!
Sadly its a shared 2 businesses in 1 small long & narrow kinda decrepit (unfortunately) location. The interior pics are not accurate . Food was passable. But nothing else in this area to get a meal!!

This what you ll get for 20$. I ordered combo, but came home with just sandwich. Yes, and is just sandwich with not the best bread, which was already wet. This part of Tomatoes should be discarded, but somehow it s in my sandwich. Taste 1 from 10.

Got the 4 taco special, really great bang for your buck: 1 fish, two steak, and 1 el pastor. Very tasty. Also got two empanadas which were great

Went to try this place and was worried my 13,12,8 year old kids wouldnt like it as they are fussy. They absolutely LOVED IT!. Food was delicious, service was amazing and the portions were good for a family of 5. We ordered everything on the menu in our 2 visits. The two gentlemen make you feel welcomed. Anytime you are downtown then definitely check this place out. You wont be disappointed.
This place is shockingly good! We had the fish on rice with plantains and i am still thinking about how tasty it was. It was very clean inside and the man working was helpful and friendly. Food was prepared quickly. We will be back.
Went in here by accident - I think they are new and havent updated their signage? However I ended up with some delicious empanadas. A BOH guy came up and chatted to me about the options, was so helpful and made suggestions etc! when Im next in town Ill come back Vegetarian options: Cheese empanadas
I had the fish of the day plate and it was delicious. Ordered an empanada to go for the morning as well - so nice to know theres a great Latin American food place nearby with great prices. Usually Im making a trip across the city for empanadas and its great to have more options now. Definitely a great option if youre looking for a healthy meal and are on the go!
Ordered for the first time off of Ritual and was really impressed with the large portion size, freshness and overall great taste! Definitely will be going back
My friend and I both had the Seco de Chivo (ecuadorian goat stew)- packed with flavour and tender meat. Loved the beef empanada too. Still thinking about the flavours... will be back again when we return to the neighborhood.

Carne asada sandwich was alright. Lots of meat but flavor was lacking. Will be back to try the empanadas and fried chicken sandwich. Friendly staff and smooth pick up.
Its hard to find good empanadas, specifically for a good price downtown. I ordered from Uber eats, which I slightly regret only because I realized theyre around the corner and I could have gone to pick it up, and they wouldve been perfectly melty and crispy. The meat ones held up a bit better for take out, but Ill be in soon.

My partner and I split the el pastor, carne asada, Buffalo cauliflower and fish taco and grabbed some jerk chicken from the other restaurant sharing the space. We absolutely loved the fish taco. I woke up thinking about it. Friendly and helpful staff. I will be going back! <3

The food is awesome! High quality and authentic Latin cuisine! People are friendly, especially owner. The yuca fries are so yum, empanadas are great. The fish taco, out of this world. All tacos are great. I love the daily specials. Had the dinners as well, I got the fish dinner, was so good! Even the rice was savory. Hope you guys grow into a sit-in restaurant. I would come for lunch all the time. <3
Literally the best place for Latin American food. Great price, the food looks just like the pictures and the portions are enough. I m someone who eats a lot and I got completely full after ordering the beef quesadillas. This is a place you must visit. Hidden Gem that shouldn t be hidden!!

I tried this little place on a whim and was so glad I did! I ordered the empanadas and they were amazing! Lovely flavor and fresh. Ill be back to try the tacos for sure. Be sure to stop in and try the food here. As a side not, this place shares space with Big city jerk, also great food.
I had the fried chicken burger. One of the best ive had. Really good. And the fries were good as well. Hats off to the chef.... even if it was just a chicken sandwich. Thanks for the amazing food. Would recommend.
Ah-mazing!! So happy this place opened bc finally I have a dependably delicious and affordable go-to dinner option, the carne asada sandwich. And yucca fries!! But the empanadas are delicious too, I prefer the Columbian one. I can t wait to try everything on the menu!

Amazing food, I had the cauliflower quesadilla, and it was vegan! Could not tell! It s hard to come across places that have flavour and vegan, I would definitely come again.

The taste of home, like mama s home cooking. The Seco de Pollo is very flavourful wakes up your taste buds. The chicken is very tender. We also ordered La Casa. This dish is a feast. Very large serving could feed two people. Also very tasty I really enjoyed the sausage and the carne asada. I recommend Mi Gente Cocina to everyone. One taste and you will be hooked. True taste of Ecuador
Had the empanadas trio. They are honestly on a next level!!! The tacos on the other hand remind me of the Taco flavored kisses Song from South Park. They are that good!!!!

I live out in bowmanville so Im not around the city often but I was craving Ecuadorian/Mexican and decided to try a new spot for a change. I was suprised by the cleanliness of the joint and their empanadas being from scratch made them significantly more delicious. I pass by whenever Im In town for a quick bite. If youre lucky youll meet the chef of the place, you can tell he cares about the food he puts out. See you guys next time!!

I am a new customer to Migente.. but will definitely be a repeat customer. Tried and loved the fish tacos. They make it with a light and crispy battered fish topped with fresh pico de gallo. The fish just melted in my mouth. Also had their hearty in house veggie and chicken soup. It was well seasoned and rich, and it really hit the spot. Place is clean, prices are great, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back, and trying the fish fillet entree and the tempting empanadas I saw someone ordering before me.
Very nice small place had the seco de pollo and the empanadas both were excellent. The guy who served me was very nice and answered any questions I had which I appreciated. If you re in the neighbourhood I recommend checking this place out.
I got some empanadas and they were soooo delicious, air fried after refrigerating, and they would be good as new. Excited to try other items on the menu!!
