Without a doubt it is a very good service but the quality of the food has dropped a lot, while I ordered the food they used the microwave oven, the food was not fresh, the place was very very very very dirty, pieces of food on the floor etc. I think I would prefer not to eat there.

The tacos could be better, a bit dry and bland for my taste. There are better options

Very sad, there was nothing on the menu that appears on the internet, I had to eat something that I didnt even want because they didnt have the 5 things I wanted, the truth is I will never return to that place again The tacos were too bad for me

Ordered on UberEats for them to randomly cancel our order after waiting 30mins.. No message or anything for why. We ordered a few things too, pretty let down with this.

The service is bad, the girl who serves at night is very bad. At first she made faces at us and then we asked her if she could bring us something and she never gave it to us, but she was very attentive to the Canadians. What an outrage, not even because she is Mexican. I do not recommend this place, you will have a bad time going to eat if you are Latin. Terrible service.

I ve seen great reviews of this place. I really wanted to like it, but I ve been there twice and the food is not that great. It s not particularly bad but it s not the good either. The flavour was plain.

I love the place, the food, but the girl who serves is very overbearing, not at all friendly, I dont know her name, I didnt even dare to ask for the ticket, I wont come back, what a bad image for such a great place.

Pretty solid restaurant overall. I tried the birria tacos and the chorizo empanadas. They are both excellent value at their low price point, as is most of the menu. The birria tacos were a bit overcooked, but still were good overall. The service was efficient and accommodating. The atmosphere, on the other hand, was about average. If youre coming here, it should be for a good meal, not necessarily an all-around experience. While I enjoyed myself, Im not sure Balam is as competitive as other nearby Mexican spots.

Not very good Mexican food, and expensive. Im pretty sure the guac was store bought, and the chilaquiles was not good. I ordered al Pastor with my chilaquiles (supposed to be long strips of meat cut from the spit) and what I got looked more like little meatballs.The sauces were not great, they seemed diluted. An order of tacos, chilaquiles, guac&chips plus two drinks cost $75. Latinworld on Bloor is far superior.

Balam has amazing food and great service. Their Birria tacos are amazing and very filing. I highly recommend this place if you love Mexican food.

The Food is Delicious. I recommend it. Too bad the staff, I went today in the afternoon. The girl who served me was very disgusting. The table was dirty. It takes me a while to bring me the menu, it takes me a while to lift the plates. I was more aware of the cell phone than the tables.

Stumbled upon this place after an appointment in the area and I couldn t be more grateful! The staff member was so nice and explained to us items in the menu we weren t sure about. We ended up getting different kinds of tacos that were all delicious. My personal fave was the birria soup- it was so hearty!

We recently gone twice to Balam for takeout and have been very happy with the food and service. So far weve had the tinga de pollo tacos, grilled chicken gringas, cochinita pibil gringas, and beef torta. Looking forward to trying more things from the menu.

The rice horchata water my favourite The portions are pretty big. The chilaquiles with red sauce were so spicy. Even for a Mexican person who eats spice, it was too spicy. I couldn t finish the meal because of the spice. Food : 4/5

This is my favourite place for pozole in Toronto. It is soooo good. I feel very lucky that this place is in my neighbourhood, super authentic mexican food and actually everything is delicious. The place is quite small and unassuming, however there is a big menu and lots of big flavours. Do not miss it if you are in Bloordale and feeling like eating Mexican :)

The tacos are good but Uber said that they are double tortillas and that is not true; And the bad thing is that it is the first time in my life that they did not send me sauce with the tacos and I had to eat them dry. I imagine it was a mistake because this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city! But at Uber eats it kind of wasnt worth it :(

Tried for the first time and loved it. My friend and I each got a torta and empeñada and both were 10/10. Ill be back!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere made me feel at home.

To be clear, this rating is almost exclusively in reference to Balams taco offering - though weve had very good empanadas there as well. We have two favourite taco choices: the Suadero (simmered beef); and, their outrageously delicious Birria with consommé. Our favourite empanada (so far) is the Chicken Verde - though the Chicken Rojo is a very close second. They have a selection of soft drinks, including the delicious Mexican brand Jaritos (one of our favourites). Service here is friendly and kind, and the small space (including a small patio in front) and the vibe is always chill. Highly recommended for your next taco craving!

We always pass by this place and see a lot of people so we got curious that it might just be too hyped up but damn we were not disappointed. One of the best Asada tacos I ve ever tasted! Those chunky beets are to die for! And the chicken was so good too. I love that it comes with a guacamole but I wish it was more and they give different sauces as well but still it s amazing! We didn t have to wait too long for the food to arrive to. Maybe 15 minutes or less. Plus they have free coffee and water if u want to. Really nice cozy place. Will be coming back again and again.

Absolutely delicious tacos! I had the Pastor, asada and suadero, with suadero being my fav! There are so outdoor seating in addition to the limited seating indoors. Definitely will come back in the summer.

Stopped by for dinner - you just grab a menu and a seat at a tiny table, then order at the cash. Super casual and super value. Lots of options, and good for vegetarians too. They were out of natchos ??? At 7pm on a Friday? That seemed odd. We both had mushroom and cheese empanadas- 2 large ones of crispy goodness. Will return to try more. Just had self-serve/free water - they have some interesting soft drinks. 5m walk north of Landsdowne. Street parking. One step up to enter. Patio.

The smell of tortillas and friendly staff pull my attention to this spot. That and the folks that make this place their regular spot. Their house made juices are pretty decent. Id recommend the Tamarindo drink over there mixed fruit one. Overall, this place is a 9 out of 10. The tortilla and meats are fresh, and for a set of 3 will run you 20 bucks. The tacos come with a double shell. I wouldve preferred a single shell taco, but they were good. Give this place a shot and dont thi k youll be disappointed. They even have dessert!

Our familys new favourite place for Mexican food! We are partial to the chorizo empanadas which have the most fluffy-but-crisp masa pastry. The toddler loves the carnitas tacos, and claims they could eat all the tacos in the neighbourhood. In our last takeout order we picked up a birria gringa (quesadilla) A+ for the tender beef and the spicy, flavourful consomme.

Everything is very tasty, I recommend the suadero tacos and the tortas. The new menu is varied. The desserts are good and the fresh waters are very tasty (I recommend the horchata, fruit and cucumber with lemon). Vegetarian options: They have a few options on the menu.

Balam is an adventure of flavors on the palate, its exquisite menu, its express service, the times it is attended, very friendly and very fast, greetings to all its team of workers.

This is a must try in the Bloordale neighborhood. The food is delicious and the meat in their tacos is always tender. The consomé is addictive. Their ceviche is also a really large portion, definitely worth the price! A small hint of heat with jalapeños inside.

One of the best taquerias in Toronto. The food and ambience is amazing. Their fruit juices are on another level tbh. Underrated spot for sure.

So happy to they finally opened a restaurant. I tried other Mexican restaurants but this one is a way better. I still order for delivery but if I have time, I ll definitely come back.

Mexican food with a very rich seasoning, very friendly and fast service, has a variety of dishes, drinks and desserts.

An authentic Mexican restaurant, the food is very delicious, the chilaquiles 10/10 and they have Mexican Coca-Cola. Plus, they have flavored water!!! The prices are the best I have seen of all the Mexican food restaurants I recommend yes or yes to come

I loooooved this place. Their tacos and empanadas are AMAZING!!! Service was really fast even when the restaurant was full. I will definitely come back to try the other dishes. Prices are very reasonable! Nothing to complain about tbh!

The food was amazing. Authentic flavours, approved by a Mexican. I ve tried the chicken chilaquiles (with both red and green salsas), and Torta de carnitas. Both were amazing. I also loved the salsas they have (green, red and chile de arbol). Even their totopos (corn chips) are great, which not many Mexican restaurants achieve. They also have classic drinks such as horchata, cucumber/lime, and a few others. Prices are ok, vibe is nice, staff is friendly. 5/5.

Although I would like them to also offer their products without spice, since there are people who are not tolerant, the rest provided excellent service from the girl, very clean and above all very tasty and at a good price

If this is your first time eating tacos, it will be fine. If youve eaten tacos before, you might not enjoy them. I Tried the tacos al pastor, the adobo flavor was very poor and the pork was cut in cubes, the chorizo tacos were bad, again flavorless, and the rajas poblanas tacos tasted good but the ration was very tiny The portions of the 3 tacos are very small for the pricing of 13 - 15 cad per order, I dont think it is worth it Cochinita pibil tacos gets a 6 out of 10. Again, it was missing some flavor to the meat. Might give them another chance with something different, but tacos were not as good as they should be The piña colada water 2 out of 10, it was more a pinneapple water rather than a balanced coconut/pinneaple flavor with a creamy texture it should have.

Chilaquiles were delicious, just great!! Torta al Pastor was lacking a bit of ingredients, no pineapple or toppings, still meat was flavourful. Horchata water was good too. And dog friendly. Service was good too! Food : 4/5

Every time we go with my family we have a wonderful time. The girls are super attentive and careful about every detail with the clients. Balam Toronto is a tucked away taco shop near Landsdowne station and Ill have to say its probably one of my favourite tacos Ive had. I got the taco trip with the carnitas and the Cochinita Pibil and let me tell you, the Cochinita Pibil is the way to go. Although its a little far out, these tacos are well worth the journey.

The food tastes good, the quantity seemed reasonable to me, what I didnt like is that you pay before and if you want something else you have to go back to the cashier to pay and order, if necessary, a waiter and the coffee they offer free it was cold

Good as a recommendation, waiting time for food is around 20 - 30 minutes for some tacos and some chilaquiles which therefore would have to be pre-ordered, to only serve, standard prices, service I would give 6 out of 10, for 3 people in kitchen, as a note the cheese in the chilaquiles tastes a little strange, I dont know if its feta cheese or fresh type but it had a strange taste the drinks that were already made take a while to deliver 10 minutes, it is understood that there is only one person who charges and serves, that the time in taquerias in the area to serve is approximately 10 minutes.

Honestly was expecting much better. Came highly recommended but the food wasn t anything special. I may need to try other things some other time. I did get the tacos that were recommended.

I went on Tuesday with the promotion for an order of tacos have the second order at a %50 discount , the tacos are not bad, the portions are good, but the sauce they served was a green sauce that did not have much flavor. I ordered tacos de pastor, carnitas (which were very dry), tacos de pollo (just ok) and de birria (they were a bit disappointing since the broth has almost no flavor and the meat was ok... but the suadero tacos are very tasty . Customer service was friendly :) Its not a bad restaurant: cozy and colorful they just need to improve the sauce a bit!

I was hankering to go on a date and rather than test my luck with mediocre Hinge dudes, I made a date with tacos at Balam. I ordered the pollo tinga tacos, and holy moly, they were way better than expected (not a common Hinge experience). Fresh, flavorful and moist corn tortillas generously stuffed with mildly spicy, richly flavoured chicken and very tasty green salsa. Service was kind and quick. Best date of the year!

I am Mexican and found this restaurant on Google maps, was excited to come but it was disappointing. I m a vegetarian and in my country literally every restaurant will make simple changes to the dishes so vegetarian people can still enjoy them. It was sad not being able to eat my favorite dish even though they have all the ingredients to make it possible. I ended up having some mushroom tacos and they were 6/10. The cheese wasn t even melted and the salsas aren t spicy. The place is cozy though.
