We ordered burrito, food had no taste, and no flavor. We got sick, had stomach pain and nausea from their food. Would be good to call a health inspector to check the restaurant to not get other people sick.
We live near by this place, I would say the rent here is quite expensive as I've seen many different stores open and close in that strip of buildings, which is probably why the food costs a little more. The price isn't any different than other places on Bloor Street, the people on here complaining about it probably don't order from restaurants on the street often. The food is great, I always enjoy the flavor and haven't eaten anything bad from here yet. Lovely owners, I haven't heard them yelling at each other before, it is a family run and owned business so even if they speak to each other differently that other places that's why. Great place, check it out for yourself.
Ordered an imperial burrito that was supposed to have carnitas, pastor and chorizo. It was 99% rice and 1% meat and I don’t even think they put the 3 meats. The rice was even flavorless as well…I paid $30 and I honestly felt robbed. For that price I would expect a lot of meat and flavor! I highly do not recommend.
A hidden gem just outside the second high park subway entrance. Hidden is an dish called sopes which is delicious, and non spicy ( unless you want them to be). For $7 dollars you can order one . They come 7 different types , chicken , pork , fish, beef, ground pork, veggie, shrimp). Super delicious , and 1 will fill you up. A secret menu item , as you will not find it on the menu. The real good stuff is hidden in popular imperial section in Spanish words , however there is slow cooked lamb , beef stew, clear soup, and other date worthy dishes there. Don't glaze over it, you can google the words to find out which is which. Seating is nice comfy mini couches that are great for a date . The place looks a little bare , but actually nice. You can get really good mazapan like dessert for $1 , which is super good. As the place is also a Mexican Latin store as well for snacks. Honestly some of the best food which is hidden. The host is very good, and the plates and cutlery is beautiful stone wear.
The service was fast and the food was better than I've tasted in other Mexican places. It has a very authentic feel and they sell local Mexican knick knacks.
I live in the neighborhood and, as someone with gluten and dairy allergies, I was thrilled about the opening of Burrito Imperial, a much-needed addition to an area dominated by Italian pasta and sushi options. I ordered the Fish Tacos (Mexican style - no cheese, no sour cream), a side of beans, and Pico de Gallo. My friend got the Burrito Bowl with a mix of three meats, and her son had a boiled egg, rice with mushrooms, and cheese (they had a high chair, which was great. They also gave us paper and pencils to entertain my friend's 1-year-old). Everything was amazing! I absolutely loved the Jamaica drink; it's very authentic and super healthy, made from boiled hibiscus flowers. It's tart, a bit sweet, very refreshing, and only $5.50. My friend and her son had Horchata (rice milk with cinnamon) and a Lemonade. And we shared Guac with Nachos, Flan Napolitano(has dairy), and Churros(has gluten)—so good! The atmosphere was great! We loved the Mexican music, the friendly and attentive staff, and the view is amazing. Another plus is that the High Park subway station is just around the corner. Highly recommend!
This is a Mexican restaurant with very good food. I've been there twice and have received very good service. What I liked the most were the chilaquiles with carne asada. I was also able to order café de olla, which I hadn't had in a long time and is hard to find in Toronto. I will definitely go again
We went for dinner on Sat 8 June, less than a fortnight after their opening. We tried the first breakfast on the menu and the first burrito on the menu. The Burrito Imperial was tasty. If they lowered the price substantially they'd be more competitive -- note that Chipotle and FreshWest offer a similar (not identical) product for 50% less money, at better locations (near Atrium on Bay) and with greater selection. The 'Imperial I' breakfast was good except for the potatoes which had an unfinished texture. Possibly the plant was picked too young to be able to properly crisp up in the kitchen. Our server was polite and friendly, but would benefit from further training. We suggest new staff shadow experienced team members and watch training videos, if they aren't already. We're excited by Burrito Imperial, see a lot of potential, and appreciate their hard work.
My friend and I visited yesterday with the intention of ordering out. We had gone to get ice cream prior to visiting the restaurant and my friend had politely asked the woman at the cashier for a napkin, as his ice cream was melting. She had a very nasty attitude, gave us a dirty look for no reason, and proceeded to tell my friend that she could sell him a napkin for $1. To be honest, we were completely disgusted and stunned with her behaviour and lost interest in ordering anything due to her bad attitude and terrible service. Im sure the food wouldve been decent, but with service like that, Im not comfortable returning here.
Rich like in Mexico
We wanted to use the bathroom when we arrived with my pregnant wife and they told us that we had to consume first to use them in a hostile manner. I do not recommend this place at all
I asked to borrow the bathroom (Im pregnant, 40 weeks) obviously we were going to consume, it was lunch time, but in my condition, I needed to use the bathroom, the lady in a very rude manner denied me the use, I told her that I was going anyway to buy, but I needed to use the bathroom first and he told me no again. If this is what the attention is like, I dont even want to imagine what the food is like. I dont recommend this place at all.

Run by the most kind and friendly family!! Their hibiscus drink is so light and refreshing. The quesadillas with goat cheese taste so authentic and fresh and the guac is also amazing. It s a super closer walk to me so I will definitely be back to try more off the menu :D
A very expensive place, in Mexican pesos almost 700MXN for 2 cakes, by the way, they are not normal cakes, they have the typical taco bell type vegetable combo. Finally, they put my orders wrong and I ended up trying 2 new flavors of cake and as a final recommendation. If you are looking for commercial food this is the place, if you are looking for real Mexican food that comes straight from the kitchen go somewhere else. PS: they dont know how to make chicharrón gorditas either.
Breakfast is very good The guacamole is super good with some homemade nachos Kid-friendliness: Yes, they accept children and are very patient and kind.
Today we went to eat Burrito Imperial. I ordered a chicken burrito and a Jamaica water, my boyfriend ordered some quesabirrias and a fresh lemonade. It was delicious!!!! We also ordered flan and chocoflan for dessert. A delight. Excellent quality, and the staff very attentive to us. We really recommend this restaurant.
I had the best hot dog in my life here! Friendly service, atmosphere of a vacation, proactive and smiling staff - I did feel like I just woke up in an all-inclusive hotel and went to get my breakfast.
Terrible customer service. They gave me wrong order and fed me meat, as a vegetarian. I felt sick and didn t even want the vegetarian replacement. They told me they couldn t do anything about it/help out in any way. I would have paid more in tips than the cost of taking the mistake off the bill, had the service been good. Overcharged, poor customer service, lacking flavour and not authentic. Save your money/ spend somewhere else. Will not be returning

There is nothing imperial about this cantina even though the prices would suggest they are aspiring to it. Not worth the dosh. Vegetarian options: Cabbage
The atmosphere is casual, food is tasty, a bit pricey for Mexican food but I imagine the great location could be the reason for that. I am excited to revisit and try out their different options.
The food was mediocre at best and severely over priced. Its fast food quality at restaurants prices. No liquor license either.

What a great new addition to our neighbourhood!! I had tamales for the first time and they were delicious!! Along with homemade tortilla chips and guacamole as well as their very popular burrito bowl, we were already looking forward to returning very soon. Highly recommended!! Vegetarian options: One of the tamales I had was vegetarian and delicious!!
The roast chicken is very delicious, the price is definitely worth it and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

Excellent place to enjoy various Mexican dishes I really liked the service and attention, I enjoyed the burrito bowl. The chilaquiles with roast beef and the Neapolitan flan without missing the excellent horchata water

Amazing! I ordered shrimp tacos with green sauce on the side, a chicken with mole tamal and a fresh drink called horchata. I can t explain it with few words so I resume saying: great, great and great . I really enjoyed the food and the drink. It was more than expected! Sure I ll come back soon!
We ordered the quesabirria and chiles rellenos with rice and beans, both were absolutely delicious. The service was great as we were waiting for our food. Price is comparable to other Mexican restaurants I have visited. Happy to have a good Mexican restaurant in the area.
The quality of the food is really poor and as a Mexican it gives a bad reputation to Mexican cuisine which is amazing. The tortillas are probably from No Frills and not authentic Mexican. To make matters worse, it is way overpriced for what they have to offer. There are better choices for Mexican food in this city.

The owner are screaming all the time to the employees. Its the same owner that the Tierra Azteca and have the same menu but all the products with +5 dollars of differences than the other restaurant, Food
Place seems to be always empty for some reason. We gave it a good try and visited few times. Sadly the quality of the food is inconsistent. The guacamole they use in the breakfasts (is really a mashed avocado) but just does not seem like the real think - we believe is mixed with something we cannot identify. Levels of spiciness in their medium and spicy salsa is different on a different day and the staff and chef do not seem to be sure what is in the dishes when you ask questions. I also heard the manager or the owner screaming at the staff and it really created uncomfortable atmosphere, we felt the staff was abused. We are not really feeling like going back. Is also not wheelchair accessible, therefore we cannot take my father to the restaurant with us.

Last time I visited this restaurant it was beyond bad. Portions were tiny, overpriced & for Mexican food, it lacked a lot of flavour. The atmosphere was beyond toxic, the owner kept yelling at her employees slurs in Spanish. Employees seemed also overworked, exhausted & frightened, definitely do not recommend.
