Cali Mexican Grill in Toronto

Order number #D6F49. I made an office order today . Didn t receive the complete items. The extra grilled chicken was missing from the order . Only received a veggie bowl. Had to throw it out. Mind you the ride was of $350. Never ordering from this place ever again

Ownership was playing around on her phone filming content while the line was almost out the door. Staff was stressed. The owner proceeded to film customers in the store without their consent and when asked not to film she responded that she was only filming their back she didn t seem to appreciate the error and utter disregard for someone s privacy and not wishing to be filmed while eating a burrito. Do better and help your staff.

The service was great. The restaurant had some nice seating. The food had lots of options for toppings. The taste itself felt bland. I usually like my food with alot of spices and flavour but this didnt feel like it lived up to that level. Would like to try a different dish to compare.

We got the grilled chicken and steak burritos. Steak was a lot nicer than the grilled chicken, but I still enjoyed the chicken. I like that you get rice and beans and any toppings you want. Also the chips is such a nice addition. I don t usually like salsa on its own but that salsa was perfect with the chips. Just don t pour the crumbs into your mouth because the appointment of seasoning is overwhelming

Hands down the best burrito bows in Toronto. Been coming here for a few years now, never disappoints - good variety of toppings, super crispy chilli chicken, and loaded burrito bowls, can t even compare to other Mexican chain stores.

Easily my favourite place for tacos in the city! I come here a few times a month. The food is always fresh, they dont cheap out on the portions they give you and the service is always super friendly! I highly recommend it, you wont regret it and your tastebuds will thank you!

The food is good and super fresh. So many toppings to choose from. Lots of sauces; from no spice to really spicy. Staff is friendly. Food arrives hot and fast. Generous portions. Vegetarian options: I come here with a friend that is vegetarian and she absolutely loves it. Always tries something new.

Been back many times ... friendly, fast service. Usually get their GENEROUS streak burrito bowl. The chips are tasty, not boring. Fresh ingredients. Not overly salted. They were open Boxing Day. Going back this afternoon!

We had the Buffalo Chicken Cali Nachos, Beef Cali Nachos, and Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla. They were all delicious. Large portions for a great price. Definitely recommend

Food waz phenomenal. Waiter had recommended a crispy chicken bowl with half chipotle and half sweet/sour. I highly recommend getting the guacamole. Waiter was kind enough to allow us to sample. Nachos are made fresh to order and seasoned well. Overall very good establishment.

My partner and I come here like once a month and everytime its great. I usually get the grilled chicken bowl. My partner gets the pork bowl. They dont miss. Only complaint? Dont like the wooden spoons. Seasoning is on point! Ingredients taste fresh. Music is great in there too. The amount of meat and ingredients you get in the bowl are absolute satisfaction. Sometimes, we have left overs and it tastes just as good the next day. If we lived closer, wed go more often.

Our new go to for shrimp burritos! Ours were delivered promptly, still warm. Burrito was packed with delicious toppings, including guacamole (small extra charge) and even a goodly number of shrimp (not battered - very important to us!). May try eat-in in the future, but photos show a pretty minimal setting. Thats ok, everything else was top-notch! Highly recommended!

Oh my god this is one of the best Quesadilla I ever had. And that too when we get it delivered. This is the second time I ordered from this restaurant and it exceeded my expectations, veggie quesadillas is a must try when you dont want your hands and mouth get dirty and half of the fillings on the table (I had Quesadillas where you lose most of the fillings while eating and here I don t feel that). Love it. Just love it

Very different take on your usual Mexican spots like chipotle. I love the toppings that they use which is very refreshing. Only thing to note is the portions is dependent on staff. Sometimes the portions are a lot and most times the portions are too little.

I visited this Friday. The guy name Jacob made me one of the best Mexican Burrito I ever had in my life. Best place to have Mexican food. They have large portions. And in great price.

Honestly I dont think I ever go back here again I got to steak which was stringy and smelled kind of off to me. I was unable to eat it so I picked it off and ask them if I could get was chicken which was extremely overcooked and just turned too crumbly powdery consistency in my mouth. Somehow dry yet sopping wet at the same time.

Ordered a grilled chicken tacos -- Was flavorful but the chicken was a bit dry, overall tasty tacos and the Cali sauce was really yumm, it was my first time trying this sauce and im a fan... Will try their burrito bowl next time

Staff seemed distracted and ended up forgetting to include our chips and guac in our takeout order. Its on me for not double checking before leaving but it shouldnt happen in the first place. Food is worse than chipotle. I dont understand the hype.

Wonderful meal. Food was amazing One thing though, i did feel the chicken was lightly seasoned maybe it was intentional due to other added sauces but it just meant i couldnt eat a piece of chicken alone, i had to eat it with other stuff in the bowl.

Everything is good, they have there own nachos. Very humble and good people that makes hospitality very special and delicious food. I tried Vegan burritos and cali nachos vegan Keep it up guys You are doing rocks

Great mexican spot for a quick bite. The burrito bowl was nicely packed with plenty of food. They didnt skimp out on the meat, however the taste could be better. Overall very solid, especially if youre trying to eat a protein-rich meal with calories in mind lol.

Ive tried this place a couple of times and I have enjoyed the fried fish bowl. I ordered a steak bowl where they got my order wrong, but was pleasantly surprised when they offered me a free bowl, and it was an easy process to pick up the bowl when I showed up a couple of months later. Thanks Yayie for the help with this and leaving a note with my name for the free bowl. The food is pretty fresh. I was surprised with how the steak bowl comes with shredded beef instead of pieces of steak (which is my preference), but it was still yummy. Awesome customer service, looking forward to trying more.

Cafeteria style service. Had the burrito bowl. Lacking taste and flavor for a tex-mex style restaurant. The presentation was not at all appealing.

Grilled chicken had a punchy smell. Quesadilla was soggy. Service in the other hand was kind and friendly.

This place is like a white washed Mexican place.... But it tastes great.

The best nachos and quesadillas Ive had compared to the ones in the GTA. For the quality and price, it is definitely well worth it. The service is amazing. I would definitely go again.

Was super excited to try this restaurant. However, was super disappointed. Ordered the cali supreme fries and chicken fusion sweet chili quesadilla. Fries were cold (only the ground beef was hot) and quesadilla was burnt.

The price was reasonable and the inside of the store was clean. The staff was friendly and the menu was easy to choose from. I ordered a burrito and a bowl. They were $14 and $16 respectively. A burrito is a piece of meat served torn apart. The bowl seemed to have lightly fried meat and added some seasoning. There was a lot of portion and it was really, really delicious! Its near York Dale Centre, so stop by and try it out!

Every time I order from here, I get a notification that the restaurant is busy and my food doesn t come for 2 hours. This isn t a Uber thing it s always the restaurant.

Pretty good food. It s pretty difficult to find good tasting burritos that aren t super pricey. The proteins are quality and the portions are large. Definitely way better than Burrito Boyz. Great fries as well. If you want almost authentic main stream Mexican food this is it.

Was recommended by a friend, definitely upheld its expectations. Menu was simple, order taker was concise, smiled and answered our questions. Topping we got to choose as you go, he even brought our food to the table. Overall a must try if you are craving good food on a budget.

Please read, I got food poisoning I ordered for the first time at this location since I live nearby and was encouraged to try it because of the previously written reviews. To my bad luck, the food was cold and the taste/ smell was very bad. At first, I didnt care about it and just heated the food again at home, but hours later I was very sick and had a very bad night. I hadnt had anything for breakfast and after the discomfort, I didnt eat anything again. This just makes me understand why this restaurant has 2 minor violations in DineSafe... If you live nearby or happen to pass by this business, please avoid it if you care about your health and wallet.

The guy making my burrito (Bobbi) was the best server and customer experience I ve had in years!!! I m vegan, and he made sure to tell me all my options and honestly very few restaurants do this. I came back to the table and talked to everyone in my party about him, and they said give him a review!!! So here you go Bobbi!

Ive been here twice, and on both occasions, left a very satisfied customer. In both cases, I ordered the Cali Fries. I wanted to try something different, but was very pleased with what I got the first time. On recommendation from the staff, I tried the Sweet Chili Fusion Chicken on my second visit, it was great. I liked the steak a little better because I think it paired better with the cheese. Parking was sufficient, restaurant was clean, food was good, the price was fair, staff was nice, the occasional song on their playlist was too loud in the background, but it wasnt constant. The only thing stopping me from being a regular is how far this place is for me

Absolutely delicious food. Stumbled across this gem last year on a roadtrip and made it a mission to go there again this year. Same amazing quality no disappointments!! Cant wait till next year!! The chicken bowl was fantastic but I have to hand it to the minced meat bowl, just the right amount of tasty spice ! If youre looking for something with a bit of a kick I highly suggest cali Mexican grill the portions are right on point!

Great experience. Ive been going to Burrito Boyz for a while and wanted a switch up. I think this place narrowly beats them out. Food was great. Had the loaded fries and the shrimp tacos. I couldve hoped for a few extra shrimp (3 per taco), but the price isnt that bad. All in all, quite delicious.

Had a fish taco which was perfectly cooked. Breading was light and fish just right. So often my experience in other places was overcooked fish I liked that I could choose my own toppings and sauce. Will definitely return.

I GOT FOOD POISONING, PLEASE READ!! My parents and I went for the first time on Sept. 15, 2022 in the evening. The service was fine, the food was ok, the music was way too loud we could barely hear the cashier even when they turned it down, and then turned it back up when we were done ordering. I ordered a ground beef and yam burrito and added rice, some kind of beef mush, cheese, onions, guac, and cali sauce and enjoyed it as did my mom, my dad did not complaining his chicken bowl was overcooked and dry. My stomach hurt a little that night but I thought that was typical of Mexican food. But the next day and for the last few days, I have had the worst diarrhea of my life. Today is the 19th and am still sick and also have a rash you know where. Pepto has not been very helpful and yet I have still been going to work because of overtime hours and it has been miserable having diarrhea 3-5 times a shift which is a huge inconvenience to my colleagues and hotel guests. I was even half an hour late because I was on the toilet before I got changed at work. Since then, I have not been able to eat properly and anything I do eat seems to go right through me. On top of this, Ive also been trying to bulk up so time and progress has been lost. I am now very distrustful of this place and we will not be coming back.

Food is greasy... believe it or not. Its a 10 minute wait to get your food. They are very slow behind the counter. Go to barBURRITO in the next plaza North, it is fresher, tastier and quicker.

My wife and I picked up dinner here on happenstance. We ordered 1 chicken quesadilla and the ground beef Cali fries. The portions were generous! The food was fresh and tasty. The chicken were chunks of chicken breast, which was really nice. The 2 items fed both of us and we had Cali fries left over. The place is clean and bright. The best thing about it was the service. The people working the counter were attentive and polite. They took care with our order. I would go there again.

Its a food place, the staff take your order its not the most clear communication difficult to hear. I just hate any place that asks for tips on the machine before i even have my food made and its not brought just a pet peeve of mine at this point having a machine request a tip for literally listening to what i want and placing the ingredients together. the chairs arent setup to eat in meaning youd have to grab your own and they are rather high up stools not to mention having to unstack your own seat is rather strange. its clean the food is good and i got what i ordered. nothing note worthy or memorable to repeat a visit but i would go there if its convenient to mt current trip/location. overall it does its purpose.
