BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT Absolutely LOVE this Mexican restaurant. Really feel like we are eating in Mexico. Best customer service from David, and Laura again. Loved my fajitas and margaritas and tres leche. Returned to the. MAD Mexican restaurant for dinner last week. Laura and the entire staff are so pleasant and we received amazing service. Going there for dinner was the ultimate experience. We felt like we were sitting in a restaurant in Mexico as we had dinner. Such a variety of dishes on the menu ! Loved the cheese appetizer and our mushroom tacos and steak tacos. Enjoyed the $10 Margeritas! They offer various specials during the week. The service was outstanding, the food was made with passion and immense culinary skill and the atmosphere is so uplifting. An annoying little girl claiming to be the owners daughter was being a total brat her entire time serving us. She would give us attitude when we ordered more drinks as such. I would NOT recommend anyone to come to this place until that girl is taken care of.

I remember coming here years ago and a large crowd but was very quiet tonight. We had beef tacos it was literally beef cold cut in taco. I was shocked at the price of this paper thin piece of beef with a few onions on top all reheated. This is not the place it was once was. Margarita small and weak. Will not be returning I know why it s dead now!

Edit in 2024: the quality has gone downhill. Tacos fillings are nothing like they used to be. The shrimps are now tiny and not tasty, the breaded fish is dey and hard and when we last ordered a couple of months ago the sauces literally had MOLD on them. Very disappointing. They refunded a part of our order but last time we re ordering from this place. The food was great overall but we were really surprised and disappointed with the Mexican rice that looks more like white Cantonese rice than Mexican. No tomato sauce or spices in there like for any dirty rice they serve in Mexico or the US. Just odd tasteless veggies. Maybe this is a Mexican rice from a part of Mexico I am not familiar with. Edit: I appreciate the answer regarding the rice but salsa wont do it for me. This type of rice is just not what I enjoy with Mexican food. Dirty rice that looks red with spices and herbs is what i like. Not the one with tasteless veggies. Ill order again other items on the menu.

Ive done both dine in a few times and also takeout and Ive never been disappointed. Steak tacos are best Ive tried. All their other tacos are great, had the tortas and also their Mexican style corn. The server accommodated my friends and I as a group of four, but possibly expecting eight. They were very friendly and patient with us as we enjoyed more conversation rather than ordering. It did turn into a group of eight. The server was excellent with children and made us feel welcome and well taken care of. We ordered individual plates and group bowls for sharing. Their homemade guacamole is amazing! The fish tacos were very good. Small issue with music and ambient noise: the speakers are 1)tuned with high-treble and high-midrange (causing cacophony reverberation), 2)pointed directly at the tables (over-saturating the dining area with music), and 3)have no baffling (which would help to soften/dampen the noise level). I otherwise enjoyed my experience and plan to return! Thank you. Dietary restrictions: The staff are allergen-conscientious. They work almost exclusively with corn products. They have one isolated place where they work with wheat. My friend has celiac disease, and she is able to eat here safely and confidently because of the careful management of their food. I am so pleased to see restaurants like Mad Mexican, being careful about how they prepare and store their ingredients. Wheelchair accessibility: Street-level entrance. One door swings-in for entrance, the other door swings-out for exit. I consider this setup meets wheelchair accessible needs. However there is no power-door, so staff assistance may be required. The tables are moderately tall and are not anchored to the floor, so getting a mobility device around and under them should not be an issue. I am confident that staff will move tables and chairs to accommodate wide mobility devices also.

Visited this restaurant last night for the first time. We had a great experience. The service was great. Our server was very kind and helpful. We tried the guac and various steak and fish tacos. The food was tasty and authentic. Definitely will come back and try other menu items. The atmosphere and decor is pleasant. Definitely recommend.

I came to this restaurant to try the food and ordered some elotes as a starter and it tasted like handfuls of salt, I had to remove the cheese because thats whats salty. I ordered the enchiladas red and I didnt know they were chipotle enchiladas because thats what they tasted like. I had never tried this type of enchiladas and I didnt like them. My boyfriend ordered a gringa and it was the only thing that if it is delicious, I recommend it. In addition, they did not bring any type of sauce to our table. Excellent service

Wanted to love this place since its in our neighbourhood but the tacos were just gross; others were bland and tasteless.

Went there for some tacos, but the wait was ridiculous! It took forever, and it s just tacos! The servers were super nice and doing their best while the kitchen was a mess: yelling at each other like there weren t customers around. And this isn t the first time I ve seen this happen. There s a woman chef who s always banging on the bell way too much. Really brought down the vibe. Won t be back unless they get it together.

I typically don t rate but I had to for this spot as the food was amazing! I had the stuffed pepper and my mom had a steak burrito and both were delicious. The table beside us ordered corn on the cob, it looked so good we had to try it and glad we did, I love corn and this was next level corn. Sweet spot, I ll be back.

We had a reservation for 6 and when we arrived our table was ready and set. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The restaurant was so warm that me and my table were uncomfortable, even the servers were visibly sweating. The environment was very loud and it was challenging to have a conversation with friends who was seated next to me let alone across from me. Understandably, you cant control the volume of other guests but the music was very loud. Server was friendly and attentive but she was 1 of 2 for the entire restaurant which was packed. When we asked for our bill, it took 15 minutes for her to bring the bill and check us out. Food was okay, took over 30 mins to arrive. Burrito was small, guacamole was good, gaonera and pescado tacos lacked flavour. I dont think well be coming back.

Food is was good, I d like if it were a bit spicy but I think you gotta ask while ordering. Service was prompt and courteous. We had Marlo helping us today and she s so sweet and helpful. Fabulous meal for my birthday! Clare was a really great server, very much at ease with all questions, and checked with us without intruding on our meal/conversation. The chef provided a special gluten-free/dairy free dessert for me, too. How special!

Nachos and margaritas were excellent. Would definitely return for both of those. I had the chicken tinga tacos and was disappointed. Im used to chicken tinga being juicy and super flavourful. These were dry, near room temperature, and I added plenty of pico de gallo just to try to get through the meal. The nachos came out just after our entrees, even though they were supposed to be an appetizer. Not a big deal, but it does make me wonder if they forgot to put the nacho order in and the tacos were ready early and just sitting there. Given the pricing of each taco being near $9, it does make me skeptical of trying to eat dinner here again.

While the staff are all delightful, sadly the food is lacklustre and far too expensive. I dont know that feta and iceberg lettuce have a place in my heart next to (on top of) my favourite vegetarian mexican dishes. The mushrooms were good but there was nothing else apart from cilantro on my 4 taco. For 10 dollars I would love to expect more than one taco with more variety of flavour. Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease and im a vegetarian so I can usually count on mexican cuisine and that does not differ here. Options for veggie/gluten free do exist, theyre just very expensive for what they offer.

Very, very loud. Had to shout across the table to be heard. Food was good, but one of our table was waiting for at least 10 minutes after the rest of us got our food. Food was good, and would return but in the hope that they could turn the music down and reduce the overall volume.

Stopped by during the local street festival. Server really was not watching our table nor attentive. Had to flag them down to get menus, take our order and the bill. And we werent in a hurry they simply did notice is sitting for tens of minutes had the Guacamole app and mojitos. Both were very nice

Hubby and I went to try the Mad Mexican today for our 40th wedding anniversary. We both loved it!! Food was excellent!! Cooked to perfection!! I must say I had the best margarita and mojito!! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming! They brought us a piece of Tres Leche cake in honour of our anniversary, that was very thoughtful and kind we will definitely go back!! We recently visited Mad Mexican Restaurant for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, making us feel welcome right away. We tried the nachos and churro-style French toast, both of which were delicious. Additionally, we explored the market inside the restaurant and bought some snacks to take home. The combination of great food, friendly service, and a unique market made our visit memorable. We will definitely be coming back!

I have now been to this location two times and it has on both occasions disappointed. On the first occasion we told the restaurant that we had specific allergies (which their menu indicated they dealt with) and they did not come through (finding cheese in menu items we asked if they had not dairy). On the second occasion the same issue occurred as well as poor service. The items are also very expensive for the amount you get. Lastly, we had a 1.5 year old with us the second time and there were not high chairs. I would not recommend this location. Vegetarian options: The server brought a cheese filled dish when we asked if there was cheese in it (and Indicated we couldn t have dairy) and then did not offer to replace the dish Dietary restrictions: The servers did not comply with dietary requests. Kid-friendliness: We had a 1.5 year old with us and there were no high chairs. We saw other families with similar aged children sitting in regular chairs like our child had to as well.

While nothing was bad and the service was fine, we perceived the value as very poor given the final cost was $270.68 (including taxes and tip) for brunch for 4 adults and two small children (who shared a plate). The egg portions were modest (and runny) and were accompanied by a single slice of toast and a small, very simple salad. We all ate what was put in front of us but I was hungry immediately afterwards. And the drinks are expensive given the setting. Perhaps thats what it takes to survive in the restaurant business these days but Ill look elsewhere next time. Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating, no problem with the kids sharing a dish.

Their were seven of us on Sat. April 6th. We heard a lot of great things about this place but were extremely disappointed. The atmosphere walking in seemed like this place was going to be a great evening. Unfortunately the service and food was not what we expected. The guacamole was very good but the nachos were not. I ordered the Puerco en Salsa Verde which was pork ribs that very steamed or something and placed on plate with watery salsa. The pork had no flavour whatsoever, they could have at least threw them on the grill for flavour. The flour tortillas were greasy, cold and all stuck together. Two of my friends ordered Carne Asada con Frijoles which they said was not too bad. The food arrived cold which my wife was not happy about. We had to ask many times for water, napkins, etc. The drinks were pretty good including the margaritas and mojitos. Unfortunately we will not return.

They gave a good table. That s when it stopped. The service was slow. The food was ok but it gave me severe food poisoning. Our stomach has been upset ever since. When I called, the lady that picked up didn t understand the gravity of the situation and remained unsympathetic. We had - sirloin tacos (tacos de pacos or something). I m embarrassed. I was in the restroom in the restaurant itself after the meal and its just gotten worse. Edit: 2 people sick from the same establishment. They blame it on allergies and took no accountability. Read below for your own knowledge. Edit 2: Offered a better apology and a refund, didn t get the refund. What am I supposed to say?

We what a wonderful time at Mad Mexican yesterday. The food was delicious, very authentic just like in Mexico. We had ceviche, tortilla soup, empanadas, pork tacos, shrimp tacos, tres leches and drinks. Yum! The staff was wonderful. Service was quick. Definitely a new go to place for us. They even have a little shop in the back that customers can purchase authentic Mexican items! We got some Oaxaca cheese!

The people who said it tastes like the food in Mexico.... probably you havent even left you resort in Mexico... Very OVERPRICED! You guys have changed recently the menu and raised the prices too much! Its a no no for me. Not coming back ever again. You are lucky cause there are only 4 restaurants in the area so people dont have too many choices, but I rather make my own tacos. Good luck!

Their offerings are pretty much the typical food that you would find in Mexican restaurants but way more pricier. $40 for mole and $25 for tacos that you have to assemble yourself. I felt like that the prices would have been justifiable if the food was elevated or refined, but Ive had better Mexican food for less in other places in Toronto. Response to the owner: we were not looking for cheap food. As I ve said in my review, the prices would be justified if you offered an elevated dining experience, but you don t. I don t know if you re solely targeting the affluent residents of BabyPoint but for us average customers, what we received simply was not worth the cost. Also you talk about living wages for your staff but then expect your customers to tip at a minimum of18%? But you were definitely right though in that your place isn t for us.

Mad Mexican is an absolute gem! The impeccable service and authentic flavors make it a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, the staffs warmth made us feel right at home. The menu offers a delightful array of Mexican delights, and each dish surpassed our expectations. The flavors were rich, and the attention to detail in presentation was superb. A culinary experience that deserves a solid 5 stars, and their margaritas? Pure perfection a delightful addition to an already amazing meal!

They were not as full on a Saturday for dinner service and we could have done with a better service from the servers. Excellent and authentic Mexican meal today! I had 3 tacos - Fish, Carnitas and beef; all were excellent with fresh ingredients and attractive presentations, too. Guacamole was one of the best weve ha too. Service was very good even with the restaurant being full. We will be returning -- its hard to find authentic Mexican cuisine, and Mad Mexican is one of the best in Toronto.

Visited for the first time on a Valentines date and I am unfortunately not impressed. We were seated at a table without napkins or cutlery, waited 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, only got 4 tortillas with an order that should have included 10, and didnt get any salsa like was promised with our orders. Also annoyingly, the menu was a QR code and didnt seem to have much of what was promised when I checked the menu online earlier in the month. Do they change the menu for holidays? Kind of frustrating, honestly. The food itself also wasnt anything special for the price. The cocktails were at least good. Id be willing to try them again on a non-holiday but tonight was a miss. The only real bright spot was the waitress Esmeralda who was charming and lovely.

The food was really good, everything was delicious. In my opinion it is expensive. Most dishes are above $20, including tacos. You can find the same quality and flavor tacos for a lot less.

Food is decent but for the price they could add a bit more garnish & love. Feels very bare bones. Service here is always terrible. Tonight they threw away quesadillas we clearly asked to be boxed up. When I told the server she didn t care at all. Not a great experience.

This restaurant has been in this location for many years so it must be successful. They seem to be offering a more upscale Mexican food experience which in my opinion takes away the sense of authenticity. The food and drinks are pricey and not of a quality that necessarily denotes the price, but the service is good. So if youre looking for a nice family dinner out I would recommend but I wouldnt go expecting authentic Mexican food or atmosphere.

They had no menu,s, everything on your phone, to small to read, my girlfriend lived in Mexico, she says its not Mexican food, way to expensive.

Torta + Margarita + Churros. That s a combination you can never go wrong with at Mad Mexican. The staff was super friendly, and the food kept it s quality even with their new menu change! Definitely would recommend 10/10!

A bit pricey, if offered guacamole & chips, its not free/cheap. Music a little loud recommend for friends, not the best for an intimate date, food is good, good service

First time visiting this restaurant. Honestly not a fan. The waitress were a bit too impatient in taking our order. She suggested if we want some chips and guac while we decide (its been legit 5 mins) and we said yes only to realize that they will be charging us $15 for it. The food (tacos and enchiladas) was very average. To be honest, its the worst $100 (for two) I have spent in a very long time. This amount of money for two people should and could give you 10x more value. Never coming back.

Got a trio cochinita pibil, take out through uber eats. Quite expensive but tasty. It was very salty to my palate, but it was pretty good.

Can t say enough good things about the Mad Mexican. Everything on the menu was great (I ate off of everyone s plate) so I know! The Guac was incredible as well. But the service was even better! 10 out of 10 Food : 5/5

Excellent flan!

Mad Mexican exceeded my expectations with their delectable fish tacos! The flavors were fresh, the fish was perfectly cooked, and the toppings added just the right amount of zing. A must-try for any seafood lover. Ill definitely be coming back for more!

What an evening ..The revolution torta and burrito was to die for. and the taco selections are delish ( steak & cheese ). The dining experience overall was very pleasant. For a date night, with fam or evening hanging with your buddies.

Good atmosphere but not friendly service. Was disappointed as it was for my birthday. Fish taco taste fishy. I was born eating fish so I know when fish is not fresh. The rest of our order was just bleh.
