Have eaten at both of the locations, and have enjoyed a great meal at both. Great atmosphere, food and service. Must Try!

While the taste was great, the quantity of the food was less compared to the cost of the item.

This is such a cool place to visit, they have good drinks and great food. The staff are so friendly and I highly recommend checking out the patio in the back or going on a Friday night.

always a great experience, food is always a hit. customer service is always top notch, refilling cups, removing empty plates and kind banter with customers! portion sizes definitely depleted since prior to the pandemic but it s quality is still great.

Great ambiance and good food

First time going and I wasn t fairly let down, order the beef quesadillas and Birria tacos, both said they were an order of 4. The quesadilla was one cut into 4 with very little flavour to it. The birria tacos tasted excellent but for $20 you only got 4 little palm sized tacos with zero sides to it. Was fairly dissatisfied with it.

Ordered 2 plate taco birrias ( 8 tacos ) They sent just 1 plate (4 tacos ) ... No way to get a refund...not right

Putting one star as I called they have patio and it is not pet friendly. Sorry to put one star without trying the food but patio should be pet friendly in my opinion.

I recently had a surprise party for my boyfriend at Mexitaco by the Bluffs. We used their large, heated back patio which fit over 60 guests perfectly. The food was great, vibes were great, and customer service was A1! Alex allowed me to come check out the restaurant ahead of time and the staff was so patient, answering all my questions and making sure everyone enjoyed their food and had an amazing time. I am especially grateful for Ariel who helped me plan the party, he really went ABOVE and BEYOND. Thank you Mexitaco!

This place is awesome! Ambiance is authentic, the waiting staff are very accommodating and kind and the food is 10/10 good!! I ve ordered for takeout in the past and love it but dined in for Cinco de Mayo. Fresh and delicious tacos. My partner had a burrito, it was huge and he loved it. Happy to support local bluffs businesses like this!

Finally had a chance to visit Mexitaco By The Bluffs and we re not disappointed! The authentic Mexican food was delicious. The decor, the music and the servers transported us back to Mexico and we can t wait to go back and try other menu items. So many things to choose from!!

Visit here regularly. Always good and fresh food.

Sorry guys , this is disappointing... I ordered take out. Weird taste meat burito and taco... Didnt even finish my food. I had to throw it out... Decor inside was fun but food was HOORRIBLE! Service was ok.

I am not someone to write a review, but I feel inclined to as I was very disappointed. I ordered the Birria tacos, chorizo tacos and churros. The churros were alright; but all of the tacos were very bland and small, especially the Birria tacos. The consume was flavourless, very bland. I will never order from them again or recommend them.

We went 8 people, 4 adults and 4 children. I went in to ask for a table for 8 and he said that if I had a reservation (but it was like the attitude like if he had no space and I told him no and I kind of laugh because I told him the restaurant is empty, arent you going to deny us a table right? and he said, I was just asking in case you had one, if I had one, I would have said, I have a reservation DUH !! ), then I went outside to wait for the rest of the group and when I came back in, the waiter told me that he was going to charge me 18% for tip because they charge that from 8 people an up (what a coincidence!) for serving them to which I told him that we were 8 but two of the kids wouldnt eat thus he will be serving only 6, at the end one of those kids order (btw didnt finish the food cause she didnt like it) anyways he served 7 people to which is still under 8 and still at the end charged us 18% for tip and it is not about the money but about the principle because we didnt have the waiter running around for us like you know 8 people might had or make to many requests but we didnt and also becuase I believe he just tricked us because I am a woman and the restaurant was empty, so he tried to earn money because it was a slow night. I checked the website, the menu and I dont see the policy about this automatic 8 peoples tip. Now about the food, it was meh, not really something I could say it was delicious, I prefer another place in Plaza Latina at Milvan Drive, there the food is delicious and the price is reasonable. I wont ever come back to this place.

We went for the first time just to confirm the good and bad reviews: We tried pastor, the meat needs more Mexican flavor. We tried carnitas, a big disappointment, dry and tasteless. We tried nachos with tinga which saved the night. We tried flank steak, very good meat, I recommend it We tried Carme hoe regular flavor We tried machete de chorizo, good except that the mozzarella cheese is not used, it will taste better with authentic Oaxaca cheese Fast and friendly service, recommended atmosphere. We will return to discuss more of the menu I think we should support our neighborhood businesses

Do yourself a favour and make your way here. Order anything on the menu but please start with the Birria, any of the options. Been here twice in the last 3 days.

Yikes. Over priced. And the quesadilla smelt and tasted gross. The food is not worth it folks. I am very disappointed.

This is the furthest thing I have ever tried from Mexican food without a doubt. No offense but the food tastes like plastic and is too expensive for the portions. If you want to try tacos with a better flavor you can definitely find them at Gus Tacos, they can be found in different parts of Downtown Toronto.

Quesadillas were very good. Service fast and very friendly. My friend Christian took a beer and he said it was very good. I ll be back for sure.

Vegetarian options: This place has got good option for vegetarians. I went for nachos with cheese, tacos and toastadas. all were great. Cherry on top was Sangria cocktail was amazing. Another good option for the drink is Mango with rum. must try. good food, good ambience stay is very friendly ppl.

Ordered the birria burrito and chicken quesadilla and they were very much underwhelming. This was my first time trying birria anything, and I was so excited. The broth was extremely bland. The amount of cheese is what saved the quesadilla, but my daughter would not eat it, and it is one of her favourite meals.

Tonight was our second night there. Both experiences were terrific! The food was delicious and the service was great! Highly recommend!

Great place to eat!

They probably thought that naming their whole menu in Spanish would attract more customers since people would think that its authentic cuisine. I too fell for it since I love Mexican food, and wanted to try out this place. But boy oh boy, was I disappointed? That abomination they call a burrito is now gonna give me PTSDs whenever Ill think of ordering some again, even from a different restaurant.

I ordered from them for a party group of 10 people. Went through the owner who communicated to the kitchen. Each time I called the person answering the phone didn t know about my order day before or day off. That was kind of annoying cause then they would ask around and then call me back. The actual food was good and what was ordered. I d recommend the chicken & chorizo tacos

amazing , amazing , amazing !!!! i went here a day or two ago and the tacos were ! i got the birrria taco s the kind man recommended and let me tell you!!! i was not let down the environment was soooo nice it is very authentic mexican food and the music/setup is put together very well. going back soon to see the patio and try some of the other options on the menu. 10 out of 10

$20 for one small Quesabirria. Food was decent but in terms of quantity, this was so overpriced.

The waitress was lovely, the food was amazing. The jalapeno margarita is a must try.

I have been to this location few times, but I wont be back. Service is not good, they dont offer you water, you have to ask for napkins and cutlery. The portions are small for the price, what I ordered was not good , beef was hard and not flavor At all. They offered dessert,but when it was time for it, they tell you that they dont have, they dont have coffee or tea. Also in in the patio they tell you that they dont gas for the heaters(it happened before too)

The food is very yummy and authentic. We tried the burrito, machete, quesadillas, flauta de pollo, and everything is delicious. Sopa Azteca is a must try. The staff is very courteous

Unfriendly staff. Cold and grimy atmosphere. The patio (nighttime) had bright ugly lights that reminded us of an interrogation room. The kitchen, glimpsed through the open service pass-thru looked dirty. We got up and left. Never to return.

The food was not good, ordered nachos and chicken burritos. The nachos were extremely hard you couldnt even bite into them. We called the restaurant to tell them that and all the guy could say on the phone was nachos are supposed to be that way and the guy on the phone even said we did have a few customers that called about our nachos being like that as if its fine! Ive been sick now for the past few days. Restaurant is also way over priced, I dont recommend it

Cute Mexican restaurant at Scarborough Bluffs. The service is very friendly and quick. They have a patio at the back. We ordered the piña colada and horchata as drinks and the tacos pescado and quesadillas gringa. Drinks were good. The portions are a bit small but taste good. Parking: Paid parking is on the street beside the restaurant

Personally I loved this place. The salsas they give you are amazing and the vibe of the restaurant is immaculate. The music was nice and it the decor was great. It was absolutely empty which was kind of nice. My friend did complain that the tacos were sopping wet. I didn t mind it but he didn t like it at all. The flavour was good though and their wings are huge and really flavourful. Price was also pretty decent. Really nice place overall. Since its on the street it s pretty tough to find parking so dress warm if it s cold out.

The most authentic Mexican food Ive had in a long time! Have known about this place for a long time but finally ordered some last Tuesday. We ordered a bunch of things: the Quesabirria, Tacos El pastor, bean and cheese tostada, Baja fish tacos, Baja shrimp tacos, and several churros. Everything was so fresh and so delicious. Will be one of my new go-to places for now on!

As an elderly Italian man ordering take out, I was very disappointed that the Woman in the kitchen was NOT, I repeat, WAS NOT wearing a mask during a time when there is the new variant on the rise. I ordered from there today. The food quality and quantity was terrible. The tacos had no flavor, the tortillas was soggy meat tasted bland and overall the tacos tasted disgusting! Never ordering from this place again.

I cant tell what amazed me most about this restaurant. The atmosphere was so vibrant and relaxing. The menu was full of absolutely delicious vegetarian friendly options. The staff were fantastic and attentive making this an incredible dinning experience.

Tacos were was overpriced and with little or no chicken. Churros we re burnt yet brought to out table. Veggie tacos my dog would not eat. Terrible terrible food. The tacos are so expensive for small, hand-held tacos that are bland, unseasoned, and lacking any sauce or favouring. You could easily make better tacos at home. Save your money.

First time at the Kingston Road location. Horchata (sweet rice drink) - delicious! Elote (street corn) - good. Plantano (fried plantain) - good, especially with the very tasty salsa verde. Alambre- ok, but not exciting enough to be a house specialty , basically just an unwrapped beef quesadilla. Burrito Pescado - Disappointing; filling of fish, beans, rice, sour cream and guacamole just all turned into a mushy lump inside and not flavourful. If you want fish, stick with the baja tacos. Churros - fried dough itself was very nice, but chocolate dip tasted like it was from a squeeze bottle of cheap chocolate sauce. For the price, I d expect real melted chocolate. Patio was great; heated, protected from wind, fun music playing. Servers were friendly and helpful. Would go again to try a few different dishes.

Tacos, Tacos and More Tacos !!! We love tacos !! What more can I say !! On a nice Saturday evening we went down to Mexictaco By the Bluffs to try some of their popular tacos. I had heard good things about Mexitaco from some fellow foodies and wanted to give it a shot. Mexitaco has a wide variety of tacos that most people can enjoy. They have classic tacos and some theyve added their own touch to. We ordered their House-made Nachos, an order of Elote, which is Mexican Style street corn, a few of the Taco selections Including Tacos de Birria, Flautas de Pollo and the Baja Platter which was an assortment of beer-battered Fish, Calamari and Shrimp served with Pico de Gallo and a Chipotle Mayo Dip. Our table was packed with dishes and we had a feast!! I enjoyed all of the tacos that I tried and really enjoyed dipping my tacos in that amazing Birria broth. The Kids loved the corn and nachos, and they finished their meal with some churros as well. The meal was awesome the service was great, and although somewhat chilly that night we were warm and toasty sitting outside on their heated patio. If youre looking for great Mexican Food and you love tacos you have to try Mexitaco, you wont be disappointed !!

The Baja fish tacos are great, though you d prob need to eat like 5 tacos to feel full. The Birria tacos are pretty bland, even with the broth and salsa. I feel they are holding back on spice in general which is unfortunate. The burritos are all great and filling though.

Overall good. Keep in mind that portions are relatively small, so you need a least 2-3 tacos sets to feel full. The cake wasnt to our taste at all :(

Terribly slow service. The young staff here need better training. I ordered a dish that required tortillas to be served with it, and the tortillas came 30 minutes late. Also wanted more drinks but server never came by so their loss $$ Food was nothing amazing so not sure if Ill come back or recommend it. If I do come back, maybe Ill try dining inside so they will remember I exist.

Im giving one star because its the less that can give. This place is not worth at all, food I so expensive and bad, I tried birria tacos, which tasted awful, all I can tasted was cummin but nothing else, and the broth didnt even has salt, besides the tortillas was so small and only one, not double as it should. Im very disappointed because I spent 50 bucks in worthless food. Obviously Im not coming back to any of your restaurant. As a Mexican I dont recommend this place.

Missed 4 items from my order. Chicken burrito was disgusting. The chicken in it seemed like it was canned meat and tasted like fish. When I called to complain even the staff member I spoke to told me it was not very good!

I was so excited to eat here .My husband almost chipped his tooth on a rock. A rock?! The chef said it was fine, and it was a bone . So clearly was not a bone. So disgusted. See pictures. Moreover, the was no manger on site. When I had first arrived I went to use the women s washroom, to my disbelief there was no toilet paper, or paper towel. The toilet wasn t flushed and the floor was wet. The toilet was leaking all over the floor I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt with regards to the washroom, until the rock . A rock in the food. Ew. I believe if a manger had been there to do their job a lot of this could have been avoided. Or would have at least been less traumatic of an experience for a place I was so excited to go to. The small amount of margarita I got to drink was at least good I guess. Be advised Liquid diet here only .

We were looking forward to some good Mexican food for lunch and were disappointed with what we got. We ordered a fish burrito, chorizo taco and shrimp taco for takeout. We felt that the pricepoint was on the higher side for the small portions and frankly the taste just fell short. Burrito had little flavour, just tasted like rice and flour tortilla. The chorizo tacos were dry. The shrimp taco was the exception. Dont think wed come back.

Tacos are tiny. They are as big as the palm of your hand. Great flavour. You have to spend like $50 to get full and Im not even a big guy. I think Ill stick to my spot in Kensington Market! lol

Came in for a quick lunch on a Sunday as I was taking a course nearby. The staff was incredibly friendly and service was quick. The Birria tacos were amazing and I highly recommend them. They don t skimp on sides or quantities of meat either. It s tough to find authentic Mexican out here but this place is a diamond in the rough

Had a delicious dinner here with friends. We ordered SEVEN dishes and had a great time stuffing our faces . The standouts were: Mexican fries, Birria tacos, and frozen mangonada drink. Loved the salsas and nachos as well.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice but my partner and I had a disappointing experience and will not be returning.There was no water offered to us at all when we got there and the food was overpriced for what you get. The food also made us really sick the next day and we had frequent unpleasant washroom visits. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I really wanted to like this restaurant and was excited to visit with my partner, but unfortunately I won t be returning. The food tasted decent, nothing great but it wasn t bad either. But after ordering the birria tacos, shrimp tacos and jalepino margarita, we both I got really sick that day and the sickness continued over the following days. Unfortunately I won t be returning as we both got food poisoning.

So I live a couple doors down and ive really wanted to try this place finally did and only thing that was good was the the drink I got the taco was terrible, it was plain and dry like there is a problem when the shell has more flavor that the meat inside I dont think ill be eating here again.

Food here was amazing! If youre sensitive to spice and heat then Id definitely recommend avoiding anything spicy here (even the salsa). But the street corn is the best Ive ever had (even better than stuff Ive had in Texas)! Vegetarian options: Able to make changes to meals to exclude meat! Parking: Free on street parking. Kid-friendliness: Able to make changes to meals for the picky eaters!

Ordered thru UberEats and enjoyed Birria tacos, corn on the cob with amazing toppings and plantain. Packaged very well, received at a great temperature and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and definitely look forward on stopping by in person

After spending an entire day down by the bluffs, 7 of us wanted to grab some food. We randomly chose this place and we were not disappointed. Every dish we got, including nachos, tacos, wings etc., was amazing. So much flavor in every bite. Will definitely be coming back here again.

I sadly have to report that the two times I have ordered from here have been very disappointing. The staff were very friendly but it couldnt make up for the very bland food. I tasted mold which made me lose confidence in the kitchen.

Went to Mexitaco last night for the first time and so happy we did! The staff were so nice, great authentic atmosphere, lively music and inclusive nature. The table was set with waters, multiple choice of sauces and limes to start. Absolutely will go again with more friends.

Well a dinner for 2 being $100 and all we had was enchiladas, Id say thats pretty pricey. Meal size was ridiculously small also, I was shocked at what little was on the plane for the meat portion it was so thin and not tasty along with being tough meat to chew. The waiter never came back after he served our food, we needed a drinks plus some napkins. I had to get up and ask. I wouldnt go back.

I felt the portions were extremely small, even though the price was cheap. My friend liked them. Sadly I dont have a pic of those tacos. Delicious food and kind staff. I used to go to the location at Victoria Park and St. Clair - which is also great. The Kingston Road location is much closer to my home and the food does not disappoint. Two tacos and a margarita are just enough for me. My husband enjoys the beef burritos and burrias.

Over all an amazing experience. Must try the nachos and the Machetes. Worth the price and very quick service . Very friendly staff and the cocktails were cherry on the cake .Gracias
