1182 Queen St E, Toronto, ON M4M 1L4, Canada
Cozy, casual Mexican restaurant serving plated tacos and refreshing cocktails.
If you're in the Queen St East area and looking for a cozy Korean/Mexican fusion restaurant, I highly recommend this little gem. Our waitress, Lisa, was incredibly sweet, helpful, accommodating and more than willing to assist us with any questions we had about the items on the menu. We had the nachos and wings to start and I must say every reviewer had it right, the portions were huge and full of flavor. Our main was the Taco flight, which I recommend if you have room after the apps. Their cocktails were unique, not only in ingredients but flavor. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients. We can't wait to return to try everything else on the menu.
We dined here while visiting Toronto in November and had the best meal! Starting off, the service was wonderful. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The atmosphere was cozy and fun, and we were able to be seated without waiting. The food was phenomenal! Everything had so much flavor and was cooked perfectly, truly an amazing meal. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area!
Tinga Kim is a cozy little spot downtown, mixing Korean-inspired flavors with classic Mexican tacos. It’s run by a super friendly owner, and the whole vibe is relaxed and welcoming—perfect for a casual night out. In a city where good tacos are hit or miss, Tinga Kim really stands out. Their taco flights are a great way to sample the menu—you can choose three regular tacos or six premium ones. The prices are pretty typical for Toronto, maybe even a bit cheaper, but what really makes them special is their creativity. Most taco places in the city are either bland or forgettable, but Tinga Kim’s combos are anything but boring. We tried the Longosta (lobster), Pulpo (octopus), Pescado (fish), Maapo Libre (Galbi beef), Al Pastor, and Carne Asada. Everything was good, but the lobster and Al Pastor were the real winners. Plus, their taco shells were spot-on—not dry or crumbly like some places, which was a nice bonus. One of us has a tree nut allergy, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They double-checked everything and made sure we felt comfortable, which we really appreciated. We also ordered the tuna tostada. It was tasty, but at $15 for just one, it didn’t feel like great value compared to the tacos. All in all, Tinga Kim is one of the better taco spots downtown. Their unique menu, solid flavors, and thoughtful service make it a place I’d definitely go back to. If you’re looking for something fun and different in the taco world, give it a shot! An additional note, they offer 10% off if paying with cash.
The food is very delicious and the employees are very kind. The interior and atmosphere of the store are very good. I had an unforgettable experience here!! The employees made the birthday cake a surprise on the spot😭😭🥹🥹 a really unforgettable birthday event~~!! I was very moved by the warm heart. I will come back next time~!!
Absolutely mindblowing food. I noticed the high rating while browsing Google Maps and after eating here, I can’t believe that I had never heard of it before. Their chicken wings with gochujang sauce are the best chicken wings I’ve had in Toronto. They are battered perfectly heavy and crispy. Their elote is absolutely perfect. Tacos are amazing too, of course. I am already planning a return trip to get those wings again and try everything else on the menu.
this is easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in toronto in a long time! the staff, food, and atmosphere were all a 10/10. we got the chips and guac, rojo k-wings, quesabirria, and chicken cabron. the portions were generous and everything was so flavorful. definitely adding this to our date night rotation!
My partner and I went here for dinner, it’s was kind of empty but looked cute. We ordered the small size of k-wings, they were good but wished they were a bit more spicy, but good flavour. We ordered chicken tacos, and the fish tacos as well, the chicken tacos were definitely our favourite. They held a lot of flavour! The fish tacos were really good as well and the portions were big, but compared to the chicken they didn’t have as much flavour.
Excellent tacos and great atmosphere and service! Fusion food with ginormous tacos that fuse Mexican tradition, modern take, and typical Korean flavours like bulgogi! Their patio is outstanding and we really loved the desserts, both flan and churros alike!
Actually good Mexican/Korean fusion, majority of restaurants ruin it by really failing at the Mexican part but Tinga did an amazing job flavourful tacos you can enjoy and amazing nachos. The only weird thing is ordering through the site while being in but the food is worth the trip.
most foods are fried and a little oily, but good flavors
Absolutely amazing Korean inspired taqueria on Queen East. We had the flight of 6 tacos: 2x chicken, 2x beef and 2x pork.
My girls questioned my selection until the food was brought out. Fantastic food and beautiful presentation.
This is a wonderful cozy spot for good food, good drinks and amazing vibes. We ordered the guac, kbbq wings, an array of tacos and drinks. The tacos were so delicious and filling, guac was fresh and flavourful, the wings were outstanding! So crispy and the sauce was perfect, right amount of heat and sweetness. The margarita Kim was a delightful drink, and their take on an espresso martini was fantastic. Had the flan for dessert, creamy and not too sweet.
Went for a dinner. Didn t know what to expect but it exceeded the expectations. For was delicious and staff friendly and very nice. Definitely coming for more. Highly recommend
What a gem! Came across this while in the neighborhood and it was the perfect treat for a date night. Charming atmosphere playing upbeat Latin music and the surprise fusion of Korean and tacos. We got the taco platter and ceviche and loved everything. The meat were all tender and mouthwateringly seasoned and the ceviche was the perfect tangy to kick-start our appetite. Highly recommend and will definitely be back !
First off, the tacos themselves were mediocre at best, but that s the least of my problems. The real issue came after I ate. Within hours, I was violently ill nausea, stomach cramps, and vomiting. I ve had food poisoning before, but nothing quite like this. The worst part? They only accept e-transfer for payment. Who runs a business in 2024 without offering multiple payment options? Its incredibly inconvenient and unprofessional. I would strongly advise anyone to stay far away from this place. It s unsafe, unsanitary, and clearly not concerned with customer health or satisfaction. Spend your money elsewhere!
The wings are a must!
Loved everything about this place! Taco flight with chefs selection was fun and they were all delicious! Plus elotes and churros are a must! Staff was so sweet and service was quick
Ive been a few times now. Always delicious. The back patio is great.
It is very tasty and lots of layers flavor. Some kind of innovative way to embed Asian (Korean )flavor into Mexican food Food
I had an amazing lunch. This place is small, but had great ambiance. The food was amazing, I could not stop but ordered more.
The tacos were incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor, every bite was delicious! The quality and taste really stood out. We absolutely will be returning customers.
Would recommend!
Love their sample platers are the best! So good!
4.5. Only two vegan taco options but they re both delicious. The chorizo taco made vegan could use another element given that the cheese is removed. A little pricey for a single taco but the portion is a decent size. Staff were really friendly but we weren t offered drinks (or hot sauce with a la carte tacos), they didn t check in, and I had to ask whether we walk up to pay the bill.
Food was amazing, never felt so full yet satisfied at the same time. Got the nachos. Was loaded and generous, but didnt feel full afterwards. Then got the taco flight (three hard, three soft, chefs choice). Two of the three hard taco tortillas were kinda of chewy, but all six tacos were top notch.
Ordered first class flight, cheese quesadillas and tuna tostada. My first time disliking tacos. Too many flavours overpowering each other: pickled stuff, sauces. Tostada had only 4 cubes of tuna and a giant salad with strong dressing - you don t even notice tuna. Quesadillas were soggy and greasy.
Very friendly staff and great selection. Definitely recommend visiting.
Back again before a show at History. We sat on the patio a d it was packed, but perfect. Enjoyed the guac & chips to start with margaritas. Tried two soft and two hard tacos. All were delish, but the soft were easier to eat. Finished off with some churros! Another fantastic visit.
Great for Instagram, but not for your taste buds. I tried the First Class Fleet with three seafood tacos, a quesadilla, and a tuna tostada. The tacos were overloaded with mismatched flavors Korean-Mexican fusion gone wrong. The quesadilla was soggy and underwhelming, and the tuna tostada was forgettable. Overall, the food just didn t work. I won t be back.
Second time in today. Normally I feel odd dining alone, but this place always makes me feel welcome. The drinks are great the servers are super friendly and attentive, tacos are awesome too. 10/10 must recommend.
The food has such great flavours and the vibe of the patio is so colourful. Recommend 100%
Our friend Kim decided to go here because it has her name it. Thanks Kim! Kims a Kimming again! This is a Korean-Mexican infused restaurant. It was delicious. We had the Guac & Chips, Elotes (grilled corn, creamy garlic, Arnold, cotija), the Barbados braised beef brisket taco, and finished off with some churros! Awesome atmosphere, back patio was beautiful, and the service was great!
Delicious, fresh, and bold flavours. Generous portion sizes on variety of the tacos that were ordered. Also tried the k wings with rojo sauce, so amazing. Staff very friendly and quick service. Highly recommend!!!
All around a great place awesome food and service, just dont wear white the barbacoa is a messy eat.
Everything was fantastic except the smokey drink (forget exactly what its called)... I couldnt even finish it, and anyone who knows me knows thats unusual
The fusion between Korean spice and a Mexican dish is absolutely unreal, some of the best tacos I ve ever had.
Got a burrito and tacos. The burrito was mostly sauce with a little bit of meat. The tacos were decent. I wouldnt go back. Im not sure why its a 4.8 on google maps.
Amazing gourmet tacos
I was recommended to try their taco by their staff member, Sky. I was not disappointed at all. I tried the chicken and shrimp taco, and it was amazing. Take my money! I will definitely be a regular.
Great service and amazing food
Very good tacos with generous and flavourful fillings.
Loved the galbi and the shrimp tacos SO much. Also super enjoyed the ceviche (but I love ceviche generally and I love spicy) although my friend thought it was a bit too spicy for her. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. I loved this place and can t wait to try more items in the menu. It was inventive and super tasty! One of my favourites I ve tried this year! Vegetarian options: I didn t try the veg options: tofu tacos, quesadilla, guacamole and chips, nachos, veggie chorizo tacos.
After struggling to find a place open in the long weekend, we found this gem of a restaurant with amazing food, drinks and service.
Great tacos. Especially fans of the carnitas, tinga, and pescado. The K wings were also an unexpected highlight!
Our family went for lunch and were blown away! The presentation of food and flavours were outstanding. The quesadilla was delicious and the taco sampler outstanding. The guacamole and chips was the perfect starter. The service was friendly and attentive. We high recommend.
It was indeed very delicious Mexican foods with korean flavours! We enjoyed the patio for Summer time :)
Best tacos I ve had in the city! The tasting platter was 10/10, my favourite being the mango chicken one!
Very tasty, saucy and creative tacos Don t go with a white shirt I ll come back Thanks Recommended dishes Tinga Kim
Absolute genius combination of Korean flavours with Mexican food. Amazingly delicious!
Great patio vibes, and amazing tacos. Chefs recommend platter was fantastic
Best place to get tacos, some with a Korean twist. The carnitas and other pork tacos are delicious. Churros could be better.
Delicious tacos, great service and a lovely atmosphere!
Such a cute place! Open windows at the front in the summer gave such a nice breeze, and music was hitting my jams. Yummy food for sure, its a Korean Mexican fusion. Hot sauce is not spicy tho
This place deserves to be busier!! Tried them once when they first opened, but it is so much better now. Not only are they so accommodating of kids, but the tacos were so so good. My favourite are the chicken tinga and the carnitas. Lunch special is a super good deal. Need to do back for the breakfast burrito.
Crazy delicious. Really good value (and 10% off if paying with cash). Got the Taco Flight (6 tacos, chefs choice, $40) thinking soft tacos are usually a two-bite dish. I was properly warned by the server that the flight is meant for two people. Got it for myself anyway. And wow those tacos are piled high with meat. Had to chip away at them with a fork before I could pick them up. Managed to eat all six but I was uncomfortably full. Definitely going back, but I will be bringing the wife next time to share the flight with :) Kid-friendliness: There were two tables with young kids eating there when we arrived.
I enjoyed lots. What a place!
The taco is very filling with saucy meat. We enjoyed every single bite of their tacos!! Most amazingly, they allow dogs into their back patio. The restaurant that allow dogs truly knows how to make good food and enjoy life. P.S. The lunch special is indeed special.
Back patio, delicious cocktails and tacos (barbacoa especially stood out)
Delicious tacos, both the fusion and the more traditional ones. Service is great and a nice back patio.
Great food, patio allows dogs! Cocktails are innovative and delicious
You Must Try!!!!!
Really tasty tacos. The flights are filling and a good deal. Really nice beer on tap.
Solid food, very inventive. Incorporates subtle Korean flavours into Mexican cuisine! We had the taco flights which was a good choice especially since it was our first time. Had the ceviche which was good but portion was small for the price.
Delicious and creative combos! Excellent service too!!
I arrived a little after 12 oclock and was the first customer. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service from the staff was friendly and friendly. Above all, the food is delicious and plentiful. Recommended as a must-visit restaurant in Toronto!
Delicious! The flight of tacos is the winner for me.
Cute Asian influenced mexican resturant with tasty food. Tables include half booth and chairs. Decor includes a large blackboard with chalk written specials and mexican inspired drawings. Sometimes loud because patrons try to speak above the music, pop inspired mix. Service was good but almost ate the wrong taco given to me due to a small mix up. Hard to tell in the dimly lit bar like ambiance. Otherwise wait staff was attentive and came to check on patrons several times. 1st course nachos: well covered with veggies including tomatoes and radish, mexican Oaxaca cheese, guacamole, and beans. Enough to share with 3-4. 2nd course: ceviche with white fish and looked like a soup. Plated in a way it looked like nachos but has no cheese! Tasty, well spiced with citrus but be careful of the peppercorn spice. Last course: veggie chorizo and octopus taco: overflowing taco with plenty of meat and pickled veggies, well balanced, and on a corn tortilla. Unfortunately, cannot choose the type of tacos on taco flight if you want to share and have food allergies. My foodmates had the chicken quesadilla: which they reported as the best theyve had; and fish taco which was crispy and delicious. Cost: $19 ceviche; $19 nachos; tacos $9-11 each; quesadilla $14; drinks; $8-$20 (cocktails). Total $50/person. Overall would return, be careful with the spice, nice service, a little loud and might need more lighting to confirm food. Probably 4.5* Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Very innovative and delicious food. Excellent cocktails. Great vibe. Pleasant staff (though service was a little on the slow side) The fusion of Korean and Mexican gave some really memorable flavors and textures for the tacos. They also have Mexican-only tacos - The carne asada was some of the best Ive had. The queso chips was excellent, the flan delicious.
Delicious wings, amazing tacos, great atmosphere and street parking nearby.
Not a Mexican restaurant, its a Asian /Mexican place. Taco does not taste Mexican they taste more Korean style cuisine. Over all a good experience but I wish it wasnt listed as Mexican.
I love the flavour of the food and the services it was amazing, they are pet friendly you can stay with your dog on the back patio
Tl;dr....just go to this place for the tacos. They are legit! I wish someone had told me that before. Because the nachos were awful (squirt cheese...really?!) and the drinks way too sweet and overpriced. Service was friendly, but slow as the servers also had to make the drinks and run the till. Maybe someone called out the night we were there, but if not...better to hire one more staff to make the drinks at very least! Along with the tacos being very good...the ceviche was also quite nice. They do also make a good guac. The flan was also a disappointment...way too dense and the dulce de leche sauce tasted very off.
Lovely staff, very dog-friendly, the soft tacos are amazingggg
Tinga Kim Taqueria is a hidden gem in Leslieville, offering a unique Mexican-Korean inspired menu that will leave you craving more. The restaurant itself is cute and perfect for a date night, with a great ambiance that sets the scene for a memorable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, youll be impressed by the excellent customer service. The staff is friendly and accommodating. But lets talk about the food. The tacos at Tinga Kim Taqueria are shockingly good some of the best Ive had in Toronto. I highly recommend trying the taco flight, which allows you to sample a variety of their delicious tacos. While the menu states that the tacos are chosen at the chefs discretion, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we could request specific types over others to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Although the prices may seem a bit high at first glance, the quality and taste of the food more than justify it. In fact, we were so blown away by how delicious the tacos were that we ended up ordering another round of the taco flight. Each taco had its own unique flavor profile, and they were all equally satisfying. Beyond the tacos, we were impressed by the elotes, perfectly grilled corn splattered with creamy garlic. Overall, Tinga Kim Taqueria exceeded our expectations in every way. If youre looking for delicious and unique tacos in a charming atmosphere, this is the place to go. I cant recommend it highly enough!
Everything was great, tortillas were fresh and my two other guests loved everything that landed on the table. Service was friendly and swift (especially for a 1 person operation at the time!). We were early and snagged a spot at the front rollup window in the sun. Recommended!
Oh wow everything. Shrimp taco out of this world!
Great little taco shop. It will definitely pay to get a reservation. If theres any complaint it is about too much filling for the tacos. I liked, but didnt love the sunshine cerviche. Vegetarian options: Not the hugest number of vegetarian options among the mains, but among those that are there, theyre delicious. I highly recommend the vegan chorizo
everything i had was delicious! drinks dinner and dessert.... we sat by the big open window. really nice time! great service :) Vegetarian options: the veggie chorizo was amazing
Had a great meal with the premium taco platter. My favourite was the shrimp. Least was the fish but all were pretty tasty. Also had the dry rub wings and they were fantastic. The only thing i think needs to be completely reworked is the flan - it was too dense and cakey and too sweet with the dulce de leche. It really didn t feel like a flan more like a cake. Overall would definitely come back. Some of the tastiest tacos I had recently.
This place makes great Mexican Korean fusion food! AMAZING cocktails. The best elote ever. Great tacos and wings. Theres a gorgeous patio in the summer...dog friendly! Highly recommend.
Overall the food was OK but too salty with not a ton of other flavour. We ordered the street corn and it was covered in tons of sauce. I asked the server how to eat it and she just said you have to eat it with your hands and get super messy because it s authentic . This is a Korean Mexican fusion restaurant in Toronto so what part of this is supposed to be authentic? if you re going to cover in that much sauce, give us some corn cob holders! The corn got stuck in our teeth so I asked for a toothpick or something but they said they didn t have anything and instead just brought more napkins. When the main courses came, they put the meat tacos in front of the vegetarian and the vegetarian tacos in front of the meat eater and walked away. We didn t know this until after several bites. Not cool.
We were so excited to find this little gem in the east end. Great tacos are an art and this place has got it!. First things first, its a small sweet place with a giant open front window and a quaint patio out back that you wouldnt even know exists if not for the great staff, therefore this place will be great this summer. I can already see it. I had a coffee infused Negroni, and a Negroni would approve! Bae had a Jamaica Agua Fresca inspired cocktail, hmm hibiscus by any name is sweet ya see. The Eltoes were the best I have ever had.... Just the right amount of garlic creamy sauce, really not that creamy. Lots of seasoning. Super sweet corn on the cob. Strong recommendation. I was in the mood for Nachos, which was the whole reason we left the house, and Im so glad the nachos did not disappoint. The cheese was plenty, Amen. The pickled jalapenos were bright green and obviously homemade, again, amen. Hahaha. I loved the shrimp Pingo taco more than anything! It had a kinda like sweet and sour sauce.... So good.
Delicious food, generous portions. I really loved the fish soft taco. The salad was big, fresh and flavourful. Servers were very helpful in explaining the menu options and size difference between flight tacos and solo tacos. Nice patio.
Great place , we had lunch in the back patio and overall it was fantastic food. Quesadillas and ceviche were great and the service was so nice and attentive
I know tinga Kim has been in the neighborhood for a while, but wow, what a nice addition. We went for some tacos, we had the premium Taco platter, and it was amazing! The food is fresh and tasty. I absolutely cant wait to go back!
Good area and good service
So delicious and would come back in a heart beat. The food is do good. I LOVE THEIR TACOS. Only issue was service is SO. SLOW. like REALLY SLOW. we waited over an hr to get our food. But they only had like 3 to 4 people working and one server was very very new and they were packed so who knows, hopefully they hire more people or normally have more staff working. They literally had to turn away people bc they were so busy and couldnt manage the rush. Staff was very nice and apologetic and the food made up for it and wasnt compromised by the lack of staff. Tcos were so crispy and tasty and everything was flavored so well! Drinks could be a bit better, less sugary and more complex and balanced and more non alcohol options. Also if I get a non alcoholic drink and I get served the alcohol drink just without the booze I shouldnt be charged full price for it. Vegetarian options: Good! Wish they had impossible meat
Great food, sloooooow service. Maybe it was just the night I went but it took forever to get our orders taken and brought out. Since then we mostly just Uber eats as we find that much more reliable, just a shame it doesnt transport as well
An excellent lunch! We had a the veggie dubu tacos. Super loaded with a generous amount of tofu. They also substituted the breakfast burrito with vegan chorizo. Great flavours and very friendly staff. We wil be back.
The food and service is fantastic! Cant wait to go back
Tacos were delicious. Cocktails really good as well.
This is an amazing place to eat delicious Korean-Mexican style food. The staff is charming and the atmosphere is great. Bring your lovely dates here because it will be worth it. I need to come back to try everything on the menu. The chicken wings and Ting Kim tacos are heaven on earth.
Unbelievably tasty tacos! Unassuming front - great atmosphere inside. Highly recommended.
Food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond, will be returning!
5-star experience with delicious eats at this Queen East taco spot. The taco flight is a great option to try a bit of everything. Tacos are super loaded and packed with flavour. Will be back to try more!
I highly recommend this place! The tacos were delicious. I tried the bulgogi and the tinga Kim, and had the tinga margarita I loved them all. I also thought the venue was very cute, and the music was awesome, amounting to a lovely atmosphere.
The food here is incredibly good. The staff is super friendly. Will be coming back to try all of their tacos!
Delish tacos and ceviche
Great atmosphere and food. The guacamole is so nice and fresh. I love it. Cocktails and nachos are perfect together
Best quesadilla I ve ever had. Highly recommend.
Everything was fantastic!!! My friend and I had tuna tostadas for two to start and they were delicious, then we each a barbacoa taco, pawn taco and octopus taco they were all mouthwatering, variation in spice levels but really really excellent!!!
Honestly this food blew my mind everything was so tasty Im already counting down till I can go back! I truly loved every taco we tried!!! The flavours were so good! Thanks for a great experience
Thoroughly enjoyed Tinga. It is a small restaurant, so reservations highly recommended. A few walk-ins were turned away because they were fully booked. Definitely recommend if youre looking for a good taco with some unique flavours. Looks to be owned & operated by Koreans and they definitely put a nice Korean flair in traditional Mexican dishes. Service was attentive and friendly and has a nice vibe to it. We enjoyed the food but something small was missing in terms of Korean flavour punches like herbs & spices. Love Korean food and get that some Korean flavours arent liked by all. What we ordered: Kwings 18 - ordered the large portion so we could get half & half flavour. Rojo (Gochujang-based) and Oro (soy-based) were both delicious & crispy. Recommend the half & half. Came with 6 full wings, so technically 6 drums & 6 flats. Decent portion as an app. Tinga kim chipotle braised chicken taco 8 - wife liked this the most flavourwise. I found it ok. Pulpo octopus 11 - one large flat piece of octopus that was well made. I enjoyed. Maapo libre galbi taco 9 - I really liked this, with nice big chunks of beef. Wife found it ok Pescado fish taco 10 - I also liked this because it had 2 large pieces of fried fish and a nice pickled cabbage topping. bulgogi taco 9 - really good bulgogi flavour, nice sweetness and very Korean! More of this. Glass noodles in it wouldve been great to have. Wife ordered Seoul Tea 13, which was quite good, I ordered the rice lager 8 which was also very good. Bill came to about $100 before tip
Wonderful food and a fabulous vibe and experience. Will be back for sure!
My partner and I decided to go here to celebrate and we were in for a surprise. Service and Atmosphere were on point!! The Chef is very friendly and the plating is just beautiful. I m originally from Mexico and I do think these are one of the best Tacos I ve tried in Toronto. Explosion of flavours!! Honestly i think it will be one of my favorite spots, im already planning to celebrate my Birthday here in July. 1000/10
Great time in a cozy restaurant. Kind staff and awesome taste. Our team had a great memory here. We will come back again with my family or friends. Food : 5/5 |
Try the fish tacos! Best Ive had.
So good! The mix of Mexican and Korean was new for me and I loved it. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Can t wait to go back!
Best tacos I ve had in Canada, highly recommend
Absolutely delicious! Best nachos and tacos I ve ever had. What a fabulous addition to the neighbourhood.
Wow what a fantastic surprise! Foor was delicious drinks were fantastic and service perfect
Amazing Food...
Loved the food the service, did I mention the food? What a concept, Mexican AND Korean. KWings were my fave and the taco flight. Service was excellent. Super friendly and attentive. The only thing I didn t like was the music, it was too loud and really was an ambience killer. If that changes we ll be back, it was rock, country, bangra, Afro beats..trap, some Latin.. very little given it s a Mexican spot.., otherwise it s an Uber eats experience. Soooo worth trying!
Best restaurant in leslieville! Food amazing and staff are wonderful!!! Tacos were delicious!
Amazing service, food was super good. We dug into the food so quickly, there wasnt enough time to get pictures of the food.
Experience this Food Very tasty.. Cocktails are divine Food
I met a couple of girlfriends for dinner here. It was -20 so there we were the only ones there and it was great. We ordered the elotes, taco flight and the chicken quesadilla and all food was incredible. We had an amazing dinner and the portion size was perfect. I forgot to take pictures of the food it was so good!
Stumbled upon this place by pure coincidence. Food is great!! Never thought Mexican/Korea fusion could be that good ! And the churros yum!!! Service was excellent. Great experience. Would definitely go back.
Great tacos and excellent ceviche. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Vegetarian options: Good vegan chorizo
Pulpo tacos were our fav and the cocktails were delicious. Will definitely visit again.
So, I came here on a Friday night with some friends. Maybe the chef was having an off night cause our meal was terrible. I had the pulpo and al pastor. The octopus was tough and chewy. The al pastor was bone dry and tough. Not only that, but they smother the tacos with sauces on top, which makes a sloppy mess. I want to enjoy the flavour of the meat! Over priced as well. $10 for a single taco is insane. The margarita kim was meh. Adding the curaçao just makes it look pretty. And at $16, I would have preferee a more traditional margarita. We ended the night with some churros and sent the orders back to the kitchen. They were uncooked in the centre - bleh! Why did I give two stars? Our server was fantastic! I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant but unfortunately I will not return.
Very good service, fresh ingredients. A couple notes as this is a new place that I hope would appreciate the feedback. Your nachos need more cheese- ours had very sparse dollops of cheese. The guacamole was super fresh though so again quality of ingredients not an issue. I found my tacos quite spicy- no problem but maybe in your description have a hot pepper icon or something just to denote the spice level. I know it said chipotle in the description but usually that s more of a Smokey finish rather than super spicy, I was quite surprised and would have ordered something else or would have requested mild if I had known
Really delicious tacos and great service! The tortillas were high quality and the tacos were a generous portion with fresh and tasty ingredients. We sat on the patio which is super cute and will be a great spot for summer.
The service, food, and drinks are 10/10 they even made half vegan nachos for us, which was so great and accommodating. We ve been here twice now and the quality was *terrific* both times.
My mom and I went during their soft opening and omg was the food amazing (the service ranked a close second). Fresh flavours and beautiful plating. I only wish I had given in and taken a picture of my drink, it was beautiful! (But I guess Ill just have to go back again)
Enjoyed a lovely mid-week meal on the charming patio. Had the elotes, guacamole, and chicken tacos. Everything was yummy and the server was kind. Just wish I had pictures to show you but we ate it too quickly!
Went for lunch, would order everything we had again and cant wait to try more. I think some of the feedback regarding spice might be accurate as it was PERFECT for me and I love spice - so people may need clearer warnings if its not there thing. Id agree that Id love to see a kids menu option given the neighbourhood demographic and because I would get to eat here more often myself if they had some kid friendly options! Id love to see people not impact the star rating of a new business when they have negative feedback and contact them directly instead - go back and see if there are improvements before weighing in. Tinga Kim is responsive on Instagram for example - give them a shout there.
Finally tried the new kid on the block! We got take-out (next time will eat in). The tacos were delicious - chorizo and carnitas - and their lovely presentation was a treat for take out. Guacamole and chips appetizer - yum. The staff were professional and very friendly. And the patio is dog-friendly. Who knew! We ll be back soon.
Stumbled on this magical place after an appointment and it realllly hit the spot. Music was lively, patio was beautiful and my amazing server (Sol) helped me with my decision making on what to eat. I was going to order 4 tacos but she advised against it. And she was right! The two alone were filling and the crispy taco tasted homemade! Buttttt I pushed the envelope a bit and ordered churros dessert gyal over here. Thank you Sol for making my experience extra nice with the good laughs and your recommendations.
Best in Toronto
Dietary restrictions: They had lots of gluten-free options Food
Everything is good. Order the shrimp tacos. Do it now.
so so good, best mexican Ive ever had! And the friendliest service
Always the freshest food. Great cocktails. Lovely people.
Really good Mexican food
went with my family as a treat and wow. the staff was incredible, always nice and joking around with my dad. my dad even asked about a special drink they had over a month ago our server was able to recall the drink and had it made for him (tequila mockingbird). food was yum, for someone who doesnt eat spicy food at all i pushed through the pain because it tasted so good. drinks were also amazing. and churros were a perfect was to end the night. we will be back again!!!
Capably executed, and some thought has gone into the recipes. But $10 for a meagerly filled taco seems pretty hard to justify. Doesnt feel like a place I could make a regular hangout, which is a shame because the sauces and the service have a lot going for them!
Amazing food and service. The Tinga Kim taco is the best taco I ve ever had in my life, and I ve had my fair share of them. Very cute back patio as well.
Incredible experience. Lovely back patio. The tacos were among, if not the, best I ve had in the city. Don t wear a white shirt! The staff were also wonderful.
the sunny ceviche and the hard shelled tacos were good
Awesome flavours and tastes! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free corn tacos and chips. Wheelchair accessibility: Main floor.
Really tasty Mexican food. Ceviche and quesadilla were excellent. Had a pastore and barbacoa taco. Both were fantastic. Blue margarita was nice. Not too sweet but alarmingly blue. Service was attentive and quick. Definitely recommend and will return.
Loved it. Delicious tacos and the patio is a great atmosphere.
Cozy little spot for tacos. The patio out back is lovely, and so is the inside decor. The tacos were flavorful and fresh. Loved the sauces and spice levels.
Its great for a drink and the tacos are really delicious.
We have been to Tinga Kim 3 times and now consider it one of our local favorites.. definitely #1 if we are in the mood for Mexican. Great food, great service, good value.
Loved the patio and the food, I had a tuna tostada, a octopus taco, a carnitas taco and the taste was amazing, the salsas where mild hot but delicious flavor and presentation of food is a beauty Im definitely coming back
Easily the best tacos in the neighborhood
The best Mexican food with great vibe. Sitting in a patio feeling summer night breeze with Seoul Tea in hand....made my day. Highly recommened.
Great hefty size wings. Highly battered if you don t mind that. Crispy despite being saucy. Good balance in the Rojo sauce. They keep it real with the drum-wing-tip connected. Please venture outside of pulled meat, not a fan of stringy (also not specific to this place). Proteins inspired by Korean stewed meat would go so well in a taco given the fusion theme. Dare to lean into that a bit further - perhaps a tasty mix of tendon/fat/meat from auntie s kitchen? Would be willing to pay more for solid pieces of say, brisket!
Amazing food!
YUM! We got the Margarita Kim, Blueberry Mojito, and the taco tasting plater (6 tacos for $38!!). The tacos were delicious - particularly the Tinga Kim, definitely the best taco spot in the neighbourhood by far. We sat on the back patio, which was very cute! Service was good and it was easy to get a table. I will definitely be back!
Delicious food and drinks, I had the quesabirria and ruby Jalisco cocktail. Service was excellent! Cute patio and overall nice vibe. Can t wait to go back!
Has been open for a few months and replaced Leslie Jones. Id say good for parties of 1-4, but Id say the could accommodate 6-8 but not easily. I came with a party of 3. Street parking. Really great food, though a little expensive - however this comes from a perspective where I think tacos should just be cheap street food... but these were souped up delicious tacos!! Ordered the nachos - strong topping to chip ratio (lots of toppings) - would recommend utensils for assistance. The paper beneath fell apart and I would suggest to the restaurant to use wax paper or something similar so that patrons dont accidentally consume the liner Also ordered two soft tacos. The menu on the website shows 2 tacos for twice the price but when I went, you could get tacos individually. Still comes with salad and salsas but its not mentioned on the current menu. Red salsa is hotter than green. The individual soft tacos are on 6 tortillas, but there is a special for 6 tacos on 4 tortillas (3 x soft and 3 x hard) which is a great deal and the tacos are chefs choice. I appreciate this effort to maximize / turnover ingredients. I ordered pulpo and al pastor. Both delicious. The house lager is easy drinking. I would have again. We were a party of 3 with a reservation. Whether you reserve indoor/outdoor didnt matter (we reserved indoor but were seated outdoor, but that was only in case of weather so we actually enjoyed the patio). Be sure to tell them when you arrive if you have a preference. Service was a little mixed. We were seated at a table with accessories for 2. A third glass was brought when we were seated but we had to ask for an additional plate/cutlery/napkin. We were served by 3 different people and the challenging service was consistent. However, I will say that we were regularly checked on and the servers were around/available if we needed to flag them. They were all very kind. Throughout these three servers, we had to really clarify our orders to them each time we ordered drinks or food. With at least two of the servers, asking about a menu item made them put it on the order until we clarified we were only asking about it. On one of those miscommunications, an extra taco was brought to the table and the miscommunication was not really acknowledged when we addressed it. When we repeated ourselves to say we didnt order the extra taco, it was kindly removed from the bill. We asked for the bills, separated, which is pretty standard in Toronto these days. They are able to split menu items (e.g. we split the nachos 3 ways). The bills came incorrect but we addressed it and they were brought back corrected (Thank you). As standard in Toronto, the machine tip prompt calculates on the after tax amount. In closing, I would eat here again but recommend to just be patient and VERY clear with the orders. It was a Tuesday night and not very crowded. Beautiful back patio and casual atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Veggie chorizo is an available option on the nachos!
Great addition to the area. Best Mexican from broadview to the beaches. Hands down. Staff super nice. Food is outstanding. Even have a dog friendly patio if you need. Had the fish, octopus, and chicken tacos. All outstanding. Quesadillas were great for the kids and the homemade guacamole and chips were a perfect starter. Highly highly recommend.
Noticed this place on a walk and was looking forward to trying it as I LOVE a good taco :) This place was great! The birria quesadilla delicious as well we had the pork taco and the Korean beef taco both excellently flavourful. Thanks for the tasty dinner, we will be back!
This is truly a magical little east end patio! The server was honestly the sweetest little baby angel and we were obsessed with her. The food was fiiiirrrreee. Get the premium taco flight, each one is so delicious. Also, try the chicken wings, they are saucy, delicious and massive! The back patio is also a cute hidden gem! Picture Barbie s dream house patio but if Barbie was a hipster cook! It s so fun and you need to experience it before it gets cold. So glad I live less than a hall kilometre away from this spot :*)
Blasting music on your patio at 1230 on a Sunday night, the neighbors say thanks...
We had an impromptu private dining experience in the patio out back on a Monday evening. A wonderfully friendly woman taking our order and discussing the menu and drinks made it even better. Solid fancy flat tacos, nice mezcal cocktail, good for a date.
Amazing! The best tacos we have ever tried. For sure we are coming back!
Beauty back patio
Great food, nice summer patio out back. Gluten-free options available!
Absolutely phenomenal service and food. Definitely a must go to!
We were a rowdy group of 16, celebrating a birthday. Their first group and they did a fabulous job. Always making sure we had food and drink at all times and interacting in fun and personable ways. Our menu was set and determined ahead of time and everything was delicious! We may have even spotted Meryl Streep!
Tinga Kim is my absolute fav new Taco/Mexican spot in Leslieville! Highly recommend you check it out. Great tacos, great guac, great margaritas, and great service. What s not to love?
Very delicious combo of flavors in the taco sampler. I will definitely be going back! There was a weird thing going on with the lights turning on and off, but it didnt take away from the food.
Tacos were super delicious. We weren t very hungry when we arrived, but the tacos were so good everyone ordered extras.
Best taco restaurant!!
TL:DR - no pictures, too busy eating amazing food. 100% would recommend. Read for more. My wife and I rarely go out to dinner as it usually leads to a disappointing meal. We are both fantastic cooks. Last night we had to drive our daughter to Toronto and had 3 hours to kill so we decided to go grab a bite to eat. 100% would recommend Tinga Kim. The staff was attentive and showed a real love for the food. They were excited to explain what we were eating and you could see it. The food was outstanding, I am only happy they arent closer because we would definitely eat here more. We started with nachos which were delightfully different from any nacho Ive had before. The chips were flour tortilla chips, thick, with a real crunch to them. We also ordered the 6 taco special to split. Honestly, just outstanding. There was only one on the plate I was meh on but I truly believe it was because the other 5 were so absolutely outstanding. If I had a plate of the meh ones I would have still ranted about them. Just the other 5, 2 of them surprised me so much I asked the staff what the sauce was made with that the meat was braised in. We had the churros for dessert, what can I say about them.. fried dough, sugar, caramel, whipped cream. Anyway, this is probably the longest review Ive written here ever and I would make it longer, but who reads this far.
Great service
The duubuu kim-chi is hands down the best vegan taco I ve ever tasted. Everything else we ve ordered here has been amazing too, but I keep coming back on repeat for these tacos
Randomly happened on this place as I was walking to another place for lunch - 10/10 glad I took the chance. Really good food and reasonable prices, pretty inside.
So happy we tried this place. We loved the restaurant that was in this location previously. Amazing food and drinks and super friendly service. Definitely recommend and will go back!
This place is seriously delicious! The barbacoa was hands down the best taco I ve ever had! Food came quick and the server was really nice. Don t balk at the price ($8-$11 per taco) they re rammed with deliciousness! Will definitely be back.
The nachos were amazing, the service was very poor and the person was not very happy. Perhaps he might ve been tired however that should not be the customers fault. The tacos to be honest all tasted the same besides the Al Pastor. The Barbocoa or something tasted extremely salty and so did the other ones which made it bad. I support small business however I will not return to this place. And I wish they had some sort of ventilation in the place because the kitchen fumes seem to just go into the air and after eating their my clothing smelled like oil.
Fantastic place for a fun, delicious night out! Amazing margaritas, flavourful tacos and the perfect vibe! Will be back for sure
A happy marriage between Mexican and Korean dish! I visited the place with my family and it really hit the spot. The music was lively with romantic lighting, the restaurant was adorned with a perfect mixture of Mexican and Korean decors. We ordered Sunny Ceviche, Al Pastor, Barbacoa, and the Taco Flight for the meal and I was pleasantly surprised with how well the fresh ingredients blended in with the flavour. ESPECIALLY the Sunny Ceviche is a must if you like fish with citrusy sauce. Absolute heaven. Vegetarian options: Guacamole and chips will be amazing for the appetizer option
The chicken wings were unbelievably crispy and delicious
Small place, casual. Great food.
Great little place! The tacos were amazing and the drinks were good too. Good size and great flavour! The tortillas were also really great! The beef brisket crispy taco was my favourite. The only part I didn t love was the guacamole, I thought it was just fine but still totally recommend this place!
Great addition to the neighbourhood! The wings and quesadilla are excellent
