Was recommended the fish tacos and it didnt disappoint. The portion was a little on the small size but otherwise very tasty

Shrimp fajitas lacked flavor. No beans or rice comes with the meal. Nine dollars for a can of beer.

Passed by this place many times and finally got to try it yesterday. It didnt seem like the place was super busy, but we had to wait quite a long time before we got to order. The employees even mentioned that the line was long, but they didnt open up a second register until a good while later. That aside, the employee who served me was very polite and cheerful. We only ordered the Baja fish and the cochinita pibil tacos. The pork was good - really nice flavour but not as much filling. The fish was fried well, and there was a lot going on in terms of flavour - just didnt have the flavour kick that the pork did. The plethora of salsa and hot sauces were pretty fun though and I liked that they included a side of chips along with the tacos. The atmosphere was pretty cool and the decor was beautiful. Overall, the tacos were ok and its a nice place to come and hang with friends.

I usually come here when it s Burrito Time and trust me, it s always Burrito Time at this place. From the moment you walk in, you know you re about to experience a burrito like no other. Seriously, it s always Burrito Time here whether you re grabbing a quick bite on your lunch break or treating yourself after a long day. The portions are generous, the flavors are on point, and every bite makes you realize, it s Burrito Time for life

Placed an order at the restaurant for pick up. Got home and found that they missed 1/3 of the order that I paid for. Theres no way to contact the restaurant other than to go back in person. No phone number, no email, no way to contact them. The food itself is great, but the service is lacking.

There s a lot of hot sauce and salsa selections for Mexican food! This is a place where you order over the counter and you find a seat and they serve you. Food was good, if you re in the area, this is a good option!

Tacos are just alright if you compare to better spots in Toronto like Gus or Seven Lives. There is a really comprehensive sauce / toppings bar with hot sauces and pico de gallo. It s nice how orders come with a side of chips which is a nice touch. It is a little pricey, 3 tacos came out to $21 before tips.

Had veggie fajita, grilled avocado with beans. So far best Mexican I ve ever had in Toronto. Great service, tasty food, and huge space. Specially loved how they kept all the sauces, cutlery, and water pot in a tidy place. Super organized!

Best tacos in town. I loved the tacos. Every of the three different choices i had was awesome. And the different salsas made it a nice experience. Last time i had the burrito and it was very poorly distributed and also very little beef. But the tacos very each and every one very nice.

The absolute best place for quesadillas and fajitas. They have the best sauces! It can be really busy and sometimes there s a wait, but it s definitely worth it!

This is by far my most favorite taco place in the city. The tacos are loaded with plenty of topping. On top of that, there is an unlimited topping bar with all different kinds of salsa, pico de galo, and hot sauces. There is something for every taste bud and spice level. The tacos also come with side of chips and salsa

Really love Wilbur for their tacos and bowls! I think the size of the bowls have reduced quite a bit since the early days however. One of my favourite Mexican spots downtown, reliable and tasty!

The fish tacos were amazing!

Tried three tacos: supreme (chicken), carne asada, and bulgogi. All were tasty but Id say carne asada was the best. It comes with chips and theres a sauce bar with a lot of different sauces so you can help yourself. Overall pretty decent.

This place is out of the world. Mushroom tacos and fish tacos are the best!! With the habanero salsa from the salsa bar and just the vibe with all the super committed people! Can t wait to come back again.

Ive been patronising Wilbur since 14 when they first opened doors. Perhaps one of the best burritos on the planet. Sounds like a big statement, but I stand by it. I remember being in Thailand on a beach one time and thinking that the only thing that could have made this better would be a Cali burrito. A secret item (sauce) one can request is Chipotle crema, which really seals the deal with its spicy sweetness

This place was amazing. One of my favorite meals I ve ever had in Toronto. The fish tacos were some of the best I ve ever had. The shrimp and mushroom quesadilla was also quite good. Chips and guac were excellent. And they had a salsa bar with fresh and interesting salsas available for use with whatever you ordered. Great ambience and great service too! I can t wait to get back there again! Kid-friendliness: We came with teens and pre-teens and it was a good experience for them!

I ordered through Uber Eats and was really let down. The delivery took much longer than expected, and when the food finally arrived, the portions were tiny. The guacamole and chips, in particular, were so small it was hardly enough for one person. The fish tacos were cold, which made them unappetizing, and the burrito was bland and lacked flavor. Overall, the quality was way below expectations, and I m still hungry after eating. I was really disappointed, especially considering the time I waited. Would not recommend ordering from here.

I recently tried the fish taco and the burrito. The fish taco was quite tasty, though not exceptional. The burrito, however, was disappointing; it had good flavors but lacked beef, with barely any carne asada. It was mostly rice and quite dry, with little sauce to improve the texture. The sauce bar is nice with a variety of sauces to choose from. If I come back again, I would try the Carne Asada taco.

This is our favourite fusion taco place! Super friendly staff at the counter, the place is very clean and trendy decor. It can get very busy at time so its a good idea to order in advance if you want takeout. Favs are the Bulgogi (Korean) Tacos which have a little kick. Hands down they have the best selection of salsa for you to choose from at their salsa bar.

Visited Wilbur Mexicana for dine in, ordered a bunch of tacos and veggie burrito, the tacos were excellent, fresh ingredients, juicy, loved the Suvave sauce and Habenero sauce, the service was excellent.

Too much of king west is all ambiance, no taste , but Wilbur s definitely breaks that patterns as it has both Baja Fish Taco was my favourite item - juicy and soft on the inside but delightfully crispy on the outside. Best tacos in town. The self-serve salsa bar is a great touch, allowing you to customize your tacos to your taste. The vibe is vibrant and welcoming. As for the tacos, they were delicious especially the chicken tinga, beef bulgogi, and fish options. Each one was flavorful and fresh. I ll definitely be coming back for more!

As a Mexican, I feel disappointed that this place doesn t outright explain that they re a FUSION restaurant. There s no Mexican drinks like Horchata, Agua de Jamaica or Jarritos. Being a fusion restaurant is fine. Just say so. The bulgogi taco was ok. Just the tortilla tasted old and dry.

Quesadilla was delicious, guac was good, and the selection of salsas was extensive and made the experience. One star removed because the staff did not know how to clean the tables. Even after asking, the girl gave it a quick wipe, missing the stuck-on bird droppings. I had to ask again and point them out to her so she would scrub them off. Was out on the town with my girlfriend and we stopped in to try this spot out. Its a nice and bright concept inside. Feels comfy. We ordered some chicken and beef tacos and I thought they were great (my girlfriend is Mexican and she thought otherwise lol). But overall the food was great to me and I would eat here again if Im in the area!

Absurdly good. Great people working there too. Cali burrito is the best burrito in the world. Must have ordered it 50 times. Only complaint is that it s ruined every other burrito for me. I ll never be the same again

Went back here recently and I m wondering if sold to different owners at some point. There was a period of time when I was a regular here. Food is still decent! But definitely not as good as it was before. I used to loved the baja fish tacos here and I m not sure if they changed the way they batter, but it s not the same as before. Burrito bowls shrunk a bit and used to come with complementary side of chips, but overall the taste is still good

The cashier was extremely condescending and rude while I was navigating the menu. I was ordering a burrito, which involves selecting various options, and each time, she used a condescending tone, repeated my choices back to me, and rolled her eyes. When it was time to pay, she pointed to my family and asked if it was all on one bill. I told her no but suggested she put it on the table number. She rolled her eyes again and said that was what she planned to do. To me, if the service is subpar, it doesnt matter how good the food is or how great the atmosphere may be. Overall, a disappointment.

WILBUR MEXICANA . . I might have found my favourite taco spot in Toronto @wilburmexicana From tacos to fajitas, this Mexican restaurant has it all, along with a fresh salsa and hot sauce counter. We decided to try them out after researching for a new spot to eat at in the area. There was a line almost the entire time we were dining in and I definitely see why. The food was delicious! It was better than the tacos I had in Mexico. The atmosphere is great and I like being able to taste various flavors of tacos. Especially fish tacos highly recommended

The restaurant is very frustrating especially the staff of the restaurant. They dont have calm behaviour. They become angry fast. I dont know the name of the man at counter. He becomes angry so much and he dont have any sense to speak to customer. Very bad experience

I ve been going here for years. Ever since they opened. It s a great spot! All the tacos are delicious. And they take service very seriously. They even made a special quesadilla for our 1 year old. This place will always be a favourite.

It was my first time at Wilbur s and it was outstanding. The tacos were so good I had another. Generous portions and excellent quality. Topping and sauce bar a bonus. Don t pass by this place you don t know what you re missing and friendly helpful staff.

Every time you order online from them the food is very late, very cold and not good quality. They dont offer a phone number so you cant get in touch and they never help their customers. Ill never order from here again and I used to be a loyal customer.

Great Mexican joint in the King West area. My favorite part of this restaurant has to be the self-serve salsa and hot sauce bar. They have such a large variety and you can mix and match your own. Tacos are pretty standard price for downtown. We got the carne asada, bulgogi, fish and mushroom tacos as well as guacamole and queso nachos. I appreciate that they have some vegetarian options for tacos. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The way you order is that you pay an order at the front, then get a number and sit to wait for your food to be served. Unfortunately its often very busy so there is a wait for seating unless you take your food to go. Overall, its pretty clean and spacious inside.

Superb Mexican restaurant. Food quality is top of the line but what makes this place stand out is the staff and massive selection of hot sauces to try. Their in-house ghost pepper sauce is off the rails delicious but may be too spicy for most. Well worth a try and they let you take tiny samples of their sauces home!! This place is phenomenal! We dont live in Toronto but visited in 2022 and 2024. Both times the food was incredible and the service was fantastic. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Probably the best Mexican food Ive ever had!!

I go here for lunch dates very often, and always experienced very friendly and warm service. The food is delicious and never disappoint. Also love the salsa bar! Once my boyfriend and I accidentally left our shopping bag at the restaurant and an employee with tattoos and beard ran out and gave it to us! The attentiveness and kindness has kept us going to Wilbur to this day :)

Portions use to be so much better. Especially for the costs! Unfortunately wont be returning anymore! Especially the Cali bowls. At least when you go to Chipotle you can add extras of rice/ beans and other toppings for free.

Clear menu, great organization and delicious Mexican food! Wilbur Mexicana on King St. West near Portland has vivid branding and good taco selections. During the pandemic, they have no dine-in but has a dedicated bar and organized system for Ritual and other delivery/pick-up apps. When you walk into Wilbur, youll see a big vivid yellow menu for their food and also handheld menus are available as well. For first-timers at Wilbur, there are menus at the door for you to take your time and read through. Service is fairly quick with a cashier to take your order (order under the yellow menu). Youll be given an order number and card indicator for staff to recognize to who to give the food. They also have a salsa bar that staff do not monitor for the 1 person/party at a time rule. The staff are very nice and all your take out orders are packaged in brown bags. Heavily recommend using Ritual as you can order ahead and skip the line. Food review based on Tacos: Usually for lunch, roughly 3 tacos should do if you dont want to overeat. They come as open-faced soft tacos and with a side of nachos. Depending on the taco you order, it could come with three different choices of tortillas (crispy corn, flour, or corn). Weve tried the Grilled Avocado taco, Baja Fish taco, and Bulgogi Taco. The Grilled Avocado taco came with a 1/4 slice of avocado with pineapple-habanero, chipotle crema and cotija cheese. It was a generous amount of avocado (just the right amount for the tortilla and was a delicious combination with the pineapple-habanero. The Baja Fish taco came with beer-battered mahi-mahi, jicama slaw, pico de gallo, chipotle crema. Great choice, fish was battered and cooked not overly crispy but just the right balance between all the other ingredients without going too moist! The Bulgogi taco had Korean beef, jicama slaw, pear and sesame seed. Given that weve had Bulgogi at authentic Korean restaurants, this fusion taco was the real deal Although the Korean beef was not the usual bulgogi cuts, it still had the ingredient combinations. The taco was very delicious and would recommend it! Theres still much more to try and we look forward to trying their other categories. Also, take advantage of their salsa bar that ranges between 0-5000 to 1,000,000 Scoville scale of spice! Theres a funny face symbol used to represent the spice level. Salsa bar has from mild to extra spicy: Pico de Gallo, Pineapple (Habenero), Green (Verde Crudo), Brown (Asada), Red (Suave), Orange (Habanero), and Ghost. There are limes at the very end of the salsa bar. They provide a ladle at each salsa offering and single-use small black containers for the salsa to go. Tip: roughly 2 limes fit into each container.

Great staff, good food, fancy location.

Used to love Wilburs pre-covid. Ate here frequently as its close to work. As with everywhere else during the pandemic, not only did they increase their prices but they also decreased their portions. Used get a full bag of Chips when ordering Chips and Guac, now youre lucky if it comes half full. Same with the side chips they give when ordering a meal - that little bag has like 5 chips in there. They also made the sauce cups smaller so that you dont take as much. I have since stopped buying as I dont find it worth the money anymore. If they had only increased the prices but not decreased portions I wouldnt have an issue. Dont double-whammy your customers though.

I havent been here enough to try a lot of different things but based off my experiences when i did visit wilbur i do have to give it a solid 4-4.2. Food is good, little bit pricy for tacos but its good. Love the sauce options they have and the salsa bar they have. Not much room to dine in especially when busy. Thry dont move slow so thats a plus. A good spot to try if you can catch it on a not so busy hour.

I lived in SoCal for over a decade, so I know from good Mexican food, and this is! Tasty, hot, perfectly spiced, full of flavours. The staff are great, and the owner takes personal care to make sure each guest is having their best experience. Overall, couldnt be happier. Well definitely be back.

Fish tacos rival some of the best I have had, seldom do I wish for another after the first bite. The guac is also really good for 9 bucks. Carne asada is what I got for my 2nd taco and was equally as delicious. Not to mention the hot sauce bar for those with a high scoville game. Well defo be back.

Great service from the servers. Fajitas could be a lot better. Had a lot of dryness to it without yhe juices and flavors. I do commend the plain flavors from the kitchen unlike heavy flavors you find from other places. Interesting salsa bar for self service.
