199 Bay St., Toronto, ON M5L 1L5, Canada
Fast-casual chain offering Mexican-inspired food, including design-your-own burritos, bowls, tacos & salads.
Most meh burrito I've ever had in my life for $18 after tax. A lot of rice and the pork carnitas were basically unseasoned.
The food is good, but the service is absolutely awful. I've been here a few times and the older lady gives me so much attitude, never speaks to me (and only me) and does not acknowledge my order. I'm not sure if it's racism or maybe something about me, but I felt very targeted. I will be looking for another Z Teca to go to next time...
At first when I tried this place it seemed to be amazing. Sadly the downturn was pretty fast. Ridiculous customer service. Portions are never consistent and unworthy for the price. Set to be open until 19:00 and they always close before 17:00 although their rituals app shows open and accepts orders.
The chicken quesadilla was a greasy mess and the sour cream that comes with it is so thinned out it's basically water. Not worth the price. Way too greasy, it's literally dripping and your hands are soaked.
This location barely gives you protein, you can see it in the workers. It's like they get measured on how much protein they give per order lol. This is the reason why you are seeing fewer people supporting these food courts. Warmer weather is ahead and i along with many others that are in the office will start to walk outside to support other restaurants.
Less protein portion more rice and very less veggies option other chains are better , does not deserve the cost they charge , lesser sauce options as well. Need to improve
Not only were the staff efficient, they were exceedingly kind and thoughtful! I mentioned having an allergy to a menu item beside the topping I wanted, and they went out of their way to get me a fresh topping with no chance of contamination 👌🏽 and the food was DELICIOUS! This was my first time trying z-teca and I absolutely will be back
Churros are not for everyone - to be cooked and served …. Basically, not everyone can have those skills to justify the taste and make of Churros … Based on the previous feedback below, and as requested by the shop owner, I have sent them the details on an email but does not really change much about my experience, and my review. -- Posted 5 months---- I visited this place for the very first time today. I had minimal lunch and was craving for some more food.. I felt like trying the churros for kind of dessert. It costed around $4 and surely was not worthy. They were over fried which made them over crunchy(a better word, if used). It was over coated with sugar as if they were charging for the sugar instead of the churros itself. The only option was caramel and no chocolate, say no preference around selection. They were too tiny and would never prefer it again..
Great place for a delicious lunch try the tortas.
Ridiculously small portions for the price. 20% of the bowl was empty.
The best breakfast deal in the PATH. $6 for a massive breakfast burrito with your choice of fixings.
great location and service
Great food and great service!!!!
Delicious! Love the barbacoa bowls here and being able to customize the toppings
Loved the food!! the only mexican place I like in Toronto for real mexican food everyone should try it
I LIKE IT
Recommend Chipotle instead. The portions are smaller here and nothing really special.
For a $15 bowl, you would expect it to have enough protein to satisfy you. It didn t. The taste was good though. Fresh ingredients and tasty flavours.
I had the steak breakfast burrito and Ive been sick since the morning. Litterally the sweetest service and food is yummy but not worth the stomach issues.
Kid-friendliness: Good menu choices
Amazing food!
They dont put any vegetables in their burritos, which I usually expect in these kinds of restaurants. But it was tasteful
One of the better restaurants in this food court. Burrito is good but pricey!!!
Food is good if you can get it. 3rd day in a row Ive attempted to get breakfast before 9am and they are out of ingredients. Food
Since I hadnt eaten all day, I decided to try a grilled chicken burrito on a whole wheat tortilla before catching the GO Train home yesterday. Best decision as it was fantastic. Tasty, perfectly heated and fresh off the press.
My go-to place for lunch when I am working downtown. The food I have ordered and service are great. I haven t tried many items on the menu but it s consistent in quality each time.
My burrito is 80% rice. Used to be much better.
Too much rice in the burrito and no veggies at all..
Nice food must try!!!
Favourite place for a burrito bowl during lunch (when I m at work). Tasty and fresh!
Portions are inconsistent visit to visit. Burrito Bowl and Burrito are both the same price based upon protein, yet you might get 1/2 as much in a bowl as you would a Tortilla. Wanted Cilantro on my bowl, instead of taking from the fresh/full container, the attendant took the empty one and turned it over to tap out the remaining dust onto my dish. Wanted to use a gift card, was told I had to Go Online, even though it is stated on the back This card is redeemable at our locations only. Not worth the $$$, as there are better options in the same food court that offer more value and more attentive staff.
Consider changing your dirty spatula and pan after every breakfast burrito for gods sake. I don t want your nasty pork remains on my food.
Fast customer service, clean, and friendly staff!
Gret food
Pretty good.
Fresh ingredients and staff who are super nice and quick.
Absolutely an amazing burito. I love the staff, the Filipino lady is just an amazing employee, everytime she greets you with a smile and is so full of energy, she deserves more pay( just saying) but this burito is just amazing! I wish they had more ztecas, I got the wifey hooked on these. Definitely wish I could have one as im typing this, Im going to legit dream about this burito the grilled chicken. Ahhh oh so good, you know what Im going to walk there tomorrow, covid or not YOLO. Do yourself a favor, come here, get the grilled chicken burito!
Great for breakfast
This is a great place for a meal on the go. Pretty busy at lunch so get there early. They have a great breakfast burrito selection as well from steak, sweet potato, etc.... Soup is also good as well.
The staff are always awesome here. Everyone needs to try the Vegan tortilla soup - so delicious! Love the option of not having to add cilantro or chips :) the burritos are also delicious.
Good quality of food
Friendly staff and amazing food. Good prices and delicious food, you cant beat it!
The flavors are great at this restaurant. Its refreshing and different. A little pricey though
Shrimp burrito bowl frm meal pal, fine taste, fair size
Ordered fish tacos which I had to repeat like 5 times to 3 different staff members. It was like they have it on the menu but no one ever orders it, cause it is was difficult. The tacos themselves were soggy and the meal was disappointing. Not going here again.
Z-Teca... more like Z-Dicka
Good stuff!
Bit pricey but good taste
Aside from the daily line... This is a great lunch option.
Great breakfast burritos
Had chicken quesadilla which was great. Nachos and cheese...I found the cheese sauce tastes like cheezwhiz. Very happy to see the Jarritos drinks. Staff was very nice a pleasant.
I really enjoy the fast mexican food here. Very popular at rush hours, I would recommend to come 5 minutes before noon to avoid the line. Portions are BIG.
Great food, can get a lunch for 10-15 bucks. Lines can get very long at lunchtime, so use ritual to order ahead. Takes about 10 mins from placing the order to have your stuff ready.
Awesome burrito bowls. Great for a quick meal.
Great place for fast fillup
I had the beef barbacoa bowl today. The serving was plentiful and had a bite of beef in evert forkful. The meat was tender, rice was flavorful. One of the better burrito bowls I have had. Would definitely return!
Good option for a vegetarian as well
Toronto has so many burrito chains it may be hard to tell the contenders from the pretenders. This place is one of the lower quality burrito places. Burritos are sloppily made. They arent pressed for nearly enough time, so when you eat them they tend to be messy and fall apart. If you are starving and really want Mexican food then I guess this isnt the worst thing in the world, its just that every other Mexican/burrito place in the area does it so much better.
Same as other Z-teca places, nothing special about this location
This location is fast to get through long line ups during the lunch rush and gives large portions interns of their burrito bowls and salads. Really good food
Though a bit on the pricey side, Z-Teca has great selection of burritos and burrito bowls/salads. When ordering burrito you can substance rice for more lettuce, which is great. Their breakfast burritos are gaining popularity. Egg and guacamole is my favorite. Breakfast burritos are hefty and will definitely keep you full till late lunch. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is normally line during lunch. It moves fairly quickly though.
