Not sure whats happened here over the last 6-12 months. At 7pm and onward, Ive been coming for platters and they are constantly out of various things like potatoes, rice etc. Also the portions have been inconsistent. Frustrating as this was my go-to.

I ve been coming here for a few year and I am always pleased with the quality and taste of the food, as well as the super kind and friendly staff. Always a pleasure!

Rice was plain just yellow colour. This place is not an authentic shawarma place. Food didn t taste satisfying. Do not waste your money here.

Fantastic owners and amazing food! I walked in last night with my friend to try Donaire, we shared one because we had already eaten supper but wanted to try their food! My friend LOVED the Donaire, but personally I have found it to have a minty taste that I wasnt a huge fan of. However, I can tell it was very fresh and great tasting. I will be definitely back for some other food to try! I loved the owners!!!

Great place to eat for a quick bite at a decent price and with very friendly service. The donair meat isnt as flavourful as Id like but they dont cheap out on the stuffing in the wrap. Not much seating available as it is a small shop.

Used to love Shish, but haven t had it in months. Not sure what I ordered last night, but it wasn t chicken shawarma. Both my partner and I ended up in the washroom shortly after dinner as well. Not a fun experience for such terrible food. The food was totally different than what we ve had in the past. Not sure what s happened, but we won t be eating here ever again.

Chicken is never fresh even during lunch time. Small portions. Meat/toppings are put on top of the pita instead of inside. Over 10$ for a medium. Nothing, but disappointment. Cant even call this mediocre.

The person making it gave us a falafel which wasn t fresh inside our wrap and to compensate gave us 3 other falafels individually. The person wasn t professional at the time of making or later on.

the staff is nice but the food is sickening

I ordered on Chicken leg with rice on Uber eats. All they sent me was chicken leg with salad and no rice. When I called them in store they told me they were out of rice which they didn t even bother to inform me. The chicken leg and potatoes both were cold.

Will be going back when the chicken shawarma changes back to the original. It was perfect before

Ordered a few of the family platters for an event. They had a bit of everything in them. Food was fantastic!

I ordered the donair. It contained ONE thin slice of donair meat. I could have drowned in the amount of sauce the lady working there put in.

Dingy place and this is not a shawarma spot, its a place pretending to be one. Beans in a shawarma? Meat cooked on a stove top instead of on the grill? Ive been eating shawarmas my entire life and this is by the worst Ive had. In an effort to meet every customer demand on the menu they are unable to satisfy anyone. Avoid at all cost, I wish I got robbed by a local Toronto druggy instead, at least then someone would have been satisfied.

Was hoping for a proper kebab / doner. It came out as dry and tasteless : plain onions and diced tomatoes on a layer of dried meat (what they called east coast , a mix of lamb and beef agglomerated together) on a basic industrial pita (the one from cedar bakery , you know the one Im talking about ). Cherry on the cake:, their homemade white sauce is very sweet. Like very very sweet. Not for me..might work for others

Really love this place and the young family that now runs the shop! Always enjoy my eggplant pita and falafel - a healthier alternative to fast food its fresh food. Been a customer for two to three years and a great pita sandwich everytime!!!

Food and service are the only things to consider here. Nice hole in the wall joint. Had the donair. Nothing but good things to say from what looks like a family business.

Stopped in for a Chicken shawarma, was amazing. Ton of meat, like what some other places probably consider double meat. Nice tasting hot sauce and veg and friendly service. Ill definitely come back. Thanks for a great lunch!

Ordered using doordash. They didnt care to accept or decline the order after an hour! When I called them they told something is broken! Atleast cancel the order if you cannot serve rather than making someone wait for an hour without any food Update - I am sorry to hear about your situation. However if you were in this situation, I am not sure why would you not make the restaurant unavailable on doordash?

$18 for a large East coast Donair sandwich and it was a small amount of meat, sauce, tomato, and heavy onion. It was lacklustre and left me dissatisfied and hungry.

I remembered this place while sitting at McDonalds. The food here way better than at McDonalds. Honestly the price-to-product comparison he is way better. The server is best.

Torontos best shawarma, and its not even close. Shish has become my number one shawarma spot in the city, because they do everything right. The meat is always juicy and tender, the veggies are fresh, and potatoes are perfectly cooked. And lets not forgot about the sauces, which by the way are fresh and made in house. The hot sauce is extremely spicy, and the garlic sauce is divine. I wish they didnt have green peppers in the platters though. And also, they have fantastic deals every day of the week. So PLEASE, try this place, you wont regret it!

Food is great but varies across the menu. Portion sizes also vary wildly depending on what you order. Better than your typical fast food shawarma place, but a tier below the best Ive had in the city. The falafel was (surprisingly) not super dry like most other places, would definitely recommend if you dont eat meat.

Ordered last night through Skip-the-dishes. They never got the order right. The donairs were almost the worst Ive had in 40 years. They are a disgrase to the donair. But the meat was acceptable. The was sauce too sweet and thin making the wrap soggy and fall apart as soon as you pick it up. The fries are cheap fake dollar store bag crisps. Big chunks of red onion instead of shreadded, and very little else. And what are those stuffed spicy(cheap horrible tasting spice) triangle things that I didnt order? These people would be fired after 5 minutes in a real donair shop

Being fascinated with middle eastern cuisine and variety of meat dishes, I get surprise with their donor. The meat was moist enough to blend with sauces and not to over exposes the textures. Must admit, Overall quantity suppress price. Tips for pickup/delivery: ask them to make small holes with toothpick / something in your ordered wrap so that your shawarma wrap wont be soggy/ damp. Well and warmed served by palas (employee)

We love Shish, but on our recent order, my food came with hot sauce. The menu had changed and I didnt realize. They replaced the plate for me without the hot sauce and it was as amazing as usual. Thank you for doing that Shish team, and thanks for the tasty meal as always!!!

Way way spicier than I expected for a shawarma. I m fairly used to spicy foods so it wasnt an issue for me but otherwise you should be aware. The overall taste is much above the average.

Today about 11:30 in the morning i went in the store. I used to eat shawrma at Lawrence street. When i asked a chicken platter there is a young guy who served me really well. He make a such a nice plate. He also very friendly. I will be visit the store again.

The store itself is very small, but the amount of food for the low price is insane. So much food and it was delicious!

Ordered here through Uber Eats. All I can say: waw. When I swore off meat I figured delivery is pretty much out but this place really hit the spot. After a delivery delay, my falafel wrap was not soggy but crisp; even the fries were! Im hooked

I was driving on queen st and was looking for food options. Shish caught my eye. I hadnt had shawarma in a while because most shawarma downtown isnt very good. I usually go to Scarborough to get shawarma. No more will I need to go that far to get some quality shawarma. Garlic potatoes were incredible. The sauces were all made fresh in house. And the ingredients were all quality fresh ingredients. Would recommend this to anyone

Hi I don t know if you are reading this but I was waiting in line outside social distancing because you had two customers inside already. I waited for a good 10 minutes. While waiting, 2 construction men came from behind me and just walked in the door. Rather than argue and be inside the cramped space with six other people including the workers, I left. I think you need clear signs and protocols as you just lost business. I would love to come back but you need some signs. And you can t let that many people in. Otherwise you will lose more business.

The cleanliness of the queen st spot is bad you all need to clean place smells bad a grease all over everything

I ordered from Uber for pick up on Friday. I was very surprised when I picked up my order to see the staff was not wearing masks.

This should be a 5 star review, this is hands down my favorite takeout in east york.. But when I grabbed lunch here today none of the three staff I saw was wearing a mask (and only one glove was warn by one person which I watched handle money with said glove). I am very worried about infecting my at risk relatives and cant risk eating here if things continue to be this way. Shish managment please try to address this as you guys run a great restaurant and this is a crazy time but we all need to adapt. I will happily change my review if that happens.

Good shawarmas. There is parking is at the rear of the building! They have daily specials, Mondays 2 chicken shawarmas for $10, and Wednesdays 2 Beef shawarmas for $10 are my favourite days; those prices are tough to beat anywhere.

You get what you pay for. It is affordable, the food is not bad. The place wasnt clean enough, the taste of food wasn t good enough, but it is mediocre. I might give another chance, I do not recommend eat in because the places was very dusty; even inside of the straw.

Chewy, fatty, low quality beef. Silly styrofoam take-out containers and they pack one corner full of garlic sauce, so anything that falls in there is drowned beyond repair. Their roasted potato soup is literally roasted potatoes sitting in oil and drowned again in garlic sauce. Not sure what I m missing here from the good reviews, but I certainly wouldn t go again.

Made an order through Foodora and was waiting for the restaurant to accept the order. Waited 20 minutes and the order was stil not put through so I called the restaurant to confirm if my order was received. The staff who answered the phone said there was no order at all and there is nothing he can do to help but after hanging up on the phone, my order was suddenly put through. I called back to confirm again and he now confirms that he received it. It isn t good knowing that my order wouldn t have been put through if I didn t call. Horrible customer service.

My chicken shawarma was very good, and made exactly the way I wanted it, with lots of the browned bits of chicken roasted on the skewer, lettuce, red onions, lots of garlic sauce, tahini, and hot sauce. Mmmmmm!

Ordered through Foodora, food was fresh, portions very large, tons of variety of items in the plate, two salads, hummus, garlic sauce, potatoes, rice plus the meat, truly worth the value. Prices are reasonable and the food was really delicious. Paid attention to special requests and everything arrived as expected. Definitely will have again, thank you!

My food was gross. The beef swarma was fatty, full of gristle, oddly seasoned and the pita was burned. The two chicken swarmas I bought for friends went mostly uneatened so I assume they were equally nasty. Fries had obviuosly been cooked in grease that wasnt changed in a long time. $28 spent for food that was given to racoons--hardly a cheap food option. Place was absolutely FILTHY

While the chicken shawarma wrap was delicious, the service was subpar and the lady who served me was extremely rude. Two friends and I went here for lunch, but because they had their dog, the one friend stayed outside. My other friend came in and ordered two plates for them. During this time, I never said a word to the worker and my friend completed both of her orders. The worker then skipped me and started taking another mans order and when i interjected stating i hadnt been served yet, she quite literally rolled her eyes at me, sighed, and walked into the back. Yes, my friend ordered two plates, but I never interacted with you so why would you think one was mine? I would have taken my service elsewhere but I was starving. I wont be back.

Probably the worst shawarma I have ever had... Was super greasy. I have never ever had a greasy shawarma before.. Got beef.. The whole flavor profile was off, probably from all the grease! Doubt I will be back.. Unless my friends chicken shawarma is good. Dont do the beef! Also, the falafel taste doughy like the put flour as a filler

Went there with my wife. Never been before. From outside looks really fancy. Fantastic decor. Out if the box. Ordered family pack number two. Service was fast, good price They put salad and main food in different box. The food was nice and fresh. We ate with our family. Too much food at least 8 people can eat. Yammy beef and chicken kebab. Nice and fresh salad. Chicken was little dry. Overall great experience and definitely will visit again.

The worst Shawarma in GTA. The chicken was not cooked properly and the hygiene was not maintained. The meat didn t taste as nice as it should be. On top of that, the girl working there didn t put sufficient toppings in my Shawarma, when I asked for onions, she literally just put 2 mini slice of it, same with tomatoes. Would never ever recommend anyone to go there.
