Contemporary takes on French bistro fare served in a sleek room with concrete walls & brass accents.
Great restaurant and bar at convention location. Very nice French style cuisine, the menu only features around a total of 25 dishes all included but what a selection. Everything we had was cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and great flavour. The wine selection added to the great experience. Not to forget the fact that the very nice guy behind the bar has competed in and won several drink competitions around the world. The combinations of ingredients in his cocktails made my head spin in more ways than one. There is a parking garage located beneath the restaurant ensuring easy access. If you enjoy high quality food and drinks served by knowledgeable and attentive staff this is the place to go.
Very classic, beautifully prepared French cuisine. Menu seems to change but we had the eggs Pepin, which were salty tangy egg bombs of flavour. The other apps (pâté de campagne & marinated albacore) were well prepared but the mains were definitely the most enjoyable. I can't remember the last time I had such a perfect duck confit - it was so tantalizing I dove right in & forgot to take photos. It was served on the a bed of butterbeans, (which I think is poised for a comeback) that was rich and creamy. Husband had the lamb shank that he ate nearly without pause and we couldn't figure out how the delicious eggplant was prepared because we'd have ordered an entire dish of just that as well. Our friend had the Alsacien pork (done 3 ways) ... whose sausage was unbelievably smoky, juicy, spiced perfectly, and rustic texture was the star of the dish. Leeks gratin was fabulous as was the frites. We should have stopped but I love French desserts and loved all of them for different reasons. Banana cake was light but flavourful and definitely for banana lovers. The Paris-Brest was possibly the best choux pastry I've had in a while as it was perfectly crisp against the creamy filling. I really loved the cucumber gratinée with white chocolate but my husband & friend not so much. Food was overall very rich and good examples of what French food should be - seemingly simple but rewards your tastebuds with a depth of flavour. Interior was charming and bistro style. The wine delicious and service could only be improved if they noted who ordered the bottle of wine and served the tasting to the person who ordered it instead of randomly choosing who they thought should taste it.
Bacchanal is sexy, well of course it is, it’s French after all. The space is wide open and airy but so comfortable at the same time. Tables are beautifully spaced which means conversations stay at your table. Don’t feel like a table hang at the cool bar with great cocktails. Wines are neat and the list well curated. Mains are glorious but it’s such fun to make dinner out of delicious appetizers and sides. Do not miss dessert so save room. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel
Went here on my anniversary. The atmosphere is nice and the food was absolutely amazing. It was definitely worth the price. Hor d'oeuvres were yummy and I would recommend trying a few. Oysters were fresh, my steak frites were cooked nicely, and as others have said, you do not want to skip dessert. The Paris-Brest was one of the best desserts I have ever had!
I was really looking forward to this dinner. Food exceeded my expectations. Everything was absolutely delicious. The 🐌 escargot agnolotti starter was a standout. As was the duck with cherries. Cocktails and desserts were the “cherries on top!”. Paris-Brest was oh so good. I’m giving 4 stars though because TBH for this kind of restaurant the service was lacking - may have been an off night. Anyways, definitely recommend 👍
Great place for brunch, dessert, or just a cup of coffee! Went there for brunch and had really good experience. Staffs were very approachable and really liked interior. I was able to tell they tried to used fresh ingredients and bring out the well-being concept well to the table. It was healthy and delicious taste at the same time. I have to say their pastries were amazing. Had this pastry looked like a brioche that tasted like croissant with sugar coated which I really enjoyed with my coffee. I love pastries but sorry my description is not as accurate as my tongue haha (just trust me on this and try them! You will love it) And make sure to try their all time popular dessert! This bagel look-a-like pastry has hazelnut, chocolate mixed cream which was pleasant and almost tempted me to try more even though I was full! Again, it’s really nice restaurant but felt like I would go there to eat dessert again haha (I try to go for healthy lifestyle but can’t ignore all those delicious pastries garrrr). It’s a bit from metro but Uber is there luckily so wasn’t a big problem for us to get there 👍👍
4/5 Fantastic service Great vibes Ok food. We had brunch here on a Saturday. The host graciously gave us the corner booth which was probably the best table in the restaurant! Great start. Throughout our meal we were well cared for, never having to fill our water glasses or having to call them for something. Fantastic service. The atmosphere is very nice, trendy and chic. The food was a little bit of a disappointment. The croque was really nice which was there signature dish! But the swordfish & octopus skewers were overcooked, making the fish tough in texture. Plus the fact that one of our order was forgotten but included in the bill showed that there's room for improvement in the kitchen. Otherwise, a fantastic experience. I will return for a second time.
The restaurant is actually quite lovely, the ambiance was great for a date spot. The presentation of every dish was very lovely despite the lack of flavour in the dishes. I really wanted a burst of something special, I found it to be boring and bland. The only thing worth mentioning on the menu is the Paris-Brest. (If you are a dessert person, I would recommend coming here strictly for this) Overall - great for foodie pictures, not great for an actual foodie.
Great space for groups. Good savoury dishes. Strong pastries and desserts.
I liked it but I also thought it could be better
Just a beautiful dining experience at Bacchanal. My niece and I decided on the Carte Blanche and we were so happy we did. Chef Luke Donatos cuisine was phenomenal in both taste and looks and the progression and pacing of our meal was on point. And while the food was delicious, what truly made the evening are the FOH and wait staff. Thank you to our main server, Rachel and the couple of others that helped out when she was busy attending another table. They were quite knowledgeable about the menu--which you would think all restaurants would teach their staff but NOPE!--pleasant and courteous and were seemingly always around when we needed them yet not so intrusive to be overbearing. All in all it was a perfect meal for our annual Aunt and niece dinner. Thank you so much!
I did a bridesmaids proposal here at brunch and the food was sooo good! Unique brunch options and everything tasted amazing. I brought in cupcakes from outside and they did not charge me an additional fee, nor did they make a fuss about it. Also they actually take reservations for brunch, which is very rare!
The food was simply great. We did the tasting menu and the food got better and better with each course. Just when you thought it was amazing, the next plate outdid it. The cocktails were stupendous as well. It seems you pretty much cant go wrong with anything on the menu! Give it a go! Youll be pleased with the results, no doubt!
Nice place
Four of us went on Saturday. Ordered the carte blanche with wine pairing. Everything was impeccable, service, food and wine. The pairings were perfect for each dish. I have a shellfish allergy, and the tasting menu was really accommodating. Will definitely go back again!
Traditional French cuisine with a twist!
One of the best dinners Ive had in the city - if not the best. I had the veal, agnolotti, steak and duck. Every dish was done impeccably. My friends took me for my birthday and requested the signature dessert, however due to my allergies I could not eat it. To fix the situation our server went and got additional desserts for myself and my gluten free friend. Five stars. Cant say enough about how much I enjoyed this meal.
Great ambiance for a date night. Pretty good wine list as well. Although the beef tartare and spinach/cheese starters were great, the mains fell short. At a bare minimum, I was expecting at least the same quality as the Keg. Opted for the duck (well cooked but nothing extraordinary) and steak frites (very over-salted).
Ask for the carte blanche. Chefs will cook for you, well worth your money, one of the best meals Ive ever had.
We went on valentine s day. The food was lovely but they were clearly trying to push customers through as quickly as possible. Four courses with wine were completed in an hour. A disappointing experience for the high price paid.
The menu isnt very impressing and some of the service staff is very pretentious. The flavors (like balsamico on chocolate cake or some absenthe cocktails) dont really go well together. My favorite item on the menu is the hazelnut pastry. The decor is nice!
Awesome meal and service !
Drove an hour in a storm to learn their website was not updated when they removed raclette from their offerings a week ago. So for a full week there were people wanting to get raclette and get refused because they couldnt be bothered to update the site. The other food we ordered was good, I have to give credit to the chefs. The waitstaff did their best and were very apologetic. That said they lacked creativity or intuitive to come up with some comparable offering. For raclette Ill go back to Coq of the Walk instead. Edit: it looks like site got updated, I recognize they made an effort and as such I am upgrading 2 stars to four.
Great seafood, oysters, wine list. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Outstanding hospitality and amazing service. Would 100% recommend.
The snails agnolotti is sensational!
Just okay
Food is excellent, service is precise, wine is impeccable ! I definitely will be coming back and YES I recommend this restaurant !!
Super delicious. Simple, well seasoned and elegant - a hidden gem.
Very good experience. Food was delicious and service was perfect
I enjoyed this dining experience. They have a great wine list to go with your meal. We had the sunchoke and pear salad. It was a nice refreshing dish. The foie gras with the candied orange was one of my favorites here. Had the halibut, a nice light dish and the salmon was perfectly cooked.
It was good, although the food was a little too heavy on the fries and lacked non-greasy options.
Super delicious, beautiful, unique and absolutely wonderful service!
Nicely decorated. Great food and lovely staff. Well portioned and priced. They have a spacious private area right by the kitchen where you can sneak in chef s secret touches !!
Great food, did the carte blanch, lots of delicious items, worth it
It is hard to give four to this gem. Food was absolutely awesome deserve 5/5. The service was more like 2 . When we came in the server who greeted us was on his phone texting. When he took our order his phone was beeping all the time! He carefully slipped his hand in his pocket to make it silent. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Ownership please take action before this place getting more bad reviews.
Always good. Repeat offender....
Im really surprised with all the people raving about the food. Id have to agree with the reviewer who said the food was boring and bland, especially for the price. At that price point there are far better options in toronto. We were a party of 8 so we had an opportunity to try quite a few things from the menu. Nothing impressive at all. Based on the reviews I was excited to try it, but it was a real let down. That being said, aside from the food, service was good, the wines were good and decor is nice. But likely will not go back.
Good food service decor 9.5. Missing a slight amount of being personal otherwise faultless at the price point
Brought a group of colleagues and visiting physicians to Bacchanal for a get-to-know-you supper. We had the menu option which was served family style. The seafood tower was delicious - oysters were very fresh and prawns cooked just right. Marinated duck breast, ravioli. It was all tasty and the service was excellent. Recommended. Its also a pleasant spot for a dinner for two - good for date night.
Unbelievable quality, easily one of the best French restaurants in the city.
Very nice place, excellent service and good food I love that place recommend
Delicious French food - dont forget to leave room for dessert!
Most excellent food & service, at reasonable prices for what you get. 10/10 would go again
Beautiful spot, funny location. Great for a group
This dessert tastes amazing, it reminds me of a big delicious Ferrero rocher
Went here for summerlicious. The place is nice and the staff were friendly. The desert was a little underwhelming, I had the coconut mousse, it was very tough textured. However, the Sea Bream was absolutely delicious, as was the Foie Grois!
One of the best food experiences Ive had. Just visited for a second time, although only for cocktails. Both times we sat at the bar and its a great ambiance. We went for dinner the first time and everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The customer service was great and I am already planning a third visit there!
Enjoyed our meal here. The space is lovely and the service is impeccable. Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish but it didn t resonate with me, was trout with fresh potatoes and veggies but was smothered in a green sauce that was really heavy felt like a shame with such a delicate fish that can stand on its own. My fellow diners loved their steak frites and pork. Would for sure go back to try something else.
So surprised, came here for Summerlicious and was blown away by the friendly staff, the decor and the food was DELICIOUS. Far exceeded our expectations.
first time here and believe me NOT the last ... great food and most of all great service best of the best
Approachable and authentic French cuisine that is not trying to fuse itself with anyone else s cuisine.
Wow! Amazing summerliscious menu! Save room for the Paris dessert!!
Great food and awesome service! Really enjoyed our dinner. Will be back for sure.
Perfect way to start the Christmas weekend with friends! Opened with an amazing cocktail called muse and finished with a wonderful desert. Steak frites were the best Ive ever had and the staff was fantastic. Happy holidays!
Fantastic French food, excellent service and really outstanding deserts and cocktails. This place is a home run!
This is by far the best French restaurant in #Toronto. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. Because we were early we were given a fantastic glass of dry sparkling wine. Located a block from the hip Ossington area this French cuisine will have you wanting to lick your plate.
Service was slow, drinks were good, appetizers were good, waitress was kinda rude, main was uncooked meat. Wasn t a 4.7 when we visited.
Maxing food, I had the duck and it was perfection. The decore is notable too especially in the bathrooms ;)
I really wanted to like this restaurant. However, service was extremely slow. An hour after ordering we just had our apps served. The food tasted really good but my friend got really sick from the apps (probably the oysters). She was in the washroom for a while and I had to take her straight home. We couldn t even finish our mains or the bottle of wine we had ordered. We asked for club soda for her stomach and instead of telling us they didn t have it the server came back with Perrier. The manager was called and he took off the oysters from the bill but didn t offer anything else we still had to pay for our meal which we had to take home in a take out bag. The total bill came to over $200 for two ppl after tax and tip. At this price point horrible service and food poisoning was just shocking. It s a shame because the food actually tasted good. The agnolotti was probably one of the best dishes I tasted in the past year. Disappointed and very dissatisfied with this experience.
The atmosphere was nice, but the food was too salty. It felt like I was chewing on a lump of salt, as if I had accidentally poured salt on it. The pork shoulder in particular made me feel sick. Fortunately, the dessert was delicious so I didn t say anything. Dessert is recommended
Amazing food. The scallops and the cote de boeuf were particularly good. The wine list is extensive and well curated. The desserts were incredible.
Food was delicious, service was great and the drinks were spot on!!!
Super nice service, excellent food, great atmosphere. We started with the gnocchi and the snails. Then youll see was better but both were excellent. Can I have the steak frites and the braised lamb. The steak frite was better. Definitely worth checking out.
A great dining experience!
Very personal service--fabulous steak nfrites done to prrfection--thank you
Beautiful space, wonderful service and deserts that are to die for. And the place is not as fancy as you think it might be! New hidden gem in To.
I didnt eat here. But there drinks are amazing and the bar manager Jason is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. While it looks like a very posh upsale spot, the service is super down to earth and friendly. Will definitely be trying their lunch menu!
First time here and it didnt disappoint. Tasting menu brilliant!
Was delicious and service was excellent. We had some special off the menu dishes that were delicious and original for our corporate dinner. Thank you Chef Luke and staff for creating a tasty and pleasant evening! Ill be back
Excellent food, fantastic staff, and great environment. Our party sampled the entire menu and was never made to feel like we were being rushed in the three hours of our dinner. Complimentary drinks and sides arrived throughout the night and the staff were incredibly on point and delightful. Have been recommending this spot ever since.
Awesome place
Good
I had 5 courses of luxury. From the Seafood tower which had over 5 different elements to the Agnolotti with escargot and hen of the woods mushrooms to the 60-day-aged, 40oz Côte de Boeuf. Mind Blown. I was in Heaven. LOVE THIS PLACE. The desserts are second to none.
Had a awesome lunch here a couple Sundays ago. We had some delicious Rosemary Peach Bellinis to begin and the Shakshouka and the Swordfish w/ Octopus were splendid. Great wine list too! The staff took great care of us too. The whole package. A must visit!
Ambiance, decor and staff were quite lovely. Space felt open with the large windows but the decor and furniture still gave a cozy intimate feel to it. GREAT DATE SPOT!!! Staff checked in on us often without being over bearing. Thoroughly enjoyed the scallops, steak frities and lamb saddle. Between my friend and I we could have done away with the three hors doeuvres beforehand as we were stuffed by the time we got to dessert. If on the menu have the rhuebard sorbet as it was light fresh and lovely with the added texture of the nuts and sponge cake at the bottom! Great dining experience however total bill is slightly overpriced.
I went to this restaurant as a walk in and I was truly impressed from the moment I was greeted till I left the door. Our server was well knowledgeable and helped us navigate through their menu. The food was delicious and one of the best I have had in the city. Prices were great as well, not the lowest however nothing that will break the bank. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially for a great date night.
Delicious food and gorgeous decor. Excellent customer service from all staff members and chef Luke is such a pleasant person who is passionate about not only the food but the overall experience. Priced reasonbly, Ive been there 3 times in 1 week... definitely my local spot for a quick drink, snack to full out fine dining!
Amazing. Everything was wonderful. The escargot stood out as inspired.
Food was really tasty. Proud of service and follow up.
Great service. Wasnt sure what a few things were on the menu but our server was really happy and glad we asked as we would have definitely missed out on some delicious treats!!
The staff was very nice and quick to serve. The food was amazing and the pastries are the best Ive had in a long time. Also love the way they made the bathroom area inclusive, yet still private for all.
WHAT TO TRY?!? The mains at the restaurant are good. We tried the duck and the halibut and both were really delicious. Each came on a plate with a different pattern and plated very nicely. Both were very delicious and juicy. The hor d uvres were also very good. Each plate is about $7 and you can get three for $17 and 5 for more than $20 so you can try out the different hor d uvres they have to offer. The Paris-Brest for dessert is the popular item here. It s like a zeppole with cream inside a ringed pastry! Very good. My recommendation is if you want to try a bit of each, for two people, one hor d uvres dish is enough, one dish from pour commencer and a main each. We ordered three hor d uvres and then an additional dish from pour commencer section on top of the mains...but we had to cancel the dish from pour commencer because we were getting full already from the hor d uvres. The restaurant is pretty inside. Great use of blues, gold and ivory through the restaurant. The kitchen is an open kitchen and is at the bar area. It s quite a cute restaurant for a brunch with friends or a place for a celebration. LAST TIP?! This restaurant is located at the corner of Sudbury st on the bottom floor of a new condo. There is an option for sample menu for a price of $150 with wine pairings or $85 without wine pairings. This allows you to get to sample a bit of everything on their menu if you re up for a prix fixe menu.
Great dining experience, love the food & atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff and super accomodating. Best dessert in the city!
We had the carte blanche which includes a wine pairing. We enjoyed all of the different courses but we did provide a bit of feedback of our preferences. The decore was beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed. Eric was our server and made us feel comfortable and at home.
Get the Paris Brest!
Great food, cocktails, service and atmosphere! The carte blanche menu was fantastic - highly recommend letting the chef choose for you. Service was attentive but also relaxed and accommodating. Our only challenge was that it gets quite loud in the restaurant and by the end of the evening we were almost shouting over the din.
Having been to a lot of great French restaurants in Toronto (Alo, Aloette, Auberge, Biffs, Gare de Lest, La Banane, George, Coquine, Cluny, Le Baratin), I would consider Bacchanal to be an excellent place to get your French cravings fulfilled! Each French restaurant has their focus and different strengths but I specifically found Bacchanals food to be very approachable yet still be refined. Service - great staff! attention to detail and great with recommendations. (We came here once for dinner with our toddler... it was challenging but the staff were accommodating :) Food - this will be quite detailed - bear with me. The seafood tower - For a restaurant that doesnt specifically advertise as a seafood specialty, they do a very nice job. You might expect a seafood tower to have shrimp, crab legs, etc. just quickly blanched and served with some basic toppings, but the chef specifically tries to accentuate and accompany the proteins with complimenting ingredients (lime/acid/pepitas/avocado). The price is a bit more expensive than The Chase seafood tower ($60-150, but cheaper than La Banane $105-$300) but I found each component to be done well. Lunch mains: The Meurguez (lamb) Grilled and Shakshouka (baked eggs) - great dishes with good balance of seasoning - definitely something you might not find in a French Bistro style restaurant; for dinner they will have a bit more typical French dishes (Steak Frites, roast chicken) but I appreciated how they thought outside the box - to prepare dishes with refinement and French technique but also be a bit different Desserts in general - BUT THE PARIS BREST. O.M.G. This is the first time trying this dessert (Id like to compare to Roselle sometime though...) but Im glad I did! The choux pastry was made well and the hazelnut cream/custard was a good consistency/density - any lighter would lose its decadence - any heavier, would be too indulgent. Weve also tried the Rum Baba (pineapple based dessert) and the Boule niege (snow ball) for dinner - which was also very tasty with an Asian flare. All in all, I wish I lived in Liberty Village! Its a great neighbourhood restaurant!
Had high hopes but walked away disappointed. Many of the items were indeed fantastic and the service was generally very good (and would otherwise warrant 5 stars). However, the customer service we experienced when something did not arrive as expected fell well short of expectations. My group ordered the large steak for sharing, which takes over an hour to prep, and were disappointed when it arrived overcooked. Bringing it to the attention of our server, we were informed chef says it was cooked correctly despite not actually sending it to the kitchen, or having the gm come to our table. While we were ultimately compensated with a striploin, it was a sour customer service experience given the expensive cut of meat and the volume of wine we ordered that evening, particularly for such an upscale place. Will not likely return or recommend; there are just too many outstanding places in this city.
Great desserts, diligent service and great food. The atmosphere is chic and beautifully designed.
Such a beautiful job done on the decor. The food is stunning and delicious. Very impressed and will be back.
The decor is gorgeous, blue and gold throughout, spacious, huge windows letting in plenty of light; unusual gold coloured cutlery to continue the theme. We went on Saturday night and so it was quite full, therefore the noise level was high. The wine list is traditional, a tad expensive, but plenty of choice. We had a very pleasant Cava which was reasonably priced at $55 and a very good Burgundy $120. They do not have the facility of corkage. We started with the pâté, which was rich and deep and plenty to share between two. The Agnolotti were excellent, stuffed with hen beak mushrooms and a green sauce, accompanied by snails. The sea trout was perfectly cooked with crisp skin, and we had an usual dish of cooked lettuce with it. The steak was standard and fine but the frites were a bit limp. Overall this restaurant gives at the moment is in fine form.
New fav
Great food and service.
Great service and dishes.
Beautiful space with assortment of tables and cozy booths. Services was prompt and friendly. Steak tartar was nice and well seasoned as was the agnolotti. Wasnt crazy about the tuna (cant remember which it was) but the pastis was a little overwhelming. Pastries are amazing here so be sure to save space.
The food was beyond amazing, we all left really happy. Had great cocktails to start, the Aviation was my favourite, then a fresh seafood cru and scallop and cauliflower. For main we had the duck with cherries, pork belly, a cold pea soup (So good!), and a couple of sides. Everything was gorgeously presented, and the taste was to match.
Lovely French restaurant in Lower West Queen West. Food was prepared deliciously, however some menu options are worth the cost, while others didnt seem so. Beautiful Decor was very interesting Toronto themed wallpaper. Service was very friendly, and drinks were always topped.
Delicious !!! I am french and yes this is very good french food loved it ! Obviously on pricey side but worth it for a special occasion
Great interior and good staff. Had the steak fries and my my partner had the ocean trout. Small trout portion but steak was cooked perfect.
Amazing food and drinks. The desserts are incredible, make sure youre leaving room. I ate the Fjord Trout and it was perfection, amazing crispy skin and super moist. My husband had the steak and chips, and the flavour of the beef was fantastic. Definitely going to go back and want to do the Carte Blanche.
Great new years party! The food was amazing.
Great service, great food, good room, just a little loud when its busy. Staff are fantastic and weve had a great dining experience every time. Check out their brunch, its lovely!
Excellent food
Amazing place to eat. Seafood tower was one of my favourites and the escargot
Impeccable! Dinner with some out of town family who are very discerning. We each had three full courses with our server s choice of paired wines and cleaned our plates. Couldn t have hoped for a better experience.
Good food and service. Loved the seafood tower that came with our Carte Blanche (Prix fixe) menu.
French foodie. Everything was perfect and amazing!every dish was a delight .definitely would visit again. Amazing amazing amazing!
Well that was delicious!
Modern decor with attentive service and delicious food
Generally very good food, but appetizers and desserts on the expensive side for what they were. Also very few accessible wines for anyone on a budget. Now we know.
Been here for brunch and dinner and absolutely loved it! The food is sooo good. The shashuka with chickpeas and the canele pasty were lovely for brunch. The agnolotti with escargot and pork with peaches were my fave for dinner. But really everything was good. Great wine and cocktails. Beautiful decor. A must try (worth the distance if you re not in the west end)!
Phenomenal! Great oysters, great foie gras. Be brave and do the cote de boeuf.
Very good and cocktails are excellent, enjoyable food and atmosphere.
Certainly worth all of the praise they have received since opening. Service was very attentive, but was there on a very quiet night. That said, I m sure the same would be true on a busy night. Of course, the Paris-Brest dessert is worth every penny - just get one, even if you don t want to. Seafood is prepared well and an appropriate portion. Cassoulet is rich and smoky, and I wiped the bowl clean with the perfectly light and crisp baguette. Wine list is good, if not a bit light for a French restaurant. Cocktails are well-balanced but go for the absinthe.
Good food, wonderful service.
Truly amazing French dinner experience. Was with a group in a very cool room. We had the Carte Blanche and there were items I would not normally order on my own but all were excellent. For example, I rarely have Steak at a restaurant as I feel its an item I can do myself at home equally well. I was blown away, however by the cote de beouf. Same for other items like shrimp cocktail. The Hokkaido scallop and agnolotti were particularly noteworthy. Service was wonderful!
Nice atmosphere, nice staff. Food was so so. The hors doeuvres and steak frites were underwhelming. The steak was tough and not flavourful enough. The best part of the meal was the bread, which was good (crispy exterior and warm soft interior).
Food was delicious and the service was great. A really enjoyable experience.
Good food and services in a very relaxing environment. Highly recommended
Had the salmon on Friday. Got food poisoning and suffered the next 48 hours including 6 hours at Mount Sinai to confirm the issue. The place needs to clean up. I had a weekend from hell. Not good.
One word...AMAZING! One of my favourite meals. You cannot go wrong with this place. Just be ready to spend the $
Took a friend out to celebrate his birthday dinner. Had a great meal (fish tower, cote des beouf, and doughnut). Looking forward to dining here again.
All the reviews you see are 5-star...for good reason. This place cannot be faulted, from Chandlers pleasant telephone manner to Alex and Jason behind the bar to Lachlan chatting to me about Australia. And the good part, no, the best part, is the outstanding food. Wow! And the ambience...superb. We all loved the vibe, everything else too. Run to Bacchanal, dont walk, if youre a foodie youve already done that. If youre not, you soon will be. Theyll make sure of it. See you soon guys!
Everything from the food , cocktails to the wallpaper and phenomenal customer service makes this one of Toronto s greatest go to restaurants for all occasions... I highly recommend not eating prior to coming to Bacchanal cause you will want to try everything....
Insanely delicious. You won t regret it.
A truly amazing restaurant! I highly recommend! Original, delicious food and a one of a kind experience from the staff through to the unique environment, with its open kitchen, very cool bar and in-house pastry chef.
Delicious food. Dim lighting. Lovely wines.
French bistro with contemporary design. Loud (in a good way) on a Friday evening - but service was good despite the busy-ness. If you arent familiar with traditional French food the menu may be difficult to read, but your server should have your back. The food is classic and delicious. Portions are decent, but not large. I had the duck, and it was fantastic. But the absolute best part of the entire meal was the Paris-Brest. The pastry chef is queen here. Its the closest youll get to a Paris-Brest from Paris in Toronto.
Bacchanal brings a proper bistro to Toronto. Chef Luke Donato and crew deliver an outstanding approachable French menu that left our table amazed. Cocktails where well balanced and offered a solid selection that included originals and variations of the classics. Visit soon and check out the wallpaper.
Good service and food. Really noisy when its full house!
Amazing job by Bacchanal. Will definitely be back.
