Our last reservations are at 9:00 (9:30 on Saturdays), last orders go into the kitchen by 9:30 (10:00 on Saturdays) and everyone is welcome to relax and enjoy their dinner. There is no set time when we close, we are here until everyone is finished their dinner. Scaramouche has long been celebrated by customers and critics for its unwavering commitment to making each dining experience a memorable one.
The service, the wine and the meal were exquisite. Everything from the hummus and bread to the roasted duck and the foie gras, cooked to perfection and a symphony to our palettes. Our entire party was delighted with every dish!
Visited for a birthday with a group of 4, and the experience was underwhelming. At ~$50 a dish, the food was mediocre. The tuna tartare was good, but the cauliflower was just deep-fried with no flavor. Mains like the scallops and duck were fine but not worth the high price. Service was slow, with a 30-minute wait after apps. There was also no complimentary birthday dessert, and we were charged $15 for a slice of their famous coconut pie, which was disappointing. Overall, not worth the cost or the hype.
I went here for my birthday dinner on a Wednesday night. It was empty at 6pm but when the night went on all the tables were filled up. The service was spectacular but where we were seated, we didn’t have a view. We were seated next to the bar and there was a wall blocking us from seeing the view. The scallops were scrumptious, the sweetest and freshest scallops I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it!
So wanted our experience to be 5 stars as it was our wedding anniversary... felt that the service and food were very good but not exceptional...waiter never introduced himself so we had to ask his name half way through our meal ...coconut cream pie was good but given the rave reviews expected better... tuna app was fantastic as was the peppercorn beef tenderloin pasta... duck was perfectly cooked too... would consider going back but at price point there are many other restaurants we might choose to try instead. But again enjoyed our meal
First time here and was disappointed with the service. Waiter did not top up our wine glasses...had to do it a majority of the time. Water was not refilled often enough. Waiter didn't advise us to order more of the same appetizers as we had a large group sharing. Wasn't very helpful with the menu. The sofa bench was uncomfortable..the middle section dipped in. I guess the cushioning needs to be replaced. Overall food was quite good. Ordered the lamb chop and it was very tender and not very gamey. Had a bite of the lobster and was delicious. Overall disappointed with my experience.
Went for my anniversary is it was such a great experience. The food was excellent, the vibe and ambience was just right with a nice Toronto skyline view and lighting, and the service was on point (not too much and right on point and timely). The food was absolutely delightful and Instagram worthy. Must really comment on the lamb and coconut pie. Highlights of the night. The lamb is a must try and the best I’ve ever had. Same for the coconut pie, especially as I am not a pie nor coconut lover. (Got the pie for takeout)
Scaramouche has consistently delivered a great dining experience for us. The food and service are spot on. Canadian inspired dishes are perfectly prepared, beautifully plated and reasonably priced. Their coconut cream pie is one of the best in the city. My only feedback would be that their cocktails are basic but good - just not the creative type you’d find at some other restaurants. If booking a reservation, ask to sit near the window to take in the lovely view of the city.
I recently dined at Scaramouche, a traditional Parisian restaurant, and found the experience to be exceptional. The food was absolutely excellent, and the service was equally impressive. The servers were knowledgeable, friendly, and very quick to respond. The view was breathtaking, offering a stunning perspective of the city landscape. Although the prices are on the higher end, they are fitting for such a high-end restaurant. It's important to note that there is no parking lot available, but valet service is provided, and the restaurant doesn't have obvious signage.
Have been wanting to dine at Scaramouche since moving to Toronto about a year ago but just never seemed to get around to it. Finally had dinner plans with friends who made reservations here. What an experience. From start to finish, an amazing dinner and evening. The space is very calm and relaxing. Service was excellent and the food speaks for itself. Having lived in Europe for 3 years, Scaramouche took us back to some of our favorite places we used to frequent in Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen etc. I can see why this restaurant is always mentioned when people talk about dining out in Toronto. Will be on our regular rotation going forward. Thank you!
One of the best meals Ive had. Worth every penny! You can easily drop a couple of hundred dollars on a crappy meal in Toronto, and in hindsight would rather have gone to MacDonalds (we feel that way often). Or spend a bit more at Scaramouche. Its worth it! Really Michelin-quality everything. We hadnt been in almost 20 years, and recently moved to Summerhill, walking distance to Scaramouche. We did drive though in the cold windy December evening and of course took advantage of their valet. Tipped $10. Just do it! Every part of the dinner was top-notch. A great wine, not too pricy considering the establishment. Mushroom pasta as an app was so good. Scallops fantastic. We went on a Monday, so there was a bit of a business crowd. But the tables are spread out and its just the right noise level. Waiter was so kind and just attentive enough, not to bother. Nothing pretentious about this place. They just nailed everything.
Took my mother here for her birthday and we had a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!!
Great food and atmosphere overall. We had a lovely evening there. The coconut cream pie was definitely the best dessert ever!! Vegetarian options: There s a full menu Parking: Free Valet service is was right at the door.
Consistently good upper scale place to meet and dine. I would recommend increasing by an item or two on the vegetarian menu and removing bacon from the fish dish Just my personal preference.
Probably the best sourdough bread in the world. Service was great too.
Amazing Service by Ryan. Thanks Alot
I ate there this week. The service was excellent. The soup was very good. My main course of lamb with pasta was not very flavourful, and the pasta was a little over cooked. My friend had the fish main and reported that it was also quite bland. The bread with hummus was quite tasty.
Fusion, large portion, delicious
We came to Scaramouche at the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. The food was outstanding as was the service. Kevin was wonderful and his recommendations were spot on!
A first class restaurant with free valet parking that soothed the impact of a strenuous drive thru Toronto due to highway closure
Great restaurant with classic food. Great for a date night.
Adequate quality of food but where this place drops the ball is the selective service it provides. It s a very cliquey establishment which favours guests of a certain colour and background. This on top of the valet staff that are outwardly rude towards new patrons, it s tough to recommend this place at all. The food isn t worth the uncomfortable feeling in this place.
Very decent experience! A couple of minor imperfections on our dishes but it did not ruin our night. I would say that this is a very classic old-school French restaurant and they seem to choose to stay away from anything modern. If you enjoy a quieter ambiance with good food and good service, this is the spot! Parking: Free Valet Parking. This place is a bit incognito, so just look for the entrance of this condo building and trust that Google took you to the right spot!
Scaramouche gave me his special cream for my coffee, not sure what that meant, but it was damn good. Will for sure come again!!!
Got slapped by scaramouche food was good though 10/10 would recommend
One of my favorite spots in Toronto!
The place is beautiful, people are nice but the food was a let down.
Fancy, charm atmosphere. Classic french, but not amazing. Pasta was good. Others were not bad. Service was very disappointing; server was polite but did not gave us any explanation for the foods. If you are looking for the fancy restaurant for your dating, this might be it. Looking for good food? I dont recommend.
We came her to celebrate our third year anniversary. We ve been here a few times before but Scaramouche is a treat and I wouldn t want to spoil the experience with excessive repetition. We were greeted by Harry, a different style than our usual server Andrew, but a fantastic server nonetheless. As usual everything was explained in detail, with a bit of theatre to cater to the experience. Food was impeccable, ambiance amazing, service - delightful. Highly recommend.
Odd location. We entered the restaurant in a corner and down stairs. The view out the windows was wonderful. The food was well presented and very good. They offer a wonderful selection of protein. I had duck breast,my husband had scallops.
Amazing ! We really had an excellent dinner after an afternoon Casa Loma visit. We liked all we order & our server Nich (sorry if I am mispronouncing) was superb! We celebrated our anniversary and way to go coconut cream pie. No wonder has been on the menu for 40 years. Duck breast and rack of lamb were excellent!! Also ! Signature cocktail Empress totally recommended.
I havent seen a single comment about Kabukimono so Ill be the first
Our favorite restaurant in Toronto! The food is always amazing, and the soups are a must try , we always leave the plates completely clean Service is the highest level possible
Our recent visit to Scaramouche for a birthday celebration was marred by disappointing service. Despite the quality of the food, the overall experience was negatively impacted by our waitress s lack of attention. We did not receive a single water refill, even after explicitly requesting more water. It was evident that she treated the neighboring table more attentively, which made us feel neglected. Unfortunately, due to this poor service, we do not plan to return, which is a shame considering the food was quite good.
My new favorite in Toronto, outstanding!
Spectacular stuff, worth the hype in every way. Food is extremely good, Price is also reasonable. May their business blossom for years to come! You must try and support them.
Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, but what I love most is the attention given to the side dishes! In my opinion, they often outshine the main proteins they accompany, offering unique flavors and creativity that make the meal even more enjoyable.
I dined here a short while ago for the first time. It was a flawlessly executed dining experience in every way. Dishes ordered by our party included scallops, rack of lamb, and duck confit. Every dish was a treasure. I did not care for the weird liqueur-based house martini that I ordered (based on a Google review I read) but our waiter cheerfully replaced it with a traditional martini. A fantastic evening that I cant wait to do again!
Food was spectacular. Our server was Andrew and he made our experience 10/10. We will be back!
Incredible service for decades. A beautiful, elegant space. Food was flawless pre-pandemic since then I ve had some misses - though overall still largely exquisite fare.
We went to Scaramouche for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing! The service is top notch, the food is perfect. We tried the featured scallop crudo and it was unforgettable! My lamb was cooked perfectly and her filet mignon was absolutely delicious. Of course we finished off with the coconut cream pie and it did not disappoint. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we ve had in Toronto. (The restaurant entrance doesn t have much signage but it is to the left of the main condominium entrance, you can see in my pic.)
iv been here many times.every time was excellent!Quiet environment, valet parking, great views, fresh ingredients, great experience, suitable for dates, birthdays, celebrations
Amazing food and even better service. Highly recommended. must visit
I do not like to be tricked. After frequenting this restaurant for about 40 years and having made reservations there without problems, I was most unhappy with my reservation this past Friday to celebrate a dear friend s birthday. I had phoned a while before to request a window table. My request was accepted on the phone. Upon arriving I was taken to a table by the window in the area of the restaurant that used to be the pasta bar. I have never been seated there or told on the phone that We would not be seated in the main dining room. Upon complaining to the Maitre D, he arrogantly replied that I requested a window and got a window and that I should be happy with the view of the CN Tower!!!! My guest s dinner was not even warm. My terrine de foie gras was flat and tasteless. Chef should take a lesson from Patrick Kriss whose foie gras is litterally orgasmic .A very aggravating evening! Mimi Goyer
Wonderful meal celebrating a special anniversary. Thanks to server Dean, sommelier Andrew and of course chef and staff for an exquisite meal and memorable evening.
Classic Toronto restaurant - always delicious and inviting. Went for our wedding anniversary- perfect spot. We especially loved the oysters and scallops.
I came for the final seating at 9PM alone for a quick meal since I m here on a work trip. Did not disappoint. The staff were very welcoming, offered to store some of my bags in a safe office. I did not feel rushed at all, still was treated with patience despite being there a bit late. I didn t know about the beautiful views of Toronto, a nice bonus. The PEI oysters were HUGE and I loved them, one of the few times I have seen such freshness far from the ocean! The pasta was great, so tasty and generous with the beef I think I must return for the truffle and mushroom pasta! I can totally see why people come here for special occasions, but must say that I paid $70 and that it s definitely worth coming for more than just special occasions especially seeing how a plate at Joeys (semi fast food) is of similar pricing nowadays.
What an outstanding restaurant!!! The food was excellent and only beaten by the service. Highly recommend!!!
Went to Scaramouche the first time over 20 years ago for a business meal went back for numerous anniversaries after that and haven t been for a while then with my sister-in-law had her 60th birthday. A few of us were familiar with Scaramouche and hadn t been since pre-pandemic, so we said, let s try Scaramouche. To me it s still a top 10 restaurants in Toronto. Great food great service nice presentation.
Scaramouche is absolutely worth the raving reviews, no questions asked! The food was absolutely incredible, I had the beef peppercorn linguini and I cannot stop thinking about it!! The scallops and halibut were out of this world! And their famous coconut cream pie is a slice of heaven that you will not regret ordering! The service was outstanding, our group was taken care of from the moment we stepped into the restaurant and until we left. The atmosphere is very lovely with a surprisingly beautiful view of the Toronto skyline. I cannot wait to return here for my next meal!
Regular food, but the waitress took 20% from my gift card as tip without asking me, and then she refuse to show me the receipt, I had to ask several times.
A Lovely little restaurant with excellent service. Appreciated the great selection of wines. Unfortunately, the food was pretty average - the lobster was a little disappointing, flat, poorly seasoned, rubbery, not a 5 star dish in my opinion. The tuna entree was nice and well balanced, but would not order it again as there was no wow factor.
Great food and service. The ambiance is nice but very Urban for a French restaurant. But still amazing experience
20+ years since our last visit, and Im happy to report that the food, service & atmosphere is still top notch. Living in Ottawa, its hard to visit more frequently, but considering the Toronto traffic, maybe thats a blessing in disguise for us. Certainly looking forward to our next visit to GTA, and Scaramouche...
Everything is perfect! A great choice for parties or dates!
Delicious. Beautiful ambience and great service.
One of Toronto s best restaurants. Classic perfection. Can t say enough good things.
Fantastic on every level!!
We came here for anniversary and the overall experience was good. The food is worth for the price. The portion is good enough to have a great full meal. The Terrine of Foie Gras and the chocolate cherry mousse are highly recommended. And we have a special sign with the dessert for the special occasion. However, the server forgot to ask for allergies when we ordered cause that was the daily special soup and not on the menu. Luckily, we told the server afterwards to avoid allergic happened.
Wonderful evening...excellent on all accounts. A favourite for 40 years!
Amazing food! The food was well seasoned, nice portions, plated so nicely 10/10. The food did take a little long to come but it was so worth it!
Amazing amazing place. The ambience, the service, the plating and the food was so good. We had an amazing time here and will definitely be back!
Michelin recommend restaurant. They have the best cocktails and superb vegan options. My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience. We highly recommend this restaurant. Vegetarian options: They have a vegan vegetarian menu. Just ask for it.
Toronto land mark
Scaramouche is still by far one of the best restaurants in Toronto. And the quality of the food and experience is on the same level as excellent restaurants in Paris, Rome, New York and beyond.
Had a great experience here last night. Our server was great. He offered the specials and suggestions, I had the special; venison which was cooked perfectly. We also had the infamous coconut cream pie which has been on the menu for 38 years !!! Nice view of the city, the restaurant inside is a little dated but overall the atmosphere is very nice. At the end of our meal we hadn t yet finished our bottle of wine and with new laws in place the served corked it and we took it to go ;)
Never got disappointed in this restaurant, no matter food or service . It is amazing that they keep the food and service in the high level quality for so many years. They should be an icon for Toronto
Fabulous restaurant
We had a special dinner with friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection; my husband had the venison special which was equally delicious. Of course we had their famous coconut cream pie for dessert! Luscious and creamy, with the right amount of crunch to the crust. Service was attentive without being intrusive or obsequious and complementary valet parking is a plus. No wonder this is our go-to for good occasions.
Amazing restaurant in a beautiful setting. Service was outstanding. Food was really good
Came here once a few years ago and at the time, every dish blew me away. Loved the duck breast and beef cheek papardelle. But went again very recently and felt that the quality had gone down. The fois gras app and coconut cream pie are still great, but duck breast and papardelle tasted much flatter and not salty enough. Perhaps they changed the recipe or have a new chef
Every plate is a picture.
One of the best restaurants in the city, hands down
First the excellent; staff are friendly but professional and attentive but not overbearing. The food presentation was impeccable but as with most French restaurants the portions are on the small side. If you like big plates this may not be a place for you. The hummus was outstanding and served with very nice sour dough bread. The foie gras was very good but not quite as good as Le Saint-Amour in Quebec City. The salads were very good. My wifes poached lobster meat was on the chewy side and a bit overcooked. Our youngest sons file mignon was excellent and the mushrooms were some of the best I have tasted. The scallops were perfectly done but the trout roe was not a pairing I liked. My wifes lemon dessert was absolutely beautiful the way it was presented but lacked substance. The coconut cream pie and the semifreddo very both very good but we would have liked a touch more sweetness. All in all we will likely visit again. Parking: The restaurant provides valet parking.
Always a fabulous dining experience
There is nothing to fault with food and service. The restaurant is top notch when it comes to the quality of food and the service, from complimentary valet to waiters at the table it s wonderful. The filet was good and the mushrooms accompanying it were excellent. This is my 3rd visit and so far it s been 3/3 for me very little restaurants can say the same. And dare I say, if you aren t a drinker the value for $ on the food, compared to the upper end of the city is starting to look pretty good!
I came here for dinner with my husband on a Saturday night. It was a nice restaurant that provided valet parking, which is a nice plus. The food was great, but I thought my main was a bit too salty. The desserts were great. I wish I had ordered the coconut cream pie as well because it is so good. The service was excellent. The food came quickly. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. I thought that the other guests were not very dressed up.
Impeccable food & service!
Harry was an astounding server. Really helpful and informative. Meal was incredible. Great experience. Cant wait to return.
Excellent service and my family was there celebrating my brothers 60th Birthday. I ordered the filet mignon which was outstanding. (Our waiter recommended it) The desserts were divine. Valet parking is a nice added touch which I appreciated as my Mother is almost 94 and has mobility issues. On that note restaurant was a little dark which made it a bit challenging for my Mom as she was leaving. I will recommend this restaurant to friends.
Beautiful restaurant, spectacular dishes. Coconut Cream Pie is as good as it gets.
Came here for my birthday. Felt really welcomed by all the staff, from the complimentary valet service and coat check to the manager and waiter and servers at our table! Special mention: our waiter Dean was really attentive throughout the evening and made recommendations and had good knowledge of the menu and each dish! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Scaramouche! The food was excellent, service top notch and really comfortable atmosphere. We had the artichoke soup, lamb rack, and lobster risotto. Milk & honey for dessert it s honey mousse with milk wafers and icecream! Delicious! Parking: Complimentary valet parking and coat check
Scaramouche is a romantic French restaurant located in mid-town Toronto. Upon arrival, valet parking is provided. Once entering into the restaurant, you will notice the beautiful view of downtown Toronto. Make sure to reserve the window seats, but it is not guaranteed. We ordered the lobster and shrimp salad for the appetizer. It is the special of the night and not from the menu. I believe every night, the restaurant has some special apps and main course. The freshness of lobster and shrimp, mix with creamy dressing provided a wonderful taste of the appetizer. For the main, we had the seafood risotto and lamb chop. Again, the seafood from the risotto is fresh, and since we are sharing, the waiter asked the kitchen to divide the portion in half for us. The lamb chop has two pieces, but they are huge pieces. The meat is tender and cook perfectly to medium. We didnt order any dessert this time, because the food is enough for us. I would definitely suggest anyone for nice French cuisine to give it a try.
Been frequenting this establishment my whole life. Service started off slow but server improved as the meal went on. A few things to note : -Seated 10 mins late , with a reservation. -salad was lacking dressing. Waited 10 minutes for more dressing. -my Dad requested his steak with garlic and some steak spice. Server had never heard of this request and really made that obvious. -my husband s steak came blue rare instead of his medium rare request. Steak went back and arrived properly cooked as the rest of the table was finished eating. Not good. -server never came over at either appetizer course or main course to see how everything was. This is definitely not typical. -no apologies. No offer of restitution. Nothing. I really truly believe that from my previous experiences , this restaurant is top notch. At the very least , we should have been offered deserts on the house. Disappointed to say the least. Did approach the maître D , and made him aware. Not the best experience for sure !
Scaramouche is an icon of fine dining in Toronto. The service, the ambiance, the view, and of course every morsel of the food is as expected...a wonderful culinary experience. You will not be disappointed.
Theres a reason its a Michelin Guide restaurant, there is a free valet at the place, view of the Toronto skyline is beautiful, and service was amazing by our server Mike, every dish my party ordered was cooked to perfection, and the presentation was impressive. Food portions were satisfactory, not overwhelming nor under sized, desserts are so light, dont skip the coconut cake.
You see the toronto skyline right there
Very nice ambiance (tip - try and get a table next to the windows), great service and delicious food. I m vegetarian and was glad they had a large vegetarian menu. Expect to spend lots of time at the restaurant - this is not a quick diner.
Quite literally in my top 10 fine dining restaurants in the city. They have never disappointed me
The food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The flavors were exceptional and the portion sizes were just right. I could taste the freshness of the ingredients and I left feeling completely satisfied. A wonderful dining experience all around! Xxx
Was good food and atmosphere. Would come back again to try their pasta dishes.
Well, the service, food, and view isnt a problem. All of it done to a high calibre.
Food of the highest quality and taste plus service that is top notch. Add in a great view of the city. We had a great first experience at Scaramouche and would highly recommend the Lobster Bisque appetizer, the grilled octopus appetizer, and the Peppercorn Fettuccini entree. While this isn t an Italian restaurant, this was one of the best pasta dishes I ve ever had - so full of flavour and the pasta cooked al dente! The lamb entree was also good. The warm flourless chocolate cake for desert is also highly recommended.
Wonderfully executed meal . Stellar service on all points.
Delicious food, inviting atmosphere, great service! Parking: Complimentary valet parking Food : 4/5 |
Finally got to eat here and I was not disappointed!
Fantastic restaurant, everything was top-notch from each course to the service
food was o.k. it was good. I always orderwater first, because good restaurants use good filtered water even if its tap water, so I always check it first. The server asked me if I want tap water or spring water. This is cheap restaurants technique. When people order free tap water, they try to embarrass the customer, and try to make them order spring water, cz if the customer pay more, the server can get more tip. However good restaurant dont do it, cz it make the customer embarrassed. In this meaning, this restaurant is not really a high-end restaurant. The worst thing here was the glass was so stinky. It smelled like garbage, and I couldnt drink the water. My friends glass of water was fine, so I guess I was just unlucky. Maybe they dont clean the glass very well. However it shouldnt be unlucky for the cleanliness. If they want to be called high-end, they should be more careful for little things.
Place was actually amazing, though I wish I couldve gotten the waiters number
Dietary restrictions: My wife has a celiac. There were plenty of choices to choose from. Food
The food is flavorful, nice presentation, inexpensive, portions are just right, but desserts are the best I have ever seen. I will be coming back to this place and would recommend anyone to try it out, especially for the magnificent desserts!
I took clients here for a appreciation dinner and everyone was thoroughly impressed. The food, service and drinks were all fantastic. The views of the city are fantastic. Looking forward in coming here again.
Best fine dining meal I have had in about 8 months (including all the other Michelin Star restaurants I have visited during that time across North America) This place deserves a Michelin Star or two. Glad to have come by after about 5yrs. We will be back before end of the year for sure. Gnocchi with black truffle was fantastic. Lamb was very tasty. Couldnt stop eating the Coffee Semifreddo Dacquoise. Almost ordered 2nds because my wife almost finished mine after her Milk and Honey dessert.
The food is good but is a bit overpriced
Beautifully designed restaurant. Food was incredible and the service top notch. The value for the cost was also excellent. Overall would recommend for anyone looking for an intimate evening or even dinner with friends. Parking: Free Valet Parking
Extraordinary atmosphere with an amazing food. Definitely deserve five stars.
Absolutely delicious. We got the olives, beets, and ravioli for app. Duck and lamb for main. Honey milk for dessert. Ravioli, lamb, and dessert were particularly excellent. All elements of the dish served a purpose in either cleansing or enhancing the palate. Great service too - was not slow and did not feel rushed. Definitely give it a try!
The restaurant was lovely, and the cuisine was excellent. I look forward to returning to sample more of their dishes.
We came here for our anniversary and it was a great experience! We ordered the romaine hearts, cured salmon, lamb shoulder and pork. Dishes were flavourful with unique accompaniment. Great option for special occasions! Our waiter was also very attentive! 5 Food
Beautiful view with great food! The restaurant is hard to find for the fist time visitors. The restaurant offers valet parking, so bring some cash to tip. I highly recommend the coconut cream pie for dessert
Our server Kevin was amazing, made our night even more memorable with laughs and perfect service. The food was incredible. Very happy we spent out new years here
We havent visited Scaramouche in several years but decided to go back and we were not disappointed. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and sophisticated. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The star of the show was the food. Everything was exceptionally tasty and absolutely perfect. I have not a single critique. One of my favorite places!
We had a great time here! The food was stellar - we had the halibut, chicken and lamb for mains, cauliflower and cured salmon for appetizers, and coconut pie for dessert. Our server Ryan was exceptional - extremely knowledgeable on the food and wine, attentive, and even laughed at our lame jokes! :) Thanks to Scaramouche for a wonderful evening!
Delicious and all around great experience. Deserving of 5 stars.
We have dined at Scaramouche for many years, especially on News Years eve ,always an early reservation around 5:30PM. This year I dont know if they had a problem in the kitchen or whether it was our female waitperson (who had a cold), but service was slow. Our first appetizer arrived on time but the extra appetizer that we had ordered didnt arrive until 6:45PM We were seated at our table by 5:30PM). When the bill arrive it was $390.00 before taxes and about $440.00 in total. A client had given us a $150.00 gift voucher which we applied to the bill which brought it down to about $290.00. I left $360.00 (all in twentys) that the waitperson acknowledged and we proceeded upstairs to retrieve or coats. This is when the very awkward/embarrassing situation occurred . Suddenly I hear a person coming up the stairs saying excuse me but you didnt leave the right change. It turned out to be our waitperson and who repeated it again that we didnt leave the right change. I was embarrassed, and looked at the coat check person and my wife in astonishment. It took 3 attempts by me to show the waitperson that $440.00 -$150.00 gift voucher=$290.00 and we had left her a generous $70.00 tip for a total of $360.00, which she had in her hand. She then proceed to apologize blaming her cold for mistake. I just looked at t my wife and the young coat check man and said that was embarrassing! I know mistakes can happen but they should be handled properly. The waitperson should have checked more closely the money I left her at the table to verify the amount. Even though we have dined at Scaramouche foe many, many years and recommended it to all our friends, this incident has put us off the restaurant. Parking: good parking
A hidden gem in Toronto. Consistency great food and service. The atmosphere isnt over hyped but classic with a great view. Worth the price. Would love to see them expand their signature cocktails list and add some cocktails to keep up with current trends. Dessert is a must!
One of the best restaurants in Toronto
My friend and I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, highly recommended
Simply done with excellence
With only one night in Toronto, the pressure was on to find a great place to have dinner. Im elated to have found Scaramouche, a longtime staple on the Toronto dining scene for good reason. The restaurant is tucked discreetly in a residential/office building and would be difficult to find if not for the valet stand. Upon entering, we were escorted to a table by the windows boasting a sweeping view of the Toronto skyline, which we enjoyed looking out at as dusk fell over the city. The service was warm but not at all overbearing, and at no point in the meal did we feel rushed. (Coming from the US, this is a RARITY!). My Albertan lamb saddle and my dining companions Ontarian filet of beef were both exceptionally good, in fact some of the best lamb Ive had anywhere. Combine this with an attractive, chic ambiance and a great bottle of French wine, what more could you want? A++.
Great restaurant with excellent food and a fantastic waiter. We had a great Canadees wine. Food
The food was delicious and a perfect combo of flavours. The atmosphere was as expected, refined and elegant but in a tasteful way. Service was phenomenal.
Had the ravioli for the app, duck breast as the main, and coconut cream pie for dessert. Food and service were both amazing.
The perfect upscale date night, with a view.
Dinner at Scaramouche a few weeks ago. Every aspect of this restaurant screams perfection and attention to detail. In my opinion it s one of the best fine dinning experiences you can have in the city, without having to take a second mortgage on your home. The price points are extremely reasonable and fair for the quality of the food, service and overall experience. In some respects it s a throwback to a different time period when you were made to feel special and not rushed through dinner so the table can be flipped. There is a Michelene acknowledgment at the front door. Dinner picture below was fantastic. Very dish. The noodles with beef and bread crumbs. Very hardy and extremely tasty. The lobster and scallops dishes exceptional and every appetizer was memorable. Deserts are pieces of art and delightful. The service is impeccable. This place is famous for its coconut cream pie. And it was great however, the other deserts were just as good if not better. If you are planning for a special night out, this place should be high on your list.
Here is expensive, but according its food and service, it worth its price.
It was great to finally try out the restaurant. We enjoyed coming here. Menu is simple and yet they managed the dishes well.
I dined at Scaramouche last night with my girlfriend for her birthday and the entire experience was amazing! This is definitely a destination, romantic, and food experience fine dining. We had the shrimp and tomato salad starters which flavours resonated throughout dish - light, fragrant, perfect crunch and texture. Middle course was the foi grois terrine which buttery melted in your mouth with warm brioche compliment, cherry sauce. 2 filet mignons cooked perfectly for main course, whipped potato, mushroom, bean compliment. My girlfriends dessert had her name written in chocolate on the plate and was perfectly presented. I can t say enough about the perfect service from Andrew, utmost professional, pride in his work, thoughtful and knowledgeable. The manager Andrew stopped by the table as well and was very cordial. One of the best dinner experiences I have had and will be back! Cheers
Impeccable service and attention to detail. Even splitting one entree into 2 plates for partner to have. Every dish is well executed. Appetizer shrimp salad was complimented so well with the dill sauce. Fried Calamari was on point and refined? Definitely the place to be for fine dining. There are off menu dishes available too but we stuck with the main menu.
Spectacular. The food is fantastic, the views great. We had dinner there and they gave us a table in the window with spectacular views of the entire skyline. The dishes were wonderful.
Absolutely Fantastic!!!!! Better than ever! Food : 5/5
Probably now my 4th time at this restaurant. The presentation, the taste and the service, everything is always spot on. From this visit, the foie gras, the beef fettuccine and the coconut cream pie were our favorite dishes....the halibut dish, especially its sides was slightly underwhelming. Food
FOOD (menu has changed): Duck: absolutely amazing, Im so surprised with the idea of using mustard green. It adds a hint of asian to the dish. This bring me back to the moms homecook flavor. The sauce is beyond delicious. Fillet Mignon: portion is tiny, its about 3 bites. This one is good but not that great. Foie Gras Terrine: the texture is to hard and thick, too smelly for a foie gras. I did not like the idea of sprinkle salt on top of the brioche, I guess to kill the smelly flavor of foie gras but it didnt work so well. And it destroys the flavor of brioche. Ricotta Ravioli: creamy but ravioli get hard after a some time. Nuts in every dishes, I dont feel like they really belong to this dish. But overall pretty good. A meringue & red orange dessert: I didnt have much memory about this. Taste almost like ice cream. Coconut Cream Pie: Thiss claimed to be the best selling. Not a big fan of coconut but its good! The coconut flavor hit at first bite, together with rich taste of cream and white chocolate. SERVICE: I feel heavy vibe dine in here. Staffs are not so friendly and look a bit annoyed since I stepped in. I constantly questioned myself what did I do wrong. ATMOSPHERE: I really wish it was not ground floor, as the view outside the window is really nice. Very formal vibe, I had to keep my voice very low to not break the quiet environment. Overall not a very comfortable experience.
A great French home-cooked restaurant, every dish is delicious, my favorite is the beef noodle and roast duck breast. The lamb is also good, and the desserts and ice cream are worth trying. The service is very satisfactory and the price is fair. Will stay again.
We came here for my wife s birthday dinner and I can say we had an amazing experience. The staff is extremely kind, professional, and attentive. The food is fantastic. Highly recommend the mushroom soup.
Best restaurant ever the food was so tasty!!! Although there was this guy who kept going on about a gnosis and becoming a god or something?? That was a little strange but he was handsome so it s fine
I went last night with my crew, 4 of us in all, and had a truly wonderful time. They have a sommelier present who guided us through some incredible wine. The soup feature was a roasted butternut squash soup that I will be fantasizing about for the rest of my life. Absolutely everything was on point. This place has climbed to the top spot for a special occasion. Ill be looking high and low and for a reason to celebrate so we can return.
Aether from Genshin Impact : I was came to this restaurant, until I saw a electro mom and with his two son. Some reason a blue emo boy and a purple emo boy. I don t know why Genshin Impact characters are in this restaurant!? WAIT IN THE MINUTE WHY THERE TWO SCARAMOUCHES!? Since when did Scaramouche had a restaurant!?
Owner was not very happy to see me
Stunning!
This waiter tried to kill me but still a pretty good experience :)
Dated menu and wine/drinks. Felt like a flashback to the 80 s. Not very imaginative or inspired. Attentive and caring staff, trying to make an overpriced meal feel special, which it was not.
Indulging in a culinary masterpiece at Scaramouche, where French and Italian flavors blend in perfect harmony. Enjoying fine dining with a view thats as spectacular as the dishes. We ordered the best from Appetizers, Entrees and Desserts. Parking: Free Parking and its a Valet Parking
love the food! the service was amazing! But there was this short Asian kid with a big hat who kept staring at me while I was trying to eat. 9/10 would come back
Got a server with a gigantic hat and blue bowlcut. He was very nice and a small little girl that looked like a radish was telling him to be nice. Good food.
Probably one of the best French restaurant in Toronto. Service was notch. Lots of variaty on the menu. Food was great. The restaurant also got a great view of DT Toronto, and Valet parking just add a bounce!
We celebrated our anniversary in Scaramouche. Loved their ambience and service. My favourite was coconut cream pie.. It was so delicious!! Must have dessert. Another thing I liked is they have free valet parking and great view of downtown.
Went there for gfs birthday dinner. Excellent service and great food!
An old classic, much loved for decades
This is our FAVOURITE restaurant and compare any other restaurant experience to Scaramouche. When we lived in Toronto, we often dined there, celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, school graduations and any other special occasions we could come up with. Now, living about 1 1/2 hours away, we dine there less frequently. We have introduced our children (and now our granddaughter) to the Scaramouche dining experience so that they would understand what excellent food is all about. We are heading there again soon, for her birthday. . . . A win/win for both of us! The 5 star ratings across the board are because . . . (1) their food is sublime! (2) the atmosphere is relaxing. (3) the staff are smooth, personable and professional.
Good food and convenient valet parking.
We loved all of our dishes, timing was great, however, the service from Andrew K was atrocious. Andrew was condescending and at one point he raised his voice at our party. It ruined our experience at this restaurant. It is unfortunate because we really enjoyed all of the dishes.
Used to be my fave restaurant but came back after 2 year and it s still good but not great
BEST PLACE EVER FOR PASTA QND PIZZA!!!! The mozzarella is really fresh! And the service is wonderful! AMAR IS AWSOME!!! he is so nice and remembered all of our orders! I don t know how he does it! Best place to eat pasta!!!
Was here on weekend, food was exceptional, will definitely come again with wife.
superb food and service. yes coconut cream pie but have you tried milk and honey?! my goodness it was incredible!
There s a reason my parents have been coming here annually for their anniversary the last 15 years. The food is not only beautifully plated and decadent, but the Toronto skyline view from inside the restaurant is lovely, the wait staff are all knowledgeable and kind, and the interior is sophisticated and warm. We were a group of 5 with varying food orders, and we were all happy with our dishes. There is also complementary valet parking, where you pull up to the roundabout and are greeted immediately by the valet. The resto itself is tucked into the corner of the condo building. Highly recommend for an upscale dinner celebration!
He kept ranting about a gnosis?? And how hes powerful???
Perhaps the top dinning experience of my life. Every detail was perfect. Very appreciative of the extensive gluten free and vegetarian options, as well as the knowledgeable staff.
Always amazing. Excellent food. Consistent and comfortable, with exceptional service and attention to detail.
A great experience overall. Will definitely be back. Special thanks to our waiter, Kevin !
Superb elegant dinning!!
Great food, excellent service and amazing view of the city line
