815 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6C 1B9, Canada
Cozy eatery with outdoor seating serves up familiar Indian fare, including vegetarian options.
these guys are awesome! my first pakoda take out was packed so it came home soggy but after i mentioned it they changed the packaging! always crispy now. I am a loyal customer and slowly working my way through their delicious menu! perfect every time!
The perfect Indian restaurant getaway for a delicious meal! The Tika Masala is incredible, and the service was fantastic (Hanil was such a lovely host, very kind and helpful)! Would highly recommend this delicious gem 😊
Worst food i ever tried. It was my first experience with this restaurant. I ordered food by uber eats and spent around $74. Food was tasteless and stale. I ordered veg biryani, paneer do pyaza, samosa and naan. I waited around 1 hour to get my food and i was excited about it. When i tasted it i regretted. Biryani was without raita and vegetables in biryani smelling bad. Paneer was bas too, no spice, too much oil inside. I wish i could give zero rating. Not recommended at all, don’t waste your time and money.
The food here is out of this world, best Indian food in TO, as far as we're concerned. We've been coming here for years. It's family run and the service is amazing.
So good. I've lived in this neighbourhood for 15 years, and that's as long as I've been coming here – with my kids and with my friends. The menu has recently been pared down to the classics. The butter chicken bowl is a feast, at only $15. Tikka chicken is marinated and charred to perfection. The service is wonderful. Savera is a local gem.
Ordered tandoori chicken and few other dishes from door dash, I never had such a bad tandoori chicken in life. It was tasting so bland and the chicken was like rubber, I didn’t expect even here they use so much of food color to get the red color. People far away from our homeland crave for some good food but by end of the day it’s such disappointment. Note: if you decide eating samosa go ahead they serve with good chutney but dishes like tandoori chicken dal makhani was yuk.
This was our first experience with Indian cuisine. The place was quiet. The waiter was nice and helpful and gave us good suggestions. We got Chicken Vindaloo and Butter chicken as main dish, and mango lassi as a drink. The food was fast. I liked chicken Vindaloo. It had a very nice punch of flavours and perfect spiciness for my taste. I found the Butter chicken a bit bland. The portions were big enough to fill you and the price was good, except for the naan bread. Bread should either be offered free or have a modest price. We paid $6 for just 1 piece of naan bread which I found a bit rip off. Nevertheless, overall we liked the place and would come back again.
A beautiful and charming little family owned and operated Indian restaurant in St. Clair Ave. West neighborhood. Amazingly good, authentic Indian food combined with friendly staff and reasonable price. You will not be disappointed! The restaurant is open for take out only (due to COVID-19), but you can order their amazing butter chicken which is chef's special. If you are ordering naan, we lover the butter and garlic variety. The lamb dishes are amazing and unique. If you crave appetizers, try the veggie or chicken samosas! For the veggie dishes, I love the palak paneer (spinach cheese) that goes weill the rice (plain white rice) or biryani. My son loves the shrimp biryani!
Just happy as an Indian I have a very good Indian restaurant near me, the butter chicken is unreal!!
great experience
Friendly staff and fast service. Nice decorations in the restaurant!
Delicious! Parking: Lots of parking Food : 5/5 |
The food was very good, generous portions and the waitress was very pleasant. I m glad it s in the neighbourhood and we will no back.
Food is delicious, especially their shrimp masala. Food is always fresh and tasteful.
Major points lost for overpriced food with tiny portions. The actual food is pretty good, but such a rip off. No meals come with rice. $7 for a side of regular basmati rice? No way.
Delicious food and very friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Lots of options. Very good. Food : 5/5 |
Good food and friendly staff. Not overly spicy if that kind of thing bothers you. Have had good food here for many years. Can accommodate vegetarian and dairy free dietary restrictions.
I really enjoyed the flavour and it was good experience, but it s pricey comparing to same type of food in other cuisines, also the portion was very small, it s like to you need at least 40-50$ to have a good meal per person which is a rip off. This is why I put 3 stars
We arrived at 8 pm and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. The Indian cuisine was incredibly smooth and flavorful, a delightful end to a long day. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are grateful for the wonderful service. Thank you!
One of the best Indian cuisine choices in St Clair W area. The food was delicious, the prices are fair and the portions are generous. Definitely recommend Mango Lassi is bomb
our favourite indian restaurant in the city. highly recommend the bainghan masala, dhansak, and vegetable jalfreezi Vegetarian options: full page of vegetarian dishes and will happily accommodate vegans Dietary restrictions: will happily accommodate vegans
The food and the place is just amazing! The food is not so spicy hot, but so well seasoned! The waiter and everyone who works there are very nice and are ready to serve you.
This may have been one of the best Indian restaurants I ve ever ate from. Pukka down the street doesn t even compare
U are the best guy, I love your service, your really friendly Love u guys
Very nice, quiet Family operated establishment. Premises are small, inviting and well maintained. A wide variety of delicious traditional East Indian dishes. Friendly, attentive service. Have enjoyed this on previous occasions and will do so again in the future.
Absolutely delicious!
Amazing place, with a great ambiance:D
The food is super tasty and they have a lot of vegetarian options!
Like to get take out. Tasty dishes! Make for good left overs too.
Vegetarian options: Lots of tasty vegetarian options such as Chana Masala and Paneer dishes. Parking: Lots of parking available out front (paid street parking) and a green P lot within a block.
This is a family owned place with really sweet vibes of india. Music, incense. Kind staff, great food. Highly recommend.
Wonderful fresh authentic Indian cuisine.
This restaurant is run by a very kind and talented family, serving our neighbourhood for sometime. Their food is delicious and reasonably priced. My favourites are the chicken tikka masala and the fish curry.
LITERALLY THE BEST FOOD I EVER HAD IN CANADA !! 5 stars for them , excellent customer service. DELICIOUS FOOD
A true family run restaurant with great food and service. Decent value, great variety of dishes and spice levels for everyone. Will keep supporting this place for indian food cravings
Food was delicious, great value and service was excellent. Will go again!
Wow, Chef Tarlok is a real professional chef. We had a New Year Eve dinner. We had butter chicken, Also gobhi and Chicken curry. Everything was so tasty and yummy. I think this place needs more good reviews so people may get real Indian Pakistans delicious food in the heart of Toronto. Five
This is the bomb! Excellent tasting Indian food. Good size portions. Great selection of vegetarian dishes & for the non vegetarian theres lots to choose from.
You are literally amazing. The butter chicken, samosas, mango chutney, achaar, onion BHAJLA!!!! All so delicious and truly worth every penny! :)
Ive tried almost every Indian restaurant in midtown Toronto area because I absolutely love Butter Chicken. From Pukka Pukka to Aafrien, Khau Gully, Tamasha, Ambiyan and more (you get the point). This is my first time trying Savera and Im really disappointed. Their Butter Chicken was the probably the worst one I ever had. It was SO sour it tasted like tomato paste. There was no butteriness in the Butter Chicken that I had to add some cream in it to cut through the sour but even that didnt help. You can see how much the colour changed after I added the cream (see photo) from red tomato orange to a light orange, more so like regular Butter Chicken. I also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Gobhi which was lacking flavour. The Chicken Tikka Masala was really salty and the Gobi was really bland. The 1 star is for the portion which was good but unfortunately I didnt care to eat it. Im really surprised with the good reviews because 3 out of the 3 dishes was a total miss.
Mixed reviews here. The Chana Masala was on point and so was the masala in the Malai Kofta. But the kofta was more bready than cottage cheese hence the rating. I d give it a 1 star rating cause of the bready kofta otherwise definitely a 5.
They are overcharging for the food and itsnt upto the mark for authentic indian food.
Did Savera change owners? Really sad about my recent experience. Unfriendly customer service on the phone. Even on pick up. Doesn t seem like they care anymore. Also, food portions are smaller (less meat and cheese) and overall just not the same bold flavours we had come to love. On top of that they raised prices without updating it anywhere. It s oddly cheaper to order on Uber - which I try to avoid when I can to support local business. Anyways, it s sad because it s not the dependable we had come to love.
Went to Savera for Mothers Day. Called and made a reservation for 1 hours and got the perfect seating for 4. Food was superb, delicious and generous tasty portions!
I dont know how this is place is not a 5 stars (or at least closer to it). They have the best butter chicken in town (trust me I have tried enough places in Toronto to compare) also their rogan josh is to die for. And pretty much every single dish that I had have been absolutely amazing. My only guess is that they price is a little over to the amount received, but they definitely compensate on flavour. I am glad I live near by.
sooo delicious. My favourites are the paneer makhani and pakoras.
Amazing food.....so so tasty!
ONE OF THE MAIN MEALS IS TIKKA MASSALA AND I CAN TELL YOU, ITS DELICIOUS! ALSO, THE PLACE IS VERY NICE, THEY HAVE A LOT OF VARIETY OF INDIAN FOOD AND IT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN TOWN.
Very tasty chana (chick pea) curry and naan bread. Good location. Friendly but disorganized service.
Lovely local for Indian food, service is very friendly and the food is really flavorful.
We went here to grab a beer and a quick snack while we watched the people of Salsa on St. Clair walk by. It was a great place to grab a seat and rest after walking through the salsa festival for a couple of hours. We ordered beers, pakoras, samosas and mango lassis. The pakora were delicious, light and fluffy not dense and heavy, fantastic little snack. The samosas on the other hand were a little greasy but tasty nonetheless. I had a Cheetah beer which came out ice cold like a beer should be. The server was a young, beautiful lady who was friendly and polite and did her job really well. I had a great experience and would be back to try something other than finger foods and beer.
So nice tasty and quality food.available car parking behind building.professional and down to earth staff.me and my family enjoyed lunch at savera Indian cuisine.
Great service. Delicious food. Mahaan was friendly and attentive. We will return.
I took a visitor from NL who enjoyed this restaurant on their first visit ; food was so mooi (beautifully) prepared a second visit was a must. So favour full & reasonable prices. There will be a third visit in the future.
I used to love this restaurant, now not only did the prices go up but they also give you far less meat. So prices up and meat and seafood scarce in their meat and seafood dishes. Very disappointed, I hope they change.
Good place to have some sumptuous indian food. Patio is also great! Their naans were great and loved the butter chicken
Ive been going to this restaurant for years and it is the best. Love the food the place is never crowded, me and my friends are often the only ones in the restaurant. I try to go once a month even though it is very far from me, it is that good Vegetarian options: Im not vegetarian but I can proudly say all there food is great
The butter chicken was the best weve ever had. Samosas and naan were really good too.
One of the waiters poured beer on my friend and I. I then waited 40 minutes for my food only to realise, that same waiter forgot to pass my order to the chef. The food was okay. But by God the service can be greatly improved.
frustrating to pay $23 for a lamb biryani and basically just get a bowl of rice and maybe 4 bite sized pieces of lamb .tasted alright but that sort of greed is offputting, i won t be back
Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in this relatively small restaurant on St Clair. Ordered several dishes and found each to have unique and authentic flavors. The service was friendly and the wait was shorter than Im used to in other Indian restaurants. Definitely will return.
Excellent indian food, reasonably priced
Ordered Chicken Briyani and Kheer in takeaway. The staff was super polite, so kudos for that. The briyani was good, although I feel they should have been somewhat bold with the flavour; felt they treaded too carefully. The Kheer was below my expectations, both with the taste and quantity, especially given the price of the dish. Theres so much they can improve with a dish like Kheer. Will still go back for the briyani.
One of the finest Indian restaurant in Toronto. They serve amazing Spicy Indian cuisine. The staff is really passionate towards their work and make up to the customers satisfaction. Professionalism- 10/10 Food- 10/10 Ambience-10/10
Great food. Wonderful staff. Id highly recommend: butter chicken, Goan shrimp curry, tamarind chicken, garlic Naan. But its all great.
Very good quality of food, great flavour, good portions and friendly staff.
Got takeout from here for my second time and the food is consistently delicious!
Absolutely delicious!
Very good food
Delicious food and ambiance! We sat on the patio during a storm and the staff did everything they could to keep is dry and still managed to get us the best gulab jamun Ive had in the city!
Amazing food here. Highly recommended!
Savera is the go to spot on stclair for Indian food!! So delicious every time and I have never had any complaints at all. Kudos to the Savera team !!
Overpriced and tasteless with worst people serving it would not buy any food from here
Food is consistently good. I love several of the dishes and have been going to get food there several times over the years. Owner always comes out to greet me. Lovely service.
I just picked up from Savera for the first time and it will now be our go to spot after searching for great Indian food in the area. Everything was delicious - thanks!
Ordered takeout. Quality meal tasted liked home cooking.
Nice food. Good portions. Friendly staff
really good food, a place where spicy actually means spicy. Would defintely go back again.
Ive lived in the neighborhood for nearly 20 years and this is my all time favourite restaurant. Stop by if you have a chance.
Great Indian curries and papdi chat
Bland uninspired food. The naan was cakey. The palak paneer was pretty much salt and spinach and the paneer mahkani and under spiced Heinz tomato soup. Went here a few years ago and it was great, ordered last night and wasted my money.
The best Indian food in the city core. They use quality ingredients and the dishes are flavourful and rich. I usually gauge the quality of food by how well the leftovers taste the next day. Suffice to say, the food from Saveras is as good the next day as it is when first served. The service here is excellent -- warm, informative, and inviting.
Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. The butter chicken, lamb tikka masala and garlic naan is the best. Also, some other dishes are great too.
Terrible. Very poorly made food. Ordered a palak paneer and butter chicken. The palak tasted like old soup water with a bit of spice. The butter chicken was better but had very small pieces of chicken. It was also quite expensive. Would not return.
Weve been visiting Savera for the past two years and they make the most authentic tasty food - its so consistently delicious. The family who run Savera are some of the most kind and lovely people youll ever meet too.
One of my favorite place to go in Toronto. The food here is really delicious and to die for.
This place. Take to longer to serve your food. When you ordered your food. They told you first . It will take only 10 minutes. But they lied to you . It was 35 minutes and my food wasnt ready. So we decided to left right away. You should not lied to people that food will be ready for 10 minutes . You should say . It will take 20 to 30 minutes to serve you food. Tell the true no lie to people. Thank you.
A few days ago ordered chicken biryani and butter chicken, it was awesome. Taste similar to Lucknow food. The manager named Kaushal is very helpful.
Absolutley love this place!! My boyfriend and I order from here a few times a month and the food is always cooked to perfection. The spices that are used in every dish that Ive tried are so delicious and make everything taste very authentic. Ive tried quite a few dishes and my absolute favourite is the lamb jorda aloo sali boti, it is to die for. You will not be dissapointed with the quality of the food here, and when Ive dined in, the service was exceptional. Seriously this place is such a hidden gem and the best Indian food you will find in the city :)
The flavours here are no joke!!! They know what they are doing. My favourite Indian dish is saag/spinach/palak paneer and it was so delicious here. The sauces are not overcooked, so you get the bloom of the different flavours in your mouth. They can seat 3 to 4 parties spaced out on their front patio, and because the patio is raised its not so close to the street or passer-by on the sidewalk. Go!!
Great food and service!
Might just be the best Indian food in the city! Always super friendly, and the food is consistently great.
I ve had a lot of Indian around Toronto and I still go out of my way to get Savera on the regular. Great selections and always tasty. Perfect takeout during cold COVID days.
Overpriced, bland, and dry food. Very disorganized restaurant. I made basmati rice at home and this RUINED my rice. Thats all that needs to be said. Avoid.
Best Indian in Toronto, prove me wrong!
I prefer takeout from this amazing restaurant during this pandemic because I want to ensure they get all the money for their wonderful food! Pre-pandemic I ve eaten inside and takeout. And it s always amazing! Possibly the best Samosas in the city!
Im Indian and this is good food. I like palik paneer , butter chicken was awesome and riata
Delicious!! Delicious! Sorry! Good food! Good taste!
Always excellent service and delicious food.
Been to Savera many, many times. Today I decided to order take out. Lamb curry, butter chicken and okra. Was extremely disappointed. Food was good but honestly the portion size was ridiculous. In lots of butter chicken sauce and 6 cubes of chicken that were a little bigger then dice. The lamb was so little as well and the okra had more onion then okra. For the 79.00 we paid for 3 dishes and 4 rotis was a total rip off... never again
Nice ambience and great taste...nice place to eat...enjoyed the service as well
Takes wayyyyy tooooo long
One of the best indian cusinie in Toronto. Definitely recommend it to others.
Great food and very friendly staff.
Excellent chicken tikka. Really great service, too!
Ordered take out and the amount of salt in our Madras and Eggplant was insane. I was dehydrated for a whole day afterwards. Really disappointed, as it was a very promising, nearby place for me.
Good food! Nice place! Friendly staff. Family owned restaurant. Chef is vastly experienced!
BEST Indian in Toronto. Tasty, affordable and staff are always friendly. Both dine in and take out experiences have been great! Thank you Savera
We ordered a shared platter ...we were a bit disappointed ...the portions were not suitable for sharing. For instance , the platter included one small piece of lamb and one samousa .... We told the waitress that wE didnt really feel like the platter was suitable for sharing....specifically the lamb kabob and the samosa. She insisted that we were the only people who ever mentioned this?? Wtf
Always Delicious. This fine Indian eatery never disappoints. Family run, the service is so friendly and efficient. Both outdoor and indoor seating always available. And the price is very affordable. Now if only they would play traditional indian music instead of generic 80s radio to create a vintage indian atmosphere. Nevertheless, I highly recommended it.
Nice
Excellent food. Authentic taste.
Great food!
Rubber balloon piece in garlic naan I could have posted pic if google allows in reviews. Such a rude answer by them when I shown pictures ! Suggest not to order naans from them!
Ordered off uber , Had the following; plain nan Mixed vegetable curry Mutter palao ( rice/ghee with peas) paneer do pyaza ( cheese with vegetables& sauce) Its pretty good for take out and tastes amazing
Had a wonderful experience. Always the freshest ingredients. Great staff service with a smile. Im a repeat customer and have always been satisfied with the the food and staff.
I have always had an amazing experience everytime I visit here. The staff is great and so is the food. Dont pay attention to the bad comments here (I guess people just want free food). The food is excellent and the portions are good too. The staff is also very respectful and friendly . I highly recommend going to Savera especially if youre a fan of Indian food.
My fav local Indian restaurant
My go-to for authentic Indian food. A homey family restaurant with very attentive wait staff. Food portions are good and their garlic naan is the best!!
Delicious Indian food and a very friendly service. Will be coming back!
Severa is usually a wonderful place to eat last night was not one of those experiences. I waited 70mins after ordering to receive my food, 30mins to get water. The food was rushed and not up to the normal standards. Tables that came in after us were served 20mins before us and received constant service water and drinks and their food. The food was not worth the wait. I would suggest not going if it looks busy.
Just delivered a great experience on all levels; service, quality of meals and value for money. A great find.
Amazing food!!!
One of the few Indian restaurant options available on the street. Its a good restaurant with reasonable options. If you are looking for authentic cuisine than this isnt the right place. Really liked their samosas.
Tasty food but a little on the expensive side.
Best Indian food in town.
Amazing food!!! Definitely recommend it to everyone who appreciates foods full of flavor and succulency.
Delicious food and great service.
Authentic tastes and friendly staff.
Great food and friendly staff.
Its been in my neighborhood for as long as I can remember, and what took me so long to check it out? Weve ordered Lamb (KASHIMIRI ROGAN JOSH) , Paneer (MUTTER PANEER), and garlic naan. All was good - balanced taste, quality meal. Enjoyed service, ambiance, Indian music videos and calm quiet atmosphere.
Not as good as it look like
The service is poor, but the taste is amazing. My partner and I went this restaurant several times. I had the paneer curry and this is my favourite curry in Toronto.
Great food, menu and service.
Very good service and food quality is superb.... one of the best indian restaurant.
Cannot say enough great things about Savera. The staff was warm and welcoming. Food was delicious. Prices are on point. 6 adults dined with 2 bottles of wine for 204$!!!!! Thats unheard of!
Really good place. I love their lamb biriyanis. I would say the prices are kinda steep but you do get a fair quantity of food.
Very good food, quick service.
The service is not nowhere to be found. The employees are very rude. I am very disappointed. The curry entrees prices are above average price but they do not serve curry with rice nor a naan. You should not be tricked by the 4.4 rating. It is a false rating!!
Great butter chicken and palak paneer.
Attentive service and good food. Loved the lamb and the naan. Tandoori items come on an amazing sizzling plate.
Awesome Indian food experience. I took my friends to the restaurant , we had butter chicken, fish curry, tandoori chicken and garlic naan the food tasted perfect. Not too much spicy or sweet, perfect combination of spice used with the sauce. This place is worth spending money.
Great authentic tasting Indian food at a good price! Best Indian food available for kilometres !
Great food, great service
Its a small cozy restaurant with nice ambience. The food was great - the garlic naan was especially amazing.
Great place ,5 star for service , good indian food.
I went into this restaurant on a rainy Sunday and was delighted to find the place open between lunch and dinner service (which is rare for Indian restaurants). The lady who served me was very pleasant and seemed excited that it was my first time there. The food was delicious. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked and moist at the same time. The chicken curry had real flavour without being overly spicy. The onion bhajji was crisp and well seasoned. I had the rice pudding (kheer) for dessert and this was the clincher for me. I typically find kheer to be undercooked and overall underwhelming at restaurants. But not this kheer, it had been cooked over a slow heat and the milk and rice had had time to come together in a delicious combination. Overall I loved it ! Will be coming back !
This restaurant is st Clair s crowning jewel. Not sure why people are not here all the time but it is the one restaurant in this entire City that I eat from at least once a moth. If I found out I was on death row, I would request the following from their menu as my final dinner: - veggie pakora: crisp and yet soft, perfect spice balance - garlic naan: subtle yet devious. Always baked to perfection to balance a crisp exterior with a soft interior - paneer makhani: the curry of the gods. The sweet tomato gravy paired with the salty paneer makes me want to question the cosmos for such an incredible tasting dish. I would eat this every day if I could - Baingan Masala: impeccable eggplant with an excellent blend of spices Do yourself a favour and head to Savera ASAP
Absolutely delicious Indian food! We had the okra and the malai kofta and both dishes were cooked to perfection. The menu offers a range of Indian dishes, check it out!
Pathetic food ever had. Served vegetable Biryani with rotten and smelly veggies. Its good that after complaining they apologized but it could have made me n my family sick.
Delicious, great customer service. Patio optional Picture; Butter chicken and lamb tikka masal is recommended.
Really great Indian! Maybe a teeny bit overpriced. But great portions & delicious!
Walked into this restaurant looking for good Indian takeout by chance. It was empty except for staff / family. Ordered the butter chicken chicken korma chat papri and garlic naan. HOLY was this good. Authentic incredible fresh flavours. My new favourite Indian spot. Yum yum
Great Indian food and service! I only order takeouts, I suppose the dine in will be better! Recommend it for any occasion or regular dining.
First visit today, food was awesome! Ambience was nice and people are friendly. Slight delay in getting served, but other than that great experience.
Favourite Indian restaurant in the city! Delicious food and really friendly, excellent service
Clean, fast service, authentic food and helpful staff! A lovely dining environment. We visit all the time and are never disappointed!
Best Indian food! It s sooo good! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Favourite is vindaloo! Lamb, shrimp or even just vege! All is amazing!
Good food, odd service.
Great food, great service and great pricing.
Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto. Food is amazing. Service is amazing. The atmosphere is very positive and everything is always fresh. Highly recommend the shrimp vindaloo and they even have a stone baked oven and patio!
Just picked up Vindaloo with naan. The Vindaloo is OK but the naan is dry and overfried. Someone dropped the ball tonight
The food here is exceptional. The menu has a wide range of dishes with very reasonable prices.
This is a lovely local restaurant, with delicious reasonable food.
I just ordered in from Savera, and it was great! Everything was tasty. The flavors were complex and no shortcuts were taken. This is definitely my new goto Indian delivery spot! Keep up the good work!
We used to order Savera all the time, but moved out of town about a year and a half ago. We went back tonight and we couldnt be happier. Everything is just as delicious as it was, if not better. Great food, customer service and fantastic atmosphere.
for the price, best indian food in mid town
This place is off the hook. Im very picky with my Indian good and very hard to please. The food here was delicious and the staff were very respectful.
Order online the lamb tikka masala and the butter chicken, they were delicious! Will for sure pay a visit to the restaurant to eat their food again.
Great little indian restaurant for take out or dine in. The staff are very helpful and kind, and even more importantly the food is fantastic!
