Hey Noodles is a chain of casual noodle restaurants that specialize in Xiăo Miàn and originated in Chongqing, China. In the early 2000s, a Xiăo Miàn craze spread through China and the chain grew to more than 200 locations! The popularity of our food inspired us to open our first location in North America. On May 16, 2015, we opened in Toronto's vibrant Chinatown neighbourhood. Since then, we have continued to grow, opening six new locations that have been successful to the point where we get requests to open in new neighbourhoods on a daily basis. Our brand is an ambassador of Chongqing culture in North America, and we strive to treat every customer as a valued guest who wants to learn about Chinese food and culture.
This place is awesome! It’s super cheap and incredibly yummy. I went twice and ordered the vegetarian soup — there’s only one option to choose from, but I love how the spice and numbing levels are customizable. The girls who work there are very friendly, and it’s such a pleasant experience interacting with them. As for the food, I ordered the fungus in spicy sauce both times, and it was absolutely delicious. I also appreciate the variety of vegetarian appetizers available. My partner got a meat soup, and they absolutely loved it. I’ll definitely be coming back for the hot vegetarian soups, though I’d really appreciate more variety in vegetarian soup options.
I love noodles and I love the great variety that Hey Noodles offers. They offer discounts for corporate events and Group outings. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the vibe is very nice. For extra $2 on weekdays, you can order combos (adding an appetizer/dessert and a drink). We ordered “Black Fungus” and “Braised Bean Curd” for appetizer, “Minced Meat Pork with Special Hot Peppers Xiao Mian”, “Chicken and Mushroom Noodles” and “Salty Crispy Chicken with Sweet Potato Noodles” for main, and “Brown Sugar Iced Jelly” for dessert. You can choose between egg noodles, rice noodles and sweet potato noodles. You can also choose the level of spice and numbness of your meal; which is so fun. We really enjoyed our noodles and we even had leftovers to enjoy later.
When I told her my threshold for spicy food was a bit low, she offered to bring some hot sauce on the side. Thank you for this great suggestion. The place and food are great, but the staff are what make this place so special.
First time here and was really impressed! The portions were generous and food is quality. You can get unlimited noodle refills. The taste of the noodle soup is really authentic to what I used to have as a kid in China. Definitely will be back again!
Throughly impressed by this eatery. Their street noodles is one of the best I have ever had and the waitress service is on point. She’s quick and always with a smile. Definitely going again 5/5
The beef noodle has a lot of beef! The restaurant is clean and service is fast. The noodle soup has good spicy and numbing feeling, which I find quite authentic as noodle soup sold in China. The beef in the noodle is a bit cold and I want them to be warmer. Also it is a bit pricey but I guess the amount of ingredients in the noodle soup (peanuts, pickled vegetables, coriander) justifies the price.
This place is surprisingly good! I tried their beef noodle dish and it was delicious, with just the right amount of spiciness that I enjoy. The restaurant isn't very large but cozy and only accepts cash or Canadian debit cards. They do have an ATM machine in case you don't have cash on hand. The staff are friendly, attentive, and very helpful. If you're looking for a great noodle restaurant, Hey Noodles is the place to go!
One of our favourite noodle establishments in Toronto—it’s extremely cost effective with quick service and hearty meals. We love to get the $8 vegetarian Chongqing street noodles which come with unlimited refills. The portions are very generous and always consistently good.
Whoever love spicy food gotta love this place. Perfect spot for a full tummy and yummy food. I came here one and then being their regular often since then lmao.
A different experience for many things. 1. Camila served us, very pleasant, attentive, she was in charge of explaining every detail of the menu to us and recommending the numbing. The coolest thing is that he speaks Spanish 2. I ordered the extra spicy rice noodles (Mexican not spicy, promise) with porkbelly and the numbing on the side (it tasted very fragrant) to give it a different touch. If you are in China Town this place is a must
My experience at Hey Noodles was interesting to say the least. My bowl of noodles was slathered in a vat of grease that made me cough the entire meal, which at this point was the least of my worries, as the salt crispy chicken I had beforehand left me feeling scared. It had the texture of shrimp, tasted off, and included all of the colours of the random underneath the coating. It left me with uneasiness and had wondering if they snatched up pigeons from the street and threw them in the fryer.
As a fan of Hey Noodle for almost two years, I ve been addicted to the hot and sour noodles, finding it delicious and light! However, recently, it seems that the ingredients have changed. Over the past two months, I ve noticed a change in the staff in the kitchen. Previously, there was an older man and woman working there, and the taste was different! After noticing the change in flavor, I decided to give it multiple chances, but I have now confirmed that the taste has changed. It also seems like there has been a shift in the staff structure. There used to be so many customers, often packed, but now there are only a few, which seems to support my guess I hope you recognize the issue. I don t want to see you go out of business, and I don t understand why so many changes were made. For me, I will not visit it in the future, just hope my favorite Hey Noodle can return to what it was.
Super great noodles, great staff.
Ordered the pork belly noodle soup. Flavour is good but the portion is too small because even though the noodles is all you can eat, there are very few pieces of meat. With $18 there should be enough meat to fill you up and satisfy you. Noodles is just carbs and unhealthy when eaten too much. I am unimpressed by this kind of tactic used by restaurants to make you order extra meat or dishes. To be honest, the real small portion that you get is just worth $11.50.
Hey Noodles is a very good place for the portion to price ratio, it has amazing food and very nice customer service. I recommend it for people who can loves Noodles and Spicy food Wheelchair accessibility: There is a flight of stairs so it is inaccessible
Great food with a nice atmosphere and fantastic service.
Top tier broth, noodles probably couldve been a bit firmer. Also the brown sugar milk tea was elite. Wonderful cold weather spot overall
I was excited to try this place because of the good reviews but unfortunately was left disappointed. My friend and I both ordered noodle soup with the same protein. Theirs came piping hot but my soup was completely lukewarm. When I told the waitress she just stuck it in the microwave. I personally feel getting microwaved food at a restaurant is pretty unacceptable. Secondly, the waitress also claimed the spice levels were Chinese spicy but we could not taste the mild spiciness at all. We also ordered okras that were mid at best. The suan la fen was the only good part of our meal. Lastly there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom.
It was my first time there, and the ambience was good. I ve barely tried Chinese food in my life, so I had no idea about the menu and felt a bit confused. Our server, Pabina, was so kind and helpful. Since I don t eat beef and pork she recommended the egg and chicken noodles, and I also tried the chicken dumplings, which were amazing! The service was excellent. I definitely recommend this place to enjoy the best noodles with your friends.
Whenever I m craving noodle, I ll be here right away.
Ordered some vegetarian Xiao Mian noodles on September 23rd around 3:30 PM requested chili oil and numbing sauce on the side because I like my noodles with a side of fire. Got home, opened the bag, and there was no spice! Ended up eating them mild, and let s just say, it was like expecting a rollercoaster ride but getting a gentle push on a swing. Still love your service, though.
For people from Sichuan and Chongqing areas, it can be a little spicier. The waitress is very, very cute, friendly, enthusiastic, full marks!
Very Good taste but spicy
This place is aces! This is my second time eating here. I lived in China for a while and loved to visit Chongqing just for the food. This is comparable to pretty much anything you will find in restaurants or on the street. I miss the food in Sichuan terribly. Staff at Hey Noodles are always warm and accommodate requests. 6 STARS!!!
I ate with my friends at night and had diarrhea the next day. The service was very good.
The brisket is juicy and tender, milk teas are great. However, my noodles weren t mixed that well and I m pretty sure that they watered down my fiery hot as a white guy. Also took forever to get the bill at the end
We came to this restaurant with 5 people, not knowing anything about Asian cuisine and having never eaten it, the service was wonderful, there was one lady who handled everything and didnt burden anyone, I dont know how she does it but she is great at it, she copes with... everything. It was amazing that she was able to handle the entire place herself without any problems. The food was very good too. Regards
Great noodles and there is a promotion going on.
The noodles and toppings are both good. The smell of perm is step by step. But their braised eggs are the tastiest and freshest in DT.
The noodles were excellent but the fried dumplings were not worth it - lacked flavor and some came out burnt. Go for the noodles!
Not one of the staff members said Hey once. Decent noodles; good spices!
Great little noodle place. Tasty food and they even accommodated my wife who is a veggie and has MSG allergy. Really cool. The food was great and well priced too. Love the dumplings. Server was bubbly and friendly, and service was fast. Overall I would definitely come back. Vegetarian options: Veggie soup/noodle. Dietary restrictions: MSG allergy.
Great tasting food, friendly service and unlimited refills, definitely coming back again
Pretty yummy, got the signature dry noodle with minced pork
Loved the numbing spice and Chingqong street noodles.
The one I chose is slightly numb and slightly spicy, and the spiciness level is completely OK. The pea noodles are quite delicious, but the salt is a bit lighter. Adding a little more salt, spiciness and numbness will make the nutty flavor more balanced.
Atmosphere is great, alot of diners, place smells great and food is amazing. price is worth it and with the 2 dollars add on for appetizers and drinks, the weekday promo is legit. Ordered the Marinated Pork Belly Xiao Mian, with egg noodles, spicy, and mild peppercorns and it was absolutely delicious. Would recommend to all those who enjoy amazing noodles and hot broth.
Their weekday combo is such a steal!!
The Chongqing Wanzan Noodles are really good, and I also like the braised dried beans. The lady in the restaurant is very nice.
Its ok... kinda like instant noodles with homestyle pieces of chicken like my folks used to do. Although the server zapping flies in the back with an electric tennis racket was kinda distracting.
I gave the waitress a tip. and she acted like my tip was too good for her just because it was a good amount.
Amazing Noodle Bar! Authentic and Delicious!
Food has really gone downhill since the last time I ate here (2019) The chicken and mushroom broth is not nearly as good as it used to be The egg and toku skin appetizer were good though
$8 for unlimited refills and its really good! This is in July 2024. 10% cash discount too
This location has nicer decor than others, and they offer a 10% cash discount. Amazing cheap eats, everything I and my friends/family have had off the menu was great. Vegetarian options: Vegan option: Vegetable soup with rice noodle
My partner and I were returning customers and came in to use the $1 Chongqing noodles promotion. Firstly, the promotion was unusable, as the app only loaded a grey screen when we tried to redeem it, which, of course, is not at the fault of this location, however, our issues arose in the service we received during this visit. We were sitting in the restaurant for about 15 minutes trying to get the promotion to work and were entirely ignored during this time. Two other groups came in after us and immediately received water and were attended to. I even made direct eye contact with a server as he served another group that came after us, yet we were still neglected. The woman working was helpful and polite initially with instructing us on how to use the promotion and we even showed her how it was not working, expecting some sort of assistance or accommodation, however, ultimately, there was none. We were left sitting there, ignored and struggling with a dysfunctional promotion so we ended up leaving. Its really saddening because we genuinely enjoyed the food at this location but couldnt help feel discriminated. Perhaps, the promotion is a scam at the hands of head office just to draw people in, as even when we tried to load the promotion multiple days later out of interest, it said sold out, which really makes no sense. Whatever the reason was, it came from poor business practice and we will not be returning.
I came here frequently 2-3 years ago and was in the area today. I think the owners changed and this place has gone downhill. Came to eat with my toddler, who can t eat a lot, and I gave her some noodles. They have a policy where if you share one strand of noodle, they charge you for noodle refills. The chef/owner stares out from his window to see if you share, which is highly creepy. I explained that even when I come alone, I get a refill for free, but still got charged. Told the owner I won t be returning and he nonchalantly dismissed me. I feel very sorry for the waitress who works here, poor lady was trying her best but has a ridiculous boss.
Petty was an excellent server. Great food and clean place too!! We ordered the vegetarian ramen and it was delicious.
It was good. Portion was big. It can be customized for your spice.fruit tear was also delicious
The noodles here are SO good, I loved the classic dry noodle with pork and peas and the cold noodles are also amazing. BIG portions, and their spice levels are NOT for the faint of heart - always go a spice level BELOW what you think you can handle . A great cheap spot to get noodles - but don t expect a 5-star restaurant and attentive service. A simple spot in China town, but still highly recommend and def will be back LOL. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, there are narrow stairs to get to the entrance.
My friend and I came to this restaurant based on the reviews and ratings! Unfortunately, it s not worth it. The food is just OK! You can find way better food elsewhere in China Town or anywhere in DT. Staff is nice and friendly. Be aware that they only accept cash or debit.
Legendary Chongqing street noodles. If you like spicy you ll love hey noodles. Dare I say best soup noodles in town? You tell me. Delicious noodle soup needs no further explanation. Dietary restrictions: You chose your level of spice, how much numbing peppercorn, seeds no seeds etc Parking: It s Chinatown, you can figure it out with Google maps Kid-friendliness: They can make it mild but it can be a little salty if they re not used to it. Perfect opportunity to introduce them to Chongqing street noodles
The taste of the food is very disappointing. Almost watery broth. I wonder how they got so many good reviews the service was good and fast. the taste was mediocre at best. Also, not sure why they accept only cash but charge tax.
Its a place to eat...the service is okay, but the taste is bad. There are many restaurants for foreigners in Chinatown, so you can understand it yourself.
The unlimited noodles are amazing and the staff are super nice. The prices are very good as well
After getting over the hotness (we untrained Germans simply died at first) very, very good food. The service person was very nice. Try the dry noodles! Vegetarian options: Vegan or vegetarian options are good. Only criticism: some protein like tofu would be nice.
Their egg noodles are really good! The meat lovers noodles are enough to just keep filling noodles and take home the leftover meat for another meal. Great service, even if the place itself isnt super pretty.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. The highlight (or should I say lowlight) of the evening was the utterly inedible greasy noodles that were served to me. From the moment the plate arrived at my table, it was evident that something was terribly wrong. The noodles were drowning in a pool of oil, forming an unappetizing slick that clung to each strand. The texture was a bizarre combination of slimy and mushy, as if they had been soaked in grease for hours on end. The flavor was equally disastrous. Instead of the delicate balance of spices and sauces one expects from a good noodle dish, all I could taste was the overwhelming presence of rancid oil. It was as if the chef had mistaken a bottle of cooking oil for a seasoning, resulting in a dish that was more akin to an oil spill than a culinary creation. I attempted to salvage the meal by dabbing the noodles with a napkin to absorb some of the excess grease, but it was a futile effort. The more I tried to remedy the situation, the more apparent it became that these noodles were beyond redemption. To make matters worse, the service was lackluster, with staff appearing indifferent to the fact that they were serving a subpar dish. It was clear that the kitchen had no regard for quality control, and the lack of concern from the staff only added insult to injury. Overall, my experience at Hey Noodles was nothing short of a greasy nightmare. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining here to steer clear unless they have a penchant for inedible, oily concoctions. Save your taste buds and your stomach the trauma, and choose a restaurant that values the art of cooking over cutting corners.
A nice little hidden gem we recently discovered , we always walked past it. The spice levels were good! The drinks are also great, very well priced too! Definitely check it out . Food : 5/5
Hey noodles has become my favourite spot!! Their sesame dry noodles is the best in both locations _Mississauga and Dundas, Toronto. The online ordering system through barcode is really convenient and they do provide fast service. Also, it was a great pleasure to meet and served by my fellow nepali sister at the Hey noodles, Dundas! Will come back for sure!!!
The noodle is very tasty, reasonable priced, they have free re-fill which is unheard of , the waitress is very friendly. The atmosphere is not the best thou. Over all 9.5 out of 10.
Nice noodle and wonderful service
Big portion yummy food good price lamb noodle excellent value! my daughter and my self like this place
Good veggie options- loved the braised bean curd and the vegetarian street noodles. They recycle chopsticks here too. Thanks for caring for the environment
Delicious Noodles! Generous portions! Tasty!
So delicious!! The broth was so rich and tasteful and the pork belly was so yummy, tender and juicy. I would recommend this place to anyone, also the servings are huge!!
Cheap noodles. Great food.
Surprised by the ratings for this place. Noodles are mediocre at best. Broth lacked depth of flavor and the noodles were overcooked. The cucumber salad also needed to be soaked longer - flavors weren t fully developed yet. I think most of the ratings for this place are more about value for money. I couldn t even finish half the noodles in my bowl though so unlimited noodle refills isn t an enticing offer.
I saw Hey Noodles mentioned somewhere online and Ive passed by there a week ago. So today I planned on going there because I was feeling like eating Chinese, since yknow its Chinese new year. I checked the menu and the photos looked GOOD. I already knew I wanted the marinated belly pork ribs noodles and some side of pan fried dumplings. The photos on Google maps were mouth watering. I go to the place and the vibe was kinda run down. No biggy, I say. I came for the food anyway. The food arrived. The meat and the noodles were okay, but the taste of cilantro was a bit too overpowering. I was eating for the sake of eating. The dumplings arrived and Im pretty sure they were steamed and not pan fried. I tried drinking the broth but all I could taste is pepper. To top it off, they take only cash or debit. My senses were flooded with disappointment. I was holding back my tears and refraining from running away in disappointment. Thanks for ruining my Chinese new year! Jokes aside, the portion was huge and supposedly they have free noodles refill, but I wouldve taken quality over quantity.
I used to love this place but i found the food quality has gone down over the years. I used to love the dry noodles with pork but the past 2 times it has tasted worse
Heeeey noodles! This is a great place with amazing flavor, quality and price. The menu is small but you can customize it. If you come hungry the dish sizes will fill you out and if you are still hungry they have noodles refill... Come and give it a try and a nice tip!
Good portions, rich flavor on a budget
I came on a Thursday evening at around 7pm and didnt have to wait for a table of 2. I ordered the noodles with tomato and beef brisket. Great portions, but I wasnt a fan of the soup. I found it a bit too sour and prefer something more savory. Would recommend and come back to try other dishes.
The dry egg noodle was good here, however the rice noodles in the soup were overbooked which was a bit disappointing. Service was amazing!
service so bad
Very good customer service. The food is great
The Soy Sauce noodles were heavenly and filling! The beef was perfectly cooked - one of the best Chinese places Ive been to
Amazing Noodles. Don t miss it and be careful with spicy.
Very delicious noodles, super clean establishment, 100% recommended!!!
My friends and I tried the Vegan Xiaomian, Chicken dumplings (Ive had better), Salty Crispy Chicken Xiaomian (pretty okay) and the Sichuan Style Beef Brisket (I loved it). They are absolutely not kidding about the spice when they say fiery hot and numbing. My friends couldnt finish their bowls after a point and my brisket bowl was at a mild and no numbing chillies, but it was still a little spicy for me.
this place was so good i would definitely come again!! i got one of the choose your own noodles and the pork and chive dumplings and they were like soup dumplings i would definitely come back just for those!
Staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely will be coming back here in the future.
Freshly prepared food. Authentic Sichuan style and fusion noodles.
Great noodle place with unlimited noodle refills! The noodle (with or without soup) are very tasty and customizable with different choices of noodles and toppings. Service was very fast too!
WoW very good fast and good atmosphere
I gave 5 stars when I visited 4 years ago. I was very impressed. This was my original review: Cleanest washroom in Chinatown. Friendly service. Food tastes authentic. Yesterday, I was passing by this place and I was excited to go in. I was extremely disappointed. The noodles were not authentic at all. Their so-called Chongqing Noodles should be rebranded as Thai Noodles. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to change my review back to 5 stars when I revisit the restaurant.
Sesame noodles!! Very filling and satisfying!!
Delicious noodles, rich soup, lots of toppings. Once you finish the noodles, youll get a free refill.
Best value in town and very delicious food. Several vegetarian options as well. Unlimited noodle refills. With prices going up like crazy everywhere, this is my go-to for value. Staff are friendly and speak English too. Orders can be made very spicy or what they call numbing for people that love spicy food. I also come here for lunch take out sometimes.
Portion is super big, definitely enough for an adult. Add extra noodle is free. Taste and flavour are fine but not impressive.
Lovely service great noodles most authentic Chengqing Xiaomian in GTA The servers deserve a good raise for sure Recommended dishes
Excellent excellent noodles!! Delicious!
not the best experience. The waitress was working literally alone, noodles were not tasty, fried dumpling horrible + quite expensive for the quality...
They made me pay twice even tho I told her it went in the first time. They basically scammed me Vegetarian options: Didn t like it
It s a gorgeous place to eat lunch or dinner. I tried the noodle. You have the option to select your own ingredients. In terms of payment, they just accept debit and cash.
Food was quite good. I would recommend getting fiery broth as spicy is not very spicy. The egg noodles are also much better than the rice noodles. The drink I got, peach soda I believe, was very, very good. Price is ok. Portion is ok.
got the beef brisket. it was good. they have noodle refills as well but the proportions are big and enough for one person to finish.
Not the traditional Taiwan flavour, too salty and not juicy. So disappointed
The service was great. Portions are big. It s saltier than what expected.
The noodle is good you can pick the type of noodles you want and how spicy you want it to be. It s just a bit pricy with only two pieces of pork belly which also had a lot of fat and tastes okay to me. The environment and decorations are nice.
They have gluten free options for noodles! I had the sweet and sour potato noodles. They also have vegetarian broth. The beef brisket was very fresh and tender. Fresh flavours too. This place is good.
No wait. The noodle soup was huge and delicious. Will definitely return for other dishes.
When i eat this minced pork and pea soup with spicy hot level and no numbing - I feel stronger and more capable. It is delicious. A little cold by the door so go right in. The server is outstanding.
Small little dining place. Quick service and clean. The best part is one can refill their noodles. Quantity is too good for one person. Their make your own noodle bowl is great! We also tried the dry noodles with fried salty chicken which was good. Would definitely recommend coming and trying it out!
Very average noodles Nothing special about this place Recommended dishes
Good food good service Noodles can be refilled for free Excellent Noodles restaurant Dumplings are also tasty Recommended dishes
Thanks for serving rotten chicken and telling me it s the seasoning
Delicious noodles
This restaurant denied me service because of my service animal. She is a specifically trained diabetic alert dog and was clearly identified in a vest. This restaurant is not AODA compliant and would rather close the restaurant than serve me.
Great food and service! You can basically order anything and they are all good! P.S. recommend to start with mild spicy, if you want to try spicy but don t wanna go too far Food
The broth for this noodle soup was outstanding. If I lived close by, I would return multiple times each week for what was the most delicious noodle soup I have had in a long time. I shared the brisket soup bowl which was plentiful and yummy dumplings. Friendly staff. Clean. Good, efficient service.
A nice Noodle place! The atmosphere is okay. I loved their Lamb Noodles bowls!
Came here to grab a light snack so I ordered a regular fruit tea, wonton soup and spicy cucumbers and tofu skin. Everything tasted so delicious and savoury. If you can t take spice, I recommend getting everything in mild otherwise, be ready to numb your mouth. Our waitress was also very nice, food came 6-7 minutes after we ordered and she gave us a whole jug of water (good thing because it was so hot today). Pros: Free WiFi, unlimited noodles refill and the broth was AMAZING. Not too heavy and not too salty. Cons: Debit or cash only.
Very fast service but the broth is too salty. Even mild spicy is really spicy. Cash or debit only.
Tried their egg noodles with veggies and chicken dumplings. Both dishes had decent portions and were delicious. Service was nice. Found the place cute. Would love to try their other dishes!
The beef brisket noodles were horrible. The soup was just super hot and not flavorful but most of all there was hardly any beef. It was filled with beef fat? Where are the actual beef chunks? Not visiting again.
Love being able to change the spice and numbness levels, Sichuan peppercorn with max numbness is the best. Great service, good prices. Cash and debit only
Had the beef brisket and pork belly bowls with side cucumber and dumplings. Also had a passion fruit lime drink. Delicious bowls and perfect spice. The atmosphere was very nice. Just get the mild if youre looking for good spice because any spicier is too spicy. Great meat portions and overall good service. Will be back again.
One of the best places to get filling, flavourful, delicious, comforting chinese noodles. Mild numbing and mild spicy is already a kick, and the egg noodle are soft, chewy, and delicious. The meat is so good, quite a bit of fat but that s still so delicious. Very very very filling. The broth is so intense, I love it. Plus, unlimited noodle refills!!!!!! I recommend to finish the noodles first, some meats then get a refill of the noodles, then finish everything off including the meat. Then you basically get really really realllyyyy delicious bowls of noodles. Ugh such a comfort food I love it. And the fried chicken is ohhhhh sooooo goood, juicy tender and so flavourful!!! My favourite part has to be the eggs though. The soy sauce eggs (comes with noodles but we got extra) were SO GOOD. I loved every bit of this meal. Highly recommend coming here!!!! Reasonably priced for how much food you get!
Thankfully this location was open at 9:30 on a Saturday night! After two failed attempts to eat at other places in Chinatown, we arrived and were quickly seated. The server was polite and once we decided on what to eat, took our orders. The food arrived quickly and we dove in. I had the Jingdian Mian noodles with stewed chicken and mushrooms. It was filling. The mushrooms had the right amount of chewiness and the chicken, on the bone, added flavour to the broth. The egg noodles were satisying. The others ordered Wonton soup with added egg noodles and Szechuan Style Beef Brisket with egg noodles. Everyone left with a full tummy.
So, we were denied service because of our service dog. Seems the same situation happened exactly one week ago... First time is 7 years did a restaurant did this to us. There are laws against discrimination. This is not over.
It s fine, nothing special
Great place to eat. Very clean. Loved the food. The menu seemed very simple but the food is amazing . Loved the noodles with peanut butter.
Best in town! Great service and food. I can highly recommend Dry noodle with minced pork.. also you may have unlimited refill for noodles :)
I love this place. Around $15 for a create your own noodle but the portions were really big so me and my friend shared one. We got the crispy chicken. The chicken was a bit off but the broth was delicious. There s unlimited refills but it only refills the noodles. The waiter was super nice. The restaurant was super clean. Overall great place.
Overall, this place was really good and they had pretty good service. The waiter seemed very stressed and a bit overworked but very kind. But despite that, it was a very great place and the food was delicious. P.S Don t get the crispy chicken because it doesn t taste like chicken. And if you plan on getting a refill, keep your broth because the free refills were just for the noodles.
Great place to go for a cheap bowl of delicious, filling noodles. You can adjust the spiciness/numbing level and there are vegan options too. Make sure to bring cash (free drink if you pay over $20 in cash) or a Canadian debit card because they dont take any credit cards and its really expensive to use the ATM in the restaurant.
My go-to noodle place. I personally really enjoy the numbing spice, but I could see how it might not for everyone, especially if you re not used to it. I highly recommend the build your own with pork belly. They also give unlimited noodle refill so don t worry about not being full.
Had the dry noodle with scrambled eggs and tomato. I love the noodle, it s egg noodle. But the scrambled eggs and tomato topping is way too salty
I ve both dined in and ordered. I really like the lamb noodles and the pork belly noodles. However, there was one incident where me and my friends were going to pay and the waitress already selected the tip percentage for us. I think it should be left up to the customer to decide. Or put a sign saying dining in is subject to gratuity. But I love the food here.
Worth the money 100%
Cozy establishment known for their unlimited noodle refills. I got the house special pork belly noodle soup, it was quite flavourful, but the meat portion was a bit small for the price. Nonetheless, with the free noodle refills, its a guarantee you will be full!
I ordered two recommended items from the menu (noodles and snacks). They were very unpalatable. The meat was very stale and had a strong fishy smell. Especially the snack salted crispy chicken was very small, very expensive, and unpalatable. Moreover, there were also other items on the menu. There is false propaganda (infinite continuation)! I came here with a few friends and wanted to try the taste first, so I ordered a bowl of mushroom chicken noodles and a portion of salted crispy chicken. Mushroom chicken noodles, the chicken is very unpalatable, the ingredients are very poor, it is frozen, the smell is quite strong, and it must have been stored for a long time; the noodles and soup are okay, but the soup is on the light side. Salted Crispy Chicken, just a small butterfly, actually charges eight yuan? ! It s really just an appetizer, right? I cried. This store could obviously rob me, but it actually gave me Xiaodie Salt Crispy Chicken! The chicken is similar to that in chicken noodles, very unpalatable, the only thing thats okay is that its crispy. I was almost finished with the noodles, and I originally wanted to add a bowl of noodles, but the waiter said it would cost extra. I thought: No, doesn t it say wireless refills on the menu? Why do you need to add another two dollars? The waiter replied that since the three of you are sharing the meal, you have to pay extra. Im speechless. If I come alone and order a bowl of noodles, can t I add noodles? This is clearly false propaganda! If you say that I can only add noodles once and cannot add more noodles, I would be a little more accepting of it, but you won t even be allowed to add noodles once! Why isnt this rule written on the menu? What a scam! In general, this restaurant is not cheap. The portions of noodles and snacks are small and unpalatable. The menu is very shabby. The environment and the service attitude of the waiters are not bad. But why cant you speak Chinese? Do you really know this? The rating is too high, 4.6 stars? I think its about 2.6 stars. It tastes terrible. Its really flashy. Just call it black noodles. The noodles are black and small, and they are falsely advertised! It tastes terrible, no wonder there is no business. I will never eat here again! Highly not recommended!
Awesome food; properly spicy
Excellent food and good service
The food is absolutely amazing! Vegetarian options: Egg noodles, vegan broth, fried egg, tofu skin slices in tasty sauce, okra, wood ears, cucumbers Food : 5/5 |
We ordered the chicken ones trying to go for something that was good and they served spoiled chicken that literally tasted old and was purple, it seems unreasonable to me to serve chicken like that, it even smelled, There was no point in saying anything if they had taken the audacity to serve chicken like this considering the health damage it can cause. Appalling
Chengdu cold noodles on the roster if I had 24 hours left to live
Noodles average, nothing special and not amazing.
They nailed the spicy x numbing flavor profile. Can request more noodles for free, worth it.
Not a place u go for a fabulous atmosphere, but its 100% a 5 place for noodles at a great price
I went there tonight with my friend, the noodle was great however I was thrown off by the waitress worked there. I was going to pay and pack my food away as there s more than half bowl of noodles left with broth and meat, however the waitress started to clean up without asking my permission. When I told her I needed to pack my food, she said I did not tell her earlier. She proposed to me that I could order another bowl with payment. There s no compensation nor apology for her behaviour. I was doing waitress before and was told to always ask customer when there s left over to see if they need to pack up or not. What I experienced today make my dinner an unpleasant one with hungry stomach. Customer services are not supposed to be this attitude without seeking for any solution!!I hope the service could taste the same as their noodles. Besides I m looking for anyone reaching out to me as well for compensation. I m now regretting so much for the payment with tips!
Really liked the noodles, best mala taste for vegetarian Ive found - customizable spice and numbing levels were great. My partner enjoyed the szechuan beef and was surprised at how much of it there was. I wonder what the service was like for other reviewers though - on seating, our server apologized about a potential wait as a large table arrived ahead of us, and it was the fastest and most attentive service weve had in the city yet. Would recommend with no fear!
Nice & reasonably priced place to have a great plate or bowl of noodles. If you don t like spicy food, get the mild option and spicy oil on the side to try before you mix.
Sechuan beef noodle soup, very delicious!
One of the best noodles I had
The taste is okay, but its a bit expensive. The coriander is too big and the temperature is not good. Its still warm when I go there immediately. There are no cutlery or paper towels for takeout. My sister is very enthusiastic.
not that delicious
Unlimited refills + delicious noodles! A must try location that opens late at night. Meat and soup tasted amazing too. Limited seating inside but not super busy 10/10
Got the minced pork with peas noodle soup, it was the best thing ever. It was a staff favorite, so valid honestly. Unlimited noodles refill is a plus too. Portions are fair and prices too. Overall love~
My boyfriend and I recently tried Hey Noodles based on positive reviews, but the food was just okay for me due to an aftertaste in the broth. Also, be cautious with the spiciness level because when its labeled as spicy, it truly is spicy. On the bright side, the service was great; the server was very attentive.
good food poor service
The beef noodles are the best and sweet potato noodles are amazing if you need a gluten free option. Gotta have a little spicr and numbing to keep it authentic :) Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
We came with high expectations given the high rating on Google, but the food was disappointing. We tries 3 types of soups with 3 different noodles and 2 dry noodles dishes. Nothing was awful, but it just was very mediocre.
Cold dish Tofu is bad, noodles are overcooked. I can make better noodles at home instead of getting charged for expired and overcooked food.
Top notch service the noodles were very tasty. I caution you when they say spicy its very spicy whewwww i was sweating back there i usually cant handle spice but this was next level. I do love spice in my food delivers a kick. Would def return i tried their vegan noodles it was actually really delish and the grapefruit drink was delish too. My new spot. To come.
You will love it if you prefer spicy food.
Got the classic dry noodle with minced pork & peas, with Szechuan style beef brisket (which comes on the side), cilantro, green onion, peanuts and shredded cucumber... that beef brisket is super tender, it just melts in your mouth! Each bite was full of flavour. My favourite noodle spot!
Chinese take on noodle soup, custom make the perfect bowl of hot soup with unlimited noodles. We personally love the numbing sensation from sichuan peppercorns and the broth was flavourful!! SOOOO GOOOD!!!!! I write a blog about eating around the world in Toronto, and this place has fantastic Chongqing Street Food. Really nice place for a casual bite or something quick for takeout. Wait times are very short and the dishes are very delicious. Definitely get bang for your buck in terms of quantity and portions. The staff are really nice and helpful with giving recommendations and suggestions. The signature noodles where you can build your own dish are nice and convenient. I would recommend the noodles with the peanut based sauce or the sesame paste base. You get to choose what to have in the bowl from multiple different meat and vegetable options. I had one of each and added in pork and beef brisket respectively - both good, but peanut base was a definite highlight. Veggies include cabbage, lettuce shreds, cucumber shreds and green onion. The chicken dumplings were decent, and the cucumber salad is a nice refreshing vegetable option.
Great noodles- generous portions
Amazing food for amazing price!!
Wi-Fi, reasonable price and taste, good location
Grew up in Chongqing, I d say the food here is decent enough, but no where near the authentic chongqing spicy food. Also, they use disposable bowls for dine in customers. This doesn t look good environmentally and psychologically.
Super yummy
Awesome place. Great flavour. Great portions. You ll leave full and content. Worth the money.
good nood at good price
Love their Chongqing noodles
Love this place! Nothing bad to say. Great food, great staff, great prices! What more can you ask for?
The server do not know what to do. She keep taking online and phone order even though there are more than 2 customers waiting for her.
WORST PLACE EVER!!!!!! BIG 00000 Horrible experience at this place, I went for dinner last night ordered noodles soup they made pork broth when we I asked to change it to veggie broth because I did not ask for pork broth they said no we can not if you want it still pay for it and place another order. I got agree to pay for first order and asked them if the try can pack food, server came out said we don t have to pay for previous order but we can not make another order! So they are telling there customers that they don t want to take order from there customers.
Unlimited noodles when you eat in and order the soup options! I have a low spice tolerance and found that mild spice and no numbing works well for me.
Best noodle joint in Toronto!
My to-go place if I want the sour & spicy sweet potato noodles, delicious food and snacks! Staff are nice and food delivered fast
Good noodles and good prices
My favorite place to eat noodles, Ive been there many times and coming back, now I took my boyfriend there, also he loved it
Easy, charming, cheap and delicious. Always a great experience, staff are so nice. Noodles are consistently good.
It is was a surprisingly tasty experience. I definitely recommend this place for those looking for a clean and budget-friendly restaurant around Chinatown. The down size, it is not accessible-friendly.
One of the best wonton soups and noodles I have had in the city.
This is a great place. Whether a friend was leaving, coming back, or celebrating, I always had this place in mind. It became a go-to place, because it s not really something we make often (if at all) at home. I always like getting the noodle refills. Maybe it s just me, but I remember it being spicier and number before, when they had the ceramic bowls. Still tastes great, though. Very filling, but it always hurt when I emptied my bladder later, perhaps due to the capsaicin content. (Maybe don t drink all the broth, including the pepper seeds )
Big chunk melted plastic in beef brisket ramen. Regular customers, food usually delicious. Tried to blame central food shipper when chef is responsible for food safety. Got one of two briskets waived price. Usually my favorite noodle place.
I had the spicy xiaomian soup with peanut and sesame paste. Couldnt really taste the sesame and soup and noodles were a little bland. The pork rib cuts were unfortunatelt very bony and dry. The mango slush was delicious though and the establishment was clean, service pretty good.
Free refill nodle. Soup taste is amazing.I like it.
so easy to pass this place by like i did for years what a mistake. GREAT FOOD AND FRESH INGREDIENTS. portion sizes 10 out of 10. always surprised by the large amount of protein in every dish i order. not a fan of the sweet sour yam noodles, but everything else is a must try, especially the okra appetizer!
The noodles are delicious and the spice level is very authentic. This location is great for takeout but dining in is a hit or miss depending on the servers working. I stopped dining in after a particularly bad experience where the restaurant wasnt busy and we asked to order but one of the waitresses kept doing other stuff (cleaning tables, taking walk-in takeout orders, etc) before finally taking our orders; the order also took a very long time to prepare (the walk-in takeout people for their orders before us despite showing up after us). I only get takeout here now.
