Bringing the Mollusc to the Masses since 1987!
One of the best seafood and oyster restaurants in Toronto. It is my go to alongside Island Oysters. Don’t miss out on their cooked seafood. The crab cakes are damn good and are absolutely packed with crab meat. Scallops both grilled and live are always amazing. They had a Peruvian chowder on their lunch menu that was also incredible; creamy, hearty with a nice kick. Oysters of course come fresh and delicious. You really don’t need any sauce to enjoy them, just a squeeze of lemon. Always enjoy the west coast oysters, which are super fresh and briney. The hybrid variety were also a nice surprise.
Came here with friends for oysters and beers! It was our first time here, place was pretty steady for a Sunday. Our server was very helpful and informative, we got a variety of oysters - all unique and flavourful. Really enjoyed our experience, would definitely come back and recommend this spot to others!
I came here for a dinner with friends and Rodney’s Oyster house never disappoints. The service and food was great. We started off with some oysters and I prefer east coast in general and the oysters were fresh and they had an assortment of toppings. We also ordered different mains and I really liked the feature menu main they had. We had some minor issues and felt that the server and manager resolved it well. I really recommend this place for seafood. The live seafood menu is market price and they will bring it to your table prior to cooking. I also like the atmosphere and indoor decor. You should check out the wall art in the bathrooms.
Came for a business lunch here mid week. Rodney's had a great selection of Oysters, clams and fish both hot and cold options. Food was delicious, portions were great and overall the service was fantastic. Raw Seafood options were fresh, not fishy and chilled to perfection. Lobster Roll and Seafood Chowder are a must. Visit, Eat, Drink, Endulge!
Been coming here for years and they never fail to disappoint. If you want fresh delicious oysters, this is the place to go. They always have a decent variety that changes daily. They have their regular stables, but they also have a daily, ever changing menu, so there's always something new to try!
A great spot for craving oysters! We loved the east coast oysters. They were clean and slightly chewy. However, it's a bit pricier compared to other places. The clam chowder was good, and while the mains were fine, we had to wait 40 minutes for them. Overall, highly recommended for oyster lovers.
Came here tonight and had a great meal. Started with oysters. Our server, Court, was terrific. He made great recommendations like the wine and oysters. They serve the oysters with lots of yummy sauces and accompaniments. We also had the New England clam chowder and lobster. Both were done well. I’d eat here again.
Rodney's Oyster House exceeded our expectations with its fresh seafood and lively atmosphere. We indulged in a delightful array of oysters, crab, lobster, and crab cakes, each dish bursting with flavor and freshness. The oysters were impeccably shucked and paired perfectly with the house sauces. The crab and lobster were succulent and cooked to perfection. The crab cakes were a standout, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. To complement our meal, we enjoyed expertly crafted Caesars that added just the right kick. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. Rodney's Oyster House is a must-visit for any seafood lover.
Another great meal with friends. 75 oysters, branzino, scallops, and key lime pie. All outstanding.
Best oysters in the city; NO other oyster place even comes close to comparing.. and I ve been to quite a lot. Rodney s is of the few places that actually carry good quality west coast oysters instead of just basic east coast ones; also not to mention amazing service everytime! Wish I lived downtown, I d be here way more often!
This place blew me away!! I came in from Waterloo looking for a place to eat after visiting the aquarium and Rodney s did not disappoint! Our server was so kind and friendly and the food was great. I ordered: - New England Clam Chowder (10/10!! Love clam chowder) - 10 assorted oysters (the server helped me pick an assortment of 2x5 different types of oysters - Bigelow from Maine was so yummy and they even let us keep the shell and provided a box for us to take it home in haha. The variety of sauces for toppings was great too!) - and pictured below: Smokers Platter for 2, Brown Crab Leg, and a Lobster roll I will say that the lobster roll maybe wasn t worth the $43 I paid for it because I m actually not the biggest fan of lobster and it was just a little bit too chewy for my liking, but the bread was so good though! Altogether though, great way to spend my paycheck
Awesome place and great staff
Always great. Good food, good service, likely to meet new and old friends. Still a great place after many years,
One of the best places to get oysters in downtown Toronto. Friendly, casual set up.
Very good fresh oysters and lobsters, but be prepared to pay for the quality! Amazing service, warm vibe.
Great place staff were all very friendly and food was delicious
Family dinner! Absolutely amazing time with great food and service.
This is an absolute gem for oyster lovers! The selection is fantastic, with a great variety of fresh oysters. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations. I can t wait to come back!
Food is great, tasty, and fresh. Service is good too. I like the seafood pasta so much and wish the portion could be bigger. My friend has treated me twice here for my birthday. If there was some special stuff for birthday that d be awesome.
Freshest oysters and great selection.
Oysters were great. But the pan fried oysters killed!!! Service is on point. Friendly and always looking out. Great casual spot for Oysters. Have liquor but no mixed drinks. A dirty martini would have been great but they don t have it.
It s a very cozy and authentic place with delicious dishes. The oysters were especially good. Highly recommended from our side!
We had a great lunch here.
We went here for our friends 50th birthday so we had ordered a cake and let them know upon reserving our table that we were celebrating. Our first server wasnt the best unfortunately. We felt judged when ordering wine and drinks for the table. The server stopped me and said I think thats enough which was really off-putting. We werent intoxicated or disorderly at all so it was taken as quite a rude comment. Maybe a misunderstanding but still darkened the mood. She was replaced later by a much nicer server (Chante) who saved the day when the first server went home. The oysters were excellent, as anticipated given the name of the place. The mains were very underwhelming. I had scallops with (strangely) spinach and mushrooms. It wasnt a great pairing. My wifes vegetarian option pasta was very small in portion size and didnt taste great. Based on our experience, we wont be going back. We spent $600 and tipped well for a table of 5 but the food, lack of planned extras (birthday cake) and initial service wasnt worth that price at all. 3 stars for Chante. 2 for the initial server. 4 stars for the oysters. 3 stars for the food and ambience. 3 stars overall. A Toronto institution that seems like its resting on laurels achieved long ago.
Great service as always. Expensive but a fun experience. They let my daughter pick out her own lobster
I went for my 40th birthday! It was epic! Thanks to the beautiful server and chef!
It was delicious but very expensive
Dropped by to have a little wine and oysters. Oysters are coming from East, West and Europe. Many choices. The place is much bigger than it looks from outside. Its very nice atmosphere.
Great oysters and even better staff!
I enjoyed plenty of seafood, oysters, and clam chowder, and the taste was spot on! The restaurant was spacious with friendly staff. Although it was still a chilly night in May when we went the atmosphere inside made me feel like I was by the seaside, warming both my heart and body
Nice location, fantastic service, and the scallop ceviche and lobster roll was also great
dont miss this hidden gem!
Our dining experience was absolutely amazing. The last time we were at Rodney s, it was on Jarvis Street. The oysters and chowder were the best we ve ever had, and we have been all over the world. The only thing better than the food was our server, Mason. He sincerely makes you feel like you re all family and and he made a great Birthday celebration for my wife, so much better. There are a lot of places to eat in Toronto however we will never go anywhere else for seafood as no one else can match Rodney s!!!!
Service was so sad it ruined the food. Well maybe I would have a better opinion of the food if they ever came back to take my order after the appetizers which were horrible. Dont bother coming here with a large group. Mandatory 18% gratuity but deserves 0%..
We must have had 100s of oysters since we started coming here a few years ago, and it s been great every time. Service is quick and waitstaff are very attentive and friendly, oysters are fresh, and the selection is quite large and changes frequently, so there are always new oysters to try. Only knock would be the main course options are a little limited, although they do usually have a special for some variety. Still an easy recommend if you love oysters and seafood.
Oysters were fresh and clean, the food was outstanding and the service was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will return.
One of, if not, the best joint in the city to grab a great selection of fresh oysters.
3 days in Toronto and 3rd dinner in this wonderful place! There are few places in the world with such authentic cuisine, here everything is consistent and the food is Best of the best
Oysters made me very sick, they do not seem to follow health guidelines
Celebrating anniversary- Great atmosphere , service and of course the oysters were delicious- the big surprise was the dessert- sticky toffee pudding- best dessert I ve had ..ever , okay, next to cherries jubilee
So unpretentious. The clam chowder and Cajun crab soups were delicious! The oysters were spectacular too! And, the tangy-sweet key lime pie was perfect! I highly recommend.
I knew I always wanted to go to Rodneys but now I know why... I reached out a month in advance to book a big surprise birthday venue for the closest 40 of our family and friends and with Bronwens experienced planning (and boat racing leadership!), I got exactly what I needed without knowing exactly what I wanted. Communication was smooth, easy and quick. I was able to make all the changes I needed, when I needed. Thank you! The hosting staff was exceptional and we felt a connection right away. Family and friends were talking about the entire staff that went above and beyond, like Deion. I want to thank everyone involved! My guests were made to feel at home and very comfortable - I knew we were in good hands for the evening. Thank you! Everyone had so much fun, especially those out of their usual comfort zones. Rodneys went so far as to make getting there easier, including sendings emails and texts warning customers of the best way to get there during a time of road maintenance. The seating area felt private without feeling cut off from the party of the entire restaurent. There was even a private bar for our use. I brought in a dessert and forgot the candles but I didn t even ask and was surprised when they used sparklers!! Everything about the space was well thought out. I was able to customize a fixed menu for the group - there was choice enough for all and the food satisfied every taste and desire! Caesars, oysters, apps, lobster rolls, choice of courses! Everything was delicious. Did I mention the oyster boat race of the evening?! We knew we had interest in the group beforehand but it worked out so much better than we expected. All eyes on the race...cheering...not one person was in their seat! Trust me, ask about this. Would definitely recommend Rodneys for a group setting of any size, from two... to too-many! Enjoy!
A must visit for seafood lovers, in my opinion!
The food is great! We always get the oysters. If you are looking for oysters get them here instead of St Lawrence. The sucking is much better and the selection is amazing. I have good and atmosphere 5 stars. I come here once a month. The service is a bit uptight.
By far my favourite oyster house in Canada!! Unfortunately I m in a wheelchair now and can t get down their stairs. Fantastic service, the very best oysters and I miss them dearly. Food : 5/5
Fantastic seafood!! Best ceviche & scallops Ive ever had. :). Do not miss this place. Oysters were divine as well, but Im blown away by the ceviche. Uncomparable. Waiters were lovely & offered great advice/recommendations. This was a meal fit for king & we will for sure be returning!!
oysters are gross, and they have a roach problem.
watched a server flick a cockroach off a table. will be avoiding.
Had such a great time here Tuesday evening! Our server was kind and patient walking us through the whole menu. We had oysters, lobster roll, crab cakes, tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail and key lime pie. My favourite was the tuna tartare and the crab cakes. The space is cozy and quirky, made us totally forget that we were on king st. I love all the personal additions to the space, you can tell everyone here cares.
Amaaaaaaazing food and super cools staff, its a five hour drive one way; worth it!
I had a great time with my parents thanks to the friendly service. It was nice to be able to eat a variety of oysters. In particular, the soup was plentiful and delicious, perfect for the chilly weather. The price is reasonable. I recommend it. I had a great time with my parents for the kind service It was nice to have various kinds of oysters Especially, the soup was large and delicious, so it went well with the chilly weather The price is reasonable. I recommend it
Place is a dump.
Crab cakes were delicious, potato wedges crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service was great
I ve never been here. I was treated like I came every week. The staff is attentive. The drinks menu lacks some cocktails, but the wine and beer more than make up for it. Patrons are friendly too. Great place. Sorry this is my first time.
Rodrys is an absolute gem located in the heart of Old Town, nestled in a vibrant and trendy area that perfectly complements its lively atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted by a chic, hip vibe that makes it the perfect spot for a night out. The food here is nothing short of phenomenal, with the seafood being a standout. The lobster and clams are to die for fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each dish is a testament to the quality and creativity of the kitchen, making Rodrys a must-visit for any seafood lover. Adding to the experience is the fantastic hip-hop playlist that sets the perfect backdrop for your meal. Rodrys isn t just a restaurant; it s an experience. Whether youre a local or just visiting, this is a must-see place that should be at the top of your list.
Such an atmospheric place and keeps its authenticity for a long time. Great chill place to sit inside, in the garden or at the bar. Great stuff and STUNNING oysters. East Coast forever Clean washrooms, a bit dark inside, but very authentic.
Oysters are always amazing, service has always been lovely and Im a big fan of the smokers platter:)
Everything and everyone was phenomenal
If you want to eat oysters, you must first think about where the berth is. There are many choices for oysters Both soups are very delicious The straps are big The big clam is not big enough
I tried oysters for the first time. Their sauces had such flavor that the experience was one to talk about. We had an oyster tray with 3 types of oysters. I was amazing. And the service is with a smile. Great staff. Shout to Sean at the bar. Hes a genuine guy.
Birthdayyyy Pieeee from Rodney s!! FAVOURITE seafood joint in Toronto! Now our GO-TO for a birthday pie!
Great service, very friendly staff, good food will come again
Have wanted to try this place for years!!!! Absolutely did not disappoint. Amazing oysters definitely defer to your servers suggestions. East coast were superior to west coast options
Amazing selection, great food and even better service. Court was awesome and gave us a great experience. Will be coming back.
Great place, loved the decor. Food was outstanding, oysters, and the service was great!
A renovation is needed. The menu needs to be updated. However, the service was very good. Theyre better in the city.
Fun atmosphere, we sat at the bar. Wonderful selection of oysters! This was our first trip to Toronto and a friend suggested Rodneys. We ate here twice it was SO good. We recommend reservations for the dining room.
Our server was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The oysters were delicious and loved the sauce options. Loved the Fiona s Fury oysters. Would come back again!
Love the place, the oysters are great and the staff are nice! Only gave it 4 stars as the main course I ordered (lobster roll) is well over priced for the portion. While it is good, I cannot recommend it for the price and size of the actual roll.
When a business doesn t listen to its customers they should not get more than 1 star! We use to go there every now and then and spend hundreds of dollars until they de used to get too fancy with their reservation processes! Now they force you to give all your personal information to a third party before they confirm your reservation! That s an insult! Going through that process for some oysters is simply unjustified and outrageous! That was a terrible idea! By the way the greeting message on the phone is not cool either! You just lost a few customers here!
Best place in Toronto for fresh seafood. Been many times and never had a bad experience.
Staff, food, music, service, atmosphere...A++! Impressive, as always!! Thank you, Rodneys, for the memories.
This place has service, taste, and atmosphere. Everything It was perfect - very much. Great -
Go to for oysters, the best in the city! Service is fast and friendly. Fave so far apart from the oysters is the tuna tartare and lobster roll.
really great food, all the staff were friendly and accommodating. It was my first time trying oysters, and the waitress could tell we were a little overwhelmed picking what to get. she got us sorted with a variety of oysters, explaining to us the qualities of each, and how best to accompany them with toppings. we really enjoyed our mains as well, I had the salmon special, and it was delicious! highly recommended restaurant.
Rodney s is the best! The oysters are always great and the service is excellent. They use fresh horseradish for the oysters which is the only way to go! The bread is unbelievably good. They have a very nice back patio too. Highly recommend!
Here you eat excellent fish and seafood! Excellent service with a wide choice of oysters from the Atlantic and Pacific. Splendid setting for a seafood restaurant, there are also aquariums with live crabs and lobsters. Advised.
Sit at the bar if you can to watch the oysters being shucked. Large variety of oysters and knowledgable staff to create the perfect mix.
The food was great! My favourite was the bisque lobster. I recommend Food
Best Oyster restaurant in Toronto
Amazing atmosphere amazing oysters and sea food
If youre an oyster lover, Rodneys Oyster House is a must-visit. We waited about 20 minutes to get in and chose to sit outside, where the vibes were great. They offer a wide selection of oysters from different regions, and though it was hard to distinguish between them, the server was fantastic at making recommendations. I particularly enjoyed the East Coast oysters, especially the smaller, sweeter ones from PEI. The West Coast oysters were meatier and brinier, so theyre a good pick if you prefer that style. Be prepared for the price, as its around $3-$6 per oyster, but given the quality, Id say its worth it. Overall, Rodneys Oyster House is a great choice for high-quality oysters in a lively setting.
Great place!!!
Fabulous! Will definitely go again!
Always a special treat to dine here
The smaller US Oyster was great. Buttery lobster roll. I liked the standard clan chowder versus their special one.
Came here for a surprise bday lunch for my friend. Emailed ahead and ordered a seafood tower. Julius was so helpful. Everything was delicious. All the staff is so kind. And they brought us out some key lime pie for dessert! We love Rodney s!!!
The oysters were delicious!!
Great service. A couple of bad oysters but they shouted us some new ones. I wouldnt try the lobster rolls...
Excellent fresh shellfish. Sit at the bar and enjoy the show.
Amazing seafood as always. A must hit spot when going to a Jays game.
One of the best seafood restaurants in Toronto. Oysters are phenomenal and always good selection.
Have got into oysters lately and wanted to try the best of the best so headed to Rodney s. The service and staff are amazing and really create an experience for the patrons. My fave was the PEI sweet blue! Give it a shot!
Nice spot thats in the cut. Just happened to wander upon it strolling the streets in Toronto. Oysters were succulent and delicious!
Best Alaskan King Crab! One of the best things Ive EVER eaten. Oh, and the oysters are amazing too! Every time I go to Rodneys I never want to leave. Everything is sooooo good. The New England clam chowder is phenomenal and the muscadet white wine they have goes well with pretty much everything on the menu. If youre not into seafood {why are you here!} They have a Flatiron steak and its also really good! Try everything, enjoy it all!
Best oysters in Toronto!!! So fresh and the accompanying sauces are amazing
Excellent atmosphere, the selection of oysters and other seafood dishes was great!
Great neighborhood classic. A lot of fun.
I visited the restaurant on Saturday, August 10th. This was my 10th visit, and I decided to bring my mom along to try the oysters. The food quality was consistent with my previous visits, but the service this time left much to be desired. I wanted my mom to experience a variety of oysters, so I ordered two of each from the East Coast. However, the server responded, No, this is not the way you should order. People usually order more than two of each kind because ordering only two creates extra work for the oyster shucker. When I expressed confusion and asked for clarification, the server reluctantly said, Okay, if you insist on ordering two of each, Ill ask the shucker to do it for you. This experience was unacceptable. I am paying for my food, and I have every right to order my meal how I see fit. It s not appropriate to make it seem like you re doing me a favor this is your job and what you are paid to do.
Good oysters, would come again
My wife and I go to Rodneys at least once or twice every summer as its the best place downtown for fresh seafood... especially oysters, mussels, scallops, and lobster. Weve never been disappointed in the food, service or atmosphere. Its a great experience if youre sitting at a table inside, at the bar, and especially outside on their patio if the weather is nice. The service is always great as their servers are always efficient and friendly. Great place for a dinner for two or with friends and/or family. Highly recommend this restaurant if you like fresh seafood.
Rodney s does not disappoint! Creative and inviting atmosphere with staff that all have charisma and passion for what they do. Court our server was beyond amazing and fun! Food executed beyond expectations. We had the scallop ceviche (omg beyond my favourite) oysters, clams (highly recommend raw) and muscles- all our favourites! Also added the Sea fry and lobster roll which was beyond excellent. Loved the grilled lime for a finish that brought out the best flavours in the seasoned fish. The calamari and scallops were our favs! The lobster roll was fantastic with refreshing flavour and the onion rings are a must here. Thank you team for an amazing night out to celebrate our daughter s birthday!
My kind of place. Good people. Good music. A properly sized bar you can eat at. And excellent oysters
This place lives rent-free in my mind. I always come back for the oysters, knowledgeable servers, and generally great vibes. Thank you guys!!!
Absolutely love this place, my wife and I come here every time we want seafood, and have been returning customers for years now. Love the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and a great patio in the summer. We always get the steamed mussels, they re our favourite in the city. Oysters are always great. We ve gotten almost everything off the menu over the years, and haven t had a bad dining experience ever.
I wish I have the stomach room to try every single dish. They are prepared fresh and definitely worth the wait. Service is beyond 5 stars . Never leave this place without the desserts. They are both Spot On. Thanks for the great meal
I was taken to Rodneys for my birthday. A place my friend go to when we crave oysters. The food and service were terrific by wait staff. Not, front of house who were the worse in hospitality. The atmosphere was vibrant but the music was so loud it was a struggle to talk with my guest unless we leaned into the centre of the table. Most unpleasant. I understand loud music is used in restaurants as a tactic to turn tables fast. Well we couldnt wait to get out of here. It dampened the celebration and we wont be returning.
great food and service.
Amazing experience. The oysters are fresh and there a variety of oysters to suit everyones tastebuds. The freshly grated horseradish is an amazing pallet cleanser. The lobsters and crabs are nice too, but nothing beats fresh oysters by the bar.
Came in on Thursday evening and everything was amazing. Service from Anton was out of this world and the food was really outstanding. Will be back for sure!
I love Rodney s!!! We came on a Sunday around 2pm for oysters and wine, they always have such great selection of oysters, you can t go wrong with this place! Their crab cakes are so amazing as well! The staff were friendly and quick to help, although the restaurant was a big empty, we had an amazing time by the bar. If you haven t tried this place, please do so, you won t be disappointed!
Amazing oysters selection. Server super kind and well prepared to describe any dishes and all the oysters type. One of the most original restaurant in Toronto. Super suggested for seafood
The most amazing place! The best oysters in Toronto and great staff!!
WestJet cancel our flight at the last minute from Calgary to Toronto and I phoned Rodney s to cancel 12 hrs before our reservation and they still changed me $20. Rotten service
I ve been here around 2 years ago and I think the quality of the food remains the same (a good thing)! Out of all the oyster sauces, I would say my favourite is the seawitch sauce. I also wouldn t recommend trying the vodka shot with the oyster because it overpowers the taste of the oyster and just ruins it with its over the top bitterness. All the other dishes aside from the bahamian chowder were good though. The bahamian chowder was very thin and didn t have the thickness I expected when it came to chowder but the taste of the chowder and the lobster meat inside was good. I enjoyed the experience overall and coming back here wouldn t be out of the question.
i was told by the waitstaff that this rodneys has different ownership from the one in Vancouver, therefore the Menu is different as well , although essentially serving seafood.
Great seafood and service in Toronto. Always enjoy the mixed Oyster platter pick by staff.
I have only had the opportunity to have a few oysters in my lifetime, and gosh darn it, this place has set the bar so high Im afraid Ill only be disappointed from here on out. The oysters were to die for, and the staff was exceptional at explaining and helping us choose. Not to mention we were blown away at the dessert (the key lime pie is a MUST), scallops and the amazing soft shell crab sandwich. I cannot stop raving about this place to all who will listen, and I already know it will be my first stop next time Im back in Toronto. So so good!!
Amazing food, service, and attention to detail!
Delicious food and good portions.
Chris was great guy amazing service and hospitality
After a great boxing workout at Maximus boxing club, you have to stop by at Rodney s on King st west for oysters and lobster High content of vitamin b12, protein, zinc and healthy omega3 fats will help any sportsmen with recovery Totally recommend
Excellent! The oysters were superb, I adore how they bring out an extensive collection of all their handcrafted sauces to compliment them (also, you can order jars of their sauces to take home and they re very fairly priced). Our server had extensive knowledge of their dishes and the differences between each oyster variety. Also had their pickerel sandwich and clams (both were great). They have heavily discounted wines on Monday which was a lovely surprise. Their interior is very charming, but I loved their outdoor seating which was tucked away amidst all cars and business of King street. Looking forward to returning.
Outstanding seafood restaurant. Pleasant greeting hosts and waiters begin the dining experience. Waiter is knowledgeable of the menu and food source. After inquiring our oyster preference he assembled our oyster platter and has nailed it, which is quite impressive. Smoker s platter is a delight reminded me of my BC years where I flavored many ways to prepare salmon. Steamed hardshell clams kept on the flavor celebration going with chubby, soft tissue clams bathed in white wine. The sea fry is also delicious I forgot to photo it before us clearing the plate. The dishes tasted this time incorporate spices to bring up heat and spiciness. This is a recommended restaurant for family, dates, and social events. Dietary restrictions: Dishes may use alcohol during cooking process. Advise the waiter if there s alcohol restriction.
Oysters were so good!!!!
Dinner was average for a seafood restaurant. 2 out of 4 items we wanted on the menu they didnt have (Mussels and another item). Nothing special about the oysters and their run of the mill sauces. For some reason I assumed this restaurant was gem it used to be.
Rodneys Oyster Bar in Toronto is, without a doubt, the best oyster joint in Canada! The location is prime, and the staff are always laid back and groovy making every visit a blast. Special shout out to James, who never fails to ensure we have an amazing time. And lets talk about the Key Lime Pie its simply the BEST... PERIOD. Rodneys has become our go-to spot, a monthly ritual we eagerly look forward to. We can easily devour 96 oysters in one sitting! If youre an oyster lover, Rodneys is a must-visit!
Love this place! Absolute best seafood in Toronto. Always fresh and never disappoints! Their oysters are definitely a go to, we tried the Indian Cove tonight and wow. They were phenomenal! Never had a deep oyster as such with so much juice inside, oh my. Going back for more tomorrow! The Branzino fish was also cooked amazing, pan seared yet still so crispy! Their whole menu is just a must try. Food is 5 star and so is the service.
A long-established oyster specialty store with reasonable prices and a wide selection of liquor! Great place in Toronto!
Was amazing when I dine in, but I ordered oysters on Uber eat once and the oyster were not fresh with a foul smell and slimey, the meat was also greyish, definitely a worse quality than the ones I had dining in. Wouldnt recommend ordering.
Delicious food, friendly service, but kind of expensive for what it is
We visited here many times This time is a special event that is my birthday diner with my family Lobster - it is a always so delicious here and they could boil it to make perfect cooked (not overly cooked and not watery) However put everything the same plate probably not a good idea - do you under served, in terms of the portion is questionable and most importantly, these dishes should be served in different plates or time once it ready because the food temperature is crucial The so called seafood pasta isn t satisfied because it ended up to just have shrimp The service is good and no extra charge of the cakes we bought to the restaurant
A bit expensive, but great food!
Best oyster in town.
Wow. Fresh seafood unmatched by any other restaurant in Toronto. Raw bar is insane. Kitchen is also quite good. Must try.
Oystermania was little too loud and a bit too crowded
Finally had a chance to try this place! Everything we ordered was fantastic. The oysters were and the Lime Pie was so tasty! Can t wait to come back!!
The oysters are really good and their sandwiches are nice. The waiters are friendly and are willing to explain the difference between oysters. The music is too noisy though.
Customer for many years. Oysters, Manhattan clam chowder is not better in Toronto
The king of oysters. Great service. Fresh food. Excellent drinks. We can t wait to return.
Had our annual family dinner at the end of the school year! Love the Monday night specials. The oysters were amazing (we ordered 2). We ordered several dishes to share, including the soup. Staff were great as usual. Thank you so much. My kids look forward to this dinner every year.
Really good Oysters and great specials
Their oysters are the best in Toronto. Very fresh and tasty.
Top restaurant for this area. Everything was good but the scallops are amazing. Better than what we have had anywhere in Europe.
Oyster House: A Seafood Lovers Haven in the Heart of Toronto As a discerning food enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Oyster House, a hidden gem nestled in the bustling streets of downtown Toronto. This establishment has quickly become a local favorite, and its easy to see why. The moment you step through the doors, youre greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary delights that await. The decor is elegant yet comfortable, with a touch of maritime charm that sets the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. The menu at the Oyster House is a celebration of the sea, featuring a wide array of fresh, expertly prepared seafood dishes. The highlight, of course, is their renowned oysters, sourced from the finest purveyors and shucked with precision to retain their briny, succulent flavors. I started my meal with a selection of the days oyster offerings, each one a unique and delightful revelation. The oceans essence was captured in every slurp, and the accompanying sauces and mignonettes only served to enhance the natural flavors. For the main course, I couldnt resist the lobster rolls, which were cooked to perfection, with a golden-brown sear that gave way to a tender, sweet interior. The accompanying onion rings were crispy and perfectly fried, providing a harmonious balance to the dish. But the true standout of my visit was the clam chowder. This velvety, rich soup was a symphony of flavors, with a depth of character that left me craving more. The addition of a touch of sherry added a delightful complexity that elevated the dish to new heights. The service at the Oyster House was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were eager to share their recommendations and ensure that every aspect of the dining experience was exceptional. In conclusion, the Oyster House is a true gem in Torontos culinary landscape. Whether youre a seafood aficionado or simply seeking a refined, memorable dining experience, this establishment is a must-visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in the best that the ocean has to offer.
The oysters are top notch. My husband and I were here many years ago, and now I came again to see if the quality remained at the same level as it was. Definitely left oysters are super
Great service and atmosphere. Huan Philipe was were kind and helped our oyster night make better

Oysters, ceasar
Have been going here for years I ve never had nothing on the menu I didn t love ! Freshest oysters in Toronto and the key lime pie and onion rings are to die for Food : 5/5
The staff are so knowledgeable about all the different types of oysters- you cant go wrong if you tell them what you like and listen to their advice. Outside patio is great.
Our server, I think his name was Sean, was awesome. Made us feel like family.
We have visited it twice and it has truly been excellent on both occasions. The oysters are super fresh, great variety and quality. Every time we can we will repeat. Excellent.
Dropped in for a bite at the end of the night the inside has an interesting atmosphere it wasnt what we expected. Our server Elaine was lovely and knowledgeable and recommended a fantastic selection of oysters. The dishes came out in a timely manner the service when it started was great. We really enjoyed the tuna tartare it was delicious and the chips were light and flavourful. Kid-friendliness: The was a child next to us watching a show to keep her occupied. She was loud but surprisingly was not disruptive.
Great shellfish
Probably more of a 4.5, oysters are delicious, same with the lobster roll. Id pass on the fish fry, but overall solid spot.
My partner took me here to try some Canadian oysters and it was fresh and tasty. The food overall was absolutely delicious.
Ordered oysters on Uber eats. The order was cancelled after 90 minutes and said it was already on the way. When I tried to reorder they said they dont accept orders.
Very disappointed. I can only assume that something has changed in recent years. This place has amazing reviews but the food left much to be desired. We had the marinated mussels which tasted like they came from a tin, the lobster was so overcooked and chewy and came with not great tasting melted butter. Im really disappointed as our bill was almost $200 and the best part was the wedges. I will say that the servers and host were really lovely and welcoming.
Had such a fun birthday dinner for two. Had an awesome time with our server, who was super knowledgeable and it was such fun to engage with the menu and eat many an oyster. Would definitely reccomend.
Got the lobster roll, I think it s overpriced for what you get. The roll itself was decent with large chunks of lobster, but the salad was very plain.
Seriously had the best time. Good and service were above what we expected.
The food is delicious
Amazing experience and oysters were no surprise amazing!!! Delicately shaved horseradish is a really nice touch with various sauces to add. We were there as a party of 25 in a dedicated party room which was comfortable, well designed with seaside motif. Our server was busy but always smiling and laughing :) Ill be back for sure!! Thank you Rodneys!!
