I was in the area all the way from Hamilton so decided to visit this restaurant. Their aalo paratha is very tasty and Chai is one of the best I have ever tried in GTA. I will definitely go back to try other items in menu.
Hands down one of the best Payas I have had in Toronto, totally loved it !! Moreover, the owner is so polite, I hope this place grows alot.
Delicious IndoPak food, run by some bangalis and has been around for probably the last 30 years, remember it since I was child and still go a few times a year despite living further away now. Not fancy but Good people. Amazing Bihari kebab and kebabs. And pretty spacious seating for the area. Reasonably priced. Places like this make Toronto a multicultural foodies dream destination.
Nice place to have breakfast (Nashta) in $10. They offer couple of options. I took option #1 which includes Halwa, Omelette of 2 eggs, many items to choose like mixed vegetable sabzi, qeema, several types of curries but I took chana masala with 2 heavy duty fried puri's (Bhatoora's) and a tea. All in just $10. They have 3 options to choose.
Staff are friendly. I have tried their butter chicken and beef curry. Both were very flavorful and the portions were big that I could have them for two meals. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
I’m not sure why but I really love this place, has a home cooked feel to it. I have ordered from here a few times and I like the rice and chicken from the biriyani, could be more spicy-i might just be numb to it tho. I also tried the chicken samosa and chicken roll. Got the Samosa fresh and hot and was great!!! Enjoyed the sauce that came with it. The roll was cold and I feel like I’ve had better take your chance with it tho because normally their food is great. Also had butter chicken and it was very sweet and lots of chicken, personally I would have preferred more sauce. I enjoyed the veggies it came with wish there was more!!! Yummy meal
I recently indulged in the weekend special for just $10 in Toronto, and it was an absolute steal! The food was both delicious and satisfying, offering incredible value for money. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. Whether you're looking for a tasty meal or top-notch service, this place is a must-visit, especially on weekends! Highly recommended.
The place looks nice and clean. The food was decent. Service was just sad. I mean I don't know if it can even be called " customer service" I enjoyed the food but again service was disappointing. My friends unfortunately couldn't finish the food as they really didn't enjoy it; They really don't like throwing food out.
Amazing! And so fresh
Cashier at the front taking service was very unfriendly and unresponsive.it felt like as if there was lac of basic courtesy in service.not the kind of experience you hope to get on a weekend out.
A staple in Toronto. But would like more consistency in quality.
very good food. run by East Pakistani actually
Assalamualikm, I want to give 7 stars because of Their honesty. I left my purse there after 5 to 7 min restaurant staff reached near to our car and give my purse. JazakAllah. Food was excellent. Vegetarian options: Daal, sabzi and chana Salan.
Everything perfect
Best authentic food. Best behari kebab, tandoori wings and nihari... Fresh Naan is amazing. Everything in the menu is fantastic . Highly recommend to the food lovers
Good place for Indian Pakistani food. Right opposite Madina Masjid on Danforth Avenue - convenient location near Donlands Subway
So I went in today morning for breakfast, I ordered the breakfast combo which comes with halwa puri, chana, omelette, chai. For the price it comes in I was impressed but I was told on the call that it will take 10 minutes it will be ready. I waited 30 minutes to get my food, on reaching there I saw them making omelette by whisking the eggs with their hands instead of using any spoon or fork which was so unhygienic. They gave me my food and I had to remind them that they forgot my halwa. They took 5 minutes to find the halwa from the fridge and gave it to me COLD!!! I ignored everything to get my food, I ate my omelette halfway I realized that there was a hair in my omelette couldn t eat anything after that.
Khala buna is too bad
Best food in town! very delicious !!
This place is a staple on the Danforth and in the neighborhood, the chefs are some of the kindest people and the food is beyond phenomenal
Ive been going there for years. The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. Ive never been disappointed and only go for more. I drive almost an hr just to eat at this restaurant. Highly recommended!!
Amazing kabobs, been coming here for years! Try the bihari kabob

Came here with family on a Saturday evening. Very calm and relaxed vibes .Very friendly and hospitable staff. The food was super tasty and well-cooked! We all loved it! Washroom was clean. The sitting area has been renovated and looks great as well! 5 stars for you guys ! Masha Allah! Will be back soon another time insha Allah!
Worse restaurant ever.
service was excellent, food was even better. 100% recommend Food : 5/5
The best bihari kebab and seekh kebab of town. Something where my whole family look forward to eat again!!!
Tuesdays Chicken Biryani special a good neighbourhood deal but light on the chicken - try the blazing fish masala. *Their butter chicken is a hard no, at least it is just before closing Food
I had take out in the night from this restaurant and the food (veg thali) was really bad in taste and it made me sick, i was puking due to this. Really disappointed from there food quality.
The BEST food ever! Ive been coming here for 15 plus years and it gets better everytime! People are so friendly and the food is so tasty and fresh! Do not miss out on this restaurant
Great place with good food, must try mutton biriyani and kheema curry and Desert Rabri

The Food here is soo good it s finger licking .Especially The kheema Curry and Rabri
Food quality and quantity both really great...... just loved this place(Tried lamb biryani, kheema, karahi chicken
Kabab excellent, but always my request not to use aluminum foil wrap, aluminum foil not good for health issues.
Love their Beef Beryani and BBQ chicken wings. Tried their Masala Brain with Naan. It was superb.
Visited with family. Excellent Service & Food. Vegetarian options: Lots of Vegetarian options available Dietary restrictions: All HALAAL food Parking: Paid Street Parking Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: No
Great food, good service, good quantity. Like the taste and didnt have to wait for the food to be served.
Today is breakfast try it me & my friend Its very very gd is food Food
The chicken karahi is the best I ve had. So delicious, spicy and flavourful. Chicken tikka is so good too. Love the food. This is one of my go to spots.
Good food but not the essential A downside is the service the staff are behind and do not bring the dishes to the table
One of the Best Halal food in East York Area
Good food
Really good service was great food was 10/10 workers were awesome food was affordable
Their wraps are really good, I really like their meat. The place is clean and customer service is great, I recommend .
Best place, their food tastes amazing and I really like it. I ve been here several times and the food quality is amazing.they have a very nice dine in area very clean and hygienic.
Cheap and delicious restaurant This store was recommended by a friend. Although it is in the downtown area, it is a great store with low prices and large quantities. Payment is not made at the time of ordering, but after receiving the product. There is an eat-in space at the back of the store The toilets are also kept clean!
We just filled up on this incredible food. We had the veggie for two and everything tasted so fresh & flavourful. The service was super kind and flexible to our needs. 100% will come back. Food : 5/5 |
Best food to eat
Dirtiest place I have seen. Food not fresh. Donno how gov let these restaurants operate
I have driven up to this place hundreds of times to get biryani and/or a kebab roll. Delicious.
CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS TO IMPROVE, the food wasnt that good, and i got the wrong order.
I ordered chicken tikka masala. To be honest very expensive and not taste good, also the quantity is very low. Never go again there.
The kebabs are must try once they are really delicious, and with the combination of chatni, I really felt to have more and more. Need to visit again to explore more menu items here. However, I dont recommend having tea here as it tasted very low and a star less is for the tea. But for the food, I can say it is worth trying once and experiencing yourself and giving your own review for it.
Rice was not soft, not cooked properly and if u asked about any food item, any review they replied very rudely that buy something else or go to other rests. Very unprofessional to handling customers
We have ordered Bihari kabab and 2 shami kabab and 1 daal. Only the naan was good and daal was average. Don t order Bihari kabab, it was not tender. Overall, the food was underrated
Although the service was good but I am not satisfied with food. The food was tasteless and not cooked properly. Never order again from this place.
It was good restaurant for me to visit with my friends, food was tasty and the service of people they were kind enough,I recommend people to visit this restaurant,I usually go weekends or on holidays here, you can try Chicken tikka it s good here Vegetarian options: All
Great food and portion size. Good for family s
Loved the karahi and the bihari boti.. authentic pakistani food a must try..
I ordered biryani and goat liver for the first time. Biryani doesnt look like not even a taste its feel you are eating just yellow rice with chicken taste like you are easting boiled one. In future Ill dont recommend anyone to eat this dishes.
Food is great price is great can t complain at all
Takeout portion is small for the price
Delicious Pakistani food! Dietary restrictions: Halal Food : 5/5 |
Sorry I am not happy 0 costumer service & bad food they salting (No cleani) I am not going any more.
Absolutely delicious! -The family deal is a crazy good deal btw!- Always a great experience, make sure you ask for the family platter at least once so you get to try all their grilled offerings, and youll be back ! Vegetarian options: Great selection of veg as well, done in families, desi way.. Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly (theres a huge dining room!)
Such a good place the butter chicken is one of, if not the best butter chicken I ever had the naan is really soft but good at the same time and the Beef kabob roll is one of the best you will ever try 10/10 Will definitely go again soon such a gem
Love it always. Every dish we order from this place is lip smacking. We love their bihari kebab and sheekh kebab. Also their naan is very soft. I personal love their tarmarind chutney which they provide along with the kebab and salad. Also you can try their mango lassi, which is also very tasty. We also ordered their beef keema matar which my husband loved. Its a authentic Pakistani restaurant. I have been 3 times and this place had never disappointed me. Will make sure to try their bangladeshi outlet also. Very much recommended.
Best Indian food in the GTA
Bihari kabab is so delicious. The price of food and quantity is good
The food here is always so masaladar and delicious. I think one of the best niharis in the city too. Love it!
Ordered from Uber eats. Got chicken karahi, chicken biryani and plain naan. Overall food was good. Egg in biryani was too overcooked with a grey yolk. Naan and karahi were 8/10 Food : 3/5 |
Food was just fine, brain masala was good
The food is beyond amazing here! The tandoori chicken which is cooked in a tandoor is phenomenal it gives it a very delicious taste, the chicken or beef biryanii rice, the channa masala, the samosas, the fresh nann, and the mango lassi! Also, the gentleman at the front is always welcoming and friendly.
Incredible food, the shopkeeper told us to try the Bihari Kebab and it was definitely a winner. We had Kebab rolls, tandoori chicken wings, tandoori chicken, and another kebab dish whose name I cant remember - and they were all great. The roti was also super soft and went well with what we ate, huge win!
Wrost beef biryani I ever had
Food jere is unbelievable. It was so good we went back the next day
Delicious Food, wonderful Service, Friendly atmosphere. Neat environment. Mr. Almas and serving person was very humble. Parking: Parking is free after 6.00 p.m
Ive been coming here since the mid 90s. The quality of food is amazing. The naan come out of the tandoori oven all gooey and soft. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options here aswell. Dietary restrictions: They offer Halal meat. Parking: Theres paid parking lot beside the restaurant along with laid street parking.
the food tastes good, the tray wasnt clear it was literally dirty
Bihari boti wasn t cooked properly. Bihari boti in its essence should be soft. Briyani was also quite bland. The service can also be improved.
I highly recommend ! A real discovery with a rich, varied and tasty gastronomy and this with very good value for money. The sublime decoration and atmosphere immerse us in the heart of Pakistan!
Never disappoints
Prices for too high and quantity was less.
Tandoori Platter for 4. Not a nice presentation, not great tasting. All the meat was the same colour and some over done. A person waiting for take out sat near our table. When they were not talking louding on their cell, they were playing music beyond a level for personal enjoyment. Place could be cleaner. All the employees were friendly. Judging by the number of other recent reviews that have rated higher, they were pleased with their food experience or are being paid to leave good reviews.
Had the butter chicken - really good!
Always come here, friendly service, good prices and they have the best vegetable samosas!!! Vegetarian options: The vegetable samosa the best I had I always come back for the samosas and the biryani
The best butter chicken I have ever ordered. Highly recommend.
The foot long kebab (chicken or beef) is a must buy at $9.50 with fresh naan. Great affordable place for the quality. Only issue is that orders can take long with the grill/bbq.
Best BBQ. Spicier than we had expected. But very flavorful. Nice seating area and clean washrooms.
It s just something to fill your stomach that you won t get sick from it. Food is not delicious but the only thing is the naan tastes quite good that is worth giving this restaurant three stars after their interior renovation.
great dishes and food also staff is very cooperative love this place Food
Dietary restrictions: Butter chicken, pakora, and many of the other curries are gluten free. Great for celiacs. Food
Great dining location and tasty food. Strongly recommended :)
I enjoyed the fresh food and great value
EXCELLENT PLACE. EXCELLENT FOOD. EXCELLENT SERVICE. 5 STAR ALL THE WAY !!!!!!
Excellent food and best customer service. People working there are so polite and friendly. So much variety in the menu. Food is served with a smiling face. Highly recommended.
It s very delicious
Great food but the service is slow
Amazing food and service! Very welcoming environment. Would recommend to everyone!
Had butter chicken, their prices went up big time, he charged me 17$ before tax for just one butter chicken order and maybe 3$ for a naan. Oh and let me add that there were only 6 nice chunks of chicken in the whole container ..the food was delicious but you d think with an order of butter chicken, they d give you napkins at least. Nope
The reason Im not giving 5 stars is because the last time i ate at the restaurant I got sick over the bowl. Which is depressing because this used to be my favourite Pakistani food in the city. Try the pakora or butter chicken but I hope you have better luck than I do.
No surprise they are doing business for over two decades in Toronto. Served food was so fresh and tasty. I still fill the softness of nan and aroma of mixed vegetables. Kabaab was juicy and tender. We shall visit the restaurant with family again.
Food never fails, especially their Naan.
Good spicy food
I love the mango lassi
Excellent food
Their pakoras are the best in the city.
Have been coming here for years. Delicious food, friendly service. Lots to choose from for the veggie thali (what i always get). Big portions for a reasonable price. Go out of my way to come here when I m in town more that I live elsewhere. Recommend Vegetarian options: Channa masala, stewed spinach, mixed veg, peas and potatoes, daal delicious
Amazing place and great food! Dined in with my friends tonight and had a great time, reminded me of the taste back home. Lovely! Felt so good and we all had our fill ;)
Makkah restaurant is absolutely a delight to Non-Veg lovers. If you want to go out for a casual dinner then it s the best place to be at. Overall the experience was good.
Best food
A go-to restaurant for my family whenever we re in the area! We love the Bihari Kabab :)
We tried this restaurant few days ago. All food item was good. Kababs were well done. We also have mutton biryani. The biryani was cooked that day so taste was good. Environment was ok comparing other danforth restaurant.
Food is beyond delicious. Amazing and talented staff.
Was very disappointed in the food. The butter chicken was way too sweet and the beef curry had chunks of bone in it. I wouldn t order from there again
The behari kabob is highly recommended!
We ordered through Uber Eats last night. Beef Khichuri and Chicken Khichuri. Looked nothing like khichuri. The taste was so bad while we were eating. Three of us couldn t finish one box. After a while my kid and I started having food poisoning. Never going to order from here again.
hit or miss
Really good affordable food. The guy at the counter was helping and making me feel welcomed. Service was super fast and the beer super tender. They put enough sauce in your plate you can mix all of your rice in it.
Been going here for several years now. You would think that the service for biryani would be fast within minutes but I guess because I ordered naan it took a long time. I bought chicken and beef biryani. While beef was good but chicken biryani was more of a Kichri (rice grain too soft). Rice grain in a biryani should be the star of the show. Their biryani used to be too good back in the day but not anymore and doesnt worth the steep $12 and $14 price. The star of the dish was their naan which are great but dont order it if you are in a rush as it may take upto 20 minutes. Excellent location and a new look. Overall an average visit for me and my family.
The food is always consistent, delicious and filling.
My wife and I tried out the food at this establishment for the first time after reading their positive reviews on Google. We chose to order the tandoori/bbq chicken breast and chicken tikka which both come with salad, yogurt mint sauce, tamarind sauce and a naan each. In addition, we ordered a small size lamb curry and a separate naan. The service was good and the person who took our order was nice. The quantity for the price was also good. However, the chicken breast and chicken tikka had not been marinated properly so they both tasted a little bland. They were at least cooked properly - not raw like in some of the other places we have eaten at. The lamb curry was not very tasty either. It was a little watery without enough onions, tomatoes, garlic, or spices. Basically, it was meat in a salty sauce. The restaurants setting is that of a food court. You order your food, and when it is ready, they tell you to come and get it from the counter. The washroom was clean.
Foot long kebab rolls are sooo good! The fresh naan and the sauces are perfect - and they always give me extra sauce when I ask!
Ordered chicken biryani and wasnt happy with it at all. Rice was kinda mushy and foul smelling. Not going to order again. Update: food poisoining>stomach cramps Food
Makkahs tandoori chicken is delicious and not dry the way chicken sometimes gets. It comes with naan and two sauce, as well as salad (mostly just lettuce). We got takeout and everything was hot, fresh, delicious, and packed super securely so that it didnt leak. Also, the price on their whole chickens is super reasonable - two of us shared a whole chicken with naan for $28 and had enough leftovers for a second meal. Will keep coming back.
My Good it is completly BANGLADESHI Tast, in the butter chiken is very sweet i belive shugar thr, not fresh at all. size of the portion is very small as comaprision of price. Price is very high.
Best butter chicken and love their meat so tender and juicy very delicious. I w go there at least once a month . Thank u for good food and Greta prices
Very good restaurant. Nice people. Good service
Yummy
Delicious Indian style food thats been around for 30+ years.
Food was great hot and the service was fast
Great chicken butter and good prices
Best spot at danforth , Nan wrap is love
Good time spent there with family eating nice and fresh authentic food from home
Nice place
The best foot long Kabab and Naan in town. The service is amazing, the staff are great, perfect spice blend, see you in two weeks
Ordered Uber and the food was fresh and the portions very good, Keep it up
Very nice and kind people and delicious
Fresh and authentic little bit extra spicy
Mind bobbling karahi and bheja fry. The biriyani could have been better for the price.
Best of the best
The foot long kebab roll (beef) is super delicious. Spicy meat that has an open fire flavour, moist and juicy. Wrapped in a delicious naan. And on sale every Monday.
Makkah restaurant is legendary. It s not just any food, it s TOTALLY worth it to look for parking just to eat here. My family travels from London for 2 hours each way just to eat here! The chicken, kebabs, bihari, green and brown sauce, naan and EVERYTHING is untouchable legendary status. We ve been customers for years and NEVER were we disappointed once. I m telling you, you are missing out if you don t try it. It is my favourite South East Asian cuisine restaurant in all Canada. Absolutely 100% I do recommend! Ps. We usually get take out but they have a dining area. I can t rate atmosphere because we only get take out.
Ordered a take out. Food and mango lassi were great, packaging must be improved, all my curries and daal were mixed together due to poor packaging (container). Will come back
Vegetarian options: The chef s vegetables are fantastic! The team at Makkah always goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend. Food : 5/5
What a delicious lamb biryani i had !! Also don t forget to try their kababs. Pocket friendly restaurant.
Used to always get the chicken kebab rolls from here, always delicious and filling! We tried the bihari kabob today and it was very tasty. Will definitely come back again.
Makkah Restaurant is a true gem for authentic halal Pakistani cuisine. The brain fry and kharai chicken were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavors.
I ordered their Tandoori Platter a week back from Doordash and had food poisoning. Im still suffering. Ill stay away from the restaurant forever.
Service was mid, but the food was amazing The best Bihari kabob in town.
best beriyani and butter chicken for the value in danforth area , the manager there always smiling and treat us like family
I want so badly to give this place a good rating based on what I had heard from recommendations, but my experience was not good. I waited a long time to be helped even though three people walked by me at the counter. I got the Wednesday special, butter chicken and rice. For a little more than $14, I got a container of mostly rice, some gravy, and four small cubes of chicken. I couldn t help feeling ripped off; the ratio of rice to meat just wasn t there. The gravy had completely absorbed into the rice and so it didn t really feel like there was sauce with the food either even though I ate the food less than 10 minutes after ordering it. I suppose I would come back to try other things to give this place another chance, but I would definitely not order the butter chicken special again. They have a lot of seating in this place.
Love this place been eating here for almost 25 years
Affordable and delicious food. Very big portions and plenty of vegetarian options.
For me, this is still the best place for chicken biryani, naan fix. Its a no nonsense decor, no ambience restaurant, just serves good food. The service is almost cafeteria style, so efficient. Theres a hot table that offers daal, spinach and various other dishes, just pick and choose. There are daily specials cash only, but you can pay with credit (theres a surcharge) or debit. Wheelchair accessibility: There is no access from Danforth, but probably from back alley one could get to eating/sitting area. I have never entered or exited that way, but have seen others do it. Its really a down home place.
I had chicken curry which was below average, naan was good but rice were not fresh. Total cost me 21 dollars. Not worth it
Always fresh curries, and Nan made to order. Vegetarian options: Veggie thali available. Food : 5/5 |
Love this place! I always go back for the kebabs Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Lots to choose from Kid-friendliness: Family oriented
I m Brown (SouthAsian), this place is Amazing
Last night I went with my friend we ordered Lamb curry, Daal Chana with 3 naan and cold drink, food taste was ok, after the dinner I had food poisoning and stomach cramps, now I am suffering, I don t recommend this restaurant and I will never go again to this place.
One of the few later night food spots near Donlands (and paper for that matter)!
We only take out from here but the food is top notch and has good heat. The naan is huge and so delicious and chewy. Channah masala is one of our favourite dishes - spicy, hot, yummy!
food is very tasty
Awesome beef boti kabab roll. The only place I know that has it. I wish they made it in a Paratha but the naan roll wasnt to bad because it was a thin naan. Dietary restrictions: Halal Parking: Paid Toronto street parking. $2/hr in front but free street parking in the back.
