Part art gallery, part museum, all fine dining - Darvish Persian Cuisine presents a stunning array for the senses. The art of food is an engagement of all of one's faculties: sight, sound, smell, touch (texture) and, of course, taste - and Darvish Persian Cuisine was art indeed. The interior was lavishly decorated with calligraphy, poetry, portraiture, miniature, numismatics, and instruments of the musician's craft. Seated beneath the "Rumi Table" plaque, I chose the Mirza Ghasemi - grilled eggplant purée with garlic and tomato, served with Persian bread - as an opening salute to the evening meal. Displaying good balance, the elements of the Mirza Ghasemi whirled about in a harmonious blend, with neither of the ingredients outweighing or prevailing over the other. For the main course, I went with a familiar favourite - the Lamb Chenjeh kebab. As described by the menu, this was a selection of lamb pieces marinated in Persian spices served with rice and grilled tomato. Meaty and tender, with all-you-can-add sumac spice on the rice, this made for a very satisfying meal. Of particular interest was an eloquent, calligraphic inscription on a cloth near the back of the restaurant, declaring : "Nothing is more joyful than the sound of love" - composed by one of the princes of Persian poetry: Hafez. (photo included below). Artistry, in all its forms, awaits you at Darvish Persian Cuisine.
We ordered dolme and kabob, dolme was great 😋kabobs and rice taste good , the young lady was working there was so kind and lovely, nice place with great Persian decorations make you feel home 😍
Beautiful Persian Restaurant with original , unique meals. I tried Persian tester and lamb.Good size portions, reasonable price, amazing tastes.Great service. Definitely recommend to try and explore different cuisine. I will go again , bring friends and try new dishes.
Authentic Persian restaurant offering traditional dishes. I find their food interesting as a foreigner; some dishes like sour chicken kebab and green herb stew have distinctive flavors. Meat is cooked nicely, very soft and juicy. The portion is pretty big so it's worth the price. The female staff is very welcoming.
Only gave 4star for atmosphere because it was early & I was only custtomer, but more came in. Borani bademjan starter was gorgeous, kebabs so tender, and the salted Doogh (homemade yoghurt drink with mint) was a 1st for me. Lighter than Lassi and very refreshing. Waiter was really attentive. Will be on my revisit list if I visit Toronto again
Try Iranian-Persian foods today. Gheymeh bademjoon ( eggplant veal stewed )- small portion, not worth the rice. Koobideh and chicken shish are okay but the basil basmati rice & saffron rice are quite dry.
Exquisite Persian Cuisine at Darvish Restaurant in Toronto Darvish Restaurant in Toronto offers an incredible dining experience that showcases the rich flavors of Persian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere, combined with traditional Persian decor, sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The menu is filled with authentic Persian dishes, and everything we tried was exceptional. The kebabs were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, while the stews were rich and full of depth. The saffron rice was fragrant and beautifully complemented the other dishes. One of the highlights was the Fesenjan, a pomegranate and walnut stew that was bursting with flavor—truly a must-try! The freshly baked bread and the variety of appetizers, like the Kashk-e Bademjan, were also outstanding. The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were more than happy to explain the dishes and make recommendations. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Darvish Restaurant is a gem in Toronto for anyone who appreciates Persian cuisine or wants to try something new. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a place you'll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended!
This was a special experience. You can taste Persian food in downtown Toronto. Although the prices are a bit high, the food is very delicious. Most importantly, the service is very friendly. I dropped my keys, and the waiter chased after me to remind me, preventing the trouble of losing my keys later. I very appreciate his help.
An unforgettable experience. Was absolutely amazing. The dishes were expertly prepared with rich and authentic flavors. The service was exceptional, and the staff were very friendly. The place was clean and comfortable, offering the perfect atmosphere for a delicious meal. I highly recommend.
The food was so bad. Portion (takeaway) is really small as well. Not worth it
Darvish Delivery Ordered Darvish Delivery off uber eats. I got two orders of Koobideh Kabobs with rice, tahdig(bogo) pickles and onions, kashk o bademjoon. The koobideh meal was great, the meat was juicy and the rice was nice and fluffy. The order of pickled and onions came with sliced pickles and onions which is great to eat with the koobideh and rice. The kashk o bademjoon was also good. Only downside is it came with only 4 small squares of bread, maybe 2 more would ve been better. The tadig was unfortunately a disappointment but that might be due to it being takeout. The rice was not crispy and was a bit hard to chew, most likely cause it s in a Togo container and being steamed and losing all its crispness. I would probably not offer that as a menu item for take out if that s the case. Overall a good place, 4/5 stars.
Best persian resturant. Persian falooda and coffee is must try. Kid-friendliness: Yes. Food : 5/5 |
The food was cold, and disgusting.
Food was dry and the service was bad
The food is mediocre at best. Id rather pay more and get better quality food. The food quality gets progressively worse. I have dined in and had take-out. Both very disappointing.
Nice Iranian staff and delicious Persian food. I recommend it for oriental food lovers.
We went to this restaurant a few months ago, we ordered kebab and eggplant curd, and the quality of the food was excellent.
Amazing food, service! Authentic and amazing atmosphere and music. 100% recommend!
Best Irani food in Toronto, warm atmosphere and amazing staff
Super expensive!! One Sultani plate with small salad was $72 Never going there again! Not very Authentic Persian place.. Food
The food in the restaurant is good
I have had persian food in Canada many places. By far, this place is the best. I had Barg, Joojeh and Koobideh, all best quality. Even marinated olives and Boorani was so delicious. Manager and server were so kind and welcoming. I wish I had time to go here again but it was a temporary business stay; very hopeful to be back here again.
Two stars, the reason for the second star was baghali polo ba goosht. The kebabs were cooked very clumsily. The taste of onions was much more than the kebab itself. If you want hard kebab with irrelevant taste, welcome to Darvish. Meanwhile, if you have a special guest, please close the restaurant door and reach your guests. We were like second-class wedding guests. You completely forgot that you have a customer. You always walked in high heels and talked tall with your guests. While we paid about 200 dollars for 3 nonsense kebab. happy birthday, ok????
Great good and service
that s a very cosy place and tasty food
The food was AMAZING! Everything is delicious, the portion sizes are huge and the prices are reasonable. A warm, relaxing atmosphere and the server was very attentive and friendly. 10/10 will definitely be returning!
One of the best persian restaurants.
Ordered lamb chenjeh kebabs, the meat to rice ratio could be better but the taste was amazing.
Great food and amazing service. The restaurant decorated beautifully. I loved our experience here.
I recently visited the Darvish Persian Cuisines restaurant for the dining with my friends and family. it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of Persian atmosphere and cozy charm. Overall Darvish exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you re looking for a romantic evening out, a celebratory dinner, or just a great meal with friends, this place is a must-visit. I ll definitely be returning soon!
It was the worst meal I had ever eaten. Extremely low quality and tasted like it was from a few days ago. The staff were very rude, and the place was dirty.
Amazing food,my second time from montreal visiting this restaurant
The food was overpriced and disappointing in taste. It wasnt worth the cost.
I visited with a friend and ordered Chebjeh and Kebab Torsh. Unfortunately, both dishes were very disappointing, leading to a negative experience overall.
Beef, chicken Kabob and rice were good. The yogurt drink was on the sour side. Interior decor was very traditional.
Simply Amazing
Food is so expensive and medium quality, service and atmoshpere is good though.
Good food
What a fascinating experience indeed! I usually dont like kobbedah, so I really ate the kobbedah with appetite. Its chicken has its own special taste, which is both fresh and delicious. We also ordered eggplant stuffing, which was very delicious. First, we sat in the Tambar sitting, and then we got lucky and experienced the Qajar sitting. What a unique experience! We also ordered doug parchi, which was very large and maybe suitable for six people. If you are there now, I recommend that you look carefully at the different seats. Parking: We found a green parking lot in the surrounding streets. And of course, the price of Dantan parking is a little more expensive than other places.
Thursday August 15, 2024. I came with an Iranian and Chinese friend. I am vegetarian. There are quite a few vegetarian choices. I had the dish with eggplant and mint, in short it was super good, I recommend. I like that they give importance to the aesthetics of the dish. And the place is also very beautiful.
Amazing Persian restaurant in the heart of downtown Toronto. Saffron ice cream is something I have never had anywhere else. Also, zaytoon parwardeh is special as well.
Very delicous! good Service. Thank you Pouya is great ! So kind
Beef Kabob tastes rubbish.
My friend and I had the Mahiche and Chicken kabob with zeytoon parvardeh as the side. The mahiche was tender and delicious, and the kabob was great. The zeytoon parvardeh added an extra sweet and sour flavor that complimented the meal. Also, the atmosphere was classical persian, and the bathroom was clean. Overall, it was a great experience.
Darvish exceeded my expectations! The staffs warm welcome and the delicious Baghalipolo made my day. Perfect spot for tasty food and great service!
Most amazing and authentic Persian cuisine I ve ever had.
Amazing food good service also very quick
The atmosphere is cozy, no loud noises, the food is fresh and delicious, the portion size is great
An incredible experience, as an Iranian, the dishes are great! Theres nothing to say, just perfect!
Very good place, the food is delicious
Friendly, hospitable we both a lovely ambiance. Manager of Darvish is a gem of a person. Definitely a must place to visit and eat delicious Persian cuisine.
Delicious food, great service, friendly staffs and cozy place! Highly recommended
That was so good
Good food, but more than a bit on the pricey side ... Tahdig is made to order (I expected it to come with the main dish, but it didnt, so I had to order extra). Got Koobideh and Sour veal kabab. The price is simply too much for the portion size. The dough was too salty. The saffron icecream was good though..
Very good service and delicious food. Totally recommended
The pomegranate walnut stew is to die for!
All in all disappointing.
We had the most amazing experience here. Food was incredible, amazing Persian cuisine, couldn t ask for better. Our waiter Reza was incredibly friendly and we can t wait to come back, thank you Darvish
I like Persian food and this place was great! Everything was pleasant, the location was easy to walk from where I stayed, and taste and quality of food was great! The people are very friendly and make you feel home! I highly recommend this restaurant while you visit Toronto. Vegetarian options: Many options available to vegeterians
Ghorme-sabzi was sweet!!! I wouldnt even call it ghorme-sabzi! The chicken in fesenjoon popped when I touched it like it was heated up in microwave!! The bread in my dish was not persian Naan! The waiter added 18% tip to each separated bill without even asking us!!! Worst experience!!
I didn t have a great experience in this restaurant. Ghorme sabzi was red-ish, rather than being green. Its taste was completely different from Ghorme Sabzi that Persian eat. The food was not fresh. Even we noticed the chicken in Fesenjoon was warmed up at microwave. Also, the quality of bread was very bad!! They served us with Pita, which was not fresh. Persian should be served with barbari or sangak bread! I need to add that they used canned beans for preparing Ghorme Sabzi. And they we spend around $50 per person!!! If you have a plan to try a Persian food, don t choose this restaurant! You ll waste your money.
Bad quality soup and rice they were not fresh good service but very bad food
Bad quality Persian food worse ever had in Toronto, soup leftover and very tart, and overall food quality is very dissatisfying. Would not recommend Darvish kabob at all.however very exceptional service.
The food was exceptional and meet our expectations, we went there with a group of our friends from different backgrounds and we all enjoyed it. The guy that served us was really nice and handsome, I forgot to ask his name but he was tall with really strong features and mustache? The service was pretty good.
Really great place
Absolutely amazing. Went here today with the family and saying that the food was incredible would be an understatement. Amazing.
No authentic taste. Very overpriced!
The pricing is on the higher side considering the portion sizes, and the quality of rice is lacking. The sour chicken lacked flavor and seemed to be solely marinated in a sour sauce. Dirty washroom.
Not the best Persian food. koobide was ordinary. There are much better persian places
Super friendly staff, tasty food. Will definitely come back!
We went there with my class . It was so delicious and service was so good and if you want to drink tea coming here
I recommend it if you want to try Iranian food. Especially the chicken kebab was so delicious. And try the appetizer and tea. You can experience Iranian food The staff is also friendly.
Amazing dishes and good service. Thank you.
It was a wonderful experience ! Everything was just perfect , friendly atmosphere and nice staff , txx
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The food was delicious, especially the chicken kabob. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a great place to eat!
Good services and delicious.
The best experience EVER! Kebab and kashko bademjoon is perfect! Highly recommended. Amazing staff especially server!
The food was great. The sour chicken was amazing. Need to try this place if your in downtown toronto
Great experience Great food Great location Food : 5/5
The restaurant atmosphere was unpleasant, and when I used the restroom, I noticed it was quite damp. The dishes included sour chicken kebab, which was essentially chicken mixed with some pomegranate paste. The fesenjan was decent. However, the rice quality was not great; I expected higher-quality rice from an Iranian restaurant.
We were excited to discover this Persian restaurant in downtown but not impressed overall as the prices were quite high for the portion sizes. Their walnut stew and green herbs stew was great. Chicken was well cooked but veal could be tenderized more. Kababs were flavorful but would be nice if they serve with a sauce instead of just rice. It is a small place yet the atmosphere was really good. The customer service was remarkable. Sorry to say, the bathroom was really dirty and needs proper upkeep. Overall: 3.5/5 Vegetarian options: They have a variety of vegetarian options on their menu but I didnt try them.
I love you boss
Dietary restrictions: Food
This is the best
Very nice place!!
Really recommended I really enjoy the food Food
I highly recommend the restaurant and the staff is really friendly people.
The staff is friendly!
Nice little Persian restaurant in downtown Toronto. We had the kebab and some appetizers. The food, services were excellent. Definitely will go back.
Vegetarian options: I enjoyed it a lot, and many thanks for everything! Food
In my opinion this is the best Persian restaurant in Toronto. It has great service and great food and drinks. They really know Persian cuisine. The ingredients were fresh, the flavor perfect, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The cozy atmosphere and decoration are worth noting. We were a group of colleagues from different backgrounds and countries (a few Persians too) and we all loved the entire experience; highly recommended!
I was craving authentic Persian food and Darvish hit the spot! New management has done amazing. From the incredible host to the delicious food and presentation, it was a fantastic experience. Definitely try the lambshank. It falls off the bone
It is definitely worth it, but a bit expensive.
I stopped by for an ashe reshte soup and tea. The ashe reshte soup was good and recommendable, however the tea was pretty awful, which is surprising for a Persian restaurant. It seemed like microwaved water with a cheap tea bag. The waiter did not offer me any sugar either. Regardless, the restaurant has nice decorations and is on a fun street.
Great service great food
Tasty and delicious food if you want Persian restaurant in downtown location it s convenience fast delivery service highly recommend.
The meal I had at this restaurant is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we walked in, the environment was so comfortable, warm, and inviting. The decor is amazing and we had so much fun taking it all in. The owners of the restaurant are very kind, and the staff as well are incredibly welcoming. My friends and I had a fantastic time speaking to all of them. The food is DELICIOUS. Some of the best food Ive ever had.. I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. I left full and happy. My friends, who can be picky eaters, loved everything we tried as well and left with their minds changed about different foods. The olives were one of our favorites, which was exciting as my friends typically dont like olives at all! To me, this just spoke to the spectacular quality and flavor of the food. My only complaint is that there are no locations in my hometown! I would love to be a regular, and dream of this food every day. I would highly recommend, 10/10!
This Iranian restaurant in Toronto is undoubtedly the worst Ive encountered. Not only is the staff consistently rude, but the overall service is also subpar. Moreover, the quality of the Kubideh Kebab falls far below expectations. Given these shortcomings, I strongly advise against dining at this restuarant.
The waiter was very kind and the service was great, however, the food was terrible. This is the first bad google review I have ever written. The koobideh did not taste normal, it smelled rotten and had a weird crunch (those who know what persian koobideh should taste like would know this is not normal) it tasted so bad my friend and I couldnt eat it at all. Another friend ordered it once before on uber eats and it was bad as well, but that was a year ago so I thought maybe things had changed or that couldve been an off day. Again, staff was kind, but perhaps the owners can use this as constructive criticism and improve the quality, Im sure theyd gain more customers since its in a good location with not many persian restaurants near by.
I typically do not leave negative reviews, but I feel it is necessary to mention in this case for the restaurant to address the quality issue. The waiter at this restaurant is amazing and truly tried to make our experience better however the food I ordered tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The meat was tough and had a strange, sour flavor to it. I couldnt even complete my meal, and as a Persian, I felt compelled to speak up. It would dishonor my ancestors not to! LOL.
Had the opportunity to order a sizeable amount of food for catering, and I have to say they have some of the best kababs in town. The koobideh in particular was very fresh and high quality, but also the kashk-e bademjan was excellent. Definitely recommend them for the staples! Also, they accommodated all our needs in regards to delivery, very timely and professional.
For the first time I ate at this place and ordered Waziri kebab and dough( buttermilk), the taste was very delicious. I recommend to everyone.
Being of Iranian origin myself, I wanted to try this restaurant and I was absolutely not disappointed. The server is smiling and very friendly. On top of that, the dishes are tasty and plentiful. I highly recommend this restaurant and thank you again for the welcome!
The best Persian food I have tried in Canada so far. The Dolmeh, Kebab koobideh, and Shabzi were authentic and the portions were generous.
Did not like the mandatory service fee. I find it to be unnecessarily pricy. Had chenjeh and it was ok.
Unfortunately, the service experience wasnt pleasant at all. The staff was very rude upon our arrival. We ordered Ash Reshteh to start, but it was terrible; the food was still frozen, and it hadnt thawed properly. This left us quite disappointed. For the main course, we ordered Vaziri, which included two types of kebabs and rice. The rice was extremely old, low quality, dry, and cold. Additionally, the kebabs were dry and tasteless, and the tomatoes served with them were raw and unripe. The portion size was very small compared to the price. Sadly, we had to endure this bad experience, and I wouldnt consider going to Darvish Restaurant again or recommending it to anyone else.
Great buffet set-up! Food was great too. No complaints.
I recently dined at Darvish restraunt and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. This was my first time encountering a restaurant that charges $2.50 for bread, which already felt excessive. However, what truly surprised me was the additional 18% service fee added to the bill. While I understand the need for service charges, this seemed disproportionate and left me feeling dissatisfied with the overall value of my meal. I hope the restaurant considers revising its pricing policy to better align with customer expectations in the future.
The food was so delicious, juicy, fatty, and so rich it melts in your mouth like butter. All the food was amazing, especially make sure you get the sour beef or chicken because its the best food in all of Toronto. Service is excellent, and the manager and all the staff are amiable and outgoing.
I missed Iranian food and I had a perfect meal there, thank you bachehaye Darvish
Today we went to Darvish Restaurant in Toronto. The food wasnt low-quality, but it wasnt great either. The chicken kebab they brought us was just yellow from turmeric, with no sign of saffron or other flavors. The kebab didnt taste or smell like grilled meat at all; it just looked nice. The restroom wasnt clean at all; they had toilet blackened so that the dirt wouldnt show much. I went to the restroom once and came back, but the second time I had to use it, I had to. The salt shakers were really dirty and worn out, and the lid of the salt shaker was smashed. I think it had come back from a terrible accident, which was the peak of disrespect to the customer. I dont know how the kitchen will be when the restaurants appearance is so bad. I would never recommend this restaurant.
My worst experience of persian food!
It was a wonderful restaurant with great service the waiter was very kind and very helpful we tried the kebabs of course I really like the chicken, it was good, there are are variety of Persian beer gin vodka, available and I tried some, its definitely an acquired taste, the tea, it is complicated has rose water in it, I think I recommend this place.
Small portion but high price
Excellent Persian food, right on Yonge street. Taster appetizer platter is very good, lamb and chicken kebabs even better.
Awesome service awesome food!
The quality of the food is the worst that the worst persian restaurant in toronto, i had a pick up koobide and jooje, the atmosphere of the restaurant is good because of some authentic persian symbols on the wall but the food quality is badddd, also the size compare to the price is very small
This place has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The customer service is great and the food tastes delicious.
This place serves my favourite Koobideh in the city! Food quality is always top-notch when I eat here. Great service! Restaurant is a little small, but totally worth a stop by. Whether you order delivery or dine in, you will never be disappointed eating here in my experience. I am also a celiac, and have never had issues with reacting to their safe dishes.
Great food, kinda slow service but well worth the wait!!
Very nice and clean! Food taste good. Great variety. I loved the Hummus, the fried meat balls? Kobe? The rice the chicken the soup the drinks its really great. Nice decoration. The Kunafa is delicious
Basic , but premium price
I went for the Iftar buffet. Good food. Friendly people. Beautiful restaurant. and they have a small space for prayer.
Anytime Ive ordered it has been the same fresh and tasty quality. One of my fav. comfort foods to nourish the soul.
Service and Atmosphere were great! Kobide Kabob wasn t fresh nor juicy tho.
I have ordered two big company lunches from Darvish and they have both been very popular in our office. We have tried just about every dish in the menu and the flavours, quality of ingredients, and presentation have all been excellent. My personal favourite is the Kabab Torsh. They also have quite a few vegetarian dishes which is commonly lacking in many Persian restaurants. Thanks for a great lunch and for delivering our order after the problem with the delivery service. You have made many fans in our office :)
Great
I absolutely love this restaurant and I often crave their sour chicken kabab. I always invite my friends there and they have also loved the food Food
Beautiful restaurant and just excellent service! When you find a hidden gem and everything hits with exceptional food. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood please try it you will not be disappointed. First time here but not the last, great job team. Kid-friendliness: They know how to treat families
I really enjoyed their foods and drinks! The iranian beer was very taste as well. The Darvish Kebab Plate was excellent!! The atmosphere is perfect!! I definitely come back!
Such a beautiful location and delicious food. I ve never had Persian food before and our server was quick to recommend a dish and we absolutely loved it !!
The taste of lamb was perfect and cooked well . I would also add that s a traditional and cozy place for enjoying your meal. Food
Darvish Restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and respectful, attentive staff. However, the food doesn t match up to the good service and ambiance.
Such a beautiful interior with great music and amazing food! Such a peaceful spot in downtown
Excellent place to eat, for family and non family. Persian food (Halal), which i really recommend it to all people who like to eat such cuisines. The waiter recommend me what to eat (Barg with rice) it was excellent choice, big thanks Babak.
Food was very tasty and authentic, service was fantastic!
Service, food quality and presentation friendliness and the internal decoration was the best!
The food was very tasteful and came in a reasonable time. The server was also very friendly polite and helpful.
We have been ordering ubereats from Darvish for the past couple of months. However, I realized the taste and quality of the platter is not the same as before. We tried last week to eat in the restaurant, the atmosphere and the service was great, but the food was not as expected. As it is Iranian restaurant and we went there for persian kebabs, we expected Persian kebab not only kebab!
The Kashk Bademjan was pretty good, I would definitely eat it again. The Fesenjan was okay, but it could have been better. I found it fairly good because there was a balance between the sweetness. The atmosphere was great with lots of artifacts and decorations of Persian culture. However it was a small tight place. The customer service is good and I like the fact that it is a reliable close place to downtown there are not many Persian places in downtown Toronto.
Good hospitality and customer service, but the food portion has become way smaller and less tasty. They used to serve complimentary bread and butter and tea afterward, thats all gone.
Food was at best a few days old and I am lucky if I don t end up with food poisoning and stomach problems (I had lunch there a few hours ago). I will not be lying if I say the worst quality of Persian food I have had in past 40 yrs living in North America including some really small cities. Very surprised that such business could actually last I Toronto with so much competition. Not sure if it was a bad day or this is the way it is, if it wasn t because of the friendliness of the waiter I would asked the chef to try his food. The kebab was awful, Tadigh was at least from couple of days ago and Gheymeh was tasteless
I had a Ghorme-sabzi, and the quality was too low for the price. Service and atmosphere were OK.
Our best diner during our short trip in Toronto. It was so good that we went twice there! Thanks a lot for the awesome meal and the very friendly service. We enjoyed it! My son and my wife loves the Chicken Kebab. I found the aubergine stew and the sour veals absolutely awesome!
Went here twice in a month for two friends birthday dinners. Excellent food and service both times. We had a lot non-Persians who had never had Persian food before and they all loved every dish. Their shared plates are fantastic options for taking your non-Persian friends so they can try some of everything. Must try items are their kabab torsh, morgh torsh, koobideh, doogh, and zeitoun parvardeh.
Pros: excellent ambience. Cons: unbelievably small portions and exuberant prices.
It was too expensive for its quality . I didnt like the food . Staff was also not friendly and welcoming
The first time we went to the restaurant to try the food, the place was empty, and my partner and I decided to move to another table. However, the owner seemed upset that we switched tables. To be honest, his behavior was quite disrespectful, and its clear he lacks basic customer service skills. Whats even worse is that he treats his employees poorly, like theyre slaves. On a positive note, the male server who assisted us was extremely professional and kind throughout our visit. Kudos to him for maintaining his professionalism in such an environment. I strongly believe that mistreating employees is unacceptable, so I plan to report this to the labor authorities. Needless to say, I wont be returning to this place with such unethical management. In my opinion, it deserves a zero-star review for its treatment of both customers and staff.
ever since i became vegetarian i promised myself that the ONE thing Id break it for (from time 2 time) was a nice plate if koobideh. can confirm that darvish does it SO well, literally so delicious. the doogh is perfect too :) definitely my fave persian place in downtown t.o
Great food and wonderful vibe to sit down and chat for a meal with friends. Ive been here 3 times with different groups for various events and it never disappoints. The food portions are generous and delicious, and authentic (according to my friends who are familiar with Persian cuisine). Good vegetarian options. The service is always very good and professional. Definitely recommend.
Bought this food from darvish delivery on Uber and it s like chewing gum or belt or sth. You can t eat it. Chicken pieces doesn t get cut. It s trash
Were visiting the city and never had Persian food before, so we decided to check Darvish out. Glad we did! The atmosphere was nice and the pillows at the booth seating was welcome and comfortable. Our orders were taken promptly and as we sat the restaurant went from empty to full quickly. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious! Very happy with our experience here.
Its perplexing that they offer alcohol while claiming the place is halal.
Best Persian food in town
Super delicious Persian food thank you guys for the lovely service
On our second visit, the food was good. But an unexpected forced tip really soured the experience.
I would to appreciate your good food and service. Especially Mr. Vahid he serve the customers very politely and professional. For sure recommend Darvish restaurant to whoever looking for real persian cuisine. Good luck for your business.
The kebab meat (chicken/beef) was juicy and tasty while the ghormeh sabzi was loaded with flavours that comes from the combination of the herbs, meat and beans. Place is nice and neat; not crowded with great staffs.
That was not as tasty as others said, its Cold and a bit row.
Tasty, smaller portion, higher price. Not the best for your wallet.
Ordered for take out. It s the first time I try Persian food, it s fantastic! Taste so good and the portion is quite big as well. Will definitely come back again
Wow is the only word I can think off. It s my go to place for Persian food in Toronto. Simple yet so tasty and flavoured. No hype. Just simple great food. Keep up the good work. Will be back
The food was so we went two nights in arow
We ordered food for our office team lunch. We were unsure of what exactly to order due to various dietary needs, but with one phone call we were guided to the right things for our crowd. The food was amazing, large portions and it was hot and ready for pick-up at the time we needed. They even threw in a lovely dessert into our order. We will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you Darvish restaurant! Keep up the good work.
Lamb shank was so good I wanted a second order
The service very quick and the food very testy. I loved the lamb and chicken kabobs.
The gentleman serving us was polite and welcoming. However the food was one of the worst I ve had in Toronto. The Koobideh was very salty and the Lamb Kabab tasted completely different from the traditional version. There was not food plating either. Worst of all we got food poisoning followed by diarrhea and currently not feeling well.
The place is clean, and the front house staff were attentive, the food lacks flavour not authentic enough. The price for the quality delivered is on the upper end. Will not visit this place again. There are much better Persian restaurants in Toronto.
amazing food excellent service
Grabbed some gormeh sabzi to go, (because gormeh sabzi is life). Very tasty.
Kebab was really tasteless! Not again
The rice was of low quality, it smelled bad. The kebab was raw and not cooked properly.
One of the best persian restaurants i ve tried in toronto so far. Great customer service and tasty food.
Unfortunately there are not much choices of Persian Iranian restaurants in downtown Toronto. Their food is not good at all. I order Chenge it was marinated with a lots of sour thing which was tasting like Kabab Torah so when they marinated Chengeh like that it means there is something spooky going on about that meat they using sour to cover it. I order onion to have it with my barbeque and onion came inside the bowl full of lemon juice. For God sake why onion have to taste like salad I like the taste of onion I don t want taste of lemon on top of the onion. I order Chenge and extra Kobideh and asked for extra tomato which they add half a tomato and charged me for whole tomato. And I paid $40.10+ tip $ 47.32 The whole time I was there the chef and another person in the kitchen were non stop arguing over something even music couldn t cover their talking. I don t think this review gonna improve them because they are not gonna accept comment. General problem with Iranian service is they don t look around to see how other restaurants greet their customers. Bringing a glass of tap water is not costing anything but no you Iranian restaurant wants to make money over everything plus the waiter or waitress are not professional. Bringing anything extra is a hard thing for them. Vegetarian options: Done, never again
Amazing food, the Fesenjoon sauce taste was addictive, especially combined with either bread or rice. Unfortunately the chicken chunks were a little underwhelming and dry, I wish the meat was more flavorful. I had an additional lamb skewer which in the opposite part tasted juicy and delicious. Overall the food, service and experience was great. Im surprised the place was as empty as it was, this is the best thing I had in my whole 4 days in Toronto.
I was disappointed with the Chenge Kebab as it didnt meet my expectations. The meat seemed to lack freshness, which affected the overall taste. Considering this, I felt that it did not provide good value for money.
Amazing dishes with Persian flavour
