Vietnamese food
Excellent place! It definitely deserves all those Michelin star. It’s affordable and delicious. I ordered the vegetarian pho option and the kitchen finished it in no time - less than 8 minutes and it was ready. The tea is also delicious and the service is good, they pay attention to everyone. Definitely recommend the place.
Awesome experience for Pho! Doesnt take reservations, and was in a larger group (of 5). Only had to wait a few minutes before we were able to be sat, which gave me a chance to observe the accolades posted, which after our meal are all well deserved, including the Michelin ratings. Had the house special pho, which did not disappoint. 100% recommend! Reasonable pricing for a quality experience 👌
Really hyped place, with a queue almost the entire time we were here (even during unconventional hours). But the queue is here for a reason: really amazing pho, which just gives you energy back after a long day. The 22 was really amazing, with tasty meat and delicious glas noodles. We waited quite a bit for the food, but were not disappointed when it finally arrived. Prices are super fair, especially considering the reputation and the Michelin decoration. Service is really friendly! I am really happy we tried it, and after a big portion it’s just a lovely neighborhood to walk and digest.
Great food and service and the tables and condiments/utensils tray were clean. The chicken pho (nice clean broth, not too salty) and grilled chicken broken rice (gluten friendly) were delicious. And we appreciate how attentive the server was to our gluten sensitivity.
This is a Michelin-recommended Vietnamese pho restaurant that only accepts cash. We waited in line at the door for half an hour before getting a seat. I ordered the extra-large house special pho, and it tasted great—I was fully immersed in the meal. The three of us each ordered a bowl of pho, and we also shared a plate of shrimp dumplings. By the end, we were slightly sweating, feeling very comfortable. The total for the three of us, after tax, was $75, which is reasonable.
Wife said the Pho soup is better than Pho Hung.... heard many ppl say that too. I ate the rice as that is what I ate at Pho Hung as well... I would say Pho Hung tastes better and has better portion. But if you're Pho hunting then this is the one that beats Pho Hung. Service wise is left to be desired...it does give you the South East Asia vibe of some eatery. Pho Hung's Spadina service is better. To each their own. =P Verdict: MUST TRY the Pho
Cozy Vietnamese restaurant offering patio and indoor seating options. Place is bustling (busy but not packed) on a weekday! Bonus points for dedicated vegetarian section on the menu (AND offering choice of veggie or chicken broth for vegetarian Pho!) and staff members are pleasant and accommodating. Food came fast and was decent, although nothing that blew my mind. Generous portion of veggies with lots of basil and culantro for your noodle soup. PS: Large size is fairly decent portion.
Nice place for lunch! The food was good. Ordered the deep friend blended shrimp on sugar cane vermicelli, with BBQ pork, and spring roll. The BBQ pork was nicely marinated, but a little bit dry. Spring rolls and the shrimp were delicious! Recommendations: Soursop milkshake, beef wrapped in with lolot leaves
Cash only payment is a rip-off in 2025. Change your payment policies if you really are a Michelin guide restaurant.
This place sucks they say stuff isnt spicy and it is. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH IN 2025 LIKE. their food is OKAY BUT ITS SO LOUD IN THERE AND THE BATHROOM IS IN THE DARK AHH BASEMENT
Was excited to come here after hearing such good reviews. However, found bugs in the first bowl I ordered and again in the replacement bowl. Calls to question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I was only able to take a pic of the second bug as the waiter caught me speaking to my friend about the bug I found and took the bowl away. Unfortunately was also charged for my replacement bowls instead of just the one that I ordered. Had to speak with multiple people in order to get my bill fixed. Hopefully they ll sort this out as it s a really popular spot but I don t think they should start being lax with prep
My friend and I both ordered the house special pho. The broth was good, not the best pho I ve ever had, but certainly one of the better places around the area. One positive thing I d like to point out is that the meat in the pho was an ample amount and quite delicious. The price is reasonable, $14 for small size which was decently portioned. We also had to wait about 15 minutes for table on Saturday around 9PM. The service, however, was slightly questionable. One of the servers spilled soup on a customer (they apologized) and the floor while cleaning up the tables, and did not clean up the floor until the server themselves slipped on it (floor is very slippery). This is the first time we ve been here, so I d like to give the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it just wasn t their day. The place itself isn t the cleanest, especially the basement washroom. I d recommend using the washroom somewhere else.
Nice place and very nice staff, food was amazing, love it
My go to place for Viet downtown. Keep in mind this place gets busy all the time. They don t accept card on weekends either.
I only ever have their pho, and the broth is incredible
Did not expect this delectable Pho find. When I Googled Eats while waiting in Queen West Village. Thank you - made my drive and wait, well worth it!!!
I found a womans hair in my takeaway, its gross
Best pho in the city. Even veg pho is amazing Vegetarian options: Best veg pho Food : 5/5 |
Very authentic pho! Good broth, but did not blow my mind at all. Iced coffee was okay, spring rolls were crispy! Overall I d give it a 7/10
Food was excellent, amazing flavour and good. Menu opions.
Delicious authentic pho.
Went there today. Pho is good.
Really enjoyed the pho and bun bo hue here, both soups had depth in the broths and a good amount of toppings, definitely worth the wait. Although I kind of felt weird when the person who gave us our tea cups coughed in his hands right before grabbing the cups Otherwise a good experience I d still come back but just not drink tea.
I cannot help but think its overrated. The regular beef pho is good. The broth is clear, tasty, not greasy but full of flavour. Theres definitely technique there. However, the price is high compared to the portion. They use gigantic bowls to cover up the lack of content. On to other dishes, the crab pho is just a mess. It is too salty and too fishy. The crab doesnt taste fresh and the rest of the ingredients just dont fit into it. The spring rolls are quite bad IMH. So I recommend just getting the cheapest pho and nothing fancy.
I had 3 types of pho, shrimp pad Thai, and one more they were all really good and it was one of the best pho, pad Thai and the other thing I had before! I highly recommend.
Simply the best
It was a compilation of my life when I lived in Toronto, and I stopped by while visiting Toronto for the first time in 5 years!!! The food I missed the most in Toronto Everything was still the same. Ah, they used to only accept cash, but now they also accept debit! When it comes to rice noodles, I always eat No. 9 house beef with beef on the side. That way, you can eat the meat more tenderly. And be sure to order the avocado milkshake. Its really here. This is a famous avocado milkshake restaurant. Its so delicious. Its a rice noodle flavor that you cant find in Korea, so I highly recommend trying it if you come to Toronto!!
The rice noodles are clear, very salty and spicy? It was delicious to my taste, but it may be a bit salty for those who like it bland. The fried pork jjajo is delicious, so I recommend it as a side. Cash payment is only possible on weekends.
Fantastic in every way. Delicious pho, decent prices, and staff is kind and helpful. Keep up the great work!
This place is 10/10! I went here today with my sister and it was so delicious. The service is great too! My sister also got a Vietnamese iced coffee, she says it s good. Would definitely recommend.
Over-hyped. Not worth the wait in line. Ive had way better pho at so many other restaurants. Broth didnt come piping hot. The rare beef took a while to cook in our bowls... Hoisin bottles are overly watered down. No chili oil or vinegared condiments either. Crazy that this place has mentions in the Michelin Guide. They are way too confident in only accepting cash on the weekends when theyre super mid.
A true Toronto institution. If you re feeling down, a bowl of pho from here will feed your soul.
Great Pho a spring rolls.
I recently visited Pho Tien Thanh, and it definitely lived up to its reputation! The pho is generously portioned, flavorful, and comforting, perfect for a casual meal. The simplicity of the place adds to its charm, focusing on what matters most the food. Prices are reasonable ($10 $20), and the service is quick and efficient. Definitely worth a visit if you re craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine!
This place is over hyped, the broth is cloudy. No chili oil? Hoisin has no flavour and is liquidy. The broth while favourable isn t the best I ve had. It was good and decently priced. But not worth the hype. I drove from Durham for this. If I m the in the area I would go back though. Huge portions.
The best pho in GTA
Good was ok we ordered beef pho and pad Thai The service was slow and poor we had to go to the counter for everything from giving the order , asking for cutlery , and finally the bill . No one cares to ask how the food was or even if we needed anything. I did not tip for this very reason Food
Clear and savoury broth. Very delicious. It is cash only on weekends
Pho is still decent, but it used to be a lot better. Service also used to be a lot better, but is totally trash now. Just careless, inattentive, careless/not paying attention. What used to be a gem has gotten comfortable with all the notoriety recognition and lineups. The bathrooms are also disgusting. Used to be a favourite of mine, but I ve seen the steady degradation reach a point where I will not return.
There are better pho options, not sure why this one is so hyped. They also have a ridiculous policy where they only take debit cards (not credit) on weekdays only.
Very dirty I saw a rat in the washroom
Good one
Wow noodles are so so fresh!
Best Pho I have had in Canada!! So authentic and reasonably priced. My partner and I absolutely loved it, I cannot wait to be back.
I ve probably eaten at 100 pho spots around the GTA. I really enjoyed the flavours in this house special broth, however the noodles/beef/toppings/portions weren t up to my standards but it s probably because they haven t changed it since theyve opened. I m a huge bun rieu fan and this did not disappoint. I thought the flavours were perfect and the ratios were very generous. I d highly recommend giving this a try! I m excited to come back to taste other things on their extensive menu. Other notes, they have a great patio, I d say expect a line though it moves fairly fast and they have real sriracha!
My favourite pho spot in Toronto!!!!
The pho broth is rich and delicious, but the beef had huge chunks of fat, which was chewy and not appetizing. It comes in 3 sizes, the large is massive, so I would recommend opting for the medium if you want to have an appetizer. We had the veggie spring rolls, which were yummy but oily. No pic of that unfortunately.
Incredible broth!!!!!
Great stuff!
The Pho is the best one. We ordered the beef brisket pho and the chicken pho . They were both very rich in flavour. The server, Longg were very nice , friendly and helpful . Recommended.
Its very ordinary, the taste is average, my friend said its delicious and famous, and recommended me to eat it in the past. This Vietnamese Pho is everywhere in Markham. The tip for a bowl of noodles is 25. I feel that the hygiene in the store is not very good. Cash only, no credit cards.
Worst food I ve ever had. Chicken seemed stale and old. Saw a rat too. I got up and left.
Overrated. Ive been here for lunch multiple times since I live in the area, and there are always flies in the restaurant. This time, one even hit me right in the face. The restaurant also has an unpleasant smell. The service was efficient, and the food was okay.
Cash/ debit only. Food was fantastic but this spot is a little busy so you may wait a few minutes for your food. We ordered the pho dac biet and the bun rieu. Both broths were very good and the bun rieu had whole shrimps and a whole crab leg and pork knuckle that was delicious.
It s a classic , hits the spot every time
It s alright. Nothing special
Good pho
Cant go wrong here. Super simple and good. Just sat down with one of Toronto based celebrity chefs accross the table from me stuffing his face with large Pho ...if thats not an endorsement... Food
Server is nice but nothing special
Pho Tien Thanh serves excellent food with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The pho is delicious, and the portions are generous. However, the young coconut shake was a disappointment Id give it 1 star as it lacked flavor and freshness. Aside from that, the overall dining experience was great, and Id definitely return for the food!
I had an amazing experience with the pho here! The broth was rich and flavorful, and there was plenty of it. The meat was incredibly tender, and the noodles were a standout springy and perfectly cooked, unlike any I ve had in a long time. It s clear they put a lot of care into each bowl. Highly recommend if you re looking for top-quality pho!
Food was great. Service had me waiting 20 mins to take my order. The worst part is the design of the mens washroom. The two urinals are so close together that the guy next to me pissed on my leg. Get rid of that second urinal!
They offer the best pho in Toronto. Cash only so you need to have some cash ready or use the ATM in the restaurant.
It hasnt been long since I visited and ate with my Vietnamese friend, but the suddenly chilly weather kept me thinking about it again, so I visited again. It was delicious too. However, because they only accept cash, write receipts by hand, and dont give change, I dont think its a store that pays fair taxes, so its a shame, but I wont go there anymore.
Greasy broth. It was pretty dang good, but relatively in Toronto, the king of pho, it was just alright.
I like the beef in the Pho, its good amount and fresh.
Really great Vietnamese restaurant in the ossington area. It s very consistent. Pho and bun Bo hue was very good and the broth was tasty. The bun was one of my favourites as the beef was delicious! The texture was almost like jerky, but more tenderized. The bun la lot was not bad. Cha Gio was real crisp and had good filling. Highly recommend as one of the better spots in the downtown area.
$16.5 for a medium rare beef pho, the portion of which is a small anywhere else. When the pho arrived I saw the amount of noodle and beef and was taken aback and even asked the sever if it was a medium. Very unfortunate.
Very good pho. Very nice staff I ve been coming here for around 14 years. Fresh/salad rolls are supposed to come with peanut sauce, but they substitute with some sort of oyster/hoisin sauce. Not my fave. If they fixed that, I d give them 5 stars.
Tastes like MSG all over, so salty.. not sure what to think about this being Michelin bib gourmand. Cash only, even with the ATM charging you $2 for withdrawal, and then charging tips automatically without any heads up. Overall, like other reviews here, you can definitely find other better options in town.
Pretty average place - slightly overhyped imo but I guess it s good for soup lovers. Personally felt it lacked flavour but could be a wrong order. The spring rolls were okay - slightly tasteless (not a big fan of sweet sauce). The Bun Bo Hue and bbq chicken on broken rice was good - the rice lacked spices. The pad Thai was very bland and lacked flavour. Overall quite crowded and feel it could ve been better. Restrooms are 0/5 - quite filthy. Cash only place on weekends.
I love their Hue beef noodle Bun bo Hue
Best pho, smoothies, viet coffee, wonton. Everything is great. Patio is cute in summer, just remember cash only most of the time. Last time I was there the atm was not working so just come prepared.
This is the best Viet place that I have ever been to so far. Do not judge this place by the look , as the quality and taste of the food is incredible! I had a lunch there with a group of my friends and all of us truly loved this place. Would 100 recommend to give it a try!
The fact this place made the Michelin guide over so many other spots just proves that it means absolutely zero. This is a skippable pho spot serving middle-of-the-road pho with a not so generous portion of meat. The broth is nothing to write home about either- on ossington you re better to opt to golden turtle
Amazing pho but often there is a lineup out the door and then food took ~40 minutes to arrive after ordering. But it is really delicious. Claims to be cash only there is an ATM inside but then they also have signs saying debit and cash only. I think they just want you cash and pretend their debit isn t available but they literally have a machine
Good food
This place is a rare OG Pho and duck congee place left in the bussing downtown T.O.
This restaurant is one of my go-to pho places. The first time I visited was before they received Michelin recognition, but this isn t the reason I ve gone back. Despite the cash only rule on weekends (cash and debit on weekdays, no credit cards) and very casual cafeteria style set-up (you might share a table with others when it s busy) I enjoy their pho-it s flavourful, the portions are decent, and the prices are fair. The service is nothing special, but it is fast. I feel that if you re looking for Michelin quality, you will likely be disappointed. On the other hand, if you re looking for a quick, tasty and affordable meal in a hole-in-the-wall establishment, you ll appreciate this restaurant. I usually get the Pho Ga (chicken) but decided to try the Pho Bo Ga (rare beef and chicken) this time. It was flavourful like the chicken one, with a decent amount of protein and noodles. I usually have leftovers at other places, so opted for the small bowl here. It was the right size for me, as I was able to finish all the meat and noodles but would recommend a medium or large if you want a more substantial amount. The Pho Dac Biet (house special beef) which my friend ordered, is also a good choice.
This is the worse Pho that I ever have. As a Vietnamese guy I dont recommend this place to my friends and Ill never come back for entire of my life.
I ordered Crab noodle but it turned out salty crab noodle and got high blood pressure after finish the food.
Delicious, Has really good vegetarian options.
Wow, unreal! Don t judge the place based on looks, it s a must have. Broth was so delicious! Will be back again, the pad Thai looked amazing too. Keep up the good work!!
There is literally a bug in my bowl. How disgusting is that
The noodle taste fresh, the broth came out hot and the flavour just kicks you in the face. Ive tried many pho restaurants, but this one has me coming back.
Cash only on weekends. Debit and Cash on weekdays. The pho is the best Ive had in the city and the portions generous. Love the noodles to other fillings ration in their fresh rolls. Highly recommend the Sweet Tamarind drink, its the perfect summer drink and a super refreshing/unique taste. Parking: Ttc would be your best bet as the street is very busy and very few parking spots.
People go out to eat for customer service because I don t wanna cook and clean so I want to be treated like royalty and point number two for quality food. These guys delivered on both ends I do not need to give the details, but trust me they hooked it up. I am impressed and definitely returning.
Overall very average Viet place. Grilled items for vermicelli is way too burnt and left super bitter notes in the dish. Pho dish was not flavorful either. Best item out of everything we ordered was egg rolls. First Viet restaurant we ve been to in Toronto and definitely will not recommend.
We came to this restaurant based on the good reviews, but we were very disappointed. The smell of the Pho was unpleasant. You can find better Pho at a more reasonable price downtown.
Spouse always get the Bun Rieu. The place is small, they do have out door seating which is nice on a cool summer day. The CH GIÒ ( Deep Fried Pork Spring Roll) which I normally get but not this time. Got the small bowel of the PH TÁI CHÍN N M G U (Rare Beef, Well Done Lightly Fat Beef & Fat). They do have an XL bowel, you got to be very hungry! Note that they are cash or debit card only.
Flavourful !
I felt like my life was complete
Went here for dinner and decided to try something other than my usual rare beef and tendon Pho with a side of tendon. The minced prawns in crab noodle soup (Vietnamese style with pork knuckle and pig blood curd) was very good. We got a seat quickly and never mind sharing a table with other customers. Service is always friendly and pretty fast. My only wish would be that they clear away the cobwebs high on the walls!
Still our go to viet place in town.
This is some of the best Pho I ve tried
Honestly though it was just okay, not bad price and serving size is generous though
Michelin recommended It is a friendly Vietnamese restaurant mainly served Pho The soup tastes good The meat either beef, pork or chicken are very delicious The pho or noodles or vermicelli, honestly we can t say it is better than other Vietnamese restaurants but it is fine . It is more or less self served but they still charge 10% tips automatically that I think it is bit controversial Canada is infected by the USA about the tips culture I anticipate more and more restaurants charged it automatically on the bills and the % will be higher and higher
Food was good (except the fresh spring rolls, they were bland and simple) but this place is dirty and staff not friendly at all.
DON T GO THIS PLACE! For your safety and health. I had a beef & chicken pho two days ago, and I got food poisoning and threw up a couple of times. I checked 1 star comments and found I m not the only one The place is not clean, especially the seats outside, flies can stop on the chopsticks.
Cute neighborhood Vietnamese shop. I know this place is an institution but honestly the food was very meh. I ordered the Special Pho and the broth was not very flavorful, not much topping and a lot of noodles. The broth tasted a lot of spices but not much beef flavor. My friend got the Bun Bo Hue, which is actually the better choice with much better soup but still not a lot of meat. We also ordered the spring rolls which was so oily and heavy, lots of taro and not much meat filling. The portion was decent but I noticed an increase in price. I understand the economy but I was hoping for better quality in the food. Came during lunch time so it was quite busy and loud. The service was quick. Vegetarian options: They have a lot of veggie option Parking: Street parking on Ossington can be difficult Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair friendly. Maybe their summer patio
Good pho.
This was our first time here..... and WOW! Staff and atmosphere is great - My go to for Vietnamese food is a pork or shrimp over vermicelli noodle... Phos is number 59 (pork)... Amazing. Very flavourful and fragrant.... we started with spring rolls that were to die for! This is a certainty.... we you visit Toronto... you need to visit Pho Tien Thanh... its just a must. There is a reason they are a Michelin rated restaurant! Thank you.. and e look forward to returning!
Good pho restaurant downtown. Cash only on weekends. Edit: sorta sucks that tea is extra now. They also raised prices again.
The Pho is AMAZING. There is soooo much flavour and perfectly done! I just wish the place felt just a bit more clean and the service was better because we had to ask multiple times for a fork.
Very special place. Excellent really excellent food. And that is why you go there. It is authentic from tip to tow. You will enjoy it, also because no stupid lounge music disturbs the experience. A must in the Toronto restaurant scene.
Meal is very good and delicious. Especially beef pho. That my favorite meal.
Its really good. The rice noodles are really delicious.
Delicious hot beef broth with noodles The place is not very confi ONLY CASH It gets very busy, so go early Its in the Michelin guide The menu is a bit confusing
Employees are friendly and the food is DELICIOUS! Super fast service, and big portions. I m hesitant with trying new pho spots but i m so happy I tried this place! The mango smoothie is a MUST.
This place always has great food and service. It never disappoints.
A long-term friend kept recommending this place + Im glad I finally had the chance to check it out. Generous portions, good flavor and more than enough good vibes to go around even if the servers seem a little reserved. Id return with my roomies or other community people in the future if that was the vibe.
This place lives up to all the hype. The Pho is absolutely spectacular and the spring roles are a great accompaniment. Service is prompt and courteous. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is great. The vibe in this place is pure retro - circa 1970s with a poster of Bruce Lee. It s off the charts cool and you can t go wrong with any of the Pho dishes they offer. I ve had both the Chicken and their signature rare beef. Both were exceptional. I m now a regular and will start to sample other parts of the menu that specialize in Vietnamese cuisine.
Good spot for the patio. Service is ok... almost too laid back. Got the shrimp stir fry which was good and a fulfilling meal. Good spot for groups to share food. Food : 3/5
One of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I ve ever been to. Way overhyped and don t understand why it s popular.
The broth of the pho was good and the pork chop on rice had great flavour. It s cash only so heads-up.
consistent food. nice interior. no frills but still superb. hope to return again someday soon!
Big fan of beef pho here. This time I decided to try something different and ordered the crab noodle soup. The tomato soup goes very well with the minced prawns and is a refreshing flavour try out. Would rate it 8/10 because I love the traditional beef pho too bad nothing else can compare. Also keep in mind that the restaurant only accepts cash/debit card.
I came here because of BlogTo and wasnt disappointed. Pho is a dish that I really enjoy, especially during cold winters. The Pho dish here had the most flavourful broth I have ever had. A lot of care and attention went into this dish. I ordered some fried rice on the side and was surprised at how good that was as well. The Pho by itself is enough though, the portions here are a good size. The place was quite busy and the tables are together so you sit right beside strangers as you eat, but that just makes you feel social while you eat, all around a nice quaint little spot.
This is my favorite rice noodle place.
I have a tendency to stick to the tried and true when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine but feeling a bit adventurous today I gave Pho Tien Thanh a try. I ordered the bun bo hue which was a spicy broth with beef, pork knuckle and blood. The gentlemen who took my order immediately asked if I wanted to remove the pork knuckle and blood from my order (I guess a lot of people dont like it?) but of course being someone who eats everything with four legs except for a chair I opted to leave it in. I also figured you would not be getting the full intended experience if I removed any ingredients. The soup base was a bit spicy and had good flavor to it but other than the soup everything else was pretty average. The portions here were disappointingly small as the bowl was mostly soup with the bare minimum amount of noodles (though there was an acceptable amount of meat). There was probably more bean sprout in my bowl than noodles so I ended up filling up on the soup but was hungry in less than an hour. The place was very busy when I visited but it did not take very long for us to be seated and the food arrived fairly quickly so no issues on that end. There are plenty of seats indoors but the restaurant has also opened up a number of seats outside so there is plenty of seating. Oh and they only accept cash/debit on weekdays and cash only on weekends. Well after this experience I am not sure I will be as adventurous as it backfired this time. Definitely not worth the $17+ I paid for the noodles. Definitely do not recommend i if you are hungry unless you want to fill up on soup.
Service does not listen well Pho is garbage quality is very poor Food
Been coming here for over a decade and thankfully nothing really has changed (except their prices but hey inflation). Our go to pho, they open a bit earlier than the other spots and make the best spring rolls in the city. Their pho is superb. I love pho forever. Also super fast with water and great service.
Quantity and quality are always on point here always recommend this place to everyone in the hood
Authentic Taste. Good to try once. Cash and Debit on weekdays. Only Cash on weekends. Food : 5/5 |
Tasty and affordable
I ve heard good things about the pho here, and I wasn t disappointed, but I also wasn t blown away. Would definitely come back, but probably wouldn t go out of my way to frequently visit. Cash only on weekends (and perhaps weekdays too?), there s an ATM available if needed. Plenty of seating with an outdoor patio in the summer, and service is typical of any asian restaurant (more hands off), so don t be surprised if you re not used to that.
The taste of the pho was good, but the downsides of this restaurant are that it is cash-only and the cleanliness of the interior.
Hidden jewel of authentic Vietnamese food in downtown with reasonable pricing.
This place was so delicious! The staff are super kind. Wish I could eat this everyday. Next time we are in Toronto we will for sure stop by again! Food
Delicious food, friendly staff, and a great terrace. Both the Pad Thai and pho are delicious. The best pho restaurant in Toronto! However, its cash only, and split payments are not accepted.
Great pho. Good amount of meat for the special pho! Service was meh and the room was good for casual dining. Very packed when I went at 8:45pm on a Friday night.
Best pho in downtown! The beef is top-notch, flavorful and tenderly rare. Generous portions at great prices too!
classic viet place. seems to be perpetually busy but they do have long hours. very extensive menu, and the staff work fast despite the amount of people ordering at any given time. they dont split bills on weekends. bring cash!
Loved this little Vietnamese restaurant, would definitely come here again.
Ossington is one of my go-to places but I didn t know that there was a little pho restaurant here. It was busier than I thought and so many people came in after me. They have such a big variety of food and I was amazed. I think I ordered one that had almost all the meat(chicken& beef). I chose small size but you can choose from three different sizes. It came with limes, sprouts and mints. I also ordered side fried spring rolls. They were bigger and more tasty than I expected. I d come back for more.
A typical pho restaurant. Good food with a mildly chaotic environment.
the pho heres is one of the better ones I have tasted! The restaurant is cramped but I went in expecting that.
Service is horrible!! As a two star Michelin restaurant I ve gotten better service at McDonald s. It was my first time, I was sat and that s all the service I ve got. I didn t know how to order (u have to write down what you want on a paper) which is okay I just wish someone explained that to me.. after 20 minutes waiting for the server to come and check up on me I had to flag them down to ask how to order which wasn t hard since they re just standing around. Definitely won t be coming back as they also put an automatic tip on the bill which I gotten removed because it was just horrible service. They re service is taking their reputation to the ground
Was at The Great Hall on Dovercourt for a concert so a convenient location. Busy. Lots of young Asians. Student hangout vibe. The vegetarian tofu noodles dish seemed a bit small for a main meal especially since it was close to $20. Conversely the large beef pho was huge and around $17. Extensive menu. Really wanted to be wowed but unfortunately I didn t get what the hype is about - food is ok but not to the calibre expected from a Michelin bib recipient. A bit pricey for what you get. Would it have the same hype it weren t located on hipster heaven Ossington. Didn t see or taste much difference from Chinatown pho which are cheaper. May come back to try the interesting drinks - eg. durian shake; green bean shake.
Best phõ I ve ever had! Great price too. Lots of vegan options, and options in general. Exceptional crispy spring rolls, delicious broth, perfectly cooked vegetables & noodles. Busy place, but very fast service. 11/10
always best
The pho broth and meat quality here is really good! I got the house special pho and enjoyed it. I thought the noodles were a bit too soft for my liking however, but overall it was a very good bowl of pho. Coming from Markham, I would say the trek to downtown just for this is not worth it but if you re in the area, it s definitely worth a visit if you haven t tried it before. Be prepared to wait though because there s almost always a line outside that takes around 20-30mins to get a seat depending on how busy it is.
Somehow I left this place paying $26 with no tip added yet for a bowl of large pho and an ice Viet coffee. You can get a better deal on food prices and service the place just a few doors north of this location, which is my normal spot. Today I thought I would give this place a try and totally regret it. There were hardly any noodles in my bowl of soup. I dont recommend this place and will never be back!
Food are great, very authentic
My favourite pho place in the city, the food is always so fresh and packed with flavour.
Favourite pho place in Toronto. Family owned and great service! Would recommend their fresh rolls on top of their pho! Food : 5/5
Ordered a bowl of dry noodles, they put pieces instead of noodles, asked the staff and they said this was their side noodles... Toppings include: fried fish balls, crab sticks really helpless. This is not close to the dish we have in Vietnam, dont try this dish. Only delicious pho and beef noodle soup.
Food is really good. The patio is amazing
Note: Cash only on weekends, cash/debit Mon to Fri. Tried the classic pho house special. Authentic pho with clean broth, and decent amount of beef - a good, simple bowl. Everything was served quickly. Seating is a bit tight. Can be inconvenient with cash only payments and no split bill.
Nice pho store, the food I ordered [#34] was a little bit salty and the dishes are pretty authentic
Its one of the best pho in Downtown Toronto. I usually dont order pho in Vietnamese restaurants. But I ordered the house pho, and it didnt disappoint me. The soup base is very good. I visited at around 3 pm in a weekend. There was still a long queue. I waited 15 minutes to the table. Service is ok. Serving time is a bit slow.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! This popular spot is even michelin-recognized for their Pho, where the noodles cling onto the beefy broth with a familiar, soft texture with a generous portion of tender beef slices and tendon. Unfortunately the broth lacks depth, and felt overly salty from MSG. Failed the Vietnamese parent test, but I thought it was okay.
Best pho you ll ever have (in Toronto) 12/10
A Toronto gem!
The best in the city!
One of the best pho in Toronto
The pho was excellent the beef was tender and the broth was packed with flavor. It was as good as some of the best I had in Vietnam if not better! The short rib is very good make sure to try it. Their spring rolls are also great. Portion sizes are also very good and prices are fair.
Been here a billion times. Always sooo good
the food made me ascend to heaven
6/10 (context: I prefer southern pho) House special pho/dac biet: broth lack flavor. Beef was ok. Had better pho. 5/10 Pork skin: its basically msg. Not bad. Shrimp roll: Pretty good but wasn t special. Will be back for bun bo hue
Not a word of a lie. I was so impressed coming to this location and the food hit the spot
Modest place. Simple decor. Good food. Good food is the highlight in this otherwise simple restaurant. It is usually busy and can involve a 45 minute wait. Only takes cash so come prepared! Food : 4/5
It s my favourite Pho spot in the city!! Such great food! Always delicious! Always friendly service too
I went for dinner last week , had the beef pho, and have been sick with who knows what in my stomach for the past week and half. Can t recommend :/
The food is good but I m troubled by how dirty the restaurant is.
What an amazing restaurant this is food is beyond delicious
I was genuinely amazed by the authenticity of the food. From the moment I stepped in, the aroma perfectly matched the Pho restaurants in Vietnam. Highly recommend for anyone eager to experience true and authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Best chicken pho in Toronto. Fast service too.
I really dont understand the long lineups and michellin star? This place is average at best.
Food and portions are great, quick service, the place just needs some updating
Best pho in toronto
This is my second visit. Went at 2.30pm still saw a line outside of the restaurant but moved pretty fast and we were able to be seated after 10mins wait. Liked the pho as the last time. The rice wrap - could improve - the flavour of the star anise is too strong to my liking. Overview good experience.
Whenever I pass by Ossington ave, I come to this place.
This is a tiny sushi spot that was recommended by my niece. The food was fresh and sushi was awesome. Staff was friendly and place was packed but despite the fact the restaurant was full, the service was very good. The menu had various offerings. Definitely worth a second visit! Kid-friendliness: various families with their kids
I enjoy the most amazing rare beef pho and freshly squeezed orange juice from here. The atmosphere is comforting and homey. Excited for my next return
