Wow ! Delicious Pizza ..

Mediocre pizza. We ordered a margherita and pepperoni. The crust was nice and chewy with an initial crisp and a lot of flavour. The pizza toppings on the other hand left much to be desired. The sauce was good but not great, the margherita had way too much cheese on it and its salty grated mozarella not milky fior di latte, a classic margherita only has blobs of fior di latte, so you get bites with a good ratio of sweet milky cheese to sauce. The pepperoni was not good. The peps are put on at the end so you dont get the crispy edge on them that brings out their umami and adds texture that enlivens softness of the cheese, they are sitting on top of a margherita base wilting sadly into the cheese. Will not be back.

I usually don t write reviews like this but I found it compelling. I ordered a Sicilian arancini, margherita arancini and a margherita pizza. The Sicilian arancini was supposed to have peas and ground beef but it had only a blob of cheese in the middle. The margherita pizza was shaped more like a trapezoid than a circle. The dough in the pizza was also bit hard and dry. The pizza was also drenched with oil and didn t look like how it was advertised in the photos. But the ingredients in the pizza and arancini were fresh and the recipes tasted really good especially with the tomato sauce and creamy garlic sauce. I feel like this place has potential to be great if only the execution and attention to detail were there. It s almost as if the owner created the recipes and opened the restaurant just to have the current staff sell it short by not running the place correctly.

This is favourite pizza place. I am coeliac and this is the best gluten free pizza in the city! This is a family run business and everyone who works here are so friendly and welcoming. I would 100% recommend Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Saw this place at Dundas West Fest and decided to grab a slice. I have to say, this pizza was delicious!! The crust, sauce, and cheese were all perfect. Can t wait to try it again.

Delicious pizza. Great service. Staff super friendly. Amazing experience. They have SanPellegrino chinotto from Italy (it s my favorite) and the pizza un the picture is the nduja (specialty from Calabria). The combination of the all ingredients make the pizza unique in its flavor.

The first thing that drew us to Slow South is that they long proof their dough for 72 hours! Secondly, the turnaround time for orders is very quick so no long waits. Lastly, and most importantly, the pizzas are very tasty with quite a few non-standard options. If you like spicy, I recommend the NDuja, but you cant go wrong with any of the options. I would also say they have the citys BEST meatball sandwich! Instead of a kaiser bun, they use the pizza dough; the meatballs are dense so no filler; its loaded with the perfect blend of ingredients that compliment each other excellently; the hot pepper version isnt spicy but adds a wonderful amount of underlying heat; and its messy, which somehow adds to the whole experience. I actually just had one for dinner so its fresh on my mind; its a must-try!

Best pizza in the city!

I love the Calzones to go from SlowSouth. You can get rapini in it and it came with some arugula on the side which was a really nice touch. Delicious! Food : 5/5

Best pizza place Ive tried so far! The thin crust is one of a kind, have never had such a good pizza base before. Wood burning oven is a plus. Great experience and ambiance, the flavour was very unique. Love both the Margherita and Carbonara pizza!

I love that i can get a gluten free vegan pizza that tastes this good. I highly reccommend paying the extra to get the sesame crust. This place is using very high quality ingrediants. Hands down one of the best pizzas in the city!!!! Must try.

The best authentic Italian pizza! They also have gluten free dough that tastes exactly like a regular pizza which is so hard to find! Hands down one of the best spots in Toronto.

I ordered a pizza, 2 mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Only got the pizza, 1 hour later. It was cold and bland at that. Definitely not worth the 20$ price. No explanation from the store. Do NOT recommed.

We have been ordering from SlowSouth Pizza for a few months and its our current automatic spot for pizza the whole family likes. We all agree the crust is the best. The kids always get just plain pepperoni, while the adults jump back and forth between a few. Most recently we had the NDuja pizza. Its very spicy, which we like. We also always comment on how much greens they put on their pizza. Sometimes referred to as a forest of greens. Its great. Another plus if you are ordering is, we have never had an issue with getting the pizza on time. In fact its usually early. Thats saying something considering how many mishaps occur using Uber. Glad they are close to home and making the Dundas W happy with their pizzas. Highly recommend.

Im a one bite pizza review guy and having tried most of the highest decorate pizzas in Toronto Id have to place this somewhere around a 7.6 very good pizza, super service and great place to have a quick slice

Definitely one of the best pizzas I have ever had in Downtown Toronto, probably the best one. The crust was very light and had a good crunch. Sauce and cheese were impeccable. Service was super quick and staff very friendly. Our pizzas were ready in less than 15mins even if they looked pretty busy. I honestly love to find owners who are also the pizza chef. Not that common to see it anymore.

Met the owner who was the chef- I must say the guy makes his pizza s with pure love for the food. The pizza s were definitely worth it. I would recommend this pizza place to all my friends & family. Their in-house choclate mousse cake & in-house dipping sauces were amazing as well. I m a vegetarian so I really liked how I had some many options :) Will definitely pay them future visits as well anytime I am in Toronto, the chef was very generous, after knowing that I drove all the way from Brampton- he gave me a complimentary mousse cake & dippings as well. I really appreciate the overall experience

Just had my first experience at SlowSouth. Picked up a takeout Calzone. It was fantastic. Very tasty and fresh. The service was great and though a brief encounter the staff seemed great too. Ordered pizza here once a few weeks ago so I ordered it again very recently. I was really pleasantly surprised both times! These pizzas are prepared EXACTLY the way I love them! Very rich in flavour, not too crispy crusts, normal/reasonable prices... and every single time I ordered from SlowSouth Pizza, it arrived BEFORE the expected delivery time. Simply fantastic. In my opinion, this place is doing everything right!

Delicious pizza. Thin crust and full of flavour. You can eat-in bar style or take to go. What isnt something youd expect, but is delicious is their tiramisu. Its enough for 2 people and is better than what Ive had at the citys best eat-in restaurant style pizza places. All in, one of my favorite places in the city. Legit tho, make sure you dont snooze on the tiramisu: its not crazy sweet, cloud like, and really the best Ive had in a long time.

Response to owners comment: I had a look at the photo you posted on IG and I can confirm there were no issues with the delivery. As per your photo, there is barely any cheese, the toppings were just floating on top of the pizza and the banana peppers had no heat whatsoever. Whenever I order a good or bad pizza, the toppings are usually cooked into the pizza and not raw and sitting on top as if they were added after the pizza was cooked. As soon as I picked up a slice out of the box the toppings slid off. The pizza is also tiny. I appreciate your response but my opinion still stands. It looks like you have countless positive reviews and I am glad there are many people that enjoy your pizza. I am sorry I am not a fan. Ordered the chorizo pizza via DoorDash tonight and it was brutal. The underside of the pizza was black and burnt. There was barely any cheese. The banana peppers had absolutely no heat. And it seemed like whomever made the pizza forgot to add olives until after the pizza was cooked and threw them on top. All the olives fell off the pizza. The portion was minuscule, equivalent to 2 slices from a chain pizza shop. For the price this is a major rip off. This was a very disappointing pizza and I will not be ordering from this joint ever again.

I heard about this place trough blogTo and I live in the area. I ordered two pizzas, one salad and two desserts. Everything was so delicious, tasty and freshly made. I never had a pizza like that in whole my life. Crunchy, tasty and so light. The Pizza chef was so kind and expert, the blonde lady at the counter so nice and prepared, the restaurant so clean and cozy. I had such a beautiful first impression. Keep doing a great job. 10/10

The pizzas here are amazing. You cant go wrong with any choice. My favourite is the Nduja spicy and meaty. You can get it delivered, come un for takeout, sit with a nice cold beer and a slice. The place is heaven. Ans the staff is always friendly! Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options. And you have an option to make your own pizza. Kid-friendliness: They serve both pepperoni and a cheese pizza so either is very kid friendly. They have a wide selection of drinks. And even desserts. All which are kid friendly.

I came here for the first time tonight (April 20th) and the pizza was absolutely super! I ordered an extra large with pepperoni, spicy sausage and spicy sopressata and despite it being all meat, it was very light and didn t leave me bloated or feeling like I needed a nap after like a lot of pizzas do. The sauce had a lot of flavour and the crust was fantastic, nicely crispy and had lots of the leopard spotting and char that I love from a great wood fired pizza. By far one of the best pizzas I ve had in recent memory. I also got an order of the Sicilian arancini which were generously sized and great tasting as well with the side of marinara. Slow South Pizza will definitely become a regular go to spot for me whenever I have a pizza craving from now on, and I highly recommend it - you will not be disappointed!

Order the NDuja pizza, it was so delicious. It was not super spicy, so you definitely can add some chili oil/flakes to spice it up! The creamy garlic dip is amazing!! The service was fast and the atmosphere is chill. The restaurant was well kept and clean. Will be back again . :)

Second time I ordered and enjoyed it very much. First I had Proscuitto and today Capricciosa, both very tasty, thin crust, baked perfectly with fresh toppings. So far 9/10 to what I consider good Italian pizza! Best spot in the city so far for me. I am not a fan of north amarican style pizza and big chains, looking for real italian dough and this place does not disappoint. Thank you :)

The pizza is good. My only concern is the vegan tax. Its really not worth it. I would order again though if they got rid of it.

Beautiful place and nice customer service

This was my fifth time here and I must say this is the best pizza place in Toronto, the pizza was cooked to perfection, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Great menu selection and I love they have a special pizza of the week. They are very creative. While waiting for the pizza to cook, I enjoyed watching the guys making the pizza. I personally find very catchy and interesting how they cooked my pizza in the wood burning oven.

First time here after friends recommendations. Pizza was great, very tasty with a thin and crunchy crust. We got an extra large, which was perfectly baked and the perfect size for the three of us. The owners were super friendly and we were so delighted they offer the option to split the pizza into 2 different ones. It didn t take long to come out to us, less then 10 mins and we enjoyed the patio so much. Would definitely come back.

A genuine contender for one of the best pies in the city!!! So happy we found this place because it s DELICIOUS. We now order from here over Brooklyn & Makers. Never tried Badiali s but there s no way it s an hour wait better than Slow South. The n duja 18 is amazing value - massive and the toppings are generous. Love the jalepeno dip (really spicy!).

Gorgeous experience! I popped into it with friends, delighted to taste my favourite pizza White Salsiccia&Rapini and I had also tried a slice of Pistacchio. Delicious Pizzas, the mix of the ingredients and wood fire backed combination, were superlative. Enrica and Giuseppe are excellent hosts, very friendly and courteous. I ll be back soon to try Tiramisù.

I have been to this pizzeria twice and I tried different things (pizza fritta, Margherita, pizza wallet and arancini) the food is absolutely great and very authentic Italian. I am from Naples and when it comes to food and pizza I am very picky. Staff and owner very friendly. I love this place so much!

Perhaps the best pizza joint in the GTA. Unlike most places, they dont have Pizza in their name but they surely have it in their blood. An Italian-owned jem. The crust is absolutely perfect. Oh yes, pizza shouldnt be called pizza unless made in a wood-burning oven. I am so happy that they are 3 minutes from my home. This place is not going anywhere but that doesnt mean that you shouldnt try it today. 6/5 stars.

1 out of 5. Crime against pizza. The physical manifestation of disappointment. Don t believe the hype. This pizza is terrible. You know when you drunk at 3am seeking edible matter and you hit that Pizza Pizza cause it s the only thing open and they re done making pizzas for the night and there s just that one slice left of questionable providence? Yeah that s SlowSouth at prime dinner time. Read on for the gory details: Crust - dense, dry, bland, soft where you want crunch, hard where you want soft. The texture makes eating a single slice a soul draining chore. Sauce - more bland. Lifeless. Missing that happy, bright tomato flavour that should bring joy to your heart. I ordered the extra marinara cup, and each dip brought more sadness as I mourned the loss of the possibility of a tasty dinner. Toppings - more bland. Bland that stands out against the background of bland. Was the cheese replaced with pencil shavings? It s entirely possible. And the pepperoni. I didn t even know that could be bland yet here we are. And of course not cooked to have even the slightest bit of crisp that could have at least been a token gesture at flavour or texture. Sorry SlowSouth but y all need to do some soul searching cause maybe pizza ain t your life s vocation.

Pizza is always very good and you never feel terrible eating it. Fresh ingredients, great sauce - awesome people. The Margarita is simple but perfect!!

My buddy recommended this spot even Im not the biggest fan of Neo-Neapolitan pizza. I thought I would try it anyway I got a medium pepperoni pizza. The crust was thin, pepperoni could use a little more spice but cheese was good but need a bit more sauce. Still pretty good 7.7/10

So happy with this place being a new addition to the neighbourhood! Its become one of my bf and I s go to spots now for local eats. The slices are great and so are the calzones!! The people are always so smiley and welcoming. Great spot

My newest go to place for pizza! Staff is always very friendly, and their margarita pizza is amazing. 10/10 will go again.

Best cheese pizza on earth.

Current favourite spot for a classic slice of margherita pizza. Great crust, fresh basil, hot creamy garlic dip was also good. Friendly service and casual atmosphere.

Probably the best slice in Toronto. New place but theyre not new to pizza. Pepe is from Italy and has been making pizza for 20 years - its clear he really knows what hes doing. They had only just opened when Portnoy came to town but I expect itll be his highest score next time hes here. Better than Badiali and North of Brooklyn.

If you are looking for real traditional Italian wood oven pizza look no further. This place has absolutely amazing pizza and reasonably priced for the quality and freshness of the pizza. Thank you slow south pizza for the great service

The service and food was amazing

Tastes like 241 or Pizza Nova, but double the price. Not impressed. I wouldnt be surprised if they use canned pizza sauce. The crust was under seasoned and did not definitely enjoy a day or three cold proofing as there was no depth of flavour. The pizza left an odd textural feeling in the mouth, almost as if there was xantham gum or something similar in the sauce. For similar cost and proximity, get your pizza from Maker or Badiali. Ownership: for the prices you charge, you should be cold fermenting your dough for 2 or 3 days and be using raw DOP tomato sauce for your pizza. These changes alone will give you a better product. Go enjoy a slice at Maker or Badiali to see what Im talking about. They can teach you a thing or two if you want your business to last. I honestly couldnt taste anything authentic or handcrafted in your slices. Edit: Thanks for taking the time to reply back. It was a whole pizza that was ordered. Standard Pepperoni and mushrooms. Ill try you guys again in a few months once youve fine-tuned your operation. I get that it takes time to figure things out when you first open. Do go try those pizza places I recommended (if you havent already), because theyre competing at your price point and they make better pizza. I want local businesses to succeed. Good luck!

Exquisitely balanced. Its incredible to make something so flavorful *without* excessive use of salt or sugar. I *highly* recommend the hot creamy garlic and jalapeno dip. These dips are also some of the best Ive ever had. Extremely well balanced. Unbelievably fresh. I think this might be the best pizza in Toronto.

Giuseppe is a super pizza chef! Pizza is part of his life, he has done this job for many years in Calabria and all his experience makes his pizza delicious! For me it deserves a 10, but I can only rate it 5 Dont believe negative reviews e.g run and eat! It will be worth it! This way you can also taste a bit of Calabria surrounded by the staff who will make you feel at home!

Disappointed with my pizzas. Very tight on tomato sauce, nobody really enjoyed it. -Expected more flavorful crust -No tomato flavor -Very soft and a bit wet (despite lack of sauce) There is a little place close by that does a $5 medium pepperoni, unfortunately, more flavorful. Maybe I just caught them at a bad moment before closing. Cant pay $30 a pie to find out though.

My boyfriend loves pizza so much..weve been getting pizza to different places coz he always say i still dont find the best pizza. So one time we just stayed home, and i saw slow south in uber eats, i ordered and he said so far, best pizza ive had here in ontario.

Decent slice of pizza. Dipping sauces were good but nothing to write home about. Overall my main complaint would be too much cheese vs sauce (which is a dumb criticism as its a pretty personal thing).
