Born with Polish roots, there is no doubt that Kovalsky Restaurant will provide you with the perfect taste of Poland. At Kovalsky Restaurant we pride ourselves on delivering an authentic Polish-dining experience through our delicious family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Our menu easily offers the traditional tastes of Polish cuisine, yet still manages to satisfy the taste buds of so many different people; there is a something good for everyone!
Very nice cozy place where we treated ourselves with cauliflower veggie soup and Polish traditional “kopytka” with sauteed onions and fresh salads like “mizeria buraczki i kapusta kiszona” Food was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our visit and will be for sure back again to try more. There would be cool if they had more Polish kitchen vegetarian options thou. Thanks! Overall it was a tasty lunch at the nice relaxing atmosphere! (Polish music was also playing in the background) Give them a try!
My wife and I have been searching for a new Go-To restaurant. We found that at the Kovalsky Restaurant, just a hop and a skip from our home. I knew I would be posting a 5-star review a) before I even saw any food, b) because I always post a 5-star review if and when I make a post, and c) our waiter was fantastic, the food was even better and it was Date Night. I enjoyed the Kovalsky Schnitzel (Egg on top), and my wife enjoyed Potato Pancake with Beef Goulash. No room for dessert. Nothing left on the plate. So. Much. Fun.
First time trying this restaurant and it was great! Lots of options on the menu and the food was fresh and very good.
After the funeral of my friend’s Polish father, we wanted to find a place that could accommodate a group of 20 for dinner. Kovalsky’s was very welcoming. The evening was so nice, with excellent food and service. The platters are wonderful, offering a great variety and very large portions. We appreciate their taking good care of our group!
First time at this kind of out of the way restaurant. Close to home but, never knew it existed. Been around for 10 years though. Delicious food nice atmosphere and good prices. Loved the presentation. Up to date decor and clean.
Great polish food and great people. I had a chicken noodle soup (tasted like my mom’s!!!) and the cabbage rolls. Loved both but the soup was so comforting and hot and delicious. Had a nice conversation with the lady who owns/runs the restaurant, she is authentic and real, something that is hard to find these days,… great place, give it a try.
My family dined at this lovely family restaurant today. We all have enjoyed our 3 course meal. As many food establishments are looking for a new way to attract clients I believe that your bill of fare is quite generous to reveal the Polish culinary heritage. It seems to nurture traditional food, production and protection of the very spirit of the traditional Polish cuisine. Well done! I highly recommend this restaurant.
A small and cozy restaurant that perfect for couples and family, I went there on Sunday afternoon but it wasn’t busy at all, so the staffs had time to prepare my food carefully. The food came out 🔥hot and fresh, I can see the smoke coming from my dishes. I highly recommend Beef Goulash with Potato pancake, it’s amazingly tasteful, the beef is soft and melt in my mouth, sauce is flavourful and well seasoned ☄️ The Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity. Probably come back next time!
A lovely and cozy restaurant offering variety of delicious Polish dishes. My husband and I came back here for the second time, and we really enjoyed our meal together here. Food was fresh, portions were great, and the service was excellent. This is our new go-to restaurant! Highly recommend.
Great authentic polish food with lovely presentation and quality. We will definitely be back again.
Often eat here or ordered takeout, food is always delicious and good portions especially the platters for 2. Always call before coming as they sometimes are fully booked and I don t want to be disappointed, love your their food..
Food was so good, we had pierogi and potato pancake with pork goulash and both of the dishes were amazing
Great home cooked food
Nice small piece for east European cousins
Simply delicious!!
Nice rest!
DONT GO HERE LOL! POOR SERVICE & RUDE LADY The food was good! But the service lady up charged us. We ordered a dinner platter for 2 but she increased the portion size slightly for us and we assumed it s because there s three of us, not because we asked for it. We had even mentioned we don t intend to eat too much and ordered some soup instead. When the bill came around, instead of being charged $58 we were charged 87 for the platter. To our surprise she said she gave us more food hence we have to pay more despite us not ordering or asking for it. Then when my friend clarified the issue, she said you guys already ate this, so what DO YOU WANT ME TO PAY NOW in the absolutely most horrendous and disgusting tone possible. The absolute audacity to speak to a customer in such a derogatory manner is inexcusable. Such poor customer service with a lack of understanding. Most importantly my friend was politely speaking and even tipped the restaurant out of respect for the workers time. However to be spoken to in a manner that is insulting and disrespectful is truly the worst part of this place. If you want a good environment and good customer service, don t go here. Your family and friends will definitely enjoy a better environment and better food somewhere else.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF. The food was really good! I cant complain. It was very good. However, the service and the attitude was very, very rude and disgusting. Unfortunately, this has ruined my experience, I would have loved to come back more often. We were a group of 3 and were deciding what to order. If we ordered the platter, the server mentioned they could make it for 3 people even though it is offered for 2. She also mentioned that without the wine, it would be 14 dollars less. I replied: No, thank you, not all of us are very hungry. And we will have enough food to share, and we might order some desert later. We would like this platter for the 3 of us and without the wine. Furthermore we would like 2 soups. We are going to share the food if thats ok. When looking at the bill, I was surprised about the price and mentioned it to the server, and she simply said, I thought you said you wanted it for 3. I said yes, of course we are 3 people. I STRESSED that we dont want a larger size since not all of us are hungry, but we would like one platter for the 3 of us. It could have been an honest mistake. However, what is more likely is that this is their strategy to upcharge the customer, as neither me nor any of the other guests understood a larger platter. Furthermore, we ordered 2 soups for 3 people and shared them with us. Her comment at the end was even more insulting DO YOU WANT ME TO PAY FOR YOUR FOOD NOW?. The temparament and tone I wont forget for a very long time. Unfortunately, I wont be coming back. This has ruined my experience. This is no way to approach the customer. Thank you, and never again!!! I would have been more than willing to pay if it was a mistake. However, the rude response from the staff has ruined my taste, and even the food all of a sudden lost all the taste.
Kid-friendliness: There is a little playroom in the basement and our kids had a blast in there! Food
Small portions he makes, just not enough food on the plate. He wasnt willing to fix that when I mentioned it to him.
Great food with reasonable prices
Very delicious food and professional service.Highly recommend kovalsky schnitzeland szarlotka for desert .
My recent visit with a friend proved to be a lovely experience at this Polish gem nestled in Toronto. We opted for the Dinner Platter for 2, accompanied by some wine, which came at a reasonable $40. The platter boasted a tantalizing spread, including succulent Schnitzels, flavourful Polish Sausage, hearty Bigos, generous portions of Mashed Potatoes, and refreshing salads. The presentation was as inviting as the taste. As a non-Polish diner, I found the meal to be an excellent introduction to Polish cuisine. We liked that they let us skip the wine and adjusted the cost to reflect this, a customer-centric gesture. Overall, Kovalsky offers delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. If youre curious about Polish cuisine, its worth a visit in Toronto.
Kovalskys consistently provides the best tasting food at an affordable price. I am hesitant in providing such a great review because this small intimate space will be jam packed with hungry people wanting the best food after I leave this review :). I am very serious - every time I bring my friends to this amazing place, this becomes their go to place for take-out or dine-in service. Friendly service, yummy food at a great price. What else do you want. I frequently take my clients at ownit.ca to this one of a kind restaurant, and they rave at the taste and generous portions. Want great food....go to Kovalskys, want to sell your house? call me :) Cheers
Excellent food food service ..have been going for years.
ZUREK WAS WYSMIENITY!
Great atmosphere and great authentic Polish food. 11/10 recommend!
Hands down The best polish restaurant in Toronto, Food is so good and fresh , home made , the portions are great, soups are always fresh but our favourite is potato pancake with beef goulash- really the best . Food
Really like their borscht. Very simple menu. Surprised theres no cabbage rolls.
Kovalsky was awesome! The food was very fresh. I truly felt like I was eating a home cooked meal! We ordered a platter for two *2 for four people, it was just enough food. I highly recommend coming here! My only complaint, is I wish we had a little more food for the price that we paid.
Was a nice experience very quick also quiet:)
Food was great and the staff was attentive. Try the chicken and or beef goulash! Cabbage rolls were fabulous as was the steamed fish. Desserts were great!
Worth the trip to the west end. We were enticed into one of the platters for 2 and it was a great way to sample several of their delicious meals. Will be back.
Best polish food !!!!
Ordered cabbage rolls for take-out. They were very good but could have been larger (including the sides).
What a find. Googled schnitzel near me and nailed it. Cant wait to dine in person, well done on Skip.
Very Welcoming, Excellent food and very quaint.
Best food in Etobicoke Parking: Park out front
Nice atmosphere, friendly owner and very good food. Lightly battered schnitzel, delicious sausage and perogies made by hand, in house!
My dad and I really enjoyed our dinner here and look forward to our next visit. Dzi kuj Ci
Really good polish food and nice place for a quiet dinner. Recommend.
Traditional polish food which hit the spot and reminded me of my childhood. Definitely will come back.
Food was delicious, A nice small and unpretentious establishment. I would recommend it to people enjoy polish food.
Potatoe pancakes were the best ever.
I had an absolutely wonderful family dinner at Kovalsky Restaurant last night! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was attentive and friendly. The food was the real standout of the evening. We started off with some delicious pierogis that were bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. For our main courses, we ordered the pork schnitzels which were crispy and cooked to perfection, and accompanied by a side of creamy mashed potatoes and tangy sauerkraut. Overall, Kovalsky Restaurant is an exceptional dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone in the Etobicoke area. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Dont miss out on this gem of a restaurant!
Fantastic Polish Restaurant. Hunter Schnitzel s are always my favourite. Chicken is great too. You can try the meal for 2/3 if you re with family or friends. Pirogies ard great too. Finish with the cottage cheese crepe!
The best Hungarian pie
Authentic polish food. Loved it
Amazing food, will definitely go back.
A fantastic, authentic experience with a sweet staff and stellar food. Been going since it opened a decade ago for a reason - excellent food served by excellent people. Goulash is amazing.
The best Hungarian pie in Toronto. Thank you.
Super Service.Very gooood food
Basic polish food seasoned perfectly. My mom & I found appreciation in Polish food for the first time, and my moms not easy to please!
The food was excellent! Vegetarian options: They offer vegetarian dishes on the menu Food : 5/5 |
Wide variety of options, very tasty and fresh! Highly recommended for Polish / European food! Can t wait to go back! Parking: Parking on Queesnway Kid-friendliness: Lots of options
Overall the food is solid and the atmosphere is very nice however I found the food a tad bit on the bland side. They didnt seem to work any excitement into the goulash and it was just a brown gravy over meat that was sitting on their fried potato. The meat was very tender, but there were no onions or peppers, and the gravy had like zero paprika. I just expect more of a BANG when Im going to a restaurant thats serving nothing but Polish food.
First time - not far from home but at the same time wasn t easy to find. This place is a gem. Service is exquisite and food presentation is lovely.
Very good authentic Polish food. Great service and really good prices.
Amazing food and service! Recommend the pierogis and cabbage rolls. We had the platter and it was amazinggggg
Food and service were outstanding. Made me feel super welcomed. I ll be back soon!
Beautiful little place fantastic food. Chris the owner is a great guy.
Average polish food portions to small
Great Food and Service!! Definitely will come back!!
Great tasting authentic food!
Cousy little place great food
Stopped here for some pierogis on a whim. Chill place. The guy behind the bar was courteous and non-judgemental. He had an authentic sensibility reminiscent of his motherland. The soup of the day was cabbage with bits of pork. Similarly to the man behind the bar, the soup delivered a spoon to bowl experience I can only describe as authentic and motherland-esque.
Amazing traditional polish food with awesome portions - just like my Babcia use to make. Hard to find a traditional polish restaurant like this one - everything is fresh and the owner is amazing!
Schnitzel was incredible as was the potato pancakes, my personal fav. Bring the family and enjoy the platters, it a great value!
Such great food and prices here.
Had their red borscht, the mushroom perogis were so good the hobbits want their recipe. Their schnizel was fantastic, and the cabbage rolls were the bomb!
Cosy, clean restaurant with traditional polish, low key, home style dishes. The meals are very well made and served in aesthetic fashion. We found it could use a bit more seasoning, yet still awesome.
Had a love dinner with family here. We got two of the combos. Was like a home cooked meal.
Awesome food, great service, portions and price. Delicious
First time visit to this restaurant and it wont be our last! The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered the schnitzel, the fish (Basa) and a platter for two that came with salads, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, 2 schnitzels and pierogies...all really tasty! Our server was really friendly and made us feel welcome. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and felt very homey and cozy. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Best Polish food Ive ever tried! The server was friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back! I highly recommend the dinner platter for 2 or more people, you get to try a bit of everything.
Had my father from poland here. Drove an hr to come dine here. When arrived they were closed even though they said they were open. We called the restaurant and no one answred even though there was 2 men inside. Eventually one came to the door and said were having a zoom meeting come back in half hr. We said but youre sign says youre supposed to be open. They didnt care. Rude and unprofessional. And i am Polish. How sad. Will not return. Reply to owner: Your reply is extremely hostile. Never banged on the door but called. Its sad how you treated a potential customer and the attacked them when they wrote an honest review based on experience. Im sorry this was our experience. Your son was rude and never apologized. Im not sure why you chose to attack us. Dziejuke bardzo ale polaki tak sie nie zachowuja. How sad. I cant believe these people just attacked us. Excellent quality and great price. The best Polish restaurant in the city :) Can t get enough of the schabowy and golabki!!
ALWAYS a good experience. Food is extremely delicious and good-sized portions. The platter selection has the best of everything. I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Polish food.
This place is next level!
Best polish food . Always fresh and tasty . Love eating here
so far, ive only had the takeout, but the food is wonderful. friendly service. cant wait to go again more.
There are a few dinners for two options that include a half bottle of wine and the best homemade cabbage rolls and pierogies, hands down. Making it a regular dine out rotation in these cooler months!
Amazing cottage cheese crepes.
Best European food. It is like grandma cooking in the back. Fresh ingredients and the price is soooooo affordable. Cheaper than cooking at home. I highly recommend it
Very nice Polish restaurant. Would recommend it
Food was delicious! Service was pretty good considering we showed up at shift change... This meant a bit of a wait and some trouble figuring out the bills but we got there in the end! Would come again and would recommend!
Good food and I like the name.
We went there the first time randomly and It was delicious , really great experience ! The pierogies with Meat are just excellent! The cake was home made and fresh , very good recommendation !
Delicious
Good food. Great portions.
Delicious polish food. We had some schnitzel, pierogi and cabbage rolls. Cute little place on the Queensway, very friendly service.
Lovely Polish fare. The portion sizes are generous. The schnitzel was crunchy and not dry. The mashed potatoes were pretty tasty too. Small, clean and cozy dining. Staff was pleasant and service was excellent. Would come back.
The restaurant made absolutely delicious food. It was all fresh and extremely tasty. The owner was fantastic and so polite and kind. Truly a wonderful place with delicious food, great portions and gracious staff. Love this place!!
Wow the was amazing, very very tasty. My kids Loved it. Tomorrow will order again thank you.
Good food
This amazing little restaurant saved us! We had planned to eat at another nearby restaurant which is known for its schnitzel but it was closed unexpectedly. The service and food at Kovalsky is exceptional and they serve excellent coffee! What a great experience!
Great food!
A small and cozy restaurant. Food is amazing. Beef Goulash is to die for
Love love love!!! Kovalsky has fantastic, authentic, delicious Polish food. To me the best family restaurant TO.
Everything we ordered so far was delicious. The Schnitzels are tender and fried golden crispy. Looking forward to trying more of their food.
Drove all the way from Newmarket arrived at 2pm only find that they are closed. Was able to walk in but waitress came out to tell us they open at 4pm. What a waste of time. Ended up going to Arkadys instead, they never dissapoint and hours are true.
Delicious food but restaurant was so cold.
The food was really good! Get the schnitzel and you won t be disappointed. Huge portion and it comes with three salads and mashed potatoes.
Tasty polish food. The prices are a bit higher for the amount of food you get though.
Fabulous cozy restaurant with amazing food! A must try! Will definitely be back.
Very good family style restaurant.
Great night out with friends We shared the schnitzel platter great portions good value delicious schnitzel crispy and tender. Service was just right. We will return!
Nice little polish food restaurant. Great perogies. Large portions and their house wine is very nice too!
Really nice taste!!! Restaurant was nice and clean.
The greatest value for 2 people. $40 for a variety of Polish dishes including schnitzel and pierogies and wine.
Great food says pauline
Love this place
Food is amazing, prices are fair, service is great!
I Love this Restaurant.
Kovalsky Restaurant is a gem! A intimate Polish restaurant serving authentic and delicious food. Visited the place for Dinner with my husband. We were delighted by the variety of Polish course. We ordered the pierogies topped with bacon, schnitzel, and Maya ice cream. We were impressed on how quick and good the food was. We enjoyed every bite. Will definitely will come back!
Awesome food! Red borscht was good- and came with these yummy mushroom dumplings. Got the potato pancake with goulash and it was delicious! Perogies with meat were also very yummy and flavourful. Check this place out! Sad to see the restaurant hasn t been busy since covid- but hope they can get through this!!
Great food and an intimate space
Friendly, prompt service and huge portion sizes! We ordered take out and it was not a long wait. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely filling. We will definitely be returning.
Delicious food and great service!
Potato pancake with beef goulash is a tastebuds dream. Then there are the salads. If you feel guilty about eating a lot of awesome meat dishes, have all the salads. My favourite is the cucumber. I could bathe in that.
Mediocre imitation of Grandmas cooking. Polish sausage is fine, but cooked ahead of time and reheated so its dry. Bigos is a huge disappointment.
First time trying this place and it won t be the last! Ordered the potato pancake with beef Goulash and Pierogies with meat and both were so tasty! I ll be ordering here again for sure!
Amazing food, great staff :)
awsome food. great service. I strongly recommend it. best Hungarian pancake in the city.
Great food and great service.
Small, quiet restaurant. Good food. Big portions.
Very delicious! I recommend the cabbage rolls for sure! The best ones I have ever had. The dinner combos/specials are awesome and include a lot of food.
Amazing cabbage rolls and pierogies. It is now a place my family goes to regularly.
Food is great and so is the service
Good food, good price (make sure u order the gravy)
If you are looking for peroggies, schnitzel, cabbage rolls or goulash this is an excellent choice. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. Good value.
Food tasted like delicious homemade cooking, not like overly processed and salty restaurant food. Schnitzel, goulash and pierogies were all very tasty. Service was very pleasant.
Good polish food
Amazing food !! Im picky with polish food and this was OUTSTANDING. Worth the price, and the service is excellent. The pierogies are a local favorite I hear, a must.
Decent menu, although smaller than one would like. Pleasant staff. Food is very good.
Amazing food and service
Amazing food! Good sized portions, seasoned just right. We got the potato pancakes with beef goulash Android the potato was crispy, beef was tender, and the goulash gravy was just right.
Great place to get good quality polish food! must try
One on my favorite places to eat around on the queensway. A must try are the cabbage rolls. Make sure you ask for extra sauce. The best I had for suuure
Family ran business serving Polish food. Small and quaint. Great location for a romantic dinner. Plenty of street parking. Platter meal comes with wine. Food is excellent and highly recommended.
Highly recommend visit this place. Amazing food and fantastic service!!!
Tasty food
Both the cheese and meat pierogis were delicious. The price was fair. I cant wait to try other things on the menu here.
Pleasant atmosphere, tasty dishes, elegant serving, interesting meals composition. Fairly competitive with other Polish cuisine locations.
Good Polish food. Good service. Decent prices.
Authentic northeast European cuisine and it delivers a hearty feeling. The pierogies are good but nothing special and are decently priced. The schnitzel is amazing and very well priced at 14$ for what you get for it. The mashed potatoes are also some of the best Ive ever tried. Their borscht and mushroom are delightful appetizers to start you off and taste wonderfully. Overall the food here is great and at a great price.
Very good service and great food. Thank you very much.
Tasty but small portions
First time in a polish restaurant outside of Poland. Food was delicious, great service and very reasonably priced. I had the pierogi dinner with bacon and sour cream and my husband had the breaded chicken with bacon, mashed potatoes and salads. Will surely visit again.
Hidden gem! Delicious food (best schnitzel Ive hand in ages!), friendly staff & cozy atmosphere.
This is literally the best polish food Ive found in the city.
Awesome food great prices
Great food and really tasty.Best Polish food in Toronto !! And the staff are great also. Will be back soon
Nothing special.
Went here for dinner on a quiet weeknight and it was fantastic. Best cabbage roll Ive ever had. Will be back.
The food is excellent with good value for the money. Sweet little place and the waitress is friendly and attentive. We go there quite often when we are hungry.
Great food, homie feeling, cute space
Very good
really really gord! almost dont want tio say publicly as I want tio keep it a secret! lol
Came here with my parents, we all enjoyed the food. Big portions and absolutely delicious. The service and presentation of the food was great. I will definitely came back here. It s a bit small inside but the dining area is very nice looking. I had the cabbage roll with tomato sauce, my mom had the potato pancakes, and my dad had the Kovalsky schnitzel. The food came with mashed potatoes and salads as a side.
Very good food, great service. The combination platter was plentiful and very tasty.
Had a great Polish family dinner at Kovalsky Restaurant. The platter was a great option to enjoy various great traditional foods. My entire family loved the schnitzel, bigos, sausage, mashed potatoes and salads. The dessert crepe was great too. Service was amazing and attentive.
Outstanding experience. Amazing food, wine and service!!!!
Great homemade Polish dishes! Love that you can go there and be served right away.
Very good authentic food. Good service. Decent prices. Potatoes pancakes are my favourite.
Very nice experience - food was outstanding!
Not bad. If you like bland food.
Good old school Polish food. Nothing crazy, but better ambience than all other Polish places in the city. Pierogi are just like grandmas.
Excellent original polish food with great portions and options for groups.
