Chiado is the creation of Albino Silva, one of North America’s leading chefs and restaurateurs. The critically acclaimed Chiado Restaurant is a beautiful blend of old-world charm and timeless elegance. Silva’s “Progressive Portuguese” cuisine has been praised for its bold flavours and creative presentations that will indulge you in the ultimate dining experience.
Service here is phenomenal. Dedicated and attentive staff, very friendly. Entrees were okay. (I ordered the seared tuna from off the menu options) . but the star of the show was definitely the tuna tartare! Incredibly light and bursting with flavour. Also bread selection is solid.
A truly unique atmosphere! The food was perfectly cooked, tuna tartare and grilled seabass! High-quality portuguese olive oil with fresh baked bread, simply delicious! Definitely recommend it!
Solid higher end dining, although I wouldn't be able to pick up whether the food is Portuguese. Flying in fish from Portugal is a bit much but to each their own. A completely varied set of fishes, but little selection of shellfish, which is surprising.
Such a lovely restaurant! Food is always incredible, service and staff are so kind and thoughtful - truly one of my fave places in the city. Every dish on the menu is simply divine! We got the lamb on mushroom risotto, specialty feature tuna tartare, fig salad and smoked chorizo. 100/10!!!! If you’re looking for an incredibly tasty authentic Portuguese restaurant, I highly recommend Chiado!
Very quaint Portuguese restaurant, the vibes of the whole place is immaculate. Server did an amazing job at explaining all the fish that was on the menu for the day. My dish was cooked perfectly, rare to see such a large piece of fish cooked this well. The dessert I got was a little bit weird but that was on me for selecting it.
The best way to sum up my experience at Chiado was mediocre at best. Sure, going for Summerlicious means you're going to have slightly worse ingredients in the pursuit of the experience, but for $75.00 per person, this was pretty unacceptable. The sad thing is, the appetizers were actually quite good. The lobster bisque was creamy and rich, and the Ceviche was pretty good as well! Unfortunately, our mains were just ok. My lamb chops tasted super gamey, and the portion size was shockingly small. Serving a single small potato to me just feels like unnecessary cost cutting. The monkfish risotto was better, but it was just fine. To cap it off, I finished the meal with a tiny slice of lemon cake. I'm not exaggerating when I say tiny, if I tried I could absolutely eat this slice in a single bite. The creme caramel was slightly larger but was ultimately not very good. It didn't really have any caramel flavor, mostly tasting like eggs. Oh well! Service was just fine. Our waiter was very cold and impersonal, though we were greeted very warmly by a different server. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful though! All in all, I didn't find Chiado to be particularly good. Would I go back? Certainly not.
Great food great atmosphere, Grilled octopus was AMAZING, Monk fish was very well done , The other fish was good too. Cream Brûlée could be a bit less watery. (my only recommendation) : We’d have liked to have more authentic Portuguese desserts, overall highly recommend .
The place is amazing. It’s an upscale restaurant so the prices are accordingly. We were there for Father’s Day as well as some other celebration, If someone wants to have good time, eat quality food and be nice and friendly restaurant this is the place. The waiter who looked after us was Judah ( I hope that I got his name right). He is a very professional, easy going and very polite. Very good employees keeps the business growing and thriving. Before we ordered the main courses he brought a plate with all the ingredients used to make any main course ( that was a first for me and it was a nice touch) which made our decision whip meal we wanted much easier. He also advised us which wine he recommended to go with the meals we ordered. The choice was perfect. We had a very good time at this restaurant. We also recommend this restaurant to any person or persons wants to do any events or just want to have good time. There is a public parking not very far from the restaurant. Interesting enough the parking lot is next to a Police Station so I would say is safe to walk from and to this parking lot or walk to the restaurant. To the entire team at this restaurant who made our stay very enjoyable,,THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Keep up the good work.
The food and service were excellent but the prices are not for the faint of heart! Appetizers run from $18-$26. Mains from $35-$75. Add a bottle of wine or two and you may just have dropped a mortgage payment on dinner.
Excellent ambience, food, and service.
Would recommend for anyone looking for a Portuguese culinary experience. True high level food. This comes at a price, but anything worthwhile will always be difficult!
The well made food in a great toronto classy Resturant with reputation stanching from 1991. Bravo
Chiado restaurant was absolutely amazing! The food was impressive and so tasty..our table had 7 people, and 2 with allergies. They exceeded our expectations. One of Our servers was Orlando (we forgot to get the other servers names, they were incredible too) and he was exceptional +. The service was so efficient and on point. This is a real (and impressive) fine dining experience. This is a must visit restaurant..put it on your absolute list. Dietary restrictions: We have allergies and they were able.to adjust meals so that we could eat symptom free.i can not recommend this restaurant more.
Overall excellent restaurant. Known for Portuguese food, especially seafood. Although the steak is also excellent. Excellent service. Servers are pleasant and willing to accommodate. Good place for a cozy or romantic meal. On the pricey side. But thats okay if you know it going in
Great service, very attentive and very friendly staff, food was very delicious, so was the dessert and Bica
We are visiting the Host now 27 years and the food is great. We like to thank Mamun for his dedicated service and kindness. We keep coming and he is always there knowing our choice and making sure we enjoy our experience
My wife and I are always very happy with our dinners at Chiado. You will be happy with anything you order.
The seafood products are rigorously selected and very well prepared. It was a great culinary experience.
I was here for a work event. I had very high expectations based on the Google reviews. However, the food was just ok. A little bland and undersalted for my liking. The service was great
Everything was average. I expected more as I tried out their summerlicious menu. While it wasnt bad, for the price point I would have expected more balanced flavors. For example, the skate fish came with a tomato and jalapeno confit and lemon spinach risotto, the tomato and jalapeno confit was critical for the balance of the flavor but as you can see in my picture, it was barely enough for a couple of bites. The risotto lacked the citrus flavor I expected. For my appetizer, the salt cod was to come with a piri piri aioli , the aioli tasted like a basic Sriracha mayo.
Been here the first time and tried their Summerlicious menu, which was magnificent! Casual environment and friendly services. Highly recommended!
The food was good and the staff are super friendly, recommend their lobster and shrimp bisque and the steak
Food was decent, but overpriced. The atmosphere was fairly stuffy, and the waitstaff were trying to rush people out.
Great food, service and ambiance I felt I was back in Portugal
High end, high price, and high quality. Excellent place to celebrate special occasion.
Good
Great food and service, would definitely return. Their soup is very good, the mushroom one they were serving that day.
It was Fathers Day as well as a Birthday Day. Myself and my wife as well as other family members were invited to this upscale restaurant on College St. to spend some time together ,have good time and eat good food. The atmosphere was excellent as well as the food and service. This is not an ordinary Restaurant . It is an Upscale Restaurant so the prices are accordly. Check the prices before booking. We were looked after by Juda our waiter/server ( I hope that I got his name right)who is a professional ,very pleasant and easy going person. All the time we were there he made sure that we were happy and pleased whith the service.Which we were. He gave us some good advise in regards to the wine as well as the meals. Interesting enough is that he brought a plate with the ingredients use to make our meals ( that is a first for me in so many years) . He explained everything to us making very easy for us to make our decision in regards to what we wanted to have for dinner. Employees like Juda keeps customers coming back which is good for business. I would definetely recommend this restaurant to people interested in spending good time ,eat good food and being served by professional, polite and pleasant waiters/servers. Parking is not an issue. There is a Public parking close by ( believe it or not close to a Police Station-so it is safe to walk and park to this location ). To anyone interested in going to a good restaurant, with table cloth ( not papers like some other places),have good time, good food, oustanding service from all the people involved, this is the place to go. To Chiado staff stay safe and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. ps Unfortunately not all the dishes are listed on the bellow question. I would recommend sea bass . Very good and very testy. Ice cream is delicious. Comes in all kind of flavours and in a very nice presentation. Parking: The public parking is close by,a few minutes from the restaurant. Easy to google it and plenty of parking spaces. Very safe. Strongly recommended.
Best restaurant for fish in Toronto!
Exceptionally delicious food, especially the Portuguese-style fish. The staff was very friendly
Amazing food and service.
Creative filling tasty portions with a real Arabian flair!
I was invited for a business lunch to this exceptional restaurant . The interior is warm and luxurious with a hint of subdued elegance. The menu has an excellent selection of fish & seafood prepared in many variations, not to mention fish is flown in from Portugal. The staff are attentive and the maître d as well as hostess provide a refined level of service . I thoroughly enjoyed Grilled filet of Grouper cherry tomato, jalapeño salsa and a Portuguese beer . The food was delicious and delectable. This is definitely on my list of restaurants to have a romantic & elegant dinner with my wife.
This gem of a restaurant never disappoints. We have been coming here over the years, and the food continues to be outstanding. If you love fish, this is the place for you!
Outstanding attention to detail.
Charming place , the food to excellence , staff extremely friendly , highly recommended.
Visited here for dinner and thought the food was tasty. The chorizo and Natas do Ceu were both exceptional so both are definitely worth a try. We also loved the complimentary bread. The monkfish was cooked very well but I felt the sauce to be a little overpowering. The biggest problem I had was with our waiter (remembered he had a french accent). He was so cold, didnt even greet or introduce himself, never smiled, and never said goodbye after we finished eating. The waiter (bald with glasses) at the table beside us, however, was really nice and even offered to take our plates away when our waiter was not present so I wish I could have given him a tip. I also overheard the waiter at the table beside us explain the specials, something our waiter never did.
Delicious food and exceptional service
Felt very welcome and had amazing service.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Very diligent with my celiac needs. Gluten-free options are easily available.
Delish! Amazing service.
I was really impressed by this place. We went here for the winterlicious lunch menu and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The food was good quality, well made and satisfying. The decor is a vibe and well maintained. Well deserved 5 stars
Tonight was Winterlicious in Toronto. We picked Chiado to eat out, hearing good things....We right away felt rushed by our senior waiter, ( we were a first sitting arriving at 6.30) ...very efficient, but he was curt and clipped with us when we asked questions and the 3 of us all felt quite rushed with his nervous over the shoulder back checks and lack of attention to our actual presence as people. Food was amazing of course. We sat next to the kitchen, and loved the energy flowing for there...funny that they were less rushed than our waiter who just seemed to want us to leave. One small complaint..we took home our desserts. 2 of us ordered creme Carmel. When we opened the boxes we found the restaurant had cut ONE creme Carmel in 2 and boxed them separately. Tacky. Also..they were far, far below par quality wise..just meh really for a half a dessert? Not impressed.
We had a lovely experience. They took our jackets. Escorted us to our seats. Started us with bread, deliciously pickled olives and fine olive oil. We were there for Wintericious 2024 so we had 3 course. The Lobster and Shrimp Bisque was nice! The Skate Fish is meaty and delicious, highly recommended! Seasoned to perfection and flavourful. And the Gingerbread cake was a delicious touch! Our waiters were all fantastic! Very attentive! And the decor and ambiance was very high class. The stars and reviews don t lie! Worth the money.
The food and service here was top notch! I shared the seafood platter appetizer and the grilled octopus for lunch - fantastic! will definitely be coming back!
Its my first time visiting this restaurant. Today I enjoy winterlicious menu. All the food is so delicious.
Reserved for a going away party. Everyone loved the food, the ambiance and the service was impeccable.
Amazing food and service! The grilled squid is the best in the city. The sea bass and tiger shrimp were great too. All the seafood was cooked perfectly. The table olives and bread was a nice touch. They brought out a birthday cake and port wine that was nice. It got busy and had an older crowd. The white table clothes change the vibe.
We had a Winterlicious dinner for 7 people. It is a very beautiful restaurant! The food was fantastic and served on beautiful warmed plates. Everyone enjoyed their dishes! The service is beyond compare. The servers did a fantastic job! Overall I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
Winterlicious! Do not miss it!
Really high quality service, food was amazing and cooked perfectly, it s very nice and cozy inside. It was my wife s birthday, we had our birthday cake there, they even washed our baby s bowl we brought from home. They really made feel at home.
Fantastic meal highly recommend.
This is one of my favourite places to take my family to over the years! Their service is always spectacular, and the atmosphere is always great! Never had a bad experience. I had their Assorda the first time I went. Ever since then, that has been my entree of choice every single time! Thank you for the delicious food!
Came here based on the high reviews but we were disappointed. We had the salmon tartar, fig salad, octopus and lobster risotto. The salmon tartar had no flavour. The octopus was rubbery and the risotto had a bulgur like texture to it and was so dry as opposed to smooth and creamy. We had really high expectations for a place that claims to serve fresh seafood directly from Portugal but the meal left us feeling really bad and nauseous.
The food was amazing and very delicious. It was presented well and the portions were a good size as well. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable which is nice. I highly recommend the calamari, you won t regret it. Overall, lovely place to have dinner with friends, family or a date.
Impeccable service, amazing food, especially grilled octopus. It was really tender and flavourful. Also very nice presentation. Food
Enjoyed my evening here. Celebrated my girlfriends birthday, we werent interested in any dessert because we were so full, however our waiter was kind enough to bring my girlfriend and I over a glass of port wine along with a candle. Lovely night.
Great place to share fine Portuguese dishes and wine with friends
Antonio and Mariah took such great care of us. This staff clearly has their fine dining training down like the back of their hand. From greeting to wine service, timing to charisma - Chiado is unparalleled in the service department. Cannot stress how amazing the food is. Chef Sergio and the team have every technique and presentation mastered. Complex flavours and presentation without the stuffiness one would expect at this calibre. Amazing all around and I will be back soon!
Great Portuguese food and great service.
Hands down the best portuguese restaurant in Toronto top tier
Great restaurant with delicious dishes, especially fish and seafood!
Excellent food and service
Date night My husband took me here prior to the TML game and it was amazing!! Staff are incredible food is beyond perfect! We had soup and salad, white fish and dessert cheesecake and lemon tart ! Make a reservation online!
Great service and food. We had a fantastic time dining in for dinner. Highly recommend the sausage appetizer. Pass on the squid, but yes on the calamari. Food : 5/5
Service and food was amazing. I ordered from the winterlicious menu, which offered a three course meal. Portions were perfect and hot arriving to the table.
Delicious food and great service.
You can definitely taste the quality of their food. You basically get what you pay for. The price is a bit on the pricy side, but at the end of the day, its an upscale Portuguese restaurant with quality service and delicious food. I would highly recommend the squid and lamb. I will definitely be returning. Parking: Side street parking, depending on what time you get there, parking can be hard to find.
Excellent food! Great service!
Food was flavorless and some items were bitter. In addition, the head waiter was unfriendly.
Excellent service and exquisite taste, that is without a doubt. However, having been to high-end restaurants in multiple countries, including Portugal, I do believe price here is not justified for the overall experience.
Fantastic service,super awsome food
Service, staff, atmosphere, ingredients: impeccable. The food is clearly made with high end ingredients. It was absolutely 5 star flavors three years ago. But we went recently for a winterlicious lunch, which we enjoyed immensely, but cannot say the flavors blew us away. The arctic char was cooked to absolute perfection, and somehow they infused the flavors right in the flesh of the char, which was delightful. Other dishes were very good, but as someone else mentioned, very good doesn t quite warrant the prices asked for. The desserts were a disappointment, something chocolate was chewy but not very tasty. The ginger cake was dry as dust. We enjoyed ourselves, but not Michelin level flavor or price this time. Perhaps just a winterlicious glitch.
The service was fantastic, the ambiance was lovely. The grouper carpaccio was an amazing app. Grilled sardines mediochre. Lobster bisque was terrible. Rack of lamb was cooked perfectly but average tasting. Grilled octopus was cooked nicely but lacked flavor. 1 glass of wine and the bill was $300 + tip. We were disappointed based on all the reviews.
Spent Valentine s Day here and had a great experience! The overall service, environment, food was great. Would definitely recommend duck confit (appetizer) and sea bass! Would definitely come back again.
Absolutely incredible! We came here for Valentine s Day and we re greeted promptly, well taken care of. My date also spoke Portuguese and waiters were communicating with him. It was a great experience! I ordered the lamb as medium rare, and the beef steak with frites. Everything tasted incredible.
This place was hands down fantastic! Amazing FRESH Fish and delicious flavors on every dish. If youre in the mood for Portuguese cuisine and great wines, come try this place. Food
Not amazing, price is too expensive
My friends and I came for winterlicious a few weeks ago. I got the salmon tartar, cod, and I think it was a cherry tart? Everything tasted pretty good though the main dish was just a bit too oily for my liking. Not sure if Id go again but it was a good experience. Food
very expensive chewy seafood with no taste! At over a $150 bucks a head with booze this is not a place I will ever go to again
Spent my anniversary here and it was amazing!
This was a great first experience dining at Chiado! When you walk inside, the restaurant has a nice ambiance. The space inside was smaller than I expected compared to what I saw walking past by but plenty of room between tables which was nice. There are lots of amazing fish dishes which really amazed me, and everything we had was really delicious. Definitely would come back again!
Chiado used to be my favourite restaurant. I hadnt been there for quite some time and decided to go with my family, a party of 7, for my birthday. We were greeted at the door by a rather aloof maitre D. We were seated, and the service was excellent. The food, however, seems to have dramatically increased in cost (like most restaurants), but the cooking was a little off. The cod was greasy, the lobster shrimp bisque was adequate at best, the grilled calamari a little tough, and the Natas do Ceu were nothing like what it used to be. It seemed to lack the almond liquor it claimed to have. I must say the skate and risotto was very good. Unfortunately, I think Ill wait a while before I go back again.
We visited for my husbands birthday. The reception was warm and welcoming. Our appetizers were excellent, and the grouper carpaccio was out of this world. Wine selection was superb. The only disappointing experience were our mains. We both ordered fish (cant remember the portuguese names). It was covered in so many spices and pastes that we couldnt taste the fish. Desserts were superb also. Otherwise, of course its 5 stars.
Excellent experience. Octopus, oysters, shrimp, squid and fish were the freshest seafood Ive had in Toronto, cooked to perfection! Highly knowledgeable staff. Brilliant selection of wines from Portugal. Food
Fantastic service, food was excellent. I was full for days afterwards.
The food was amazing, and a lot in portion. Tried their tiger shrimp and monk fish
Good food at good price.
I had not been to Chiado in a long time and came back, it still is as I remembered it! The service is always so awesome and great! The food was amazing, the octopus was to die for! Definitely a must try restaurant in Toronto!!!
Chiado is a fantastic choice for seafood lovers with a great selection of Portuguese wine. Servers are super friendly and attentive.
Attended a beautiful family event in the wine cellar dinning room . Food and service were excellent which made it exceptional as part of our enjoyment and memorable for all.
Food and service were amazing
The quality of food at Chiado is top notch. The service is excellent and professional & the surroundings make you feel like youve traveled somewhere away from the busy city. The sardines were mouth watering while the octopus was rich in flavour & very filling. I will have to return to try some more options. Dietary restrictions: My wife has a shellfish allergy & the server took extra care while handling our orders/sides.
A hidden Gem! Portuguese fine dining at its best! The grilled fish 10/10. All food was great.
Great place to enjoy someones company
Amazing experience. Great food, great service. Nice environment. Everything you could ask for.
Great spot for Portuguese seafood! Absolutely delicious!
Excellent!!! Very nice experience from the start to the end. Definitely a Seafood loves heavy . Fresh fish with fresh side vegetables, daily creative soup is a must try too, everything is beautifully displayed, like food like art. I definitely will be back to try more dishes.
Fantastic food. Great service. Awesome place. Totally worth it.
The food was done very well. Perfectly cooked fish. It was delicate and not aggressively seasoned so I could appreciate the fish itself. The restaurant was beautiful but was a little small and I was seated right next to the loud kitchen. It was difficult to understand the waiter and I dont believe he understood me either. Ended up giving up on asking questions. Friendly otherwise.
I celebrated my birthday with 7 friends this evening at Chiado. Our servers were Antonio and Paolo. Everything from the service, to food was 5 star. There isnt one negative thing I can think of. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Visited this place with my work colleagues. The service is outstanding. The food was good and the atmosphere was really nice. The place has a menu selection for a fixed price. Pretty straightforward and efficient. Food
I ve always wanted to dine at Chiado so Summerlicious presented a perfectly opportunity for that. I enjoyed the starter salad and the dessert (dark choco cake) but the skate dish and its accompaniment risotto were overly peppery for my taste. Both were lightly seasoned except for black pepper. The main dish was extremely filling and couldn t finish all the risotto. I had a taste of the grilled veggie starter and the bass main and they were very tasty! Our server was attentive and the restaurant has a relaxing vibe and beautifully decorated.
-water is never filled, always have to tell the water to add water -average service but ask for mandatory 20% service fee at the end -we have 8 people, asked to separate into 3 bills and got refused Never again, thanks
We visited during summerlicious. Currently our second favorite Portuguese restaurant. I had the sardines appetizer with salmon steak. My partner had the salmon appetizer with duck. The salmon dishes were delicious and had fresh fish. The duck was slightly dry and the sardines were bland. Maybe we will come back and try the regular menu.
Really good food
Loved this place. The food and service were absolutely amazing and an example of what fine dining should look and feel like.
Thank you, Antonio for such an amazing service, we really enjoyed our time at Chiado.
Lamb rack too fatty, very gamey. Risotto very undercooked Fish burnt These dishes are $50 + Food : 1/5 |
Amazing restaurant. The food was superb and the waiters were also very informative and helpful.
Beautiful restaurant and as soon as you enter you are warmly greeted by many staff members but they dont overwhelm you. Food was incredible from bread to dessert everything was immaculate. All the staff are so friendly and I couldnt be happier. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian risotto is amazing
Still one of the best seafood restaurants in the GTA. Service was excellent.
Excellent fish and seafood! Friendly service.
Review is based on their summerlicious menu as those are the items we have tried. While the food was ok, it didnt meet my expectation for the price per person. Cant recommend for the value for $$.
So good!
Amazing
The food here is nothing short of incredible, offering a delectable array of authentic Portuguese dishes that transport your taste buds straight to Lisbon. But what truly sets Chiado apart is their exceptional staff. They go above and beyond to make your dining experience memorable. The selection of wines perfectly complements the cuisine.
Amazing culinary experience, service, ambiance and wine
Pleased with the service. Food was delicious. Desserts had a large variety to choose from. Overall, pleasant experience, very good. Food : 5/5 |
The food and service were exceptional. We went to celebrate our anniversary and we were welcomed kindly. The seafood was delicious and flavorful. I would definitely go again to celebrate our next milestone.
I called this restaurant to make a reservation but the guy on the phone he said we close our kitchen by 9 on their website it says they are open till 10 but the guy on the phone was doing argument with me its really weird not recommended i told him im gonna be there in 15 mins and he said if you re not here by 9 we can t serve u literally doesn t make any sense I ve been to so many restaurants never happened anything like that
@chiadotoronto I loved you with all my heart and soul ! Portugese food at its best; especially for the my fellow pescatarians Heres what I devoured ~ Sardines marinated with lemon ~ Lobster & Shrimp bisque ~ Grilled Scorpion Fish (off menu) ~ Traditional Portugese stew ( off menu ) . . The off menu items are seasonal and you get to choose from an assortment of fine fish. At @chiadotoronto eat your seafood like a king This restaurant is definitely in my top list of 5/5 #torontofood #ossington #torontofoodies #restaurantreview #clickoftheday #trending #trendingpost #foodie #foodstagram #datenight #finedining #ossingtonfood #torontofoodies #foodblogger #dinnerdate #collegestreet
Absolutely outstanding. From the fresh bread, olive oil and Moroccan olives (house prepared) to the wild mushroom soup, grilled squid then lobster risotto, wow, just wow. And sharing the whole experience with my best friend. I wish I had another stomach.
Much much better than I remembered 10 years ago when I was here for winterlicious. The service before was pretentious but this time I feel they were genuine and friendly. Food were very well prepared, though very pricey. A main fish dish cost about $50-60, thank god it was fresh and large portion! Its a older sophisticated atmosphere here, good for chatting and business dinners. Overall I am glad I came back here, because I would love them to do well as they have been here so long they must be doing something right.
Enjoyed it.
Today s dinner is a Portuguese dish. The appetizer is salmon tartare mixed with apple diced and avocado diced, served with three types of grilled bread. The texture is dense and rich. The main course is grilled large grouper from Portugal, served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes, and served with pumpkin sauce. The dish is as excellent as ever. The grouper has fully locked in the juice and is delicious. The final dessert is the mixed berry chocolate tart. The portion is large and not very sweet. The table wine is 20-year-old Graham Bourbon sweet wine, which I like very much.
It is one of the best restaurant with an amazing service, great atmosphere and exquisite food. Definitely will come here again! Food
Love love love! The food is so delicious, the wine selection is superb and the service outstanding! It s so wonderful at Chiado!
100% would recommend anyone. My taste is quite selective but they had such a wide variety of foods that anyone would enjoy! My friend enjoyed a very delicious Icelandic bass while I had brilliant steak. the costumer service was fantastic! Place was so clean and welcoming! Only thing is price is quite large but worth it!
Amazing food and attentive staff
Ive ate at most of the top restaurants in the city and I can easily say Chiado far exceeds all the others. Excellent quality food (very fresh and tasty), large size portions, and great service! My new favorite restaurant in the city. I will definatly be going back and highly recommend it!
We were there for a birthday party. Amazing service and food !!!
Really good ambience. Fantastic service and tasty food. The fish dishes are delightful, filling and accompanied with a variety of vegetables. I forgot to take photos. Great presentation of the food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chiado restaurant and had an outstanding experience. One of the highlights of my visit was undoubtedly the exceptional fish dishes that Chiado offers. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients were evident in each bite.
Wow what a great meal and fantastic staff Food
came for summerlicious service 10/10 food 7/10 value for money 2/10
Came for summerlicious and the food was not worth the price. The appetizers and desserts were good, but I found the entrees to be bland and not exciting. The service was okay, I found all the servers to be above us and unwelcoming. Not the kind of experience youd expect from such a high-end restaurant. The salmon tartar was amazing, the best dish of the night. It was very fresh, and the combination of salmon, avocado, and beet was interesting and delicious. The grilled squid wasnt my favourite, my partner really liked it. But I found the grill marks to be too strong and very little flavour to the squid. The lamb rack was cooked well, but again, no seasoning. The sides were all good and I really enjoyed them, but I was hoping for at least some kind of sauce. The skate fish was not good, I found the fish didnt taste fresh, and while the risotto was well made, the fish just overwhelmed the entire dish. The chocolate cake was nice and dense and well made. It went very well with the mousse and raspberries. The lemon tart was also delicious and a good portion size. We both really enjoyed it!
Exceptional food and service. Check it out and you wont regret it.
Amazing meal, fantastic service. Highly recommended
We have been coming here for many years. Every time we are in Toronto Chiado is a must. Today it is even better then it has been in the past and it always have been superb.
Excellent service and amazingly delicious food! Perfect for date night or catch-up with an old friend !
We have been at this wonderful restaurant many times before Covid. This has been our first time since Covid and it is just as excellent as before. The service was exceptional. My wife had the octopus and I had a whole grilled Ocean Perch. Both were excellent and together with our appetizers of goat cheese and tuna tartar were beautifully presented. We do miss the visual presentation of fresh fish they used to show. We will be back.
Amazing food with superb service! Ambience was great too! Very pricey but definitely worth going for special occasions.
Great portuguese high quality food. Lots of fresh fish optins and delicious appetizers. Fantastic staff. You wont be disappointed.
Portuguese restaurant , menu mostly seafoodsc! Appetizers are pretty However no dishes are that special! Lobster bisque on the thin side. My grilled fish special tonight is very good! Can try
Great food and service.
We had a private room downstairs - excellent service, wonderful food - the poached pears weee magnificently presented.
It s and outstanding experience !! The food is one of the best I have had in Toronto. Deserts are amazing
Had a fantastic meal with my sister and brother-in-law on 11/12. I had the lobster bisque and filet of cherne for the main course. I tried something a little different for desset, the natas do ceu...a little like a Portuguese version of tiramisu. Very friendly staff and great service. Ate breve!
Wonderful food! Professional and friendly service. Vegetarian options: Upon request. Food : 5/5 |
Friendly staff, and delicious seafood menu. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was welcoming and we didnt want to leave. Will definetly come back again
I went there last night with my wife and a good couple friend. ambiance was nice and cozy and well decorated .service from the waiter was very good and attentive but what threw me over the edge was looking at the prices of the items they were almost double for everything, the appetizers, entrees, and desserts compared to most other good quality restaurants offering similar quality meals. The food itself was 3 + to 4 out of 5 ,somewhat on the bland side but presented beautifully. I would have given this a 4.5-star had it not been for the price which came out to $800 for all of us including tips and tax or $200 a head( and no we didnt order any Dom Perignon or Chateau Lafayette instead we had a total of five martinis amongst us) As stated above I can get very similar quality meals if not better for half the price in a lot of places in the big TO so for that reason alone I will not be coming back
Great restaurant at Dundas and Ossington. Menu of fish or meat with friendly service,
Great service and the food was amazing. Loved the fish and the wine selection. Must try it.
Great meal. Great service. Not cheap, but worth the price. Fish is the specialty done in a high-end portugese style with awesome attention to detail. Great service - not rushed - not pushy - just focused on making the experience amazing in an understated but elegant manner.
Came here on me and my dads birthday on a Monday- it was pretty busy but service was amazing and the servers gave great recommendations! We ordered: Steamed Clams Carpaccio of Grouper Roasted Australian Rack of Lamb Grilled Octopus Pan Seared Sea Bass Natas do Ceu Peras Cozidas The clams were perfectly cooked and very tasty. I love Carpaccio but never had Grouper of it before and it was a very mild fish, thicker cut than I expected and dressed with well balanced acidic flavours. The rack of Lamb was so tender and cooked perfectly. The grilled Octopus is something I order at almost every restaurant and this was one of the best Ive ever had! The thick cut tentacle was extremely tender and juicy, you have to order it! Desserts were a bit too sweet for us but thr Pear Dessert is very unique and great presentation. Cant wait to come back one day!
Love the fish! Great service as well
