They are super slow, it take forever for them to make food

The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly.

I have been ordering takeout at Rogers Rd. location. Last night, I decided to place an order for pickup at this location as I realized this is closer to where I live. I am quite disappointed with the food quality. Very opposite to the quality of food at the other location. Prep time took longer. Chicken is salty. Ribs are dry and very salty to eat that I was able to brush off lots of rock salt from it. Unbelievable given the price of their food. I wasnt able to get what I paid for. It is such a shame to sell food at a pricey amount but the quality sucks! Will not go back at this location again.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Terrible experience and extremely disappointed. Chicken was burnt and dry - completely inedible. This should have been thrown in the garbage by the restaurant not served to a customer. The sauce was also missing from the order.

Went today to get a whole chicken combo, food is really good but I felt like the guy that was taking our order acted as if we were asking for free food, he was rude and had an attitude towards me and my mom and the only reason I didn t tell him anything was because my mom really liked coming here. We will not be coming back, thanks for your service.

was driving up to get fast food and thought I dont want my stomach to hurt tomorrow. I want something nutritious and tasty. I took a left down to the end of Saint Clair to good old Martins barbeque chicken. It was late in the sweet lady with short red hair petite had a big lineup, but she serve me carefully and remembered every item and gave me a smile and thanked me. The chicken was an 8.78 out of 10 the Portuguese tart 9.5 out of 10 thank you guys. It was terrific.

Disappointing

First time visiting, we ordered the two chicken family meal with rice and potatoes and my kids and I thought it was the best tasting Portuguese BBQ chicken ever, perfectly salted and juicy meat. Potatoes were excellent and the hot sauce received rave reviews. Great salad bar too, we enjoyed the Greek salad. For desert the custard tarts were very tasty.

Was my first, and now last order from this place. Ordered Prego No Pao for $23.50+tax, received a small bun and a dry thin piece of meet in between. And that s the whole dish for $23.50+tax! Zero description in the menu as per what to expect Excuse me??? I m sorry but that s way out of line. I don t tend to leave negative reviews, but that s just ridiculous. Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, you do not have any options available as toppings or modifications to the mentioned dish above, nor any description about it. So there was no way to know about what s coming beforehand, neither add anything to it . Picture attached.

Small chicken

I used to buy food there every time I was around. Price, but good meet options. Today I got some pork chops for lunch. And it was clear the meet was prepared days before. The attendant told me it was the same day. I think is disrespectful. I said I have no time to go there and show you guys. Next time I should have a discount, and she said I should talk to the boss. I said better I don t buy there anymore. She said: OK bye! Disrespectful with a regular customer. For sure I won t buy there anymore.

Martins Churrasquira take out meals are very accessible Potatoes and rice were somewhat bland when it comes to flavor chicken was delicious my kids enjoy eating here anytime . Will be coming back. Custards are amazing .

I was recommended Martin s by a Portuguese friend of mine and decided to UberEats an order this weekend. They had an incredible BOGO special so I said why not. I ordered the quarter chicken dinner with potatoes and veggies and everything was absolutely 10/10 fall off the bone delicious. So yesterday I didn t want to cook and we ordered their steak combo: we got a steak, a fried egg and generous servings of potatoes and veggie rice. Everything absolutely amazing. Will continue to bring my business here!!

Ive passed by this place many times, the location is in a very good spot for local advertising. I dont eat out often so it took me a while to get a chance to try the menu. I was not disappointed. I ordered a quarter chicken dinner. The parisienne potatoes were absolutely delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and very flavorful. I also ordered a small portion of BACALHAU A GOMES DE SA. Very tasty and satisfying. While there was plenty of cod fish in the dish, its flavor was muted by the other ingredients like cream, olive oil, garlic and potatoes. Just my personal opinion, Id still eat it again though! The staff were friendly and inviting! I planned to take it and go, but I did end up sitting down to eat here (I know its mainly a catering location) and was provided quality cutlery and a place mat. After enjoying my meal, I grabbed a custard tart on my way out, and that thing was also delicious. Thanks for the meal, see you again! Parking: I stopped in on the weekend. So parking was a breeze. I know its not always the case during the weekday when all the businesses around it are open.

Nowhere close to as good as the original place on rogers , food is mediocre and extremely expensive, they wanted $25 per octopus tentacle that s right i was in awe when I heard , chicken was dry but rice and potatoes were good , veal scallopini was not the greatest also paid by weight and expensive , will not comeback or recommend

Food was delicious as usual, though I didnt appreciate the distasteful note I received with my delivery. When offering Chicken with the included option of sauce, asking for it to be on the side is standard practice across all Portuguese places Ive ever ordered chicken before. If that is not the case, please make it clear in the online menu. Id appreciate it instead of this note.

Again another great experience on the take out. Ordered for app. 30 people. Great tasting food. Nice and warm when it got home. Like the bags they give to keep food warm and avoid spillage in the car. 5 stars all around and recommended.

So impressed with ordering for takeout at this location. The food is the best Portuguese chicken we have found and the sauce is amazing. Easy to order over the phone and they packaged the order up so well. The insulated bag was key. I appreciate that bag. I will order again from the location because of the bag hands down. Everything was so delicious. Especially the buns. Wow! My only complaint is that we didn t receive a dressing for the salad so I had to make my own but not a huge deal.

This place is a gem. Please dont change.

Tried the chicken. It was good but Im not sure it is the best chicken in the city. We had the family pack with chicken, rice and potatoes. All of it was good. Four stars because I thought it was a decent value.

Love this off-the-beaten-path Portuguese bistro. Very cozy and the service is excellent. The food is alway good and consistent. My wife is half Portuguese so we know good quality homemade meal. Lots of self-imported Portuguese wines to be had and was recommended a rich full-bodied white from Alentejano for $50. Will always be our go-to Portuguese restaurant.

Im not one to write reviews but honestly this place has gone downhill. I was a regular customer at this place, every weekend I would go and get food, last couple of times I have been very disappointed. Today I went in to get food, ordered 2 bacalhau com natas to go, I noticed he didnt have enough for the 2 portions and he would definitely go to the kitchen to replace the tray, that didnt happen, he proceeded to divide what was ab out 1 portion and 1/4 into 2 takeout containers, my portions were horribly served this is the last time I will ever get food here!!!

First time good food, good service

I really wanted to love this place. Whenever I order it s either a hit or a miss. I literally write to this store in English and in Portuguese to make the food well done. All I keep receiving is raw food. I don t understand why. The manager just brushes me off to contact Uber for a refund, I rather just have my food done properly the first time instead of requesting refunds. To have a staff literally ignore EVERY single note, that s honestly a safety hazard and showcases poor customer service. UPDATE: are you really trying to argue with me over fish that you didn t cook properly??? If you used this time to cook my fish correctly, I wouldn t be complaining. Photo is #1 from your restaurant when I asked for well done BEFORE (which I was very happy with) it is shown to be grilled with the deep grill marks and actually has the olive oil on the side. Photo #2: what is this? Your restaurant is not consistent whatsoever and I ve never been rude to your staff NOR raised my voice.

The food and portions were really good. The service was quick. the only thing I wish is that the sauce for the chicken was a little thicker like the one you get from Távora. They had other options on the hot table that looked super delicious and will definitely be going back to try.

Very disappointed in my order. Placed an order for deliver from UberEats, on the menu only the dinner items show the chicken with a side of potatoes and the classic orange rice with veggies. But I wanted a larger order so ordered a whole chicken, large potatoes, large rice and veggies, all on the side. Even put a note that I wasn t sure if the rice was the veggie rice but that this was the one I wanted and willing to pay extra for it. When received, the chicken was spilling all over the bag, it was even leaking on the floor where the driver dropped it off. The rice was white rice that was not seasoned and so bland and over cooked. The veggies looked like over cooked frozen vegetables, and the potatoes were incredibly stale. Honestly the only thing good was the chicken was decent but smothered in sauce and the natas for dessert we re delish! For a brand that advertises to be the best Portuguese chicken in Toronto I strongly disagree! You should strongly reevaluate how you have your menu listed on uber eats and include photos. As well as looking at better ways to pack your food.

Walking the Humber River trail and took a side trip for lunch. Experience all round could not have been better. Service, food, and the Portuguese Tarts were the best we have ever had. Top recommendation.

I called to inquire about pricing for an event, and I spoke with a woman at the Rogers location, who was really nice. She then got me the manager so he would be able to answer my inquires, and he was very rude, not helpful, and was speaking with such an attitude. Because of How he spoke and presented this location, I will not be giving them my business. Which is very unfortunate, because the food here is amazing.

Enjoyed dinner recently and the daily special of turf and turf was excellent. Just the right portions and the family style food opens makes it great did sharing. It s like having dinner at someone s home.

This small Portuguese bistro is hidden in the small area of Lambton on the very end of St Clair West Bring your appetite as this place grills melt in your mouth Chicken and Seafood and their portions are extremely generous Last but not least, DO NOT forget to get the Portuguese Custard Tarts with your meal. Buttery, crunchy goodness *Drool* Always a busy place (for takeout) but so worth it!

The Churrasqueira was immaculately clean, the staff was kind, engaging, and friendly. The food....wow. that is the best chicken that I have had in a LONG time, and I eat chicken multiple times a week! Kudos

Although the service and food was very good, we were not impressed to hear that because we were a group of 14 people our bills could not be split up leaving one person to have to pay the entire bill. It was also disappointing that we were not able to choose how we wanted our steak cooked, only option was medium (more rare). I would have appreciated a heads up perhaps when the reservations were made that everything would have to be paid on one bill and not while we were ordering our food and informing the waitress how we wanted our bills divided. They had no trouble calling me the day of our reservation to ask if we would be okay dinning in their covered area instead of inside their dining room to accommodate a new reservation of 30 people. FYI, the bottles of flat water that are already on your table, will cost you $7 each.

Delicious food, albeit very salty. Lots of seafood options besides the chicken. They constantly have orders coming in and going out which tells me its a very popular local restaurant. Service was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Fine to dine in, but its not much of an atmosphere. Most people get food to go unless theyre on their lunch break.

OMG I don t think I have ever seen a smaller chicken. I thought they made a mistake and gave me 1/2 chicken. Tasty but NOT good value for the price.

I need to remember to pick up chicken earlier when were craving it on a Sunday. St. Matthews, just down the street, is far better both in terms of quality and price, but closes at 5pm on Sundays. I was late, and had to go here instead. Big mistake. First off, I need to order sauce on the side, because my wife doesnt like a ton of it on her chicken, and my baby kid cant handle too much spice. But if you order sauce on the side, they charge you $1 per miniscule sauce packet. No exception if you didnt get sauce on your chicken: if you want sauce, you gotta pay. Obviously, thats ridiculous, but you cant reason with these people. Id reluctantly pay a dollar for a thing or sauce if it was good, but man do I regret paying for it. The sauce was so salty you could crunch undissolved salt crystals in it. On top of that there was a inch of oil on top of this gelatinous goo that they called hot sauce. Disgusting, and upset that I paid $1 for it. The chicken itself was pretty tasty, I cant lie, but Ive seen quails that are bigger than the chicken they served me. Literally the smallest chicken Ive ever seen. I also ordered the potatoes and they were very good. On balance, while some parts of the food were good, the overall vibe I got of this place was a place that was willing to cut corners and cheap out to the detriment of the customer experience. Will not be going back, and will instead be remembering to pick up any chicken before 5pm on Sundays from St. Matthews, down the road. Seriously, check them out: they are much much better.

The chicken was extremely salty and potatoes were very bland, the rice was good though. I ve ordered from here plenty of times and the food has been better, I feel like the quality is diminishing.

If you call ahead they will make some fresh chicken wings for you...sold by weight so order what you want. They are tasty and meaty and moist...delicious! And they sell their hot or sweet sauce by the bottle so you can really indulge! AND...get a piece of the flan for dessert, the lady who makes it works there and she does it right!

Originally I rated this according to the octopus dinner. Upon reflection and taking into account what we all continue to cope with, I have adjusted my rating. The codfish croquettes are wonderful and so are the natas, so I decided to try the octopus. It smelled and tasted so fishy that I threw the dinner out, despite paying over $20. Ill stick to the chicken, codfish and natas. For these I give 4 stars

This is the real best Portuguese chicken on the west side of town. The sauce is just the tops. We had a little mix up with our order but they sorted us out.

Just ordered on skip, bag had ONE chicken drum in it (quarter dinner). It was fully sealed so I imagine this joke is on the resto. BAD

Went there and picked up food for the first time. Herd very good reviews from other people. Customer service was excellent. The food was great especially the rice and potatoes. Only thing is I found the chicken pretty dry especially the white meat so that was a bit disappointing. But the hot sauce was awesome which helped a bit with the white meat.

Had our first and best experience at Martins. Marina walked us through the menu and packaged everything up for us to have a parking lot picnic (pandemic date night). I had the steak with fried egg which was beautifully seasoned and a generous salad. The hubby had the double dark chicken and seasoned rice. Yummy. The pastel de Nata (egg tart) was so crunchy and not too sweet, just right. Well definitely be back!

My go to Portuguese chicken place has been closed for months now, so I decided to give this place a try and wow, completely unexpected. I wish I tried this place earlier! We got it delivered and they actually pack the food with care, double wrapped and hot foods separate from the cold food. Amazing chicken and delicious rice with real peas. Have to say I am ashamed I have never tried this place sooner! So good!! Highly recommend.

Cafeteria food at cafeteria prices! No, this is not the best chicken on St Clair! The chicken was overcooked, dry and under spiced. The tomato rice taste and looks no better than out of the box. I was very disappointed.
