Quick and friendly service. Dinesh was super friendly and helpful. Food was good - place is clean. Better choice than the food court.

Typical pub. Good value for money for the Lunch $10 menu available during the week (be careful, its not written on the first card the waiter gives). There were very few of us this lunchtime and yet we waited a long time before being served (the waiter seemed to be on break at the time we came). Very good sandwich, burger and fries!! For more atmosphere, go there in the evening!

Restaurant was very cold. Pop was flat. After a couple hours of shopping I was hoping for a more enjoyable experience.

The white male bartender in the dance floor doesn t know how to talk to people. He was racist and was profiling me.

Hubby & I are over 50 & have 3/4 of our children that are 20+. We were shocked when the guy at front asked us for id. Laughed it off when I grabbed my wallet for mine, but hubby didnt bring the card since he didnt drive but had it on his phone. They said they didnt accept it . Finally, he waved us off just to walk into a whole in the wall kinda pub. Food was undercooked, even for fish and chips. Drinks were tasty, but too much ice .

Incredible, huge and fun place. Worth knowing. Various environments, nice people, many types of music.

came to share my experience and looking at the reviews i see it s a trend with the racism from the owner. came for halloween with my girlfriends to meet my boyfriend and his friends. when i got ID they asked me to throw out my water bottle which was still sealed, with water, no problem. keep in mind i m a white female. let all my friends in except one because she had a water bottle, which was also sealed, with water, she is a black female. when i spoke to one of the bouncers he said if they said no its no, wouldn t give a further explanation. went to speak to the owner and right off the bat, spoke to me with pure disrespect. not only was my friend who is a POC not allowed in, but another woman who was a POC was denied entry without reasoning as well. I called him racist and he grabbed my arm, i told him do not touch me and walked away and all of a sudden, i have three male security guards grabbing me. i am a 5 7 female of 120 pounds, why do you think you need three men to grab one woman to be thrown out. people i met in line, coworkers i seen that were already there, along with my friends were disgusted by this and decided to leave because who in their right mind would want to waste their money in a place where they treat people like this. I even found a video on tiktok that showed this whole interaction and the comments seemed disturbed by the owner as well. his responses to some of these racist claims in the reviews are childish as well, you have no explanation for your behaviour in any of your comments back. at the end of our night we saw one of the bouncers on the street and he came to apologize to all of us for what happened and how terribly the owner handled things. that just puts things into perspective.

Fun place, good portions, cheap drinks, and best of all no cover fee. Local pub for university students in the area.

Update: another year, another family gathering. Food and drinks were, as usual, excellent, and a good time had by all. Kudos to Lauren for keeping us fed and watered. Well done, all! Needed a venue for an impromptu family gathering (12-15 ppl, mostly over 60). Recalled the Madison from my UofT days. Staff was very accommodating our reservation on minimal notice. Nice room, great selection of food and drink. Shoutout to Cat, our server, for an excellent job. 10/10 all round, and well be back! Dietary restrictions: Staff had no problems accommodating my allergies: celiac and nuts. Parking: Parking on Madison is a matter of luck, but there are 2 Green P lots within easy walking distance.

It s a nice pub; I usually go there for language exchange events. However, it often feels like a university pub.

Security here was weird. My friends and I were drinking beers in line, disposed of everything before entering. Didnt check my huge bag which is a security issue (Im a student and had books on me). Refused half of us entry. When asked why he simple replied alcohol, even though none of us were drunk/rowdy, just minding our own business. So TDLR if youve already drank earlier in the night, dont go here because they wont let you in.

So apparently this week they came out with a new menu, I had the Jameson Burger I think thats what it was called and then I was told to try the sticky toffee pudding these two items were amazing the sticky toffee pudding Im going to dream about awesome additions to the new menu!!!

Originally wrote a 1 star review because our group got kicked out for wearing tanktops. Management reached out to me and my group to sincerely apologize for the miscommunication between them and their security that night. We were shocked an establishment of this size/popularity still took the time to apologize and offer gift certificates for it all, kudos to the management team. Well definitely make a pitstop here as its a classic of the Annex!

I was here Saturday night the music is always bad when its this guy he takes the best part out of songs and only plays remixes. I brought my girl and left so fast spending $0 when its the bigger guy I spend money because its actually good songs w lyrics. Like actually every time I come my friends they say how do you dance to this its just edm stuff I even requested (after a good 15 songs) for one song that had no remix and the guy just shook his head no lmaooo. We walked out after that. If its not the bigger guy expect to be fist pumping the whole night 0 intimacy so good luck getting a girl you cant even dance romantically with your partner let alone a stranger. Make a song request, expect the djs fragile frame be knocked on and hell call for security. Lame 10/10 if you dont get the big guy its a 50/50 chance might as well spend your money elsewhere as Ive learned

Madison is a hotel, football, restaurant, pub, and nightclub all put together. They have done a great job in managing it accordingly and hats off to the staff for always being available. Must visit for a Manchester United game.

Instagram posted $5 Amsterdam beer for Canada Day last night and when I asked I wanted two Amsterdam beer on a disposable cup . The brunette female bartender who was working solo that night opposite of the dance floor tried to scam me of $20 ! I asked her why I was being so much and she said the Amsterdam beer deal wasn t showing on her Instagram page . I said i wasn t gonna pay that price because it s not fair as advertised so I went to the bar nearby right next to the dance floor and the gentlemen bartender with the glasses who was work solo charged me fairly as advertised. Please make sure the management advises all staff of the deals that available on any occasions and events .

Great place for chess!

I like coming here because of the casual and fun and energetic feel of the place. It s a university pub, so loud and chaotic but in a good way. A great place for a pint chat with friends

They have a regular chess tournament on Wednesdays.

My friend had a terrible experience with a cleaner named Mike, who was rude and unprofessional. He mixed different beers together, and when my friend asked him not to, he responded aggressively and used offensive language. The manager, Cecilia, blamed my friend instead of resolving the issue. As long as staff like this are employed, my friend wont recommend this place to anyone.

Its a very spacious place, great for the community, and has a diverse menu. However, it was too hot. It was really hot...

I was denied entry into the pub because I had a tank top on and the security needed to see my passport along with my government issued ID card, which already stated that Im 24. I do not understand the point of carrying around my passport and checking the dress code on their website while going to a bar to have some good time with my friend. Absolutely horrendous reason to deny entry to someone. This is just funny.

I went on a Saturday night at. Multilevel pub - like a maze, with a different DJ in each room. Very laid back vibe, it was fun.

This place has an amazing atmosphere, making it the perfect hangout spot. However, the food could be better, and the wait time for orders is often long.

You can enjoy different vibes for each floor and different sections. Reasonable price for hot spot!

This was the worst thing ever, I am Latina and I waited in the line the whole time. I walked in and they let me in and then all of a sudden they call me back and start saying I can t get in. They all of a sudden start saying I m not allowed in, they escort me to the exit and I was beyond confused. Literally just because I am a person who s not white and they decided to not let me in. I asked them over and over again what did I do, why are they not letting me in and no one gave me a single answer. I am beyond shocked and just so hurt because they kicked me out for no reason, and I am a very loyal customer and someone who really thought this place was a good place to hang. they are on a power trip and didn t like me just because I was standing out as a person of color. I have gone here on multiple occasions and today they just decided that I cannot get in. It was totally unfair and a complete shock to me and my friends. It just doesn t even make sense, they didn t like me and the way I looked and decided that no. I wasn t doing anything against their code or tried to sneak anything in, they just decided they didn t like me and I wasn t allowed in. If you want to feel like you are worth anything, don t come here to the Maddie s. Especially if you are a person of color, they will pick you out and isolate you infront of your entire friend group. Edit: reply to owner: I asked multiple times to please give me a reason why I wasn t being let in, I didn t do anything wrong. They checked my id in the line and I was going toward the bag checking area and they suddenly decided to not let me in. They made an unjustified scene in front of my friends, walked me out with no explanation. Therefore unless I m given a justifiable reason, it s the only other reason I can find. It was a very uncomfortable and unjustifiable situation to experience for no reason.

A good place for students to escape the busy study life. Many like minded people there! The variety of their four floors is excellent! A piano man, pool tables, a pub and a disco floor! Together with a huge multiple floor patio! Great in summer and winter! Free entry for everyone! Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.

This place is filled with young students on weekends and can be quite noisy. Ordered nachos and they were ok. Nachos were hot but instead of real cheese, they used some type of cheese sauce. Always line up for washrooms. Tables and floors are a little sticky.

Chloe the bartender is the best

My friend had an empty can to throw out in the garbage can that was 1 step past the bouncer. He didn t let her in for that reason and made up lies about how we can get in, such as waiting 30 minutes or getting back in line. They were extremely rude and never let us back in after waiting over an hour outside in the cold, yet continued to let underage kids in. Don t come here unless you want to be insulted by the bouncers and catch a charge with 17 year olds

The food was mediocre at best, the bouncers are on a power trip of a life time and clearly dont know how to read an american id. i cannot believe my group made reservations 2 MONTHS in advance to come to this horrid establishment. dont waste your time!

This place is awesome. The staff here are some of the most welcoming and lovely people I ve ever met. When you go to check it out be sure to TIP YOUR SERVERS! Doesn t matter if you get one drink or a meal for the fam. They work much harder than you think so YOU can enjoy your time there.

Everything was 4/5 I really loved it. But all that made my whole experience 5/5 was Cira. Thankyou for having us and making it spontaneous. She asked us about everything like cherry on top. And even 4 went to 5 because of her. I like the food and service was fabulous. Will defined come again.

The worst experience ever! my latina friend got kicked out for no reason and when asked they just insulted us. Honestly so unprofessional for a bar to treat people of colour differently, getting kicked out of line without a reason is unacceptable and creates Toronto to be a bad place to go out in. Stay away!

I go here regularly for football/soccer game on the weekend. I appreciate the fact they open the place that early Staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a special menu for early games which is amazing as we can get good breakfast options. They have a large selections of beers and drinks so that also helps. Sometimes I do feel they are short staffed for big games which the servers end up suffering as they just can t keep up with peoples request.

Ok this place is super trendy, great for the younger crowd, as a 40 year old women, I can say it was fun, but maybe not for us, but fantastic for the collage crew. Now with that said, we had the most fantastic server named Zack, he was super friendly and attentive given that it was shoulder to shoulder people and I m sure he was super busy, then I left my phone and he went above and beyond and found me outside to return it. That small act of kindness was worth more to me then anything else, I wish that young man all the best in everything he does, and i may not go back but if you do, ask for Zack, you will not be disappointed.

My friend lost his coat here, and the owner did nothing about it. Didn t even offer a basic apology at the VERY least. As you can see the owner replies to previous customers who have had a bad experience gaslighting them. As the reason why my friend did not write a review. Terrible management in my opinion, my friend has booked booths/ tables multiple times with extreme disorganization, in some cases having to wait upwards of a hour to get in. terrible customer service and I will not be coming here again. It s childish that the manager chooses to respond to peoples bad reviews in a distasteful manner. I expect he will do the same here.

Yesterday I hosted a small group and Zak took care of us. He was kind and efficient as he gave everyone a number so they could pay their tab. I really appreciate him and the booking staff who helped me make this event possible. A few of us stayed after for dinner and we were all satisfied. We ordered fish & chips, salmon, Mac & cheese, and crispy chicken sandwich. All were tasty. I had a great first impression here. Thank you
