The Fox in Toronto

The Fox is located about 700 meters from the Union Station in Toronto. The drinks menu is comprehensive. As it was the World Cup time during which I visited with friends, the menu was a limited menu. But you wont be hungry. The menu options were delicious and cater to both non- vegetarians and vegetarians alike. The ambiance is a perfect North American pub setting and is a great place to hang out and watch a game. Highly recommend.

Good prices on beer before a game and really close!

The pasta lacked flavor, and even adding salt and pepper didn t improve it.

Good customer service but horrible food. Would not recommend.

Too pricey for burnt fish and chips. Lots of better options available downtown. Never going back

We had our Team work lunch this past Wednesday and Kat was an amazing server!! So kind and helpful! We had a reservation for 10 people, but 4 extra people showed up and she was super kind and accommodating. Kat provided great customer service and was a joy to chat with. So happy we chose The Fox, the food was tastey and Kat made such an impact, we will be back!

It is okay for server to forget the order. When Ernest ( if name is correct) was informed about he forgot it and I had to ask someone. He was offended and replied rudely I was busy.

Came in as I had low blood sugar and was struggling to walk. I told the barman, and I had cola in seconds. 2nd cola arrived automatically. Once recovered, I had a beer and foo. Cold beer, great burget and really friendly staff. I cant praise this place and the staff high enough.

Every single day they put a heavy A-frame sign out blocking the only portion of the sidewalk that someone with accessiblility issues can enter 33 Bay St and 18 Harbour St from on Bay St. With a stroller we have to stop and move it every time, but what are people in wheelchairs and with walkers and seniors supposed to do? This has been brought to their attention multiple times by multiple residents and they continue to block the sidewalk to the ramp.

Friendly atmosphere. Pleasant meal with excellent fries. The prices are correct but the minimum tip offered is 18%, instead of the classic 15%. Nice for a simple and effective meal.

Unfortunately this is not a food/drink review but the staff are great and helped me out when I needed medical attention after tripping near the traffic crossing. Thank you

The service is impeccable. The fries are exceptional. The salmon was to die for, cooked to perfection. However, the pot pie was too salty. The fish and chips had fish that was a little dry. But overall a great place to eat. Dietary restrictions: Not enough options for gluten free. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu needs more variety i.e. pizza

The prices are a little high but its the ideal place to watch baseball games. Numerous indoor screens and large outdoor terrace.

BEWARE OF ORDERING ANY MEALS FROM HERE! It s extremely hit or miss (and by that I mean, every plate is 95% miss with - maybe, if you re lucky - 1 slightly redeeming quality in the dish). Constantly having to send cold/burned/tasteless stuff back, ask for forgotten items, getting the wrong order, request basic things which should ve been included and keep being overcharged for food that I never even received?! Last dish I got had ingredients in it that had already gone bad?! I ve seen poor hygiene practices too, unfortunately (not only with their kitchen/the food they put out but additionally, they constantly have fruit flies and unclean carpets/chairs). Also - their customer service is extremely poor and disappointing. Staff are very unhelpful and unprofessional. I ve given them multiple chances but it really feels like this place does not care about you as a patron/consumer, at all. PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE.

Great bar and restaurant with really friendly staff. Large portions and great beer!!! We had been here in the afternoon for a few ( 7th May 24) and decided to come back for dinner. I didnt sadly didnt get the barmans name in the afternoon, but, hed been to our home city, Glasgow, Scotland.

The staff were friendly and quick! The steak I had was amazing. Perfect medium rare and seasoned just right.

Had a fantastic family brunch on my birthday eve. We all had poutine for the first time ever and it was delicious. Great service by Peter. Food

Came here for the first time and although I understand it was a busy night, I can never get behind how they didn t notice us for an entire hour. Didn t even get served water. Saw few servers look in our direction when we called them over but they never came our way. We finally got our food after getting one of the server s attention but was already in a bad mood to actually enjoy it. Complained about their service and they told us our second meal would be on them but I would never come back here again with their horrible customer service and an apology without a proper explanation.

Always a good place for a drink with friends!

Service was a little slow to start but then got a little better. The fries have no right to be that good! They go perfectly as a biting with beer! I would like to see more non-alcoholic options. All in all, a good place to catch with folks after work.

Our server was super nice and jolly! I ordered an Espresso Martini which was a 10/10 and shared some pub fries with my friends. Different people got different portions when they ordered their fries which was a bit weird. But it was an amazing experience overall

Our new favorite Pub for Friday after work pints.

Average looking pub with good food. But the service was fantastic considering we showed up an hour before a leafs game and they managed to take us in and feed us with time to spare!

Went to Toronto for an event at Scotia Bank Centre and went to The Fox for dinner and drinks. Fantastic atmosphere, great food and Erin and Meaghan were our servers and so friendly. We ended up going there multiple times and will go back when in Toronto next

Just wanted to order some take out, they declined my calls after 2 rings. Never getting food from here again, I have ordered from here before and live pretty close. If you dont want to work the phone than remove the damn number.

Honestly, I wasn t pleased. Like some, I stopped here after a raptors game, and got the pulled pork sandwich and a poutine. Couldn t finish the sandwich, the meat had a chemical type of taste in it and the poutine was very underwhelming. Our server, which wasn t clear who it actually was, as we only interacted 4 different times, and it was a different person each time, was not attentive. Take this review lightly, may have been an off night for the place. It s a nice spot and obviously great location, but I won t be back.

Got the wings and a beer while watching a game here. Good location, space, and atmosphere. The food was overpriced and disappointing amount though. Paid $20+ for what s said to be a lb. of wings but seemed even less. Wouldn t sit down for food with their price:food quality.

Great service from the staff members, the atmosphere is quite nice for groups and larger gatherings. However, the low review is due to the subpar food and small portions.

Popped in here before a Raptors game. It was what we needed. Quiet pub with food and drink everyone liked. The staff were friendly and made sure the TVs were on the sports we wanted. My kids loved the fries and they are pretty picky about French fries.

Really great... very friendly and attentive staff, the atmosphere is very pleasant, drinks and food are served quickly. It was delicious. Children are also welcome here. I would like to come here again at any time. 10/10

Met here for dinner before a game. Service, food and drinks were all stellar. Had the best time !!!

Came here on Jan 14th for lunch, the menu has a lot of options and the food was good, we really liked the spinach dip. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. There are lots of screens around if youre looking to watch a game. The floor did need to be cleaned as there was food on the ground from people before us. Overall good experience. I do recommend the hostess get some training as we werent even greeted when we came in the door we were just stared at and we had to ask if we could be helped.

Google says they closed at 1am Thursday on December 22nd (technically 23rd). They came by at 930 and said they are normally closed at 11, but would be closing at 10 that night due to lack of customers. At least 10 people in the pub. We saw a few The Fox patrons at the nearby Firkin shortly after. We also needed to ask the wait staff multiple times for water & switching TVs to football. The staff was not good. Next time we want to hang out in the area, were not going here.

Stopped in here with a larger group for some drinks. Staff was great in accommodating our group, and the drinks were good !

The pull pork sandwich was very tasty with the garden salad. Thank you for a great lunch. One comment I would upgrade the bread used for the sandwich.

Not much of a menu. Food was just OK. Staff were fantastic and soooo nice.

Food was not great. Not too many options on a game night when its cold out.

Great waiter, food was good too. But felt very cheap when you order apple crumble with ice cream .and then even though the ice cream is listed in the description ..there is an up charge for it??? Seemed unreasonable. Next it will be hamburger with a sesame bun .but we charge you for the bun after you get your bill.

Loved this place. Great vibes, Great food. Happened to bump and speak to Alisha Soles, the General Manager and i can say she is a gem lady.. Her attitude and gesture of giving us the best experience in the pub is appreciated. Being a tourist, getting a welcoming attention is always what we expect and thats what she made sure about. Cute date place. It is perfect not too loud, and yet they screen matches there.

Their salmon with potato and spinach was so good. I highly recommend it. Great beers on tap as well.

Charging a 35 percent levy on all drinks for our group that we brang in there. Bringing people to your business isnt good enough and resort to charging 35 percent to drinks. A 8 dollar drink turned into 14-15 dollars. Absolutely terrible. Will not be back. Oh and they kicked us out at 11pm when the hours are until 1am. Its a Saturday night for crying out loud.

When the table next to yours asks if your nachos are as terrible as their own you know there is a problem...how do you mess up nachos?! Buffalo chicken nachos consisted of a chicken strip cut into giant chunks on top of a pile of stale roofing shingles, with a glob of half cooked cheese in the center, surrounded by a smattering of beans, onions, and tomatoes, along with some sort of curious mayonnaise based substance with a jalepeno or two tossed in for good measure...if you Go see a Leafs game and need a cheap drink, swing by. If you need food, keep it moving, or your bowels soon will be...

There was a crazy guy who was messing with my friend and I, the bartender Ernest was there and came around to get into between the crazy guy and us girls... I didnt realize it at the time, but that Ernest is a real stand up guy.

I know that it may be a little busy.. but wowowowowow .. pretty much about an hour to be served with food. And its just Fries.. its not that complicated . Dayam!

Waited almost an hour for food. Table next to us that came 20 minutes after us finished their meal before we even got our food. Such poor service .

Explain to me why I had to wait an hour for a mediocre poutine. The place was not overly crowded so I don t get it.

The food here is amazing !! We got the Roma meatball, chicken club sandwich and the steak frites! Drinks included the tropic thunder, strawberry negroni! (Very strong btw)) Staff were very nice and constantly busy, so the teamwork really displayed!

Visiting from out of town, this pub gave a very comforting home feel to it. I sat at the bar and the bartender could not have been more friendly and welcoming :) Ordered the buffalo bites with fries: DELICIOUS. Highly recommend this place

Service was horrible. Terrible attitude when I simply asked for a cider over ice. The server left came back and it was slammed on the table causing it to spill. Left before we were going to order. Garbage.

Our first dinner in Canada was in this pub. We had a great time. Spectacular burgers and great service.

We ate here as a group of 16 before a concert at the Rogers Centre. The food was good and the service was fast. We sat at a table in a small room to the inside right of the door and it was nice to be able to see outside - the windows also had coverings that we could move up and down to keep the sun out of our eyes.

Our visit to The Fox was a disheartening juxtaposition of elegance and incivility. The waiter was RUDE and brazenly disrespectful. Assuming inherent racism here because my entire party of 7 were Asian? The atmosphere held the potential for a decent dining experience, but we chose to not order another round of drinks/food because of this persons uncouth behaviour and rude demeanor. Basic courtesy is what you expect from people ANYWHERE you go. We complained to the manager, but unsure if anything has come of it. Did not understand why the waiter felt the need to be so unpleasant - ironic behaviour from someone working in hospitality. Never coming here again.

Host, server, and bussers are on their A game. Professional, observant, and considerate. Our server Julia gave us some great insider info on our show after dinner. Food is standard pub fare executed well. Batter on the fish and chips was excellent, spinach dip was great, buffalo wings were buttery and had a very light spice.

Nice clean pub close to the lakeside. There is also a bike share station just round the corner. The staff are friendly and helpful but the food wasn t that great. I ordered a medium rare steak frites but came closer to rare and wasn t cut like frites are supposed to be. Vegetarian options: Beyond meet burgers are served here

Came here for a quick bite before a concert. Really great location as it s right by Scotiabank Arena. Ordered the fish sandwhich and a salad. The food was typical corporate food, was good. Drinks were yummy and lots to see sitting on the patio downtown.

Visited here before the Leaf game this past Wednesday. Was seated right away, service was quick and the food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Had the burger and fries which were decent. Would definitely visit here again.

If you like flavourful food skip this place, I had the most boring bland dry hero sandwich of my life here, didnt even bother finishing it. The Ceasar salad was equally disappointing for the extra 4 bucks it didnt even have Ceasar dressing. The location is great and Im guessing this is the only reason this place is open.

Service and atmosphere are 10/5! Wish there was a place like this closer to home.

Was in Toronto for a Hockey game, They were busy and they got myself and my 10 year in as quick as they could.. Great service..Not much for kid to eat but the food was good. I would go back !!
