ABOUT US We love a good time! To us that means good food, good drink and good people. Consider us your friendly neighbourhood watering hole offering great homemade food, cold beer and the friendliest service east of High Park.
The Wicket is a great little spot to meet friends and family and hang. Thank you Nigil and his crew for the fun and music and the yummy blacken chicken
Chicken wings and jerk chicken sandwich were good! Hot sauce options were super good, nice spot close to the park went there for the first time and left satisfied with food and service
Excellent little bar to go to for some casual fun out either after work or catch up with friends on a weekend. Didn't grab the bartenders name but she was courteous, friendly, and entertaining with everyone I saw her interact with. Drinks were well priced, the vibe was comfortable, and I can't wait to bring more of my friends here.
I go regularly on Monday night for Balfolk jam sessions and it has become a tradition to chat with Nigel, get drinks and have some delicious food. You could spend hours at the bar, the dart room or just hang out with Nigel. Very close to the subway and conveniently located. A place where you can take your friends or teams to.
I don't often leave negative reviews but the food was not good. The Greek salad was full of massive chunks of cheese and poorly sliced onion, the soulvaki was dry and hard, and the chicken burger was complelty burnt along with the fries. This place is great if your going for a drink, watch a game, and have some chips, but I would steer clear of the food.
Beautiful rustic pub near High Park. Ideal to drink a beer after work. The beers are local. The service is friendly and gives tips for eating and drinking. Highly recommended!
Decent neighborhood spot, but better options are very close by. All prices are pretty reasonable given the location. Food is pretty standard bar food, nothing has been particularly tasty over the past few times I've been. Service is friendly and fast. Would recommend if you are looking for a simple neighborhood pub.
This is a solid neighbourhood pub! I wouldn't have thought to check it out, but the google reviews convinced me otherwise. Glad I did. The atmosphere was very comfortable. There are two levels, so there is plenty of space. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. My glass was never empty before I was offered another. The food was very good as well. I got the suicide wings and they were how I like them. A slow build up of burn that stays with you long after the food is gone. If you come early (before 6 or 7pm I think) all the beers are a buck off. They also had some other cheap drinks that day as well. So, you won't break the bank having a few here. I'll definitely be back.
Went here to watch soccer game and kept coming back. Great time for a drink.
Came in after work and was told I had to much to drink, looks like a good place to eat and drink, but apparently not. I work usually from 4am to 12 big worked until 6pm and I was denied my first beer. So much disrespect
The food is the best pub food I have ever had! The lemon pepper and cajun wings and the burger are so amazing! This place is a hidden gem! Nigel the bartender is a sweet guy who always gives a generous pour but go for the food too!!!
First time in the Wicket and what a pleasure. A throwback to a time when a local pub was the center of the community and everybody knew your name. Didnt have any food but... its a pub and about so much more than that. Thank you Nigel for a wonderful evening, we will definitely be back.
A great local. Food has always been fantastic. Nigel is always a friendly bartender with generous pours. The upstairs is a great event space, or just fun to hang and play darts.
Food is fantastic, especially the goat curry. Drinks are solid and the staff are the best in the area by far. Love this spot.
Nice little joint near high park. Def. Worth checking out. Love the vibe in here with the vintage toronto photos on the wall. Food was good and company. Support your local business !
I go there on Monday evenings on the upper floor for the weekly Balfolk Toronto event (French folk dancing and music with live musicians). Look for Balfolk Toronto online.
Small hole in the wall, dope staff.
Solid old school pub with a great room for darts up top.
The most rude and racist experience I ever had in a bar. Racist environment and terrible service.
Amazing host and service. Very kind and generous. The food has good quantity and very reasonable priced menu. Must try Irish pub.
The pub itself has a lot of character, it feels cozy and warm. The food is alright, albeit nothing special. Same with the drinks, its your standard pub far. If you live nearby its certainly an old reliable option, but I dont think Id go back if its out of the way.
Well Nigel, The warm hearted soul that he is. Will make for a wonderful experience at The Wicket day, or night. Cheers eh!
This has become our go to Fridays spot. We come here for an hour and change when the girls are in gymnastics and traditionally have a bourbon sour and a beer, with a couple of bacon and cheese burgers. This is a cozy, friendly neighbourhood spot, dont expect fancy, its good drinks, great food, and an amazing staff, specially Nigel, who since day one made us feel like part of the regulars. In another occasion I had the opportunity of trying the meatballs and those were amazing as well. If you like the typical pub scene, and a friendly environment, I would definitely recommend this place.
Hidden gem in the neighborhood. Food is soo good.
The best bartender in the city. Truly a place Where everybody knows your name .
Always a great time there. The bartender is very nice and great service
Nice cozy spot! Shout out to Nigel, our super cool and kind server. Made us feel very welcome. Great place to chill - especially before going out to dance nearby at Lithuanian house Ill definitely be back!
Great experience. Had the burger and fries. Cooked to perfection. Bartender was very friendly and funny. Made for a wonderful evening and will be returning!
Very friendly efficient service. Good local beer. Excellent burgers! Recommend as a simple basic local pub.
Before recently, I had only ever popped into this quirky spot a few times for a pint and never had an issue. Its a very local place with a cast and crew of regulars, loud inside jokes and a slight cold shoulder to non-regs but nothing to complain about. The came my most recent visit as part of a large group booking. We had the upstairs rooms booked for around 50-60 people two weeks in advance. A select menu was printed out, which indicated they thought about what they could reasonably serve a large group. Spoiler alert: It was a disaster. The kitchen, servers and order systems were overwhelmed almost immediately. Stressed out servers took orders that didnt arrive for up to an hour. I overheard one guy (maybe an owner?) ordering white rice from a local Chinese place. Apparently they had run out of rice for their menu item of jerk chicken. Another item of Korean ribs with kimchi was presented as an entree, but came as a limp pile of meat with no kimchi or any sides. Eventually they were convinced to bring out some of the same peas and rice that came with the jerk, and likely originated at the Chinese takeout. Ordering a drink upstairs was impossible. I went downstairs which was dead, and was served by a guy who kept insisting he didnt work there. He took my 9 bucks for a can of Hendersons Best anyway. Standard toronto bar rates, but still painful. And they had nothing on tap. I ordered a paneer curry, and after waiting over half an hour and numerous check-ins and promises, I cancelled the order. The waitress blamed an issue with their ordering software. Ten minutes later, the other server showed up with my food. I refused it, assuming I would be charged, despite cancelling the order. She promptly left and gave my food to another table. I was glad it didnt go to waste, but if it was being offered on the house, I would have eaten it. The smartest of our group saw the wall-writing early and went down the block to Dynamite Sushi for food. They were also very slow at accepting payment. When a large chunk of the group tried to pay, a logjam at the cash forced people to wait at least 30 minutes. Based on other reviews Im sure many regulars rightly love the Wicket. And it has a certain charm, but they were in over their heads with my group, despite ample time to prep and messed up a lot of our nights. If they arent ready to deal with a large but calm and organized group, then they shouldnt take the booking.
Bar would not accept a real Ontario driver s license because of my height not an accepting or welcoming place the prices are also mid
Very hands on . If you are in a smaller group and identify as female heading to this establishment. Beware of the male bar staff. Owners if you are reading this. You know who I am referring to.
Didn t have a lot of menu items available. Waiter was creepy. Kept putting his hand on my legs and shoulder and leaving them there which made me extremely uncomfortable. Maybe it was just being friendly, maybe not. Either way, they should not be putting their hands on customers like that.
recently went there for the first time and had a couple drinks, seemd like a nice relaxed spot
Me and my friend came here on Halloween weekend and had such an amazing time. The bartender was super friendly and the drinks were great. Couldn t have asked for a better time. Definitely going to be coming back.
Maybe pull down the advertisement on your website about being a bar that shows all LFC game and opening up 30 mins before kick off. We showed up here today and some dude told us to come back 5 mins prior to KO because he had to clean the kitchen. And the place was absolutely dead. Had to leave and figure out another spot.
Great food and service..nigel amazing
Warm, cozy place. Friendly service.
Nice place to have a beer after footy training and watch some Premier league football
Such a nice guy running that place. Friendly patrons as well (tks for getting us the beer, Vlad!). Im sorry I didnt take that shot of whisky as well.
Love this place. Anytime Nigel is in you are guaranteed to have a good time!
The staff here are incredible. I had just been in town for a conference and stopped in to meet up with a good friend and the staff were just absolutely amazing. Super charming and friendly and funny. Oh my gosh, I wish I lived closer. I would come here all the time.
Hosted a private event upstairs and Staff was all fantastic to work with. Nigel was great to deal with and all the BartTending staff made our night, Food was great and Look forward to coming back.
What a bad attitude and deliverance from the staff. Highly recommend elsewhere with somewhere less prejudicial and racist!
Fun environment, great drinks and staff. Would love to come again and watch a game
Great food and service. Nigel is a legend!
Food was really good. Great bartender! Quiet but it just re-opened .
Nice vibes, friendly staff. Love the upstairs for events
Terrific place! When you think of the show Cheers, think of this place! The owner Nigel is the best, huge personality and we had tons of fun. Food is real good and way better than most pubs! If youre from out of town, walk in, say so and if Nigel or Ingrid are there they will treat you like family. Located on Bloor with easy access. Love the place!
Great people great service!
Great bartender and patrons, highly recommend
Amazing food and great atmosphere
Great pub for darts
During my last visit, I sat at a table and got completely ignored for more than 10 minutes before I finally gave up and left. I dont think Ill be back.
Good beer, okay food, basic atmosphere
Kind of dirty chef left in the middle of our meal. Long wait but fries were good
Lots of dart boards and beer. Hang ten
Customer service is way too amazing.
This Is Anfield
Great service and food cant ask for a better place to just hangout for a fun hangout with friends with no judgement and really priced out
The chicken mash and corn was great!
I attended a private event here. It was a lot of fun. My husband went downstairs and really enjoyed the food. Id recommend the wicket
Great atmosphere!
Great staff
Look at weekly specials. Should order from here more often!
Great price and atmosphere
Had a fun afternoon here great service, selection, and menu. Has a great neighborhood feel
Quality food, efficient service (albeit slightly icy). GF had the Gumbo which I sampled and found it to be really tasty. She also had the quesadilla which she reported as being fine. I had the Sheppards Pie that I had to send back as it was still cold in the centre. Once it was heated properly I found it to be highly enjoyable. Minus 1 star for heating glitch and not the most welcoming service. Would return though.
Exellento
Nice pub, with friendly staff! We had gone in for NYE, and it was a great night out. Close to transit options as well.
Great food and service. The staff is super friendly and chill environment. We had our work Christmas party there and they were able to accommodate us all with no problems. Very happy and had a good time there.
Hands down best pub at Bloor and Keele. Owner Nigel is a LEGEND.
Our server was great, it was a large group and she handle it very well!
Good local pub with good access to the subway. Has a strong English feel to it and a few good local brews on tap.
Great people great atmosphere and even better booze
A pub, simple place for drinks or simple dinner.
People are very sympathique, its not expansive, I met Burt Reynolds here...several time the same night...ask barmaid to meet him !!
A great place to watch footy and wonderful food.
Great local pub, the publican/bar owner is a class act. Dart boards upstairs.
Good food, adorable waiter
What a great place, the irish waitress went above and beyond to help us. Will def be coming back
It was a decent spot to stop. Ate the wicket club alhough it hit the spot, the food is nothing special. Great place for a couple drinks.
I ordered a steak sandwich and onion rings and just loved them. I was having a craving for Steak and this place delivers! The onion rings were awesome, light and fluffy but crispy yum! I definitely recommend this place! Also, friendly fast service
Best onion rings in the city with a games room upstairs. All one needs.
Great owners:)
Cool place...
Super friendly local spot. The owner is very down to earth and welcoming to new customers. Not a large selection of taps, but what they have is great.

Every neighbourhood deserves a local like The Wicket. Nigel s the best & the food is great.
Decent food. But the wings are very small. $14/lb is a lot to pay.
Drinks are fairly priced Staff is friendly and fast Bar is nice and dark TVs available on both floors Lots of space and games upstairs aka darts, table hockey etc
