A lively, loud, traditional Irish pub located in the heart of the beaches. Serving up pub grub, live music and most importantly.... a great pint of porter! Come for a pint, stay for the craic! 🍀
We hosted a friend’s surprise birthday party at the Wolfe Tone in October. Manager Becca took all details and everything was setup and ready for our group. The serving team of Tristan and Rory delivered excellent service to all 15 guests. Tristan brought the cake we had supplied candles lit and ready for wishing. The singer sang Happy Birthday and then played a medley of tunes suitable for dancing. It was a wonderful evening!! Big thanks to super staff Becca, Tristan and Rory for ensuring the night was a success.
A true Irish pub in the heart of the Beaches, Toronto! The Wolfe Tone should be listed as one of, if not the, best Irish pubs in all of Toronto. From the moment you walk in, the warm and cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The food is fantastic—authentic and flavorful—and the pint of Guinness is always perfectly poured. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal or just to relax with a drink, this place will not disappoint. The friendly staff and lively ambiance truly capture the essence of a classic Irish pub. Highly recommend!
Very friendly staff and nice drink selection. It’s a bit congested inside but the patio is really nice. The food was nice - butter chicken not so much but the spice bag was tasty and the chips and guac were nice and warm. Great chips. Beers were poured nicely as well.
A lively, friendly, and boisterous spot in The Beaches at the Whitlock's location! Our server was very friendly and attentive, and was very considerate with our food allergies. The beef stew was surprisingly satisfying as there was a substantial amount of meat, and not many "fillers"... The chicken fingers were moist and not heavily breaded. All-in-all, we were very pleased, and look forward to coming here on a regular basis.
Sat out on patio, had to wait 15 minutes as the place was really busy and we did not want to eat inside as the live music was a little loud for us. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, ordered the Irish nachos, calamari, and fish tacos. Found items on the menu pretty affordable too. We'll be back 🙂
Stopped by to check it out again. Last time it was full of parents with unruly kids so didn't get the chance to enjoy myself. This time I sat in the patio and had a great late lunch. The $3 Tacos were good, the Whiskey Sour was good, the service was superior! The staff was amazing and made my experience relaxing and fantastic. The service is equal to or better than some top restaurants in Toronto. Very attentive. I highly recommended the Wolfe Tone Irish Pub. ---
Jada great breakfast on Sunday. The server was amazing. She was really on top of her game. The food was amazing and amazing value for money. What really impressed me is how well they treated my dog. They brought her some doggy treats and water so I could sit on the patio and enjoy my breakfast with my puppy. We will be back and looking forward to come and watch some rugby 🏉
From the moment we walked in and sat down we knew it was going to be a great spot. Atmosphere is so lively, our server Tony was top tier! I was hesitant on the tacos because I don't like cilantro, Tony talked me into it and they were so good - highly recommend! The pricing is incredible, $7 guac and chips! Also seems like they have a special every night... We went on a Thursday which was $3 tacos!!! We'll definitely be back a lot! 🫶🫶
Great atmosphere and friendly service. The place was jammed which may explain why food came out very slow. My food was sub par, but my mate liked his fish tacos. Good beer selection. I ll go again and hope it was just an off night for the kitchen.
One of the best Guinness pours in the east end. Great friendly service. Holding off on a five for food until I have some.
Food was good, pints were great, atmosphere was Fekn awesome. Friday evening this is place is the Crack Will be returning regularly Food
Good food, reasonable prices. Nice traditional decor. Service was OK but not great
Nice Irishy atmosphere. Good food and table service. The rugby/afl waiter had a great lilt to his spoken Irish and even found me outside to return my bag I forgot. Highly recommend this pub.
Servers are lovely and has a great atmosphere but the food is very inconsistent. If you are going to have a pub like this you need to have good food - would suggest going with less items and better quality. You can tell they cut corners with frozen food options in the kitchen.
Decent pub food, good beers on tap a live music several days of the week.
Most amazing Curry Fries!!
A great way to spend a grey November Sunday afternoon listening to some great music over a drink. This will be my winter escape.
We have been coming to the Wolfe Tone since the begining which the food and everything was 5 star. Since this summer food has been going downhill fast. Came in Aug with 3 people who had not been before. Serbice was slow but once the food came it was cold and my order was fogotten. Again brought 4 people this time again food was tasteless. I will not be telling people about how good your food is or will be ordering food when i am there. I am vevy pleased with the servlce people. Always. Smiling, cipper and make you feel welcome 5 star. Need to work on the kitchen, is ir a new chef. Did you take the chef from here to the new location?
This pub has got to be one of the only Irish bars in Toronto that instantly takes me right back home From the amazing staff, the food and the pints of Guinness, they ve got it right! The curry cheese chips are a must try, and the stew is on another level Weekends live music is an added bonus as the atmosphere just keeps getting better! Guaranteed I will be back
Best Irish pub in the beaches! Lovely pints of Guinness and very friendly staff must visit!
We sat down on the patio (which smelled of urine), and it was pretty dead and nowhere near closing. We ordered some pints, and before we were done our pints, the server asked us if we wanted another. We said we werent ready yet, and they promptly brought us our bill, which we did not request. They were very pushy, trying to have us pay before we even finished our drinks. No smiles, no welcoming banter, very disappointed as I was entertaining a guest, and the location is usually a great experience.
Well didnt turn out as I expected it had to wait over 10 mins long for nachos then come to find after the wait your suppose to say ground beef on nachos to get the full Irish nachos experience didnt know never even shown on menu and im 1st time customer overall the customer service was good
Good food and drink.
The automatic paper towel dispenser in the men s room actually gives you enough paper towel to properly dry your hands in one or two runs. Uncommonly generous in this economy.
Great spot if you want a good drink and amazing service especially from Grainne who was very friendly and poured a great pint!! Will definitely be coming back!
Very disappointing. ... they try very hard to please tho. Just another overpriced pub in the beach. The guinness of course was great I live in neighborhood but wont be back. NO thanks
Amazing place, great food great service. Just as it says a traditional Irish pub.
Amazing Gem in The Beach. Food was authentic and delicious, great atmosphere..warm and welcoming. Staff are well invested in making sure you have a great experience. If in the hood, this is a must try.
I was on my way home from another pub last night and heard amazing music coming from this pub. I had never been in before and decided to check it out. The band, the staff, the atmosphere was SO MUCH FUN! I ended up staying for awhile and had a blast! I ll be back!
Server was polite; but I only saw him 50 minutes after ordering while waiting for my burger and salad. I cannot yet comment on the burger. Still waiting at 59 minutes. My Guinness is keeping me company as are the moscas
Wonderful Irish pub in the heart of the Beaches. Welcoming and friendly staff, great food, and great drinks. Give these guys a shot.
Great food and friendly service. Very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!
Nice patio but super noisy.
Great irish pub
Went here for the game. Was a bit disappointed. $18 dollars breakfast wasn t great value for money. Everything crammed on to a small plate and 1 small slice of Soda bread. No tea came. The waitress were busy just yappin with each other behind the bar. Finally after asking where is the tea it came and the pot was only half filled with water. Bit disappointed in value and service. But the pints of Smithwicks were excellent. I ll be back to give it another chance. Hopefully there s improvement.
the best!!!!
Top shelf Guinness. Fun vibe and solid trivia
Mediocre service and poor food. The atmosphere was nice and felt like home in that sense but yet another underwhelming Irish pub without any Irish charm. Won t be back
Horrible visit, staff passing off tables I can t do that, but I ll tell your server server came to table once - we ordered drinks and food, drinks came 15 mins later, an hour in food still not out, drinks empty, mentioned to two staffers we d like to see server or maybe just get us another round .crickets. I d never leave a review like this on a new establishment , but you aren t new anymore. Hopefully others have better experiences in the future , I wouldn t step a foot inside again tho
Becca and Tristan were simply awesome! I m here with my lovely date and they made me feel like a champ. It was outstanding service with a lovely atmosphere on the patio.
Won t find a better Guinness. Grainne is a Pro.
Good atmosphere overall . Cranky staff.
Nice place for food
I had the Half Irish Breakfast. The portion size was adequate. The White Pudding was really good. But the rest of the dish was off. The fried tomato was raw, the sausage tasted unpleasant, and the beans, mushrooms, and home fries were dripping in oil. Our server was nice and listened to my constructive feedback for the kitchen staff. I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be dining here again. The establishment has potential, but they need to do better in the kitchen first. Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy allergy and they were accommodating to my dietary needs. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the outdoor patio. But the Washrooms are downstairs.
Went in for lunch today and the food and service was fantastic!!! This is just what the beaches need, a proper authentic Irish pub, from the atmosphere, to the staff and the food. I had the full Irish breakfast and my partner had the half Irish. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. Portions will most definitely fill you up!! Best Irish breakfast outside of Ireland!!!
Went here for the first time tonight and it was a great time. Great atmosphere love that they got live music and food was great from the app to dessert I got the chicken leek pie which I highly recommend. Also everyone working there was extremely friendly which helped top off a great evening out.
We took a big family party to the Wolfe Tone Irish Pub and everyone loved the food, the service, and the comfortable atmosphere. It was also very reasonable for 9 adults and 4 kids. Heir patio was very welcoming.
Good drink, good people, good time
We were family regulars since its opening date, visiting for food and not drinks. Unfortunately our last experience left us unfulfilled as either it was a bad day for the kitchen, or the food has simply gone downhill. We don t like sending food back, we don t like confrontations lol, but we ve now learned our lesson that we should have taken that course of action. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are incredibly nice, warm, and charming. Everything is a Win for this establishment, save for the food we ate there.
The service was so amazing and the staff were so welcoming, our server Tyler was so wonderful and quick to get back to us, the food was incredible for such a good price, will definitely be returning !!!!
Had the most wonderful night here. Amazing food, amazing prices, and amazing customer. I was served by Tyler and had the most amazing experience, so kind and such fast and attentive service. Will be back tomorrow night!!!! Highly recommended, probably the best restaurant in the beaches that had opened in the last few years!!!
We were on holiday from Ireland. Had a great night in The Wolfe Tone. It was very busy and the staff were brilliant. Great service. The food was lovely.
Great pub, great gals serving
Slow service and loud live music during the day.
Walking past and heard the live music. Popped in for a beer - and good couple of hours later fed and watered. Good to have alcohol free Guinness for my partner, the driver. Only had couple of appetisers as had lunch, but will definitely be back to try some main courses. Great friendly atmosphere and serv8ce
Its an Irish pub. Whats to describe? Great patio, though, and a dining room around back.
A very lively pub in the Toronto Beaches neighborhood. I found the service a little slow, and the food was ok. Its the little things that really make a difference that could be improved on. Water was not brought to our table and my cocktail was warm. I asked for my burger with all the toppings on the side, and they added burger sauce to the burger. It was really messy to eat. Dispite the little hiccups, Its a really fun place to go out with friends. There was a live band playing when I went.
I had the best tacos in town at Wolf Tone Irish Pub tonight hanging out with Toni and Becca. Wonderful staff that made me feel at home. My name is Patrick, and I was made to feel at home at this Irish pub! I can t say enough about this bar. Staff and ownership are generous and wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Irish Pub experience in Toronto. Simply, the best place! Lightning in a bottle. Best, PJ
Just came to Toronto today, the first place I came to was the Wolfe Tones Irish Pub, as I had been hearing a lot of good reports about it. I will definitely be back the food, drinks and service were top quality and we had a lovely evening! Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Limited beer list. Was not happy with our server - quite rude.
The food was horrible. The steak tacos that were on special were tough and chewy. The Sheppards pie was more like a soup. How they managed that is a mystery. The waitress had one leg on the empty chair as we were ordering. Not very professional.
I sound like a grumpy but some regulars talk way too loud eventhough they are sitting right across from each other. Makes it unenjoyable for others.
I was really excited to try this new Irish Pub in our neighbourhood and really wanted to like it. The pros:- they had Elderflower tonic for my G and T and malt vinegar for my chips. We sat on the patio as it was a lovely evening and there were a lot of people shouting at each other inside. I ordered the Chicken and Leek pie. The crust was tough and dry and Im pretty sure this was because it must have been thawed and cooked in the microwave. Cooking in the microwave caused the thawed meat and veg to really water down the gravy, if you can call it that. The filling was tasteless. The chips were barely warm. My companion ordered the potato and leek soup, which was served after his main course of fish and chips. Im from Ireland and have had a meal in many pubs in Ireland and this one doesnt come close in either atmosphere and especially food. Sadly this one is Irish in name only.
Had a brilliant time here for my first visit, such a good vibe and the staff as amazing! We were so well looked after by Molly who couldn t do enough for us! Will be back
Great food portions! Plenty of beers to try.
Top Irish Pub in GTA
A real pub feel. Great atmosphere, with pub-goers bringing their own flutes, fiddles and drums. Traditional Irish music can often be heard, played live! They pour a good pint too!
Best Guinness in the beaches! Great food and a true Irish pub. Couldn t ask for more! Big patio too!
A group of us tried to go for a drink or two at 11:30pm on a Wednesday. On Google the hours clearly state they are open until 1am. However, as soon as we entered we were turned away. We were told that they where closing even though they still had half a bar full of people drinking and an hour and a half until close according to their Google hours. This is the second time this has happened. Very disappointing! Don t trust the hours!
This post is mostly about the Irish Nachos they re damn good! Don t forget to add ground beef. The Wolfe Tone also serves a nice Guinnness!
Wolfe tones was unbelievable, best night I ve had in Toronto. The atmosphere was class and the bar staff were so friendly and helpful, top service and top place. Will definitely be back, would recommend to anyone at any age !
The Wolfe tones was a great night yet again, staff are brilliant. Pints, music, atmosphere all top class. Definitely a must when visiting Toronto.
The best Irish bar in Toronto by far, make this a must go. The staff displayed top class service and were very friendly. I have had my best nights here.
Hands down best Cobb salad I have ever had and amazing value. Thanks for the superb service Rachel, Molly on the bar and the exceptional staff for their consistent friendly and efficient service. Can t say enough about this pub. xo
I ve had a lot of items on the menu and have not been disappointed. The staff are incredible and you can t beat the price of a glass of good Chardonnay!!!
I love the wolf tone. The staff are so friendly, and they all look out for each others tables. It can get rowdy in the evenings, but you can always enjoy the patio if you want it quieter. They also have trivia and live music.
Great addition to the beaches!
My first time there, live music, great menu, the Celtic burger was soon good. But most of all Tristan, our server, so friendly, knowledgeable and above and beyond.
When wolftone opened we were all so excited to have a wonderful little Irish pub in our neighborhood. We spent every weekend here weather it was for lunch inns or some evening brews. We are very embarrassed for this place as it once was so great to all of us here in the beaches. Saturday night was very unfortunate, we witnessed the pub manager call a well known member of our balmy beach club and business entrepreneur here in the beaches the N word and telling him to leave. Screeming at the top of his lungs at her. When we asked why this had to be a public display we were told that his best friend was an ex girlfriend of this gentleman I will not name for his security and that he does not want this n word in their bar. We find this completely revolting and a disgrace to our community. Very upset and hurt over this encounter. All of us will never step back through those doors again.
Everything about this place is great!! Food and vibe 10/10. Plus this blonde guy named jimbo or somthing was a very good barback
Came in for Guinness and wings and they did not disappoint! Was served by Rachel and Ben who were absolutely terrific!
Came in Thursday, there was a large group of us but we never had to wait for drinks. We shared some apps that were pretty good. The service was the main highlight here. We had Gráinne and she was amazing! Very attentive, quick and personable. Will be returning!
Managers were amazing!
The shepherds pie is THE BEST IVE EVER HAD! Tyler the bartender was outstanding! Service was too notch! Well be back!
Tyler made us feel right at home, was attentive and had all the jokes! 10/10 would recommend this spot!
food was incredible and the atmosphere was great! The only downside was the size of drinks they give you are really small.
Comfortable. Fair prices. Friendly staff.
Tristan is an absolute legend and if you are lucky enough to have him as your server you are in for a treat. Great bar. Great vibe!
Everything went smoothly, food and drinks were great! We had the tacos, they were well priced and portioned. On top of that, Tristan and Rebecca were a great company. Will be back again for taco Thursday!
Stopped in at the Wolf Tone on Friday evening for a couple of Guinness after work. I sat at the bar and was served by Tyler who was very professional. She provided such great service, I will definitely be back. Thanks, keep up the good work!
Finally tried this place after hearing all the hype. Typical Beach pub. Disappointing food. Limp oily fries. Greasy fish. Burger with way too many ingredients. Keep it simple. Music good but hard to hear due to screaming patrons. Including staff. (Tristan). Nothing special about the place. If not for our server who was terrific the evening was a big fail.
Great Bar ! Bartenders rock ! Tyler and Tony are the best
Was in here last week and had a great time. Can t remember the servers name but he told me he was from cork, absolute gent of a man and had great craic for the night. Can t recommend this place enough and the server made me and my family feel very welcome as if we were at home
This pub is fantastic! Jimbo was awesome. And the food tastes great.
I don t even know how this place has 4.4 stars on Google unless somebody is trying to play a psychological trick on you to eat some of the most mediocre food you ve ever had in your entire life. I ve had better fish and chips at IKEA. If you want to go out for a night with friends you re better off elsewhere.
I had honey garlic wings, they were great! The kind bar tender Jimbo was super kind
Stopped in on the weekend, happy to see a familiar face behind the bar (Tyler!) always a pleasure to see her. Great service always! Looking forward to her bringing back Tyler Tuesday cocktails!
One of the best Irish Pub in TORONTO ! Really liked the service and loved the beer they recommended to us, since we were new in the Town. Would love to visit this place again for sure! And shoutout to Molly for being the sweetest! Vegetarian options: Yes they have vegetarian snacks too like fries.
This is the kind of place I love to go to. Great atmosphere, great food and wonderful service.
First time visiting Wolf Tone... great addition to the Beach! Food was spot on. Will be going back for sure.
Sorry very disappointed food. Ham, cabbage & mash. ( one slice of fatty ham :( Hubby got Guinness pot pie there was no meat at all. Seriously what food are you serving ? ? Fries were burnt. Not a happy customer at all. Desserts were Amazing! Bailey s cheese cake Fab and bread pudding delicious.
First visit here wasting time before a concert at History up the road. Place was really busy, but still had a high top table available. Service was fantastic and on point. The food was awesome and their in house Wolfe Lager was fantastic. See you again sometime, cheers! Food
Probably the WORST service experience I have ever had. We felt rushed out the door within 20 min of sitting down. My girlfriend and me had order full appetizers, main meal and several drinks. We were polite and curious to the staff, taking up only 2 seats in the restaurant. There was NO line up and it was a snowy night. It was NOT crowded. Yet, within minutes of giving us our orders, they asked us to order more. When we didnt then they kept harassing us every 5 min (literally), including the manager and wait staff. Pressuring us to order more or get out. The waitress was increasingly giving me attitude and rolling her eyes at me, when I wasnt eating fast enough. We were only there for 1 hr 20 min, hardly a lot of time. But they actually took my food and drink right from under my hands, when I wasnt finished with either. After I told them that we felt rushed, they continued to harass us several more times. We finally left feeling upset and it ruined our night out! I hadnt seen my friend in years and this really spoiled the night. I would NOT recommend coming here! Too much hype for one place and not enough good service.
Great Irish pub! The wings were amazing and the Guinness was on point. Would definitely go again.
Best bar in the beach. Danielle pour the coldest beer. Gabby provided the most immediate warm greeting. While Tristan and Becca have us impeccable service! Cant recommend this amazing establishment enough!
Servers super friendly and I love coming here and would definitely come back!! Danielle, beca and Trevor were on the floor and they were amazing !!! Parking: Park in the right spot and you are golden!
Great pub, food was really good
Absolutely don t pay with cash. The staff will help themselves to a 34% tip and never be seen again. The first and second times I thought it was funny. This trend is not funny. Food is great. Service isn t.
I have been here twice. The first time we had a good experience aside from the fact we had to change tables because of a terrible draft in the backroom. The second time I had been promised a specific table which we didnt get. We were seated at another terribly drafted table but moved soon after. My burger was burned, my apple crisp ice cold and the waiter had to be reminded to bring me a beer. As for atmosphere - the front room is too loud for conversation and the backroom has two TV screens showing sporting events. The Irish waiters not withstanding, that makes this a Canadian bar, not an Irish pub.
Always have great staff!!
Would have given 5 stars but unfortunately the tap cider was watered down. I asked for another cider from a can and was charged for both. Was told it was policy to charge for both even though I didn t drink the weak one. Unfortunately dampered an otherwise positive first experience.
Love this new authentic Irish pub. It is a gem that is long overdue on Queen St East in the Beach. Fabulous food, bevvies, staff and live music.
Far too loud, forget conversation unless you call shouting at each other across a small table enjoyable.
Nice beer selection and vibe. Barstaff are extremely friendly and efficient.
I recently hosted a joint birthday party in the back room at The Wolfe Tone, and it was an absolute delight! Molly, the event planner, made the entire planning process super easy and seamless. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. During the party, our server Rachel was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our group of ~40 people were all taken care of. The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration, and the food and drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend The Wolfe Tone for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or gather with a group of friends. Thank you, Molly, Rachel, and the entire team, for making our celebration so memorable. We all had a great time and will definitely be back!
I really enjoyed this spot. Food and ambiance are great and the servers maje sure youre taken care if. I will be back!
Went on Sunday with my wife to this place. What an experience. Service, food and prices were good. Love the Irish ambience. Definitely will go agsin
Great service from Devin! Busy place and nice atmosphere.
Great service from Molly! Was so happy to see they had 0% beer :-)
As soon as i walked in i was greated with a smile and a warm welcome by Toni the bartender service was excellent food (wings) was amazing especially their fires definitely will be back again thanks! (Mico) Parking: right across the street
Great time on a Monday evening in the Beach. I stopped in for a bite and a pint at the bar, before meeting with some friends in the back room. The service was really quick (thanks Tristan), the food was plentiful and the staff was very helpful. We all had a great night and will be back again soon. Already such a great atmosphere for a new venue!
Love this place. Great food. Pub fare. Open late. Great friendly service. The most amazing servers and even more amazing General Manger REBECCA overseeing the place. Love love her! Buzzing & happening place! Happy times! Wings and fries are exceptional.
Great authentic Irish pub. Fantastic food and service. worth the wait to get in.
Great brunch at The Wolf Tone today! My husband, son (2.5) enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Very reminiscent of my time spent in Cork. Haven t had a goujons that good since Sober Lane! My son had the kids sausage and tots - he loved it! The vibe was relaxed and homey. The servers were friendly and accommodating. The entire menu looked great and we are so excited to go back and try some more dishes. Particularly interested in the trivia night. Honestly, this is exactly the spot that The Beaches needed. The crowd was so varied and everyone seemed to share the same sentiment - happy to be there with their friends or fam while enjoying some traditional fare.
A really nice authentic Irish pub. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. A very well run ship.
Burgers were great, tasted fresh and not frozen. Our server forgot about us many times over but there was other staff around to get what we needed.
Just another bar with average pub grub. The difference being that this one is Irishy. Ive noticed that Irish people like to gather together so it could appeal to them more than me. Food
Our 3rd time here. I went with a burger this time. 2 large slabs of bacon, onion ring a just right cooked patty, not dry. They have excellent fries. It is super noisy when it gets busy.
Went for drink and little supper. Very lovely nice place.
Being of Irish descent, I was happy to see a place with authentic flair open in my neighbourhood. We have enjoyed our experiences here so far, and I was ecstatic to find out there would be a St-Paddy s party today with live Irish music starting EARLY in the day. This is unusual because 1) a lot of Irish pubs in Toronto are just British pubs in disguise 2) Rarely do you come across places offering live Irish music (coming from Montreal, this is the norm) 3) Live Irish music all day (most places that do offer live music start it in the evening, and everyone works the next day). Anyhow, they opened at 9am today, started the live music at 11am. We got there at 10:45, and after waiting an hour and a half behind 10 other people, watching at least 6 additional people cut the line because they were joining groups already inside, we left angry and disappointed. Apparently the management decided that not making these late arrivals wait in line with the rest of us was a fair practice, and a lady in line said that she called ahead and was told that they would not let you join a group, contradicting their own policy. Regardless, I think I will give this place a hard pass in future. It was disheartening to not be treated fairly.
I stopped not only once, but twice this week in the Wolf tone Irish pub. Food is excellent well priced. Staff are super friendly. According to Red all staff hail from Ireland. :)
Great Irish pub in the heart of the beaches. Came here a couple of times last week. Great atmosphere, authentic food with large portions and reasonable prices. Parking: Free parking north and south of queen if you drive a bit. Otherwise paid green p parking on queen. Kid-friendliness: Good selection of kid friendly food.
Traditional pub. Great food, service, and atmosphere .
I have been in only a couple of times for a pint - they pour an excellent Guinness here. The second time that I was here, they had a wing special, so I decided to have a snack - the price seemed to say that Id be getting a pound of wing, nothing more. When the plate arrived it was a full pound of very large, meaty wings, a side of celery and carrot and a plate fries...and it was all delicious. I look forward to returning for other items on the menu...and of course a pint of Guinness.
much success. great to see a business flourish so quickly in the beaches.
Was very excited to have a real Irish pub in the neighbourhood. Stopped in for pints a couple of times and the place was packed with a great crowd. The service was friendly and they pour a solid pint of Guinness. The atmosphere was fun and really on point. Went back one evening to try the food and was severely disappointed. We had the cauliflower bites, Irish nachos and the fish and chips. The sauce on the cauliflower was good, but the bites were rubbery. The nachos came out in a congealed pile that stuck to the paper, the fries were soggy and the batter on the small portion of fish was tough and dry. Seated near the kitchen, we could see and hear the microwave in heavy rotation. It was pretty obvious that none of our food was made fresh. We really wanted to like this place, but theres nothing authentic about pre-made food reheated in a microwave. Just a huge letdown and not at all what we expected.
We went today for the Irish Brunch and were pleasantly surprised! The service was excellent, atmosphere cozy and clean and the food was incredible. We will be back to continue to try the menu. Thank you! Awesome addition to the neighborhood. Great vibes, friendly and down to earth staff. We really enjoyed ourselves. I had to come back to edit- I had their wings on wing night and they were awesome! Huge, perfectly cooked and came with a heap of fries and veggie sticks for $12.99! Loved them!
Met a friend for drinks after work and decided to eat before they arrived. Had Grilled Cheese and Potato Soup, and it was some of the best Potato Soup I have had. I even ordered some to go it was so delicious. Love the friendly staff, who are attentive and make you feel like a regular.
awful food too loud and that manger is very rude Food
Nice new bar, food is good and service is fair. The place is a little loud and the prices are reasonable
Stopped in for a good Irish pint. Left 2 hours later after a few pints and amazing Irish breakfast. Wow!! Delish food and great value! I ordered the half breakfast and it was huge! Molly was attentive and friendly. Great live music too! Will be back soon
We went last Sunday. Just after opening the door I wanted to leave. There was a guy singing and the sound was unbearable loud. Luckily we had a table at the very end of the pub. Our waiter, Tristan, a lovely nice young man. I ordered a Seafood chowder and my husband, who is Irish, ordered a bacon & cabbage. Two typical Irish dishes. Non of them were good. My chowder was tasteless, full of potatoes, 3 prawns and two peaces of fish. The sea taste was tar far away. I suggest they go to Ballinahinch Castle in Connemara and have a chowder there. As per my husband Bacon and Cabbage, not different from my soup. It should be renamed as Coleslaw and Ham. The pint of Guinness was good but not as good as the ones Johnny pours at the Green Dragon in Kingston road.
I have Been there a couple of times Staff are fantastic food is very good great atmosphere reminds me of a wee pub at home Food
Good selection of beers and food. Very good pub set up and atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and efficient
Fantastic food, could not have had nicer staff and the atmospheric is so comfortable.
Best social gatherings in the beech!
The hype is not exaggerated. My husband and I strolled down mid afternoon thinking we d easily find a quiet table. Fat chance! The word is out that this pub has finally breathed new life into its (too-long empty) location! We enjoyed a delicious lunch (amazing seafood chowder, plentiful chicken tenders, and light, tender fish and chips) along with attentive service despite an overwhelming crowd! Btw - the prices are sooo reasonable for the quality of food, especially with the inflation issues recently. I hope the Wolfe Tone becomes a long standing neighbourhood institution. Follow Up: Second visit was just as enjoyable! Valentine s Day luncheon of calamari (awesome charred peppers), rich beef stew, and a tasty chicken leek pie with a nice flaky crust. Our server, Tristan, was delightful: Professional, efficient, friendly, and an all-around lovely person.
What a disappointment. Went last weekend for brunch and the food was mediocre and the service was terrible. After being seated it took 10 minutes for our waitress to ask if we wanted coffees, but couldn t take our food order because she didn t have her machine . After bringing coffee to a few tables that arrived after us she brought our coffee, and it was just that, a cup of coffee but no sugar, cream or even a spoon. After another long wait we caught her attention and she brought cream and sugar, but no spoons! We had to go to the bar to get a spoon. Finally she took our order (no machine). My husband order the full Irish breakfast and when it arrived it was only a half order, and was lukewarm, so she took $5 off the tab. Nothing special about the interior or ambiance, the chairs are bar stools, so no place to put your coat or hang your purse. We will not go back and definitely not recommend.
Being Irish myself and living in Toronto for the last 13 years, I was excited to find a bar that feels and looks like a genuine Irish bar, live music every weekend and proper Irish curry chips. Cant wait to go again
Wolfe Tone is amazing!! The food was delicious and service top notch. All the servers are young energetic people who were singing and bopping to the live music tonight. You can feel the energy in there. It was extrememly busy but all the servers didnt let anyone go without. Great experience!!! Deanna Kenny
Wow. Finally a proper pub opened in the Beaches!
We were two for lunch on Family Day and - yes - it was packed. So what do you do when the kitchen is swamped? 1. Reassure your waiting customers. 2. Offer them something. 3. Close the doors and restrict new arrivals. None of the above happened and we waited 45 min for a soup and sandwich. The soup was the consistency of mashed potatoes. Is this an Irish thing? Anyway, we will try again on a non-holiday.
The snug is a lovely spot and the ham and cabbage entre was super yummy
Didn t want our service, told us that if we didn t want to wait we could leave.. all the while there were reserved tables . I ve never been in an Irish bar on a Saturday with reserved tables it s a fake wanna be Irish establishment
Had an absolutely delicious beef & Guinness stew accompanied by a perfectly poured Guinness with exceptional service by Tristan- fantastic in every regard
Great place for our pre-Christmas get together...
Wonderful place! Great service from Grainne! She is brilliant
Great comfort food and friendly service!
Checked them out Dec 28th. I m very happy to see this place in the neighborhood! Service was attentive and a few ex pats even serving! Visited with an Irish friend and he said the curry chips were the real deal. The Guinness was perfect. Kilkenny and Smitwicks on draft. Prices were very reasonable ($7-9 pints) and the atmosphere itself was authentic and cozy. Can t wait to hit it up again, and especially in the summer with a patio.
Fantastic establishment, Grainne was the greatest !!
One of the best places iv been in a long time great food great people greater time.
Disgusting experience. Will never be back.
Good lively pub. Just wish they d turn off the massive TV screens - no one seemed to be watching them.
Excellent addition to the Beaches neighbourhood , fantastic atmosphere great stuff very reasonable prices. Food is delicious highly recommend.
Great pints & service !!! Good food too !!
Last night was my first time here. We were a group of four. We all enjoyed our meals and Ive never before been happy about a side salad from any restaurant, but the one I received last night was exceptional. I wish they had a better selection of IPAs on tap, but all in all it was a great experience.
We absolutely love this new Irish pub! The pub has a lovely cosy proper Irish pub feel from the minute you walk in the door with the many photos & signs on the wall relating to Ireland. Had a great pint of Guinness and even Murphys! The steak and Guinness pie was a real treat and you certainly won t go hungry with the portions, I also got a side of McDonnell s curry sauce with my chips. We even tried the Baileys cheese cake and it was amazing! Service was outstanding considering how busy they were, we were well taken care of by Tristan! Looking forward to returning again and trying other things on the menu, and also stay on for the music and the craic
Checked out this new (1-1/2 month old) Queen Street E, Irish pub! Had a spectacular brunch, was the Full Irish Breakfast! Next time will order the half! Was delicious and the service was excellent! We will be seeing you again! Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with kids enjoying their brunch as well!
First the good. The decor is quite lovely and the service quite good, especially considering how busy this place can get. The food is average. The not so great. The bar is positioning itself as a music venue, however the sound is abysmal. Because of all the concrete, sound just bounces around and the din is overwhelming. Unfortunately, the answer (whether by the musicians or management, I dont know) respond by turning up the volume on speakers that are too big for the size of the venue. The result is a deafening, unpleasant experience. Talking to tablemates in the front room is pretty much impossible. Overall, I would recommend checking Wolftone out, but not on a music night.
Fantastic new bar, serving great pints of Guinness and true Irish food.
I have been twice to this new pub in the beach in the last 2 weeks. The atmosphere is great and the food was decent. I m glad to see this addition to the Beach neighbourhood. Service is very slow though. We were there today for brunch, at 11:45 - our drinks came quickly but our food came out at 1:00. Granted the place was packed and the business is still getting off the ground but it seems to be a small kitchen for the number of patrons dining. I will definitely go back but if it takes this long the next time, I will probably go elsewhere.
Waited too long for beer and food.steak pie dissapointing fries really bad. Second time there.
This addition to the Beaches bar scene is very welcome. We went for brunch to try the Irish breakfast and were not disappointed. The full Irish is huge and unless you have an equally huge appetite, I recommend the half Irish. Even after only two months, the place has a well worn, comfortable feeling as if it s been around forever. I look forward to returning sometime soon for more good food, drink and some live music. Also, the staff are charming and delightful.
Chicken sandwich breast on a bun was burned and bland. Curry fries came out cold. Wings were just ok.
Went for Irish Brunch on the weekend, lively vibe and cozy environment for all ages. The food is generous and delicious, I recommend the Half Irish Breakfast with soda bread and a Ceasar. Excellent service! Definitely will return to try out other menu items.
Busy place with good food and service. We will be back again
Great bar to hang with friends
Great prices, great fun
