Konjiki Hototogisu was first opened in Tokyo Japan in 2006, by Chef & Owner Mr. Atsushi Yamamoto.Yamamoto-san’s resolute in his ramen and meticulous preparation methods has surpassed the ramen standards in Japan has earned him numerous world-class merits & awards including Michelin bib gourmand from 2015-2018. A firm believer that despite ramen’s causal and quick serving nature, each bowl of Konjiki ramen must meet his uncompromising standards in its ingredients and diligent preparation, demanding each guest’s full attention and appreciation as you enjoy a bowl of Japan’s finest food tradition. We welcome you to come and experience Konjiki's signature clam broth ramen plus other original recipe specially design for Toronto only.
My friend and I visited and we were seated immediately and the staff was super nice. We only eat halal so we had to find items suitable.. And the staff went above and beyond to provide us with delicious veggie ramen and tempura salmon! Our drinks were amazing too and the bear cups are super innovative! It is a bit pricy but def worth it for a lovely night out✨💯
Been here a few times. Konjiki is supposed to be special for its clam broth ramen. It is gentle and reminiscent of the sea. They hit it on the nail. I typically go classic but had the yuzu ebi special which was nice with some good complex flavours. My uncle had the wagyu beef ramen which he slurped up happily - I’ll take it that it was good. They do ramen well… and the prices are not too bad especially for downtown Toronto ramen. Solid spot and will be back.
Konjiki always has top tier ramen in the city and you can't go wrong with any of the choices. The limited Yuzu ramen was a different experience from other ramen and would recommend.
Very good deal 11.95 plus tax for the pork combo (image shown). It was lunchtime rush so it took around 20 minutes to get our food. The food was delicious (minus the cake which tasted a bit stale) and the staff were friendly. The table we sat at was very small and snugly fit 2 food trays but it was still doable. Highly recommend 👌 Update: the spongecake was super delicious this time around. As a tradeoff, the udon noodles were in pieces and like warm...
Here’s the Kiwami I ordered. The taste and look are awful. It looks like it was fried in old oil, and the texture is limp. I’ve never had such bad tempura. Plus, we waited 30 minutes to get our food. I am curious how they make money with such a slow table turnover in a prime downtown location?
It was a cute and cozy shop with two women as servers. I tried ramen with chili oil mixed in tonkatsu broth for the first time, and it was really better than not mixed in. And Tendon has a lot of fries, so I was wondering if it might be greasy, but not at all! The price is not cheap for a ramen restaurant. Two of us went over $80 lol
Solid ramen in the bay corridor area if you’re craving something close. I prefer this to sansotei. Got the angus beef option and it was good, but a bit underwhelming. I prefer the other options on the menu as they are more to my liking and familiar flavours. Gyoza were pretty standard. The restaurant is clean, cozy and staff were attentive.
As I am not keen on trying new things but this ramen place caught my eye while dropping off my relatives yesterday Therefore I came in at 5:30pm as my dinner time, it was quiet and the restaurant was just about to start. Ordered their signature clam soup ramen in super size and my must test item the fried chicken nuggets “Karaage” and their roasted tea brownie dessert. Food was great and the place was packed in about an hour. I’m glad they serve an unique enough menu , that they make some ramen soup other people don’t have. Love the J-pop in the background too, one downside is the tables could be a bit more polished and tidier, otherwise it’s absolutely a great noodle place that you must try.
silky, delicious tasty broth good customer service food came within 10m of ordering variety of options (veggie too) cute, clean, modern interior below: spicy red Tonkotsu ramen (its a bareable spice, it s not going to burn your mouth by any means) A little on the pricier side compared to other ramen places, but inflation and location Will for sure be back on another one of my office lunch breaks
Cheap Ramen soup base. so watery they just add soy sauce for flavor
The food quality is significantly inferior to North York location.
Yummy food!
An amazing hidden hole in the wall that takes us back to Tokyo, Japan! With strengths in Ramen by Yamamoto and Tempura and Tendon (Tempura Donburi) restaurant by Akimitsu, the menu covers the best of both worlds. The owners have several awards and generation of mastered arts in traditional Tendon and even Michelin guide Tokyo One Star for Ramen (2019-2021). Food was amazing and really awesome! Do note, it gets pretty busy after 5:30pm and the tempura backlog may happen around 6:30pm but they are very accommodating on changes! We were wandering to another restaurant that was overly full and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. Its stairs with banners noted the awards and achievements, the faint glow of the restaurant lights with diners and lit up name of their restaurant, you can easily miss this location. Entering through the door, theres an Asakusa Station sign indicating where the main entrance is on your right. Main entrance has a waiting area, staff comes up to greet you and ask for ID and proof of vaccination. The lack of windows inside makes it feel like youve teleported back to Tokyo. The hanging noren (Japanese fabric dividers), wooden panel walls, the thin corridor space along with branches of trees, theres some thought that went into the restaurant that gives a nod to the Japanese ambiance. We tried a bit of everything since theyre known for their ramen and tempura (no tendon today). We ordered the Original Shoyu Tonkatsu Ramen (with extra chashu). Note, they dont char their chashu but sous-vides it for a different texture which is different from other ramen places in Toronto. The pork bone soup base was very rich, not too thick compared to other ramen places. The thin noodles were just right and not overly soft or hard, the way it would be in other Tokyo ramen stores weve been to. It is not as salty as most places. We also ordered the Vegetable Tempura Udon Set which comes with 7 vegetables (in Akimitsu original tempura batter on asparagus, shishito pepper, king oyster mushroom?, brown mushroom, pumpkin, yam and broccoli) , udon, tsukemono (Japanese pickles), 3 kinds of salt and tempura sauce. Hands down, the yam and pumpkin tempura were the best weve tried in Toronto. The batter was really light and didnt taste oily. Lastly, we tried their delicious chicken karaage which came with 5 pieces of fried chicken with Japanese mustard (karashi) mayo on the side. For all 3 ordered items, we paid a total of $50 for our food and was very stuffed afterwards! Overall, during our whole experience, the staff were very responsive and very prompt with checking on water and our experience. Needless to say, we had a great time and would come back again! Edit: We are back here again to share the love of food to friends.. food is still delicious - tried more items on the menu like the Wagyu Ramen, Signature Clam Mild Shio Ramen, Deep Fried King Mushroom, and Asakusa Tempura Udon Set. All were great options! The Wagyu Ramen was a great choice and came with a clear beef and chicken soup base with really delicious Wagyu beef. The Deep Fried King Mushroom was took us by surprise as the thinly sliced mushroom felt like chips. The Asakusa Tempura Udon set came with 2 prawn tempura, 3 seafood (salmon, unagi and herring roe), 2 vegetable (pumpkin, shishito pepper, yam) which were all great tempura options to cover all flavours!
The best tempura everr. Tastes like the one in Japan, very authentic. The tempura is so crispy and is incredible with the sause!
I had the Miso based Raman and it was amazing. full bodied and creamy. one of the best i ve had around the world.
OMG really really good
Foods are excellent !! Friendly service!!
The 2 servers that took care of us were amazing and attentive. When I finished my drink they were already on the move to refill it for me before I could even ask. The food was good and the service even better. 10/10 would recommend the apple juice was also superb
Great service and delicious food
Came by for a quick lunch. Ordered the Signature Clam Intense Shoyu Ramen with an egg. Good broth and pork chashu. Would come back.
Great food and service!!! One of the best Japanese Ramen I have ever tasted
delicious
Food was amazing and service was wonderful.
Love their clam broth!!! Michelin verified!!! Tempura is surprisingly good too!! Wowowowo and this branch is better than the one in North York lol.
I could feel the local taste of Japan and the rich broth was delicious. ^^
Came at non rush hour before 5pm, ordered and waited for more than half an hour for 2 bowls of ramen. From my experience, ramen takes less than 3 minutes to cook. I sat close to the kitchen so I could see they were packaging for to go ramens. We finally couldn t wait any longer, so asked the waitress. Then both ramen came in 2 minutes. Ramen noodles were under cooked. Also there was a small chunk of unsolved sauce paste. The taste was just mediocre. The clam broth tasted better than the ramen itself. The table next to us were also waiting for a long time after their order. So they asked the waitress too. Then their ramen came in 2 minutes. This restaurant is here to test your limit. It is overrated and overpriced.
Food was good. We enjoyed the ramen and tempura. However, this is probably the worst service I ve received in a Japanese restaurant. The dine in space is a long rectangular space. We sat at the far end. The food came slow. The only chance you see your server is when they bring your food or when they bring food to the table next to you. If you forget to ask for something when they show up, you probably have to wait another 30 minutes to see them. They never check on you. This is a ramen place but prepare to spend 2 hours dining
Definitely an amazing experience and the udon set was AMAZINGGGGG
Food
Worst restaurant service
Very good.
Original Soyou Ramen, a choice you won t regret! The same taste I had in Osaka 10 years ago!
A great spot for Ramen. Loved the broth with its smoky flavour as I tried Wagyu Angus beef Ramen.
Love the food and the space
Fantastic dumplings and even hotter spicy ramen broth. The broth is something I have not tasted before so I ll give them 10/10 for that. There s an authenticity to their place starting with interesting art work, to the little things on their menu. Recommended to coworkers and they fell in love as well.
Very good lunch deal! And tasty!
This is the most authentic Japanese tempura rice bowl I have eaten in Toronto so far. The price is very reasonable, the portion is generous, and the service staff is very friendly.
They had a fancy apple juice that I liked as well
Im usually more of a noodle person, but the tempera here is AMAZING. Not too oily, well seasoned, extreme umami. Would highly recommend any of the tempura dishes or bowls.
Best tempura I have eaten.
Very nice restaurant. The host was very pleasant and professional. We stopped by for lunch. Food was really good and appears to use high quality ingredients. I recommend
The food is ok, but the hygiene is poor. There were many grease stains on the seat I sat on, and by the time I noticed, they had already stuck to my pants. Despite multiple washes at home, I still couldnt get them out. Additionally, the floor was very slippery, and I constantly worried about falling. I would recommend the restaurant improve its cleanliness and suggest diners check the chairs for cleanliness before sitting down.
Nice environment, special food!
A solid 3 stars. I tried the tempura, and it was meh for the 45-minute wait. To be fair, I came 15 minutes from the allowable time to order tempura, but the server never came back to me which led many other tables to order ahead and my order went to the very last. I felt I was fortunate. Might be back to try the ramen, which Im quite particular with. HOT TIP: Best to not complicate things with servers. Just order as you get there
The ramen was just delicious
That pork on the ramen was fat and tasty
not the best ramen you really can find better in Toronto
I went there with my friend. The ramen was really good and we were so satisfied, however, one of Japanese female server was rude af to us. Even we understand Japanese, she was gossiping about us and it was so annoying. The worst experience ever in Canada honestly I m so disappointed.
Good ramen but a bit salty for myself, only me in my group. Overall the food is tasty.
Ramen was incredibly delicious and service was attentive
Location: 5* Tempura, Ramen & Gyoza: 4* Price: 4* Table Service: 4* Soup: 3* Pickles and Rice: 2* poor quality Ventilation: 2* can be smokey and smelly Waiting list: 1* non-exist, very messy during busy hours, everyone scrammed in a small waiting area without any form of registrations
Very good broth, fast service. A great lunch time option for mid work day.
Terrific place to get Ramen in the city. Very nice environment, and the ramen is of great quality and fair prices. Recommend the gyoza as an appetizer!
30 mins of waiting time for a ramen
The alcohol selection could be better, besides that fair prices, and a good selection of ramen, and appetizers.
Tempura is delicious
Cute little place. No reservations, had to wait about 20-30 min. But it s amazing food, some of the best ramen we ve ever had.
Japanese waiters were very friendly and nice. The tempuras are a must try at this location !
Ramen galore!! Food was delicious!!
Ive been to both the North York location and downtown location several times before. I gave the food 4 stars because normally I get the ramen and its perfect and flavourful and I have no complaints. This time, I decided to try the dual unagi donburi with the highly recommended onsen tamago tempura. Now Ive had ajitama in ramen before and also have had/really enjoy soft boiled and poached eggs. When I cut through the tempurad egg, the yolk was entirely running and had quite a bit of raw gelatinous flowy whites around the edge. I would call this underdone for a soft boiled egg, since Ive had some with a very thin shell of cooked yolk and a soft non-flowy white. When I brought this to the attention of a staff member, they insisted that an onsen egg was supposed to be this runny and refused to do anything further. I just had to take that part out of my food. Now Im sure that most eggs are still safe to eat a bit raw in Canada when youre not immunocompromised but I guess this could be a PSA to anyone who is remotely turned off by semiliquid whites. Power to you if you enjoy it. Service was fine if you count it as only requiring the staff to bring you food from the kitchen. There was no attempt at water refilling or anything else. Will be back for the tried and true food if Im in the area but will not expect them to do anything differently if I had a problem.
Amazing Ramen! This location however does not have the best air conditioning.
I can t believe I can eat a famous Tokyo restaurant in Toronto!! I received a set of soy sauce ramen with shrimp tempura. Its impressive to be able to eat elegant ramen with a strong shellfish flavor overseas! ! In the area of America where I live, there are good restaurants, but they only serve Americanized tonkotsu ramen... I was happy to be able to eat Japanese delicate ramen! There are two types of chashu: rose and loin. Japans latest ramen includes things like char siu from different parts! Im so excited! lol The hall and kitchen were filled with Japanese people, so I was thrilled to hear so many Japanese! The shrimp tempura roll was also delicious. Thank you for the meal!
This place was soo cute! I had their vegetarian ramen which had the most unique flavour! With the heavy cream, the dish can get quite heavy overall so be prepared to be full and satisfied after this dish. The shop was so cute too and the service was great. I ll be coming here again for sure.
I got the Asakusa Tempura set that came with 3 pcs of veg, 2 shrimp, and 3 pcs of seafood (salmon, eel & fish eggs). Everything was so fresh, and crispy! I love being able to dip it in different salt flavours and the tempura dipping sauce. My partner got the shoyu ramen and it was decent. Definitely try out their tempura! The service was fast, and super friendly.
Love their ramen. The broth is creamy, rich and so flavourful. I do like this place better than other ramen places (although I havent tried all places). Red bowl is the black smoky. Vegetarian is also good.
Everything was nice. Had the Lobster Ramen and asked for chicken instead of pork. So filling. Started with the chicken karage, but I wasnt a fan of the dipping sauce. Food
Vegetarian options: I ordered the vegetarian style cream soup. It was basically Alfredo sauce not soup like at all very heavy cream it was completely inedible, zero flavor just oil and cream, my stomach hurts just thinking about it. I m not a complainer hard to please kinda guy but it was not good. The manager gave me a 10% discount lol . I barely ate the soup (pasta) anyways I won t be back. The service was great though, very nice servers.
Great Ramen. I loved the clam based version. We had very pleasant helpful and efficient service. The music was calm and it was easy to talk. The decor was just right. We will return.
Very good tempura, I got the Asakusa set this time and was not disappointed. Their ramen noodles are a little more firm than I prefer them to be. If you do get tempura be aware that the wait times can be +30min or more. It was like that the last time and more recently when I went. The waitress did give us a heads up after we ordered though; would have preferred a heads up before ordering. Usually I worry that takeout tempura is soggy, but it actually stayed crispy for the walk back.
I ate a vegetarian ramen. It was my first time to eat kind of vegetarian. That taste was creamy and super delicious !! Definitely I m gonna come back to eat Vegetation ramen again :) Food : 5/5 |
Everything great. I ate clam Shio Ramen, The most delicious thing Ive ever eaten. Id like to try a different type of ramen next time!
Excellent ramen
Ramen and side dishes are very good and staffs also great. You should come here.
I visit here often. I like the pork ramen and vegetarian ramen. The vegetarian ramen is delicious. Even if you are not vegetarian, it will satisfy you. I recommend this ramen shop in Toronto. Food
The ramens are soo goood and the staff are nice too!
The ramen and tempura were both very tasty and more faithful to Japanese flavors. The yuzu shrimp ramen was especially good, with a wonderful yuzu aroma. The vegetable ramen was also delicious, and the creamy avocado was a perfect match! The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with many cats and posters decorating the interior. I would go back again Vegetarian options: Vegetarian dishes are also available and safe.
[update 2024] Im back after 2 years and its great again, but man is it expensive Years ago I tried it and the soup was disappointing but the noodles were so good I could eat them plain. Now the soup is really good but the noodles are nothing special
Soooo good
Very interesting broth. It tastes just as how you would imagine it - like clamp and oyster sauce. Mind you, it does not mean that it is better than the usual pork boned base, but certainly is very refreshing when you want a ramen that is not fatty and overwhelming.
I ve been here twice just to get their downtown location special which was yuzu shrimp shio ramen. Nothing could beat this combination of flavors. I ve also had wagyu ramen the other day. It had pork, beef and chicken if I remembered correctly. Both ramens are highly recommended. They also have donburi menus which come from different restaurant. I ve never tried them yet but I ll give a try next time.
I ve been to the Yorkdale one, but I like this location much better. I m not sure if the ingredients are different, but it just tastes better- it s also MUCH cheaper. There s also many more options compared to the yorkdale one- including bowls! My friends got the bowls and it seemed really yummy so I m gonna get it next time (they had a unagi-tempura one! Insane!) The ramen was quality (and cheaper ), with many options. They had a special too. I got the intense clam one, it was rlly good and I didn t feel heavy afterwards. And as usually, remember to get an egg! The service was good, didn t take too long. And the atmosphere is what you find in any other restaurant but there s nothing to take away negatively from it. Will absolutely be back for the bowls thank you for having me :)
Had the Unagi Dual Don and it was good. Tempura was crispy and the Unagi was great as well. Also tried the karaage and it was much better than expect for an appetizer. Usually the karaage at ramen places are meh but they were tender and easy to bite into. Service was very polite and fast. Good place for a quick meal.
Best spicy shoyu ramen Ive ever had, you can tell its homemade!! I live in the city and its my go to everytime!! The spicy black garlic is also fantastic!! Never had fried king mushroom chips before, super delicious!!
better than the yorkdale one which was already pretty good
The only place I go to get tempura!
We were there around 4:45pm and there were about 3 tables being served (they already had their food). There seemed to be enough staff but it took about 15 mins to get our server even after flagging them down twice that we were ready to order. We ordered two items and it took 35 mins for it to come (I was on the phone and looked back to see how long it took). We didn t order anything extraordinary. Our first dish came and it was warm, soup wasn t hot & the egg was cold on the inside. Not sure if that s how it s meant to be served, it was supposed to be poached. Food tasted fine but it wasn t outstanding. Was the beef slice with rice/egg. Our second dish came after we shared our first dish since it took so long, and served at the same time of another customer s food who just sat down maybe 15 minutes before the second dish was served. It was the eel rice. It was good but again after waiting for so long and eating for like 10 mins and* that the food served was only warm, the dinning experience was lengthy, unnecessarily long and IMO not up to par with restaurant service time.
Simply the best and most authentic. Just incredible!
The Wagyu beef ramen was super beefy!
Good food, good taste, good people
The place is not fancy and super clean, but the food is 5 star.
Everything is very rich, Delicious!
Very good Ramen.
Staff and food are incredible! Love this spot
The place was packed, the staff werent rude but were too busy to explain anything to us. The food was just not my thing. I ordered the tempura shrimp/ vegetables accompanied with a miso soup. The tempura was too oily for my taste and the miso soup was hands down the worst Ive ever tried. My son and the rest of the gang ordered Ramen (there were 6 of us altogether) The broth was ok but all raved about the egg. Voted best egg theyve ever had. Appetizers were ordered, personally I thought they were all too greasy. Will probably never come here again.
I have visited this nice ramen spot, I found it to be a peaceful place with a warm atmosphere. The staffs gentle service paired well with the nice flavors of their ramen. Its a place where you can enjoy the dining experience while enjoying thoughtfully crafted bowls of delicious noodles! I recommend this place for those seeking a nice ramen place!
If you dont have an allergy to clam, you should try this CLAM SHIO RAMEN asap. Easily the best ramen broth I had in Toronto and I understand why they said this combination of clam, chicken and pork broth was FULL BODIED just like full bodied wine! Their noodles game was strong as well. Both ramen & cold udon noodles very bouncy and cooked well! Only thing I did not care much was their tempura, I had better ones before. But again this clam broth!!!!
Tastes great and service is very friendly!
Ordered 6, received 4
Ramen tastes good but expensive.
I ve been to Konjiki numerous times before, but wanted to try this location in particular because they offer a special menu dedicated to tempura. After trying, I have to say this location has to be the worst out of all the Konjiki chains. Upon entering there is a sickly oil smell, I m guessing from lack of ventilation from deep frying. Food was underwhelming, but I am shocked at how terrible the service was. There was only three tables and three servers were struggling to serve all of us. When we got our food, we didn t get any cutlery. After waiting a bit, we asked a server for cutlery to which she rolled her eyes at us as if we were inconveniencing her. Very surprising as Konjiki holds themselves to a high standard. Avoid this location and go the extra mile to the Yorkdale or North York location instead.
Respect to every individual either customer or delivery driver is lacking.
The waiters are nice and explain everything in detail. He recommended temper eels and it was awesome. I love the place bc it s the first place I can replace ramen with udon!!! Tomatoes in black garlic soup are smoky and sweet. Super interesting and tasty flavor
Excellent service all around, and food was delicious
The make the best unagi tampura!!! Service is slow but their tendon is the best
Has been my favourite ramen for years and still is. My favourite is the shio clam - the clam flavour stands out more in the lighter broth!
Amazing food, Absolutely loved the ambiance, service and suggestions from the waiters. I had the limited edition Wagyu & Angus Beef Sanyo Ramen which was delicious.
FOOD: we walked out being super full and satisfied. Seafood Kakiage Tempura Udon Set (add on Sous-vide Pork Chashu): one of the best tempura udon I have tried. The tempura shrimps are really big, broth is clear and light, noodles were cooked to perfection. Asakusa Tendon: a large bowl full of tempura that you have to dig in down to the bottom to find rice. VIBE: Small little ramen shop and the line up is INSANE. Reservation not excepted and we wait about 45min to get a table for 2. The restaurant is quite loud and noisy, people have to scream at each other. SERVICE: decent service, food doesnt take too long to be served.
Delicious ramen
The spicy red one was too salty to have and I couldnt eat it at all
All time favourite!!! Delicious ramen.
Its located right next to the Chelsea Hotel, and I really like the quality of the food. Everyone from the chef to the staff are Japanese, so I was able to expect original Japanese taste and service :) However, the time of my visit was on a weekend evening, so when I was getting tired of waiting for an hour after ordering, I was able to smile again thanks to the staff who brought me the meal with a truly sorry expression and said, Im sorry for making you wait so long. It was so delicious that it was worth the wait^^ I once again realized this very obvious fact: you should avoid crowded times like weekends when visiting popular restaurants. Still, I will visit here next time I come to Toronto. Even though it was packaged, the tempura was as crispy and the udon noodles were as firm as eating at a restaurant :)
We waited for 20 minutes. Two groups with same number of people as us were seated but the server never seated us. When we went inside and asked the server to seat us, he made us go outside and wait again. Very unprofessional and unexpected.
Not a big menu to choose from but I ll still give it a 5 because their ramen is actually very well made!!
Best Tempura ever!
So great to find a dedicated veggie ramen. Coming back to try the tendon!
Responding to owners response: I certainly will, when the ventilation is improved. I was longing for the food reading the reviews. Nevertheless, too stuffy, cant even breathe once I stepped inside the restaurant. Feeling outrageously dizzy. Had to leave before we made our order. Tables are basically attached to each other, extremely packed and uncomfortable. Will consider coming back for food if the whole environment and setting and ventilation get improvements.
plentiful portions and authentic taste. Tempura shop and ramen are in the same shop on the first floor.
Chill place nice atmosphere washrooms are very clean open concept kitchen makes you feel your in a ramen place in japan food is great. Good place for a date or just having fun with friends.
It is the second time we have eaten at this restaurant. The food is wonderful, especially the Ramen. Totally recommended.
Ramen was very meh. Also ordered chicken karaage but the chicken was too fatty and oily. Would not come back again
One of the best ramen in Toronto. The servers were attentive and kind, great ambience.
Home of the original wagyu ramen in Toronto. Flavors are great here and the ramen is creamy and have strong hints of garlic. I highly recommend going here when in the downtown core. The tempura here is top notch and the wagyu ramen is a thick cut and only available on some days. The karaage here is crispy and ordering a don with your meal is not going to be too filling.
The juice is fantastic. Tried the signature clam .5 stars all the way.
The service is so slow. The staff is not friendly at all, she said she doesn t care, you have to wait. There are better ways to talk to customers, other than rudely asking them to wait.
Ordered the clam broth clear ramen and shoyu base. The soup was flavoured and not heavy like tonkotsu ramen. (I prefer tonkotsu ramen in winter but it s a good choice with the seafood broth in summer). The noodles were cooked perfectly to my taste, tangly. - Washroom is in the basement, steep stairs.
Ramen at other locations is good. But inaccurate opening information listed here. We arrived at 2:35pm when the website claim close at 3:00pm. The staff won t let us in saying last call was just passed. When I suggested him to update the information online, I wad given a weird facial expression rather than a yes answer.
My Dad, sister and I were walking around downtown Toronto and came across this place... It looked cozy from the outside and inviting enough. So we went in... we were seated immediately and were served fast enough (I believe we went in after the 12nn rush) since it was brisk that day, we decided to have their ramen. My dad got the seafood ramen and gyoza while my sister got the meaty ramen (cant remember which one) while I got the vegetarian ramen. the vegetarian ramen was Awesome!!! it is so flavorful! and the use of avocado as the base is just brilliant! (I could only hope we have this in Edmonton) it was a random place to eat at since we dont live in GTA but I recommend this place to anyone I know going to Toronto.
DAAAANG this is such a good spot on a rainy day ~ we came cold and starving and left warm and full ( ^ ^ ) Theres also a bomb tempura donburis so weather your in the mood for noodles or rice this place has you covered ( )
Ordered a Smokey Black Tonkostu Ramen and Ebi curry from Uber Eats. A dead fly in the Ramen soup. So gross!
The waiters were very inexperienced. We spent 10 minutes just standing at the door, there were a lot of people lined up. The ramen we got smelled rotten, the waiter spent 10 minutes on the phone with the manager to get answer, they decided to replace the ramen. Not a good experience
I love the tempura here. Even though it can get crowded, I dont mind waiting because Asakusa Tendon offers both great taste and generous portions that truly satisfy.
When I came to eat at the restaurant where I love the friendly atmosphere and the food was excellent. So I spend a very relaxing time here.
The server with the long black hair sucked. He was so rude, so slow, he even throw the menu. It was my worst experience ever. I will go back when he s fired.
Eel tempura is the best.
This was my third time coming here. First two times were amazing but the last time I decided to splurge and get the Waygu Ramen. All of the beef was cooked way past well done eventhough the pictures of it were all rare. There was also lots of gristle slices of connective tissue that came on top of the meat cubes that accompanied it. Overall was not a great experience and it came out to $55 for the ramen, beer and tip... Expect more for that price. Shouldve stuck with the main menu items. Still top 5 ramen in the city but, wont be trying anything besides the clam and the black tonkotsu going forward.
Food and service are excellent. Will definitely go again.
For something that took 40 minutes to be ready, I was expecting a much higher quality food. Unfortunately, what I received was extremely salty and greasy fast food. I couldn t finish my meal even though the portions were small. There are many better ramen places in the city.
Great ramen in downtown Toronto. Great toppings with firm noodles.
This location did not deliver we were with friends for lunch and ordered 4 ramen dishes we were surprised to see bak-choy veggie, cherry tomatoes and what looked like slices of store bought packaged meat in the dish. Even more surprising there was an additional charge for the egg that was always typically a part of the dish but we decided not to bother having. It was disappointing to even see a fly or two flying around inside the restaurant which was very off putting. We frequently visited the North York location and it always delivered in terms of quality, flavoring with typical ingredients for this wonderful dish that is so uniquely Japanese. It was very obviously different between the two locations as even the décor inside the restaurant did not look as inviting as the North York location.
Food was not bad, service was horrible. After we got our food, nobody checked on us, the server was busy with laptop. Utensils had stains. We ordered vegetarian foods, and didn t know their fried cheese had fish in it. When I asked, the server said the name of the dish means fish cake in Japanese, and left. But obviously I m not Japanese, how should I know. When customers are ordering vegetarian options, it s obviously their job to let customers know that it contains fish in it. I didn t even touch the food. Of course I was gonna pay, and not taking it home, but I thought that it was server s job to ask customers like if everything was okay, is there anything wrong with the food, do you need take out box etc. It was very messy, dirty, and everything was horrible.
Highly recommend this place. A chill atmosphere, lovely staff and very yummy food!
The food was okay. The service was hilarious. I raised my hand to get a Server s attention when he walked by and he gave me the hand. My friend s and I were all shocked. A different server came to take our order. Food : 3/5
Good seafood tempura
The tonkotsu ramen with egg was so flavourful and savoury- almost creamy. Service was quick and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Will be coming back on future rainy days!
I always take the time to stop by this location whenever I head downtown. The Intense Shoyu is to die for - don t skip the egg!! It s savoury, just the right temperature and the noodles are nice and chewy without being under or over cooked. Food feels like it was made with love and is a hug in a bowl. Servers are always kind but don t pester you, which I love.
Everything was perfect: tonkotsu ramen, music and interior design, kitchen ware and friendly and professional staff.
The regular ramen here is delicious but it s the special ramen that made Konjiki stand out - the lobster ramen in particular was amazing, with a surprisingly large quantity of lobster in lobster bisque that wasn t overpowering but was also very satisfying The wagyu ramen was also delicious, though a bit too much salt Staff were amazing
Seriously good ramen. The tonkotsu broth has the perfect balance of creaminess without at all being too rich. Tasty as heck. The toppings are also great, with quality menma and perfectly cooked seasoned egg. The pork chashu is pretty unique as its really lean and thin sliced instead of rich, thick, and fatty. So if you arent huge on fatty pork, this is your spot.
Very average ramen, salty and fishy. It s also quite smoky in the restaurant. Not Michelin level at all as they brand
The service was a little disappointing. There were empty tables but had to wait for more than 15 mins to get that same table later. The ramen is good as usual.
Amazing food, glad we checked it out while we were in Toronto. Both the vegetarian ramen and signature clam ramen were delicious.
Ramen was decent, noodles had good texture and broth wasnt oily and clean finish. Toppings that are usually included at other places as part of set need to be added on, e.g. egg. Their choices are mainly pork or seafood - no chicken broth. I wasnt impressed with this place because I had made reservstions over the phones days ago and when I got there they didnt honour the time. We ended up waiting an hour and didnt get our food for another 30 minutes. The place wasnt managing the traffic and flow of customers well. I am not saying dont go, but I dont think I will ever come back, unfortunately.
Great ramen at good prices. I was pleasantly surprised by the clam ramen. It was full of flavour, not too salty and not fishy at all. The fried king mushrooms were more batter than mushrooms, sadly. Too oil and it was also too salty for us.
The restaurant is busy, and does not have a lot of tables, so you have to go early for dinner. The tempura are always good, a must eat item. This time, the prawns did not look as big, but still very yummy. Food
Excellent tempura and ramen
I recently visited Konjiki Ramen with my friends and had a delightful experience. I ordered the Yuzu Ebi ramen, and it was a savory delight. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of seasoning. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, adding a fantastic texture to the dish. The noodles were cooked just right, offering a satisfying chewiness. The overall presentation and service were excellent as well. It was a great outing with friends, and I would highly recommend Konjiki Ramen to any ramen enthusiast looking for a tasty and enjoyable meal.
Absolutely amazing, I live in LA and wanted to find a great ramen spot, this was recommended to me and it s was really really delicious.
Signature clam broth ramen (soup is delicious, rarely do I finish ramen soup, clam + truffle + porcini flavour in good balance. Pork is disappointing, a little dry. Noodle is fine. Overall decent but not hugely impressive Tendon set with udon and ikura rice (tempura are average. Ikura rice got little ikura and the rice is really disappointing with mediocre sauce. Terrible udon puffy and soggy with little soup, no texture
I enjoy their clam shoyu ramen. Service wasnt the best last time I went. Slow to attend, had to grab someones attention to place an order, was on the verge of asking for refill on water until they finally came around. Just seemed very unaware.
The place is small but the food is really good, they have delicious ramen and they have vegetarian options. the staff is very helpful.
Lovely downtown ramen restaurant! Service was lovely including the food!
Worth the wait in line. Largest shrimp/prawn tempura! Looking forward to trying all their ramen flavours.
This is a delicious ramen restaurant based on seafood and chicken broth. This is a very new and delicious ramen restaurant.
inconsistent service. sometimes it takes 15min to serve the food. at other times, it takes up to 45 minutes for a bowl of ramen. not a good idea to come if time matters to you
The clam broth ramen is quite unique for ramen as not meat based and one could also switch the meat with tofu nuggets. I also ordered the vegetarian ramen just to try but asked to be without noodles so wouldnt have as much calories! They were very thoughtful and out the ingredients on the side for the vegetarian ramen. The soup broth was a nice blend of mushroom, avocado, cream and lemon.
Perfect as always!
The portions are kinda small, I ordered beef don (The miso soup Is amazing and I asked them for spicy sauce or chili oil to eat with my meal, and at the end of the bill they charged me 2 dollars for the spicy without telling me anything beforehand. It seems excessive to me that they charge for spicy and that it is 2 dollars. The service is good, and the waiters are friendly, but the extra charge situation was definitely not pleasant at all.
Strongly recommend the tempura, they are not oily and cooked just right!
Calm base ramen is extraordinary. Worth a try. $2 egg is perfect.
Best tempura in Toronto!!!! Very nice restaurant. My friend asked for substitute the pork because she doesn t like meat, and they gave us a lot of other options to choose. Friendly staffs , they always smile I have very good experience at this restaurant! Ramen tasted really delicious too!!! Highly recommend
Service was very good, staff super friendly and working hard. Food was good, not outstanding. I had the wagyu and angus beef ramen. Broth was great. Meat was a hit and miss, one type was tender and tasty and the other like leather. Both were overcooked but I m guessing the wagyu was the tender meat. I do want to mention that the egg was perfect. I would consider going again to try another dish because overall it was good (but not great). The lemon drink I had was nice.
Good noodles, rich broth, wish they added a few more noodles!
Broth was rich. Chicken was crispy. Quick service! Wish there were only more noodles!
This is a Michelin recognized restaurant with the regular ramen price. They use great ingredients and have the most unique vegetarian ramen with avocado broth. I got this Smokey ramen and what I love about this one it s not greasy the meat slices are lean and soft to chew. Tasty as hell!
Loved the food, fast service. We ordered fried mushroom, lobster ramen and spicy miso ramen. Food
Visited a few weeks ago with my friend and I ordered lobster ramen. It came after at least 30 mins wait. The soup tasted very weird and might be too light. I told the waitress and she provided more soup base. After adding it was slightly better. I also tried one spoon of soup with more soup base and that turned to be what I usually had in ramen. So I felt my soup missed the soup base totally. I told the waitress my thoughts when I was paying the bill but she said it was impossible. No apologies or even try to confirm my words, she insisted that s how the soup should taste like and there was another customer who just ordered the same ramen after me finished with no words. If that s the case, I d say this is the worst ramen I ve ever had.
Flavours are through the roof! Ramen was great, expect a lineup but worth the wait!
The ramen taste like instant noodle, the noodle itself taste a bit weird. It doesn t taste like a soup, rather just a broth they got and didn t add much to. Pretty disappointed. But the tempura is delicious!
Extremely mediocre tempura with over inflated price. Do not recommend
Some of the best ramen Ive had in this continent, a must go in Toronto for ramen lovers.
The food was very good but not for the rest, I feel disappointed about this branch.
