Aleria’s Christmas On Queen in Toronto

The waitress, Eleanor, is amazing! My boyfriend and I decided to visit Aleria after seeing multiple videos showcasing how beautifully it was decorated for Christmas, and we were excited to enjoy some festive drinks and a cozy meal. We knew there would be a wait, and the manager kindly informed us that it would be about two hours. We put our names on the list and returned when we were second in line. We were seated on the lower level, and Eleanor, our waitress, was the one who took us to our table. Unfortunately, it didn t take long to realize that sitting there was a huge mistake there were two large parties, and the noise from one of them was overwhelming. It was nearly impossible to have a conversation, and we were pretty frustrated. We asked Eleanor if there was any way to move to a quieter spot, and though she initially had no luck, she was incredibly understanding. After we expressed how difficult it was to enjoy the meal in that environment and that we were contemplating leaving and going somewhere else, she didn t hesitate to check with the manager again. She returned shortly after with great news she d moved us to the best table in the restaurant with a fantastic view. Eleanor s service was above and beyond. She was polite, accommodating, and genuinely cared about our experience. She truly understood where we were coming from, and it made all the difference. Even though she wasn t our server for the rest of the evening, she stopped by to check on us later to ensure everything was going well, which is the kind of legendary service you don t see often. Thanks to Eleanor, we had a wonderful evening, and we will definitely be back to Aleria. Her attentiveness and kindness made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommend this restaurant as it is beautiful, cozy and the food is amazing as well!

I came here because of all the Christmas decor; it definitely caught our eyes.A Christmas vibe and decor. They had a whole Christmas drink menu that was accompanied in the cutest Christmas mugs. Recommend this place if you re walking by or Christmas lovers.

A bit of a wait to get in but out server Sean made us feel welcomed right after. Very good drinks and would recommend the phyllo feta and crispy calamari!

The bouncer is incredibly rude and unprofessional - my friends and I were treated with so much attitude because he thought we had fake IDs which after much investigation, we in fact did not. We re all very much legal and above 19 from Vancouver. People that aren t from Ontario exist! He didn t know where to find date of birth on the card so I pointed out where it was and he simply started mocking us even though we all showed a secondary piece of ID as well as a credit card as a third. After much hassle, he finally learnt that we weren t in fact lying lol. Learn how to recognize out of province IDs and even if you think they re fake, treat people with respect instead of straight up opening the door and telling us to leave immediately - safe to say we aren t coming back lol no thank you

UPDATE: FRAUD ALERT!!! *** This place is a SCAM. Stay away and don t leave your card details on OpenTable when booking*** After we dined there, paid our bill and left, Aleria charged my card $120. They manually cancelled my reservation after we dined there, and charged a no show fee of $20 per person (6 people), despite we actually were there! In my text correspondence with the restaurant requesting to refund this unauthorized charge, the owner said that my money will be donated . Screen shots attached. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had our reservation for 10:30pm. Booked a month in advance. Our table wasn t ready for 20min after we arrived. Hostess girl was extremely arrogant and negative. She mostly wanted us to leave than deal with the issue. The experience we ve been waiting for was completely ruined right after we came in due to extremely unwelcoming hostess. Ruined the vibe. Eventually, we found a standing table at the bar are by ourselves. The server from Spain was the only nice person we ve met there. The place is surely overrated and staff look very unhappy with their jobs. Nobody cares about customers due to how busy they are now. Not worth the time or effort. Not coming back.

The christmas decorations are absolutely magical. Their holiday drink menu is equally impressive. I tried their S mores on the Rock, and wow, it was so good. The whole place has such a cozy, fun atmosphere, and the staff keeps the energy festive. Food

I had an unforgettable experience at this restaurant The service was exceptional. It was my birthday on the day I visited, and to my absolute surprise, our server Isabel went out of her way to prepare a special birthday song for me. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that made my day even more and special. I truly appreciate the effort and kindness. I will definitely be coming back to this amazing restaurant!

it was my first time here tonight and it was fantastic. With Celiac disease i aways check the menus before hand and was plesantly surprised to see that any items were naturally gluten free. Our server Elanor was attentive with checking with the kitchen to confirm my order was safe. The food was delicious and the decor was inspiring.

I have been to Aleria a few times now and I always have such a great experience. Today I went to check the Xmas decoration and it was such a fun night! The hostess was so welcoming and put us on the waitlist because we did not have a reservation. We waited at the bar and tried a few of their special drinks, and i really recommend the elf s elixir! After we got a text that our table was ready, we were quickly sat and ordered our food. The saganaki was my favorite, and my friend was obsessed with the lamb chops! Staff was super helpful and took a bunch of pictures for us! 10/10 experience for sure!

We had a very poor experience that has since been made worse by the owner, manager and hostess. Despite showing up to our reservation and eating and drinking at Aleria. We were charged $120 no show fee because we ended up downstairs (where it s admittedly beautiful and super cute) instead of seated upstairs. At no point were we warned or informed that sitting in a different area would cause such a fee. There were disagreements with the hostess as we were waiting and trying to figure out seating. No scene as claimed by the owner in messages (if there was I m sure the security would have had no problem telling us all to leave). However, trying to punish people for a situation by fraudulently charging their credit card for not being there is unacceptable. Be very wary of giving your Credit Card to these fraudsters.

Visited for the Christmas Pop-Up. So much effort has gone into the decor and I commend the bar for that. However, the cocktails left something to be desired. The cocktails dont really match expectations from promo videos (they dont have any smoked cocktails anymore) and one of them seemed to have green food coloring in it (eee). Other than pinning a little holiday message on the cocktails, they werent very festive - just served in regular glassware, other than one, and werent necessarily that tasty either if youre big into cocktails. The food was served on plastic Christmas platters which cheapened the vibe. A nice attempt, but could be better executed. I would recommend visiting this place when its not a pop-up - normally they have a great smoked cocktail, decent food, and a good ambiance outside of the holidays.

Disappointing Experience with Rude Staff and Unprofessional Management We had a reservation for six people made via OpenTable, and another reservation was made separately for two more friends, totaling eight in our group. Upon arrival, we asked the hostess if we could all be seated together. Instead of assisting us, she was extremely rude and dismissive, claiming there were no tables for six or eight, only a table for four. One couple ended up sitting there, while the rest of us had to wait at the bar. This was frustrating, especially since our reservation for six was never honored. After a prolonged and unpleasant interaction with the hostess, the remaining six of us finally decided to stay at the bar for drinks and food. Despite this, we spent a significant amount of money during our visit. To make matters worse, the person who made the original reservation was later charged $120 for canceling, even though it was the restaurant that failed to accommodate us. Attempts to resolve this with management were met with hostility. One of the responses, allegedly from the owner, was shocking: I m the owner. I ll donate your money. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect for customers is unacceptable. We are adults and parents who arranged babysitting to enjoy a festive night out with friends, only to face appalling treatment from the staff and management. There are many other wonderful Christmas-themed bars that offer better service and a welcoming atmosphere. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place entirely. We certainly will not be returning.

They are double charging clients. Bad service, don t honour your reservation on file, charge your card on file without authorization. We re reporting them to authorities.

I thought Christmas is the time to be happy - and people have so much to complain about. If you dont like the food, dont order it. Youre old enough to know what food you like. The staff is way too nice and should kick everyone out who has a stick up their rear. A lady next to me tried to pick a fight with one of the servers, like she only went out to fight instead of enjoying the beautiful pop up. All the make up in the face and still unhappy. I never write reviews but this is getting out of hand. People are so unhappy with themselves and think they can do whatever they want. Get a job, go to the gym and put your negative energy somewhere, but not into the servers that are doing their best. Merry Christmas.

The place really went all out with the decorations. I think this is the most beautiful Christmas-themed restaurant in town. Im glad I booked a table in advance because they are very busy. The service is very friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced for Toronto at $18. I thought it would be very expensive, but to my surprise, it was cheaper than other places in the area

Second time here and loved it again! Staff is professional and friendly, foods really good, prices are more than fair. Currently, xmas times, they have all set up and looks amazing, perfect spot for pic freaks. Special mention to Judith, who took well care of my family and me, great service and always on point. Clean, well maintained, excellent cuisine and delicious drinks!! Dont miss out guys!

The staff and service at Aleria were absolutely amazing! The Christmas decorations added a great touch festive and funny, making the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The food was fantastic; I had the chicken souvlaki, and it was cooked to perfection. We came here during a work event, and the experience made the night truly special. Highly recommend Aleria for both the food and the wonderful ambiance!

The food was not delicious, it was ok but too expensive for the quality and flavour! The rice on the side of the food was almost uncooked and we had to swallow the food with the help of salt and pepper as well as extra tetziki!

Really cool place. Atmosphere is PEAK for Xmas lovers (like myself). Naughty cocktail, saganaki, and short ribs were very, very good. Now we all have that one server in our lives who was so clearly the best we ve ever encountered, they become the gold standard in our brains that all future servers are compared to (and never live up to). My NEW gold standard server is Alyssa at Aleria s.

My sisters and I booked Aleria specifically for the Pop Up Christmas decor and it was super cute and festive! Great photo ops everywhere. Even the washroom is festive! Food was delicous and the cocktails even better. Our waitress Elena was super friendly and gave great service the entire time.

We had a nice time at Aleria! It was super packed, I had made this reservation a month ago. My boyfriend and I were seated on a high top table in the bar section (there was another dining area for bigger tables and parties. Our surroundings were very loud and crowded from the music and people who couldn t get reservations or were only there for drinks which I didn t love but it wasn t a huge deal. Our service was great, I didn t get the servers name but she was sweet. The food was yummy! Loved the saganaki and feta fries. Overall it was a nice Christmas experience, I d go again.

Booked a reservation for myself and three friends for the Christmas on Queen after seeing the beautiful setup on social media. The decor lived up to the hype, but the rest of the experience was mediocre. I ve been to a number of Christmas bars and the drinks at Aleria were pretty boring compared with previous experiences elsewhere. The presentation was disappointing - not as decorative as the photos on their Instagram account and felt rushed. I understand it was extremely busy, but the quality suffered as a result. The food was also mediocre - small portions and very expensive for what you received. A friend ordered the spanakopita which said they were mini. The order came with four tiny pastries that looked like they were out of a frozen appetizer box. Our server was friendly and attentive, but host staff were not. When my friend checked in, the hostess told her we d be seated shortly and we were ignored for 10-15 minutes while we stood crowded in the small entrance area. Overall, I m not mad I went, but I will be seeking other Christmas bars instead of this one in the future.

Where do I begin. The decor downstairs was beautiful but the second you walk upstairs for dining, the decor completely falls off. The food was absolutely underwhelming. I paid a ridiculous amount for okay calamari and okay chicken souvlaki. We received about 8-10 pieces of calamari for $18 which is ridiculous. The worst part is, I complained about their blitzen berries cocktail and our sever Julia did nothing to resolve the issue. What kind of restaurant doesn t comp you for a drink you didn t drink?!! Would never recommend.

Went with a group of friends in the hopes of making it to the pop-up Christmas bar I seen all over social media. after checking the website several weeks before our plan outing, I did see that there were limited reservations available, and mostly accepting walk-ins. Fine, I thought we would go early and lineup. We lined up in the freezing cold in an alley with the restaurant occasionally coming out yelling asking who has reservations and ignoring those who are in line. my friends and I waited in the frigid cold for over an hour before we got to the front, only to be greeted by a bouncer on a power trip. We were then told that the line was only for the bar and they were at capacity. Just after getting inside, we had no choice, but to leave, a few of my friends had to leave as they commuted from the suburbs just for this. We were cold, hungry, and did not even get to see the inside. Highly disappointed, I just hope that after this Christmas surge that The restaurant gets off their high horse and starts actually catering to their customers. I understand that it s a busy time but to not accept reservations and have people wait outside with no further instruction on what we were even waiting for will not be forgotten.

The place itself is amazing so cool to go and experience and eat there for Christmas time with a big group. Although I went there with my boyfriend and we orderd the shareables on the menu which sounds like it s a good portion considering it says share. We got the jalapeño shrimp it was three pieces of shrimp.. $20!! For three pieces. If you are a large group the shareable is probably not a good choice. Other then that the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was great

I would only come here for drinks and atmosphere. The food is not worth it - small portions & very salty. I ordered the beef souvlaki & they brought my plate with a very visible empty space on 1/4 of it - and then realized they missed the tzatziki and brought it in a cup. It was quite busy, but my drink was also not correct the first time around. Great Christmas decorations, but make sure to make a reservation.

We went to Aleria as soon as it opened as a Christmas Bar/Restaurant and we were so impressed. Imagine a Christmas bar where you can have dinner! The display was beautiful I love flaming saganaki! Went for the christmas decor and holiday drinks, the interior is pretty but service is quite off. At the first the server didnt get me the drink in christmas mug as she was stating that they got too many orders while i asked her to double check with the bartender first before serving. So i asked her to remake one and she seemed reluctant and said will bring me the manager right away without apology. srsly?! and even the remade drink didnt come in xmas tree mug....later as it came to closing hour, a guy came to us and asked us to leave with a poker face...why?! they reallt dont want people to come back right Plus the food is really overpriced and taste just alright, the calamari def not worth $20.

Had a reservation for 5 people, we were told to wait for 20 minutes until they put us in a small booth meant for 4. We were crammed and uncomfortable. Thankfully the drinks did not disappoint.

We were late for 8 mins. They refused to let us have a table because its passed 5 mins grace period, which was not mentioned while booking the table. We were kicked out by them without courtesy. The host has a rude and unprofessional attitude. I highly doubt if they have the ability to provide good service given its an extremely hectic and overwhelming place.

My friend and I visited on Wednesday, December 5, 2024, and had a spectacular time! Our server, Camilla, was incredibly sweet, and the food was absolutely delicious. The only suggestion I have is to offer more options during happy hour.

Visited Aleria s Christmas Bar on the evening of December 5th. We walked in around 7:30pm and were quickly accommodated by the host team. We were a group of 5 but we squeezed into a 4 person table. The drinks were expensive but as expected, I had the Christmas smores cocktail and it was delish! My issue is with the service. AFTER our server took our second order of drinks, she told us we had used up the majority of our 1.5 hour seating time limit and would need to leave soon. This was never explained to us prior to sitting and the restaurant was filled with open tables, so I am unsure why we would be rushed out if we were continuing to order. Regardless, we accepted this and all got our bills. Upon receiving our bills, the server took our payments right away, watching us all individually tip 18%-20%, and it was only after she walked away that we noticed there was an 18% auto gratuity added to our cheques (so we tipped twice!). I ve never heard of an auto gratuity for a table of 5, in my experience auto gratuity is reserved for tables of 6 or more, and it should definitely be communicated prior to receiving the bill but I digress. I called her back over once we noticed this and her excuse was Sorry, you are sat at a 4 top so I forgot to mention the auto gratuity ??? Like what does that even mean?? The manager came over and refunded us the extra tip, but over all our server left a bad taste in our mouths and for that reason I would never return. I wish I got her name so I could add this to the review.

The atmosphere and the food both were really good, the service was a little slow and we were waiting a while but once we spoke with the server they got us our food right away!

Waited in line for an hour. No staff came out to manage the line or even give estimates on table or entry wait time. When they did come out we were greeted rudely by a staff member and told not to open or enter the door and to get in line. As if we hadnt done that already. When we finally got in, is when we were told there was a 2hr wait for a table if we wanted food. We were allowed in the bar area no chairs, and could only order appetizers. They need to better communicate with customers, and figure out a better solution to manage high crowds, and the outside line. Its too cold outside for people to be standing outside for long periods of time misinformed.

Wow, just wow! This place is absolutely incredible. The Christmas decorations were truly magical every detail was out of this world and set the perfect holiday vibe. To top it all off, Camilla was an absolute gem hands down the most amazing server. Her kindness and attentiveness made our experience unforgettable. We loved everything about this place and can t wait to come back. And thank you to the front door security taking our photo on arrival - his second career is photographer!

Would recommend for drinks only! For a festive moment with friends for a cute drink, the Christmas pop up decor is very cute and the atmosphere is unique. However the food is really really low quality. Felt store bought and it was served in dollarama plates (I have them). We had 4-5 servers - some of them were okay and others did not want to be here /so service was hit and miss. Food was not worth it and the price tag definitely was misaligned.

I called the place asking if they would accept a walk in. The guy on the line told me it s no problem as they would have a lot of cancelations. Fast forward when I got to the place, the security plane out declined to even ask any questions and said if you don t have a reservation then it s a no go to even enter. Worse experience ever as I travelled all the way from Oshawa to see his place

Positive: the place is amazing, with beautiful Christmas decorations, delicious food, and drinks. The service was excellent, specifically Turley, who was very friendly and attentive. Negative: the space is quite small and we felt cramped due to the tables being placed very close together. The reservation process is complicated. One of the waiters bumped into me while I was quickly taking a picture. It was difficult to take photos because the staff and other guests were constantly moving around, making it feel overcrowded.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The waiter was extremely rude and seemed completely uninterested in providing good service. To make matters worse, they didn t even bring us plates, which was both inconvenient and unprofessional. On top of that, the drinks were outrageously overpriced and definitely not worth the cost. Overall, it was a highly disappointing experience, and I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone.

My experience was disappointing due to the lack of hospitality from the staff. Eleanor (name on receipt) was our server. While the host was friendly, the rest of the employees were unwelcoming and seemed uninterested in providing a good experience. We were asked by the hostess if we wanted the food menu. Yes please. We were sat. The next person to approach us told us the kitchen was closed. We ordered drinks. I said thank you the server just stared at me. No response. We were then approach by someone else who asked us for our food order. We told her, we just informed the kitchen was closed. She rudely replied do you want anything from the kitchen? and we told her we didn t look at them menu because we were just informed the kitchen was closed .. She walked away. Another server approached us to drop our drinks. We were never informed when last call was for drinks, out of nowhere, we were presented with the bill and payment machine with no explanation, leaving us confused and caught off guard. Overall, the service felt impersonal and left a negative impression. Nobody wanted us there, and no one said hello. Or thank you. Extremely rude service - I m disappointed because I referred Aleria to friends I brought from out of town. We came for a girls night out early Christmas celebrations the staff was not friendly or inviting. I m embarrassed for bringing my friends here.

The best thing about this place was the coat hanging service cause the female Asian bartender was the most grumpy, rude human ever. Made us wait for 15 mins to take our order while we sat at the bar, complained about doing her job and couldn t break a smile. We all have bad days but boy, I ve not seen worse. Also, hands down the worst cocktail I ve ever had, smores on the rocks . They have got it clearly all wrong.

An evening that started out just fine and finished on a bitter note. Unfortunately we will never be going back here again and will have to deliberately tell friends and family to avoid the place. I hate to leave a negative review but you can be sure that this is well deserved. Food was good. Ambiance was good. Drinks were good. Staff were unacceptable: not only did the server choose to get offended at a totally innocent question, but the bouncer saw it fit to square up to our table and threaten us; my partner felt genuinely scared for her safety. I ll just leave it at that because we were appalled.

Put my name down on the waitlist and was told it would be 2hrs. About an hour in I stopped moving on the list. By the two hour mark I checked in with the bouncer and they said the line takes priority over the waitlist (even though there was no line when I put my name down). Weird operation, they don t seem to know what they re doing. I got the message saying my table was ready about 5 hours after I put my name down.

Came here to celebrate mine and my girlfriends birthday with our husbands. When we walked in I was completely bedazzled and in awe at the Christmas decorations I felt like a little kid again on Christmas it was gorgeously decorated to say the least. However, the service we received was unacceptable in my opinion. Midway during our dinner we were asked to move tables which was a bit rude since they could have waited a bit for us to finish and then move us but we liked out hostess so far so we wanted to help make her night easier. When we moved tables, they took our food away that we had not finished yet including our prime rib dinner. When we asked the where our food was she was like oh we thought you were finished to which we said no there was still half of it on the plate! She came back and offered us a carrot cake to compensate to which we chuckled because we thought that was mediocre to say the least they should have offered a replacement since we were already interrupted with our dinner. So after waiting to see if this was possible she returned and said okay. However it took 30 min at least to get our food but we were having lots of drinks in meantime. We told the waitress we were celebrating a birthday they brought out their sign and we sang happy birthday. When we asked for dessert, the waitress told us some options like carrot cake. Then she came back and said they have run out of dessert meanwhile other tables were having desserts delivered to the tables. Then she leaned over and told us that the hostess was saying we have exceeded our time limit and must leave. I was appalled by this and needless to say after spending $450 on dinner and drinks we were literally wanted out! Absolutely ridiculous and left such a bad taste in my mouth I have never been treated like that in my life at a restaurant and wont be coming back just for this reason regardless of how pretty this place we decorated! Unacceptable!

Terrible drinks, sent them back. We were told by the manager there was a no return policy. After working in hospitality in the downtown core for almost 15 years I was shocked to hear that. Wheres the hospitality? No offer to change the drink or offer a solution. Just took full drinks off the table and was made to pay for them when the bill arrived. Very strange place you re running here Also had another person in the group write a review but it s now missing? I don t know if you guys are somehow creating fraudulent google reviews to boost your rating but it s extremely suspicious.

Such a vibe!! A friend and I took our chances and went on a Friday night without making reservations, and managed to get a spot by the bar. We had such a great time that we had to use the app and book resos to come try the food next time. And let me tell you, they arent kidding when they say theyve decked out the whole place--- literally everything is decorated and looks like youre walking into a Christmas wonderland! Def check it out, and I highly recommend booking a table if you want a more relaxed sit down vibe vs drinks at the bar. PS, arrive early before 9 if you want to avoid a crazy line up to get inside!

Mainly reserved a spot here to check out the holiday ambiance, food was mediocre. Nothing particularly special about the actual food they serve. Had reservations, wasn t greeted at the door until 5 minutes in. I was told someone would seat me but hostess overlooked me & seated everyone with/without reservations that arrived after me until I followed up again. Terrible service, but the Christmas decorations made up for it.

A group of us went here last night. Initially when we showed up we were told they were fully booked for the night and so we went elsewhere. But we decided to come back after a few hours of bar hopping and we were able to get some seats. The vibe in there was so cool. The live DJ, the floral decor and the amazing staff were great to start with. We then had some really amazing drinks, and the Beauty and the Beast had great presentations. The manager (Emmanuel) was also taking care of us and was really amazing. He is so kind and positive and was great to have helping us! Definitely worth going here.

We went there for some tapas last night for a girlfriends birthday. When we first walked in it looked really small but then we walked through the magic door into the dining area and wow! Its so beautiful! The atmosphere is so hip, relaxed and beautiful. The music was just the right volume too. Our server, Ana, is top notch. She was so friendly and her suggestions were spot on. We didnt feel like we were being rushed, we were comfortable and felt like we could stay the whole night. We also met the manager, Emanuel, who is a sweetheart. He surprised our friend with a slice of birthdays cake and a board with happy birthday on it. I tried the Beauty cocktail, which was soooo good, I highly recommend it. Also, the olives and feta and the grilled calamari were perfection! We also shared the dip platter, which there was no leftover (Ana even brought us more pita to finish the dips). We definitely hope to come back soon. Dont miss this place, its well worth it.

Walked in to find an amazing Christmas theme! So beautiful! We came in for drinks and were met with a very warm welcome from management. As we walked to our table we were so impressed by the amazing multi levelled Christmas wonderland. Our sever Ximena was delightful and was very attentive. Our cocktails were very good. Ximena surprised us with complimentary spinach bites that were delicious. We will definitely be back for dinner ! Make sure to come and enjoy the Christmas spirit !!!

We enjoyed the happy hour perks (4-6p) of DELICIOUS food and cocktails under the twinkling holiday lights and decor. Our server, Shawn, took SUCH great care of us. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and generous! There sister restaurant (Papi Chulos) will be the next spot we hit up for their holiday pop up! Thank you to the Aleria crew!

Not only was the food ABSOULETY delicious but the servers and workers Sean and Ximena were such an amazing part of our experience. They made my partners birthday sucha magical moment. I highly recommend booking Aleria for private dining events. I recently hosted my birthday dinner here and was so impressed with the venue! The manager Emmanuel, our server Yirlay and the rest of the staff were welcoming, accommodating and kind. The event coordinator, Elena, was patient and always available as I planned the event. And of course, everyone enjoyed the food and drinks.

Disappointed in this dining experience. Booked a standard seating for a table and got placed in the private dining room with a bunch of other tables. It s in the basement with no cell reception. Drinks took nearly 30 minutes and were overpriced for the size of them. They also changed their happy hour from 5-7 to 4-6 and menu items have changed from prior Google review images. If booking for the holidays, make sure you request bar or high top. The basement was basically a dungeon and extremely disappointing experience.

Great experience. The Christmas decor is what drew us in and the delicious yet affordable food and great staff is what made us stay. Our server Camilla was attentive but not overbearing, she helped fix our wobbly table and had a great sense of humour.

I have been trying to make reservations for 7 to 8 people at this place. I talked to one gentlemen (Who was very nice) yesterday and I explained that 7-8 of my friends would like to do our little Christmas dinner there but open table would not allow us to book that far in advance and if they could please book us in because I know they book up fast. He asked if I could please send them an email and let them know and they will let me know if it is possible. I then emailed in and spoke to someone else and she let me know it could be possible but only with a set menu. I asked if we could just order our own food off their menu as some people in my group of friends have food allergies restrictions. She said she could not accommodate. I asked them to call me because maybe there was miscommunication between us. Elena then called me I explained everything to her on the phone and she mentioned to me they can accommodate with the food restrictions but it would still have to be a set menu. I said okay no problem that is great. I asked if she could book us in and she said if available just to email in and they will let us know (Keep in mind she was very rude on the phone with attitude and talking down to me) I kept my cool and proceeded to email her after my friends said lets just go somewhere else if the staff of this place is going to be rude. I said no no lets go there. All of this for her to respond to my email now that was sent to her at 1:48 PM today saying they could not accommodate. Really? But its okay we booked somewhere else and will make sure we never recommend this place to anyone!! And just like you see this place on social media for all the good stuff...Well you will be seeing this on social media as well!! It does not cost anything to be nice!!

I just want to clarify that I was not rude and was simply asking questions as every restaurant does things differently. After writing my review I get this email from them. Please see attached! So childish! This is not being rude? I think otherwise! Oh man they do not know how to treat people! You are in customer service and you are not giving that at all!!! She also writes another email saying they get many inquires and emails each day? Is that you saying you were frustrated when speaking with me? You aren t the only one to get many emails in a day. That s also not an excuse for being rude! Are you saying I don t understand what it s like to get 300 emails a day? Because I also get lots of emails but I do not have attitude with people because of it.

Came here on Friday when they opened and easily got a table at 5pm, not too busy yet but Im sure itll fill up in no time with holidays coming up. The restaurant is decorated floor to ceiling in each of their rooms including on the way downstairs to the bathroom. My girlfriend was very excited to come here for drinks with the Christmas decorations just to be disappointed. Walked in stood at the bar waiting for a drink for over 20 minutes once two ladies stood up to leave me and my girlfriend took their stools and sat down continuing to wait for service and the staff came and told us they need the seats so we d need to get up and stand. Decorations were nice though. Won t go ever back and don t recommend anyone else to go

Decided to hit this place up for their Holiday Pop-up and was super excited to see what the vibe would be! Upon arrival things were looking great, we did have to wait a while because it was rather busy and we didn t have a reservation. Fortunately I was in good company so that was the least of my problems that night. The issue really came from the moment we were seated. To put it plainly, we were so undeniably forgotten it almost became humorous. Tables sat long after us were served almost to completion before we even got our drinks. Then came the most painful part of the night, when we placed our order. My friend who is vegan and unable to consume dairy confirmed with the server prior to placing her order is the drink i m about to order dairy free? the server lazily replied with i m pretty sure which honestly is just negligent. It s completely fine not to know, but if someone tells you their dietary restrictions as a server you should make sure your response is 100% accurate. Then the drinks arrived, and we come to find out the drink my vegan friend ordered had dairy in it. What came next - an absolute circus it took us 25-30 minutes to get a server to actually even notice us. We would call out to them and we were so sadly ignored. Then finally, when it came time to present the problem, we were met with indifference and a lack of empathy. It almost felt like we were being blamed for our mistake. Another issue of the night was it felt like we were being juggled between multiple servers and every single time we had to fill someone in on the story. We began to wonder, is anyone communicating or does anyone even know what is going on. My friend attempted once the confusion was finally cleared up (spoiler alert it wasn t) to to place another drink order to which they said they noted. Another 30 minutes passed by and still no drink. It was just incredibly disappointing as you can imagine especially when you re looking to have a great night out with your friends. Finally we got so fed up with waiting that we decided to ask for the bill. And as you guessed it we waited another 35 minutes to get the bill. Once the server came over to cash us out, we had to remind her to remove the drink my vegan friend did not touch. Which was also frustrating because we had already been through this when we initially explained what was wrong with it in the first place. Annoyingly, she then said i have to go double check this with my manager we wait another 30 minutes for the manager then when the manager FINALLY comes over, she has the audacity to say to my vegan friend, How did you know there was dairy in it Like are you actually for real.

1. Beet salad: good. Standard quality 2. Short rib: meat is very dry. Tasteless. Sauce is the only good thing to cover the taste up. Mashed potato is horrible too. Vegetable on the plate is not tasty 3. Service: horrible. We got seat in the middle. The service kept asking me to move my chair. If they don t have enough space there. Don t put a table there 4. Drink: fabulous. Taste good. Good presentation. The one I got is Santa something. It comes with the smoke.

Astonished by the horrible experience I had with a customer service rep this morning. I booked a reservation for 8 people over a week ago for the end of the month and the fine print read that for parties of 9 or more there is a $50 pre fixe menu . I received a text today with a completely different narrative (their OpenTable has been updated to this new minimum but when I booked this was not so). They first tried to gaslight me until I finally hit them with the receipts. Whatever happened to common decency? If a customer booked with you under conditions it is your job to uphold that. I have eaten here before but will unfortunately not be returning. And anyone reading - please never speak to your customers like this!

Today we visited your restaurant, we really liked the Christmas atmosphere! The staff is attentive and friendly! We went there for my husband s birthday celebration dinner with my toddler from Mississauga who was super excited after seeing the pictures only to be told we can t get a table as we didn t have a reservation!!No wait times mentioned ,no options given just told sorry which made my toddler burst into tears of disappointment and ruined the day!!!!Nowhere was it mentioned that you specifically need a reservation on the website or anywhere abd then the least that could be done was for my toddler( 2yro)to be indulged even for a hot chocolate with or without a table or maybe that we wait or comeback after a certain time was a horrible experience on a special day

We were initially drawn to Aleria by its beautiful decor, which gave us high expectations for a memorable experience. Unfortunately, we left feeling deeply disappointed due to several issues with both the service and the quality of the menu items. First, despite making a reservation, we were seated in the basement, where there was no cellular reception a detail that was never mentioned to us in advance. This made it difficult for us to stay connected, which was frustrating. Second, the drinks were overpriced for the small portions provided, which felt unreasonable and disappointing. Third, the service was subpar. Our server was not welcoming or attentive, which dampened the holiday atmosphere we were hoping for. To make matters worse, when it was time to settle the bill, the server tipped herself before handing us the payment machine, which we found highly inappropriate and questionable. We came here for a special holiday evening but left feeling let down. I hope these issues can be addressed to improve the experience for future guests.

Time to get in the holiday spirit with Aleria! This is the cutest must see Christmas pop up event in Toronto, perfect for a date night or a girls brunch. Family friendly and great food. Thank you so mu ch to the wonderful staff at Aleria for making our time one of a kind!

We went for Christmas pop up the first server was extremely rude. When I asked if the calamari comes with additional items she asked what do I mean? And gave a disgusted look, and looked at me like I was stupid.The salad for the main was brought first and the main dishes were brought after god knows after how long and the food was cold and disgusting. The last person to bring the bill was really nice and cheerful. We will not return as we felt humiliated.

We booked a reservation on open table for 5pm. We showed up at 5:08 pm. I checked in with the host and she said she didn t see my reservation. She keeps checking then proceeds to tell me that open table cancels all reservations if not here within 5 mins of the reservation. This is a weird policy that should be highlighted in booking because most restaurants offer ATLEAST a 15 min grace period. And within those 3 mins we were late i highly doubt our table was given away since no one was waiting when i got there. To that response I get its our busy season thats why we have such a strict grace period . And to that I have to say there are many open reservations on open table in fact i booked this reservation a week prior. So the host tells us to wait to the corner while she checks if there s a table. While we re waiting more people come in while being told that they were over 5 mins late so their table was given away. Which not sure who is getting these tables because in the 30 mins my friend and i were told to wait in the corner we did not get any tables that should have been free since 3 groups of people s tables were given away since they missed their res. Then we ask a worker on the status of our table that the host was checking on since she went to check and never updated us 30 mins later. And she says she will ask and never comes back to us. So then we ask the host again. And she says i dont know ill let you know when one is free which is frustrating because we paid for parking for a certain amount of time and can just go somewhere else if they cant accommodate. Then they said 5 mins one will be free since a table paid. We wait 10 mins and still nothing that we have to ask again. I probably had to talk to 5 different people give me name 10 times just to find out a status of a table being available. Finally we got a table and the service continues to be bad. I asked the server which drink came in the gingerbread mug and he said the smores one so i got that and then it came in a crhstimas mug. If he was unsure or it s random we should have been told that. Not only that, the drink was 90% ice, 5% marshallows and 5% actual beverage. Secondly, the server brought a second drink that we did not order and i told her this and she gave me a weird look and said ok?. Customer service and mannerism could be improved esp when we re already annoyed from the start. I ordered feta fries and they didnt fill the plate up meanwhile the table next to us also got the same thing but their whole plate was filled. My friend got a dinner plate (not pictured) which was not great. Overall the quality of the food was not delicious. When we were ready to pay we had to wait 15 minutes for the server to give us our bill. Not sure why but if there was an issue that should have been communicated. Overall i have nothing good to say about this place and will not be returning. The staff just kept justifying this poor experience with it s our busy season but again there are so many open reservations on open table and there are so many ppl missing reservations with the 30 mins we were standing there that there should have been available tables.

I went for the Christmas bar experience. The decor is 10/10, drinks: I will give them an 7 because although they are tasty, creative and $$, they didn t have all drinks in the menu in stock because of a busy night before. In the bar area the music is loud and trendy but you can still hold a convo. The apps are delicious.

Went for Christmas pop up just had 2 drinks and a few bites from appetizers and I almost paid 80 dls, splitting the bill. Super expensive especially when the food tastes like Costco frozen foods, and the drinks tasted awful too. The seasonal menu was too plain and small, definitely miracle bar was better. I feel robbed from the quality, taste and experience of this place. Don t recommend and not coming back. I hate giving low reviews but I just still can t believe how overpriced it is

Went for the Xmas experience. They were very unorganized and were over 20 minutes late to seat us for the reservation, which is fine things happen. We check in and are told to wait off to side, after waiting the 20 mins we called back to the host stand where we are asked why we are late..we explain to the host we are not late they have been us wait. There was confusion on an item and they food was not great. Brussel sprouts were black.

Not sure what kind of scam they are trying to run, but I had the same encounter as someone else. I booked a table for 8 and received a strange text message telling me I must do the pre-fixed menu for the group for $75. On open table, it says groups of 9+ do the pre fixed menu for $50. They said this is a glitch . Glitches don t change the numbers in a description. I then saw someone else leave a review that they experienced the same thing. When called out on it, they refused to explain and cancelled my reservation. EDIT: Unfortunately I cannot reply to the response from the owner. It is quite silly to suggest that a glitch caused two specific numbers in your restaurant description to change. I understand the purpose of a pre-fixed menu. This complaint is regarding you changing your price and group size after booking.

It s our first time in that restaurant but, sadly said that it s very bad experience. We came here from 1 and half hour drive for my child birthday. But it s new that they charge extra dollars for cake cutting fees never experienced that in any other place. Very disappointed. Never come here again.

We were so looking for going to this restaurant after browsing pictures of interior on net and seeing what is on menu. Unfortunatelly, apart from food that was fairly good nothing else worked. From the very first second we were shocked by extremely loud dance music. After asking nicely to reduce the level of it (in our room, more about it below) they said they could not, that they have an issue with sound system?!? If we were to go to dance club we would choose something else, but we just wanted to have nice dinner. Secondly - although booked in advance hoping well be sitting in that nicely decorated room on ground floor, we were taken to basement room (that we didnt even know it exsits). Basement room looks terribly blunt and boring. As if for some bussines meeting for financial district bigwigs. Waiters mixed several times who ordered what etc etc. Pity, we had high expectations

Walking down Queen West, the bouncer stopped us and asked if we wanted to go in for a drink. So we did. To our suprise the place was really cool, playing chill house music. Sat at the bar where the amazing bartender greeted us right away. I wasnt sure what I wanted, so I just told the bartender i wanted something slightly sweet but not to sweet. She killed it. To the point my friends started asking her for suggestions. Ended up being a really amazing place. Gonna go back to try the food.

Was here for my birthday with a party of 14 and everyone loved it! The host was very accommodating and understanding seeing as how alot of us were running late due to traffic. Sean (hope i spelt that correctly) was taking care of us once we sat down, and he was incredible to say the least, very patient, very respectful he definitely made the night that much better, as well as the rest of the staff! So thank you from all of us! And the food was so delicious! I 100% recommend they also took our cake that we brought for my birthday and they came out with an incredible birthday sign at the end that everyone loved especially myself. I had an absolutely amazing time at Aleria! From the moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be a special evening. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect mix of elegance and comfort. But what really made my night unforgettable was the incredible service from Ale, the bartender. She was, without a doubt, the coolest and nicest bartender I ve ever met. Ales friendly personality, along with her impressive cocktail-making skills, made the experience truly exceptional. She took the time to recommend drinks based on my preferences, and each one was crafted to perfection. If youre looking for a place with great vibes, delicious drinks, and outstanding service, Aleria is the spot to be. I cant wait to return and enjoy another evening with Ale and the rest of the amazing team!

I walked into this place at random and to be fair I only had a drink but I so glad that I did! The decor is so beautiful, the playlist was everything and I ended up getting the Beauty cocktail. Which looked so pretty I definitely will be back to try a food and for the vibes

Came by with a large party. We sat outside (patio) covered, it was absolutely beautiful, flower garlands and lights. The place was tight but we managed. Inside is equally beautiful, there are so many little details which really add to the ambiance of this restaurant. The dinner menu consisted of various seafood, chicken lamb and beef dishes. The group tried several items. The lamb was the most popular followed by the shrimp which were grilled to perfection. The least enjoyable was the chicken souvlaki, this was dry, the rice was also dried and hard. The drinks menu was refreshing, most enjoyed the beauty and beast. Few mocktail options as well. Our sever, Camilla was great, she managed the large group of order, bringing water and picking up all dishes effortlessly. The service was great! They have a great happy hour menu as well. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening. Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs leading into the restaurant.

We had the short rib, lamb chops, Shrimp, and Burrata and Chocolate cake for dessert. The food was excellent to say the least Sean was our server who provided excellent service. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Aleria for a great experience

My partner & I ended up here on a whim for dinner late Saturday night. The food was seriously great we had the arancini, honey jalapeño shrimp, and chicken souvlaki dinner. Everything was flavourful & cooked well. The only slight note is they got a rush when we got there and the server communicated and thanked us for our patience as it may affect service; which it did a bit. We were unable to get another drink as no one checked on us until we were basically done our mains & no checks besides when they were delivering food. The server was kind & food arrived quickly though! Overall, we plan to return because it was still a great experience & we feel it s likely service will be better next time.

Awesome place with terrific service and ambiance. We went before a concert on a weekday and the happy hour was great, the food was yummy, and the patio peaceful. We will be back!

Lisette(probably pronouncing it wrong), an amazing server who saved our night .we were super late customers, she made the decisions for us, the food choice was A1, and so were the drinks. The staff was very accommodating and cooperative. Peaceful and vibrant ambience. Great job team Aleria. :))

Very nice, cute, cozy place and staff were very accommodating. The only thing regarding food was portions that were on smaller size. Specially for shareable items. We expected a bit bigger portions and had to order few times,if staff could let us k ow about the size of the items or having options for a bigger portion and extra charge would have been lovely. Also tbe grilled octopus was bit overcooked and small in my opinion compared with previous experiences

This bar is a must for any trips I take down Queen West. The ambience is top tier, the bar staff are beyond friendly, and the drinks are delicious. Dj always picks great music and reads the room for the right vibe. A great spot to come alone, on a date, or with friends. All of my friends loved their food. (Burrata, anyone?) Highly recommend a stop here.

I was in a predicament. I had 10 people with me. I needed to find a place for my business partners wife s 40th birthday. This restaurant fit me with 10 minutes notice. Everybody had an amazing time. The food was incredible. The drinks were made perfectly and the ambiance was the perfect atmosphere for everyone to have a great time. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody. 10/10

The Saganaki (flaming cheese) is amazing. Great selection of wines and tequila. Had village salad, saganaki, saganaki poutine, beet root carpaccio, phyllo feta (amazing) and spanakopita. All was delicious, will go again! Staff is super friendly.

I cant believe the amount of disrespect my friends and I experienced. We decided to go to this place because the Poet Bar next door, known for its amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere, was full. As soon as we stepped in for drinks, the customer service was horrible. Every time we tried to sit somewhere, a staff member, whose role was unclear, would give us a hard time about it. We ordered our drinks and tried to have a chill night with friends. When we finished and were ready to leave, we chose not to tip due to the poor behavior of the staff member. However, when one of us selected no tip on the machine, he manually added an 18% tip to all our bills. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional, as tipping is optional and shouldnt be forced on customers. We will definitely be following up on this, as it was a very bad experience for us.

Great food. We got the calamari, poutine and strawberry lychee Mohito. All very good. Camilla was great, so kind, so knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely come back. The space is also very nice.

Booked the basement room for my 30th birthday with about 15-20 people. Owners extremely nice and easy going! Camila made sure our group and I had everything we needed. She was very accommodating and made my birthday a great experience! Food was great. The entire place is beautiful and chill vibes! Would come again to host another event!

Food and drinks were very yummy, especially the Saganaki! Though, if you re looking for a patio, this is not entirely the best place for it. The patio is basically the side alley which has been refinished, though you ll likely be sharing a table with other as there is approx 3 tables. Otherwise, would return for the food and the interior decor is lovely

We dropped by on a Saturday for dinner. Service was great but food was mediocre at best. Not a single dish stand out. The short rib was super dry and sauce was too sweet Chicken and lamb was kind of bland, definitely need more seasoning. Food was 6/10 Sevice was 10/10 Its a one and done

Amazing atmosphere, very attentive and friendly service, delicious Mediterranean food. We had the fried cheese, calamari, dip platter, brussel Caesar salad and all were 10/10.

Food and atmosphere was good. However, wait staff was not explicit in letting us know that a tip was already included in bill. It is conveniently easy here to double tip unintentionally because bill is provided electronically (but then printed after payment). You will need to be mindful here to ask about tip.
