1233 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M6K 1L5, Canada
This place is a 5 star joint after the bars. If you go before the bars, it is maybe a 3 or 4 star joint. They are very kind and generous here. I will see you after the bars, Alexander's.
Got some quick take out. It was late so that's a big bonus for me. I got a falafel wrap and a tabouleh salad. I would've gotten some potatoes but they looked really dry. When I decided on the tabouleh it came in a container than seemed somewhat small - for $6.00! I got it regardless. I asked to make sure the sauce was on it. The cashier/server said yes and rang me out. I got home, the salad was dry. Nothing on it. What saves the day/night is the falafel wrap. It was SO delicious. Wrapped perfectly so it wasn't messy. Fillings were as you asked. And very filling! I couldn't finish it!! Bonus leftovers♡♡. Stick with wraps. Late night wraps and you are good to go!!!
Good food, friendly service, reasonable price - lower than other neighborhood spots. I always have the chicken shawarma so can't say much about other items. The staff add nice touches like grilling onions. It's my go-to shawarma spot.
I ordered the garlic potatoes and a shawarma wrap. The garlic potatoes were so stale, old and nasty, I feel like I was tasting 3 days old potato. The shawarma wrap was equally awful, and not worth the price. I would avoid this place.
This is a nice place to get baklava. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious and it’s a great spot for late night. You can’t go wrong with the food here around this time a night during your late night out.
Place is a bit dingy but the food and the counters were clean. Had the Chicken and Lamb souvlaki and was really impressed for Toronto. Good portion, fresh meat and salad.
Food is great, service is friendly and nice. The first time I had shawarma wrap, it was very tasty, so I went there again and the second time was nice too but had too much pickle in it so it made it too sour for me :). But overall good place. Tarik is friendly and nice he added some extra chicken pieces for me. Thank you Tarik !
I hadn't been in a couple of years so was pleasantly surprised when I grabbed a shawarma to find the same great food and lovely service as I remember. . He double checked my order and made sure it was extra spicy. Value-for-money it's great too.
Delicious shawarma wrap and the staff were nice
The best late night food in the area.
Honestly its absolutely delicious. It seems very busy and fresh. Definitely a winner
Great place. Awesome Chicken Shwarma! Food
Worse place I ever been the food is disgusting he just re-heats things and charge so much for that lile restaurant price I wouldnt be surprised if I would get food poisoned
Poor customer service and awful food. Never going again
Very impatient staff, not a pleasant experience. Food meh, place not clean. Wont be back
Legends
The falafel wrap and veggies samosa were delicious and delivered extremely well! Food was conscientiously packaged. Vegetarian options: Great falafels, really nice balance of spices.
I went to the restaurant which is called Alexander falafel, I ve found this shawarma place in city is best , their service was best, specially Mr shahjahan and Akash did a very nice job they re really very nice to everyone,as I see they try their best to give satisfaction their customer, I will recommend this restaurant in Toronto city , address 1233queen st west..
Very good quality and the pricing is not bad. I got a free fries too! Very nice old man named Babel served me. Would come again
Was going to buy 3 orders of chicken plate but when I saw his throwing the rice and the garlic potatoes into the microwave, changed my mind to junior chicken
Just try it once and you will NEVER repeat it again!!! Falafel is very bad and not related to Alexandria or any other place in egypt, in spite of that it is sooo expensive I dont know for what.!!!
Careful if you order the Garlic Potato with Garlic Mayo on Ritual. A medium costs 15.98$ instead of 6.99$, more than twice the price. I told them about the mistake on their menu, but over two weeks later, its still there.
Best shawarma I had in a long time!!!! The long hair guy is very sweet
I tried Falafel Wrap, and then I came back to try veggie samosas and Baklava. I don t regret it.
Worst food I think I ve genuinely ever had. Went after a long day and bought the chicken and gyro poutine. Tasted worse than dog food.
Excellent quality and presentation. Great platters.
Friendly, Fast, Affordable
Perfect late night food after drinks. Had the best drunk shawarma of my life just now. The staff cleared my table on a busy night to make space for my girlfriend and I, and delivered us our food hot off the grill in like 2 minutes. It s the epitome of late night toronto shawarma if you ask me.
Great late-night comfort food
Great food and place to eat!! Shahjahan and jabon are great cooks and great people! Me and my friends had a good time and we would like to thank Shahjahan and Jabon for their great service!
Lovely samosa and very friendly service!!!
People are some what irrational called to try to solve the issue and they could not even help...
I went to that place and ordered falafel wrap which was ok NOT wow. I asked about the mango home made juice they have, he said it s from real fruit but it is NOT. It s nectar mango juice that you can get from any store for $3 a bottle. They charge me $3.5 for a small plastic cup. I don t RECOMMEND that place.
Ok at best Half decent drunk food, but nothing to write home about. Friendly staff however, I ll give them that.
Very good, well priced, friendly staff
I want to love it but .the food is not great. Chicken is dry/over cooked and not exactly plentiful. Go somewhere else.
Decent food but it could do with a clean up. My son wanted a shawarma but I m not sure I d eat there due to it s visible dinginess. Having said that he did NOT fall sick! And he liked the food . Their garlic sauce , I was told, was great
Jerk Chicken for the win.
Hardly any toppings. Basically filled with lettuce. Lame sauces. This was a tasteless falafel that was pricy. Dont waste your money here
I tried my luck and ordered a chicken shawarma plate via Uber eats and I was so impressed with the taste and authenticity of this dish. I ve ordered three time since.
As a delivery person, every pickup I have here is a ridiculous hassle. Never have orders ready. Always complain that somebody has taken the order and then waste delivery persons time getting them to call Uber and to call the customer and then proceeds to not make the order as well. Like you just wasted 10 minutes of my time and I got paid $0 for that. Thank you very much. Its an awful way to treat people
Food delicious, kind service
Never ever been in a place where the friendliness was incredible .food was delicious
Just eat here. Easy. Fast. Delicious. Dont even think. Eat it. EAT. Its so frigging good!!
Must visit this place for shawarma. Very well attended by Jeevan, extremely decent and helpful guy.. finding yourself hungry.. try it.. value for money. Keep it up guys!
horrible wraps
Staff knows my order when they see me walk in the door. Quick & friendly service, with a well-stocked fridge. Once witnessed them handle a very rude customer with high ethics & respect.
Friendly staff. I love that they add humus to their sandwiches!
Great Shawerma, definitely recommend
Friendly guy
When Alexandria hits, it hits. Very good falafel when made to order (they usually are). Chicken shawarma are excellent if you hit it when the spit is golden brown. Chuffy poutine type offerings hit the spot at 3am.
Yeeeeears ago i had a drunken shawarma from this place. Fell in love!!! BUT Forgot where it is. 2 years ago I drove by it and had to immediately U-turn. I found it! The best shawarma of life Today, its still #1!! Fish and samosas are also yuuuuuuuummmmm! Great job guys!! Thank you!
Falafel was very very dry, without any taste, without herbs... From the place with a Falafel in the name I expected much more. Disappointed.
Falafel plate is Awful Falafel is probably frozen, no taste no greens. Rice was undercooked couldn t finish! Had to throw Spend your $14-$15 to a authentic Mediterranean restaurant not here
A neighborhood staple, they have delicious shawarma wrap combos make sure you get the garlic sauce on the side for your fries its really good. The baklava and samosas are also tasty, I havent tried the platters but maybe one day I will.
I had a to go order for my Falafel.(5 Pcs) They use frozen Falafel. The taste , texture and Color of it looks and tastes very different . I just could eat 1 pc. I would not recommend this place if you want to eat falafels.
Fish shawarma wrap was put of this world. Got it on the way home from the bar, went back the next day to get it again.
Definitely healthy inspection should check it out there.
Store worker was very kind and gave me a smoke and a drink of water while I was lost downtown. Truly a great person and a business that deserve your support.
Very friendly staff and decent food.
The employees at this restaurant treated me amazing I ordered a jerk chicken leg and rice and they made it beautiful. Give them a raise.
The food is so bad.. I dont like the taste.. is like frozen food for long time... They dont have to much things to put in your wraps, the sauces they are so simple and still charge for extra and they put Lees that you want, and the cashiers they are not friendly... Bad actitud and always charge a extra dollar for a little bit of any ingredient more... So always you paid more that the Normal Price!. And no is a good Food.. Alibabas they never charge extra and they ask for anything else if you want!.. for that reason is the best !. I dont recommend this place!
I barely ever write reviews, but the shawarma wrap I got here was so outrageously bad I feel like I have to let people know. Bland, tasteless, the meat (mix of beef and pork) was stale, and they didn t put any garlic mayo or hummus-although I requested both. How hard is it to screw up the shawarma? Well, they mastered the craft of screwing it up. The worst meal in years. Couldn t finish.
A fantastic place and oddly enough their name reminds me of Hamilton the musical a lot. Their shawarma and fries in particular are amazing.
I got smelling Rice probably it s cold and I saw him he put it in microwave that s coward and not recommend not healthy not trusty be careful people for this place .
Delicious falafel wrap!!
its a good place food is also good and its nice and clean
Nice little restaurant
very bad falafel like rocks
Really great chicken shawarma, has become a go to dinner for us once a week
Tried and true. Great food, super friendly staff, decent portions.
Best Falafel pita Ive ever had. Im from Hamilton but every time I am in Toronto I am going to make a point to come here! The staff was super friendly and the prices were great!
This plate is filling and it is delicious. So many flavours and it will fill your belly for sure. I would recommend this to anyone who likes shawarma. Really good place!
Chicken Shawarma is good. Value for money. They some times mess up orders placed through Ritual (App) but it doesnt take them long to prepare food.
Delicious. Ordered the chicken shwarama platter late night and was not disappointed!
Great food and friendly staff
My favorite shawarma shop! Such warm and friendly staff and the food is delicious . Highly recommend!!
It was my first time having a shawarma here and I had such a great experience! I believe the man who served me was named Balel and he was so kind and courteous. My meal was amazing and I will definitely come back again. Balel deserves a promotion!
Delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly service.
I used to frequent this place Saturday nights after the bar. I was grateful that it was open late and that the staff were pleasant and willing to deal with the drunkards. Notably, shawarma is cheap and Im happy these guys keep it standard with the prices. Id usually get a combo which was a bit over $10 but it gave you a wrap, fries, and a drink. Not too bad. Went back recently after having not been there for a couple years and I was happy to see the same people serving up the same quality shawarma (although I got falafel this time.) Taking a bite out of that wrap unlocked a bunch of memories and good food would do that for you. Dont skip it. Its a great place.
not so good. hygiene of hands and cleaning clothes not maintained
The owner is awesome and so bubbly. Also they give you a lot of food! I recommend the chicken shawarma.
Fantastic food, especially the fish platter! Can t recommend enough and always the friendliest service. 6/5 stars
Shawarma is delicious
Best falafel in Toronto, fresh vegetable toppings, great prices and great location. Its been one of my favs for over ten years.
I go here for their gyro and it is excellent!
Been here years ago, so good I remember!
Ordered a falafel wrap, bit into chicken. Sorry guys that only has to happen once to keep me away, work on your fundamentals please.
Babel! Made me the best Hands down sharawma ever. Fresh made samosas. Going back for more ! With out a doubt
Friendly, fast service!
Had the lamb souvlaki plate and I would say the meat was definitely the highlight of the dish. Good grilled meat, vegetables made it better, and definitely fresh. The rice and sides were so so and if they were more/better then I would give a 5. Otherwise its an ok hole in the wall place.
A very warm welcome and a very appreciated meal. Especially since all the other restaurants were closed, it was truly a comfort to our evening!
I Love this spot its open untill 3 or 4 every night and you get about 4 pounds of food for 10 bucks .....just be careful on the hot sauce if your not into spice ....also I would recommend the chicken plate on fries ex garlic sauce its my jam for a late night pre emptive hangover cure hahhaha
Yummy and delicious food!!!!!
We just order from there and its DELICIOUS really really good falafels
Nice very nice chicken shawarma and chicken poutine was so tasty and they give nice quantity too quality and quantity both are good keep it up and the staff is also very friendly and prices are also good must visit and check the taste so good
Ive been looking for a shawarma place that I like and plan on ordering from on a regular basis. This is it. Better than most of the higher rates spots on uber eats and skip. Chicken shawarma plate was delicious. Nice flavor on the chicken. Good portions and great prices Highly recommend.
If you care about covid at all, DO NOT EAT here. I just walked out because I was disgusted by what I saw. First of all, the guy was not wearing a mask (which is fine, sure). But I watched him literally touch the DEBIT machine, not change his gloves, put his hand into the toppings, and roll my shawarma with his dirty hand. This is unacceptable, even if it was not a pandemic. But the fact this dude is out here touching debit terminals and then handling peoples food- I m sorry that s terrible. Does not look like the folks at that place have their food handling certificate. Common sense man, that s really gross, pandemic or not.
Great falafel.
One of the best falafels I ve had in Toronto ... if not the best and definitely very reasonable price. The gentleman who served me was nice and asked if I wanted to works ... which I love! Thanks I ll be back for more! This hit the spot, this location may not catch your eye at first but it s worth the stop
Great little spot. Not bad for a late night bite. Very affordable. Polite staff and everything. Certainly hope they stick around.
Very tasty falafel. fast and super clean shop. Happy chef in charge. Food tastes fresh and traditional. Thank you
Quick service, superb quantity, and well-made Middle Eastern food. Cant ask for anything more!
Excellent food here with a good variety of dishes. If you enjoy middle eastern cuisine, you will not he disappointed! Check it out
Love love love this shop! Love picking up a hot lunch from here! Great gyros wrap and always fresh! Try the baklava it so delicious! 6/5 to the staff!!!
Not recommended for vegetarians. Service was pretty ordinary. Falafel wrap was quite average. 2 stars because if you have Falafel in the name then you ought to be amongst the best in the whole city.
The chicken shawarma was amazing here, perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Great service aswell, I highly recommend this place.
Somewhat slow service worth the wait, perfect shawarma chicken and sauces if a bit messy to eat!
My husband and I ordered food from here through Doordash (they go by Alexander Falafel there. I don t normally speak for the meat dishes that I don t eat, but my husband s food was not cooked. It looked okay on the outside, but once a bite was taken it was chewy and bright pink. It was pink chicken in a chicken and lamb kabob plate. We had to fry up his meat portions just so he had an edible dinner. As for mine, (vegan) falafel platter, the flavours were good except the falafels were as hard as old timbits. My metal fork even had a tough time piercing through. It was almost like they got their cooking times off between his and my order. The veggies were fresh, the rice had lentils and beans, the hot sauce was flavourful, but the proteins were less than manageable.
Amazing food and good service!
Open late ,food is great
Always fresh and tasty, quick and easy
It was a fluke that I came by this place, it s a decent shawarma place with a very friendly man. His friendly nature makes me wanna come back again.
Wonderful people and great food. Definitely worth the trip
Terrible food. Everything is bland. Simply did not follow instructions, they put onion inside. Regret I paid for this. Avoid this place.
Chicken fries plate ftw and open late everyday
Juicy delicious falafels. Okay price and a good size sandwich. Will try something else next time as the menu looked very attractive. Quick service. Only problem was finding parking.
Great late night food here! We both had the chicken plate which was delicious.
Ordered a small poutine that showed it was $6.99 on their menu. I got charged more than $10. When I asked the cashier, the old man in the back in charge of preparing the food said pluzz tax, pluzz tax. The middle-aged guy working as the cashier crumpled up the receipt and put it in the register. I told him I would like to have the receipt. printer not working maam. I told him I would like to have the piece of paper he put in the register. He discreetly handed me back $2. The two had a short bicker in their language. The old man I assume was arguing with him about why he gave me back the $2, and the younger man whispering that I was on to them. The poutine was pretty nasty, he sprinkled it with yogurt instead of curd. The gravy was also disgusting and cold. Fries were luke-warm. Also no cheese. Im definitely never eating there again. Disgusting thieves, crooks, and liars making sub-par food.
The staff here is super nice! Thank you for the service!!
Shwarma is unreal here
Chicken was dry, the rice tasted like jerk, they have their store listed as %15 for employees at my work and they knew nothing about it I had to talk to the owner on the phone. Then they couldnt even calculate the right amount I had to do it for them.
Worst fried chicken leg I ever had. Asked for fried chicken and rice. Like 10 times. Then I got fried rice and French fries. The salad ms and tahini sauce were nice though.
Great blokes!
BEST late night eats EVER. Sweetest men ever!!
Very good place love it!!
Good food. Had better but wud hav more
Best shawarma in Parkdale.
Good food
Great Sunday deals, good taste, fair prices
We came across this place while feeling snackish. I had a chicken sandwich that was fairly delicious, and I was surprised and delighted by the side order of fries hot, crispy and not damp, the French fries of my childhood memories. Yum!
Decent shawerma place and falafel
My fried chicken didnt taste like anything and i think the guy was making up prices because my friend who ordered more food than me was originally charged less until we said something
Great food
Alexandria Felafel is one of my favorite shawarma/gyros joints in Toronto. Its all about meat, definitely not a place for vegetarians. And as one might expect, its the polar opposite of a health food joint. You can smell the delicious scent of grease the moment you walk through the door. But while the food might not be organic the joint certainly is. Its like a time capsule from back in the day before every other place was a sterile uninspiring chain restaurant. Highly recommended. The Lamb souvlaki is delicious, as are the gyros and shawarma. Never had the felafel here but if its as good as everything else Im sure youll love it...
I love the food from here. You arent eating here for the decor of the restaurant, but the food is as good as it gets. Excellent for late nights after the bar!
I was pretty hungry so a sandwich wasn t going to cut it. I asked the gentleman if there is a large and a small he said no, totally understandable. He offered me a shawarma plate instead so I decided to give it a try why not. Then I noticed he heats up the rice in the microwave then places it back in there, I wonder how many times this has happen today already. I was told the plate comes with everything so I asked for a pita and he tells me it s 75 cents for a shawarma place who charges for a pita this must be a joke!! Spend your money else where the food isn t even good.
A very unique take on the shawarma - with a desi twist!
Food here is sooo!! good. Had the jerk chicken plate and it was absolutely delicious. The gentleman that attend to me was wonderful, very pleasant through the whole ordering process. Thank you very much for your time and I will definitely be coming back for the great food and service.
Its delicious, however... they dont listen well when you choose your toppings and end up putting everything in it.
Great price, really good food, fast, and open late!
Wow, by far the worst food I ve ever had in my life! I ordered on skip the dishes, on the menu it says fresh falafel plate and even after putting in a request for fresh falafels, they came STALE! The food was so horribly packed that there were falafels falling out of the container, into the plastic bag! The food was so disgustingly put together that even my dog wouldn t eat it. Wow I don t know how you can name your restaurant after falafels when you make them so disgusting. Disgrace. Worst experience ever, will NEVER order your food again!
Some of the best shawarma Ive had in Toronto. Reasonably priced, delicious, and good service.
Love this place. Friendly staff has remembered my preferences for years.
Based on the ratings, I gave it a shot. Food was pretty bad for such rating. The chicken wasnt as good. The potatoes were too big, the sauces were kinda tasteless. Overall very oily and tasteless. Id skip
Good healthy food at a LOW price
My friend and I both had food poisoning from this restaurant.
Amazing customer service. Me and my boyfriend dropped by after a long hot summer day. I was quite surprised that we were very well taken care of. The two staff were very friendly and welcoming. They suggested their homemade mango juice, which was amazing. Not too sweet, just right for your tastebuds. They served us on our table unlike most shawarma places. The chicken shawarma was also really good. I was quite shocked. We came from Hamilton and we were very impressed. Its on par with Lulus Shawarma that we have in Hamilton.
Good people with great food to serve as you desire
Ok drunk food at best
Staff are very friendly and dish out big portions. The felafel and chicken shawarma are both delicious, and the potatoes that come with the plate option are great
It is okay and the food is great. You should definitely try it sometime!!
Yes it a good take out bite spot.
Great late night spot
I had a chicken shawarma here a few years ago it wasnt too memorable or good really and then ended up giving it another chance today, glad I did because it was amazing!
Good food!
Great food, even better people.
Low quantity, higher prices.
Rotten food. I took 2 bites and had to spit it out.
Tasty shawarma
Worst falafel ever is very bad...... . Staff was good....
Great Shawarma!
delicious, good portions, good price, fast -
Excellent food. Friendly staff. Definately try the garlic sauce. Its unmatched.
Food is decent, but customer service is lacking and all the prices displayed on their menu are wrong (and have been for some time). Overall I would say it s overpriced for what it is.
Best shawarma ever! Staff is really friendly!! There eggplants.. mm mm!
