An enchanting world where culinary creativity & imaginative design come together. Led by Chef Missy Hui, our two distinctive dining spaces showcase the endless possibilities and diverse influences of modern Canadian cuisine.
We went there for a date night on Saturday. The staff were attentive and courteous, the drinks were fun and delicious. We were honestly pleased with the vegetarian options available, we tried a variety of food and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Definitely look forward to trying the below ground experience next time !
Booked the below ground experience yesterday with my business partners and the ambiance and decor was absolutely stunning (even the above ground was very nicely put together). Service was very friendly, detailed, and professional with some personal flare here and there. The food was on a prix fixe and we ended up getting the wine pairings alongside the meals, the food was plated elegantly and we were told in detail about every component on every plate. The wine pairings were very “funky” (in a good way, forgot to take pictures) and contrasted the dishes beautifully, we also all got the “paper plane” cocktails and those were very nice aswell. Pricing is what you would expect from a higher end restaurant and definitely worth the experience at least once but for the average person this might deter you but I would absolutely recommend anybody to book here. Overall 4.9/5.0
Really enjoyed our girls night! The shared plates were perfect for us. Our favourite dish, hands down … the crispy potatoes! They were so good that we ordered another plate. Duck confit came in second. And deviled eggs third. Love the atmosphere as well, rather whimsical. And our server was great, friendly and attentive. If this restaurant was closer to me, I’d visit more often!
Perfect for a date night! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every detail—from the attentive service to the beautifully plated dishes and the staff’s deep knowledge of the menu—made the experience unforgettable. The tasting menu was worth every penny, offering bold and creative flavors that felt like a journey through land and sea. Definitely a must-try!
The perfect girls night out!! Our server was Nathan and he was an absolute GEM! He made us feel so comfortable, incredible attention to detail and created such a fun experience! The tasting menu is well worth the price for the service and all the interesting flavours they’ve created in this course. Definitely worth a try! My favourite dish was the Lobster for sure, and the Yukon gold potato!!!
and/ore was a fantastic experience. We had their below ground tasting menu. The pacing and portions for the menu were perfect and we left feeling full but not stuffed. Service, attention to detail, and ambience were all spot on. The cocktails are classic but with fun little twists (using cotton candy as a sweetener for an old fashioned). They also have a good selection of wines, both by the glass and bottles. Our server Lu was very helpful with answering questions and giving suggestions for wine/cocktail pairings. If you’re looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion, I wouldn’t hesitate to book a reservation here. Alternatively, their upstairs dining offers an a la carte menu selection.
Went here for a belated birthday dinner! Got seated upstairs and it was a cute little area with pastel walls and nice ambient lighting. We got the Chef's Picnic tasting menu with Strawberry Blossom as a dessert. Ended up being a lot more food than I thought, we were very full at the end. Everything was well portioned and tasted good. My favorite was the deviled eggs and crispy potatoes. I also got the signature Old Fashioned cocktail which came with cotton candy on top so that was really fun. Overall a good experience with good food and great service. Def recommend!
The interior is beautiful. Came here with a good friend and instead of doing the chefs menu, as a few of the dishes we wanted to try weren’t in it, we ordered a bunch of plates to share. Everything was delicious, however the menu felt limited. I would definitely look in advance if you have food restrictions. Best espresso martini - foam was just right. Although pricey each drink was made to perfection and visually all looked pretty. Especially liked the one with a cotton candy cloud that you can melt inside. Had the best time, we stayed well beyond our reservation but they had no problem letting us chill at the bar until we were done our drinks. Our waiter and the owner were very friendly.
Started out on the upper floor of the upstairs restaurant then, thanks to a last minute cancellation was able to move down to the cave and enjoy the tasting menu with the accompanying wines. One of the BEST meals I have had in the city. My partner, who has lived in Toronto since 2010, said it was the most inventive, original food he has had. Food aside, service was impeccable. All around fabulous dining experience. Will definitely be making another visit.
I recently had my wedding reception there. The food was fantastic, with delicious extras during picturetaking for the bride and groom. The service was impeccable. There was great attention to the details that make a wedding reception special (eg menus in multiple languages with pictures of the bride and groom for guests to keep). The restaurant is spectacular for photos. I would highly recommend the Below Ground space for a private event or just a wonderful dinner for two or for a group. Thanks to Missy, Abby, Ara, Georgia and everyone at And/ore for a truly special experience!
Set menu was arguably the best meal weve had in Toronto. One of the best weve anywhere. Excellent (and very consistent) courses. Excellent service. Only notes would be moving through courses a bit faster. Maybe enforcing their no flash rule too. Come here before they get their star and become impossible to book
Incredible experience. The service was impeccable, the food is delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and chic. Shout out to the incredible host team!
I enjoyed dinner here on Friday with my wife and 4 friends. We all tried the tasting menu with wine pairings, and it was an incredible experience. The food was presented immaculately, with a snappy detailed explanation for every portion and glass. The staff went above and beyond to make it a memorable evening, addressing our every question and request with enthusiasm. From the pre-dinner cocktail to the last nibble of dessert it was an absolute treat, delicious to the last drop and morsel. We dined in the below ground, and as much as Id love to try the above ground as well, it was certainly a unique enough design that Id be happy to be right back in that seat again when the opportunity presents itself.
We had our office holiday dinner at And/Ore (Above Ground), the food, atmosphere and service was amazing! A great place for a medium sized party (we were a group of 7). The picnic/tapas style menu was great, as we were able to try almost everything on their menu. Some highlights for us were the Duck Confit Hand Pies, Le Bon Secret, Fried Mozzarella, Burnt Cabbage, Crispy Potatoes, Salmon and the Lamb Ribs. Their cocktails/mocktails were also great, they were classic, but with a twist. Thank you And/Ore Team for a great experience!
We had just one night to dine in Toronto and and/ore was at the very top of my list. I had great expectations and they totally over delivered!!! We dined above and the room is absolutely stunning, the whimsical decor makes you feel like youve stepped into another world. So beautiful! Our server Andre was absolutely fabulous! We ordered about a dozen different dishes and she coursed them out perfectly she also made super helpful suggestions about how many of dish we should order and made really suggestions to help round out our selections. The wine list was beautifully curated and I was super excited to try a couple wines from producers who arent available in Alberta! And then the food!!! Every dish we tried was creative, delicious and well balanced, and each of us (5) had a different favourite. The duck confit hand pie dish being mine! I really hope I get the opportunity to dine again soon!
Andore for mine and my girls birthday celebrations on November 30th. What a majestic place with the most exquisite atmosphere! Nathan was our server. Special shout out to this lovely human, he is the most amazing at what he does. Super attentive to the details and all of us, making sure needs were met and MORE! He truly took the best care of us and is so appreciated. I am taking the time to leave this review because of him, truly. Food and drinks were decadent. Overall a great time and one to remember! A time was had at Andore. Thank You!
Doubt I ll come back, weird experience here. Made us wait 20 minutes in their awkward lobby for our reservation, drinks took forever and the washrooms were not properly cleaned. This place just has weird vibes, it s really nice in appearance but it s managed so badly that you should absolutely spend your night at one of the 100 other places that is way better than this restaurant. Forget about the good BlogTO paid advertising and go elsewhere.
Had an...honestly baffling experience here last night. Saw wonderful reviews online & in Toronto Life and figured And/Ore would be worth a shot. This restaurant is like a cargo cult version of fine dining. It seems like every aspect of the restaurant was designed by someone who had seen fine dining, but had never experienced it. The decor is wonderful in photos, but is cheap and incredibly tacky when viewed up close. The food is presented well, but every dish we ordered (8 total) was off, in a weird way, that made it impossible to enjoy. Some highlights were the unexpectedly sweet chili heat flavoured mozzarella sticks (also, this is a ridiculous menu item that was part of their set course picnic), the saddest charcuterie board Ive ever seen (which had clearly been sitting out, and wasnt really charcuterie), a flavourless, gummy potato pave that was doused in mayo, and a bizarre overabundance of kimchi. Every item was served at the incorrect temperature - hot items were cold, and cold items were room temperature. Service was fine. Cocktails were excellent!
Outstanding experience - recommend the devilled eggs and grilled shrimp in the upper level!
Came here to try their pre-fixed Chef s picnic. The food was delicious and they catered to an allergy for the table where we were able to substitute the seafood for a beef option. Some standouts for us were: the potato pave, the devilled eggs, the picanha steak with chimichurri and the fried cheese with gochujang and white kimchi. Had the espresso martini with the tequila, instead of vodka highly recommended! The service was absolutely fantastic. Nathan was our server and made sure we felt taken care of the entire night. The hospitality is none other. Dietary restrictions: They accommodated their pre-fixed menu to fit dietary restrictions.
Unprofessional and rude hostess, food portion is extremely small and overpriced, the taste is somewhat ok, the cocktail is not even properly mixed, dessert is great, but we waited an hour for our main course
I first came across And/Ore on Instagram, and the cave-like interior design immediately caught my attention it just looked so cool and different. So when I was invited to a client dinner there, I was excited for the opportunity to check it out. Unfortunately, we didn t get a table in the famous cave area downstairs, which was a little disappointing since that s part of what makes the place so cool. If you re planning to go, definitely try to snag a reservation for that space it s worth it for the vibe alone. Also, they conveniently offer complimentary coat check which was nice. For dinner, we opted for the Chef s Picnic a $65 per person selection of the chef s choice of snacks, small plates, and accompaniments like cheese and cured meats. The spread was impressive and included sourdough bread and butter, marinated olives, deviled eggs, a king oyster mushroom katsu sandwich, a charcuterie board, fried mozzarella, pan-seared salmon, and crispy potatoes. The standout dishes for us were the deviled egg, the mushroom katsu sandwich, and the crispy potatoes all unique, flavorful, and memorable. That said, the portioning was a bit odd, and it wasn t always clear how we were supposed to share everything. Some dishes were served individually (we each got a deviled egg), while others seemed to be for sharing in ways that didn t quite add up. For example, the crispy potatoes were served on three plates, each with just three pieces, making it awkward to divide among six people. Similarly, only three plates of salmon were brought out, leaving us to figure out how to split them. That said, the service was great friendly and attentive without being stuffy. They also have a really nice selection of mocktails, which is always a welcome as someone who doesn t drink. For dessert, we couldn t resist and ended up trying almost everything on the menu. The toffee pudding and ice cream sundae were the highlights for me, but honestly, you probably can t go wrong with any of their sweets. Overall, And/Ore is definitely on the pricier side, but the food and service make it worth a visit especially if you re not the one paying! If you do go, I d highly recommend trying to book a table in the downstairs cave area. It s a great spot for a special occasion or a dinner that feels a little fancy. I d say it s worth checking out at least once.
We celebrated my sister s 40th Birthday and the food, ambience and staff were top notch!!! You won t be disappointed.
I had higher expectations for this restaurant. The staff were quite rude and disrespectful, and the food was served cold.
the food was cold, i expected more from a 4.7 star restaurant
The ambience, food and service was phenomenal at and/ore. We were celebrating our anniversary and were served by Austin and Omar. They had some great recommendations, were very attentive and helpful. We had le bon secret, picanha steak, shrimp and scallions, ice cream sundae and creamet d anjou. The ice cream sundae was the highlight and everything we had was top notch. Will definitely visit again
The food was absolutely scrumptious, the ambiance was beautiful and the service was spectacular!
My group did tapas on the upper level. Had a really nice time sharing plates and drinks with my girlfriends! I came here to celebrate my birthday and the vibes were there, food was tasty and enough of a variety everyone found something they enjoyed would definitely come back!
We dined at the Above Ground experience last night and were blown away by and/ore! The staff were incredible, specifically our server, Dawson and food was 10/10. Not to mention the space is beautiful. Thank you, we will be back for Below Ground!
Two kind of seatings, we booked the above ground, which is mainly for drinks, snacks and shareable. Decor is very nice, Gothic chic I think, very cool vibe. Drink selections are extensive. We arbitrary chosen champagne and wines, we werent disappoint. The food we ordered were quite delectable, except maybe the Mahi Mahi, I preferred lightly seared instead of sashimi style but thats just personal preference. Grilled bread has a nice smokiness to it, wonderful with the chiken liver & bacon pate and prevent one from getting too drunk with those wonderful wines. Duck confit pie(2 pies) were paired perfectly with creamy squash butter and sweet sour pickled blueberry. The Picanha steak was superb, tender yet beefy (I do wonder if I could ask for medium doneness). Try the crispy potato, a bit like au gratin but not quite, slices of potato done into a tasty fried brick toast, without the onion and cheese. Last but not least, toffee cake was a hit with me, warm and fragrant not overly sweet balanced out with an ice cream on top. Service was quite attentive and pleasant. A little gem of a place for intimate light dining or gathering of friends for few drinks experience. Looking forward to try their Below Ground tasting menu.
My boyfriend and I reserved here for our anniversary! We chose to eat above-ground (two levels) and were greeted kindly by the workers. We had flowers and they provided a little standing bucket for me to put them in (thank you!). The atmosphere was vibey, warm, and cozy once more people started to come in. I love the low exposure lighting and interior of the place. For drinks, we both got mocktails. I got the Mae and he got the Margarita. I didn t quite like the taste of mine, but we both liked his drink. The food was actually very good. We tried the Mushroom Katsu and Beef Tartare (came with sweet potato chips) for appetizers. I don t know if it s because I was hungry, but the katsu was soo good. The crunch was consistent and the flavours balanced well together, although you can t really taste the mushroom itself. I wanted more of it! We then ordered the Picanha Steak and Smoked Lamb Ribs. Both were phenomenal and flavoured really well. The steak had hints of sweetness and tartness due to the chimichurri. The lamb was well smoked and was not overpowering. For dessert, we got the Blossoming Strawberry and Ice cream Sundae. They even wrote a cute message which was sweet! THE HOJICHA GELATO WAS AMAZING in the sundae. That was the highlight of the night for me. The chocolate and fried banana with the gelato together was delicious. The blossoming strawberry was okay - creamy, light and chocolate-y (hard white chocolate shell on the outside). It was a bit difficult to eat, but still yummy. Overall, I would come back for the above-ground and to try their underground cave experience! Thank you for a great anniversary dinner
The tasting menu offered a creative lineup of beautifully plated dishes, showcasing thoughtful ingredient combinations and refined flavors. Each course felt carefully curated, and the dishes were visually stunning. However, there were some notable drawbacks during our dining experience. The Yukon Gold Potato with dulse, pickled burdock, and lemon verbena was disappointingly salty, to the point where it was difficult to eat. We left a good portion of the dish on the plate, but when the server cleared it, she didn t ask for feedback despite the obvious untouched food. This felt like a missed opportunity for the restaurant to address or learn from potential guest concerns. Additionally, the pacing of the service was quite slow. There was only one server managing the entire floor, apart from food runners and bussers, which meant each table had to wait for her to individually explain the dishes. Early in the meal, this resulted in long waits between courses, prompting us to request that the pace be sped up. While the service did improve after that, the initial delays detracted from the flow of the meal. Overall, while the food and presentation were memorable, the execution of service and responsiveness to guest feedback could use some refinement to elevate the dining experience.
Food is unreal.
very nice Dietary restrictions: very accomadating Food : 5/5 |
Went to the restaurant with a few friends and ordered the picnic menu in the above ground concept. The food was so so good, the amount you get for the $65 price is fantastic. Our server, Dre, was so funny and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond in making our experience amazing. They catered to my gluten allergy and I was able to enjoy all the menu items without fear of a reaction. Highly highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Easily accommodated my gluten allergy. Did not have any reaction and the food was only slightly modified so I felt like I was enjoying the same dish as those in my party.
Beautiful space and great service! The deviled egg stood out as amazing, and the picnic chef menu offered good variety. However, the salmon was dry, and the mozzarella lacked flavor. Overall, a mixed experience with attentive staff.
The best place I ve eaten in a long time! Highly recommend. Food
Amazing place
My wife and I hosted our wedding at and/ore and it was spectacular on all fronts. 10/10 food, service and drinks. Our guests were so happy with everything and Abby went the extra mile to make our night perfect.
My friends wedding reception was recently hosted here and it was great all around. Food was excellent, service was top notch, and the ambience and atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommend, whether going for dinner, or to host an event
Our son and his new bride held their wedding reception at And/Ore, it was spectacular! The charming decor, warm ambience, attentive staff topped by amazingly curated dishes, made for a memorable experience! Thank you And/Ore, for making our childrens special day even more magical.
The food and atmosphere were great. The service, not so much. Firstly, we arrived and the hostess (Southeast Asian ethnicity) sat us down on the first level (Below Ground). We asked if we can see the second level (Above ground) atmosphere and she seemed REALLY annoyed, giving us dirty looks and saying something along the lines of fine . We went up and decided that we wanted to sit there. We saw this place on social media and came for the pictures in one specific corner, so we moved ourselves to the table right next to us. Please note that there was NO OTHER CUSTOMERS on the second level. The reason we didn t call the waiters to ask to move us was because they were nowhere to be found upstairs (understandable). Also there was no food on the table at this point so we just took our waters and sat at the table beside us. The Southeast Asian hostess came up and again, very rudely told us to stop moving around because we already moved from downstairs to upstairs . I m sorry but I was baffled. Isn t the whole concept of this restaurant portrayed around the two floor atmosphere???? The hostess was so extremely rude and I can t even stress this enough. The way she stared at us was insane when didn t even do anything wrong. Lastly, when we walked out of the restaurant she was standing outside and she glared at us all the way to my car. I cannot fathom this type of behaviour especially for someone who works in customer service. Huge disgrace to the brand. Hope she gets fired ASAP.
Highly recommend this restaurant! From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was captivated. Every detail in the environment was clearly thought through; from the painting on the walls, to the rod iron structure reaching to the ceiling, to the velvet couches. We sat upstairs and could see the whole first floor -- simply beautiful. Now for the most important part of any restaurant -- the food!! Each dish was very different and delicious creating a unique culinary experience. The drinks were yummy and I was eyeing the drinks at another table as well. And then dessert -- if I could have licked the bowl I would have. For your next special occasion, or for a night out with family or friends, I would definitely recommend checking out And/Ore.
Beautiful space with a curated menu. We went with friends on a Saturday night and dined at the Above Ground restaurant. It can get really busy so I recommend making a reservation in advance. We didn t go for the Chef s menu but decided to do a few small plates to share instead. Although the menu felt a bit limited, the grilled shrimps and the crispy potato were delicious! I would love to try the Below Ground restaurant next time!
Very cool experience! The service was great and food was also very good!! Absolutely loved the wine pairings with the courses
Beautee was so helpful it was a magical experience for me i loved it!!! Thank you for everything!!
Had the most incredible birthday experience. Starting with an amazing mixology lesson that led into a beautifully curated 8 course secret dinner menu in the below part of the restaurant. The service was exceptional and the food was a creatively presented and balanced tasting journey. I highly recommend adding this to your must try experiences in Toronto . Wont be disappointed. Thank you Abby and staff!
Juan made me feel feelings I haven t felt in a long time. He is so charming and lovely. Food was pretty good too
i love this restaurant so much. i get treated like royalty every time. Omar was so helpful and welcoming and our server Juan was amazing.
Fabulous food, drinks, and atmosphere! Juan was absolutely incredible and I cant wait to be back
Low quality food for price. Ordered tasting menu. Not my vibe but atmosphere and service were okay. IMO there are better restaurants in the area. Food : 1/5
I typically dont leave full 5-star reviews but this was beyond my expectations!! Such a cozy and gorgeous atmosphere, with the most friendly and helpful servers. Nathan was amazing! The food and drinks were delicious, I would highly recommend the deviled egg as an appetizer!
I had the Greatest Dinner experience here. This Restaurant sets a mood for a Special night out. Guys - I am so Glad I picked this place. WOW! The Shareable Plates, Delicious cocktails and excellent service set the mood for an Amazing night that went on long after Dinner. If you are Really lucky you will get seated in the below ground cave - then its just a matter of getting an uber to get back home and work off dessert.
I had heard such great things about this restaurant so I finally made my way out here. Unfortunately, I came on a Tuesday so the downstairs restaurant was closed so we went to the upstairs bar for some food and drinks. Even on a Tuesday it was still fairly busy that we got in quite easily with our reservations. The first thing I ll say is the decor is stunning. The service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. They weren t overbearing, but you never had to wait long before you got someone s attention. We ended up trying a few cocktails and a few different wines and absolutely everything we had was amazing. Their signature cocktails were very well balanced and quite interesting. Their foods were absolutely amazing. We tried a large portion of their menu. Their bar menu is mainly to share snacks and to share small entrées. There was really nothing on the menu that we didn t really find incredibly well done. Definitely I will say my favourite dishes were the mushroom sandwich, the duck pie, the ribs and the potatoes. I cannot speak highly enough about this restaurant. I will definitely be back to try the restaurant in the downstairs portion. I can honestly save it. This might be my new favourite restaurant in Toronto. Their food may be some of the best I ve had in a very long time.
Very cool atmosphere. The tasting menu was great.
Good service , nice aesthetic venue! I tried the tasting menu though and nothing stood out or wowed me. The prices aren t bad but I wouldn t go again because the food isn t memorable and there are so many restaurants in Toronto. The deviled eggs uses Vietnamese seasoning.
Such a great vibe, staff and owners truly amazing!!! Food was phenomenal!! Drinks were on point aswell! **The toffee cake was ridiculously good and I hope that stays on the menu forever!
Great restaurant to go to for a special occasion. I managed to get a reservation for the below ground and it was great. The 8 course menu was very well thought out and was paced very well. I really enjoyed the maitake mushroom the most. The least likeable dish for me- was with dulse. It was confusing and honestly wasn t my thing , but it was plated well. Drinks were great and the server was very attentive/ knowledgeable explaining all the courses.
Had the 8-course tasting menu in the below ground. The below ground s cave-like interior was unique and stunning. Each course was delicately delicious with great balance and plated neatly. My personal favourites were the starting bites with 3 different items and the maitake mushroom dish. The service was also top notch, our servers were very kind and informative on all the ingredients for each dish. They also provided a Korean menu for us as they heard us speaking Korean to each other, which was cute. I d never seen a Korean menu in any of the fine dining restaurants I ve been to in Toronto. Overall, had a great experience here! I think this restaurant deserves a Michelin star. Definitely planning to come back to try out the above ground as well.
Andore delivers on all fronts: incredible food, outstanding service (Beauty was our lovely server and she was amazing!), and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after the meal is over - its just soooo aesthetically pleasing!!!! It s the kind of restaurant you ll find yourself returning to again and again. If you re looking for a dining experience that checks every box, Andore is a must-visit. Highly recommended! Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator
The staff gave me a VIP experience
Stopped by for celebratory drinks and dessert -- was blown away by the service, decor and attention to detail. Everyone from the chef to the host was attentive & kind, and the food was to die for. And/ore made celebrating my recent engagement so special. Will definitely be coming back! Huge thanks to Naima for recommending!!
This restaurant is just trying too hard. The food isnt gourmet...taste-wise, its nothing to write home about. The portion sizes are less than bite-sized. You get a ridiculously small amount of food for the price tag. You WILL be hungry after leaving this place. The menu is small, there should be more items offered since they all come in such small portions. The drinks are overpriced, and took AGES to come to our table. The food also took forever to come. The atmosphere is pretty chill, and the whole cave thing is an interesting effect, but still feels like they are trying to make it look like they are top tier when their food & the overall experience is average/mediocre. The servers were OK, a bit frantic though. We sat upstairs to eat, but we went to check out what the cave area looked like. The pricing is also wack. Each sharing plate is priced like a main, but the number of plates youd need to buy eat a reasonable amount of food is ridiculous. I wouldnt recommend this place... Especially if youre actually hungry.... The music was too loud, and with a table of 5 people, we were all shouting and could barely hear each other. Overall, I see the vibe they were trying to create, but the value for money here is extremely low.
My recent experience at And/Ore was absolutely wonderful! My boyfriend and I celebrated his 30th birthday in the beautiful above-ground space, where we enjoyed fantastic cocktails and a delicious lemon cake (seriously one of the best cakes Ive ever had). I d like to extend a special thanks to our server, Nathan, who truly made the evening unforgettable. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went out of his way to enhance our experience. From his thorough knowledge of the menu to personally making a list of all the gins available at the bar, Nathan s exceptional service ensured everything was seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend And/Ore to anyone and look forward to returning to try the below-ground menu :)
The basement is an amazing experience, actually the whole place is
Me and my wife came here right when they opened for our anniversary. We met one of the owners who took us on a tour. All staff were friendly, atmosphere amazing, lots of signature cocktails. We came months later and the owner said recognized us! And we are glad that the service remained top notch! Amazing spot for a date night, quick drink, dinner, or even an event space. We are planning on hosting our yearly Christmas party here! They have multiple levels with different vibes.
The service was great, food was presented really beautifully, and the cave was pretty. However the food was average at best, perhaps even less. If you re paying $550-$600 (with one drink) for two people you should be providing an exceptional culinary experience.
One of the best restaurants Ive even been to, if not the best. Incredible tasting menu, great service, and the atmosphere is truly unmatched. Will have to come back again! Food : 5/5
Spectacular experience from beginning to end. Service was amazing and cocktails on point. Shout out to to bartender Yas. The food was honestly perfect. My date certainly didn t match the atmosphere and vibe, which I apologize for. Absolutely recommend 100%. Coming back with better date. You are all the best, see you soon.
Went there with few friends for the tasting menu. Food was simply amazing so hats off to chef missy. Wine pairings for the meal was just great. The cocktails made by yazmine was definitely worth trying . N ofcourse abby was a breath of fresh air, made our experience simply unforgettable. Definitely coming back soon to try their a la cart menu for sure
Recently visited And/Ore and dined in the underground section. We can truly say this up there as the best resturant to go and visit. We have travelled the world and been to some amazing resturants, and this has been my favorite it was just amazing, the food, drinks and staff were 5 star. People who travel to Canada, must add this as bucket list experience , Keep up the great work. Regards from Joe and Liz Parrotta from Australia
We got amazing service here. The absinthe is amazing and Georgia the hostess gave us the best service. This is a must go spot in Toronto!
First time here and was excited because of all of the great reviews and this restaurant did not disappoint!!! It was beautiful inside and out, the atmosphere was great. The music selection was perfect and playing at just the right volume (which is awesome because some places play their music way too loud). Will, our server was amazing and attentive, knowing exactly what we needed. He knew the menu well and was very personable. On to the food and drinks. All unbelievable. Started with probably the best old fashioned I ve ever had in my life and everything we ordered was delicious. Not only that it came out surprisingly fast which was a bonus. The mahi mahi, shrimp and crispy potato s were so tasty. Definitely get the mushroom sandwiches because they were crazy good.
Went here for my friend s Birthday and wow we were all blown away. First of all, this place is seriously stunning, the decor and details on every floor were so beautiful and just aesthetically pleasing. Our server was William and he was so sweet and helpful. Since it was our first time there he suggested some popular items on the menu and it did not disappoint. My personal favourites were the devilled eggs, crispy potatoes, mahi mahi, steak and burnt cabbage. Ohhh and do not leave without trying the MUSHROOM SANDWICH!!! We also got the Petit Lemon Cake which was also amazing and it was a perfect size to share for 4 people. Definitely recommend this place for a date night or girls night! They have a lot of yummy cute cocktails! My friends and I will definitely be back and would like to try the Below Ground menu!
Had the fixed menu - average at best Slow service - 10 to 15 minutes between each dish Food was ok, nothing special Won t go back, won t recommend Food : 3/5 |
Stunning decor, exceptional hospitality and delicious bites. 10/10 highly recommend
Absolutely love the atmosphere! If I could give this place more than 5 stars for their service I would! The cocktails were out of this world....definitely elevated and delicious! A must try if you havent been here before!
Firstly, the hostess was STELLAR ~ she came over to our tables (yes, tableS ~ huge party) and warmly welcomed us! She was inviting and gracious, and the staff followed suit The ambiance is incredible . Upstairs, there is an atmosphere of laughter, celebratory jubilation, and good vibes / times and if you desire calm, serene, intimate dining, there is a cave that awaits you downstairs! This cave is cozy, mysterious, and gently beckons that sophisticated, and relaxed part of yourself that you can comfortably let out to play here . All in all, this is a place that calls to your soul, and I would recommend it to EVERYONE for literally any occasion / celebration, even just an evening of chill ~ enjoy, from the moment you step in, to that smile with which you step out Dietary restrictions: There are options for EVERYONE ~ Talk about an All Inclusive dining extravaganza . Explosive on the pallet, awakening senses with every bite! I even had the pleasure of my daughter actually enjoying her vegetables! I am truly inspired and in awe of this versatile and charming restaurant Kid-friendliness: Children are WELCOME and have the opportunity to experience fine dining at its BEST! While this option is Kid-friendly, it s also an adult s playground The cocktails are simply divine, calling on your inner child, with a selection ready for exploration and delicious excitement eg. The Signature Old Fashioned ~ this palette pleaser awakened the kid in me, as I feasted on the Cotton Candy Component of this delightful masterpiece contained in perfection of each yummy sip
We had a great date night underground thank you for the delicious course meal and amazing customer service!
The buzz is accurate. We ate in the main floor room, which as others have mentioned, is a very stylish and unique space. The food was delicious and sized well for sharing (there were four of us). Highly recommend a visit.
I recently celebrated my birthday at Restaurant Andore on August 23rd, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, our evening was made special by the attentive staff, starting with our hostess Marissa, who warmly greeted us and escorted us to our table. The restaurants aesthetic is stunning, with dim lighting and beautiful murals that create the perfect ambiance for a date night or a girls night out. We were seated on the upper level, which offered a lovely view of the bar and a gorgeous chandelier-lit space for larger parties. Our server Juan took excellent care of us throughout the night. To kick off the celebration, the General Manager brought us a glass of champagne a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. The menu is a haven for those who love sharable plates, and the food exceeded all expectations. We started with the Devilled Eggs, Duck Confit Hand Pie, Chicken Liver & Bacon Pâté, and Beef Tartare. Each dish was delicious, but the Eggs, Duck, and Pâté were standouts we even ordered a second Pâté to share! For the main shareables, we indulged in the Grilled Shrimp & Scallion, Smoked Lamb Ribs, Picanha Steak, Burnt Cabbage, and Crispy Potato. The Lamb Ribs were simply outstanding, and the Crispy Potato was another favorite. Every dish was expertly prepared and left us fully satisfied. The drinks were equally impressive. The bar staff puts great care into crafting each cocktail, making them as visually stunning as they are delicious. Yuan timed our drink orders perfectly, ensuring we were never left waiting. Omar, another hostess, also checked in on us throughout the night, adding to the exceptional service we received. To top off an already amazing evening, General Manager Abbie gave us a tour of the cave in the basement a private dining area where you can enjoy a tasting menu. This unique space added a memorable final touch to our experience. Needless to say, we will definitely be back and highly recommend you check it out. Tianna
Great vibes food was good not high end (in my opinion) we had the devilled egg fried cheese picanha steak and lamb ribs (was way to fatty and buttery) also the mains were titled shareable and we were confused cause steak was 5 oz and lamb ribs was two peices
Some of the best food I ve had in the city - toffee cake is 10000/10
Food was excellent, servers were knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Highly recommend
Ambience was great and food was phenomenal
Came here with my cousins (we were a group of 12 people), and the staff took such great care of us! Everyone was so kind, and we felt extremely catered to. Shout out to Abby for being such a gem of a human being! We did the tasting menu, Above Ground - the atmosphere was gorgeous, and everything we ate tasted delicious. We especially liked the salmon, and the deviled eggs. The food was great quality, and we were so full by the end of it. Thank you for an amazing experience!
Our group did the below ground tasting menu and the food and atmosphere were amazing. We loved every bite and would definitely come back for the food. Biggest downside was the service. They felt very new, barely knew the food and even less so on the wine, really distracted from the overall experience. Truly hope this improves as this place is amazing.
I had a wonderful experience at and/ore! The interior design is stunning and creates such a unique and impressive atmosphere. The concept of small, sharable plates really stood out to me, and every dish I tried was delicious. The flavors were well-balanced and creative, making each bite a delight. On top of that, the service was excellent friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It s definitely a special place to visit, whether for a casual night out or a celebration. Highly recommend checking it out
I wanted to take a moment to extend my gratitude to everyone at And/Or who contributed to an amazing dining experience this past Friday, Sept 6th. My partner and I were celebrating his birthday after a long few weeks of bereavement. Our experience at And/Or was such a needed break from reality, and the staff exceeded our expectations. We felt like VIPs. Without sounding over dramatic... sometimes there are moments in our lives that are meant to take place, moments that align with the intentions of the universe, that involve incredible people. This was one of these moments. So, to put it simply, thank you for showing up and for simply being incredible. Thank you for helping make this moment a memorable experience. Please share the team. We look forward to seeing you all very soon.
As soon as I saw photos of this restaurant on social media, I booked a reservation. Where else can you say youve dined in a cave? The cave concept is unique - albeit a little too dark - and youd be hard pressed to find anywhere else as cool. But of course, the real test is the food. The cave / basement only offers a tasting menu and its priced similarly with the likes of other fine dining establishments in Toronto. The menu advertises itself as Canadian but I found it more fusion with a lot of Asian-Inspired cooking styles and ingredients. For example, the sashimi starter and pear in rice wine pre-dessert will be pretty familiar to Asian tastebuds. Even the way the shortrib is braised is very reminiscent of Korean galbi. This is of course not a bad thing, but I found the dishes lacking in creativity in that aspect. I liked almost everything that was presented to me, but there was nothing that I found super innovative. At the prices that they are charging, I expected something more surprising than fancy fusion food. There were Canadian ingredients used, but the menu could be a lot more stronger in that regard. For example, the chocolate cake could have used a more interesting native fruit. Overall, it was a good experience but I would have liked the menu to be more interesting.
Food was very good. Our server and the front of house staff were lovely. But we had an issue paying as none of their machines worked - the manager dealt with it rudely - asking are you not from here? (!). And then another server snapped at us for simply asking to see the cave. Charm and politeness cost nothing folks.
The bad reviews on here just seem like petty people that are not self aware or know how to just communicate. I had an amazing experience for my birthday. The server was so sweet and the food was amazing, best steak I ve had in my life. Yes it s pricey and the portions are small but it was perfect for a special occasion where you want to try a variety of dishes. We had to rush for a show after and the server was positive, understanding and super professional. My boyfriend (a chef) and I were literally telling pedestrians on the street to go in. Thank you for killing it on my birthday!
I had the best time here! The food was amazing and the staff were so kind and made our experience so warm and inviting. Also great touch to have the menu in various language, so inclusive! I ll be back for sure!
This place is amazing!!! I love how they have menus in different languages and how it s female run. It s so inclusive and the food is fantastic. Over all, it was a great dining experience
Beautiful space. Dined on the main floor as we couldnt get reservations for the below ground space. Nice curated menu. Cocktails looked interesting though we opted for a wine bottle. Service was attentive and were able to get good suggestions of what to order on the menu. We will definitely be back to sample some of the other things on the menu, and maybe try out the below ground space.
I had a fantastic experience at And/Ore last night while celebrating a friend s birthday in the below-ground section of the restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a special occasion. Carli, our server, was excellent attentive, friendly, and made sure everything went smoothly throughout the evening. The food was delicious, and the service really made the night memorable. Highly recommend for both the atmosphere and the wonderful staff!
I dined here last night with some friends and partook in their Below Ground seasonal tasting menu with their wine pairing. Each course was outstanding, and the pairings complimented each dish perfectly. I highly recommend and will be returning asap!
Gorgeous atmosphere, lovely staff, and our drinks were amazing and unique! Definitely recommend if you want to try a new spot with a great vibe!
Not only does this restaurant have a stunning interior, but the food was to die for! My personal favourites were the skirt steak, deviled eggs and katsu sandwich. Dessert was also amazing, would highly recommend coming here. The staff were also very kind and attentive.
We attended 2 champagne tastings at And/ore led by a sommelier. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the process, varieties, and discovering new champagnes from small producers, while snacking on delicious bites by the andore chefs. We look forward ward to being back for dinner in the dining room.
Lovely spot. Staff was very kind, attentive and knowledgeable. Food was delicious. Overall portion on the smaller side. We got the wine pairing with it and it was really nice although more wine than I would normally drink at dinner . Great tasting menu though, I would recommend. Loved the flavour profiles.
Staff were absolutely amazing. Friendly attentive. Really great atmosphere and food was top notch. The chefs picnic was a great way to experience a variety of dishes.
Great food, great atmosphere, great team of staff!
An absolutely incredible experience at And/Ore. We dined in the cave as a group of four and we loved every moment. The food, the service, the ambiance, the lighting, all of it was standout. Our favourite dishes were the first course (crudo, arrancini, caviar fortune cookie), the scallop and the short rib. Dessert was also stunning! Our server explained each dish in detail, highlighting each ingredient/ element and how it played into the taste, texture or creation of the dish. We had the wine pairing as well, which was well worth it. A beautiful restaurant delivering a truly unique experience! We look forward to coming back.
Heard through the grapevine that Neil is a hot dad
It was a maddening search to find a late night table in the midst of Ossington Festival. The universe conspired to bring us to and/ore for a truly singular experience of amazing food, a relaxed vibe and impeccable service. Thank you and/ore for the best night in Toronto so far. T&P
Excellent service. Very courteous and welcoming staff. We ordered the octopus, potatoes, and burnt cabbage and all items were of good quality.
Why go to And/Ore? This is Toronto, a city full of gorgeous spaces with amazing staff and unimaginably good food and drinks, all of which And/Ore has, in abundance. (Try the King Oyster Mushroom Katsu Sandwich. No, really. You will NOT regret it.) This review, however, is mostly about a too often overlooked, integral part of the dining experience which And/Ore NAILED: The Glassware. It starts with the water glasses: solid, heavy bottoms; smaller circumference so as to not overwhelm smaller hands; nice weight. Very simple. Nice, but nothing really outstanding. Until you put it to your mouth. The lip of the glass is fine, yet not too thin to be worrisome. An unexpected pleasure to drink from, and that s just the water. The fig shaped champagne glasses are the perfect compliment to the bubbles they serve; the fluted tumbler for my long drink felt so good in my hands, as satisfying to drink from as the cocktail, itself, was to drink. The red wine glasses made me swoon. Every liquid I drank at And/Ore was in a perfectly perfect glass. What a delight! Yes, glasses are a bit of a fetish with me, but how is the glass no longer considered an integral part of the wine and cocktail experience? I am amazed that so many restaurants will go to so much trouble to create delicious food and drink, then give no thought to the glasses beyond how they look on the table and the proper shape for their contents. Every dollar store in the city has champagne flutes, highball glasses, coupes &c. But the way a glass feels in hand, and, even more, the mouthfeel, have such a profound affect on how a drink, well, drinks. At least it does for me, and I suspect I m not the only one. I assume that glasses are a large, ongoing expense for any restaurant - they are, after all, glass, and surely must need to be replaced fairly regularly. But the difference a well considered glass makes to the experience of drinking even the cheapest wine - never mind the $18-$25 cocktails that are now the norm in our fair city - is huge. And ALL the glassware at And/Ore is as carefully considered as the drinks that are poured into them; as carefully considered as the food, the service, and the decor. Again, the food was outstanding (Chef s Picnic is such a great choice!) and the staff were phenomenal, walking that fine line between paying attention and being in our faces. You can see the pictures for yourself and tell how gorgeous it is inside. But the glasses are that note which let you know that the people running And/Ore are not messing around. They know what they re doing, and they re doing it right.
I normally dont frequent Toronto, so having spent the day there my girlfriends and I had to try this spot out .. people we talked to raved about this place!! We had an excellent experience, the service was wonderful - Nathan has a great personality and everything he recommended was wonderful. All the food sounded great so we ended up getting the Chefs picnic which had a little bit of everything to try. Their cocktails were also 10/10! The atmosphere is cozy, classy and very inviting. Make a reservation and give them a try!
This is a gorgeous new restaurant with equally delicious food and top-notch staff! As soon as you walk in you feel well taken care of as the staff is attentive, yet not stuffy. Each dish is more delightful and creative than the last. Im still dreaming of the deviled egg and key lime mousse dessert. Myself and some girlfriends attended one of the champagne tasting events and had a blast learning about different champagne varieties, terroir & touching rocks from where the grapes were grown. They also gave everyone a little packet of clay (soil sample from where one of the grape varieties was grown) to use as a facial mask at home. What a delightful touch! A clear sign that they really do think of every last detail. A must go Toronto restaurant!!
5 star vibe and service. The place is beautifully designed, compact yet well-spaced, and has a casual chic energy. The service is excellent - attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. We tried a number of their inventive dishes, and the standouts for me were the curry fishballs (nicely springy, with a really tasty curry sauce), burnt cabbage (great caramelization and texture, surprisingly hearty) and blooming strawberry (smooth and creamy). My wife loved the King Oyster Mushroom Katsu Sandwich (she couldnt believe the texture and tasye was veggie). Thanks for the lovely evening, And/Ore.
Best restaurant experience I ve had in a long time. Our table had the Chef s Picnic. Food was top notch. Favourite was the deviled eggs. The decor is beautiful and the service was the right blend of attentive and unobtrusive. Will definitely be back!
Dining here was an experience. The decor above ground was gorgeous, the food and drinks were phenomenal. Fave foods were the devilled egg, king oyster mushroom katsu sando, fried mozzarella with gochujang, and the trout. The desserts were light and fresh, with just the right amount of sweetness. I love that you can get a flight of champagne, especially since few restaurants have that on offer. I definitely will be back
There are 100 better places to go to spend 200$ a person.
Found a piece of beard hair on my plate of short-rib. Management was unprofessional while dealing with the hair situation. Such a disappointment, and so gross. I do not recommend dining at and/ore. We experienced The Cave tasting menu. Every item looked cool, but completely missed in flavour/execution. Not worth $195 per person. The house special old fashion for $28 was recommended. Again, while the cloud of cotton candy was cute, there is NO WAY an old fashioned should ever have that much sugar/sweetness.
Wow, it was our first anniversary. And/ore did not disappoint! Karli was phenomenal so attentive and made our experience so memorable! Will be back!
Amazing! Well worth the wait!
Amazing experience, the cave set a very memorable atmosphere. The food and presentation was amazing! Abby made our night incredibly special.
The tasting menu blew us away, every course was on the cusp of being ridiculous. Usually, we re not full but we left completely stuffed! Would highly recommend making a reservation and putting all allergies because they are slightly obsessed with accommodating strangers requests. Thank you for an awesome dinner. Six stars.
The interior of this restaurant was stunning. The food was excellent. The concept is sharing like a picnic. I went with a friend and we got the roasted chicken and added the potatoes and bread it was divine. Everything tasted amazing. The only thing was the portion sizes even as a sharing option was a bit small but otherwise it was great. The service was fabulous. Highly recommend place to go with friends or on a date.
Terrible customer service - Booked a special event and a private room about two months prior and had been emailing them continuously to make sure everything is taken care of. Then two days before the event they cancelled us saying there s a photo shoot. No Decency to call or apologize or make alternative arrangements.
I was here for my friend s bachelorette dinner party in July, and we all had an amazing time here! There were 8 of us, and we ordered the Chef s Picnic. At first glimpse it didn t look like a lot of food, but boy were we all full stomachs by the end of the meal! The food was really delicious and well executed. At the end of the night, I believe it was the manager, she gave us a private tour of the above and underground spaces of the restaurant, and even went out of her way to help take photos for us! And/Ore is truly a beautiful and unique spot to dine out. I highly recommend this place!
Excellent service, perfect ambiance and incredible food - can t recommend this place highly enough. The cocktails were excellent too, definitely try the signature old fashioned which comes with cotton candy
Food, ambience, service - really amazing experience. I noticed art on the walls was all hand painted and the server told me it took 3 months to complete. Very cool.
Gorgeous interiors and just beautiful, delicious food whether you dine above or below. Spendy but worth it, have been back three times and its definitely become the go to for special occasion dining
I have had the chance to eat at both the above and below ground parts of the restaurant, and I couldn t be more impressed. The atmosphere is STUNNING. Above ground is very fairy-tale dream like. The below ground is cave themed with dim lighting, and very chill vibes. Wherever you choose to eat, this restaurant is perfect for a date night. The food is amazing. Above ground has a picnic-style menu, and the below ground has a seasonal tasting menu with an optional wine pairing. Every dish is unique to anything I ve tried before. The flavours of everything mix together very well, and features local foods prepared in way that I probably would never have thought of before this restaurant. The service was top notch. Waiters are very kind and informative about each dish. We were told what every ingredient was, and where it was from. food also came out pretty quickly. I don t eat fish/shellfish, and the chef was more than happy to make accommodations that didn t sacrifice quality at all. Overall 10/10, a must visit. Or don t. I like keeping my favourite spots lowkey :) Dietary restrictions: Before your order, let the waiter know of any dietary restrictions you may have. The alternatives do not sacrifice any quality at all.
This was one of the most incredible culinary experiences I ve had in Toronto! We had a reservation for below ground & from the moment we stepped in we were in awe of the beautiful & warm aesthetic. All the staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that the evening was perfect, particularly Juan and Abby! Every dish on the 7 course menu was exceptional and we really appreciated the attention to detail in both the presentation as well as the explanations of the concept behind each dish. The cuisine can be described as the best of what Canada has to offer. We also chose the wine/drink pairing with each dish and it elevated the experience to the next level (particularly at the end when the bartender made the best espresso martini I ve ever had!). and/ore is deserving of all the praise and we can t wait to be back!
We celebrated our dear friend s wedding here, had a great time. The food was superb (lamb ribs with cucumber, shrimp veggie, deep friend potato cubes, etc), the service was outstanding (big thanks to Nathan!!) and we enjoyed the vibe (music was awesome!). Even the dessert was unbelievable! Definitely recommend!
Came on a Saturday night, our greet at the door was prompt, we were sat right away (it s good to make a reservation) our server was incredible. Carly and the staff made us feel very special. Great job to the manager on duty (Abigail) and the Kitchen team. Food was very memorable, drinks were unique and interesting, would be back in a heartbeat.
We held a small wedding reception in the Mezzanine to celebrate with a dozen friends. We could not be happier to have had the reception at and/ore. Their team is simply amazing - from helping us with the logistics, accommodating us with decorating the space, dealing with unforeseen issues, and coming up with great ideas to save the day. Our reception would not have gone as smoothly as it did without their above and beyond efforts. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. Our guests all loved their time and so did we. We found the price to be very reasonable even though we had the space to ourselves for the entire evening. Special thanks to Abby, Nathan and many others at and/ore for making this an unforgettable experience!
tried the tasting menu and it was definitely a diverse menu with wide variety of flavours. the chef definitely knew how to pair specific flavours together to make a unique dish. service was great as well with our server being very attentive and informative. extra shout out to our server brandon who was a great vibe as well as abby, who gave us great hospitality at the end of the meal and saw us out! would reco for a date night or any time you want to grab a meal in the west!
Nathan provided excellent service and wonderful advice. Best service and food I have had in a long time!
Phenomenal experience. Started the night off with an excellent cocktail followed by the chef s picnic. A fantastic way to experience all this restaurant has to offer. Each dish was gorgeously plated and transitioned well into the next. Our server Nathan was wonderful, very personable and welcoming. The highlight was definitely the atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous, very elegant and created the perfect venue for a date night. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a classy but fun evening out.
Fantastic restaurant and dining experience. Beautiful interior design and the food was wonderful. The service was great and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the meal. I definitely recommend coming here as the food is easily shareable amongst larger groups or a few dishes can be happily eaten between smaller groups.
From the moment we stepped inside the restaurant, the decor and energy that we were welcomed with was the perfect start to a great evening. Our server was attentive and friendly, she was very knowledgeable and gave suggestions that made everyone at our table feel included and special. The drinks and food were amazing and everything was times to our pace and complimented each other. We will be back and highly recommend for a fun evening out or to celebrate with friends and family
Been here twice and was blown away!
A stunning setting to cap off our anniversary. A delicious menu with lovely staff. Dawson guided us through the selections as we sat overlooking the gorgeous space below. Not a bad seat in the house. Absolutely try the toffee cake as a finisher.
Saw this place on Instagram and looked them up. it s a cute concept with a restaurant with two different experiences. That decor is whimsical and adorable - at least on the main floor. The staff I attracted with were absolutely pleasant. Ordered a bunch of small plates and all the shareable - a Couple of cute drinks paired with some sweets, and left full and Sasisfied. I d recommend this restaurant for a first date, a friend date, a regular date, and even for a last date (at least you re full, right?). Will be back to b try the downstairs. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant was very attentive to dietary restrictions, actively inquired both when confirming the reservation when checking in and by the server before taking orders. Impressed.
This place is definitely worth every penny but Will really brings home the cake on this one! The downstairs cave ambience is spectacular and the food somehow still tops it! That being said the best part of our experience was our server Will! His EXTENSIVE knowledge on every aspect of each individual dish was superb and his customer service and attentiveness were amazing! Can no wait to come back and I hope to have your boy Will serve us again!
Had a dinner reservation here for a Friday night in the below ground room. It s a fairly intimate space with dim lighting and just a few tables with a bar at the front by the elevator. It s a pretty cool space to dine in. It almost feels like you re having a fine dining experience in a cave. They serve a tasting menu in the below ground room with an optional wine pairing. I appreciated the amount of effort that the staff put into introducing each dish and even the wines and dessert cocktail at the end. It really creates a strong connection to all the work that happens even outside of the kitchen and where they source their items. The first few dishes really put me in a happy place, and I appreciate the preparations that they took to deliver thoughtful combinations of flavours and textures. It s an experience that I would recommend for anyone who loves food. Having both the tasting menu and the wine pairing, I paid about $300 by the end of it, so it s on the pricier side but valid for what you re getting in terms of food, beverages, and service in a cool atmosphere.
I haven t tried their above-ground menu, but the below-ground experience is exceptional. The tasting menu is delicious, with the first few dishes (small bites, scallops, maitake) being the stars of the night. My least favorite dish was the salmon, as it was the least inventive compared to the rest. The courses were served over 2 hours and 40 minutes. In addition to the service and ambiance of the underground restaurant, and/ore truly created a unique dining experience.
Just wow. The only thing more (and less) impressive was that my friend who shall remain nameless had not already been here and had been into the cave. They wont even show me the cave and I made one half of that çloud x jhh spongeypants 1/1 deadstock dang.
I Love this new restaurant concept! I was here for date night and I been trying to make reservations at the underground portion of the restaurant for month! I am so glad I finally tried and it was great! The service was impeccable and super friendly. Food were all presented tastefully and most importantly, they tasted great!!! Also we were full! I was afraid we might not be...but thankfully a high end tasting menus can also be filling!! The setting was very unique, underground man made cave allow the diner to be more immersed in the I would definitely come back as they change the menu periodically.
Lovely place with family style meal. Everything was delicious.
Amazing food, service and ambience. Can t wait to return!!
No detail was spared at this one of a kind restaurant and memorable dining experience. If rating 100 stars was an option I would! Having previous dinned in the above ground portion of the establishment, my friends and I were enticed to return a second time, this evening trying out their below ground seasonal tasting menu. The dining area is located just a floor lower via the private elevator which leads to an intimate cave with dim lighting and a welcoming atmosphere. We were amazed at the variety of local and unique ingredients used to create the 8-course tasting menu we indulged in. The food was fresh and vibrant and featured combinations we had never tried but paired harmoniously with the other ingredients of the dishes. Aside from the delicious food, the attention to detail and care the staff took to our group was next to none. One of my friends has a collection of toys which I brought to the dinner to add to her collection, and the staff made it their mission to subtlety include little accents and features of the toys, going as far as hand-crafting chocolate shaped like the toy to add to our dessert. We truly felt like we had an amazing service experience, and that the entire team was so kind and genuinely wanted to make our night special. We booked another reservation while finishing our last course, and look forward to dining at And/Ore once again very soon. Vegetarian options: Variety of vegetarian dishes. Parking: Local street parking. Kid-friendliness: Very fun atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: No steps.
I can t say enough about how amazing our experience was at and/ore! We did the above ground for my husbands birthday and we absolutely loved it. The food, the vibe and the decor were all amazing. Not to mention the service not only from our amazing server Dre but also the rest of the staff who we interacted with that night. Everyone was so down to earth and friendly. We definitely have never experienced that level of service before! Thank you so much for a memorable experience!
Food was fine nothing exciting to write about. Service was not great tbh, water and cocktail glasses were always empty and it was only ever half full inside.
Very nice interior, cool mezzanine dining while looking down in the 2ST high space. We booked the above ground and enjoyed basically all the dishes smoked salmon, Roasted chicken, pan seared trout and crispy potato would come again and recommend
amazing experience
Had an incredible experience here with the girls!! We tried the picnic set. The service was exceptional!
Beautiful spot! Great service. Had a great time w. My friend.
Yes, it s a very pretty place. However, the food is not good whatsoever. The surface is mediocre however, most of the time they do not speak with you. I would not recommend.
Had a great time at And/ore. We ordered the Chefs Picnic and enjoyed every dish. For dessert we ordered the Frankies Ricotta Fritters and the Toffee cake, and both were exceptional. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The staff are incredibly hospitable. Highly recommended!
I was blown away with my experience below ground, that I had to try the above ground experience. It did not disappoint. Food and cocktails were fabulous. Exceptional service - was the perfect balance of feeling well attended to and not rushed or interrupted too frequently. Thanks William! A different vibe from below ground, but equally impressive. A must try!!
Six courses are all very cute. Cocktails are even better than food.
Food - we went down below and did the six course tasting menu. It was phenomenal. Everything was so well fed out and so beautifully plated. I ve eaten in Michelin star restaurants, and this is right up there with that sort of quality. The Dessert at the end was my highlight. Dark chocolate and cherries, I would go back just for this alone. I wanted to eat three of them. That s how good it was. The Crudo and the scallop were the only two dishes that were not my favorite. I felt like the crisp on top of the Crudo sort of took away from the flavor of the fish as for the scallop the hazelnuts were far too large if they were a dust or more of a fine chop , it would ve been more pleasing. This is just being nitpicky, though it really wasn t amazing dinner. Service - The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. There was significant traffic that day, so our party was arriving pretty late past our reservation time and they were happy to accommodate this for us. The servers were very well educated on each dish that was coming out and offered a very good description of each plate. Ambiance - I did really enjoy the vibe inside. We sat at the bar while we were waiting for the rest of our party to attend, and the bar area is really cool, a lot of interesting cocktails to choose from and just a general warm feeling. Down below looks like you re in a cave. It was very cool and unique however it was much smaller than I was expecting. The pictures online are slightly deceiving. Bathrooms - The bathrooms were also very small, but clean and well kept. Other - The wine list was top-notch as well. From the outside, the restaurant doesn t really look like much and if I were walking by, I probably wouldn t have even noticed it. Dietary restrictions: They did ask if we had dietary restrictions which I appreciate. Luckily nobody in our group needed this accommodation.
The tasting menu is incredible. If you want to try flavour combinations you wouldn t even think of, you have to do the tasting menu! Perfect sized portions, and every single dish is better than the next. Aside from the food, it was a unique cave environment that didn t feel like an underground hole; amazing ambiance. Dre was our server, and not only did she have us in tears from laughing so much, but her knowledge is extensive and she romanticized each dish along with the wine pairings. Her explanation as to why the pairing was made levelled up the entire experience. Emmerson was like a stealth wizard! We never sat with dirty dishes in front of us and she was so quick! There was never an interruption in our conversation or service. I can t wait to come back again and try the menu upstairs!!
I had the incredible pleasure of dining at chef Missy s new restaurant in downtown Toronto, and it was an experience I ll never forget. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the atmosphere the hand-painted art on the walls, brilliant colour scheme and the shining tower of alcohol behind the bar. The multi-leveled dining experience was fascinating, especially the secret underground section designed to look like a cave. The food was nothing short of spectacular. We savored the pan-seared trout with fennel and orange salad, crispy potatoes with malt vinegar aioli, burnt cabbage with brown butter sauce, and the oyster mushroom katsu sandwich. Each dish was a masterpiece, perfectly executed with bold and subtle flavors that danced on our palates. Cheers to Beautee for the signature Moscow mule as well and to Abby for the personal tour :) Everything was perfect! It s amazing what the crew was putting up out of that kitchen, y all absolutely killed it. Missy s talent and dedication to her craft shone through every aspect of the meal. Her passion and creativity have always inspired me, and seeing her thrive in her own establishment filled me with immense respect and admiration. It was so good to see all of you again. The service was impeccable, enhancing the overall experience. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable, making this extraordinary dining experience accessible to everyone. I can t wait to return and try more food. Missy, you ve outdone yourself, and I couldn t be prouder. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in Toronto!
PRIVATE EVENT I had the honour of working with the lovely LADIES who own and operate this restaurant. I selected this venue on behalf of a client for a private buyout. From contract to execution, they were incredibly passionate with fine attention to detail. Our guests were blown away by the food and service. I highly reccomend this restaurant whether private or a la carte. Congratulations ladies!! Excited to work together more. Thank you Cheers!
Superb ambience, great vibe great food great service. You will definitely see me again.
This place is amazing the ambience is number 1! Food is great as well!
Highly recommend and/ore for your next special occasion - trust the other rave reviews here. I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing customer service I received - huge kudos the team for exceeding my expectations. Will be back soon!! <3
Was excited to check this place out and they did not disappoint. The four of us got the Chefs Picnic and added a couple of the duck confit pies. More than enough food and it was all exceptional.
Love it here
Amazing dining experience, special thanks to our server Dawson! He made our night magical
Great food, fabulous service and amazing ambiance!
Hidden gem downtown. Amazing cocktails, amazing food, and amazing service. If you re on queen street defiantly check this place out .
Great food and drinks. Unrestricted creativity, which is refreshing and welcomed. The team here is friendly and well informed to suggest excellent drink pairings for your food. We had a wonderful experience and will be back for our anniversary (but probably sooner to try The Below Ground course menu).
LOVE Marisa she is amazing!!! Went above and beyond to make my experience amazing!!! Vegetarian options: N/a
Thank you to Abby for making our engagement super special! The ambience of the restaurant was breathtakingly unique and the service was top tier. The tasting menu and the wine pairings were exquisite. Highlights of the tasting menu were the maitake mushroom and the short ribs; some of the best flavours I ve ever tasted. This experience was an absolute dream come true!
This was the most unique experience I ve ever had. The tasting menu with wine pairing in the mine?? Crazy. The food, service, experience was truly top notch. Thank you so much Andre, Nathan, Jonah and Abigail for the best birthday ever.
Came for a bday dinner for my partner, and wow were we blown away! One of the best tasting menu s I have ever had. The phenomenal aesthetic of the mine is incredible. All the dishes were unique and left you wanting more. Special shoutout to our servers/bartenders Andre, Nathan and Jonah for making the night extra special. We felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant.
This place is absolutely amazing , food was amazing, every course and our waiter was great and very attentive, our glasses were never empty! You need to book in advance but definitely worth the wait.
Amazing experience, the staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating for my various allergies. The food is delicious and gorgeous! The drinks are also amazing. I dont drink and this place has actual mixed non-alcoholic drinks. Only slight complaint was that the downstairs area was a little bit too chilly. But otherwise it was an amazing experience. Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate lactose intolerance.
Food: Was exceptional and creative, most dishes and drinks carry out a strong use of herbs/plants in both taste & aesthetics. Service: Strong service, pleasant personalities and good etiquette. Servers had changed through the experience. Atmosphere: Unique and inspiring! I would describe the interior as a Gothic Fairytale. Truly Instagram Worthy! Extra: We dined in the Above (Upstairs dining area) in the late afternoon.
An excellent experience at Above this evening. From the greeting by the hostess, the wonderful cocktails, delicious bites I am excited to soon come back to experince cave. Will soon be a Michelin star resturant and when it does you will be happy to know you tried it first. 10/10 will come back!
Best deviled eggs ever. Parking: Street. Have to get lucky Food : 4/5 |
Incredible decor and ambiance and even more incredible food!!! We ordered a la carte at the above ground and each dish was melting in our mouths! We will come back to try the tasting experience down below. One of my fave new restos in the city! Will be back and be bringing more people!!
We are at this restaurant on Wednesday and we did not have enough food for what we paid! Disappointing to see the quantity of food we received and the sticker shock price tag we had to pay!
Finally had the opportunity to dine at this exquisite restaurant, thanks to a friend who treated me to the full tasting menu experience. Every dish was meticulously crafted, showcasing unique flavors and textures. The chefs ability to elevate simple local ingredients was truly impressive. The attentive and impeccable service added to the overall experience. Without a doubt, this restaurant lives up to the hype and is definitely worth a visit.
The restaurant is such a vibe! From Abbey being the absolute host and setting the stage for our celebration was absolutely amazing. The ambience and the experience was truly everything!
The people, food, and atmosphere was incredible. 10/10 experience, if you re in the area do yourself a favour and get the crispy potatoes. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!
We booked the lower ground for a private corporate event. Honestly, everyone was floored by the ambience and interior design with a cave motif. D and the rest of her team were amazing for taking care of us for the night. 10/10 recommend and would definitely come back again to enjoy this experience.
We celebrated my moms birthday here (upstairs) and it was such a lovely experience. We had the picnic menu, and it was a collection of incredible dishes. Top choices were the trout, the potatoes and dont miss the deserts. The staff brought our a birthday celebration for her to top things off - well be back!
Went for my birthday Our server Nathan was THE BESTTTTTTT OMG Food
Love the decor .Cass was unbelievable great . Love small bits
The ambiance and drinks were amazing! The portions were really small though- I think the prices were too high for how much you get. The food is tasty though.
I cannot say enough good things about this spot. My wife and I sat downstairs and did the tasting menu which was $150 a person and well worth it. 8 courses of phenomenal flavours and textures. We were blown away , thank you to chef missy hui and our servers/ hosts who were also amazing. This place blows canoe out of the water.
Absolutely incredible atmosphere, food and drinks are 10/10. The mushroom sandwich was so good we ordered it twice. Special thanks to André at the bar for making our experience truly memorable with great service and thoughtful touches throughout the evening. Would definitely recommend, I ll be back!
Ive walked by this place 100x and didnt know that an insane restaurant was hiding in plain sight. Booked a return visit to eat in the cave.
We sat upstairs and we had an amazing experience with LU! Wine curated was spectacular and the house red wine is hands down the best house wine I ve had. Food and snacks were detailed and beautifully plated. Also delicious!!! I was FULL which is rare in a tapas environment . Koodos to our server , wine curator and chef !
Best dining experience in a long time. Excellent food and specialty cocktails.
My friend s birthday was a blast! Great food and atmosphere
Perfect bday spot for friends. The interior was 100. And Abby and Neil were theee absolute kindest. And the food? Just go try it. Will come back here for tasting. Thanks And/ore
Amazing food, drinks and overall experience. Definitely planning on going back for more!
The ambiance, cocktails and service were excellent! Our server was William and he was so attentive and friendly and made the experience exceptional!
Loved the dining experience here! Decor was amazing! Could look at it all day, very mesmerizing! Our server Nathan was amazing, very knowledgeable. We had a great time! When looking for a place to dine add this place to your list! Definitely coming back!
At first we d like to try tasting menu underground but it was fully booked, and we finally sit above. The seat was great and we both like appetizers and desserts. The only I don t like is lamb, too fat and hard.
WOW... they deserve more than a 5 Star.,, in each catagory,, amazing .. amazing.. amazing.. Magical dining experience.. the service was Incredible.. (Nathan was one of our servers he was beyond perfect.)..we were a group of 5 and ordered the chef menu.. we sampled so much incredible food.. and the details in each alcoholic and mock drinks were so fancy almost to pretty to drink.. cheers to the bar staff.... this place will not disappoint.. and a big Shout out to Kailey the house manager.. Love to you and this beautiful experience this past weekend. April 6/2024
Another fabulous meal at Andore. My new favourite restaurant. Took my Mom to the above ground for her birthday. She loved the space, the attentive service and delicious food. Perfect restaurant for Moms! Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible
Tasting menu was superb. Service impeccable. Cocktails were creative and tasty. Very reasonably priced for a tasting menu in Toronto. Great ambience and some cool menu options. Highly recommend.
Food was mediocre at best. Service needs work. Ate downstairs and wasnt impressed with the decor, food, service. Drastically overpriced for the quality. Vegetarian options: They made accommodations in the tasting menu for a vegetarian diet. Often the substitutions were unimaginative and didnt work well with the dish.
I have never left a review online before but this place was outstanding and wanted to share. The house old fashioned was really cool and very tasty. The garnish is a piece of cotton candy you stir into the drink rather than a sugar cube. We sat on the main floor and had the a la carte menu. Shrimp cocktail and devilled eggs to start. For mains we shared the ribs, steak and potatoes. Dessert, the pumpkin panna cotta. Every dish was fantastic and the presentation was beautiful. We will definitely be back to try the tasting menu downstairs.
Great restaurant
Delicious and unique menu, signature cocktails & tailored, fun service - a repeat for sure!!
Special evening celebrating a birthday and we were spoiled! Thank you!!
Had a wonderful birthday dinner for a friend - elegant feel, great service and delicious food!
Such a beautiful restaurant, very cute aesthetic. Cocktails were great, and there was excellent showmanship in their crafting. Neil was an absolute gem and helped us with an impromptu photo session in the lounge area of the resto.
Had an amazing girls dinner here and it was an incredible and delicious experience start to finish. There s also a full cave downstairs - I need to go back again and sit down there
Really nice new place with a good menu. We had the Chefs Picnic which had a good selection of foods and GF options. All the dishes weve had here are awesome. This place gets better and better.
First off, beautiful restaurant, good atmosphere and vibe. Unfortunately thats where the compliments end. Food fell short, especially for the price. Everything was ...okay. Notably disappointing was the mushroom Katsu that was both underwhelming and lacking in flavour. To top off the night, the price they charged us for the meal was different from the prices listed on the menu and they only made a partial correction after it was pointed out.
Got to talk to Abby, one of the owners. She was incredibly nice. We were the last ones at the venue but she took the time to show us around and the decore, which we were interested in. Food was great! Place looks spectacular.
And/Ore below ground (cave) tasting menu is a unique dining experience that brings you through 6 moments (courses) with an excellent wine pairing option. All the wines were from different countries, and complemented the courses very well. Each course was delicious, plated beautifully in their own way and served with perfect timing. I loved the surprise of not knowing what was coming next. There is such a variety of tastes (especially the sauces accompanying the dishes) many of them are sure to suit your personal preferences. Give yourself time to enjoy this (approximately 3 hours). The ambience was really intimate as we sat further in the cave, which was lovely. The service from Abby and her team was professional and attentive. Add this restaurant to your list if you enjoy fine decor, incredible hospitality, and superb cuisine.
I recently dined at this restaurant and was absolutely impressed by the excellent food they offer. We were upstairs with the regular menu and every dish was so tasty but the devilled eggs were a true standout, with delicious flavours and perfect presentation. What truly made my dining experience exceptional was the service provided by Victoria. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our dietary restrictions did not impede on our dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, and thank you again Victoria!
This is one of the restaurants where you dont know if youre walking into the right one because theres no name in the front. It has a dark ambiance and chill vibe. Theyre known for the cave structure in the bsmt but we wanted to see if their food is good first before paying for the set dinner. The confit duck puff pastry was really good and the lamb ribs were seasoned well. Their famous potatoes were not bad, think it could use a different sauce. The Panna cotta was good but too runny. The cocktails were probably the biggest disappointment. They had classic cocktails and a twist to their classic cocktails. I ordered the paper plane and it wasnt anything special. My friend ordered the Caesar and he wasnt pleased with it either. Overall the service was great but the food and drinks were just ok aside from the couple of dishes that were good.
