Came here for afternoon tea and was served by lovely MARSENA! She is amazing! I would love to come back and be served by her. She was beyond patience with my friends and me and was more than willing to take photos of our group. She was knowledgeable of the tea and was superb at explaining what was being served. What a lovely experience. Thank you Marsena!
Nice food, but not satisfied with service. When I visited here 1 month ago, and ordered lobster and shrimp pasta, and I became a seafood lover. So revisited today, and ordered "lobster" and shrimp linguine pasta also, but there was no lobster as like picture.. First picture is for my first visited pasta, second one is for today's pasta. When I told to server about it, he said, "chef said pieces of lobster are inside the sauce, but I will prepare more lobster". More lobster??? Hey, I didn't get lobster even one piece. I really like this taste with cocktails..but I don't wanna come here anymore..bye...
English afternoon tea at St. Regis hotel Astor lounge is a quite nice and cool experience. $ca 95 for each person and got to make reservation one day earlier. As a matter of fact, it’s worth, and it does provide good quality food, nice service, and cozy environment. We’d like to go back again
I brought a friend here for afternoon tea as I was staying at the hotel, and it was such a great experience. First, I’m diabetic, so I sent a note saying that I would need a box for my friend to take home all of the desserts. They surprise me by making all of this weeks sugar free using sugar alternatives and even gave me the recipe for their amazing scones. The ambiance was just perfect, great choice of music, which sounded like Billie Holiday, not too loud that you can actually really catch up with the person you’re seeing. Magical overall experience and I’m about to dig into the extra scones they gave me. The price is totally fair.
The Valentine’s day high tea was absolutely TO DIE FOR! I highly recommend the heavenly cream tea, it was the perfect blend! The scones reminded me of shortbread cookies in the best way - soooo buttery! My favourites were the wagyu beef for savoury, and the strawberry verrine for sweet - but everything was absolute delicious! The vibe was also very refined yet relaxed. I worked for a few hours after at the bar and felt completely at ease. Also the service was amazing and everyone was so kind! 10/10
Service was phenomenal. Went here for afternoon tea with a large group of friends for a bachelor and the staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. Tristan, and the other staff went above and beyond. The chairs, sofas and tables were rearranged to accommodate us all, but due to the shape of the table (small round), it was a little small to hold all the tea pots, plates and food but otherwise a perfect afternoon get together.
It’s a one star based solely on the high tea experience I had here. It was booked months in advance. When we arrived , we were seated and given menus relatively quickly but things went downhill shortly after . It took 30 minutes to get our tea and BURNT scones … I couldn’t even finish them. Another 30 minutes had then passed since and we still had not gotten our food. Also in that time, nobody came to refill our water or offer us more hot water for our tea. All other tables had been served at this point as well. At the hour and 15 minute mark , we made eyes with someone at the bar. She then came over and said “there was a personal matter in the kitchen so our food would be delayed” and failed to offer us anything for delay. There was no initiative either to let us know that there was going to be a delay. We asked just to pay for the tea and burnt scones and forget the meal. She brought the manager out who was reluctant to do this for us and kept pushing us to wait for our food . Finally he agreed to get us the bill and we still had to pay $40 for tea and mini burnt scones, without any offer to compensate us for our time or horrible experience. I’ve done many high teas and this was the worst experience by far. It is also the most expensive one so I had higher expectations than this. I would never book this again. If anyone is looking for a great high tea experience in Toronto, I would strongly recommend the one at Casa Loma when they offer it .
Located inside the St Regis hotel, Astor Lounge offers afternoon tea in their modern yet elegant lounge space. --- 🫖𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐚 $𝟕𝟕/𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 Toronto's afternoon tea has always been rather disappointing for me but thankfully this set was one of the more enjoyable afternoon teas I’ve had. You are first introduced to a fine selection of Sloane Tea samples where you can smell bottles of tea leaves and pick the one you wish to drink. The overall presentation was beautiful but with the limited space available, there was no room for the plate ware and cutlery... They had to put the tea set on a stool, which made it quite difficult to eat. Nonetheless, I very much enjoyed the canapés and desserts—especially the dill cucumber sandwich and baked peach panna cotta.
Nice place for a small gatering , the food and the service was great.
Have to say always a fantastic experience !! Thanks. Food : 4/5
Great afternoon tea experience. Waiters are very friendly and responsible.
Top notch in every detail. We LOVE ST REGIS!
I thought the food and service was very good - the tea and thoughtfulness of the service as a whole I found to be excellent a lot better than the Shang in terms of tea and tastiness.
Best high tea in the city...
Good environment to hang out with your loved ones. You should provide more clarity while booking that we need to put in a note about our dietary restrictions. Due to this, we were limited to very few options during our time at the restaurant and this is visible in the picture attached to this review. Ive had better hi teas before, but this was just not for us. We couldnt even finish the repeat options we were given as we are vegetarians and non alcoholic. While we were having our tea, the server came in the middle of nowhere asking for payment. The main point of hi tea is to have conversation and this guy comes in and interrupts our conversation to make payment. One more let down. Im sure you can do better!
We went there to hangout with our family to experience the hi tea party menu. It was alright. But the service was excellent !! The server was totally dedicated to our table, knew what we needed at the right time, it was mind-blowing.
Afternoon tea snacks are generous and filling. Desserts have too much chocolate and are a bit too sweet.
Very nice place for afternoon tea gathering
Beautiful lobby but the holiday tea leaves a lot to be desired for the price. The food and desserts were MEH. Sometimes simpler is better. The focus should be on taste not just show. Would recommend another venue for high tea.
Loved it
Beautiful setting and service with a special thanks to Andrew. We look forward to joining you again.
Stopped in for after work drinks. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Drink prices typical for financial district.
Went for high tea, way too overpriced for what it offers. Scones and service was good, otherwise tea and food wasnt great probably something you can put together at home.
It was absolutely an experience to remember. I went for my birthday, and Annie was extremely helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. She gave us great recommendations, and made it an afternoon to remember. The ambience, quality of food, and presentation exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend for special occasions, professional meetings or a relaxing afternoon with great company.
Taste bad the service is very good, and the environment is good! But the food afternoon tea is too disappointing we will never go again
Beautiful place for a relaxing afternoon. At least for me. Professional and nice service. Nice atmosphere.
Tea selection on menu is very basic-- compared to other high teas in toronto (Windsor Arms the Fairmont) the teas here are not worth the price- can get all of them at a local grocery store. Further the service is terrible- rude staff, mixed up medical dietary restrictions. Our group was disappointed with the tone and overall service. Only a few of the items in the tower are tasty! Overall- had a very poor experience and and not worht the $95/person price. Better try fairmont or windsor arms for a better high tea experience.
The worse experience in my entire life for a high end hotel. I honestly cannot believe how hostile the hostess was towards me during my visit. I simply asked her if a certain item was available since it was in the photo in the node app that was sent by the hotel s PR to me. She snapped at me and shrugged her shoulders to belittle me by saying we have a lot of photos with a face mocking me. Then she argued with me saying I don t trust her. There s nothing wrong with me being the client and wanting to clarify something. She was very unapologetic and not professional with how she dealt with this situation. I will never be back again to be belittled and mistreated by such a so called high end hotel lounge.
4.5/5 Went for the afternoon tea at the Astor Lounge recently. At $95/person, it s on the higher end for the city, but I felt like the value was there. They were accommodating of dietary restrictions. We got to smell the teas before choosing one, which was a nice touch. Tea selection was average. The St. Lawrence Market parmesan scones were SO good. We had to wait an hour before the tower/main food arrived, but once we spoke to a manager about it, it was rectified quickly and we were offered some free bubbly. My favorite savory bites were the Kensington Market chicken taco and Chinatown West pork belly bao. There is a dining limit of two hours, even though we had to wait for our food, so I didn t get to try many of the desserts (gave them to my friend to take home), but my friend said the Chinatown East raspberry lychee tart was excellent. Portions were good, and I recommend sitting by the little secluded area near the window in the back. Overall a solid experience.
We did the high tea at Astor lounge on a Saturday evening. Although the space is beautiful and the presentation for food was lovely, the service was mediocre and the food portions and taste were unsatisfactory. The seating arrangement also was not comfortable. Not the greatest value for price, but a decent experience nonetheless.
Went here today to celebrate Mother s Day. I booked this 2 months in advance and was looking forward to having high tea with my mom and celebrating Mother s Day with her. Seeking st Regis is a 5 start renowned hotel you d hope for great service and delicious food however it was the opposite. The customer service was absurd with many people serving and not remembering what we asked for. Spending 95 per person is way overpriced for a high tea like this. I don t mind spending the money whatsoever but for the quality of food tasting like a week old is ridiculous! The focaccia on the mozzarella tasted like a week old bread and tasted so stale. The bao bun had a thin slice of pork for such a big bao bun. I understand it s Mother s Day and kitchens can be busy but food should be of high quality as it s what you pay for. For a hotel of such food should be prepared on the same day. Skip this high tea and go somewhere else because it s far from good. Shangri La is much better than this poor quality food. It was disappointing for Mother s Day weekend.
Food was made nicely . Tea was ok, not spectacular. The one thing most unimpressive was the service, not attentive at all, we asked for more butter and it never came, and took a while to get our check. For $95 pp, I won t return
I was fortunate enough to be invited to tea and what a lovely experience. The ambiance and setting were peaceful and luxurious. The food was tasty and frankly, many things i have not had before, so that was an added plus to the adventure. The staff. The best of the entire experience! Seriously great! Oh. The tea was delicious and many options.
Lunar new year afternoon tea was delicious. The desserts were perfect. The flavors and textures were spot on. The flavors had Asian inspiration but the presentation was more valentines. It comes with free glass of champagne. The sencha tea I had was medium grade..I could tell by the color and scent. Service was good. The plates were a bit too small but cutlery were dinner ware so was kinda weird to cut things. I suggest smaller tea spoon, butter knife etc or bigger plates. The platter has a modern rectangle shape and the sweet and savory were mixed. I suggest putting all sweets on one tier and savory on another. It was hard to reach and maybe have small serving tongues. We dropped a few things. Also, clear out used cutlery and plates so the table is neat and provide more cutlery. Our server was very nice and provided them but it should be more of a common practice. One minor note, the delicious SMOKED DUCK ON BRIOCHE was placed on top tier and the honey was dripping on the other stuff. Better to have it at the bottom tier. Overall, amazing food, service and worth the price. Even though, its all small bites you will be full.
Myself & two of my girlfriends had high tea at the Astor Lounge on a Saturday afternoon. We ve been for high tea at several other places before, however what set the Astor Lounge apart was their incredible customer service. I had mentioned when booking that I have an allergy, and they went above & beyond accommodating this. When we arrived, we mentioned my friends also had some dietary restrictions and they accommodated this extremely gracefully. The lounge is beautiful and modern, the tea and food was delicious and the staff were amazing. This will definitely be our new place!
We have been here a few times and loved the drinks/atmosphere! It truly is a relaxing and memorable experience. We tried coming on a Sunday afternoon (on Google, it was stated they are open). When we walked in, it was closed The staff said they are closed on Sunday s. I find it disappointing they a five star hotel has their main cocktail lounge closed and is not updated on Google.
We had a spectacular time with our server Jordan and Andrew the manager was so kind. I hope to see them both again when I come back with my colleagues. The food is delicious. The tea is local and everything is extremely well present. Every detail has been addressed. Looking forward to returning.
This is a long overdue post. I had my bachelorette at Astor Lounge on September 24th. The staff went above and beyond. We had a large group (I think about 17). My friends had a wonderful time. Big shout out to Tristan who took my DSLR (asking of course) to take photos of the day. He even took out a chair for me while we posed in front of the floral St. Regis display by the elevators. And he created my latte portrait. My friends adored him! Seriously the best service we ever had. Will definitely go back for a special occassion.
A lot of the reviews are accurate in describing this lounge and the high tea experience. Both and good and the bad are true. The atmosphere is nice but the service is slow and they are not overly attentive. The teas are amazing and the treats were beautiful. I ordered food off the room service menu because I m vegan and I wasn t able to eat the treats, and to be honest the food was not that good, nor was it warm! Anyways it s a nice place but be prepared to wait a bit.
We had such a lovely time! The staff were wonderful and attentive. The taste of the food with the afternoon tea was delicious (especially the savoury). Lots of variety, too. Of course, we ordered extra Prosecco and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Top notch! Go for the 5pm sabering of the champagne!
I had the privilege of visiting the Astor Lounge for Afternoon Tea, only a few weeks since the bar began hosting it. The newly transformed lobby of the St. Regis is spectacular, marking a welcome departure from the dark, gaudy interior of the Trump Hotel days. The Lounge offers a full selection of Sloane teas, including one custom-made to pay homage to the storied Astor history. Though the Lounges offerings of teas are tried and true, perhaps among the Lounges defining features is its selection of Estate Reserve teas, which encompass several rare and celebrated teas. During my visit, I opted for the 2001 vintage oak-barrel aged Pu-erh tea, an extraordinary tea made more enjoyable at each infusion. Our hostess, Andrea, was extremely knowledgeable about every tea offered, and her exceptional hospitality and service made Afternoon Tea one-of-a-kind. I look forward to visiting again in the near future.
A luxuriant, yet casual, bar-lounge for those who want a splash of opulence. If the pricey wine list isnt in the budget, they have friendlier-priced options by way of vino by the glass, beer, and cocktails. I went for the $85 bottle of cava, which was super-dry (which I prefer). Take advantage of the post-6PM valet service - its only a few more dollars than underground parking in the area. From the valet to the doorman, to the coat check/concierge, to the waitress, service was, for the most part, excellent. Reduced marks for an uninspired snack menu (and a bit TOO limited, imho, and also, a flurry of typos, which I found surprising), and slower than expected service (to be fair, there was only two on the lounge floor while it was a full-house). Admittedly, I am going to be a bit more critical, considering the venue.
