Amazing food and excellent service. Atmosphere is perfect. Great for a date or a nicer family outing.

Place is nice. 4 floors, nice decor. Reggaeton during dinner doesnt suit the space. Both waiters were lovely. Found the 4th floor door person to be either stressed or snobbish, or both. Washrooms didnt have towels to dry your hands. Mojito was mediocre, and the Papi Colado wasnt good. Neither of them are worth more than whatever the alcohol cost. The duck dish, didnt not taste of duck. It was essentially a stirfry. Tasted fine, not worth more than $12 at any good takeout spot. Good size portion. The chicken dish wasnt good enough. I lost interest after a few bites. Throwing 4 mini potatoes roasted and barely seasoned, is what I serve on a rushed Wednesday dinner at home. The saving grace, accounting for 1 of the 2 food stars was the desert, toffee pudding. Yummy. Seriously good. $185 for takeout rice, Swiss Chalet style chicken, rushed resort drinks and a perfectly executed bread pudding.

We are repeat customers of Baro Restaurant and usually love the experience. Today, we went for brunch and heard about a coffee party happening on the rooftop. Naturally, we were curious and wanted to visit the rooftop to soak in the atmosphere. However, we were told we had to wait outside to go up, despite already being in the restaurant. We ve always felt that Baro offers something special for its loyal customers, especially for events that aren t too exclusive. Interestingly, if we hadn t asked, we could have easily taken the elevator to the rooftop without any issue. What made the situation worse was the behavior of one of the staff members, who seemed to be working as security. He was incredibly rude, which was shocking and completely out of line with the high-quality service we ve come to expect from Baro. Baro has always been a place we love and feel at home in, but today s experience felt unprofessional and disappointing. We hope the management addresses this issue so the service matches the excellent reputation of the restaurant.

Food is good, but really different what I expected, I ask for tuna ceviche and it looks more like a tuna tartar for me. Good sauce, but still not what you have in mind.

Food was great but the patatas bravas didnt come with the Salsa brava which is the main and key part of the dish.

Great vibe and excellent service. Latino Asian fusion food and highly recommend.

Very nice place, great music. Appetizers were fantastic but the duck was a bit of a let down: its mostly rice. Vegetarian options: Yes

Service was great;however, the food was not excellent. The calamari was tough and the jackfruit empanada (filing) was very sour the flavor profile of the dishes we tried were just too much on the pickled taste side.

Unfortunately the food I ordered I felt was very average for what you are paying for the Lamb and hummus was ok .. I think the best part of our meal was the cassava frites (but those are basically fries so you can t go wrong). Entertainment was good and liked how they got the patrons engaged. Our server Gabriella was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I just felt the food was a bit of a miss for me. Possibly ordering a different meal on the menu may have been better (the half chicken the table beside us ordered looked good).

The Pallo Asado is AMAZING. As someone who is picky about chicken and seasoning this was one the best servings of chicken I ve had from any restaurant. Good staff. Great vibes. Would recommend for a date night or even an outing with friends!

No happy hour

Had the tuna ceviche and the 20oz strip loin with broccolini side. Would order the ceviche again but beware you need to order a side of chips for the app as an add on which i dont agree with. The steak arrived to the table cold and late; we would have given it back if it wasnt for the fact that we were so hungry and needed to be somewhere. For $120 thats not good. Drinks: Had the clarified pina coloada and I would have that again. Would I come back ? Maybe. Also, service was slooooow

Our dinner cost about $100 per person (tips not included), with five beers and one cocktail (4 people). It was a pleasant experience, but I believe the value could be improved. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was exceptional, especially from our server. We started with the tuna ceviche, which was delicious, and the guacamole, which was good but small portion. We had the Big Ass Board, which was okay. Overall, the portion sizes were small, especially considering the high prices, and there wasn t enough food.

The food was really good and unique but the restaurant gave me good vibe but it was not more than I expected

The food was really bland. Had the lamb barbacoa tacos, the meat was quite dry and tasteless, the salsa verde was meh, and not many other toppings. Other than that we hade the tuna ceviche which was probably the best thing we had here, grand mac empanadas that tasted like mcdonalds( maybe should ve known ), and the og duck chaufa which was ok but really nothing special. The service made you feel they are on a rush and need you to leave as soon as possible, which is I guess normal in Canada and US, but I ve seen places here not like that. Overall for the price point it was really disappointing.

My wife and I dined at Baro and the restaurant was simply incredible! Great service from our server (Amy) as she was attentive and helpful with our dining options. We started off with Grilled Calamari, Brussel sprouts (amazing) and roasted chicken. The atmosphere was everything we were looking for and so happy with our choice of dining here. Highly recommend!!

Normally I would give Baro a 5 as I ve been for food previously and always enjoyed it. However the brunch was lacklustre, the shakshuka was watery and tasted like tinned tomatoes and the meat and eggs dish my partner got was also ok but nothing special. There was something missing to bring the flavours together. It s disappointing as normally the items on their menu are unique and offer something different. The waiter never checked in with us either to see if we were happy. Unfortunately, I wouldn t recommend brunch here even though I d love to.

My first time visiting tonight I ve heard many good things, I came for my birthday with a few friends, 1 thing that I noticed INSTANTLY as soon as I walked in the door is the customer service, everyone who worked there greeted us with a genuine smile and everyone was so sweet and hospitable. Our server tonight was AMALIYA and she was the sweetest most darling beautiful woman ever. We felt so special, so welcomed, the food was delicious the drinks and live music were amazing. The whole atmosphere and vibe was so amazing and it was such an experience we cannot wait to come back and are already planning our return. Thank you so much for making my birthday special!!!

Been here 4 times now just for the duck fried rice (big portion, crispy rice, little bit of spice) and burger empanadas (literally tastes like a high quality big mac) Both these dishes taste amazing or even better every time!

We went for brunch and it was disappointing. There was one dish that was really good it was like a braised beef but everything else was not great. The guacamole and salsa had so much Cilantro you couldnt take anything else. For the price it really wasnt worth it.

The Tropic Thunder cocktail was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced - sweet, spicy and citrusy. Cassava fries were a pleasing texture on the outside but too thick for my liking. The cheese dip was like crack, though! Lovely tuna ceviche with coconut milk sauce. It is not a ceviche that Im used to in that the fish was not cured at all by the acid. Nice all the same. I also loved the big Mac empanadas, which are true to their description! I had the duck main, which for me was a miss. Despite all the ingredients, I couldnt discern much difference between each mouthful. There was something missing for me - whether it was acid or something creamy, Im not sure. Overall a very nice meal. It was $242 without tip for 4 appetizers, 1 main and 3 drinks. Pricey!

Cocktails are large, but not tasty

The staff in general were very nice but our server kept vanishing. It wasn t even a busy evening. It took forever to get our drinks and food. The guac portion was so incredibly small for the entire group it was laughable. At the end, the server did not provide our bills and just gave us the machine to pay. When we asked for our bills because we wanted to see what we were paying for, he said that he can print the bills after we pay. We were so confused. I certainly hope that s not their typical business practice because that s shady and weird. Will not be returning.

Fantastic cocktails!

Not recommended for dinner. Had the big ass plate for $285+$12, I got a steak, a few lamb skewers, 5 chicken drum sticks, 3 shrimps and some burnt broccoli. Steak was okay, everything else was burned and dry and the sauces weren t even good (which I was charged $12 extra for, as our waitress recommended that we can try all three sauces for the steak without telling us it costs extra, $12 for 2 extra sauce?) I cannot recommend any of the food item.

Baro is always such a great dinning experience ! The food and drinks were delicious, every order you can tell is made with passion and care - very presentable and eye appealing. The ambiance of the main dinning area is a great mix between intimate, cozy, and simply aesthetically pleasing. Baro brings out the latin culture beautifully in every way. We were a big group celebrating a birthday and an engagement; I had the pleasure of connecting with Mackenzie Mathieson, the reservation coordinator, and Stephanie Barter, the reservation manager, who provided me with detailed information, prompt responses and assistance with the group reservation, especially with the beautiful gestures for the guest of honour she got from start to finish which was a total surprise to all of us! The staff were super attentive and provided great service.

The quality of the food and the overall experience made it worthwhile

I came with my partner to celebrate a hard-fought achievement of his during a short stay in the city. We are not regulars or known by anyone but the staff - from hostesses to our AMAZING server - treated us with such care and kindness. They made what I hoped to be a special night exceptional. I don t go out much anymore because of cost of living combined with what I perceive to be a decline in the hospitality aspect of the hospitality industry. Last night revived my belief that excellent FOH staff still exists and a cool atmosphere doesn t have to come at cost of great food. (The swordfish & slaw, as well as the South American special were both big hits with us). Our server, Hailey, made our night. She recommended great dishes/drinks and facilitated a celebratory atmosphere . I am so grateful to her and the Baro team for helping me make this moment memorable. Thanks again for allowing us to mark this occasion with joy, ease and the best memories.

Came here with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our meal and time here. Interior had a nice dim lighting to enjoy the atmosphere and the food was also splendid. Their taco s were amazing and I can still feel the distinct flavours of all the dishes here. Also can t be skipping my Bogotá Sour cocktail here : ) Cute lil palm tree with an exquisite texture. Recommend coming here for a memorable night ~

We used the event space on the 2nd floor, and the staff was able to help us deliver a beautiful wedding that had a last-minute venue change within about 3 hours. The staff was warm and helpful, and a special shout-out to Greg the manager!

Came here Sunday night on the rooftop for a late dinner and drinks. The food is on the pricer side but definitely worth it. Everything tasted amazing and drinks were well made. Our favourite appetizer was the grande Mac empanada. Music was a great vibe as well. Would definitely recommend and return here.

This was the second time here, very disappointing. Absolutely no service, we saw our waiter twice, even someone else took our food order after seating there for one hour and no one attending, and we started to walk ourselves around and ask for a service. Our cocktails did not have any alcohol in it, when asked one of staff they tried to justify but your body would understand if this is a syrup only or you are having an alcoholic drink! This has been raised by multiple other reviewers. Our food also came very salty, very small portion, very late, and for a group of four half an hour apart!

A very chic place, perfect for a date night. Friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. He menu is on the pricy side but the quality is great. The lamb was absolutely delicious. They bring you fresh taco bread and you make your own wrap. Delicious. Food

Baro surprised me with their low food quality and terrible service at the same time. When we entered the restaurant, the lady at front told us that now it s six thirty and you have to leave in an hour and a half due to another customer booked your table. I booked my table months early and I can only sit at my table for 1.5 hours. When we tried to order dessert, it was already an hour and a half. We had to give up dessert and more wine just to leave because we are too worried about other customers coming in and take away our seat from us. This is ridiculous as a Latin American restaurant which makes customers feel like they are rushed and timed all the time while we are eating. The food is another huge disappointment, four oysters with tomato, corn and onions on top was 29 dollars without tax. This pricing is really off. I am not simply complaining about the pricing but also the taste. It was really bad. It was not fresh oyster at all and we had to say it s okay to our waiter. The duck fried rice was even worse, dry, salty and makes people drink tons of water to survive. I really don t think this restaurant represent any Latin American food since I have been to some Latin American countries and had their food. It was amazing. I feel like people mainly come to this place to be disappointed. Latin American culture is warm and passionate, welcoming and friendly. I don t feel welcomed at all. Terrible experience.

The Rooftop Patio is a tropical oasis with ornamental furnishings and a live DJ. Ordered the Baro CGS ($16) and Charred Jalapeño Hummus ($19) which were both tasty and great for sharing. Menu items which aren t tapas/apps are quite expensive ($30+).

Came in from Vancouver and we had a wonderful evening at Baro. Our server was thoughtful and really guided us through the evening, the manager was lovely, the drinks were creative and the food was fresh and tasty. I can t wait to come back when i m in town again.

Celebrated my birthday here with 6 people. Been to other establishments on king. You would think this place would be bad with horrible servers. This is by far the best service in any restaurant I ve been to in a while. The food and drinks were excellent.

The place we went to for dinner was extremely lively, pleasant and enjoyable. The starters we ate were very delicious, the combination of tomatoes and watermelon in the tomato salad was successful. In the main course, the Rib meat seasoning was very well cooked, but the meat was very angry..

Great rooftop patio and amazing food

Quick meal and drinks before a concert. We reserved the rooftop. It was clean, smelled great and gave a cozy feel. The servers were friendly, fast and efficient. We shared the Pulpo Al Chile Ancho, Ceviche and pupusas. Everything was fresh and had lots of flavour except the pupusa, they were dry and tasted almost burnt. (Not sure what happened there) The lychee martinis were so delicious, I definitely had a few of those! I personally don t think the food was worth the price, as I have had mouth watering pupusas for $4 vs $19 for dry, burnt ones BUT the atmosphere definitely made up for it.

Food is good but if you are looking for ambiance, patio is facing a condo construction and not much of a view. Recommend sitting inside.

Avoid going here! We went here last night for my birthday. Even though the food and atmosphere were good, our waitress made my experience terrible. When the bill came, she added a 28% tip without our consent! We received no receipt either. Why should we have to pay a 28% tip without agreeing to it? It was only my friend and I! She didn t explain the menu and told us items were unavailable after we tried to order. I had to ask twice for cutlery with our dessert. Unacceptable service!

I had the pleasure of dining at Baro for brunch with a friend. We were served by the lovely Charlotte, her service was fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect, the food and drinks were wonderful, even the weather was perfect! Would definitely recommend and return again!

I paid $45 for 3 pieces of mediocre shrimp, no side, no rice or vegetables just 3 damn shrimp for $45, I had to go to McDonald s after because I was so hungry, it was my birthday too :( my other friend got lamb and it was 5 tiny skewers of dog food looking lamb pieces served on a side plate. Pretty atmosphere and views but tiny tiny portions and slow service I dont recommend (I m so hungry)

Im a regular at Baro, especially for the Pablo Snack House happy hour I love that it goes until 7, unlike most places that end at 5. The vibes are always chill and the service is consistently good. Its usually bustling, but there are rare occasions when its pretty quiet. The mojito and another drink that I cant quite remember the name of are my go-to choices here. Oysters are a must well-priced and tasty. The mushroom tostada was honestly SO fire. Im typically hesitant with mushrooms, but this was so good. And I cant forget about the hummus; Im not sure if its made in-house, but its delicious, and I love that we can get as much bread on the side as we want. Overall, I love coming to Baro and will keep coming back as long as they keep their happy hour going!

Lovely patio area, great cocktail and truffle pairing menu, and the staff were so kind (I think her name was Maddy!), made it a very special evening for our wedding anniversary.

Decided to give this place a try and unfortunately was extremely disappointed. Let me start by saying the staff were excellent. However, the food was done without thought or attention to detail. Tomato salad was mostly watermelon and hardly any tomatoes. The ceviche we sent back as it was not seasoned at all....literally no flavor. The broccoli was to be served with the chicken but it came 10 minutes before the chicken and it was hard and lacked seasoning as well. The chicken wasnt bad but by that time we just wanted to go elsewhere. I hope this was just a bad night. A real disappointment.

If you are looking for enchiladas, chilaquiles and authentic Mexican food this is not the place BUT if you are looking for modern Mexican cuisine THIS IS THE PLACE!! Ceviche de atún, hummus with jalapeño and esquite are soooo good! Must try service it s stunning

The patio was cute for brunch with your girlies but the food was not worth the $60, even the iced coffee was watered down so much we couldn t drink it. Good to try it out once but won t be returning

Baro rooftop patio was an uplifting and beautiful experience. My partner and I came here over the weekend and it was delightful. Their drinks are amazing, especially the espresso martini it was so smooth and sweet. The servers were friendly and very nice, they made our experience wonderful. Service was excellent and I d highly recommend for a date night or a girls night out. We ll definitely be back for more!

Good food. Watch out very spicy.

I ate in the rooftop patio so Im not rating the food downstairs as the menu is different. Tomato salad had next to no tomatoes. Mostly watermelon. King fish ceviche had absolutely zero seasoning. The most bland ceviche Ive had ever. Truly bizarre...then I ordered che chicken and ribs with a side of broccoli. We got ribs and those were tasty. Then we got the broccoli on its own. It was hard as a rock. Totally raw and slightly charred on one of the sides. Very hard to eat big pieces of broccoli when not cooked at all. Chicken didnt come until a while after. Felt very disjointed not have the dishes come together. Service was good and music was great but for a dinner out I would not recommend. Waste of money and disappointing.

Great spot, great atmosphere and amazing food. The Duck Chaufa is a must try. Such a unique dish and so delicious. Greta margaritas too!! If you have a sweet tooth the churros were also the perfect ending to an amazing meal! Enjoy. Can t wait to come back.

I booked through open table at 10;15 today, took Uber there in time and two guards told me they decided to close early. I heard this restaurant is good and it s my first time. I took Uber there and I have to Uber back . Waste my time and money. Can t believe restaurant can do this without tell customer earlier. I do have Uber receipts to show that I got there in time.

Went for some cocktails and empanadas. The Big Mac empanadas are incredible. Service provided my Gabriela, Fabio and Jerome was top notch!

Very large Latin restaurant with an inside dining room as well as a beautiful rooftop patio. Note that their patio and dining room have two different menus. I dined at the patio, which has a variety of meats, seafood and some vegetarian dishes. The portions are pretty small, but filling and taste incredible. I personally recommend their lamb skewers, chilli humus and churros. The establishment also has a good selection of wines and cocktails, decently priced. Further, the servers are super knowledgeable with food and drinks, and made amazing recommendations based on our group s taste profile. The restaurant does get busy at peak times, so I recommend making a reservation if possible. Very great atmosphere, flavours and service. Highly recommend checking Baro out. Vegetarian options: A few, small portion, vegetarian options are available.

Arrived at 11PM for drinks on a weekend, luckily the kitchen was still open. Great vibes and food was good. The presentation of the cocktails was unique. Will come back for the rooftop patio next time

Great place with amazing food, s bit pricy, but worth it

Overall experience for our brunch was good! Saw it on titkok- didn t disappoint. Would love to come back for their brunch menu again! I love their glassware lol I wonder where they got it

Came here yesterday with a friend and it was honestly so disappointing. The drink was 30 dollars ( the coconut with passion fruit and rum) and I disliked it so much I needed something else. Thankfully the waitress suggested a wine that was a lot more palatable. Other than our waitress helping us in that aspect, the service was also disappointing. Came upstairs to the hostess completely ignoring us for the first few minutes continuing their conversation before finally diverting their attention to us. The food was bland, boring and unappetizing. Mediocre 20$ guac and salsa, and the 40$ half chicken was PINK inside whilst also having a heavy char on the outside which was really confusing to us. The avocado rice had a good flavour, although the rice was clumped together. Undercooked and left alone to stick together, served on a plate. Let alone the dish had what appeared to be a half gallon of oil poured on top. Lastly- our cherry on top was the delightful little rocks flying from the neighboring construction into our food, mouth and hitting our backs. Do yourselves a favour and dont bother coming here to spend over 100$ on an experience youd be better without.

We had a large group and a great time at Baro. The experience was seamless from first contact to closing the bill, and the group raved about the food. I wish I d gotten the name of our waiter, he was fantastic!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Baro. The service was horrendous, and the food was far from tasty. There were four of us in our group, and they brought the food out one by one with 10-15 minutes between each dish. By the time I was eating, the rest of the table had to watch me, and the last meal arrived 40 minutes after I had finished mine. It was incredibly awkward and ruined the entire dining experience. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We booked way in advance and went to celebrate our anniversary. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. When the food came, my husbands meal was cold. We asked someone for help and again were left waiting over 20 minutes. By then we just wanted to get out of there and paid our bill and left. We were not charged for his meal but left extremely disappointed as we wanted to celebrate an important milestone.

This place was something special. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The only drawback is that they limit you to stay for 1.5 hours only.

We celebrated my partner s birthday here and saying we had an exceptional experience is an understatement! We were a huge group of 9 ppl The customer service was outstanding Sara was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The food was simply delicious, with each dish perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. From the first email I sent out requesting for a reservation until we walked out the door, it was a truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended! Thank you Baro:)

Service was good. The scallops were the best item on the menu - otherwise underwhelming.

The amazing service and atmosphere doesn t make up for the overly mediocre and underwhelming food, unfortunately. The grilled octopus wasn t hot and the milhojas pastry had flavours that didn t seem to mix well together.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone . Firstly received notification via text our table was ready at 8 pm ,our reservation however was for 8:30pm . Lucky I arrived early at 8:20pm . Nevertheless , I was told to wait ? Our table was not ready . Then it just got worse I booked for outside patio however when the hostess took me to our seating it was directly to the very back of a narrow hall way , at the end of a hallway I was seated facing a huge white plastic wall ? A WALL of a new building under CONSTRUCTION !! Basically sitting facing construction. It was ridiculous that the restaurant would even consider seating people facing construction . Worst is Baro patio posted on Instagram , as among top summer patio s to check out in Toronto . This just goes to show do not believe any marketing without merit that you see on social media . This was NOT one of Toronto best patios . Given we had specifically booked for a patio experience , it was truly a disappointment. Furthermore very deceitful of a restaurant to take bookings for a patio seating that is literally 400 square feet and when you arrive only to be seated in a hall way facing construction - which they also refer to as a patio.In the end when I asked to be moved , I was moved beside a speaker, facing another brick wall . However I m told by the hostess not to worry about the speaker it s not on. . In short , the evening was just going from bad to worse.The hostess looked flustered , maybe if you re 20 years old and you just want to get drunk with friends ,this is your place to go. However ,if your looking for a dining experience , professional service and a great summer patio Baro is NOT the place to book for great patio . I would never recommend Baro for patio or great food . It s basic at best . That being said , I just left . I give this place a 2/ 5 FYI I gave it a 2 only because the manager at Baro was professional . I was grateful that he came to speak with me .Nevertheless the damage was done . The manager asked me to wait to be seated for the real patio . The whole seating situation never should have happened. At this stage in life , I do not want to waste my time paying for average food , paying for kids working as servers , and to top it off , get a view facing construction . We all work hard for our money , I ll spend my money where I can enjoy it . I suggest everyone do the same . Sorry Baro , I won t be back .

This place is not what its made out to be at all. Food was the definition of average (especially guac) and portions are incredibly small, however romanced as shareable meanwhile the price is deceiving for just how much you get. Obviously shareable but never enough to ever get you full. Also, atmosphere with construction and everything is quite disappointing. 110 dollars for 2 people with 3 shareables and 2 drinks, and we were still starving after. Our server was amazing though dont get me wrong!

Cocktails were unfortunately overpriced and very monotonous.

Love the music and atmosphere here! We stopped by spontaneously, and our server Mitch kept my girlfriend and me entertained and laughing the whole time!

Its a very overrated restaurant, the prices are too expensive, the portions are too small, we paid $120 dollars and we were never full, the menu was insufficient, it was a bad place experience, I wouldnt recommend it

Fiesta hours deals arent disclosed on their website, but we were disapointed to find upon arrival that their cheapest drink for happy hour starts at 17$

Amazing place to go for drinks and food - we came with a large group and were served by Amy. We had a wonderful time on the rooftop with exceptional service. Would 100% come again!

Love the atmosphere of this place, very organized, they have a nice patio, menu and drinks are awesome. It was kind of expensive, in my opinion, for small quantities of food served.

Wow! This place is fantastic! We had the Tuna Ceviche, the Pulpo, and the Seafood Stew. All were great! For dessert it was the Sticky Toffee cave. Amalie was our server and she was wonderful. Baro has other areas in the see building. We were lucky enough to get a tour of all the areas by Jefferson, one the managers. Thank you Jefferson! We will go back for sure. If you visit Toronto, make time to visit Baro.

Food is incredibly salty, to the point that we didn t eat most of our food, like I ve never had tacos so salty in my life, for the price you pay it s not worth it at all would never go back. However the manager did reimburse us for the tacos and was very nice

This review is specifically for the patio. Perhaps my age will be reflected in this review (I m a few years south of 40) but given the expectation I had for Baro (they have a reputation), I expected much more. The hostess team on both floors were consummate professionals. My issues begin and mostly end with our server. Given that you can easily drop $200 pre-tax on an entree, I like to think that the service would be on par to help make you feel like the food alone is not doing the heavy work of making your visit enjoyable. Alas. The music was loud and her server didn t deign to raise her voice. She also didn t tell me she misheard my order by way of repeating the order back to the table, or even addressing it when I informed the food runner about the mistake. She checked on us once when only half the table received their entrees. On that note, I haven t been to a notable restaurant where mains were served with 10-20 minutes wait between them. By the time one half of our four top were done eating, then the last two were finally delivered. Small but annoying habits included shoving her arm in my face to reach across the table to fill water (without so much of a excuse my reach ), and not informing one of my dining companions that the coke he ordered would actually just be a Pepsi. Small, but easy things to communicate when that s the basis of your job, and when your credit machine auto-suggests an 18% tip. Don t worry, we didn t give her that 18%, or the 15%. Call me crazy, but if you re not even food running, you should try a little harder to get that extra money. The additional two stars I added to service was for how much more professional the food runners were. The food itself was Ok. The hummus was exceptional, but the burger entree was so wet, that after a few bites, the bottom bun disintegrated. I ordered calamari, and it was on the rubbery side. It was a $200 cheque, and in the end, I m not sure I d be willing to pay that again for this kind of experience.

We traveled from Chicago to Toronto to celebrate my husband s birthday and decided to visit Baro. We couldn t be happier with that decision. Since the moment we arrived, the manager took care of us personally and offered free champagne and dessert for me and my husband. The stuff was very nice and I am glad they knew how to handle food allergies and were very familiar with the menu. The food was amazing and very generous. The drinks were delicious too. We will definitely come back!! I wish I had pictures of all the food but it looked so good that we decided to dig in right away. Dietary restrictions: Safe for celiac

This place is a great option for a fun date night or evening with friends in the King West neighbourhood. The food is amazing (the tuna ceviche and lamb barbacoa was unreal) and the atmosphere is fun, upbeat and gives an awesome vibe. Staff was also very friendly with us, which helped to maintain the great atmosphere. Would recommend trying out Baro for sure!

Food was good, nothing jaw dropping, but good. Portion size was good. Service was great. Apparently the rooftop is a good spot, i was just there for brunch and that dining area is normal but nice enough, nothing amazing or special. just normal :) After meal, soft drink, and tip i paid 45 bucks, so i think a fair price.

Our server Michaela was so awesome, she was attentive the whole time even when the restaurant was full, amazing personality, gave great recommendations! The food is pretty good and the vibe (live dj) was pumping!

The food was excellent! Every bite was amazing. (eye roll back moments) The only downside from this visit is where they had sat us, when we were told wed get the a bar seat little did we think it was right in front of the kitchen bar, the heat coming off the kitchen was unbearable at times where I needed to go outside to cool off Our server was sweet and professional but we had to ask her 4 times for my bfs drink. Other than that she was knowledgeable and courteous, she surprised me with a birthday cupcake and a complimentary drink. We will definitely go back, but maybe enjoy the rooftop next time.

Not crazy

If I could give 10 star I would. The food was phenomenal and so tasty and our waitress took the time to explain and provide recommendations. But what made it even more special was the service that was above and beyond any other weve received. We were going to a show after dinner and it was raining. Our waitress and the manager arranged for an Uber to take us so we wouldnt get wet. I couldnt ask for more incredible service than that!! Highly recommend for incredible food, atmosphere and service!

The food is very poor quality and very expensive. The portions are ridiculous small and the drinks do not represent what they are called in the menu. This is one of those places that you get invited once and never go back.

Baro is a hidden gem on King West! The Latin-inspired food is incredible think creative takes on ceviche and mouthwatering hot plates. Dont miss the cocktails, theyre just as amazing. The vibe is trendy with a speakeasy feel, perfect for a fun night out. 5 stars all around!

Mackenzie a reservation coordinator had helped me organize an event and I wanted to express how kind and accommodating she and the team were. Although the event did not end up being located at Baro she was so lovely to work with especially considering other establishments provided a very different experience. I would love to go through planning another event with the Baro team, and would definitely recommend working with them.

Nice place if you are 20-30 age group but as my group was a little older, this place was not what we were looking for.

Average place. Food was okay, just okay. If you are hispanic, take into consideration food is just imitation. So silly they don t have any side dishes, like fries or rice. For example I ordered Pollo a la Brasa and it doesn t come with fries. Service a little slow, and I didn t like how the girls were rushing me to order, but they took a while to give me the bill. It s okay just for going one time in your life.

Staff was friendly & professional; ambience was comfortable. However, the cocktails / food underwhelmed. The Papi Colada tasted watered down; the Big Mac Empanadas were doughy & the Big Mac sauce overpowered the dish. Contrarily, the OG Duck entree lacked flavor complexity (surprising considering the variety of ingredients used) & the rice tasted slightly overcooked.

Def recommended the duck fried rice! It s the best. And great cocktail options. Service was excellent.

Had a reservation here last night at 8PM that I booked weeks ago. I even received a text saying that my table was ready at 7:45PM. My partner and I arrived at 7:52PM to a massive group of people outside, security refusing to let anyone in besides the few women he hand picked from the crowd. He would not even acknowledge anyone else so we did not make it to our reservation. I have been to Baro a few times and always recommended this place to people however after last night, I will not be dining here again.

I recently moved to Toronto and as a Latin girl, my expectations looking for a good Latin place are very picky but the moment I met Jefferson while welcoming to my table I knew I was going to be in right hands. Vibes are AMAZING. The music and my cocktail (coco loco) took me back home!! Can t wait to go back

I absolutely love attention for details. The little pineapple stamp stole my heart. Me and my friend went a quick drink there. It was fun, the service is good. Will be coming back for the patio.

Came here for Mother s Day brunch. As this is more of a dinner and bar type restaurant it was only average in my opinion for a brunch experience. The atmosphere was nice but definitely on the darker side with not too much natural lighting on the inside of the restaurant. Would be good for a night out. The sandwich was good but a little on the salty side. The French toast was also yummy but a little too soft. The flavouring was very good though. There was a good selection of brunch cocktails which was appreciated but I definitely missed having a coffee menu. I was told only drip coffee is available since their machine broke so no lattes unfortunately. I would try to come back for dinner or drinks as they seem to have a good drinks menu. The brunch was not bad but there are probably better options in the area if you are looking for a more traditional brunch experience. Overall, nothing explicitly wrong but also did not impress like I hoped it would.

Good atmosphere, very friendly, and attentive staff. It is recommended that the menu be shared between the group and everyone samples each dish family style. My main concern with the food is how small each dish is portioned. You can easily spend over 100 on food and still leave hungry. The food didnt seem premium enough to justify the price. Each dish was served individually rather than being brought out together. The dishes are designed to complement each other so that experience was lessened. Overall it is a good restaurant and you should check it out. In my opinion, the price to value is just too unbalanced for me to go back. Vegetarian options: Vegan and veggie options available

Came for my birthday dinner with 2 friends. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Food and drinks are on the pricey side, but if youre splitting with friends, its not that bad. My table had an issue with 3 of our drinks and right away the manager came over to make it right.

went early evening on a weekend and while it was fully reserved on OpenTable it wasn t busy at all when we showed up Sun. It s a warm atmosphere albeit a little dim. for the price - small details were off. our table was sticky and the washrooms out of soap. Yes, these are relatively unimportant overall but not when you re paying a premium. The service was outstanding with attentive and friendly staff. And our food was very good, but not amazing. The 3 taco app was tiny for the price and the flavours didn t really stand out. The OG Duck Chaufa on the other hand was delicious and flavourful, but again small details, as it was overcooked at the bottom and sorta clumped up. Drinks were pricy but I found the martinis excellent minus the bland olives that accompanied it. Single shot vodka soda felt overpriced. While we enjoyed trying Baro, I didn t feel the quality and details matched the premium, so unfortunately I wouldn t go back again.

The decor was very chic and cozy. They had unique and delicious cocktails. And the big sharing platter was excellent. The only thing we didnt absolutely enjoy was the guac which was made with cumin. Definitely go on half price wine by the bottle day!

Recently came here and the food was so flavourful. The atmosphere was amazing, creating the perfect dining experience. Shoutout to Ethan, our waiter, who provided exceptional service. He was polite, attentive, and made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Baro for an incredible meal and top-notch service!

An excellent evening at the hands of Baro! Started with incredible cerviche de atun, followed by cassava frites and pollo asado. The coconut sauce on the cerviche was unique and absolutely mouth watering. Had my waiter not been so interactive and helpful (they recommended the cerviche), I would have tried licking the plate clean. Incredible flavour profiles, juicy chicken with fantastically seared skin, creamy fingerling potatos, and charred scallions. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator access to all floors

l came here for my boyfriend s birthday and we were very impressed! Michala took excellent care of us from beginning to end!! She is an asset at Baro and made our visit a memorable one! What a gem. We had brunch here and stayed for about 2 hours. Throughout our meal, we experienced poor service despite seeing hosts and servers moving back and forth, we had to continually make eye contact with anyone passing by.

Our server wasn t well versed with the menu. It s a bit disappointing when they can not explain an item on the menu, numerous times. We made requests for the birthday we were celebrating, the server acknowledged yet did not even bring out anything we asked for. It was not peak dinner hour, for a group our size, I expected a bit more attention to the table. For a venue like Baro, you d expect a higher calibre of service. Ambiance is always on point here, but aesthetics can only take you so far.
