A real OG restaurant amazing food the best ox tail and cows foot i have ever had. Every time I drive down from north bay I stop here to pick up food. I grew up in the area and always went to biggers growing up i am now 45 and still my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Toronto.
5 Star for disrespect this restaurant should be shut down by Health inspector, flies in the kitchen , the “owner” had a dispute with a customer in the parking lot for a Unmarked parking spot that he claimed to be the “stores” . The plaza has no parking maintenance. Worse place To eat . It will run ur stomach . Run away
if i can give it a 0 star i would i ordered a patty and oxtail meal patty had hair on it and the food did not loook like the picture taste was horrible meat was tough would not recommend
WORST food iv ever had in my life, I wish I was exaggerating but literally tasted and smelled like throw up, took one bite had to spit it out and had to throw it out so i dont make myself sick and it was like 16$ Worst food experience of my life.
I have been sick for almost a week and called 4 different spots on my way to work this morning. After no success, I found Bigger and gave them a call. The gentleman was very kind, over the phone and in store. I ordered a large soup, dumpling and beef patty, totalling only $10 even. Everything was delicious, beef in soup was very tender and all flavours were screaming! I made sure to add some of the house pepper sauce to help clear up my sinuses, and honey, i can breathe clearly nowww! The patty has to be one of the flakiest I've had in a very long time, filling did not disappoint. My only complaint would be in regards to the dumpling as it was a bit doughy on the inside. But I know from experience these can be hit or miss especially when making them in large batches. Overall, very happy to have found a new spot close to the office and look forward to trying other options on the menu.
DRY FOOD I ordered An oxtail & was charged at assumption that I wanted The most expensive one on the menu.. when asked why I was Being charged so much the owner said "you never stated which size" obviously a scheme to get as much as he could I brushed It off and went home to find NO MEAT on the bones of the oxtail and what was there was dry. It’s disgusting, I only Really had rice in my container. I called The owner and he said NOTHING No sense of customer resolution. Bad intentions will not take you to good places 🧿
Well I dont know where any of these positive reviews came from, but let me give you my take on this order yesterday $60 worth. orderd large soup Lrg goat white rice Lrg Ackee salt fish provisions So the ackee was sitting in the bed of water upto half of the container. Never seen that before. But let's get to the good part the curry. Not only did it smell a little funny but the texture was over cooked and watery. But but there's more after trying to give this a chance I also almost ate a bottle cap. That was it for me. I just get turned off everything. I love to support local but this you all have to do better. Anyways all of that ended up in the garbage.
This one of the grossest Jamaican food I’ve had. I ordered the oxtail and curried goat. The goat had very weird taste and was very dry, the rice had some crunchy bits inside and the oxtail was very stringy and tough/ hard to chew. I ordered 2 Pattie’s for the road and they were cold and disgusting. I would not recommend.
I received spoiled food from this restaurant today. Smh
Good food and good vibes! The customer service is good and the food is amazing! From fried dumplings to jerk chicken and the ackee!
Best oxtail and reasonably priced
Ive been going here for over ten years. My wife literally craves this guys food. Absolutely amazing stew beef!! Oxtail is one of the best in the city.
Good food and drinks and reasonable prices.
Very pleasant man with great service.
I got the red pea soup and the curry chicken roti and my goodness !! They understood the assignment!
Not good
My boi always has the best yard food
Soup of the day keeps the doctor away
I live for the salt fish! Mmmm
By far the best oxtail in town. Thank me later
Buy the salt fish with vegetables, you wont regret it. The Red peas soup nice too.
Literally love this place. Im always met with positive energy and my food has always been top tier, well worth the price!
Best jerk chicken ever!
The food us not bad but the quantity that is served is plenty
Huge portions and delicious!
New renovations, new positive energies Only thing Bigger should REALLY CONSIDER is replacing the older woman who sometimes takes the phone orders...her tone is Unprofessional and DRY...Sarcastic and Rude...she sounds as if she cannot be bothered with taking a Proper order...PLEASE, Bigger...REPLACE HER. Your business deserves Better~
Wonderful food
Newly renovated. June 2019. Place is spotless. Stewed Beef is excellent. Been going there for years and always great food. Ample parking good prices.
The best Jamaican restaurants in Toronto
Amazing food
Great food with good prices
My favorite spot! Been going there for years! Best Jamaican food in the city, hands down! The oxtail is my absolute favorite! The flavor is like no other. The place was a little worn out in the past, but they recently renovated everything and it looks amazing and it s spotless!
I had the brown stew chicken and I have no complaints finger licking good
Bigger Restaurant is the #1 delicious authentic Jamaican cuisine! The portion size is a lot, for a great price. The customer service is so friendly, warmth, helpful and community coming together atmosphere. Must-Love!
Great food and courteous staff.
It was the worst service!! I got served with racism!! My friend and I went there to pick up Carribbean food because we love the food! First impression was great - bigger take out n fast! But then my second time going with my same friend-I ordered the same thing and received the food in a different smaller container and got charged the same price. My friend who is Jamaican Canadian ordered the same and got a bigger container like from the last, we questioned why is my container different and smaller?? Then the owner said : listen your Canadian and don t know what your talking about so don t fret !! I ve never been treated like this before it was very uncomfortable and I don t know how to fight this back properly due to the shock I was in so either this review gets read and it the restaurant gets boycotted or they improve themselves and never do this to any customers ever again!!
Fish cakes are soft and lightly seasoned, melt in your mouth kind of snack.
Great food and Service!
oxtail is my standout dish from Biggers resturant. Big portions hot and always tastes good i been eating here for years.
Its a go to place for good comfort Caribbean food
It was alright. The jerk chicken is way overcooked and whenever a restaurant has to cover their food in sauce, theyre hiding something.
My first time in Toronto my boyfriend took me to Biggers. I got the ackee & salt fish with rice and peas. I liked it a lot!! Building is a bit worn down but the food was good to me. Id definitely return.
Use to eat here, loved there oxtail but was disgusted when I seen a ROACH in the restaurant stopped eating there ever since
Ive actually been ordering from Biggers for years as the restaurant does have a delivery service Ive tried most of the dishes there and the Stew chicken is a standout it has a crispiness to the meat even though it is stewed. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and over the years the quality of the food has been hit or miss a couple of times I got the runs after eating the curried goat dish, there is actually another Jamaican restaurant across the street and even though it is a smaller operation in my opinion they do a few of the dishes a bit better and has a different spin on the various Jamaican staples (oxtail, jerk chicken, curry goat). Id recommend trying them both but Biggers does have the delivery service and the prices are fair and its great to be able to order something different than the usual pizza or chinese food.
Ask for it by name. The best dish this place serves in stewed chicken. Bigger aka Bigga is a nice fellow with a signature dish.
