Absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing and the server Janet is so lovely. We’ve had her several times and she always adds to the restaurant experience. Always looking forward to going back!
We liked this restaurant. Good service
I came here with my friend and we were immediately met by a friendly waitress who sat us down at a table. The service was great. The food was fresh and tasty. This place is pricy as it is an upscale restaurant, but it's totally worth it. I will definitely be back.
Food was delicious and our hostess was friendly. Quicker service would earn the fifth star.
Kosher Dairy (no meat on menu) Delicious food with a nice variety of kosher dairy (and non-dairy) options. The Tuna Tartare appetizer was delicious and the Buffalo Cauliflower starter was crunchy and a generous portion. We also had the Eggplant Parmesan appetizer as well which was very good. The Broiled Slamon was a bit overdone for my tastes, but my daughter seemed to enjoy it. We will be back and try a few more things.
Compliments to the grand Chef, Daniel Benyamenov! My fiancé and I enjoyed our succulent and tasteful 3- course meal! The food was well designed and elaborated to perfection! I’m definitely going back just for the chef!!!
Very high end dairy restaurant with highly responsive waiters
The service and staff where amazing
We ate at a restaurant with guests who keep kosher from Israel. We were not impressed at all by the food, we expected something tastier. The service was bad, the waitress gave the impression that we did not treat her well, she was rude and even picked up everything. We will definitely not go back there
We went to eat there and I ate the most delicious fettuccine alfredo in the world. And smooth and airy gnocchi that melts in your mouth. Their service is excellent, everything was excellent.
Great restaurant. Always impeccable food
The food was great. The service was a bit slow as they were busier than they anticipated.
I came by for a Christmas lunch with my colleagues on December 14. We were a table of 3. This has been by far the worst customer service I have ever received. First it took us 25+minutes for the waitress to take our order after we had told her we were ready. There were maybe 6 other tables being served. On two accounts she stopped by and said she will be with us in a second. But those two times she could have stopped to take our order especially when we already said we were ready. Service was absolutely slow. It took us 30+ minutes to get our food. We ordered 1 appetizer, 2 sandwiches and 1 pasta. When it was time to pay we asked for separate bills. The old waitress complained how we never told her in the beginning. Is it difficult to split a bill? How is it good service to blame your customers for not informing you ahead of time? Better yet, why wasn t this asked when we were putting in our order? When it came time to pay, not all of us felt like she deserved the 15% tip. She didn t check in on us throughout the course of our meal. When one of my colleagues tipped less, the waitress rudely said the minimum is 15%. Tips are not an obligation and definitely shaming your customer for not paying enough is absolutely rude and uncalled for. If the restaurant wanted to impose a 15% tip they can include it in the bill. However based on the quality of the food and the service, certainly I would not have even tipped her if I had a choice. This was an upsetting way to end our work year. I am absolutely baffled by how terrible the service is. Definitely memorable and not in a good way.
Food: - BBQ cauliflower - was very tasty. Nice crunch, cauliflower was not overcooked, BBQ sauce was seasoned just right. - Tagliatelle romana - this was so tasteless.. no mushroom flavor, no salt, no hint of white wine sweetness, nothing... It was just creamy plain pasta. The server did not come back to check on us and ask us how was our meal. The meal was nowhere near worth its price. Service: We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant at lunch. The server took a couple of minutes to greet us, as it seemed that she was busy taking orders on the phone. This was just a preview of the priority she gave to providing service to our table. Luckily our table was already set with some bread and water, so that probably meant she didnt have to get to us immediately. I think there was only one other table that needed to be served, but she didnt get to our order until an hour later. She said there was an emergency. Meanwhile, I can see the chefs in the kitchen standing around, probably waiting for orders, then finally slowly heating up the meals that were finally coming in from the other table. When it was time to pay, she asked if we wanted the bill on one or separated - we asked for separated, and then she says why didnt you tell me earlier? If it was an issue to do that at the end, why didnt she ask us at the beginning? Or why did she even give us that option? Ultimately, I wasnt happy with the food or the service, so I changed the tip amount to much less than the suggested amount, and the server says to me mandatory minimum tip is 15%... Since when?? Atmosphere: The bright side of the server leaving us alone for as long as she did was that it felt laid back, we didnt feel pressured for just sitting there chatting and not eating...
I had the gnocchi it was delicious.
Thr food wasnt what one expects.. Service is nice High price Food : 2/5
Great place for nice dinner
Great Decor and wonderful variety of Kosher Dairy Dishes.
Nice place, delicious and fresh food
We arrived on a Sunday and the place was almost empty. Customer service was horrible. We asked for two teas while waiting for the meal. The waitress had attitude threw the box of teas at the table and said take your own. We waited for one hour for the meal. My wife ordered the cannelloni pasta and it was burned. On top of the bad service and horrible food the prices were outrages.
Great kosher dairy restaurant. Well situated with lots of parking. Staff work hard to ensure you have a good experience
You haven t had a tuna sandwich until you ve had their grilled fresh tuna sandwich. Absolutely superb
amazing place, a special place, A place with good service, Even though I dont like milk this place is special There is even a Hebrew speaking waitress there and everything there is very nice
We got 2 pasta dishes and one French onion soup. The pasta dishes were very good, right flavor and playing. The French onion soup had too much cheese, and the cheese was hard and over done. The service was phenomenal, the only complaint was that we had to wait a tad too long for the amount of customers that were there. Other than that the waitress was excellent; not pushy or overbearing yet still available. The atmosphere is lacking. No effort was put into the decor. The floors are peeling, the place feels old and dank, and dont look up at the ceiling or you might think youre in a warehouse. Dietary restrictions: Kosher
Excellent restaurant! We enjoyed everything - the pleasant and attentive service, the excellent food and the calm and quiet atmosphere. We will be happy to come back to you!
Love it. Food is wonderful. Have the Alfredo its amazing Food
Great food
Food quality is really sub par.
Great service food & atmosphere, highly recommend
Top quality food and excellent service. Arthur the maitre d is always a pleasure to deal with.
Delicious food. Great service.nice ambience.
We were there yesterday good was amazing service is amazing we will definitely go back
Excellent service and food I was surprised how quickly the food was served to us even though we were a large group
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining, this evening, at Bistro Grande, a dairy restaurant on Eglinton Ave W. Toronto We were very impressed. The restaurant was very crowded yet we were promptly seated and then served by a very pleasant and amazing waitress by the name of Janet. We ordered Bruschetta Flatbread as an appetizer--absolutely delicious. We each had the soup of the day--minestrone. Hearty, delicious and really hit the spot. And we shared a fish and chips--a large serving, very tasty. We would have liked to order dessert but we were so full, well have to do this some other time. Aside from the very fresh and delicious food, Janet made the experience a delight. We highly recommend Bistro Grande Harold and Evrea Bergstein Jerusalem, Israel
Excellent food and service!
This was by far the worst service I have ever experience. The waitress so beyond rude. We had an older lady serve us. We walked in and she yells for us to sit wherever we want, does not greet us. Then I sat and she came to the table and said you can t sit here and I said you said to sit wherever. She said it was the owners table/ office. I said ok would you like us to move ? And she said actually it s ok he isn t in today. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees. I had something in my pasta which I didn t even complain about however I pushed the plate aside. She came over asked I told her there was something wrong with the dish and she took it away. Then she went over to talk to 2 staff members about me and said look at this she eats half of the plate and complains (when I had only has 2 bites) then she goes over to another staff member and says loudly Fuk her, I m charging her for it when I didn t even ask her to take anything off the bill. We then asked for a pop and she never brought it. So we asked to the bill and she literally threw it on the table. So I left cash and left. This was by far the RUDEST person I have ever met. Also when they brought bread to the table it came with 4 small pieces. I would steer clear of this restaurant at all costs.
Food was excellent service was great, everything is under the super vision of COR kosher
Delicious dairy restaurant. Best onion soup. Can t wait for patio to open.
Moshiach now
excellent grilled tuna, and desert. not inexpensive however
Delicious gourmet dairy cuisine, excellent service, and the courses were perfectly served in a timely manner
I am a long time customer, usually dine in but take out during the pandemic. This place is exceptional. The portions are great, the food is ALWAYS hot and fresh, and the flavours are on point. There is also a fantastic wine selection if you are so inclined. If you dine in, be extra nice to Dorothy as she is a gem. One of the most wonderful people ever. I hope that she is still there because she is so nice to us (and everyone else!) always. I cannot wait to dine in here again soon.
Absolutely fantastic. The waiting staff is tremendous and the food is tremendous as well. Great tuna.
Fabulous meal. Great service.
Good soup, try the French onion
Excellent Kosher Dairy option in Toronto. Very good, friendly and pleasant staff service
Always have such delicious food and a treat to go here for a special occasion. Try the fish tacos - they are amazing!
Amazing food !! Had the one tuna grilled steak it was phenomenal, recommended!
Staff are super nice and helpful. Food is delicious, went for a large family gathering of all ages and everyone truly loved it. Thank you!
Enjoyed our dinner yesterday, although the menu was expensive (see photos below -- $5 for coffee, $11 for bottled water, etc) and service was slow. Our soups and the pesto pizza were delicious, and the food quality might help explain why the restaurant was nearly full. There were lots of families, with children playing among the tables & doleful plastic plants, breaking things; the room might have been quieter if it were carpeted. Id recommend Bistro Grande to those with a kosher diet. To others Id recommend the better value available in the nearby Eglinton Way (i.e. between Chaplin Crescent and Oriole Parkway).
Some dishes were great and some not. Considering the astronomical prices they have I was expecting every dish to be superb but some dishes looked and tasted like they were a microwave dinner. Service was good but the one thing that really upset me and my family is that when the bill came we gave a 10% tip to the waitress. She soon after she came back saying that the minimum tip they accept is 15%. Now we were a party of four and nowhere does it mention the minimum tip is 15%. In order to save face and not make a scene, my dad payed the 15% but we all thought she was extremely rude and unprofessional in that respect. Needless to say we will not be coming back.
Loved
Really nice customer service welcoming back after months of being closed due to the virus. Food was delicious
Just ate at bistro grande, we were a group of 16, was really impressed, 5 stars! Service was quick food was delicious. If you are going to Toronto you must try it. Thank you Bistro Grande.
Always a pleasant and yummy dining experience. Don t eat out often, but whenever I m in Toronto- I always make it to Bistro. Just went for my mom s birthday. Best bread, appetizers and Tuna Nicoise in town. Eggplant Parmesan, Spring Rolls and Salads were fantastic. Nice ambience and friendly service. Yes, not every dish is always perfect but they won t hesitate to try and make it right. Most consistent upscale kosher dairy in Toronto- but bring back the Chummus please!
Excellent service, food and ambiance.
Amazing experience eating there again. Staff was respectful, as always, wore masks. Tables are kept further apart. We ate on their outdoor patio.
Good food. Friendly staff.
The soup and the service were excellent, we liked the pizza a little less
Good dairy restaurant. Love the pizza.
Food is tasty and isnt too expensive compare to the same type of restaurant. Pasta taste good, next time Ill definitely try their entrée as they are $3 more than the pasta.
Great food and great service
Great food..
Great service, incredible food, and pleasant interior design. Its a fun experience to eat here.
Amazing place. Love going there.
Usually pretty happy with this place but after making a reservation and receiving confirmation, and informing all the members of my party, they called and cancelled on me, offering only either an hour earlier or 1:45 later. Unacceptable. I had to find somewhere else to go. Very disappointing. A confirmation should be a confirmation.
Such wonderfully kind, attentive, and accomodating service. Every staff member included! We came tonight with 4 children and ive never felt so relaxed and calm with us just being ourselves as if we were in our own home in this restaurant. It was helpful that it wasnt packed tonight like its been in the past. We just always have good experiences and we are always so excited to drive farther just to have our family celebrations here!
The Tuna steak was exquisite The sides were perfectly seasoned and complemented the dish perfectly The salad was fresh and dressing was just right
Great service. Amazing food. One of the best dairy restaurants anywhere, and it is kosher. The desserts are heavenly.
Tasty food. Excellent service
Kosher dairy restaurant. Food was very good and generous portions Onion soup was delicious. Caesar salad and Pasta dish very good and there is enough to share
Excellent food and service
Lovely experience
Good food, good service. My whole family had a relaxed, enjoyable meal.
The service was very good. Food was good quality. We will come back.
Cosy ambience and good food. Would love to visit again.
Highly recommend!
Love the tuna steak
What makes a special party great? Well good food ofcourse. But what is better than great food? I well tell you fantastic service. Now what makes me want to come back for more was our waitress Dorothy. This was our first time here and I was so impressed the way Dorothy served our family of 12 . Dorothy is extremely polite, kind and very friendly. She had other tables but never failed to make sure we didnt need anything. I could have sworn there 3 servers but it was all Dorothy. Overall let me sum it up. 1. Great experience.wonderful atmosphere. 2. The food was delicious and the portions were more than enough. 3. Everybody in our party was very satisfied. 4. I like to save the best for last. Dorothy you did such a wonderful job. I applaud you my whole family applauds you.
Yummm!!!
Nice if you keep kosher, less so if you are also vegan
One of the best kosher dairy restaurants in Toronto.
One of the few stylish restaurants left in Toronto . Food good
Consistently good food and service. Relaxing atmosphere. Great for special occasions or for a quiet night out. Dairy and fish dinners.
Good food but expensive
Great food and service. The owner is always there to make sure customers are happy. Also, waiting tables takes skill - you need to be close enough to the customers so that they can easily get your attention, but not too close that you feel uncomfortable. The staff are excellent. And the Crème Brulee is top notch!!
Excellent kosher restaurant! Wonderful dishes and excellent service. I ordered the mushroom risotto dish. Excellent dish!
This is a terrific restaurant for Dairy lovers. The food here is exquisite. Very tasty. Great selection and variety of food. Staff very friendly.
Always a great meal, portion size is excellent, staff efficient, meals served quickly. Owner always on hand to ensure your dining experience is enjoyable.
Expensive but tasty
Love it
Very nice Italian Kosher restaurant. Good atmosphere, good food and for a reasonable price! Recommend!
nice dinner out designer food
Excellent, kosher Italian fare. Good selection. Business lunch available too. Generous portions. Efficient service. Parking available on street, if you dont mind walking a bit.
excellent
Excellent experience, wonderful and professional staff. Good food.
Exceptional service!!
Excellent option for kosher food. The food here is delicious and menu got lots of options. Good selection of wines too.
Lovely dining experience. Excellent customer service and really delicious meal.
Excellent atmosphere. Superb service, delicious and tasty food. Worth every penny. Fully recommend it.
I wasnt quite sure what to expect from a kosher Italian Asian fusion restaurant, but I wasnt disappointed. A variety of fish based and vegetarian panini, pasta and entrees are on the menu, carefully prepared to meet not only Halakha requirements, but also its patrons high expectations. White tablecloth and traditional cutlery create a respectable yet casual atmosphere, and noise levels are tolerable. The place itself is smartly arranged to offer both booths and freestanding tables, and can accommodate larger groups if needed. Theres a large private room in the back that can accommodate 24 diners, but be sure to book in advance. The food is very good, and portions are generous. The place is understaffed, resulting in hurried, albeit friendly, service. Prices are above area restaurants. Fish entrees are $30-$45, pasta $20-$29, pizzas $21-27, and panini are $19. They offer a Sunday brunch for a reasonable $15-$21, as well as catering. The place is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, of course. Parking can be a problem during most of the day. Be prepared to walk from one of the side streets. Wheelchair access can be tricky. The number 32 bus has a nearby stop at Old Park (westbound) or Glen Cedar (eastbound).
Good food. Great Atmosphere!
Good food and good service!
Loved the food and the service.
Keep coming back year after year and keeps getting better, try the pizza .... It is amazing.
The only white tablecloth kosher restaurant in Toronto. The service is great and the food is delicious. The sushi pizza and fish and chips are favs!
Love the Caesar, Pesto Pizza and Farfalle. Wait staff is wonderful. Arthur is a hoot.
One of the best restaurant
A nice place to go on a date that is kosher, however keep in mind that they are dairy only. I like the atmosphere very much. There was once where I wanted to change my pizza to something that wasnt on the menu and ended up charging me almost double the price, it was very disappointing.
Decent food, really friendly staff, too expensive for my tastes.
Delicious pasta and juicy tuna steak (thats hard to do!). Good service and large venue. However, too expensive for what you get, this is not really gourmet food.
Good food but you must understand that it is kosher so most will find it oddly expensive.
A lot of excellent dishes to choose from
Very poor customer service. Since they refurbished the choice in menu is very limited and food are minimalist and sadly not good. Very disappointed.
Got kosher, there isnt a better dairy place in town.
Delicious meal. Had a mini family reunion and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Plus the service is great.
Went there a few years ago, everything was wonderful! Service,food,atmosphere-all magical, special.
One of the nicer kosher restaurants in the entire city. Pricey, but nice. Good food too.
