507 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4S 2L9, Canada
Welcoming space with a comfortable vibe, serving cabbage rolls, goulash & their renowned schnitzel.
A beautiful, cozy little restaurant with super friendly and welcoming staff. We had breakfast there once, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the service was incredibly warm and attentive. We’re already looking forward to becoming regulars. Plus, it’s great to know you can also order through Uber Eats for those days when you want to enjoy their offerings at home!
The food and atmosphere is incredible. The service and staff are superb and so friendly, I brought my boyfriend with me and we decided to make this our regular spot. The schnitzel is so good and so large it’s the size of my head! Also get the schnitzel with the homemade tomato sauce is absolutely incredible. Overall amazing!
It’s such a warm and cozy spot. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is fantastic. I’ll be visiting here more often for sure!
The best place in Toronto to get brunch or lunch. The staff are super nice and friendly and will always welcome you, the environment will remind you of your grandmas house and the food is just absolutely amazing. They are know for the chicken schnitzel and I can see why. It’s large, the toppings fit in very well and it’s prepared in front of you. Overall an amazing restaurant to add to your list!
Quaint little spot by Mount Pleasant with super attentive and kind servers, aaand everything is made in house. They’ve got tons of options for schnitzels and really good breakfast options. Would definitely come back!
Super nice people who make wonderful comfort food. Street parking available. Cozy corner restaurant with a small sheltered patio. Late breakfast for two with a take out meal & dessert came to 72 dollars with tax & tip. Large portions will leave you satisfied. We had the eggs with peameal, veal schnitzel Benedict, coffees, an order of meatloaf with potato salad and a mighty fine dessert. Not fully accessible as you have a couple of small steps up from the sidewalk. Will definitely go back for other dishes such as the goulash soup. Got super busy come lunch time but the Staff still managed to dish out the various orders.
The server was friendly but food and service just aren’t up to par. I chose to dine on the patio and waited 10 minutes for a server, but ended up going inside to order at the counter. No problem, they seem understaffed so I understand. The food came about 3 minutes later with napkins but no cutlery or water so I asked for water just as she was about to leave. The schnitzel is pre-made sitting there until ordered (for quick service I assume) however when they reheat it, it isn’t crispy at all. On top of all that, I found a hair on my plate… I really wanted to like this place but will not be back.
Their goulash ($9) arrives steaming hot and emits a comforting fragrance. I could taste the spices teeming in the broth, creating a rich flavour profile with a hint of heat. Filled with chunks of beef, vegetables, and fluffy teaspoon-sized dumplings, it’s a hearty soup that could become a meal with a side dish. I did find it a tad oily but may work if you’re soaking up the broth with bread. Bread and Butter’s schnitzel sandwich ($12) is assembled-to-order with a choice of bun (Kaiser, cheese, or onion) and protein (chicken or veal). I dressed mine with mayonnaise, pickles, hot peppers, and lettuce to augment the lightly breaded chicken schnitzel. In retrospect, I’d leave out the pickles as they’re the sweet variety detracting from the savouriness of the sandwich. If you’re already having soup, it’s a good idea to share the sandwich with another person as it’s huge. If only the chicken cutlet were hot, the dish would be incredible. Still, I understand with the limited staff their ability to freshly fry or even heat up the schnitzel is difficult. With a display case of cakes and pastries, I opted for a slice of apple strudel ($5; estimated based on bill total) to go. There must be a full apple per slice as the pastry was essentially chopped and sliced apples surrounded by layers of phyllo. While the spices were delicious and the sweetness spot on, the apple’s skin were left on, so the chewy bits took away from the lusciousness of the dessert.
Rude staff
Unpleasant Service The staff at Bread and Butter are very rude and seem uninterested in providing a good experience. They only treat you well if you re in a large group, which makes it feel like they care more about the bill than their customers. Very disappointing.
What a wonderful place!! Food is fantastic and priced fair. The staff are great and friendly and the atmosphere is calming. The butter tarts were also extremely excellent!
Asked for extra foam, got extra foam. Very busy on weekdays at 12:50 - 1:15 other wise it is calm Food : 3/5
Its a treasure in the neighborhood. Have been coming for lunch or brunch for almost 20 years. Friendly staff. And IMHO, the second best Goulash in the city
Service has improved despite the fact I went at a busy time. The goulash was very good. Food : 5/5
Was honestly very disappointed with the good and service. The person taking the orders is very rude and the sandwich was so dry. Didn t even toast the bread before adding the egg salad mix. There was a small egg shell in the egg salad that I accidentally ate, the experience was horrible.
SANDWICHES LIKE MA MAKES
Cozy place! Love the cakes they serve!
This restaurant has amazing food, great service and is a local neighbourhood hot spot! The bustling shop means the food is excellent.
Food
LOVE THIS PLACE
A great spot. Awesome food and fun vibes!
Veal Schnietzel sandwiches are fantastic! Very polite and kind service. Parking might be a problem, but plan in advance if you want to dine in.
I came here with my mom and my 11month old daughter. From the moment we walked in, we loved the vibe. It had that home, family style feeling. The service was fantastic. They effortlessly accommodated us in any way, they were attentive, warm and welcoming. The food speaks for its self! We just got a simple breakfast but everything was cooked to perfection. All the recipes are family recipes and cooked fresh. We highly recommend, as this is our new go to! Thanks Bread and Butter family!
The schnitzel sandwiches are amazing and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. A must-visit if you are in the neighbourhood.
Food was delicious :), the staff were super friendly and good prices
Bread & Butter has been in around since I was a kid and it s still the best lil restaurant on Mt Pleasant!! The schnitzels are absolutely delicious/fantastic/amazing! The rest of the menu is great as well, and even the desserts! If you re in the neighbourhood and want some home style food, this is the place!
Food was great, simple but delicious. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Atmosphere was super laid back and not pretentious. I went on a Friday afternoon when a half dozen or so other customers were present and the only woman at the counter walked my parter and I though the entire menu. We 100% plan on coming back.
Feels like your grandmothers kitchen. The food is very fresh. Portions are a good size for the price. Pastries are delicious. Would definitely recommend.
The lack of accessibility and the lie that theres wheelchair accessible seating available really affects the atmosphere for me as a disabled person. I can get in as a cane user but only on good days when my chronic pain isnt too bad. Adding an accessible entrance at the side from the patio wouldnt be hard *if* even the patio was accessible. The food is delicious, service is great! Wheelchair accessibility: This place is NOT wheelchair accessible, not from the front door, not from the patio. Shame on this business for lying. Steps up to the door and patio make it absolutely inaccessible!
Food is great; service is questionable if you are a visible minority. Just like one of the reviews here mentioned, my wife and I went for lunch today and we were ignored for better half of our time there while other Caucasian guests were welcomed, seated with smiles and friendly conversations. No water or cutlery at our table. I had to stand in line to ask where to seat, ask for menus and ask for cutlery even after the food was delivered. The whole vibe felt like we were not supposed to be here. The food quality was great; no complaints there but I wish the staff would serve everyone equally regardless of their skin colour. I ll go to Starving artist next time.
Gem in the city! What truly sets Bread and Butter apart is owner, Lazars unwavering commitment to giving back. Hes not just a restaurateur; hes a pillar of the community, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. My husband and I live near B&B and experienced this firsthand when Lazar offered his assistance during a move. His kindness and generosity left us deeply grateful and profoundly touched. Lazars dedication to both his craft and his community is truly inspiring, and its an honor to support such a remarkable establishment. If you havent had the pleasure of dining at Bread and Butter yet, do yourself a favour and stop by. You wont be disappointed.
Delicious food and lovely staff! We stopped by on a whim during a trip to Toronto and decided to try it out based on it having a patio. Im so glad we did! Had a BLT, PLT and juice. The meal was tasty, great portions, and the folks who helped us were wonderful. Next time were in town, well be stopping by here again!
I love the flippin chicken schnitzel, so good
AMAZING sandwiches with lots to offer. The lines move quickly and they are very reasonably priced. Also its very good to get something quick.
We recently had Bread and Butter cater a large family birthday party. The ages ranged from 9 months to 95 years!! Everyone loved the food and enjoyed a wide variety of salads and sandwiches - including their famous schnitzel! Their service as I arrived to pick up the food made it so easy and my family could not say enough.
wonderful family owned cozy restaurant with great service and food
I have been a customer of Bread and Butter for over a decade, and will keep going back for years to come. Lazar and his team are wonderful and true pillars of the community. The food is fantastic and authentic. 5 stars all around! Can t wait till for my next schnitzel
If you re looking for cozy, homestyle cooking that will leave you with a happy full belly, Bread and Butter is it! My fave is their beet salad and veal schnitzel. Friendly service and great food!
I love coming to this local spot. I always find the service welcoming and friendly, especially Lazar & Vicky. The food taste delicious, like a home cooked meal should made with love. My favourite is the SCHNITZEL SANDWICH, its unreal :) Thank you for be a staple and for being my version of cheers (where everybody knows your name, and they are always glad you came) Parking: Lots of parking nearby
A decent place to eat if you are not a visible minority! I was looking forward to trying their schnitzel as I had heard good things, but was ultimately disappointed and surprised at how I was treated. I cant remember the last time I was treated like this, especially in Toronto, a multicultural city. Upon entry, we waited a bit before a staff had asked us if we wanted to dine inside or outside. We requested outside as you could see through the window that there were plenty of open tables. She responded with is there room outside? which was interesting to start, since I thought they would know which tables were available, plus it was visible. Someone else went outside to take a look and then just said we could sit down anywhere. Sure, no problem. We sat down, and no menus were provided, so we just found the menu on our phones and placed our order and requested water with a server. Not a big deal. Shortly after, I saw another server seat other Caucasian customers at their table, and provided them with menus and water. We still havent received our water after a while, so we requested another server who was also a POC (person of color) for some water. Our main server later returned with our dishes, and upon realizing that the other POC server had given us water, she said to her dont help me. Very interesting. When we were preparing to leave, we were told to pay at the front cashier. We stood in line, and the staff checked out the Caucasian customers in front of us, and then the staff left. We stood in front of the cashier, waiting for someone else to check us out so that we could leave. Another Caucasian man stood in line behind us, and the server checked him out, even though he was behind us, and after he paid, the server was about to leave again. We had to ask her to check us out so that we could leave. I dont understand if they even wanted to take our money because we stood there for at least 5 minutes, while they didnt even look our way. Honestly the service was ridiculous, I dont know what else they could do to make it more apparent that we were not welcome there based on our appearance. Its Toronto, its 2024, do better.
Horrific food.not fit for human consumption. The schnitzel was terrible, tasteless and dry. The so called goulash soup was horrific. They have no idea how to make good food. Dont waste your hard earned money . Go find decent food somewhere else. Rip off business!
The woman with short white hair who served customers was very aggressive and yelling at everyone. She was aggressive towards anyone who approached and asked for napkins or other things, and towards those who were waiting in line. Everyone in the establishment was just shocked by what was happening. If you dont want to ruin your mood for the whole day, its better not to visit this place.
We went to Bread & Butter on Sunday and had excellent schnitzel sandwiches! The food is of good quality, the service friendly and fast, and it is a cozy spot. Nothing fancy, but the prices are reasonable compared to most places these days. We have come here for many years since our son went to Hodgson school and we have always been very satisfied. B&B is an institution in the Mt. Pleasant area for a good reason!
Stopped in here after a workout on Sunday only to be ignored for 5 minutes while the server chatted with a couple right by the door without acknowledging us. Ladies behind the counter did not approach us either as we waited by the till to order. The few free tables were unclean/unbussed so we couldnt seat ourselves. Very disappointing unwelcome atmosphere overall, left without trying anything.
Amazing schnitzel, great brunch in a cute setting. One of the best spots on the neighborhood
Excellent schnitzel and meatloaf sandwiches!
One of the best schnitzel in the city for sure
Food is amazing in taste and service is good. You feel at home. Loved the French Toast.
Best Schnitzel in town and very friendly staff
Friendly staff...food is good and reasonably priced
I was really looking forward to this place. Wienerschnitzel is one of my favourites, my family being from Austria I was hoping this would take me back to the days I d visit and have it all the time. But sadly this Wienerschnitzel was bland, it has no real taste and was pretty dry, there is too much breading and not enough meat.
A cozy family restaurant. Food and drinks are pretty good with reasonable prices. Lots of veggie options as well.
The best Goulash soup in the city! Love the people Love the food more!
Been going their for over 35 years. Run by the best family and they serve the best goulash and schnitzel in the city. LAZ and his fam do a great job at making everyone feel right at home the way your mamma would.
Popular lunch place that is famous for its schnitzel at very affordable prices. I believe its mainly Hungarian cuisine which means portions are generous and filling, ideal for a cold autumn or winter day. Make sure you try their desserts as well, the hazelnut cake is absolutely delicious.
Great food and coffee! Poached eggs done to perfection as well as eggs Benedict...perfect and sourdough toast...to die for!
Came here for brunch. It s a super cozy restaurant that specializes in schnitzel-based dishes. I ordered the B & B Schnitzel breakfast, which was essentially eggs Benny with schnitzel. It was pretty delicious, but pretty carb heavy. Next time I m back, I ll probably also order a salad for veg. We also purchase a selection of layer cakes to go, which was a mixed bag. It s a matter of personal taste, but I found some were too sweet while others were just right.
So many memories here. Always ate here at lunch during middle school around 2010-2012. Best schnitzel, potatoes, and beef goulash in toronto. Hope they never close!
Classic old school joint known for its schnitzel. I had the breakfast special, two egg bacon home fries and toast. Hit the spot.
A genuine true blue family business operating for over 40 years. The schnitzel is made fresh daily and warmed up separately from the bun it goes in. Chicken scnitzel is my favorite along with the breakfasts they serve. A dog friendly establishment that makes one feel at home. I recommend this place without reservation
I have been to this place several times in the last few years. Food is amazing, homemade, reminds my grandma. I usually have omelette - they have the best potato in the city. Pancakes are just perfect! And their coffee is also perfect :) I also recommend the banana loaf, cheesecake, brownie, chocolate cake, they are all so delicious. Atmosphere is very cozy - they just did some cute renovations to the patio. Sitting outside in a sunny morning is an amazing way to start the day. This place is family managed and their are very nice, always helpful and kindly accommodating our requests. We will be back!
Delicious food and everyone that works there is super friendly! Highly recommend! The ceasar salad is amazing and schnitzle sandwich is the best!
Incredibly delicious cakes) Homemade food) Friendly hosts))) Eastern European cuisine
Its a very quaint schnitzel place, very nice staff, awesome atmosphere, but the food is just awful. The schnitzel is microwaved, the bun stale, my stomach feels real bad. Wheelchair accessibility: Stair before entrance of restaurant
Loved it.. very Cozy spot, with authentic old europian style. lots of options for breakfast and lunch. The ladies are the best, great costumer service. Will go again when Im back in Toronto.
Ive been here 3 times. Ordered the BLT every time. The first two times the sandwich was amazing. Crispy pan fried bacon. Fresh lettuce & tomato, perfectly toasted bread, ideal amount of mayo, salt and pepper. The third time was a complete let down. Bacon was microwaved, could hear it in the microwave as I went down to the washroom. Bread was undertoasted almost no mayo, thin watery tomatoes with a sprinkle of what looked like Presidents choice leafy green mix. I will gladly come here again and give it another shot, the first two times were 5 star all the way.
A very cozy brunch place! Though it s known for its schnitzel dishes, we decided to go more for breakfast food and got Eggs Benny and Veggie omelette both were yum. Not too heavy on your pockets either Would visit again.
If you want a microwaved schnitzel that s been sitting out without temp control, made by a woman wearing no gloves and touches everything and then the food she prepares for you - this place is for you. Not to mention tables sat out with dirty dishes on them for a while. Would give zero stars if possible.
I ordered the Deluxe Schnitzel sandwich and Beef Goulash today The sandwich was excellent (I really liked the addition of eggs and bacon), but the soup really took the crown. I will definitely be ordering again, and I liked it so much that I want to try making something similar at home myself over the winter! I will certainly make the trip up to this restaurant in the future also Thank you Chris
Super friendly staff and accommodating to dog parents! Eggs Benedict was fantastic! Thank you!
Cozy place and delicious things.
I had the veal but it was dry and I should have had the veal Parmigiano. Service was okay and the servers were friendly.
Friendly staff, excellent food
10/10 everytime. Great service.
This is is hidden gem. Great food, great hospitality! Super highly recommended!!! Their Hazelnut cake is to die for, you must try it!
Best
Food was real good. And a good value.
For me this place is a Toronto institution. Ive started going to Bread & Butter 10 years ago. The people who own and work there are so warm and kind. Their food is unbelievably delicious. They make all their food with love and passion and you can tell with the first bite to the last.
Fantastic food and wonderful people. Highly recommend.
Cant get better schnitzel sandwiches in Toronto!
I always have a good time at Bread and Butter. Their food is fresh and I love the big schnitzel sandwiches, highly recommend it if you haven t tried it yet.
Great food and atmosphere
Lovely and sweet destination for brunch. Family owned. Kind employees and DELICIOUS Snitchzel. Definitely a place to stop by. A perfect 5/5.
This place is phenomenal. The food here is all home-made and fairly priced. The owners are super genuine and don t force you to upgrade or anything of the like. Try the schnitzel and a piece of cheesecake.
Wonderful neighbourhood restaurant. Delicious home cooked food and the friendliest service!
The food was absolutely terrible the homemade meatloaf sandwich tasted horrendous and the schnitzel was dry and tasteless
I have eaten schnitzels from a lot of different places around the G.T.A. And by far the Schnitzels from Bread and Butter are by far the best. The desserts are delectable my Favourite are the chocolate capped butter tarts. The Staff are amazingly friendly. The atmosphere reminds me of an old family dinner. And you are treated like family. I have never had a bad experience there. I work for UPS. And tell all my drivers to stop by for a meal. Keep up the amazing work
Amazing food..better than good
It was amazing! First time. Had a veal schnitzel deluxe on a fresh onion bun and a coke. Amazing food, Amazing staff. Family owned, family run. Very cozy and welcoming Thank you Lazar and family.
Excellent food with excellent service
Absolutely delicious food. The interior is so cute, full of kitschy decor and it feels like youre walking into your grandmothers house. 10/10
Went for the schnitzel sandwich - huge!!
First time coming this week for take out, with someone who had worked in the area since they opened. Schnitzel sandwich and Russian salad were incredible, service was incredible from the owners son, very friendly and approachable! Will be back
Homemade good stuff. Friendly and fast
A comfy, homelike little place that serves nicely flavored Central European cooking - schnitzels, goulash, cabbage rolls, moussaka, charcuterie sandwiches, vegetable salads, hearty soups - typical pastries - tortes, strudels, cheesecakes, danishes and the like. Also full breakfasts. Unusually for this type of cuisine the dishes arent over-heavy. Great coffee and nice people running it.
I really enjoyed Bread and Butter. It reminded me of the cute cafes that one would find in Germany!
Unasumming caffeteria with a home like environment, very clean and naturally lit, soft music and some regulars mixed here and there with newbies. The place has been around since 1979 and today is ran by a sweet serbian lady serving austrian and otherwise traditional local dishes. Nothing great or special about eggs Benedictine just delicious and well made. Great place to have a tranquile brunch since it is hardly ever packed. What you shoud try is any of the delicious traditional german pastry they prepare. My G! I am becoming that regular among you newbies.
a midtown staple! the schnitzel is so good here!!! and the patio is so nice on a hot day
Best sandwich shop in the city- family owned, huge portions, warm atmosphere, reasonable prices. We miss being closer!!
Cozy Homemade style restaurant . So Authentic, I ve tried Schnitzel and salad , basic healthy Salad .
Delicious European food. Great schnitzel and potato salad
The taste is really good, and the personal is friendly, I really recommend this place
Found this restaurant randomly after my doctor appointment, and did not disappoint! We had chicken and beef soup both were delicious. Service was nice as well! They have a really cute patio which was nice to enjoy our food with morning breeze!
Super cute and fresh made food. Love.
Wonderful breakfasts, generous portions and friendly atmosphere
Just got a quick morning coffee. Loved the vibe of the place. Would definitely come back for a breakfast soon.
Enjoyed sitting on the covered patio.
The egg Benedict was amazing. Tastes homemade! The baklava was insane!!! Lemon baklava?! Omg! And it was not too sweet! Loved it!! Staffs are so friendly and kind.
Stay far away. Disgusting coffee and terrible service.
Take the sign down that says you serve the best schnitzel in town please , Not fresh microwaved My goulash Tasted like it had a whole Box of Salt , that was not goulash Im sure you have something good to serve But that was not the best sorry!
A cozy central European lunch counter serving all-day breakfast, sandwiches, schnitzels and home-made Hungarian goulash stew, as well as pastries and cakes. I would highly recommend trying the veal schnitzel with sauerkraut and the Goulash, followed by a home-made apple or custard strudel with a coffee. Friendly and down to earth service.
Bread and Butter is a quaint corner sandwich shop specializing in schnitzel. We found both our sandwiches (veal and chicken) to be good quality and fair value. Was disappointed that ours werent warm tho and had to be nuked. Also, bun options are the commercial grocery store variety. A better quality bun (bakery) would elevate these sandwiches from good to great! As is, not good enough for us to return.
Its difficult to find a good schnitzel in Toronto. This is one of the few places in the city that delivers the perfect schnitzel and <replace w/ toppings here>.
Great long established place for Schitzels!
Hands down - the best schnitzel on a kaiser ever! I had lunch there today. I obviously had schnitzel on a kaiser, and my daughter and her friend had French toast. Apparently an amazing choice too, as they said it was delicious. The cheesecake was amazing! Thank you for having us!
Cute family owned busy. Tons of great food at a price no one can beat! Service is great, location is great, service is great. Plain and simple.
Very homey cafe. Friendly staff.
A quaint little brunch spot that serves some good breakfast that tastes just like home- made. They serve gluten free cakes that are delicious and are known for their schnitzel- another hidden gem in midtown Toronto. Service is a bit slow - since this is family run.
Great guys and great breakfast place. Family owned and operated.
super cozy! Feels like you are in grandmas house for a breakfast bite. the food was delicious, I got B&B which is benedict on schnitzel. the schnitzel was preheated I guess but still very delicious. the homemade pancake didnt serve to my satisfaction. many people get pastry take out. the staff were friendly. Would recommend this place. Dietary restrictions: they had gluten free and lactose free options
My daughter and I both had a sandwich and soup plus one side of potato salad. Good homemade food, lovely service. I would like the vegetarian sandwich to cost a little less than the meat sandwich. I feel thats fair, seeing as meat is generally more costly. My daughters ham and cheese on a bun looked fantastic! The chicken noodle soup hit the spot!
Great local sandwich place with schnitzels
Amazing fresh food definitely the type of place you want to be a regular
We have been going to Bread and Butter with our family for over twenty years! The BEST schnitzel, bacon, cheese on an onion bun EVER!! My sons are in university and its their first stop when they come home. They sent me this to post, looks like IG, agrees - TEAMBread&Butter! *and the staff remembers everyone, a real community feel, where youre treated like a valued customer not a number waiting to pick up an online order.
Located at the south end of Mt. Pleasant Rd, Bread & Butter is a quaint little place that offers some of the best schnitzel in the city. Golden brown and perfectly crispy (not too mention massive! ), my schnitzel plate was super tender and accompanied by a pair of freshly prepared kale and potato salads. Throw in a delicious goulash and some from-scratch cabbage rolls and this is one spot that will be on my must return to list.
THE BEST SCHNITZEL SANDWICHES EVER! Also, the people who work there are so sweet! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Perfect place for a delicious lunch. Ordered for pick up and it was ready in no time. Schnitzel Parmesan on an onion bun and a salad, cant go wrong!
New to the neighborhood, I decided to try the bacon cheese sandwich with beef schnitzel (onion bread) OMG, best sandwich ever! Everything tastes homemade (the kind your gramma makes). Staff is super friendly. Definitely coming back!
Tasteful and healthy Eastern European food. Old atmosphere of papa and mamas business. Take it as a compliment!
Love it
By far one of the best restaurants in the area. The schnitzel sandwiches are absolutely incredible. Also have to mention the family that runs this place are over the top polite and super friendly. Never a bad experience at Bread & Butter.
This place is a midtown institution. Been going there for as long as I can remember for the 10/10 schnitzel sandwich. Pound for pound, buck for buck one of the best sandwiches you re going to find in this area of Toronto. Friendly and quick service, these guys aim to please. Do yourself a favour and go.
Family Restaurant!! Excellent Quality and Service!! Homemade food every day European Style!! THE BEST with the best prices!! from 501 Mount Peasant Rd Patron since 1996 Maxine Stirling Dawe
Great cakes and schnitzel. The last two times I was there, they got my order wrong. Totally wrong. However, they fixed it. Not the friendliest but good food.
Schnitzel sandwiches are huge and delicious. Fast service and smiles from everyone.
Endearing midtown lunch spot. The vibe is very homey (for all the right reasons) and the menu hearty and satisfying. If you live here you have to check it out at some point.
Very cute establishment with a lovely patio. The food was delicious
Lovely little restaurant, I would definitely go back.
Great sandwich shop and friendly staff, but they microwave the food. If they put the sandwiches in an oven or pannai fryer it would be a 5*.
Havent been in many times as I should. Bad me. Loved everything Ive had over the years. Actually going back tomorrow for the schnitzel:)
Great little place. Great food, great service and very affordable.
Perfect quaint little breakfast place. Was so excited to finally eat here! The staff are so friendly and helpful. There were a large selection of dishes. Delicious and reasonably priced. Vegetarian options available too. The inside is so cute. One of my favourite breakfast places and will be frequenting often!
They have had an amazing chicken schnitzel sandwich there. The deserts and salads are great as well
Cozy family style gem; the Hungarian dishes are the next level of culinary experience
Amazing food and friendly staff! Ive been coming here my whole life and I am never disappointed by a meal. Great atmosphere and a lot of options. I appreciate the variety of vegetarian options as well! Would recommend.
Food is always tasty and it never disappoints!
They place hot food directly in the styrofoam box and sometimes the part of the box literally melts due to the hot food placed directly on it. Its definitely not good for health. They should change the styrofoam boxes to some other safe boxes and then deliver. I never order from here anymore.
Best schnitzel in town. Buns and breads always fresh. Family owned. Great breakfasts. Great salads. Great everything.
An amazing place for a simple meal or snack. Dont forget to treat yourself to one of their sweets
One of my favorite sports in the neighborhood. Everything there is delicious
Great place for breakfast!
Absolute Best chicken sandwich in East York. Beautiful small family run business, Always fresh & delicious !!!! This place is A must try hidden gem.
Above and beyond service!Uber eats screwed up my order and they took the time to fix it. The schnitzel sandwiches were great and great value. The chicken noodle soup was home made perfection with little dumpling pieces and great chicken. Will definitely order again! Thanks so much
Omg! Just ordered from DoorDash. Amazing. I live about 20 mins drive away and the food is still warm & fresh. Probably the best breakfast experience I have gotten in a while. I cannot wait to try the b&b Benny again once our city is a safer place. Again, amazing breakfast! I won t take away a star because overall great food but the eggs have a strong vinegar taste which isn t bad but not for my palette.
Love this place. Great schnitzel sandwiches and the family who owns it is really nice.
I like the food, nice people
Try the schnitzel.
Food is amazing and so is the staff !
Food was amazing staff was super nice. Made mistake on my bill but fixed right away.
Delicious
Classic, cozy, delicious.
Absolutely loved the soup, the schnitzel was amazing too both the weiner and the chicken I tried both on Ubereats today and was surprised. I wish it was closer i would eat that soup and schnitzel everyday ! Definitely going to go on a bike ride to visit in person next time
Tasty food at an affordable price .
The best schnitzel!
Great caffe
Great spot!!!
Best shnitzel ever - and amazing with eggs benedict - trust me - you wont find better! Very delicious and creamy smooth cheesecake - I was extremely impressed with all the food. Excellent value - its very enjoyable food and a good patio. I look forward to coming back to try the extensive menu.
One of our neighbourhood favourite spots. The sandwiches are incredibly good value, the staff are always very welcoming. Their patio is a nice place to sit and have a quiet bite if you arent in a hurry.
Outstanding as was the apple strudel for dessert with Americano coffee!
I normally post pictures of the food Ive ordered before reviewing it, not in this case. The chicken schnitzel sandwich on an onion kaiser bun was something you only fantasize about. I would stare at the sandwich after each bite in disbelief that it could taste that good! The Goulash was one level above perfect and yes, I had a custard cake for dessert which I devoured in the car... couldnt wait to get home to eat it
Friendly and family-owned. I had the Schnitzel sandwich and tried some of their sweets - my favourite was the dobosh torte!
Great schnitzel and soups
