Café Nicole Bistro + Bar in Toronto

The man working there took exceptional care with me and the cafe offered a quiet respite from the bustle of downtown. The salmon on the salad was 10/10!

We had our bachelorette brunch at Cafe Nicole and it was delicious! They take reservations on a weekend which is a plus, the food was great, the room was spacious and quiet, the service was the best I ve experienced. We would definitely come back!

Came for Mother s Day Brunch . While service is excellent, and the food is pretty good for a breakfast buffet, it is decidedly lacking for such a special occasion. Salad option was just one plate of tomatoes and chick peas, and desserts were just pastries like muffins and brownies. Not worth the extra $10 charged on this day.

We are staying in the hotel and decided to stay in to have dinner and we were very impressed with the food. The salmon dish was fantastic. The mushroom bourginon was definitely a comfort food that did not disappoint.

We spent the night at the Novatel so visited this restaurant for early evening drinks as well as their buffet breakfast on Sunday morning. The evening visit was excellent as I would venture to say they may have been 30% capacity but I will add when we left it was becoming busier. Our waiter who doubled as the bartender was excellent. He spent a bit of time talking with us and was very engaging and friendly as well as checked on us regularly. The morning buffet breakfast was above average as breakfast buffets go. The food was of great quality with such a wide range of choices. It was not overly busy so no wait times for anything. The man and woman running it were quick with coffee and clearing your place when you were going for more. I have to say from a personal standpoint in the hundred odd hotel breakfast spots we have been blessed to have had the opportunity to visit this one was at the top for quality freshness and pleasant staff. Regardless of where I may stay in the area in the future I will gravitate back to here for the reasons listed.

Not the type to leave reviews but paying $75, for 2 people after tips, to eat hard pancakes and bland pastries is just not it. Love the ambiance, 100% and we like paying for GOOD FOOD, but honestly disappointed with the buffet. Maybe we should ve ordered ala cart instead. Service was also slow to almost nonexistent. Server brought our bill with our coffee as we sit down, yet my boyfriend had to bring the bill to them to pay. Disappointing experience.

Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever been to. Loud and inappropriate music so having a conversation is impossible. The bartender was wearing so much cologne I almost threw up. The $30 cheese platter was NOT worth $30. (It was worth $15 MAX) 3 pieces of cheddar, gouda and blue cheese, some weird chunky mustard, unwashed red grapes and THREE CRACKERS. (Which was suppose to be crostinis) My boyfriend ordered the burger and after waiting 55 minutes we left. Also ordered bread as an appetizer and they put FOUR slices of bread on the cheese platter. Im not usually one to leave bad reviews but this place was absolutely horrendous.

This is about breakfast only, and that deserved 5 stars. The food was good, generous portion, and great value for the money. The servers, both the man and the lady, were attentive and friendly. The only blemish on the food was the coffee, too weak for our taste. If I were to suggest one thing to the management it would be to look into the seating comfort. The benches are very nice but low and sink quiet a bit when an average person like me, 180 lb, sits on. This makes the table too high for comfortable eating. I switched to the chair. The chairs (the grey chairs with black legs) are very nice but tilt backward easily. Both I and another patron fell back on the floor when we simply leaned back to look around the restaurant! That is a serious accident waiting to happen. The brown chairs I switched to were very comfortable and sturdy.

Great food. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. If you aren t a big eater skip the buffet and go a la carte. I didn t realize there was an a la carte option. Don t make my same mistake unless of course you want to eat big.

Poured my wife coffee even though she did not ask for any, she also received the wrong drink order. The eggs were overcooked as you can see clearly in the picture, and the potatoes were undercooked and very tough.

Bartender was great! (Algin I belive is his name). He was super nice and friendly, went above and beyond to serve us. I really appreciated once he took away my finished drink, immediately switched with some water. No one has done that before :) Happy hour deal is amazing!! We re definitely coming back! Probably the best aperol spritz you can get here without that strong bitter taste

I love Cafe Nicole. Food is great!! Staff are Fabulous - very attentive. To top it off its located in the heart of the St. Lawrence neighbourhood walking distance to the best entertainment venues in Toronto. Can not get any better.

Not as advertised, this is an overpriced breakfast buffet or a poor-service a la carte. Staff felt the need to explain what a la carte meant... Seating is couches shared between tables, and a bit of a free-for-all. Service

Walked into this place expecting some really good food and sadly disappointed. It was 6:30pm on a Thursday and there is absolutely no one in the restaurant and that should ve been my first clue. But I had an open mind and decided to sit down anyways. I wanted the vegan option and the waiter immediately said that I shouldn t bother with it because it s super bland. So I ordered the gnocchi. It had absolutely no flavour in the sauce. The gnocchi s were so thick and undercooked I couldn t even swallow them. I told the waiter about my experience and he apologized, but still charged me full price for the meal even though I couldn t finish it. A small discount would ve been appreciated at the very least. But I didn t bring that up, I just wanted to get out of there. I never write reviews, usually because I don t have to. I feel bad even writing this review. Really disappointing. :(

We came down expecting a la carte, but it turns out there was a breakfast buffet running. For $29 the buffet also includes juice, coffee, and tea. There was a wide selection at the buffet including eggs, sausages, bacon, and potatoes. Waffles, toast, croissants, danishes, yoghurt, deli meats, cheeses, yogurt, and many other items were available.

Service is very good. Food is too salty.

The bar is highly recommended and bartender Nihal mixes the very best Cosmopolitans!

Horrible experience. Our team of 8 came here for dinner as one of our colleagues was staying in a room upstairs. Most of our team ordered the steak which was priced similar to the Keg or other common steakhouses. 3 of the 6 orders came out wrong. My order came out over an hour after we ordered and after the entire table had finished their food. Overcooked and tough. Also, no steak knife so I was forced to eat it with a butter knife. Alcoholic drinks came out fairly speedily but my ginger ale never made it out even after reminding our service twice. Appetizers were average at best and nothing special. Ill chalk it up to the holiday season for some of the tables being loud and obnoxious but overall an experience I would never go back for.

My first personal experience having a quick lunch here sitting at the bar: FOOD: Wow! Can you say TASTY?! Food came out FAST and was FILLING with wonderful presentation! I had the Chips & Guacamole I can describe this dish as wonderfully tasty, healthy with a lemon-y tang-y zest in that guacamole. It wasn t too overpowering, nothing paired with a great drink couldn t fix! I then couldn t finish on my own, lest I look like a complete slob so I opt d to take the rest home and also ordered the Cauliflower Tacos and I chose to add protein which you don t get a lot for the add on, it was still excellent though I think next time I d skip the add on and just have the taco on its own! SERVICE: Above & Beyond, Excellent! Mirak (which he joked about his name meaning miracle, he still is to me haha) was exceptional, from the moment I walked in he was VERY attentive, lively, bubbly & professional. It s important to have that balance. Mirak held a conversation well, was personable which I found the other staff simply ignored me, he was the light of the entire restaurant and I d walk out if he wasn t the one working there as my service expectations would not be met. (Not that they re exceedingly high but a basic smile, greeting or acknowledgement goes a long way in the service industry!) ATMOSPHERE: It is well decorated, there s a couple of TVs airing the news & it was a relatively quiet place except Mirak s laughter and joy could be heard across the place which isn t a complaint I was actually quite pleased to see at least one staff member didn t look like their life was about to end. Overall, I d recommend this restaurant to anyone with an open mind for the service to go either way depending on if Mirak is working, if you aren t too picky on service and would be perfectly fine with quick, tasty plates this cute place inside this lovely hotel has to be on your next stop if you find yourself in the area! Vegetarian options: Plenty of options that s are delish. Parking: There are approx. 3-4 lots. Pick one. They re a couple that also have charging in case you re electric like me.

Happy New Year everyone, as you know times are hard already. I wish i could go eat at the Keg but I can t......sad story. So i turned myself to this little cafe at Novotel, great hotel. Great staff n service by the way! But the food was a big let down for me......breakfest is amazing i have to say altho i just had poached eggs n few more items the eggs were cooled to perfection! The croissant was as buttery as anyone would love n crunchy outside! Perfect breakfest. Then i decided to try the dinner menu, i took the Spaghetti w giant Meatball!!!!!! I saw it in elevator screen n my mouth was watering. I got my plate, great presentation (to-go box) and smell amazing but when i wanted to taste the meatball cause im a fanatic the meat was blend! Like they cooked it outside the sauce cause the sauce was tasty n salty enough. Pasta a little overcooked soooo there my dream of this plate was wasted. But i had a very good breast chicken, mash n carrot from the fridge vendor near reception! That plate was very well balanced. I would go again. Well i had more hopes today n took the butter chicken plate which comes w basmati Rice n naan bread. The first plate.........was a tragedy i tried to eat two spoon of it n i just couldn t! I had to return it. The rice was on a bed of water!! Not the sauce, water! So I guess it was a rice cooker but even so i never had such rice from a rice cooker. So second time i get my plate (new one) The meat was better looking n there was less water but still wet I didnt finish it. Its just sad cause not much is open out there.......simple rice cant be butched! People need this to feel better at least. Just a reminder pandemic or not food should be even better! Not worst. I am a Chef n make rice since im 10! No rice cooker in my house. So for pe this was very bad. I worked for Chinese kitchen n we made a lot or rice also. Never seen a rice that wet........ change it or take it off the menu. Its a shame. Thanks

We had their Christmas and NYE take away dinners this year. Both were excellent with nice little festive extras for the season.

Do not order the spaghetti and meatball. Was disgusting to say the least. Fish and Chips were good. Butter Chicken good too but small portion.

The calamari was the worst Ive ever had before.

Ordered online. Delivery person got there and it was not ready. Another went. Wasnt ready. I said forget it. Wouldve been cold and unfresh. Very disappointed. Wont be trying this place.

Me and my wife woke up just to eat breakfast here, then after our fill went right back to sleep. Great breakfast, cant speak for anything else they offer though.

The staff were really friendly and were quick to help. The breakfast food was great and had a lot of options. I was quickly full after two plates. The one weird thing was their payment system seemed to be quite old. It turns out they dont have chip or tap available. I had to sign some paper slips which I have never encountered before.

We had a few drinks while staying at the hotel. The bartender did a great job. My wife had a hamburger and fries which was very good.

Very good breakfast buffet in this cafe, which is part of the Hotel Novotel. Large selection, there is something for every taste.

The staff is attentive and always pleasant. Like all Novotels, its not an extensive menu but its sufficient and the breakfast has what you need.

Stayed at the Novotel for training this past week. Ordered dinners from Cafe Nicole out of convenience and I was pleasantly surprised! Food was amazing, everything I ordered (rib dinner, chicken Caesar salad and creme brule) was amazing! excellent customer service, which I found refreshing as it is lacking nowadays. Hotel also provided breakfast, lunch and snacks during training as it was held in one of their conference rooms. High quality meals, specifically the lunch options.
