Absolutely lovely, cozy, family-style restaurant. We let our server know that we were a bit pressed for time before the show we were attending and they made sure that we got our order with plenty of time to enjoy it. Everything we ordered was incredible. The wine list is concise but comprehensive and offers multiple interesting bottles that you wont find often. Will definitely be back.

We love Camino Bistro! The food is excellent, for reasonable prices. I usually order the duck, which is always delicious. We recently visited for Valentines Day, which is our tradition. They do an amazing fixed price menu, where youll sample 7 or so different appetizers, all delicious (we wanted a vat of that lobster bisque and you cant go wrong with the carpaccio!) select from two different main options (we got the lobster Thermidor and steak) and finish off with 3 different desserts and champagne. We also highly recommend their classic martini, saketini and wine selection. This family-owned and run place should not be missed.

We should have tried this place sooner!!!! Inspired take on French cuisine with hints of Asian fusion. We tried two of the specials and found them delicious and well executed. Had the butter tart for dessert and truly the best butter tart we have ever had. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a lovely meal

What an unsung treasure this place is. Fabulous food, warm, friendly and efficient service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. I cant believe I missed this place, which had been open since 1982. We will be back and Id encourage you to try it.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. My partner and I had an appetizer, two entrées, and a 1/2L of wine and it was less than $100 for EXCELLENT French food. Very few spots in Toronto where you can get a delicious meal like this, with generous portions, for a not outrageous price. Service was great too! I will absolutely be coming here again.

The food is amazing. I just wish nicer cheese had been used in some dishes, thats a personal thing haha. The service is perfection. The dishes are beautiful, the specials are varied. The drinks are on point. Its a great, chill delicious date or friends spot!

We dropped in here for dinner before going to Comedy Bar. We were under a bit of time pressure, we told the staff and they handled us quickly, efficiently and with a smile. The food was excellent and a great value. We all had a different entree and all were great. Highly recommended and well worth a visit even if you arent in the neighbourhood.

Went with my partner for a weekend date. Wasn t too busy. The server was wonderful. We ordered the main dinners and came with complementary bread and their soup and salad was lovely. Really good value for the experience.

visited this restaurant yesterday for my anniversary and couldn t have chosen a better restaurant to celebrate! the woman serving us was so delightful and kind. an absolute sweetheart, as well as the gentleman who was assisting us with choosing a dessert. he recommended the butter tart and he wasn t lying when he said it s the best in the city!! 10/10 dessert!! it went absolutely perfectly with the ice cream. the flavour, the crust, just impeccable. had the beef brisket for the main, so delicious. the crab croquette appetizers were tasty. sunday was a great day to go as it was quiet and street parking was free (the rest of the week i believe parking is only free after 6, if i m not mistaken). avoid parking at the silver pole, park PAST the silver pole (i think it s a lamp post but they can explain if you call). will definitely be back here, such amazing food and amazing staff, felt so welcome there!!

A hidden gem! Delicious, quality food with beautiful presentation at excellent prices. Wonderful service. We had the duck a l orange and Cajun cod and shrimp in banana leaf, both served with asparagus, broccoli, roasted root vegetables. Delicious.Highly recommend.

Delicious food and drinks, courteous and quick service. Reasonable prices. A litle noisy as its small, but will definitely go back. We had the braised beef and sole wrapped in banana leaf, accompanied by either soup or salad - totally delicious. Compliments to all the staff.

A pretty new experience! I ordered the smoked salmon as the appetizer and the smoked chicken as the main dish which comes with either a soup or a salad. I picked the tomato soup but apparently, it is served cold, so, if you dont like cold soups, dont make my mistake :D (I need to add that they were so polite and changed my soup immediately).

Camino Bistro is just incredible. A small French fusion restaurant and dining room hidden amongst the noise at Danforth and Main. Authentic, fresh dishes at very reasonable prices. Fantastic for dine in ambiance, and for take out.

Why had I not heard of this wonderful place before? What delicious food and superb service! The gazpacho was cold and perfectly spiced on a sweltering day. Then came the home-smoked pork and chicken. Utterly splendid. RUN THERE!

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely relaxing dinner. The food was just terrific and the service was fantastic Our server ,David, even rushed outside to return the money I dropped after paying the bill. A truly honest fellow. We will certainly be back.

Absolutely delicious little gem of a restaurant.

I dont need to go to Montreal for French cuisine anymore. Bistro Camino serves good French foods with reasonable prices. It is located conveniently along the TTC subway line. For our dinner, the bread tasted good with oil and vinegar. The escargot was not particularly impressive as an appetizer but the entrees really surprised us. The duck confit came with crispy skin, tasted great with the wine soaked cranberries and the ox tongue was braised to melt in the mouth. When pecan tart and creme brulee were recommended as desserts, they were again surprisingly delicious. The services and the prices were both good. Ill definitely return.

Amazing food, great service, I had some high priced French food by celebrity chef but this hidden gem beats that by miles. A total home-run. What makes it even better is the price is very reasonable. Can t wait to go back.

Interesting place. Higher end dining in a low-midrange setting. The entrees are typically french inspired but with a Asian influence. A place to get a special meal at a reasonable price.

One of our favorite restaurant in the city. Service and presentation of dishes are always phenomenal. The price is reasonable for food (not sure if thats me but taste is not as great as used to be though...).

The cuisine has an amazing rustic and classy atmosphere. The hostess Maya is a delight to talk to, the experience is enhanced by the quality of the food. My personal favorite dish is the beef carpaccio. If you ever get the chance do yourself a favour and give this cuisine a try!

The food was ok but it felt really uncomfortable having my personal details broadcasted throughout the resuaturant. As well I didnt need to know everyone elses phone number, birth date, vaccination type and date recieveed...etc. the host seems way too excited about vaccine passports. A very thorough examination of my papers made me feel unwelcome.

Not sure how I have not found this place sooner. Lived in the area over a decade and didnt know it was even here. Great food. Wonderful staff. All around worth while fine. I will be back.

The service was very friendly, and the food was good, but not quite great. Our carpaccio was over-sauced and browning around the edges - not quite as fresh as Id have preferred. Still, it was well prepared, and the meat was tender. My potato soup was delicious, I could happily have eaten another portion and skipped my entrée. The peppercorn steak was uninspiring, but competantly prepared if a little over temperature. The sides were all fine but lacked character. Certainly not a bad dining experience by any means; a gracious host, fair prices, and a perfectly good meal can go a long way - but in a city with so many exciting fine dining opportunities, its a bit basic.

We stumbled upon this restaurant accidentally while looking for a good dinner in the area. The exterior is unassuming and you can really miss this place if you dont look closely. It was empty when we entered but the lady was very welcoming and decided why not?! There was not too much options on the menu but the items all sounded delicious. Prices were affordable. Food and portions were excellent. Service was top-notch. Would come back again!

Went in here dark and gloomy no take out menu and super over priced menu. Floors have all carpet. Gross and full of stains.

Been here more than once. Never disappoints. The food is always great and the service top notch. If you appreciate chef style cuisine you have to try this place. All food is prepared on the premises.

Great food with no pretensions. We ordered the Salmon with lemon butter sauce with dill and that s the best version I ever had. I could go back to have that again! The steak with shrimp was great too and so was the croquet balls. It s a home run business. Service was impeccable. There is no great decor but that s fine because the food compensates for everything. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful meal and experience

I love coming here even though it is quite the hike from my home, but it is worth it. The combination of French and Japanese cuisine is not something you see very often and here they make it work. I have been numerous times over the years and one thing I have to say is they are consistently good. I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal here. Every meal has been great plus the staff are extremely nice. Highly recommend.

This is truly a hidden gem found in a neighborhood where you wouldnt expect such an experience. The food was amazing for great prices that you wouldnt normally see for French cuisine. The beef carpaccio with delicious wasabi mayo was very generously portioned. The lamb was cooked to a perfect medium-rare just like I requested. I will definitely come back.

So... I really didnt want to write this review. The people that own the restaurant are very nice so hence the two stars. My wife and I live in the area and finally went due to the other reviews. In all our bill came out to around 90 for both of us which was appetizer, main and desert with no alcohol. The restaurant itself is quite dated. If I had to guess it would look to me that the place is out of the early 90s. It really just needs a paint job and some new flooring to bring it out of the past. The night we went was a Sunday at 7ish pm and were the only people in the restaurant. I have never in my life been in an empty restaurant on a weekend. Now to the food. I had the prix fix as it came with some tasting of a quite a few appetizer items from the menu. Some of these were ok but all lacked real freshness so I am pretty sure 90% of what we ordered, if not all, was frozen. For the main I had the duck confit which flavour wise was ok but it was a little tough and to be honest Ive had better duck confit packaged from a grocery store. My wife got the salmon which was quite good and probably fresh. Both our sides where the exact same even though we ordered completely different mains. Overcooked carrots, cauliflower and brocolli covered in an unknown white sauce, corn and polenta which was actually quite good and some eggplant with tomato. Deserts where definitely from frozen as well and kind of mushy. In this day and age of restaurants and foodies you cant get away with serving 90s style dining. Food needs to be paired properly and when you tout yourself as Asian/French fusion people expect a lot better.

Looking for a very comfortable and tranquil atmosphere a great combination with fine dining cuisine. One of the owners Maya is a wonderful conversationalist I would probably go just to talk with her.

This place is wonderful. Danforth east and unassuming. Decor held in the late 70s & 80s. Uber clean and spotless. The family owned restaurant boasts a solid array of offerings.french Japanese inspired. Wine list is very approachable in regards to the average mark-ups seen at other comparable restaurants. Perfect place for a date or mature family gatherings. The server Mya was enthusiastic, prompt and very friendly. This place is a gem and look forward to going back.

This secret gem of fine dining out in the far East end of Danforth- its just by Dawes Road- is a surprisingly affordable neighbourhood treasure. Dont go there looking for fancy decor, but do expect fine French food with an Asian inflection, served with exquisite care by the chefs daughter. Bistro Camino has been my go-to place for celebration dinners for a decade. Try the set menus, which include amuse-bouche appetizers and a fine selection of classic desserts. Unhurried charm with an unlovely view.

I love the set menus especially dessert with fried ice cream. Im not sure if they have it anymore.

A little gem hidden away on The Danforth named after the famous Camino Trail that the owner has personally trekked. Photos of their adventures line the walls. The food is creative and delicious. I had the special of the evening; pork tenderlion with blackberries. It was perfect. Service was A-1, poliet and attentive. Check it out!

Excellent French dining at very low prices with really good friendly service. Run by a family the chef and father walked the Camino Real and his daughter (the server) is happy to tell you about. There are no screens in the restaurant and very low background music so its easy to talk with your friends. Highly recommended.

Im highly recommend ! Every dish presentation was very classy, taste was wow I started with soup followed by 4 different Hors doeuvres had a Moosehead with that then had a steak that was wow the sauce was impeccable and came with 4 different sides had a red wine with that and dessert was fine gelato had a port wine with that and all portions are great all that for 52 $ Best deal in Toronto. Im hooked ....

Saw all the rave reviews and decided to go to this restaurant last night. It appeared to be closed down with bars across the door and everything. Sorry I didnt get a chance to try it out :(

To make the record straight, they are not closed. They usually take a holiday two times a year. Once in the summer and once in January. The owner walks the camino de santiago in Spain. My girlfriend and I was there last week and had another great meal. Great food and service. My go to place for my neighborhood.

Often I look at the restaurants in my neighbourhood and think How the hell can you survive? With the Bistro Camino I think Why the hell are you here? The area is low income, sort of down and out with subsidized housing around it. More the sort of neighbourhood that would support a sports bar than fine dining. But there you have the Camino Bistro sitting like a diamond in the rough. The dinner sets are wonderful and great value with 4 appetizers, a main, and dessert for $25-28 dollars. I went last night and had beef carpaccio, smoked salmon, duck confit, chicken cordon bleu, creme brulee and a glass of wine for $40 including tip. And it was all amazing! The service was excellent too! Really if this restaurant was on King street or in Yorkville you would be paying over $100 each. Ignore the crappy neighbourhood and enjoy an evening of great food.
