Small bistro with open kitchen with cozy modern decor. Was bustling busy but not too loud. Came here with high hopes given the near perfect score on Google reviews First thing I thought when browsing the menu here - what a mixture of international cuisines! Not all that common to see gochujang, butter chicken, fish and chips, and pappardelle all on the same page. We tried the cauliflower, calamari, Cheffry salad, wild boar pappardelle, lamb shank. As the dishes came, they were creatively plated - felt like we were eating at a fancy restaurant Of the appes, the calamari I thought was the best. Good balance of sauce, crisp, tanginess. The gochujang cauliflower was ok - tasted fine but I’m personally not too fond of using Asian seasonings and calling it fusion. The cheffry salad we had high expectations for - tasted was good but the texture is where it lost me. Supposedly to come with crispy puffed rice and there were also crispy fried strips… it was actually all soggy. For mains - the boar pappardelle was enjoyable. The pasta was thick with a good bouncy mouthfeel, the sauce was good. The meat was soft but inside was a bit dry. The lamb shank - the sauces and accoutrements were nice and the meat itself was “fall off the bone” soft and moist. For some reason the flavour of the lamb didn’t really come out - which is my favourite part of meaty lamb cuts. For desserts we had the blueberry cheesecake and the mango kunafa. Both were decent. The mango kunafa I really enjoyed the crispy phyllo. Service was pleasant and attentive throughout. Overall, decent place to share a meal with friends. Menu is stretched across broad cuisines - maybe a bit too stretched?
Started off a bit ‘off’ (took 5 mins to get our water) but the food was really good! We will be back again. Highly recommend the lamb and fish & chips. Both were very tasty. Thank you!
The food here was so so delicious. The portion for casava fried calamari was extremely small put the flavour of the sauce to go with it, tasted delicious (I would recommend another dish, just because of the small portion. We also shared the short rib baguette (bomb). Our mains were butter chicken and wild boar pappardelle. Everything tastes like heaven. Flavours are incredible. For dessert we got the chocolate cake. Highly recommend for nice cozy dinner. Place is a little small, has an open kitchen so be prepared to smell like food after. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.
Overall it was pretty good – a bit on the hit or miss side. The restaurant is really small and intimate so a reservation is recommended. Calamari was delicious as an appetizer. Highly recommend. The mushroom/pork Pappardelle Pasta was good and flavourful – note that the sauce is a bit sweet. The vegetarian Pappardelle Pasta was a miss. Without the cottage cheese (after finishing the cottage cheese), it was a very plain tomato sauce pasta. The Molten Cake had a low ice cream to cake ratio which was a bit disappointing. The sauces were good though. I'd be down to revisit and try something different the next time around.
The space was a lot smaller than expected with an open kitchen. Be sure to make a reservation as it seems to be quite busy all the time. We ordered the Gochujang cauliflower because it was recommended and it was very delicious. Perfectly cooked and not greasy. The mushroom soup was also very good. I loved the side of multigrain pita for dipping into the soup. My partner ordered the wild boar pasta and it was very rich but delicious. I ordered the three bean sliders with truffle fries and I was very disappointed. The burgers were lacking in many ways. The beans/patty were not very flavourful and there wasn’t enough cheese.. I think there was 1 slice for the 2 small burgers, but they weren’t melted. I also couldn’t taste or see the yuzu pickle. I was also not a fan of the fries. We shared the mango dessert and it was delicious. Overall a good experience, except for the veggie sliders/meal. Our server was great and attentive. Would I recommend this place? Yes, but don’t order the three bean sliders. The restaurant can cater to anyone because they have a good variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Gluten free options too!
For a pretty unassuming exterior and location, Cheffry’s Bistro is in the business of serving unique and delicious dishes. The interior was well designed and the service was great, but the star of the show was the food. I ordered the “Signature Salad” with lemon chicken, which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The flavors were bold and paired well together; a great example of the sum being greater than the whole of its parts. If you’re reading this, just go ahead and dine at Cheffry’s; it’s one of Toronto’s finest.
I had my birthday dinner here. Excellent experience! The taste of the food was a little unexpected especially the signature salad, but it was delicious. Very good service and atmosphere. Will come again.
Wow. Just wow. The food here was so amazing. I had the BBQ beef short ribs baguette and it has to be the best meal I have ever had in my life, hands down. The sauce was so delicious with just the right amount that it wasn't spilling out. The baguette was so fresh and soft and the vegetables were nice and crunchy. The homemade chips are fried to perfection and beautifully spiced. For dessert I tried the molten cake. It was a great mix of hot and cold and the cake was so fluffy and rich, but not overly rich. Finally, we had a great server named Taylor who was very friendly from the moment we walked in. She made us feel welcomed and took great care of our table. Very knowledgeable of the menu and helped give good recommendations and even gave a good alternative for a dessert option for one at the table when they ran out of vegan options. 10/10 will be coming back and I HIGHLY recommend everyone gives this place a try. There is something for everyone and all diets.
The atmosphere s great, the service was awesome and friendly. The one thing I wish the restaurant had kept in mind was the portion and price of the dish. Considering we do live in Canada I doubt they would change but I wish the portion fits the price. It is a little pricey for the portion you re getting. The people are nice and hardworking and I commend them for it.
Monthly dinner with the boys and we couldnt be happier. Service was excellent. Share plates were fantastic, particularly the gochujang cauliflower 3 of us had the wild boar pappardelle and it was 11/10. Beautiful depth of flavour, boar was melt in the mouth tender. Our 4th had butter chicken and it was one of the best ever. Cocktails were simple yet delicious, ambiance was great for a little spot, 15/10 will be back
This place is a hidden gem! The food was outstanding. The staff was incredibly helpful and made great recommendations. The atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and great service.
Oh, such a lovely place! Stumbled upon Cheffrys as I was looking for a cozy restaurant for our milestone anniversary. From booking a reservation to the food to our wonderful hostess Julia & the staff, the entire experience felt focused on taking care of you. Absolutely would recommend visiting - its in HIGH Demand though so dont forget to book in advance!
We had the short rib orzo and the braised lamb shank. Both were equally delectable.
Love the food here! Comes out hot and fresh, great ritual pickups. I came in person for lunch and I loved how tender the meat was! Service was great in spite of the lunch rush. Food : 5/5
We were extremely disappointed here. We came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. I had read the reviews and we were very excited. We arrived a bit early and they gave us a table ro sit at to wait. No one even acknowledged we were there. We waited over 20 minutes for our table. Once we got our table another 20 minutes just for drinks. When we finally ordered our appetizers they gave my husbands mine and his to me. I ordered the wild boar with gluten free pasta as I have celiac. My husband ordered the steak. They gave my husband lamb shank he did not realize it because we were starving. My pasta was not cooked they came to the table 30 minutes after saying they gave husband the wrong order and brought him steak. I didnt want them to make me anything I was so upset. We had reservations at a jazz club that we wee excited to go to. Than the waitress said she was sorry she did not have enough time to decorate our table for our anniversary. We asked for my husbands steak to be put in a take out container. They brought it to our table and did right there. They brought us a little tiny dessert with a candle for our anniversary. We missed our table at the jazz club so we could not go. We did not get out of there until 9:30 the reservation at chefrys was at 7:30. We were visiting the city from up north. Everything was ruined for our special night and I DO NOT recommend going here. Worst dinner and experience ever!
I ve always wanted to dine at Cheffrys because I walk by it often and it always has a great vibe. I really wanted to love it here The staff were very lovely and attentive, but the food lacked the flavour and texture I was hoping for. I got the falafel and it was exceptionally crispy. So crispy that it was hard to cut with a knife. If I had to guess I would think that they blanch them beforehand to get the crispy texture, but it had the consistency of an hockey puck and was quite dry. Next, I had the soup which was quite bland and served with a Multigrain flatbread that was actually quite soggy. Overall, as I said, I loved the staff and the restaurant itself is really cool, but I left a little bit disappointed and probably won t be back to dine again.
Decent food, maybe it was an off night but don t understand the hype. The server was nice but a little odd.
Fantastic small restaurant with a great vibe and wonderful menu. I had the beef rib orzo, and it was fantastic. Prices were reasonable and we would no question come back. Highly recommended. There s multiple vegetarian and vegan options clearly noted on the menu. It s a small place, so recommend you make a reservation beforehand.
food and service were both so amazing . only reason i gave 3 was i saw a gentleman came out of the back and brought some chopped cucumbers and threw them in the containers with bare hands. the other chef was making the salad with bare hands and no gloves. out of 3 only one had gloves on. who made my food luckily i ordered mushroom soup it was amazing, and the famous chef salad, with lemon chicken, immaculate!
The food is fantastic. It takes time to get your food, but the taste and quality of the food deserve every minute of waiting. Highly recommend their BBQ beef short ribs baguette. So tasty and delicious The atmosphere is also very Christmasy and cozy Food
Ccarol thank you for good service
The food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. The restaurant is small but very cozy. The servers were attentive. Would visit again. Vegetarian options: My colleague is a vegan and she appreciated the available tasty options.
Went to Cheffrys again today after being out of town for a while, its amazing to see that the standard of food, customer service, and ambiance is exactly the same as how I remember it. You can really tell how much the owner cares about his establishment and its honestly so refreshing. Will be back soon. Been to Cheffry s 5 times in the last 2 weeks. The food here never disappoints. In terms of flavor, cost, and variety, this place remains at the forefront of its competition.
Great, cozy find for good food and value! Enjoyed and will recommend.
Great customer service food was excellent. Will be most definitely back with my family.
Excellent mains and dessert.
Food was great Vegetarian options: Good choices and variety Food : 5/5 |
Cheeseburger sliders dont sound gourmet, but here they are. Cant miss. Just delicious. Salad is great. Servers are incredibly nice, especially the Filipina-Canadian lady. She made us feel really welcome. This is a cozy (small) nook, so reservations are recommended. Highly recommended.
Chicken so tender and perfectly done! Lovely salad with fresh watermelon and blueberry. Friendly service too. All around super yummy! But please fix that foot rail at the booth!! Congrats on a great place to dine!
We visited on a weekday for lunch. It was super easy to make a reservation online. I had squash risoto and my friend had the striploin. We both loved our meals and plan to come back again. Cocktails were very good too. Sorry I didnt take a photo.
Wonderful gem of a place. Great food and atmosphere. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Option for diet, réserver asked about allergies. Kid-friendliness: Friendly to kids
We can t say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant. We don t even live in Toronto, but every time we re in the city, we make a point of trying to get there. The food is delicious and like nothing else you ve ever tasted before. The service is excellent and the owner and his wife come to your table to make sure you ve had a wonderful evening. Make a reservation. It s small, intimate and beautifully finished. I ve even seen families come with children although I would not call it a family restaurant. Tonight we shared the cauliflower and the chef s specialty masti followed by our own pappardelle pasta ending with Molten lava for dessert. That s a lot of food and all of it delicious! Go.
Pleasantly surprised at my experience here. My friend and I came here on a whim and we are so glad we did. Delicious and flavorful food. Cozy atmosphere. The short rib on orzo is a must-order!
Came for dinner with a friend. Its a small, cozy spot. Friendly service and all dishes we tried were delicious. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegetarian options, more than most restaurants.
Good food, good variety, friendly staff...and great presentation.
Ill never forget this place. Thank you for the amazing food and warm service !!!!!!
Everything was amazing! I cant wait to go back, definitely recommended.
Cute Bistro and friendly service but unfortunately every plate was way too salty and super heavy seasoning.
One of the most interesting and fulfilling culinary experiences I ve had in Toronto. We were so intrigued by the bursting flavors that we had to call the chef over to ask him what he does differently turns out, he uses fresh exotic ingredients like fermented garlic instead of regular garlic, so on and so forth. These little details in our food really made all the difference. If you re someone who enjoys food and flavors, this is a hidden gem!! We had their wild mushroom soup, short rib orzo and chicken souvlaki sandwich. I wish we had room to try more but will definitely go again! The servers were amazing and super accommodating as well.
This is a small but mighty restaurant. The food was delish! I especially loved the salmon and the molten lava cake. Both were to die for! Book in advance.
Loved it! Chef came in to meet us personally and described his cooking style and choice of ingredients. Loved the entire experience and the food is 5/5. Try the short rib orzo. Best part, it has halal options! Food
First time here tonight and we enjoyed our meals and the wonderful service! Will be back for sure
Amazing gem of a find. Really enjoyed the food here and the quiet atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle, but still in the heart of it all. There was only one visible cook when we went, so the wait time for food to come out was a little slow. The tortillas were a bit overheated but the duck was great. I d recommend getting the burger with fries. I love the aesthetics of this place and would definitely come back. It s also a cute picture spot if you sit by the window, since there s lots of natural light. Update: went back 7 months later. It s a bit busier today at 1:30pm on a Sunday, but the food arrived very quickly (apps within 15 minutes and mains within 35 minutes). There is a wobbly middle table on the left side, I d avoid sitting there. Also, last time I said it was affordable, I don t think that s the case for dinner priced items Food-wise: the asparagus was a bit undercooked, however, the meat was done beautifully. One was a bit salty and another not salty enough, but both were full of flavor. The ribs as a starter were a bit too bony, but that s due to the nature of the meat and not the chefs fault. The sauce under it was great (might ve been ranch). Overall flavors were great, as always!
Foods were very yummy, price was also reasonable.
Amazing Menu choice, Exquisite cuisine, food is very fresh & good quality for the price. Great hosts. Caters to all palates and dietary restrictions. Amazing Desserts Dietary restrictions: Use of GF ingrediets and Halal meats. Parking: Easy parking Garage behind the restaurant - and inexpensive Kid-friendliness: My 3 kids loved the food, would have licked their plates if they were allowed too.
A cozy setting and absolutely delicious food. Friendly staff and impressively quick service with only a few people there. Fun to get a glimpse into the kitchen as well.
This place is a hidden gem. Food and atmosphere are amazing.
Small but cozy place with a nice atmosphere. The service was good, and although the wait to get our food was quite long, it more than made up for it in taste.
Among the best that Toronto has. A truly inspired menu, great service and ambience. Get here before the Michelin people do
Food was good, best bite was the duck confit tacos. Service was a little slow and a glass of wine was forgotten. Atmosphere was nice, place was very busy which was a good sign
My fiance and I frequent this establishment. The owner takes pride in his food and presentation and it is fantastic. The butter chicken poutine I crave but every dish has its allure. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Lots
The food is very delicious and you can tell they make it with passion. The service is also very good and I highly recommend it.
Excellent restaurant. The butter chicken and risotto were delicious. An explosion of flavors in the mouth. We are delighted with our outing to this restaurant.
Took my partner there for her birthday. Very cute how they put up little birthday decorations at our table. Friendly staff and everything we ordered was truly excellent.
5 stars for the service and the atmosphere but to be completely honest, the food was a 3 star only. We ordered calamari, kettle chips, lamb and the ragu pasta. Calamari was a pretty small portion for over $20 (maybe 6-7 pieces) and overpowered by the breading. The meat in the lamb and the ragu tasted indistinguishable from eachother and was under seasoned. Peas and the mash that came from the lamb was also underseasoned and the pasta was not hot and the noodles were clumped together. Disappointed for this price point and given the other reviews. We were actually hungry afterwards despite two mains, two appetizers and went to eat leftovers for dinner again at home.
This is a very small Bistro with a fun, homey vibe. The food is outstanding!! We were a party of four and had a wide range of dishes - chicken, beef, seafood and veggies. ALL were superb. Service was friendly and efficient.
The chef Shiva made an amazing paneer Kathi wrap. Very friendly and hardworking!
We had a wonderful experience. It s a small place but well-designed and warm. The entire staff were friendly and caring, always checking in to refill our glasses and make recommendations when asked. The food itself was delicious! I ve never had calamari so good. And my orzo short rib was amazing. Desserts, too, were homemade and fresh and tasty. Overall, stellar and worth the visit!
I love this place so much! Came here bc of the reviews and it did not disappoint! My server (blonde lady) was so sweet and had great recommendations. The chef was amazing and you could watch him cook the meal. He even came up to me personally after to make sure everything was good. Wish I could go here every night for dinner
Wonderful staff and healty food. The fries and the slieders are so good. Ill come back. Very nice little place.
Small, beautifully furnished bistro with excellent and above all freshly prepared food. I can only recommend it
Awesome place and the rating is definitely justified. Tried their butter chicken and paneer kathi roll. Really authentic taste and the service was top notch. Would definitely recommend this place!
Really small portions for the price. Too many default sauces and not enough quantity of the actual food.
I had one of the best lunches!! The food is amazing! I tried the lunch special and the butter chicken. This is going to be one of my fav spots for sure. Kid-friendliness: The waiter was so nice!
Vegetarian options: Good veg options Food
Edit: Unfortunate Bad Service. So I decided to go back to Cheffrys 2 weeks later and boy was the service very disappointing. Specifically the dark hair with glasses eastern europe looking lady (with the accent to go with it). She could care less about recommending a dish when prompted. ie I asked her a simple question about 2 very different salads and her answer was I dont know theyre both just salads and both good just pick any (she could care less) and Im not even a picky person, I was just looking for a bit of information about the food. I then decided to switch to the main menu and ask a question aboit two other dishes I was contemplating and got the same reaction, literally like as an example someone telling you hey this is white wine and this is red wine one is white and one is red just pick one. Dont get me wrong she was not rude but just couldnt care less. The food at Cheffrys is good but to keep up the good work and momentum maybe hire people that actually care about your offerings and customers inquiries like Alexandra did. It is unfortunate that I had to come back here and deduct a point on the service. Made.me really miss my first experience. which was Excellent. Alexandra was a joy to deal with. The food was exquisite and fresh. The portion were reasonable too. Very good quality and lovely cosy experience for the price. SWe will definitely be back next time when were in town.
Food 10000 out of 10 staff 10000 out of 10! Best food I ve ever had, very friendly staff and must visit if you re in the area!
I had the most lovely dinner at Cheffrys Bistro. The food is very tastefull, the staff is welcoming and they have different veggie options. Go on, go there!
Lovely little bistro.
We got lucky with a last-minute reservation on a Sat night. Wonderful atmosphere, service, and experience! The staff were delightful, and the open kitchen concept was incredible to see. The cauliflower starter is a must! Loved the Indian-inspired dishes, although, there were dishes from around the globe. The head chef, Jeffrey, personally came by to greet us after the delicious meal. Just a fabulous time, all-around! Dietary restrictions: They offered gluten-free options!
The wild boar pasta with mushroom sauce was the best one I ever had. I had similiar boar ragout pasta in many small restaurants all over italy, but this one still stands on top. The butter chicken is pretty spicy - too spicy for my liking. The desert was amazing, 10/10 experience, especially for the price. In other places they would charge double the price.
Such a hidden gem. I live in the neighbourhood and pass this location quite often. The food is impeccable and is very well cooked and seasoned. For the price of meals downtown, this is a steal.
It is definitely worth of its stars. The pappardelle is amazing. It is a good portion and tastes so good. The meat is tender and juicy and mixes so well with pasta. Quinoa and avocado salad is great too. It is very fresh and a mixture of many flavors. Will definitely visit again!
If you really want to enjoy good food come here. Excellent place!
My best restaurant experience in Toronto! The dishes are of diverse origins: Indian, Italian, etc... and are very tasty. Congratulations for the tiramisu, very original and successful ! Food
The food is excellent! The place is small so it is quite noisy, which is not ideal for a business meeting. The service is efficient, nothing more.
Selfishly I want this restaurant to stay more low key but seriously they deserve all the love. My water cup was always filled. All the staff and chef are all smiles and really put care into their work. I m impressed by the food every single time. You MUST get the wild board pappardelle and short ribs baguette. They do not skimp on the meat, the portions are plenty, and the food is cooked to perfection. Juices will be running down your finger
Vegetarian options: Mushroom soup was delicious! Food
A fantastic Indian fusion restaurant with a family feel and to die for food. We will go back!
Went here because it was rated 4.9!, but was disappointed by the outcome. 1. You can find better versions of most of the Indian food at Indian restaurants around the city 2. The Special salad is an Indian Street food dish which is not only overpriced, but also not the best in terms of flavor. Since its an open Kitchen, we could see the salad waiting to be served to our table for at least 5 minutes, which was enough time to make the rice puffs soggy. 3. The duck-confit taco was good but felt like more of a wrap with a big tortilla and filled with arugula and cherry tomatoes. However, the Salsa served with it tasted like it came out of a store bought jar. 4. The pork ribs were okay but they came with a side of really good jam! And the wild boar pasta was pretty good, but not the best out there. Service was pretty good. Overall, you could give this place a try. But definitely dont expect a 4.9
Delicious food, friendly staff and cozy ambiance. Recommend the pasta and butter chicken! Make sure you make a reservation in advance. They are always packed for dinning.
We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered two dishes and waited patiently for almost an hour, we noticed the table who sat down after us got the foods before us. It was only two new tables at that moment. the food was very disappointing as well. we ordered Striploin medium rare but we got it as medium with very bland taste and the worst thing is the potato wasn t in a good condition. It was sour and should have been discarded, making the entire meal unpleasant. However, We didn t inform our server about the food. my friend and I were very disappointed and we decided to leave as soon as we can. Overall, the experience was very disappointing for 4.9 , We won t be coming back.
Great food! Wonderful service.
Everything we ate was delicious, fresh and excellently prepared. So good, we went back for a second man. Fantastic food, service and all cooked to perfection.
Excellent service, amazing food, and not a stuffy experience. 100% would reccomend
Loved how small and intimate the place is, you get to see the chefs working away in the kitchen. The server and head chef were very kind and accommodating to our large group. Food was delicious! I had the wild boar pappardelle and it did not disappoint!
Yummy food at cozy restaurant
Great food! First class service. Colin was excellent he served us and the drinks were outstanding. Chef was friendly and most important the food was excellent. Highly recommended.
I recommend this place!
We had an amazing experience! I accidentally discovered this fantastic restaurant, and it was such a pleasant surprise! For starters, we ordered the Casava Fried Calamari, Butter Chicken Poutine, and Pork Dry Ribs. The fried calamari completely blew me away! The Butter Chicken Poutine was also delicious. For the main course, we had the Chicken Indian Kathi Wrap, Pappardelle Pasta with Boar, Baked Salmon, and Braised Lamb Shank. I highly recommend the Indian Kathi Wrap and the Braised Lamb Shank the flavors were truly outstanding. Overall, everything was really delicious. I highly recommend this place!
The Salmon, the poutine, the service. Everything was amazing. Prices are also great.
Small space. Delicious food and well priced drinks. The ragu was incredible. Highly recommend.
I booked my birthday dinner with my friends. They are so nice the restaurant put a Happy Birthday sign with a few balloons on my section wall for a surprise! Their food was outstanding, as good as their many reviews. I enjoyed my butter chicken dinner and my birthday cake served on my table at the end with a candle. I should have paid more tips!! I recommend this place and will be back again!
Amazing food amazing service Alexandria had us both laughing and the food was unreal. The chef even sent out a special treat at the end. This is the kind of place that is a must try!
Food was absolutely delicious. There is mix of flavours and variety of options to choose from. We had butter chicken poutine, popcorn prawn, cauliflower, 2 striploins, lamb and a bottle of Malbec and everything was just sooo good. The prices are great too. Highly recommend.
Great vibe with friendly and professional service. Beautifully presented food that had incredible flavour and texture. **3 out of 4 dishes were GF!!** Upbeat jazz music in my opinion was an added bonus. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
The place is pretty good. Recommend butter chicken, although portions are pretty small, food is delicious.
My husband and I just had a fantastic dinner at Cheffry s! The service was great and the food was excellent and the desserts! Highly recommend.
This place is a total GEM! Got seated without a reservation on a Saturday evening - which on its own is incredible. The executive chef (maybe he was the owner) is walking around the floor checking on patrons. The food was delicious and the price ultra reasonable. Get here ASAP!
The avocado quinoa salad was a surprisingly delight from the first eyeful to the last mouthful.
One of the best dinners/service we have had in a long time. Highly recommend this spot!
One of the best Caesar salads I ve ever had, pasta is delicious, & butter masala is authentic & flavorful! Service is excellent. Would be back more if we lived closer. 5 stars for sure.
Delightful and completely unexpected. Had the smoked pork ribs which defied expectations. The cauliflower which was perfectly spiced and elegant. The risotto which was unlike anything over ever had -!in the best way. The butter chicken was earthy deeply flavorful and elegant. Chocolate cake for desert was ethereal and satisfying. Can t wait to come back. A delight.
First time there and fantastic meal. We walked by the night before, place was full and atmosphere looked great. Booked dinner for the next night, glad we did!
First time visiting Cheffry s Bistro and certainly will not be our last! We loved the casual nature of the restaurant and service was great. We received our meals in a timely fashion and were well attended to throughout the meal. The food was incredible. I had the butter chicken and my boyfriend had the beef sliders, and both were outstanding!! One of the best Butter Chickens I ve ever had! Cannot wait to come back!
Small bistro with a simple menu. Intwresting mix of Indian/vegetarian and light fares. Friendly service. Not much ambiance. Uninspiring tastes overall. Wont be back.
Excellent food and amazing service. Would definitely go back!
Fantastic hidden gem, great food & service- attentive but not hovering. Cant wait to return!
This place is such a hidden gem! Every single dish Ive had there has been delicious. The ingredients are fresh, high quality and prepared beautifully. Cannot recommend the salmon enough and the butter chicken poutine might be one of the best appetizers Ive ever had (and I usually do not like poutine). On top of that, the service is fantastic and the prices are really fair.
Might be the best restaurant in Toronto, check it out!
Perfect food and service. Cosy, unpretentious ambience.
Really good food! Its great to watch the chef at work and all the food is professionally made. The lunch specials are a great deal! I went for summerlicious and the au jus was amazing
Loved the pappardelle dish! Also the service was friendly and fast. Will definitely come back and try other items on the menu.
Had a wonderful experience at Cheffrys Bistro; upon mention of this being a birthday celebration, the staff took care to reserve a nice booth with decorations, and even brought a little cake (and an ominous boombox playing happy birthday), which was both kitsch and delightful. The menu itself was fantastic, we were impressed by the starter of black tempura prawns (9/10!), the superfood salad with duck confit (7/10) and the braised lamb shank (9/10). They were cautious to accommodate for allergies with nut and legumes. I would definitely return there for the artisanal cuisine and lovely service !
Had a tiff lunch here before our movie and everything about our experience was amazing. Service was courteous but not rushed and the food was creative, fresh and absolutely delicious. I ll be back.
They earned their rating. This place is everything you could want in a Toronto restaurant. Fire eastern western fusion. Obviously an old diner. Comfortable, welcoming and unassuming. World class food quality. Just amazing.
Great cheeseburger! The fries are truly to die for And the very friendly service
Innovative and delicious Indian fusion food. Excellent service. A little cramped but a fantastic meal and experience.
This place doesn t look like much, but damn, the food is great!
Found Cheffrys through Summerlicious. We tried everything on their dinner menu with some appetizer and main add ons. I feel like their Summerlicious items were for sure the stronger items in the menu. The appatizers started the dinner off strong. The mains were good, and the desserts pretty much fell flat for us. There were components of some dishes that we felt resembled a little too closely to store bought items. Aside from the food, our waitress was a delight, service was quick, and portion sizes were very generous.
The butter chicken is the best one I ve ever had. Way to impress with a simple, common dish like that!!
This place is fantastic. So many choices on the menu with the freshest ingredients! I debated between the steak, the fish and chips or the traditional butter chicken. I went for the latter and holy moly The best Indian cuisine I ve had to date is Dishoom, in London. However, the best Butter Chicken I have EVER tasted - was just now. No joke. My head is spinning. I wish I could eat more so I could order another one. Incredible. I never knew it could taste this good. Taylor took care of us with kind professionalism and her smile was genuine. Tracey had Cheffrey s Signature Masti. I think she cried a little bit. I can t believe how good this is! I thought about dining and dashing, but this is worth the credit card miles.
Food was excellent and the service superior. The restaurant is a bit small but it is clean and well maintained.
I went for my birthday dinner and the food was pretty good. The food was well-presented and the interior and dishes themselves was very nice. The food was a little disappointing though as the butter chicken was good, but not outstanding. The wild boar pappardelle was too salty as well. They did give me a cake for my birthday, and though it wasnt that good, I appreciate the gesture.
The best Bistro in downtown. The food is freshly prepared from the scratch !! and tastes delicious. The must try would be the butter chicken poutine and salmon . Would love to have special items offered for lunch to be extended for dinner as well . Would definitely visit again.
This was my 2nd visit to Cheffrys, my wifes 3rd. We really enjoy the service there and the food is consistently good. It is a smallish place but that lends to the ability of the staff to cater to the customers. We were celebrating a birthday and they went out of their way to provide the birthday boy with a great experience. Vegetarian options: My wife loved her vegetarian entre even though she is an omnivore!
Scrumptious salads! They also have other rotating lunch options which are consistently delicious.
Food was top notch and great service for a great price. Will always be a stop for me when Im in Toronto, fabulous!
I had a very disappointing experience at this Resturant due to their extremely late service. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were finally seated, it took another 20 minutes for our waiter to take our order. The food then took over an hour to arrive, and by that time, we were extremely frustrated. To make matters worse, the staff seemed indifferent to our complaints and didnt offer any apologies or compensation for the delays. I expected much better service and professional.
Great food - I had the wild mushroom soup and the papardelle with braised boar and a glass of merlot. The food was super delicious and the wine a great pairing. As dessert I had the Tiramisu with espresso named Say Yes, say Yes.
Delicious food! Try the butter chicken. The molten cake was too sweet but everything else I ate was exceptional. Great service too! Nice for a date night.
I have been eating from cheffreys since they first opened and I must say chef rey is amazing and his cooking is SO delicious. I would urge anyone wanting high quality meals to give this place a visit.
Food is AMAZING! Need a little refresh for drinks menu, but you mostly go there for the food experience. 100% recommend!
Loved the ambience and the food was delicious
Stumbled upon this small amazing bistro in downtown. Ordered the salmon and the California steak. The best flavours in both dishes, the salmon had so much flavour and a unique taste that touches your palette. Steak was juicy and tender and with in flavour with the puree. The plus point was that theyre were halal options. The server was super friendly and kept checking up on us and also cheffrey the chef and owner was super friendly and you can tell he loves what hes doing takes pride in his dishes. I would totally recommend this place to my friends and family. Food: 9/10 Service 10/10
Chef Jeff was very welcoming and friendly. Great service and amazing food. Many choices and plated beautifully! Will definitely return ! Food
Google tried to take us to the wrong address, but we persevered! Excellent food, excellent service, excellent experience!!
A culinary delight. One of the best hidden gem restaurants in Toronto. Small and intimate dinning experience with an absolutely amazing exquisite cuisine. Been 1/2 dozen times, and it has never disappointed. Bonus, Chef Jeffry Rocha takes time to make the rounds to greet guests at their table.
The place is very clean, nice seating with viewtoward the open kitchen. We ordered delicious pasta with braised boar, and souvlaki burger. Very well seasoned and made. Small ish portions and maybe being able to order fries separately or together with the burger wouldve been nice. Great place! Vegetarian options: Pasta with vegetarian sauce instead of the boar
Exquisite dishes, pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. Highly recommend.
Honestly, very disappointed, their website clearly states, Fridays and Saturdays We do not take online reservations from 5:45 p.m. until 7:15 p.m but according to their host, they are fully booked. There did not seem to be a private event. There were empty tables seemingly available. My family were quite disappointed. This definitely put a dampener on our night out to the theater. Im more than happy to book ahead infact I intended to considering it was a Friday night. However, as you can see from the screenshot, we were unable to.
This place is absolutely fantastic. I have been twice in one week! Every dish is so unique and delicious you can t go wrong with whatever you order. I d highly recommend the cauliflower and the fish and chips. The chef and servers were all amazing 10/10!
I went there today for the first time! Wow! If you re looking for a restaurant where every bite feels like a celebration of flavors, this is the place! The food here is simply delicious. Each dish is bursting with vibrant, fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned to create a symphony of taste that will leave you wanting more. Whether it s the appetizers or mains, or every course felt like a party in my mouth. The balance of flavors is exceptional sweet, savory, spicy, and tangy all coming together in perfect harmony. You can tell the chefs put a lot of love and care into every plate. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the service is top-notch.
Very good food at a very reasonable price, everything was really good
A family lunch which went very well, we were well served. I strongly advise Parking: Paid parking difficult to park next to the restaurant Kid-friendliness: The waitress was very patient
Very good restaurant with excellent and friendly service. Multiple food options so you will find something you will like. Did is very cooked. Extremely good value for money
Undercooked chicken and pasta for lunch! Will not go back to this.
We stumbled across this place on an informal walking tour of the city. A member of our group was looking for butter chicken poutine; their did not disappoint! We also ordered the pappardelle ragout (terrific), short rib orzo (very good), fish & chips (delicious) and butter chicken (amazing).
It s a lovely spot with great ambience and delicious food. Every dish we ordered was great. I m definitely gonna visit again for the butter chicken and blueberry cheesecake.
Food here is amazing and the value for money is the best I ve seen in the city so far.
Got catered lunch from here, the gourmet sliders were so high quality and delicious! Love the use of unique ingredients without them being overpowering
Incredible atmosphere and service. Food was fantastic and presentation was perfection.
LOVE this quaint and discreet restaurant with amazing food!
Came for lunch and was very impressed!! Cozy atmosphere and music with delicious food
Excellent!
You wouldnt think it would be as good as it was. Me and my girlfriend had the cauliflower, quinoa, and short rib baguette, and they exceeded all expectations. Chef Jeffery came to our table at the end to check on us and our server was super attentive and helpful. Cant recommend this place enough it deserves more recognition!
Great food great atmosphere. I love the place. Thank you for the great experience.
Food was excellent --- lamb shank superb; the appetizers are interesting versions of a standard --such as the calamari and gochujang cauliflower. Its a small restaurant, but service is good. They were late with our reservation, but addressed the issue with grace.
Visiting Toronto this week and found this little gem! Such a nice place for a lunch or relaxing dinner. Food is very tasty with so much flavour. Customer service was excellent a must try food and stop to enjoy in the atmosphere!! Food : 5/5 |
Delicious food. Great service.
The service was welcoming and friendly and the food is packed with complexed flavours. The portion sizes are very generous, so we shared the meal. We started with the Sticky Gochujang Cauliflower, had the Superfood Salad next and decided on the Pappardelle Pasta with braised boar and mushrooms for our main. The restaurant is small, so I would recommend reservations.
Wow. Just Wow.
Flavorful food, fresh ingredients and good service. Id recommend it for vegetarians and/or vegans as well they have quite a few options. Limited seating so dont forget to reserve in advance.
Awesome food and attentive service. It is a small place but don t let that stop you from enjoying!
Service was slow and inattentive. The food took forever to arrive, all the while one dish was sitting there, getting cold. It s a tiny place so there is no ambiance especially sitting right next to the kitchen and the beeping machine that tells you every time the front door opens. Wouldn t recommend.
I ordered the lunch special. It was so good.
Amazing lunch at cheffrys. Butter chicken is a must try option here. A must visit restaurant
Nice place but don t go if it s crowded. We ordered 2 smashed cheeseburgers with truffled fries, one Aperol Spritz and one Campari soda. The service was very slow, but there was just one waitress for 7-8 tables. It s really not her fault. The food wasn t bad but it was average. I really was expecting more because of the reviews and rating.
What an AMAZING bistro! While planning my partners birthday dinner, I found this restaurant through Google reviews. I am SO happy that I found it because wow, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end! When I made the reservation online, I mentioned in the comments that it was my partners birthday. I wasnt expecting the restaurant to do anything special. When we got to the restaurant, there was a colourful happy birthday sign and balloons attached to the wall behind my partners seat. I have never seen any place do this before. That was so thoughtful of them! Taylor was our server. She was so sweet, very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. She explained their regular and special menus, gave suggestions and alternatives, and accommodated our tastes and needs. Jeffery is the owner and chef. He came out of the back to talk to every single table. I absolutely love when chefs and owners do that; it shows that they care about their restaurant, their employees, and the people they serve. He made sure we were satisfied and told us about his values of being a chef. Hats off to him and his wonderful staff! Both my partner and I had the blue heaven cocktail. We watched Taylor make the drinks with care and precision; we were really impressed. My partner had the BBQ beef short rib baguette and then the molten cake for dessert. He loved both of them so much. He kept raving about how delicious the baguette was throughout our entire dinner. I had the wheat + mushroom thyme risotto, which was vegan. It was so delicious and flavourful. I usually find risotto dishes plain and sometimes bland, so its not my go-to meal. This one had so many different ingredients and flavours; I was really impressed. They ran out of the vegan dessert by the end of the night, but they put together various vegan ingredients for me, so that I could still enjoy a dessert. I was so thankful for their efforts. They really went above and beyond! I would highly recommend this bistro! We had the best experience and will definitely come back when were in town next. I will be telling everyone I know all about it. I was surprised to see some low-rated reviews on Google; I would honestly ignore them. Everything from the food, to the service, to the staff members, and to the ambiance, made it all worth it! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available. Dietary restrictions: There is something for everyone! Kid-friendliness: Family-friendly space
Delectable dishes. Each plate was specifically crafted with bounding flavour. We tried the summerlicious dinner menu. Calamari, fried cauliflower, papardelle, and risotto. To finish, americanos paired with a panna cotta and chocolate ganache cake. The service and food were to die for. 10/10 recommend.
Absolutely wonderful, we could smell the delicious food long before we walked in. The food did not disappoint. I had the fried calamari and the pasta and it was perfection. I would have enjoyed my molten cake too if I was not so full. Would definitely return.
Everything was perfect, sparkling, surprising. The welcome is warm and the cuisine has incredible flavors. We recommend +++ with your eyes closed. Thank you for this shared moment
Day before yesterday I got their baked salmon for lunch takeout and that was one of the best salmon dishes I ve ever had. Two days later, here I am dining in. For starters we had the shrimp and it was delicious. Also tried the chicken tikka kathi wrap and it s straight from the streets of north india- brilliant. I personally felt the BBQ Short Ribs Baguette meat was a little salty, overall the dish tasted great. Plating is of high quality- especially so for the desserts. Tiramisu is brilliant- cheesecake was average. Owner-Chef has over 30 years experience in the food industry and it clearly shows- incredible experience
Really unique, delicious dishes, very personalized service from the owners and wait staff, nice atmosphere and is reasonably priced. What more can you ask for!!
Discovery of our stay in Toronto, delicious cuisine, warm welcome. THANKS
Great Indian fusion!
Very well presented food with budget friendly prices. The plating and quality surprised me given the prices. The head chef is exceptional. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff does need some more training for a more cohesive experience.
Wasnt sure what to expect but i thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Its a small restaurant but nicely designed, i would call it casual elegance. Menu had mid and higher priced items so theres a good choice price and menu wise. Calamari appetizer was amazing and butter chicken was good. Had the chicken souvlaki burger and no complains on quantity of meat and taste. Short rib sandwich was lean but not dry or tough. Service was excellent and most seats have a view of food being prepared. Good place for quiet and cozy meal for two or small group. You have to make reservations, probably wont get a seat with a walk-in.
The service was amazing. I took my gf out for her birthday at Cheffry s, but beforehand, asked them if they did anything for birthdays. They put up balloons and decorations for her which was really nice of them to do. They also gave us a tasty cake at the end. Food wise, we thought it was good, but the shrimp appetizer I got was a little overcooked. I put 4 starts for ambience as I feel like the dining area s lighting could ve been a bit dimmer at night. Would ve been better since there was some nice jazzy bossa nova music playing and we were having dinner with some wine. It would ve helped the mood of the place, just my 2 cents! Thanks Cheffry s Bistro!
What a hidden Gem !! We were looking for a new dinner spot that offered everything from great food, ambience and service and Cheffrys covered it all. This small dinner spot has a cool little vibe. Honestly if this restaurant was in a bigger location with more awareness there would be a line down the street with a waitlist. Our meal was one of the best we have enjoyed out in Toronto in a long time. We enjoyed the casava calamari - lightly breaded and fried with a delicious aioli sauce. Next we had the lamb shank and the short rib orzo. Both were beyond delicious - cooked to perfection and served hot immediately coming from the open concept kitchen. One of the best restaurants in Toronto....easily beating out all of the usual chain type venues in the neighbourhood and serving up really average menus.
Quaint, friendly and delicious. Try the soup.
Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Deciding to stray out of my comfort zone a bit, I was blown away by the melody of flavours their signature masti had. The combination of the fresh sweet, tangy and savoury flavours created a gastronomic party inside my mouth, with an addicting airy and crispy texture from the rice puffs. Like most insurances, you buy it even if you dont need it, so I got a familiar, comforting bowl of butter chicken thats better than any choice in Little India. The chicken is cooked perfectly, coated in a creamy yet sweet tomato butter sauce thats not too heavy. The soft naan has a subtle umami texture but an evident affinity for sopping up the curry, along with the fragrant, fluffy rice thats seasoned with cardamom. We got the Signature Masti and Butter Chicken
Loved a quick and delish bite here before a show. Food was fresh and tasty, service was fabulous. Loved watching them cook in the open kitchen. Recommend as a great, more reasonably priced, option for high quality food around the entertainment district.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. The Mushroom soup is a must try!
Shared a wonderful reunion with old friends last night and we couldn t have picked a better place. Such a warm and inviting atmosphere, comfortable environment, attentive staff and knowledgeable proprietor. Amongst the five of us we had the wild boar, salmon, signature chicken dish and for apps chips, calamari and ribs. All were flavorful and delicious. We all had a wonderful time and this restaurant went out of their way to contribute to our experience. Thank you!
A true hidden gem in the middle of downtown. In particular and unexpectedly, the pappardelle was an absolute standout, and the butter chicken of course was wonderful. Close runner-up was the cauliflower. But by far the best part was the owner, Jeffry, and the clear passion he has for quality, his customers and his food. Evident in every part of the restaurant.
Eclectic menu with a little bit of everything. I tasted everything we ordered and it was hard to decide what was the must order item . Butter chicken vs. short rib!
Had an excellent meal and great service yesterday. Soup, sandwich, poutine all delicious! Will definitely be a repeat customer.
We had a wonderful experience at Cheffry s bistro. Every dish was innovative and delicious. A good variety of vegan options as well. They really do care about their customers. It was a pleasure to speak with the head chef, Cheffry in person. I would definitely recommend this place. A perfect 10/10!
This place is one of those rare funds.
small bistro with excellent food and service, we had falafel and cauliflower fries as an appetizer and both were delicious and well served crispy outside and moist and flavorful inside, as main we had duck tacos and tofu tacos, again both were delicious and flavorful specially the tofu which sometimes is bland but this time was as tasty as the duck, service was very friendly and efficient, definitely worth a try is you are around the area
Food was delicious, fresh, surprising, and the staff was so friendly, that I was sad while leaving after dinner :)
Loved this place. My family took me for my birthday and I m usually a picky eater but everything I tried was so delicious. We tried the calamari, blackened prawns, cauliflower, pasta and salmon meal and everything was amazing. And to top it all off the service was so homey, gentle and elegant. Highly recommend and will be returning in the near future with friends. We came all the way from Toronto to try Cheffrys out and it was well worth it!
We found this hidden Gem.To celebrate my daughters birthday. The service was great, food was great. The staff are very very friendly. The food was delicious bursting with flavors. The owner was very nice..Thank you for.a wonderful evening. I will be going back.soon with some of my friends. Food
Really nice place to eat at, would recommend this and will be back
Phenomenal food. Elevated bar food, I would say. I had the braised boar papperdelle pasta, but need to come back for the beef lasagna and the sliders (the fries looked incredible). And oddly, the bathroom was impeccable and even smelled good. Food : 5/5
100% worth a detour! Highly recommend, and an exceptional value. Thank you for keeping gastronomy affordable. Next time and every time we ll visit Toronto, this place will be high on our list.
Had a wonderful meal. The Wild Mushroom Soup was amazing, as was the fish and chips, butter chicken and farro risotto. Cozy atmosphere. Cheffry came out to check on us and it was appreciated. Had a nice chat. Vegetarian options: Quite a few vegetarian options.
Amazing little spot the food is so satisfying here!
Amazing! Must have! Only problem is there are too many great foods on the menu!
A beautiful hidden gem. Very relaxing atmosphere, excellent food with a nice selection. Definitely not your same old boring offerings. Highly recommended, not my first visit certainly wont be my last
Was drawn here by the sheer number of great reviews and exciting menu. HUGE win! This is a small space that is dedicated to providing top-tier meals bursting with flavor. Everything ordered was fabulous. Easy repeat any time Im in Toronto. Dont pass this up!!
The food is awesome, I can say for sure its a hidden gem!
The food was perfect, from appetizers to dessert, flavors, portions; a hidden gem
The butter chicken poutine is amazing. The chicken souvlaki burger was great. The waiter s continuous supply of water was appreciated. The open kitchen with cook happy to answer questions and provide information made the whole experience.
This is not your typical Indian restaurant. It is Indian fusion, and between the four dishes and one appetizer we ordered, every dish was delicious. Our server, Aman, was incredible extremely attentive and went above and beyond with us and our kiddo. Saturday night was fully booked, so be sure to call/book in advance before popping in. Highly recommended!
From the moment we walked in the service/welcome was so personalized. Chef Jeffrey is very passionate about his food and connecting with his customers. The food is so delicious and he catered to my friend who had certain allergies. We are going back this Sunday Vegetarian options: Try the cauliflower dish Dietary restrictions: You just have to let Chef Jeffrey know. Parking: Very reasonable and just by the Bistro
We had a delicious meal here with great service. The server went above and beyond to help make our toddler happy. I had the signature dish and added the salmon, and it did not disappoint. My husband had the butter chicken and it was also very good. Overall great experience and would definitely come back.
