Went and got 2 doubles , was really flavourful and was quite filling.

Went to Debe s after seeing a review on tik tok. It exceeded my expectations. The dhalpurie was light and fluffy and packed with peas, plenty of jerk chicken and the hot sauce was fantastic (ask for it on the side if you can t handle spice) Randy was very welcoming his service was excellent. Will definitely be back 10/10

Severely over salted curry chicken roti. Didn t like the price the lady told me for a Ting at $4.50. Got a Ting at the convenience store next door for $2.5. Not going back here.

One of the best doubles joints Ive ever come across. Tried the jerk chicken doubles and it was delicious. I ordered the prawn curry with roti and one bite of those prawns took me back to my childhood. If youre in the mood for doubles, try this joint, you wont regret it.

These people be straight up scamming. Got the mac pie with stew chicken and was charged $16+ for a small container of the mac pie and an additional 4 small pieces of chicken, on top of that the prices in store are a lot more than they are on uber eats when its usually the other way around.

Restaurant could benefit from finding a more effective way to package with durable containers? The styrofoam bowls with a small piece of tape on the lid isnt doing any justice, there was a lot of spillage in the bag when my order was received, that could be more ownace on how the delivery was handled, but also an L on the restaurant for cheap containers. Also, the doubles I ordered came in a brown bag, drenched in oil, and they also happened to be my least favourite food out of everything that came with my order, the taste was very disappointing. The curry chicken, however, is very memorable, it was absolutely fantastic. The mixed veggies, seasoned beautifully with just the right amount of spice, went really well with the rice and peas. Would definitely order again, but would pass out on the doubles.

Did not enjoy any thing from here .order a bone in chicken roti got the bone but couldnt fine the chicken meat. Ordered a bone in goat taste was weird so I left it all on the table. Ordered 2 doubles taste stiff and reheated the channa needed some taste. The solo was good . Sad to say Definitely do not taste like debe food from Trinidad..

Phoulories were excellent, so were the doubles. Was disappointed in the channa/ potato roti. I prefer whole channa and cut potatoes not the version that they use in the doubles. Overall very happy

It is such a treat, whenever I get the opportunity to eat ur food. But its ALWAYS a blessing to to have a person at the counter who can keep the ball rolling this particular lady is old school. 3 of the 5 items I ordered were missing from the delivery. Twice I called the restaurant to complain and each time I received no support at all. They refused to reverse the charges for the missing items and they refused to resend the full order. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN.

It was my first time eating here. I decided to start off with some doubles and Tamarind sauce. The doubles were soft and flaky and the chick pease were soft and nice. I ll be eating here again!

Best rotis and doubles I ve ever had. Ordered the chicken curry roti, chicken stew roti medium spicy doubles and extra spicy doubles. Everything was on point when it comes to flavor!! My one learning would be next time opt for the boneless rotis- some bites had bits of bones in it- but that s what you get when you get a bone in roti. If you haven t checked it out- you gotta! The Roti itself was soft but the goat flavour was not good. I don t know what type of curry was used. I recommend to try a new curry. Am West Indian I usually use 3 different brands of curry powder mixed together which is really nice.

I went there yesterday and bought two doubles but wasnt impress because the filling was so thin that it flowed out of the doubles like water and dripping all over me, Ive been eating doubles for years and I know how doubles should be prepared, when properly made you can eat and not mess up yourself.

I had doubles from here once before today, and it was good I was surprised. But my second purchase today, was so disappointing. The channa filling in the doubles was old, the bara was hard to chew and the sauces were all done wrong which seems to be a regular problem here. This restaurant needs consistency because it s a spot where it s either hit or miss, many others I know, have mentioned this but I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried it out.

Came across this little restaurant as I had lunch next store. Decided to walk in and get a double. I took it home and reheated it to try. Wow, it was SO good. Best double I ve ever had, I don t know how doubles are made but the filling inside was so flavorful. My mouth is watering as I type this.

I used to be a regular here, but today I returned after 6 months and things have changed. No more Jerk chicken lunch special and the lady who was there treated us like WHY ARE YOU HERE??? very rude.

Stopped into the Vaughan location and had the pleasure of picking up some dinner. Chicken curry roti, vegetable platter, doubles, jerk chicken plate with rice and peas and salad. Great customer service, great tasty hot food and flavour was wonderful. Keep up the good work I definitely will come back for more when im in the area.

The food isnt bad, but sometimes it has a strong msg flavor(probably from bullion cube). They also charge extra if use debit/credit which is kinda dumb.

Unfortunately I wont order from here again.

I went there to pick up a couple veggie platters, the roti took about 10 minutes to make cause the person who took my order didn t know that it finished. Some of the veggie curries were sold out and they didn t block it like they did for the other items that were sold out.

First of all if you havent been there, its a must visit restaurant. Welcoming atmosphere. Great tasting food and i mean GREAT tasting food, appetizers, and goodies at very reasonable prices. Small place, but its kept cleaner than bigger restaurants that Ive been to.. And nope, Im not affiliated with them, just how i feel after my visits.

This place is a hidden gem. Been here a few times now. Boneless goat roti is my fav dish, Very authentic and So flavorful. Randy is amazing, he definitely makes sure you are well taken care of . Randy is from Trinidad so you know these Rotis are the real deal.

WOWOWOW These DOUBLES! This has instantly become my favourite spot for doubles in the city and I was so excited to have found it. My only complaint is that I didnt see their full menu before ordering because I would have gotten a bit more creative. Delicious meal, great deal, cant wait to come back.

Now I ve been to this restaurant plenty of times and recommended them to everyone I know. Even left them a 5 STAR REVIEW sad to say a year and half later it s now 1 STAR.When I first came to Debes the price for the combo was $8.99 for roti, double and drink. Anyway I placed my order online 2 combos that states it was 24.84 includ tax when I arrived to the store I was told that my total was $29.22 I asked why as I have a copy of my confirmation with my total. The lady began to tell me that prices weren t updated online and that I would have to pay in store prices. I asked to speak with the owner and she was able to get a hold of her. Upon speaking the owner she stated that because their using a free website their not able to change the price online which has nothing to do with me as a customer. If you can t change the price or shes being too cheaped to pay for a website then you should be honouring the prices online for all online orders. Instead she stated I ll do it this one time but she just know if you place an order online you ll have to pay $12.49 plus tax. Atm I should of never supported this restaurant. Roti not even worth the price your charging now, litterally 4 pieces of chicken in a roti and I also stated medium pepper for both and their was none in it.I just picked out the meat and thru it away! When you were advertising for 8.99 roti we re loaded now that a second restaurant open up food isn t the same. Went from $8.99<$10.49<NOW 12.49. If you walk into a grocery store and pop advertise for 1.99 but it rings up to 2.99 don t you think they d have to honor!

Went there this past weekend, bought doubles, ahloo pie and Seniha (I think I spelled that wrong) they were all fantastic. The food was flavourful, fresh, and had a good heat to it. The food was also great the next day after reheating it. I would definitely return!

Doubles had to much baking soda, and the phlourie was a total mess when they added geera. I usually order from Leelas doubles and roti, they are much better.

First time ordering from here the flavours are absolutely delicious however the goat was dry and I only had 4 pieces of meat in my roti that was pretty disappointing

I enjoy the goat Roti. I enjoy the price. I think the staff is amazing. My only issue is hours arent convenient. What is lost in the hours is made up in service. Happy to hear they have a new location.

Im just working on a bone-in goat roti and can already say this place is 5 stars. Goats quality and well-cooked (none of that off-putting gamey flavour thats common with improperly prepared/cheap goat), the currys flavourful, and the heat is good. Id say theyre overstating the heat - given their warning about it - but I do suspect she was a bit cautious about it because Im a white boy and did mention having scorpion pepper sauce at home. That said, its decently hot and has that wonderful balance of flavour and heat that many places dont bother with and most places fail to achieve. Highly recommended. I detoured there after hockey because I wanted a good roti and some doubles, and while it was a bit of the way it was well-reviewed and its rating is well earned. Do stop by there if youre around Jane and Finch some time. [Afterthought after completing the roti]: seriously, fantastic.

The boneless chicken roti is amazing man . When ever I m craving a good chicken curry I think of this place. My advice to people who love heat . Order pepper on the side ! It s so good but so spicy lol

I had the best experience at this restaurant. I have lived in the Toronto area for some time now and have been trying to find a restaurant with the quality that this one has. Not only was the food amazing but the owners are so personable and easy to joke around with. If you re looking for a restaurant in Toronto that has authentic trini food that reminds you of home this is definitely the one to go to. I will definitely be back :)

Please take the time to read all of the negative reviews before you support this business and see how childish, rude and unprofessionally the owner(s) answers everyone just because people may have an indifference of opinion. Most of the time the customers are just sharing their honest opinion and it s that simple. This is a space to share experiences and opinions but the owner responds very combatively to everyone. Maybe if they were more professional and polite in their response some of their customers might actually delete or change their review even if it might not change how they actually feel about the restaurant or food. They might also go back and have such a great experience that they update their last review. This is a customer service oriented business. The food is not the only thing that matters here. I have ordered soggy roti and doubles from here and never left a review about it but when I see someone being disrespectful to others I will make sure to mention it. Support businesses that care about customer service. Not condescending owners that forget the importance of it. As you can see from his response to this review, childish. My girlfriend was the one that placed our order so yes, both her and I are allowed to leave honest reviews and had he not been rude we would have removed the reviews but that wasn t the case and they also cancelled our order today when we placed a new one which was only placed because my very pregnant girlfriend was craving doubles. Vegetarian options: I love the variety Debes Roti & Doubles offer. I would have this gourmet pumpkin, spinach, channa, baighan tray with dhalpouri every other day, but...a sad but, the level of salt in the food is not ideal for good health outcomes. Had it not been the heavy salt in every vegetable recipe , I would give 5 stars

This is now my favourite take out place for curry chicken and roti. Each time I get great tasting fresh food. Sometimes I order for delivery as well. They come nice and hot,?I was so happy. I eat the same thing any time of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Visiting from NYC and ordered it to my hotel downtown. Super delicious, one of the more delicious rotis in Toronto, very moist and tender with a lovely, sweet tamarind sauce. The roti tasted like they just made it fresh on the pan. They also have their ratios down well - its a perfect balance of every ingredient. The vast majority of roti shops have way too much filling that it just becomes sloppy and overwhelming, but Debes put just the right amount to balance the taste of the filling and actual roti. I respect that. Also her roti skins are nice and thin with some chewy and harder textures that makes it a much nicer contrast with the filling. Most places fold their roti a million times and it is way too thick and overwhelming and just takes away from the taste of the filling. So ratios are very important with roti. Usually the hood rotis are the best. Years ago I frequented Rams Roti in Rexdale and it was the best I ever had but shut down a long time ago. Debes is similar to that.

I live for their Rotis. Especially the shrimp roti! I appreciate the service always. I dont even live in the area and go out of my way to get me some Debes.

Just had some lunch with my parents here and it was fantastic! We talked to Randy for a bit and glad to know we are supporting a fellow Penal Trini. With so many doubles place popping up (and not Trini people making it, so sorry its not authentic in my eyes) we have tried many and glad to finally find an actual authentic Debe Doubles place with fresh ingredients and value in the food. The Bara is not fat or rubbery like some we have had but its nice and thin and the channa is fresh not canned and not thick, instead its a nice texture and the chutneys are great too. If youre a Trini you know! Have found our new spot for Doubles, Saheena and Aloo Pie, which is all we tried this visit but will definitely be back to try some more items. The place is also very clean and well kept! The name is very fitting and I hope they keep up the good cooking!

I am very disappointed with them. I ordered a curry chicken bone in with white rice which come with a pop and a double #15. Upon arrival to my disappointment the chicken and white was I the smallest form plate you can find in a restaurant not enough for even a kid to eat with three small pieces of curry chicken and about three table spoon of white rice and a small double and I can of ginger ale thats what came to $15. Si, in all I paid $20 something. Really disappointed.

I will tell you as a Trinidadian from Ottawa the doubles are hands down as good as the ones on the island. And if you are willing try the Alou pie with the chickpea and chutney. Overall great service and Delicious food. Thank you

Certain things are good and Ill order again while others were not. For instance, their jerk chicken was very disappointing but Doubles were good.

I ordered the curry goat and it was absolutely delicious. The dhal puri was huge and flavorful also. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes Caribbean /West Indian food or wants to try it. Lastly.. Their meat is Halal which is also good for anyone who requires that option.

It was my boyfriend s first time trying authentic Caribbean/ Trini food so the kind lady working at the front gave him a free special soda that they re known for there. It was such a sweet gesture and got him excited for the food. Amazing customer service aside, these are the BEST DOUBLES I have ever tasted. They make all other doubles taste like sh*t. Their chicken roti almost bought me to tears because of how perfectly flakey the roti was + how well marinated the chicken was. I cannot wait to return here, my boyfriend is now obsessed with this kind of food but only wants to eat it here. THANK YOU FOR THE BEST FOOD!

Out of a desire to support small businesses during the pandemic and a palette for Caribbean food, I made an order with Debe s Roti and Doubles through the UberEats app. Due to an allergy to both chicken and potatoes, I asked for these ingredients to be substituted with the other ingredients in my Fete Roti with dhalpurie roti order ($19.99). The Fete Roti is prepared with a mixture of boneless curry goat, boneless curry chicken, and curry shrimp wrapped with the clients choice of dhalpurie or paratha. It says on the UberEats app that the dhalpurie roti is filled with yellow split peas while the paratha roti is a plain roti. Minutes after placing my order, I received a call from one of the staff members at the restaurant. I was told that I would receive a reduced portion of meat because the restaurant is unwilling to provide more of the goat/shrimp as a substitute for the chicken. I was also told that the Fete Roti comes with potatoes, the dhal is actually embedded in the dhalpurie roti itself (the dhal is not a filling, as is advertised), and the restaurant is unwilling to substitute dhal for the potatoes. So, I offered to go instead with the goat roti for $15.99 and requested to have a small portion of the dhal on the side to make up the difference of $4.00 (a full portion of dhal on the side is $4.99). After making this suggestion, the staff member told me that he would need to reach out to the owner. Shortly thereafter, I received an automated text message that my order has been cancelled. This second experience with the restaurant was very disappointing: The individual seemed very stuck in his ways and unwilling to listen to reasonable alternatives. I was also frequently interrupted as I spoke with him, and he kept on pushing towards cancelling the order and having me reorder (with goat roti alone and a side of dhal). The staff member also did not have the courtesy to follow-up with me to tell me what the owner had said. Based on the service that I received, I chose not to reorder from this restaurant today, and it is very unlikely that I will be ordering anything from this restaurant again in the future. Follow-up Response to Owners Comments: Thank you for your reply the salt fish order was very simple in that all that was requested was the removal of the tomatoes from the bake and salt fish. Today s order was a true test to your commitment to customer service. Regarding your reply to my chicken allergy, please kindly read my original review carefully, particularly with regards to the alternatives that I offered. Again, regarding your statement that there also seems to be a lack of misunderstanding on your part as to what dhalpurie is, please read my original review carefully. It is not the matter of misunderstanding what dhalpurie is; it is the fact that the app states that the dhalpurie roti will come filled with yellow split peas (aka dhal). I do not think that you fully understand what I was saying in my review. Just as your staff member responded in a manner that was dismissive, you seem to be doing the same here with your sarcastic, borderline cocky response. I am not at all frustrated; I am just disappointed by the manner in which I was treated (and your follow-up response has done nothing to improve my overall experience). People are not obliged to order from your restaurant during this pandemic, so, when they do, please show at least an ounce of gratitude and a little compassion. Thanks!

I ordered the chicken roti boneless and a double. Note that the boneless chicken is chicken breast so I do wish I said bone in because I prefer dark meat because breast is a bit chewy. The flavor of the curry is so delicious I asked for hot sauce on the side and honestly the food is flavorful enough I did not need spice I did however try the hot sauce and it is extremely hot if youve ever had West Indian food you know that linger it leaves behind The double was good too the dough was a little bit thick for me. if I had to choose I would definitely do the roti over the double and the portions are huge definitely worth the price

The few times Ive ordered I havent been disappointed yet! Food is always so good. Such a great spot to fill my cravings for doubles and roti. I love that they dont use plastic packaging but rather paper. Their website is full of info about the items and Im happy I can order ahead of time and come to pick up. Happy I can order directly from them instead of losing their revenue to Skip or Uber

I have came to this lovely establishment about 20 times, not sure what took so long to leave a review, but here goes! I moved to the Jane and Finch location from the city s east end in the beginning of March, and set my sites on finding some neighbourhood gems that I can visit when I don t feel like cooking. In the first week I drove past this place, quickly googled it (always use Google reviews for everything) and was quite pleased with all that I was reading, I had to check it out. I was absolutely not disappointed, everything I read was accurate. In first to 4th visit had boneless chicken and the boneless goat roti, which were truly amazing! Then said to myself these were so good let me try the doubles and the rest of the dishes. Doubles were incredible, and so far I have also tried the stew chicken and macaroni which had me licking the container. Then went on to try the shark and bake that left me wanting more. This is a family run business that truly puts there heart into the food! They are all very pleasant here, and you can tell they appreciate the business. Everything is so delicious, I look forward to trying the rest of the menu, and am so happy I found this place. Keep up the good work guys

Hidden gem tucked away! Doubles were big, delicious, worth the price (buy 5, get a 6th free). Chutneys were excellent. Veggie platter - lots of variety with a nice paratha on the side. Took a couple of extra paratha to freeze and enjoy later... Authentic vibe, soca music blaring. Great to see a local joint thriving - not from the area but will make the trip from Mississauga whenever Im in the area. A place you wanna get to know! Thank you Debes.

We have been to Trinidad twice and let me tell you these doubles are as good or better than we had from the restaurants and karts in Trinidad. My wife picked some up today and brought them back to Cambridge for me. We now know where to go when were missing Trinidad. Thank you so much for the authentic foods from the south.

Our family is always on the hunt for re l good, authentic Trini food. We stumbled on Debe s on UberEats and it has become our go-to! The food sweeeeet! The portions, flavours, toppings, options and even packaging are perfect and impressed us! Grateful to find this gem!

My first time eating here so I decided to start off with the plain doubles. The bread tasted fresh while the channa masala inside was spicy as requested by me. I will definitely return here for their doubles, especially when I m on a budget. The only put off about this place is the plaza in which this take-out spot is located which looks very shady.

Their meals are extremely delicious and never disappoint and theyre never stingy they always deliver full portions.

Their hot/spicy doubles are -divine-! Ive tried at least twenty doubles from across north Etobicoke and North York, and these are by far the best. Ive started saving my spare change in a jar just to take my girl and I out to get doubles every week. These make life just that much better :)

10/10. Authentic, flavourful and didnt miss a single beat in terms of reaching my expectations. I have NEVER had such good curry and roti in Canada. Tastes just like trinidad Im a fatty and the roti was more than enough. Even the special size roti is quite filling, and thats coming from someone who takes great pride in stuffing their guts. Aloo pie and chicken doubles are great as well. We will be back, often!

Just dont get that macaroni pie and stew chicken, for $10:50 u get a small piece of pie and 2 pieces of chicken, on top of that it doesnt taste good. They shouldnt have that name thats an insult

Very nice people and service, but food was meh. Doubles bara and pholourie, while large were very dense, and the could have used more seasoning and and tamarind. Dhalpourie filling were good, but the dhalpourie tasted a little different than usual

If you grew up eating doubles in Trinidad, making doubles at home, and know what doubles should taste like..this is NOT the place to go. It tastes like its seasoned heavily with MSG. Just awful. I had to throw the doubles away. This was the most disappointing doubles Ive ever had in my life.

Had a goat roti and it has to be the most delicious thing Ive eaten in months. Absolutely huge, so itll be breakfast as well. INCREDIBLE.

This review will speak to not only the delicious food, but the wonderful family and love and good vibes its prepared with. My late hubs and I would come here every Tuesday for the 2 for 1 special. When he passed away unexpectedly this wonderful family catered for his wake with the delicious food he always loved. Debes is the BOMB. Soul food for real. Doubles , Currys and mi personal fave veggie Roti are all amazing with beyond generous portions. Im super happy they have opened another location and cant wait to visit with the fam. Love you guys long time

Great doubles! We asked for the chana and bara to be wrapped separately so we could freeze it and bring it on the airplane home. Even after being frozen for a month, those doubles were delicious. The woman at the register was so friendly. The place on Steeles was very nice inside, clean and fun looking. Will absolutely be back to try out some other dishes the next time I am in Toronto.

First time visiting your restaurant this week! Firstly Must say this is a very small hide away gem! I was unsure of what to try as it was my first time, the gentle man offered me a double, a piece of goat and a piece of boneless curry chicken to try. Upon trying these my taste buds went through the roof! I got 6 doubles medium spicy with the tamarind sauce, a boneless goat roti in dhalpuri and a boneless chicken roti. The flavors are very unique and authentic. I was convinced to try the pholorie balls, fried spinach rolls and a potato pie, was worth the cost i paid! I am still wondering how the heck i was convinced to spend so much of my money lol. But none the less i will be back! Maybe next time i will try the shrimp roti as you said and the lamb. Best customer service for my first time. The tall guy who took my order was so chill and customer oriented. I love your style of cooking, i can tell that the food is made with love. I will definitely recommend this place!

Taste like home. Amazing aloo pie and chicken roti. Came all the way from downtown in the freezing cold for this and will definitely go back for more. Also invited my Polish friend to try roti for the first time and she loved it!!!!
