Had takeout. All dishes were delicious and nice fresh vegetables in all dishes and great variety in the chop suey. The decor could use a refresh, but friendly service all the same.
Smelled better than it tasted. Tasted the way it looked. General Tso and kung pow chicken was mushy and felt like the chicken was old and chewy. First time having broccoli in wonton soup - weird. All in all not very good. Sorry
Really enjoyed the egg noodle I had here. Great family run business. Thanks for changing my quarters into a dollar! Glad I came back :)
The service was good and the food was overall good. The side dishes weren’t the best and tasted stale, except for the savoury fried dumplings. Main dishes made up for the sides though. Overall I’m satisfied and would definitely come back for another Oder!
Great food, great value, friendly staff. The restaurant interior is nothing special but it's ideal as take-out or delivery via SkipTheDishes. I love the tofu and eggplant dish, which actually includes many different vegetables. The tofu is that puffy fried kind. The hot and sour soup is also the best I've tried! Not gloopy and the flavour is more developed than I would have expected. A new favourite of mine on Bloor St. W.
One of the few Chinese food restaurants in the High Park area (Bloor West Village). Food is reasonable - size, taste, quality and hits the spot. They also offer limited selection of Dim Sum. Parking is available in their small lot at the front. Take-out offered. #letsguide
This is a little local favourite on Bloor St West. It’s ran by some incredibly nice people and the food is great. My favourite usual is the seafood soup with mixed veggies + spinach dumplings. If you never have, I recommend you try them with vinegar! Other favourites are beef + broccoli and shrimp dumplings.
Support Local! This is a little Gem along BloorWEST Village!! Food is yummy and they have a cute little restaurant if you want to dine in. They also have a variety of daily specials. The family that owns this restaurant is really nice!
It s was just ok. Food was fresh and good portion but bland and I ve had better from the food court. I won t order again.
This was my first order and delivery. Lunch for 4 was my order. Everything was fresh, large portions and delicious. Highly recommend Delights of China. Food : 5/5 |
Food was good but when we were dining in there was a lady starting at us the whole time. It was very uncomfortable. She looked like the owners parent. It made the experience of this place very unpleasant
It s a great hole in the wall. Good food at an affordable cost. I happened upon it one day because the place I normally go to was closed. I even redownloaded skip to I could get food from there delivered. Parking: There is a small parking lot in from the building if it s full you ll need to find street parking near by
Service is very good best Chinese food I ve ever had.
I loved my dine here. Food was great, serivce was fast and friendly, place was nice and delightful.
The food was very tasty and the place was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend
The staff is friendly, the place is quiet but the food leaves a lot to be desired... I ordered rice and chicken and the truth is that the meat was super hard, I hurt my teeth and the taste of both the rice and the meat was bad, the texture It was ugly and left a very strange taste in my mouth for a moment I doubted I was eating chicken so I didnt finish my meal they asked me if I wanted to take it home but I just said no thanks. I left very disappointed
Amazing Shanghai noodles, have been ordering them for months now and never regret it :)
I love getting the crispy ginger beef, bbq fried rice and the har gow. It s soo good!!
More cater to western style Asian food, not the traditional dim sum place we were looking for. Dim sums were not great, but the stir fry dishes were fine. The staffs were nice.
Ordered take out, party trays for a party and holy cannoli! the trays were massive and the portions were insane. One tray feeds 6-8...nope, unless they are super stoned and training , then yeah. You can feed about 10 for sure. $60+ for trays and they can create a tray from the main dishes. Super accommodating and the food is delicious, and even though I didnt dine in, I just know it would have been the same quality and great service. Thank you Alex and you guys are the delight!
Best Asian restaurant in Bloor West Village.
Great portions, well priced, delicious food, and hot even though I left in the lobby for 7minutes. Only issue was that there was no receipt or indication the food delivered to my condo was from the restaurant. So when I went to the lobby I had to open up the bag and food containers to ensure it was mine before taking it up. Would ve been awkward if someone caught me opening their food delivery mistakenly. A simple receipt or name labelled would ve been enough to solve this issue.
This place is a staple in Bloor West Village - it s been here longer than i can remember. I ve ordered off and on from here for years, but this time was the absolute best! And it s New Years so my expectations were lower than normal due to the volume they must be experiencing. The cashew shrimp dish was delicious and the fried rice had a nice level of spice I wasn t expecting. It s so nice to be pleasantly surprised! Thanks for a lovely meal!
Not bad but also not particularly flavorful
I order regularly but the last 4 times the food has been disgusting.
Very nice lady. Great food. I had Singapore noodle. I loved it. Came back again
I ordered a takeout and it was disappointing. even after trying to eat in instalments i had to throw away major portions. Too much turmeric in their noodles and too bland chicken (orange).
Was with with my husband and kids ... overwhelmed hidden gem of bloor street ! Really hard to find a good Chinese food place in the west end ....but this was amazing always craving a good chicken corn soup ...and this was off the hook .. PERFECT! All the food was Perfectly done ! ...love the crispy ginger beef had to take some to go ! And omg staff feel like home ... amazing experience for my kids a and family ..thank you for giving us a great end to our Friday night see you again soon
Worst Chinese food I have ever had. 0 flavour, overcooked and dry. Waste of alot of money spent. Do not order here.
Little store in Etobicoke that my dad always orders for us and the food is amazing! I don t find anything compares in Durham to these guys! Definitely recommend and would tell anyone who s craving Chinese food to come here! We order the Cantonese chow mein & crispy ginger beef. Also the staff are incredibly friendly & professional and the food is made fresh! Not a long wait either
I love their food! I try something new every time and have never been disappointed!
Food was excellent even got some freebies!
I eat at a lot of restaurants, and being vegan, its often tricky to find good meals at non-veg restaurants. But this place is a real gem not only for vegans, but for anyone of any dietary style. The place is run by two brothers and their mother, so theyre super accommodating when it comes to modifying the dishes. I usually get the lunch special and for about $12 I get a generous plate of broccoli, mushroom and tofu (instead of the beef) in black bean sauce with a large pyramid of rice. Its absolutely delicious and filling. Usually I go with friends who arent vegetarian and Ive seen them get everything from lemon chicken to shrimp with lobster sauce, and each time, no matter which friend Im with, theyre impressed by the price, portion size, and yumminess of the food. Theyre kind of tucked away beside the No Frills on Bloor near Runnymede station, and I think thats making it hard for them to survive. You just dont notice them when youre walking by. With so many small businesses struggling, though, I strongly encourage you to give this place a try. You wont regret it.
Crispy ginger beef portion size was sad for its value, no side rice.
I ordered for delivery. The food is just perfect. Great textures, great flavour and great portions.
Delicious food, great portion, friendly staff
Had a very amazing experience. A colleague recommended this establishment and i was greeted by some excellent customer service from a young man(i forgot to get his name). The food taste and presentation were fantastic and the price was very reasonable. I highly encourage a visit if youve never been. Ill definitely be going back.
Weird. I would not let someone else order for me from there again.
Wonderful service and amazing food. Always very accommodating and nice to me. I will keep supporting their business as much as possible.
Please please go to Delights of China and order from their menu. It is the best and most tasty and delicious food. The staff were really friendly and had our order waiting. We ordered a large meal with about 7 or 8 dishes including meat and vegetable dishes and each were excellent. My favorite is the Shanghai Noodles. Go! Eat! You will not be disappointed! Well done and thank you for making excellent food in these difficult times.
Meh
Best in the hood now, some are saying.
Huge portions on their dinner for one options and great food for the value... wish they would stay open a little later... theyd get more business from me.
Everything perfect! From the service to the food!!! Absolutely stunning!!!! Love it love it love it!!!!! Thank you
Food was great, staff was very nice
Our favourite Chinese Food place (Lucky Chinese Food) closed last month because the owner retired. We tried another place, but werent impressed. Today we tried Delights of China and indeed we were delighted! This will definately be our go-to place now!
We ordered Delights of China through Skip the Dishes. They had forgotten to pack our appetizers with our order, they noticed the error and called us to arrange to deliver the appetizers to us directly. Great customer service! The food is tasty and the portion sizes are generous. Would recommend!
Very tasty, friendly atmosphere
Great food great prices and even great delivery prices if you order on the other services. The food is really good like I really appreciate that who ever is in the kitchen really knows how to stir fry veggies to make them crisp and tasty. If I where to ask for one more thing it would be for a brown rice fried rice option so I could eat here more often as the veggie fried rice is amazing just i struggle to eat non whole grain grains.
Great service however i find it to be very expensive for the quality. Its tasty but its just average north American chinese. Not a nice place to dine in better for take out. Decent portions.
Fast service and tasty Chinese food
I love that the vegetables are still crispy. Nice flavors and good quality for price
Very good service and awesome food
Mmm
Amazing place! The delivery service is amazing!!!
Good quality and consistent food (5 year customer) good portions and price. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
Spicy wings and green beans
I have become a regular at this place. Doesnt look like much, but clean and quiet to eat-in. Fast service and great food. Excellent value for your money.
Words cant describe how terrible of an experienced this has been with all honesty apart from the driver completely losing their way from skipped the dishes when my food finally came it was cold the order was wrong I got something I shouldnt have they forgot to cook the noodles into the Cantonese noodles so It was just a pile of rock hard burnt noodles and the food was so I dont know how to describe it just did not taste well Im sorry but will not eat from here nor recommend this to anybody
Tasty and delicious food
The best Chinese food in Bloor West Village. A favourite of my wife and I. Fresh Chinese food well prepared with friendly service. A quality family restaurant and our first choice for takeout:
Great food, friendly and fast service, and large portions. Definitely my go to Chinese restaurant!
YOU SHOULD HAVE .....HOT POTS TOO ....!!!
Favourite place. Go Delights of China!
I have only ordered for delivery but the food is really good. One of the few Chinese Restaurants that has honey garlic chicken balls - a favourite of my husband.
Looking for a great nearby Chinese Restaurant in our area, and we found it! Excellent quality food arrived to our door. We ordered their dinner for 2 which came with Sweet & Sour Chicken, Plain fried rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls and 4 Spring Rolls. Impressed with how meaty the chicken balls were, filled with lots of white meat and little batter. Sweet and Sour Chicken dish was excellent with carrots. I would highly recommend this place as they will adjust your dish the way you want it, and their delivery was good. High in service!! We are definitely make this our go to place for Chinese Food!
Yesterday, I ordered Szechuan noodles from the restaurant. It was terrible and not even were tasting like the real Szechuan Chinese Noodles. A complete waste of Hard-Earned money.
this place is AMAZING!!! they have the best service and are always so kind. definitely recommend the tofu and vegetable fried noodles. yum!!
Delicious food and excellent service. 10/10 would recommend!
The Worst Chinese Food that Ive had in my life. Period. The place had a bad stench once you enter. We were walking by this place and thought of trying out their dumplings. We ordered like 4 type of dumplings ($5 for 3 small umplings by the way- paid around $25 in total). The dumplings were tasteless and we had to keep dipping them into sauce to get some flavor. Never going back there.
The food from here has always been excellent! Unfortunately, it is only available for delivery through Skip the Dishes, which I refuse to use because of Skip the Dishes absolutely terrible customer service. I will gladly order again if the restaurant delivers directly or starts using Uber Eats.
Without a doubt the best Chinese food in the High Park area. Im so happy youre back open, thank you!! The Shanghai noodles and general tsos chicken are my favorite, but everything Ive ordered from you is good. I love you so much.
The best Chinese food that I have tried in Toronto
I was craving a noodle dish from back home. My husband went to the restaurant to see. They had it. It wasn t in the menu. But the Chef came out and asked him about the dish. He even offered my husband a choice of three noodles. He made us the noodle dish and it was awesome. It made my day ! The ingredients were so fresh. The food was amazing and the service even better
Food was very average. Dumplings were hard and no taste. Shanghai noodles very dry. Oh well
Tasty and large portions. Only gotten delivery, but its always been good.
good portions for price and good taste
I have ordered from this restaurant through Skip the Dishes many times and the food has been so good, same the delivery, great timing. Today I ordered through Door Dash and it was really bad. Ordered a won ton soup, have never seen a brown won ton soup before, the taste was not good, the wontons were horrible! The dough was big, smoochy and even sticky. The sweet and sour chicken with pineapple had very tiny 4 pieces of pineapple and the flavour in general was not good. I asked for 4 different dishes and none of them had the flavour nor the quality they gave me before. I spent over $40 on food I wont eat. Not sure what happened but Ill think twice before asking again. I hope I dont get sick. Not sure if Door Dash was the problem...
Good tasty chinese food
Was able to receive a timely delivery today, during a crazy workday for a fleet of coworkers, and also while the snow was coming down. Everything was so fresh and perfect and for great value, we all couldn t have been any more impressed with the great service we received!
Food was well prepared and tasty. Take out service was prompt and friendly. We have been looking for a neighbourhood Chinese restaurant after our regular closed. I think weve found it at Delights of China.
They don t answer the phone to make orders.
Tasty options!! Ordered two times and both times have been great.
Food was quite good with generous portions. The service was brusque and unfriendly. Ill definitely go back.
I order take out frequently from here. Solid, great tasting food and generous portion.
I ordered takeout, specifically the orange chicken, wonton soup, and some lo mein, all of it tasted good. Didnt blow my mind or anything but everything was what I was looking for and will happily order again from them.
disgusting food
Generous portions. Average food but not bad. Pretty cheap. Employee was raging all over the place about something but he didnt let it affect his serving at least. Might come back. Not a lot of chinese in the area.
Best Chinese food in etobicoke. Ive had so many but none compares to these guys. Absolutely loved the spicy wings and the Beef lo mein was excellent. Portions were a good size .
This is our go to place when we are hankering for chinese, everything is prompt, Noodles are crunchy and fresh, generous veges that goes with it, general tao is on point. Service is good
I would not order from this place. The staff seemed nice but unfortunately the food I picked up was stale and borderline rotten. Not good quality Chinese food unfortunately.
Not even a worth of one star. I havent seen a rude service like this anywhere on this globe. I went there last week one evening, tired from work and had no energy to go home and cook and this place was very close to subway and man, I regretted the decision, the waiter cum service guy was visibly upset to see I was all by myself as if he had to work extra for just one customer, he was disinterested in taking the order. the food finally arrived and for some reason has no salt in it, when I called for him , he literally yelled at me asking me to wait, then it was my turn to be a little rude and seeing my this avtaar, he tone himself down. Usually even if I dont like the food, just for the sake of service provided, I hand out at least 10% of tip, but I didnt give this guy a pennie. Will never go there agian
I ordered deep fried shrimp and squid. The squid seemed a bit overcooked but the shrimp were delicious. Which is unfortunate because I originally decided to order because I wanted to eat deep fried squid. Other than being overcooked and a tad bit greasy, I wish it came with fresh vegetables that would be able to absorb some of that oil. I ordered my food during the dinner rush, so that may have contributed to the underwhelming squid. I didnt eat this in store or order delivery, so I cant speak on that. I can say that I did have a good experience with their customer service. Ill probably go there again and order something else next time.
Food is good if you can order it. You cannot call them (never get through). Even if you want to pick up yourself you need go through the skip the dishes company. I was charged an automatic driver tip on an order I picked up. I was given credit by Skip the dishes after a number of emails. The next time that credit went on the delivery fee not to the driver. The food is good but too much trouble. Will not order again
We ordered the chow mein, general tso and har gao dumplings and it was delicious!!
Average Food. Good Service. This restaurant is a fine option if you are in the area and craving Chinese food.
Upon first glance, the spot is out of the way in the shadow of the gigantic No Frills next door. The modern Chinese restaurant boasts nothing new on the menu. The establishment serves both popular Western and native tastes of this Asian dining experience. The menu is plentiful and offering dim sum. The noodles I ordered we served hot and fresh off the wok. The steamed dishes do fee they were steamed with their wooden tray. The sui mai here is very flavourful while the lo mein was a bit basic in terms of taste. The Bloor West Village doesnt have much in terms of mom and pop restaurants. This out of the way, quiet dining room does offer refuge from the the bustle small town feeling.
Quite decent!! Honest price.
Very fast and nice people
Dont call, just pick the food up. Recommended: house fried rice and the fried noodles.
Best Chicken corn soup and Zuozong chicken ever!
Cantonese chow mein was bland, however the chicken wings were great!
Good food, rude service. I placed an order for pick up online, I thought I had enough cash on me so I chose that option. Turns out I didnt have enough and I know thats my bad but when I got to the restaurant and told the man working the counter my mistake and asked to pay by card instead, he got quite huffy with me and practically shoved the machine in my face then proceeded to practically throw it down when I handed it back. Not the best way to treat a paying customer!
Some of the best and freshest Chinese delivery Ive had!
Good quality and portion sizes. Love the string beans. Poor atmosphere for eating in. Wouldnt take much to improve it.
Excellent Chinese delivery that has long been missing from this area. Food is delicious and always fresh! Highly recommend this new hidden gem!
Weve been looking for good Chinese food in the hood for a while, so decided to try this place. We went in with very little time and the server confirmed they could work with our schedule. He even went so far as to give us reminders as to what the time was, and when we had to leave. Food was fantastic. We ordered: veggie dumplings, salt & pepper tofu (more mild than we anticipated), vegetable szechuan noodles (amazing), stir fried mixed vegetables (also very good), lemon chicken and sweet & sour pork. The vegetarian in our group was somewhat disappointed in the lack of variety of tofu dishes; that being said, we all enjoyed the meal. We will go back. Often.
Terrible food, somehow worse customer service. Food is over-cooked, soggy. Also, one of the guys working there (chubby, miserable, e-sports type) was talking about me not realizing that Im well versed in canto profanity. Specifically said to me: Diu Nein Lo Mo (F my Mother). Blown away with the disrespect and the fact that people eat this junk. Never going back there, spend your money literally anywhere else in the neighbourhood and youll be alright.
This place is great to eat in. But if yur order take out they have the same great Dim Sum but DO NOT INLCUDE Dim Sum sauce. I asked when I ordered take out and explained repeatedly the difference - spoke to 3 different people there to make my point - but either refuse or dont get it.Too bad, for an otherwise great place.
Loved the DimSum!!
This is a solid 4.5 stars. Food was great, service was fast.
Our family Chinese restaurant We order from Delights of China about every two or three weeks. The food is consistently good and freshly prepared. The value is extremely good and our kids love it. Were very happy to have this restaurant in our neighbourhood.
We had to order from here after reading the one negative review that had us laughing! (Ironic since it was supposed to deter people) Too funny! I love a place with spunk! The guy who posted it must have been pretty rude to receive the unfair service he claims he received... the customer is not always right. And you know What? The food is great! The service we received was great! Definitely going to eat here again!
Really good !!
We went here because we had a hard time finding good Chinese food in the area, and saw the great reviews. We were blown away! The sesame chicken, honey garlic chicken balls, stir fried broccoli, and simple chicken fried rice were absolutely perfect, and the best weve had. The portions were massive (4 dishes left us with 6 meals) and service was fast and pleasant. Its in a great location, too. Well be coming back again and again!
Food is bland and greasy. There website under beverages says Coke but i got 2 warm cans of Pepsi. The food was hot.I dont like Pepsi.
Very good food! We went for lunch in a group of four and ordered two types of dumplings, fried rice, fried noodles with veggies, a tofu & eggplant dish, curry chicken with rice, and a spicy beef dish. We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything was served. Every dish was tasty, large, and very well prepared. Nothing to complain about. The bill was under $80 before tip for all this food, and we got two takeout boxes because we couldnt finish it all. Very affordable. The only little thing not quite perfect was no free tap water or tea. We got a whole pot for $2, and it was fine for the four of us, but free water is pretty standard in most places, so its worth considering.
