Strong 4 rating. Amazing food at great prices. Quality is top notch. Caesar is plentiful and tastes so fresh. Definitely amongst the best in the city. Cheeseburger was something else as well. Medium rare burger just covered in cheese was absolutely fantastic. Lemon tart and soft serve ice cream was great as well. Looking forward to going back. May 14 2024: went back this evening and have to say it stayed very consistent. Still great food and drinks.

Didnt eat but the kitchen looked super busy and food was flying out of there at breakneck speeds. Outstanding staff. Great warm welcome as we walked in the door. Sat at the bar and enjoying watching the Bar tender mix up a few of their signature cocktails. And wow they didnt disappoint. The Rino Kondo was like drinking a rinse bouche, I could have sat there and drank those all evening. One Two Punch was also stellar. Sloppy Rummers damn good as well. Look forward to the next visit to try out some from the food Menu.

I went to Dottys for the second time this past Friday with my partner, love the food and everything this place is all about. Its nice to see how lively it is for a neighbourhood spot. The food is simple, done right. Unfortunately, like some of the other reviews here, I do have to agree the service has felt rushed on both times dining at Dottys. I arrived while my partner was finishing up a work call in our parked car nearby and went in alone to check on availability. The person who greeted me was super kind to offer to pop some menus down for us at some seats while I grabbed him from the car. When we came back one minute later, there was a bit of a shuffle and our seats ended up being given to another couple, but no worries at all, because we got a great seat at the bar. What was a bummer to me was to see how the staff responded to the incident and to overhear the manager speak pretty tersely to the server who had greeted me initially. The person who ended up as our main server also ended up being pretty cold until we were paying the bill and about to be out of their hair (we probably were there for an hour). Its worth mentioning that the server who put menus down for us did come over to apologize and check-on us. She was really lovely. Its a small restaurant, I get everyone is busy and it was a Friday, Ill be back, it would just be nice to feel some more kindness from the space.

Top spot in the junction. Phenomenal food, friendly, attentive staff, good energy and music while not being too busy or loud. They also have real French cider by the glass, the really bretty kind thats hard to find. 10/10 will go again.

About our experience The goods first and the bads later... The Goods - Had both a wonderful atmosphere and service. Was truly inviting, a casual but upscale restaurant with a touch of family feeling. The Bads - There needs to be more than meets the eye! Trout w Beans: would have been so good if only they werent drenched in a pool of butter which sounds good but after the first bite was actually kind of disgusting. The Burger: was small and super basic. A few steps up from McDonalds, with more sauce. I dont even think the cheese was real, rather, I think they had fake and real cheddar maybe to give that familiar fast food flavour? But then they charged us 20$ for just the burger, no side. Over priced for sure. The Burrata w beets and pistachios: was actually the best option. I wish I had ordered that. Though it comes up as a family restaurant in a search and has that feeling when you walk in, it isnt truly accommodating to kids who need highchairs or boosters. I think Id only go back for drinks and atmosphere.

I just want to start off by saying the staff was amazing! Service was great and the place was pristine! Not a speck of dirt in sight, everything was perfectly lined up and facing the same direction, probably the cleanest restaurant in Toronto. I came in for an after work drink and snack. I had a delicious glass of red wine from Argentina. I ordered the French salami (ooh la la) and cheese and crackers. They literally came out with Ritz crackers, Spicy Cheeze Whiz and Mastro pre-packaged salami from No Frills. This is the first time I felt the need to burst out laughing while being served food. I thought I was getting Punkd I started looking around for a camera or I was on some Just For Laughs gag reel. This is a common problem with Toronto restaurants. Great on presentation, poor on delivery. This would not survive a week in New York City. Us Canadians are too friendly and just let this stuff pass. I admit I might have ordered the two worst things on the menu and the other stuff might have been great, but I dont know if Im going to try again...maybe just for drinks. This place has potential, just fix the kitchen.

Genuinely the best place in Toronto right now. Food, service, vibes, all on point. Menu stays interesting but also doesn t cut the hits you come back for. Chicken sandwich and fries with malt vinegar mayo are can t misses. Drinks are phenomenal, including the non alcoholic. Don t miss the soft serve. It s the first place I tell anyone out of town to go.

Just straight up excellent. Dotty s is a gift. We ve visited almost every other week since they opened and will never tire of it. I love the cheeky simplicity of the steak or the burger on a plate. It takes confidence and they nail it every time. Front of house is that impossibly perfect mix of convivial and professional. Much love to this solid team.

Lovely place and staff. Steak and ceaser salad were so delicious! Cocktails are great. The best part - chef s attention to detail. We were out of crackers for our cheese plate, he saw it and brought us crackers himself. We will be back!

Dotty s is a gem! Friendly servers, cute interior and really really good food. Recommend the cheese and crackers, cod with creamed shishitos and the delicious chocolate soft serve. The house salad was also fresh with various welcome sweet elements. No reservations, but we didn t have to wait on a Friday evening. Service was perhaps a touch slow, but we weren t in a rush and their friendliness made up for it. Recommend for a great evening with friends!

A small revelation of a space. Basic food but elevated is a tired phrase but I dont know if Ive been somewhere where that concept was more appropriate -- we had a burger, some cod with creamed peppers, and pimento cheese with Ritz crackers. Simple seeming, but everything was above and beyond flavor wise. The bartender was friendly as hell, drinks were tasty, and I got another order of the cheese to go. Cant wait to go back.

4.5. Loved our experience at Dotty s! No reservations, but we walked in close to 8pm on Saturday night and were able to get a table. Be mindful you may have to park a bit of a walk away. Space is minimalist in vibe, but warm and vibrant. The cocktails and mocktails were absolutely amazing- loved the pina colada- am dreaming about it. The food was great - fun to share and try lots of things. Highlights were the the cod, the steak, and the fried squash with ricotta! The French fries came with a malt vinegar Mayo that was delicious. They change up their menu so it s fun to visit seasonally and try out the various offerings. Bathrooms are on the lower level.

Great little restaurant. Need another bartender in this busy spot, though.

Dottys has my favourite burger in the city. We have a young toddler and the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Amazing quality food in a friendly, bright, and welcoming space. Grateful to have them in the neighborhood. Kid-friendliness: Not easy dining out with a toddler. The staff go out of their way to help and accommodate.

Everything is prepared with care, great presentation and flavours. Favourites were the pimento (addictive af), the seared squid, and the Dottys ginger beer was so yummy! Service was attentive and lovely, and the space was nicely lit. Thanks Chef Jay!

The restaurant is lively and the service was good. We were a group of 4 and ordered burgers, fries, the fish, chicken tenders, a Caesar salad and a Greek salad with strawberry rhubarb ice cream for dessert. The burgers were fine, but nothing special. Charging $18 for a small burger on a Wonderbread bun is a bit steep. A burger and fries comes to $27. I rather go to Botham s in the Junction for a much better burger. The chicken tenders ($23) were okay, but a bit dry and they didn t have much flavour. The strawberry soft serve ($10) had an artificial flavour but the rhubarb sauce was good. We liked the friendly service and they make a good cocktail but the taste of the food quite honestly did not match the high price tag.

We re new to the neighbourhood and decided to check out Dotty s and so glad we did. Food was delicious - we had the cod with creamed shishitos, burrata with asparagus, squid, cheese/crackers and soft serve. I have no complaints - everything was interesting (without being too off the board or pretentious), good portions, extremely fresh and great quality, and the flavours and food combos were all complimentary. Price is fair. Service stood out - the chef took a moment to stop and thank us on the way out (which seems small but it just added to the really approachable and transparent vibe about the place), staff were friendly, very attentive and quick and the place was full. We will definitely be back!

The food is alright, its small portions, basic foods, but pricey. So if youre not that hungry, youll be alright. It was also a different menu from what we saw online. Its great for cocktails though but I came expecting to dine.

Patio is nice. Burger was mediocre. The chicken sandwich tasted like the thighs were boiled. Still had the skin on with dry spices. Drinks were interesting

Its cute and simple in there. But wow the prices and portions are out of control. The audacity to serve 4 shrimp for 18$ and they werent jumbo shrimp. In the tiniest cup. The burger only had condiments and pickles for 18$. No sides. I dont know but theres other restaurants that do much better than this place. For sitting in to meet someone for drinks, not for trying to have a nice meal.

Squid 7.2 a bit over seasoned and tough and the olives didn t match well and were overpowering Cheeseburger 7.8 overcooked but tasty lots of meat despite it looking small Fries 9.4 crispy and fluffy and flavourful

The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Felt rushed throughout, but it was very busy, and the lineup was fairly large. The food was average, but the price was at the higher end! The atmosphere was nice but cramped, which took away from the overall experience. Overall, I was disappointed by the whole experience. It didnt live up to the hype or expectations. I would not recommend Dottys, and will not return.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Large portion of pimiento cheese and Ritz crackers, and huge spicy juicy chicken coco bread sandwich. Delicious and delightful kitchen. Bartender is very good. Evidence of any good place: they serve El Dorado 12. Sloppy rummers cocktail made with El Dorado 5 is strong and balanced. Service could improve. Not detail oriented nor warm. Main course arrived too quickly, cocktail spilled on the way over, water is self-serve, etc. They could benefit from some Jen Agg style training -- and then Dottys would be on track for award season. Small changes could make a big difference to customers feeling a sense of true hospitality. Great owners. Clearly focused on whats important specifically and big picture. Dine safe health inspector arrived and was treated hospitably during dinner service. Naturally, they passed with their second green light.

As one too often find fault in places. This restaurant blew it out of the water. The food was impeccable. Had one of the best steaks of my life, and the sides (Caesar salad, corn, and fries) were on a class of their own. Will definitely be recommending this place to friends in Toronto going forward. Only wish: Slightly more attentive service. Note: Tapas style. portions may seem small before you order but on arrival are fairly big. Kind of regret I didn t try more of the items on the menu. I went to Dottys with high expectations and what they delivered went even further. I would never be able to imagine a simple potato fry can be done that good. The cheeseburger is the best in Toronto. 100% satisfaction guaranteed on every single item on the menu.

Loved Dottys. Staff are very friendly and the food, delicious. They have one of the BEST Caesar salads. The fries are thick cut, love and the lemon pepper squid was so tender. My husband enjoyed the chicken sandwich. Lovely neighbourhood restaurant. I wish it was in mine!

What a lovely dinner at Dottys! I forgot to take pictures because everything was so good we attacked it as soon as it got to our table. Fresh produce, simple menu with something for everyone, complex flavours. Their Ouefs Mayo, Burrata, cheeseburger, steak are a must try. The hosts for the night were warm and courteous, we will be back for sure!

Stopped by on Friday and tbh youd never know it was opening night! Service, food and drinks were on point and it was a great value - which is rare to find these days. Id highly recommend it and definitely dont skip the brownie, its like a gorgeous black hole of intense chocolate. OMG. Super cute neighbourhood joint to meet friends or make new ones!

Came here yesterday after the wife gave me a recommendation. Stepped in was, greeted by Susan (lovely person) and eventually was greeted by James (believe he s the owner and head chef). I started with 76Fraser(think that what s it called) and it was amazing!!! Eventually we took some food home and by far worth the price. Amazing food, the flavours from the ingredients are a mouth explosion. It s family friendly as well. 10/10, will be going again!!!!

Absolutely loved my time here, and I can see myself coming here again and again. The menu looks simple but the dishes are done very well and speak for themselves. When Dandylion (the owners previous restaurant) closed we were so sad to see such a great restaurant go, but Dotty s has recaptured the essence of Dandylion with its tight but thoughtful menu.

Lovely dinner of steak and fries, burrata and housemade brownie! Their lambrusco is a must order! Staff was friendly and food came our promptly. Space is bright in a quiet setting.

Went to Dotty s as I ve been hearing so many incredible things about it. It did not disappoint. Food was just incredible, the staff is on point and very friendly and best of all, it is a great local hangout. Highly recommend it.

Staff was very friendly, but paying $8 for some Ritz crackers and cheese whiz, a good burger served with a wonder bread bun, and an egg served with miracle whip left me feeling like I got majorly ripped off. Wouldnt recommend and sorry just being honest. The people seem really nice but horribly overpriced for a basic menu of food that was not really cooked but more put together from store bought ingredients.

We had a wonderful experience dining at Dottys. The room is beautiful, great service and every bit of food we had was just incredible. Standouts were the salad, the eggs and squid. Very thoughtful and reasonably priced wine list and drinks menu. We will definitely be back.

The dishes are so simple, but done so well. I really enjoyed the lemon pepper squid and the fries - perfectly crisp yet fluffy on the inside. The space itself was also quite nice. Worth checking out.

Had a delicious and cozy anniversary dinner here. Great vibe, and the service was very warm. We had two cocktails, three small plates, and two large plates, which came to about $110, which was very reasonable for the quality. Get the fries!!
