Fantastic food and incredible service. Incredibly deserving of their Star and I hope to see them collect some more. True celebration of Canadian ingredients. The polished and refined but yet not “stuffy” service is truly a sight to behold and experience. Brilliant. Only negative is the rather elongated dinner service. It took around 4 hours from start to finish and I wish it would only be around 3. Incredible food though and I feel very lucky to be given the opportunity to dine here thanks to a last minute spot that opened up on their booking system.

Everything hype about this place is true, exceptional food and service. A Michelin star restaurant that doesn’t try too hard, none of the gimmicks. It is upscale without being pretentious. I am so glad we got the plate of ham to start, truly the best in the world. Our tasting menu was mostly seafood, so it wasn’t too heavy but satisfying and delicious.

Got the chance to experience this One Michelin star restaurant. Service was exceptional and amazing. Very cozy and ambiance appealing. The decor and the mushrooms accents were great. Our server was top notch, explaining the details of the 7 courses and complimentary amuse bouche, where selected etc. especially from their locally available garden. Time spent here was an experience.

Absolutely amazing experience. I came here 7 ish years ago and loved it then as I do now. It is much harder to get a reservation now that they have a star but I managed to get one to revisit an old favorite spot. The service is so warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was fitting and intimate. Each dish was very tasty and you were given the course of the entire evening to enjoy yourself. The menu always changes which is a delight. I really loved our first course in particular but the entire experience was excellent. Can't wait to come back for another special occasion!

Celebrated our anniversary at Edulis last night and it was hands down the best restaurant we’ve ever been too. Unmatched flavours, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend ordering the Joselito ham in addition to your set meal. We can’t wait to return!

Edulis mastered the combination of a sophisticated, delicious 6 course tasting menu with a homey and inviting atmosphere. For my birthday, they personalized the carte for me, which was a personal touch to make me feel special! The meals, which focused on fresh seafood and seasonal vegetables, offered a variety of flavours that left me and my partner eager to try the next dish! Our server was wonderful: easygoing, knowledgeable (providing us the background on the resto’s name Edulis), and happy to indulge in our photo taking at the end of the meal. I also highly respect the restaurant’s no tip ideology, as they pay their staff a fair and liveable wage at baseline. Altogether, I can easily understand how Edulis got their Michelin star and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to splurge for a special occasion!

Absolutely phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond, and were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food and where it was sourced from. The presentation was grade A, and the food itself was phenomenal. I have zero complaints. They even printed a personalized note and had it sitting on the table upon arrival as we had attended for my mother-in-laws' birthday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very homey and intimate. The experience from start to finish is exactly what I expect from a Michelin Star restaurant, if not more. Especially one in Toronto. This has been, BY FAR, the best restaurant experience I've had so far in Toronto.

A reservation at edulis is hard to secure and the second you walk in you know why. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming with tables for only 22 guests on any evening. When you sit down you are greeted with a welcome letter which is a really lovely touch. They really encourage conversation and so the atmosphere is lively without being loud. At no point in the evening do you feel rushed. They start with the drink menu, which includes a nice wine list, and a few add on selections. Once you settle in the meal begins. Each course was a unique combination of foods I love served in a way that I never experienced before. Each plate was incredibly thought out, from the sauces to the fresh vegetables to the seafood. Edulis' focus on seafood, vegetables and wild mushrooms shines making this one of the best tasting menus in the city! If you are looking for a restaurant that feels as welcoming as a home cooked meal and is as complex as you'd expect from some of the top chefs in the city, this is it.

There s a 20% auto-gratuity on the tasting menu, even for small parties like ours (just two people). In Canada, we tip based on service quality, and we should have the right to tip less if the service doesn t meet expectations. Servers here earn minimum wage, and tipping isn t mandatory. This policy feels like an attempt to exploit customers.

I visited him on a trip to Canada eight years ago when I was living in the United States. It has a cozy and homely atmosphere, and I could see the thoughtful attention to detail in the garden planting and entrance, which made me think, ``This is a good restaurant. And the food proved that my intuition was correct. No, it was more than I expected. The pork roast was served with rice cooked in shellfish stock, and I was shocked when I ate it. An explosion of flavor and an overflowing sense of happiness. Eight years later, I still remember it vividly. One of the best dishes Ive ever eaten in my life. Of course, all the items were excellent. The temperature of the dish, the cooking temperature, the sauce and toppings, everything is perfectly calculated and realized to perfection. As a side note, at the time, sitting next to me, an older man who appeared to be a professional chef was having a meal with a young man who appeared to be his apprentice, and was explaining the greatness of each dish. The taste was so good that my wife agreed, ``Its a level that even professionals come to learn from. If it were possible, I would like to go to Edulis again.

Let me start by saying we are very familiar with how tasting menus work and have dined at several Michelin rated spots in Toronto and US. Edulis does not deserve its Michelin ratings we were incredibly disappointed after being so excited to dine for ~1 yr. Both the food and service were below average and mediocre. We wanted to like Edulis but I cannot recommend especially for the price point. At $300+ pp there a far better options for fine dining in TO. The portions are small, as expected for fine dining but flavours are lack lustre and they rely on refilling bread constantly to keep guests satiated. This is not how you balance a 5-7 course tasting menu meal! Service was good until I commented that it had been 3.5 hours and we were still not done, and the waiter said well it s a tasting menu ; implying I wasn t familiar with the concept. Pls save your $$, don t believe the hype (restaurant is very small so limited seats which is why bookings go quickly). They run on a 5 person skeleton crew on purpose but this leaves guests with long 20-30 min gaps btwn courses. It s really not worth the price! What a shame, makes me wonder what happened post 2023 Michelin star two final things- we love seafood and the menu is heavy on that, so know that going in. And due to size, it gets quite noisy when full.

Very disappointing...filter out the five and four star reviews and you will get true representation of the restaurant. Small portions (which is expected), underwhelming flavors, long waits between courses (20 minutes plus, no exaggeration), average service at best...I could go on. As mentioned, the 1-2 Star Google reviews posted previous to mine are an accurate representation of our experience. We have now ate at the majority of Michelin Starred Restaurants in Toronto (along with a handful in the United States) and I can say without any doubt that Edulis should not be considered in the same class with these others. There are so many other superior options in Toronto.

We really wanted to like this place. It was incredibly difficult to get a table and it took a few months. Firstly, the service was OK and the optional extra Jamon and cheese course were both great. The drinks were also good. However, all of the rest of the food was bland and the portions were tiny. It also took forever with way too long in-between courses. Even with purchasing two extras, we were still hungry. The main event was a tiny sliver of chicken and a small piece of sausage. The lobster course was three very small pieces, it seemed like they used 1 lobster for the whole restaurant. Weve had tasting menus at many restaurants all over the world and just dont get the popularity of this one. Nothing special and I expect a tasting menu to be enough food without adding courses.

There is no brief way to describe how divine every meal I ve had the pleasure of enjoying over the years at Edulis has been. If there is such thing as a perfect restaurant- Edulis is it. Toby & Michael are beautiful and talented human beings, who have created a magical place that over delivers in every way possible. Calling it a restaurant barely does it justice. Every time I walk through those doors it feels like being welcomed into their home, and I get literal butterflies in anticipation of the (likely borderline life changing) meal I m in for. I m always so pleasantly surprised by how they remember all the little quirks and preferences of myself and my husband, and accomodate them without even being asked. We hosted our engagement party there years back, and the menu they created for it (without us having any hand in the process) was so personal it blew me away, and I remain touched by that act of hospitality to this day. I will likely never have any savings (sorry mom & dad) due to the absurd percentage of my income I spend dining out, and after many years of reckless (and, frankly, borderline financially catastrophic) gluttony- I can safely say there is simply no better dining experience than an evening or afternoon spent at Edulis. Dietary restrictions: They accomodate my loosely pescatarian diet with ease, but I don t imagine Edulis is the place for you if you are fully vegetarian or allergic to fish or shellfish.

Please note that my experience with Edulis Restaurant was very limited, but it basically ended at the beginning. This appears to be an establishment that does not respond to e-mails. I was planning to dine with them and sent an e-mail inquiring about their wine corkage policy. Having received no response after a few days, I sent a follow up. It has now been seven days. No response. Im sure the cuisine is outstanding but if the level of service is so low how do customers even get in the door? I would be pleased to reassess my evaluation if Edulis would like to reach out. Thank you!

290 after tax and mandatory gratuity. The food I liked I really liked. The food I didn t like was mediocre at best. The services was excellent, atmosphere was cool aswell. The extra menus that bookmarked my deal with expensive additional food items, including the desert options is something I didn t expect to see so much of given the cost of the experience and the premise being a set menu where I don t have to deal with menu options. Very good restaurant but given the inconsistency with the courses, and the strange amount of additional options I can t give it a 5 for food.

A 6 courses set meal that does not include desserts. $18 for that scoop of blood orange sorbet, it did taste good but was it worth $18? I dont know. First, lets talk about the lobster, it was super fishy ,the sauce made it even more fishy, did not enjoy it. The red veal with tuna tartare stuffed with milk bread ,topped with caviar, that was delicious. Next, seabream, the fish itself was bitter, to the point that the sauce cant even cover the bitterness of the filet, it was a disappointment. Moreovers The wild pigeon, too raw for my liking. Felt like I was biting onto a live pigeon . Other than these 3 dishes ,the rest of the dishes were decent, so I guess not all were disappointments? Maybe I just didnt go when they have a decent menu...maybe ! Regardless, set courses should include a dessert it would be a nice tastebud cleanse. Please note this is based on my own experience only as everyone has different taste in food

Overall, I enjoyed the dinner experience, but I was disappointed about a few things. Our server was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, especially the scallops. However, a few cons: - There were six courses and it took 3.5 hours to get through. Way too much time would pass in between courses. In a way, it s nice because you don t feel rushed. But if you re hungry, it s pretty torturous. - We left feeling hungry. I ve never had this happen before with a tasting menu. - Dessert isn t included, which I thought to be odd given how expensive it is. They also knew the dinner was for a celebration. A complimentary piece of cake would ve went a long way.

This hidden gem in King West is probably the best restaurant in Canada. The menu has a seafood theme which I appreciated but I d like to bring attention to their vegetable dishes as well. Their vegetable courses will make you appreciate their attention to detail when it comes to ingredient sourcing and cooking techniques. The chefs spent numerous years traveling globally and bring their diverse knowledge of food to the menu. I found their service to be equally good. Our waiters were kind, friendly, and attentive. Some reviews erroneously describe the place as tight and packed but the truth is that it is warm and cosy. When you get it, it feels like you ve gone for lunch in the countryside. The restaurant has traditional Spanish decor and is absolutely charming. I look forward to returning for Sunday lunches and dinner when I have a chance. Vegetarian options: They have delicious vegetable dishes. They can easily accommodate a vegetarian however vegan may be complicated.

After almost a full year of trying to get a reservation at Edulis, we finally had the pleasure of dining at the most elusive restaurant in TO! Right off the bat, Edulis deserves every ounce of respect and praise it gets, everything here is phenomenal, down to the most minute detail. Edulis really makes you feel right at home and I understand why booking is always filled, walking in, there s only a couple of tables and you actually do get the table for the entirety of the evening so you never feel rushed. The service was amazingly attentive and the pace is slower than what one might be used to in comparison to the quick hustle of bustle that other Toronto restaurants have. This is definitely a dinner where you take your time and connect with each other and the food. All of their ingredients are foraged, farmed, and sourced based on the season so you ll be getting the freshest and most flavourful dishes. Among my favourites this season were the mackerel and pigeon dishes. There are some light appetizers, followed by 6 courses, and dessert. There are caviar and jamon options. I HIGHLY recommend the jamon as it s 100% worth it. I ve had jamon iberico in Spain and even this jamon blows that out of the water. Edulis has easily worked itself into my top 3 in Toronto and I m definetley going to do my best to come as often as I can!

A near record, five hours long lunch of good food, Sunday-only, half-price wine, fond memories and great conversation! Our Luncheon menu consists of these array of creative, well composed but not overly sophisticated, tasty communal dishes that utilize the best of fresh local ingredients: - Japanese Milk-bread, House Churned Butter - Floretto Cauliflower fritter, Green Sauce - PEI 500 lbs Bluefin Tuna, Various Cucumbers, Basil - Costata zucchini Salad, Zucchini Blossoms, Pistachio Ranch Dressing - Pate en Croute of Duck and Foie Gras - Charcoal Grilled White Nectarines, Walnuts, Mint, Water Buffalo Yogurt - Artisan TomatoeS, Gibanica, Tomato Vinaigrette - BC Manila Clams, New Potatoes, Marinera Sauce - Light Sussex Chicken, New Onions, Peas and carrots - Cheese plate of aged French Comte and Spanish Manchego - Cherry and Almond Bakewell Tart, Fig Leaf Ice Cream In addition, we added a can of Charcoal grilled Newfoundland Razor Clams house made Conservas and some Jamon croquettes to create our own Amuse Bouche! For wine pairing we choose the following: - J.M.Sohler 2018 Rose Cremant D Alsace ( Pinot Noir ) - Falkenstein Herrenberg , Mosel, 2021 Spätlese Feinherb ( Riesling ) - Suertes del Marques Vidonia 2021 ( Palomino ) Our chosen wines, with characteristics of fresh, fruity and crisp, to floral and off-dry to full body and minerally, covered a vast spectrum and did a great job in pairing and complimenting all our dishes to near perfection

After reading the many positive reviews I was expecting to be blown away but unfortunately wasnt for this seasons menu. Overall, Id say the dishes were nice and cleanly executed but nothing too complex or rich in flavor probably because fresh vegetables were used a lot. Most of the vegetables were local grown and the proteins from Europe/Canada. Perhaps this was another reason why I wasnt wowed because I grow some of the ingredients myself such as tomatos, shiso, and other leafy vegetables, so the flavors were all too familiar for me. A fall/winter/truffle themed menu might have been better for me. The pace of the dishes could have been a little faster but I understood that the staffing model is 4 people. There wasnt a set wine pairing menu as the menu frequently changes I was told. The wine recommended to us was good, we ordered 2 different bottles of white wines. Setting wise, its a small rustic place and on the darker lighting side. The service was great and the waiter answered any question that we had. If I had to sum up my overall experience in Edulis it would be nice.

It s incredibly disappointing to write this review, like anyone who goes out for an elevated dining experience, I wanted to be blown away and just wasn t. I wasnt even going to write a review but since dining at Edulias I cant stop thinking about my experience. I am incredibly impressed with how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions, the delicious tuna belly dish and the wine list, but the positives stop there. In each dish, I found myself searching for a fresh or even acidic element and was most disappointed with the chewy octopus and flavourless beans. It took 3 hours to go through 7 courses (none of which included dessert-they want you to add it on) and I STILL left hungry!! I didn t feel at all satiated and when you re spending that amount of money on a meal, it feels like robbery. I have had the privilege of enjoying some amazing tasting menus around Toronto and I would encourage anyone to save their money and go elsewhere.

Honestly such an experience. I ve personally never tried to book reservations here before, but I ve heard they go really quick. They have a release date for the upcoming month or so and you have to have reserve the date before anyone else does. Luckily, our friends were able to secure us a spot for a Friday night. It s a very cute and intimate restaurant. I would say maybe 20-30 people could fit in here. Inside is candle lit, making it a great spot for a date (or to enjoy by yourself). They only have one seating per table per night, which is why it s probably so hard to book. It made it more special and unique because we didn t feel rushed and we could just enjoy our company, take our time eating the phenomenal food and ask whatever questions we had. The menu was also personalized with our names on it - such a nice touch! The food itself was amazing. Each dish tasted so fresh and we loved that a lot of the seafood was sourced in Canada and the other ingredients from Ontario farms. The food was so good that it made us like and appreciate things we don t usually like (that s when you know it s really good)! Even though the food was incredible, the star of the show for me was the bread. Oh my goodness. I probably had two whole loaves to myself, not even exaggerating. It was sooo good with the butter they had, and they just kept refilling the loaf every time we finished one. I honestly wanted to bring some home. Price wise, it seems pricier than other restaurants but you don t tip on top. So it s pretty comparable given the quality of food and service. Next time, we will try the lunch menu as we ve heard good things about it too, and it s supposed to be a different vibe. Overall, this actually ties the #1 spot for us for fine dining restaurants in Toronto!

The scallops and toro tuna on tonights menu were especially delicious. We also tried the white truffle risotto which was a lovely add on to our full meal. I appreciate the care and planning that goes into the food menu. Edulis was a great treat :)

Edulis at Home exceeds expectations! From the moment you walk up to the restaurant to the last bite at home; These folks are a class act! They refused a tip at the time of pick up as they wanted it passed on to support the homeless in need (I will donate this to a shelter or a cause in line with this). We drove the meal home and the preparation of each course was still well in tact. Some assembly is required, but a proficient home cook can figure out the simple instructions that are provided to replicate a finessed restaurant-grade meal in seconds! Each course brought a new flavour profile and was not over done. After all, simple ingredients and meals are the best. A+ experience. I highly recommend supporting this small and caring establishment.

In my view, possibly the best restaurant in Toronto. Went here for a birthday dinner and were absolutely blown away by the courses and attentiveness of the staff. Each course was delicate, refined and perfectly complemented both the prior and subsequent course. An exceptionally crafted and executed menu. It will stay in your mind for a while. Staff are unbelievably polite and the fact that the gratuity is all included is honestly a stress reliever for me and proves to me that the staff are genuinely awesome because they don t feel the pressures of receiving tip or delivering a tip worthy experience. This place is almost a 5 star. They did a number of things right. Accommodated an infant, provided an amuse Bouche that created excitement, had a great first course of raw fish with a beautiful sear, took beef to a new level that took a type of cow that is typically not purchased for consumption, and a dessert that was complex yet simple. Finally they did a beautiful job of recognizing my birthday. Our overall service was fantastic!!!! What was missing or could have been improved? - the dry aged fish was missing flavour - the calamari was over cooked in some bites, perfectly cooked in others, and one of the piece was under where it had some slimyness. When you only get 3 pieces its important that it is all cooked perfectly - the beef was a cool idea but the cut was 60%fat and 40% beautifully cooked meat. I would have liked to see a 30% rendered fat, 70% meat ratio to equal out the bite. If remained as is, they give Alo a run for their money, with better service. If they improved they smaller details, watch out michelin guide!

I rarely post reviews but this was my worst dining experience in Toronto. We had dinner reservations at 8 15 and were in the restaurant for 2.5 hours waiting for a five course dinner . The breaks in between each course was way to long . Nothing tasted exceptionally good and everything was completely bland . I cant believe the positive reviews in this place because I would have been disappointed with the quality and taste if this is what was served in an all you can eat buffet . After waiting more then thirty minutes for our main course my girlfriend and I had to return the dish because our pork was completely flavourless and dry and cold . It tasted like it was made three hours before . We complained to the waiter and he said he would bring us another dish which was even worse when it was served . My girlfriend and I had 1 bite each and couldnt eat anymore as it was a complete failure . We immediately asked the waiter for our bill and said we did not want to try anything else . The best experience of the restaurant was the professional waiter who knew about all the wines and described all the food in extreme detail , with great passion but unfortunately the food didnt Taste even close to the descriptions. Would never recommend this place to anyone and definitely not worth 200 dollars not including the liquor . After returning two main dishes to the server not even a discount on the meal was offered which was also extremely disappointing.

I first visited Edulis in 2017 and had a fabulous experience - one of the best dining experiences in Toronto, both in terms of food and service. Recently I ordered their take out menu (offered on the weekends) as well as some cheese and vegetables from their suppliers (all available through the online ordering portal). The food provided was phenomenal and required minimal preparations/plating on our part - including a roast duck dish that was perfectly cooked so that when we warmed it up it did not become overcooked (we were impressed!). The packaging is all compostable and included fun labels and kind notes about how to prepare the food and the sourcing of some of the ingredients. The takeout menu is absolutely worth it and such an important way to support a wonderful restaurant like Edulis in these times. Highly recommend!!

If you see a restaurant where it has two rooms, one is full of Asians with an Asian server and another one is full of Caucasians with a nice Canadian waitress, how would you consider this set-up? I am not talking about racism, but it is definitely not comfortable for visible minorities. The food is not as fantastic as we expected. We have tried various tasting menus in Toronto, the taste is just a bit higher than average. I have to admit that if you like to try different things, it is a must-try place to go because of the fame.

Edulis is ranked among the top 100 restaurants in Canada. I think it deserves the spot, it was a great experience and I will be returning. The Menu: The menu is a pre-fix menu and the dishes are not listed on the printed menu on the tables. Our host told us the dishes are frequently changed and there is a completely new menu approximately every 3 weeks. You need to be comfortable with not knowing what youre about to pay for. There are two options you can order, a 5 course and 7 course for $65 & $85 (the prices have since gone up). We were told that the amount of food is roughly the same as the portions will be adjusted down for the 7 course meal, although you will try two extra dishes, so ordering the 7 course meal solely for the purpose of getting more food may not be a feasible option. To start they brought out stuffed olives, house-made bread and butter. The seven courses we tried are briefly below: 1. Sashimi 2. Shredded snow crab 3. White asparagus and morrel mushroom 4. Georgian Bay lake trout with radishes and almonds 5. John Dory with muscat grapes and leeks 6. Chicken stuffed with foi gras, crawfish on a push pastry, and mushroom 7. Dessert came in two parts, one is a Cake with a rum syrum and creme, the other is a rhubarb frozen yogurt made with goats milk. Overall I was really happy with the menu. While the dishes are small they are very flavourful and rich, and as a result you dont find yourself wanting more. By the end of the meal I was definitely full. In addition to the above we tried their in house made sodas. We tried the apricot and elderflower which I would highly recommend. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is casual, and the restaurant looks like a small cottage inside and out. I think it is very well suited for a date night, as it does have a romantic vibe to it. Service: The service is good, not bad by any means but also not anything special. It was about what you expect from a higher end restaurant but nothing over the top. No complaints here. Parking: There is a parking garage just around the corner (about a 3 minute walk), with underground parking for about $4 which is nice and convenient. Will I go back? 100%.

Eduils is an exceptional restaurant. The food is very good and well presented. It is cozy and not pretentious. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Ive visited more than once. I do feel that the pacing of the meal is quite relaxed and this often leads to 3 hours+ at the table, which is too long. Reducing the break between dishes by about 7-8 minutes would make it a near perfect experience, I think. That said, I sense the pacing is deliberate and not a lapse. They want you to enjoy your company and the dining experience at an unrushed pace. For me it ends up being like a great movie that runs about 30 minutes too long.
