810 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6E 1A7, Canada
Popular brunch destination makes all-day breakfast & a limited run of homemade donuts on weekends.
This is an excellent neighbourhood restaurant serving homey and comforting fare. Weekend brunch spots start filling up from 8:30AM, so come early if you want to get a table. We ordered the classic and the bennies. It was about $20 per plate, with $4 per coffee. Both were excellently cooked and arrived very quickly. The server and staff were all extremely friendly and checked in on us just the right amount. Never during mid-chew. The portions were pretty huge as well. If you're looking for just a really good meal cooked without any nonsense, this is the place.
It’s very good. It’s like a gourmet breakfast. It deserves five stars, but: - there is a massive line all the time and you can’t reserve in advance - it is quite expensive (I paid 74$ after tax and 20% tip for two people) - the bathroom stalls have mad gaps between the door and the rest of the stall — its mixed gender bathroom which I really appreciate but I don’t like making eye contact with my brunch date while peeing Overall the food is so good that it still gets 5. I will be back.
Emma’s Country Kitchen is a fantastic spot for breakfast lovers. Their homemade butter is truly heavenly—whether you spread the citrusy one on the perfect biscuits or when they put it as a topping on fluffy pancakes, it adds a perfect touch. I didn’t try the bacon myself, but my friends raved about it, calling it some of the best they’ve ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection, with a delightful balance of flavors. I recommend arriving early in the morning, as the place tends to fill up quickly and there’s often a waiting list. Well worth it for a memorable breakfast experience!
This was my 1st time here as I was visiting my family in Toronto. The place is a quaint hole in the wall with a lot of street side charm. Entering felt a bit cramp given the setup and size, but once you get to a table and are being served, you don't feel it. The wait was a bit long, at least 30 mins and I can see why: the food was really good! I got a meal that came with a bit of everything: pancakes, eggs, a biscuit, choice of bacon or sausage, and choice of breakfast potatoes or fruit. The server was so friendly and welcoming. He assisted us and also offered us some apple fritters which were to die for. The hot chocolate with the house-made marshmallow was yummy. The food didn't disappoint: the pancakes and biscuit were the best I've ever had! Ordered the gravy as well to try and it really was good esp because I've never liked it when I've had it before elsewhere. The food really seemed home-made. My only issue was the potatoes, it had a bit of a frozen taste to it, like I could taste freezer burn or something. Other than that, everything was so delicious. I Def want to come back here when I visit Toronto! Also parking is on the curb so you pay the meter, but wasn't a hassle to get.
Delicious. Be ready to line up on weekends and it is totally worth it. I went in summer when they have patio seating. Staff is super friendly and they ensure that one has a good service. I had pancakes, eggs, coffee of course and the plate came with fresh fruits. Will definitely come back.
Staff is super nice, food is delicious. Buttermilk biscuit is a must! Pancakes were also amazing, fluffy. Although I rarely eat fried food, I tried an apple fritter - reminded me of my grandma 🥰. I tried quiche in another visit and was also excellent. The only downside is the noise when it’s too crowded and busy. We always try to arrive early.
I had a great experience at Emma's Country Kitchen in Toronto. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a nice spot to enjoy a meal, whether you're with friends or just grabbing something solo. Our server was very attentive and took care of everything I needed without any fuss, which I really appreciated. They were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a good experience. The food was delicious, with each dish cooked just right. The menu had a nice variety, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for comfort food or something a bit different. The portions were generous too, so you definitely get your money’s worth. I didn’t catch the name of our server, but they did a great job, and it made the visit even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back, and this place is now on my list of go-to spots in the city. If you’re looking for a reliable place with good food and friendly service, I highly recommend Emma's Country Kitchen!
Emma’s is easily one of the best Breakfast/Brunch spots in the city! We’ve been coming for many years and have come twice recently and the food was still unbelievably delicious! It’s real home-cooked comfort food! Everything tastes super fresh! The last time we were there, the server we had ruined our experience, BUT that won’t stop us from coming again and simply avoiding her. The cinnamon pancakes, eggs Benny and biscuits & sausage-gravy are all TO DIE FOR! Also, we had the most delicious Cappuccinos the last time we were there! Can’t wait to return!
It s just like THE spot for brunch
Warm ambiance and warmer service. Home-cooked breakfast feeling with 5 star quality. Every plate was delicious, generous and well thought out. Definitely going back.
What a good meal I had here.
Family restaurant that hits different. My favorite pancake. Cinnamon roll pancake god damm
Amazing place, amazing food
Best eggs Benny I ve ever had!
Everything Ive tried has been mostly delicious, but a tad too expensive for the experience overall.
Emmas Country Kitchen does breakfast the right way. My favorite breakfast experience bar none. Nothing else needs to be said. I posted the foregoing review three years ago. Based on it, my wife and I ventured hungrily to Emmas this morning for a fulfilling breakfast. Our experience was nothing short of terrible. We each ordered the Classic choosing two eggs over easy, bacon and home fries with a rye bun. At $22 per serving this was a total rip off!!! I cant believe we spent $68 including tax and tip for two eggs, tasteless home fries, okay bacon and a rye bun (my wife had a bottomless coffee). We walked out wondering: How could we have raved about this breakfast three years ago? Has the food changed that much? Suffice to say that other than wishing to get back the two hours we lost and the monies spent, we are pondering how could our enthusiasm be doused so strongly and our appetite ruined??? It is not a good feeling to criticize but I feel inclined to let readers know that Emmas is no longer worth the experience.
Food was everything I expected, very good. One of best biscuits and gravy in toronto, just the wait time is long but is well worth
We had the full breakfast between two with two sides of pancakes - cinnamon and pumpkin Overall the food was good and I am happy to pay a living wage. Potatoes were good many a little cold, the bacon and sausage were good not hot, the beans were very good , the egg was great sunny up. The cinnamon pancakes were outstanding.
Best breakfast/brunch in the wychwood area! Food is always super fresh. I love the sausage patties they make. Breakwich is always a hit.
Food is super fresh. Great service as well. It s delicious and it s fresh
Brunch is always so good. However we are not fans of the potatoes. Everything else is good.
Amazing food, great service
Vegetarian options: Eggs, biscuits and fruit, oh my! Food
We did not meet Emma. However, the entire staff is amazing. They were all welcoming and friendly while providing exceptional service. My words can not capture the outstanding quality and flavor of the food. You need to experience it. Highly recommend
I have to say this breakfast place is bustling and for good reason. When we got there it was a 30 min wait but it moves pretty fast and we got in at the 25 min mark. The guy at the front is awesome and he sat us, took our order, brought our food and was watching the door and taking care of call backs for waitlists. Whoever this guy is needs a raise cause he is an asset to your restaurant. The pancakes were soft and it came with lemon butter and blueberry jam..we also had the omlette with tomato, spinach and goat cheese and it was soooo good with the homefries. Great experience and would recommend.
Incredible spot. Staff are all fantastic! We ll be back soon :)
The staff here is incredibly friendly no complaints at all, they were lovely! The food was tasty and comforting, but the prices didn t quite match the simplicity of the dishes. Charging $1 extra for mayo and $8 for a side of beans felt a bit excessive.
Felt compelled to write a review after having such an excellent breakfast this morning. Truly one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had- the omelet of the day was amazing, the benny, baked beans and house made hot sauce were also great. Our service was top notch, we sat outside and they have nets around all outdoor tables to prevent wasps which are problematic this time of year. Honestly my husband and I couldnt say enough good things.
We should have visited Emma s longtime ago. Definitely the One & Best brunch in GTA! Must-try: sausage sauce poutine/biscuit, apple fritters, coconut lemonade. Food
Hillary our server was the sweetest also the guy who was serving people outside was very sweet. The food was good the wait was a bit too long though.
Was in the area with my family, decided to pop in here on a Saturday morning and it was already buzzing, I quickly found out why. The atmosphere is nice, the servers are pleasant and the food is good. Nothing to complain about at all, we all enjoyed our meals.
Recently discovered the place and truly cannot get over how good the food is. Admittedly I dont even want to review it so high for fear it only continues to gain popularity and becomes too busy to visit on the weekends with my family but a fantastic review is deserved. Try the BLT, add an egg and add pimento cheese and thank me later!
Amazing. Every single time I go I leave with a smile and a full stomach. Could not recommend this place enough!
Amazing place. I get the breakfast sandwich.
Average food very good service at a decent price
In 6years I ve never been disappointed!
OMG! One of the best Omelettes I had so far! They have a daily omelette and today s was mix with Gouda cheese and sweet potato. I was skeptical about sweet potato s in omelettes but it turned out amazing. The rye bread bun was very fresh and a bit crispy and great match with the omelette. The light sweet taste of potatoes mix with Gouda was incredibly nice and the side green salad had a new taste for me with a unique vegetable and was amazing as well. The servers are all wonderful. I only say our table was the last close to kitchen and few friends didn t enjoy their view of the black curtain and kitchen crowd. Otherwise I d totally give 5 stars to my omelette.
Biscuit is always a hit. Pancakes were fantastic. Always have some an amazing service experience here. Top notch
Ive been going here for years and loved it every time. The staff is amazing (and many have been there forever!). Theyre treated way better than industry standards, which makes this an important business to keep supporting. Expect a line: its worth the wait!
The house gravy and sausages are incredible. Breakfast is so good here very generous portions you wont have to have lunch after.
Amazing brunch! Will be back again!
Very friendly waitress. Very delicious food. On weekends the wait is a minimum of 30 minutes.
Favorite and best place for breekie or brunch
Our server was great, the cinnamon pancakes were so good. Will order it again almost every visit
Pancakes Service Fair Price Food : 5/5
Just went here with my boyfriend and we both agreed this was the best, flavorful, fulfilling breakfast we both had ever had. Greg was our waiter and he was so lovely and attentive :) The whole staff team just seemed very happy in general which says a lot. The cinnamon bun pancakes were out of this world and the poutine was excellent. The bacon on the BTL was also crazy good. 10/10 all around! Thanks guys!
Been going here for over a year now. After our very first visit the staff remembered us, the food has never once been even a little off, the servers are attentive but not over-bearing. Cant recommend Emmas enough! Vegetarian options: They have a veggie omelette special that frequently changes. Have yet to try it myself but if its as good as the other food Im sure this knocks it out of the park too.
Best breaky I ve had in a minute
Great place. Great people.
Amazing breakfast biscuit.
Love them cinnamon bun pancakes!!
: Emma s has been open since July 2012 and is owned and operated by best friends the restaurant pays tribute to the original Emma , Owner Rachels grandmother. Everything is made fresh in house everyday. They are very overprotective of the jam and butter, but you need to try it!! Lisa was our attendant she was very lovely and helpful. We sat at the bar of this very busy place. Great portions excellent food! Prepared to be wowed a little too packed for me but would try again.
The absolute worst coffee Ive ever had in my life. It tasted like the machine has never been cleaned!
They are usually really great but this time there were some problems with the food. Home fries were not cooked very well. We ordered a ceaser it came with house made spice which had seeds and tomato skin in it. I honestly have no idea who thought that it would be a good idea to keep that in the caesar but its really hard to enjoy a drink when you constantly spit stuff out your mouth. Our waiter was very kind to offer something else. I highly recommended changing the ceaser back to what it was since it was my favorite...
Amazing breakfast! Had the Belt Buster and it performed as advertised! Fluffy pancakes, and smashed sausage patties were the highlights. Couldnt finish the hash browns. Too full!
Hands down the best brunch place of all Toronto that i have tried. This should be in a Michelin star .
The in house made buttermilk biscuits with citrus butter and blueberry jam are the stars of the show here! Also quality coffee and family atmosphere. Lots of room for kids and strollers etc. Fresh baked goods and ready to be baked things available too.
hillary was my server and she was really awesome. super friendly and kind. knew just when to come around and check in. the food was good but a little pricy. i personally wasn t a huge fan of the potatoes, but everything else was delicious, especially the biscuits. the decor is a little bland for my taste, could definitely use a slight touch up.
Breakfast should never cost $80. For that price youd think it would include more than the bare minimum. But no. For 40$ a person you get two eggs, some potatoes, and a side of their famous biscuits. What are they famous for, being burnt and dry? This place caters to a class of people who want a rural dining experience without having to interact with actual country people. Clearly only rich people can afford to dine here regularly and pretend they are at a cozy little affordable country diner when in reality this is nothing but an extremely out-of-touch way to eat two eggs. If you think the five the star reviews are because of the food, youre wrong. The people who claim to love this place seem very well-off and visit it in a desperate attempt to cultivate some semblance of a down-to-earth personality, while utterly unaware that theyre being swindled by one of their own - For who else would charge $50 for a full English breakfast, a dish of the working class. I will say, our server was wonderful.
If you have one morning to go for brunch in Ottawa, this is the place for a good meal and service. We loved it.
Breakfast was top notch.
Absolutely amazing staff (thank you Lisa) and food is fresh and tasty.
Better than your mums buttermilk pancakes and the best bacon Ive ever had!
I whole heartedly disagree strongly with the review that says this place needs improvement!!! It is quite literally the bomb! St Clair needs more places with a heart and that is what Emma s Country Kitchen has! Food that you can t get anywhere else in the area and staff with a fun and positive attitude!!! Went for brunch one day with a girlfriend and now it s a staple in our neighborhood
The best pancakes in the world, which are only rivaled by the best servers and hostesses and owner I ve met. A true Toronto gem.
My partner and I were welcomed by the stench of wet mop cloth on our table. We decided to leave the premises as there was no other table available. The server came back to clean our table (gently) however it did not make a difference. Disgusting.. only giving one star in order to submit this review however Id give it zero stars.
There is no breakfast in Toronto like the breakfast at Emma s. Came here for a 10am breakfast in Canada Day. We ve been here several times and the food is always fantastic and service is great. I can t recommend this place enough. Emma s is an example of how attention to detail and quality ingredients can really make for an incredible meal. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the homemade hot sauce is one of the best in Toronto, the lemon zested butter and homemade jam delicious, home fries simple, salted perfectly and tasty, fresh baked buttermilk biscuit oh so savoury, and super high quality meat that is clearly made from scratch another best in the city. On top of it all a cinnamon bun pancake with a cinnamon butter that is quite literally PERFECT. There were two of us and we ordered the belt buster with a side of scrambled eggs, an Americano, and a fresh squeezed juice. Bill came out to $55 which we felt was super reasonable for what we got. We were stuffed! Kudos and Thank you Emma s. We ll definitely be back. Parking: Generally not to bad to find parking on st Clair of the lot across the street. There s also a lot of side streets nearby where you can sometimes find a free spot. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and you always see kids here. The kids love the cinnamon bun pancakes.
The best part of Emmas Country Kitchen is their employees. They pay their employees a fair living wage, and being treated with respect as a human being shows in their care for the food as well as for their customers. The patio is fabulous and the food was delicious.
One of my favourite breakfast places in the city. Wonderful staff, great food and always an excellent experience.
it opens till 3pm, its already 130pm, but r packed both inside & patio with folks waiting in line. price can be cheaper but all the food in the plates ordered r v yummy, incl tge buns & cranberry jam (made of mashed real cranberry)
Lots of good healthy options. You will not be disappointed.
I just had my breakfast here today It s my first time to dine here. I ordered Beltbuster and coffee . The portion is good for two persons The Service is excellent Hillary was so accommodating and help us with our order The food was perfectly delicious I will definitely comeback here and recommend to my friends
I recently visited Emma s Country Kitchen for brunch and found the experience to be a mix of positives and areas for improvement. The food was just above average definitely not bad, but not exceptional either. The atmosphere was eclectic, giving the place a unique charm, though the decor felt a bit dated. Prices were on the higher side for a brunch spot, which I understand is due to their participation in the living wage program, a commendable effort on their part. The service was good; the staff were attentive but didnt go above and beyond. Given the popularity of the place, reservations are highly recommended on weekends to avoid long waits. While I would recommend Emma s Country Kitchen, it wouldn t be my top pick for brunch along St. Clair. Its a decent option, but there are other places that offer a more memorable dining experience.
This Place is Amazing homemade Biscuits and the Breakfast Sandwich melts in your mouth and prices are very low! Homemade Juice at the Counter is Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake a must try so moist. 3.00 a slice Vegetarian options: Yes Parking: At the corner is paid parking Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Service was good but the food was VERY mediocre for the price. Can get much better food at cheaper price at nearby restaurants on St. Clair.
I live nearby, and this is the #1 place to go for me! Their food is incredible and with so much of it being homemade it makes it even better.
Sometimes old school is better Emmas proves that
Great place for breakfast good service nice people a1
They had a homemade biscuit that was the base for my eggs Benedict that was really great, never had eggs Benedict with a homemade biscuit. Good job!
If you are looking for atmosphere this is not your place. If you are looking for a great meal and excellent service this is your spot. They are family friendly and have wonderful options. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: They had GF options
Best breakfast in Toronto hands down. Try the pancakes!!!! So good Food
Best of the best.
The best breakfast so far weve had in Toronto, my favorite English breakfast! The guys who served us were very kind, attentive and friendly, we would definitely return! Thanks Hillary
The best eggs benny on biscuits as well as the cinnamon bun pancakes are a must have!
Came across this gem this morning. The food, atmosphere and customer service were impeccable. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Although it was my first time visiting, it definitely won t be my last. Thank you Jeremy for your exceptional service
First time trying breakfast at Emma s Country Kitchen and I ll for-sure be back! The pancakes (both wild blueberry and cinnamon bun) were so fluffy and delicious. My friend ordered the Belt Buster and the portion sizes were great and you can tell everything is made fresh. Great service and the small wait time for a table is worth it!
Theres a reason Ive never been here and seen anything less than still house. Every dish is a delight from start to finish, with wonderful and attentive service to match. Lots of different flavors to choose from and every one them fills up both your body and soul to get ready to go out and enjoy the day to the fullest. I very much recommend you try out Emmas!
Great food, great service, highly recommend, I will return for sure
Fantastic place for a safe, consistent, Canadian brunch. The service is truly exceptional and you get that Canadian warmth when you enter from the entire staff! The food portions were enormous and delicious. Could use some additional variety in the menu but all the staple brunch dishes are there. The atmosphere is also super cozy, giving typical brunch vibes. Parking: Street parking available.
We went there Jan. 1st The Good: everything we ordered was delicious, super friendly vibes from all staff. We waited probably a good 20 minutes? The homemade jam and lemon butter was to die for and just amazing on everything. We also order to go soups here and Daisy cake. Wonderful restaurant. The Bad: I pointed out to the waiter that the charges showing $600+ for a bill that was $73.22. He said Oh it s Christmas we just laughed it off but that s wasn t funny, good thing I always check my bill. He didn t even apologize as if he s entitled for that amount. How can you make a mistake punching $600+ for $73.22. Really sketchy . It s not a reflection of the owner and the restaurant but you wonder how many times this Male Wait Staff actually got away with it. It really left a bad taste in our mouth
We visited Emmas Country Kitchen for brunch. Without a reservation (first come, first serve), we ended up waiting 50 minutes for a table. While the service and staff were attentive and pleasant, the food didnt quite live up to expectations - it was okay, but nothing out of the ordinary or particularly memorable. Given the long wait, Im not convinced the overall experience was worth the time. I would recommend considering a reservation or possibly looking elsewhere if youre after a truly special brunch experience.
Great for brunch with kids
This place is so small and crowded, the staff where extremely rude and unwelcoming last time i went so i ended up walking out. The food is decent, but there s better options out there.
Amazing food! Had the Benny ..... it was worth it!!!
A great brunch spot in Toronto! I visited for Sunday brunch with a friend and we were not disappointed! Note: they dont accept reservations. I expected a line-up and a wait list, though the wait time was shorter than expected. The staff is all super kind and friendly, always made sure we had what we needed, and never rushed us (despite how busy it was). Knowing that the staff are paid a living wage is a great bonus to supporting this restaurant. I will definitely be back! I had the cinnamon bun pancakes and they were incredible! It would be very hard not to get them again and again. Great cinnamon flavour and cooked perfectly. My friend had the daily omelet made with root veggies, home fries, and a buttermilk biscuit. Everything looked so fresh and well-prepared. The tables are a bit tight together, so its definitely a cozy atmosphere. You can also opt to sit at the counter. Note: the bathrooms are located on the basement level, down some narrow stairs (as is typical with a lot of older Toronto buildings). Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian options and sides available Dietary restrictions: Have milk alternatives
Excellent service and delicious food! Will be returning!!!
Amazing service, amazing coffee, and amazing brunch.
This is THE BEST breakfast spot in the GTA. Nothing can compare. I found this spot when living in Toronto but now my family and I travel 1 hour from the north to come here for brunch! The food is amazing! High end breakfast spot. Good quality food. Great unique recipes. All the staff are so friendly and treat you like you are valued. Greg is amazing! They are a living wage employer which is probably why everyone is so pleasant. Kid-friendliness: Crayons and drawing pages for the kids. I liked that they are Crayola. Quality is everything.
Good food. Very crowded on weekends. Now I know why. Classic Breakfast is great.
Emma s is now my favourite brunch place in Toronto. Amazing cinnamon pancakes!
Amazing this place is still in business. Eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs both almost inedible. Worst restaurant I have ever been to. Food
Emma s is simply heaven-on-earth. Yes, the cinnamon bun pancakes are THAT good. If you aren t getting them as your main, get a side, you won t regret it. I ve tried many items on the menu and the only thing that is almost as good as the cinnamon bun pancakes is the breakfast sandwich. They pay their staff a livable wage, so everyone is happy as hell. What s to not love? It gets busy, so if you can manage to visit on a Friday or Monday, you ll have to wait less than usual.
Their service always makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Extremely kind people here who genuinely care about their customers. One of the best places in Toronto for breakfast and Canadian comfort food. Try the biscuits and gravy.
Best brunch on town. Amazing staff, delicious food.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would. It was my first time dining at Emma s CK and I just loved everything. Food is amazing and customer service, big WOW. It really made an impact on my day, that s how good it was. Customers are handled with love and kindness. Just amazing. Keep up the great work
Simply delicious The food was all homemade and fantastic! All the staff were so friendly and kind, especially Greg! Will definitely be back for some more! Vegetarian options: There were some vegetarian options as they can substitute meat as an option Dietary restrictions: Im sure they would help u out Parking: Found a spot in front on St Clair Kid-friendliness: Many children here and they were very kind to them and supplied them with colouring paper and crayons Wheelchair accessibility: They had a lovely stop GAP RAMP in the front door...yet washrooms are downstairs
Used to love this place, different story now! Outrageous prices, only rich can afford!!! Beware of ALL GENDER BATHROOMS!!! WHEN I INQUIRED WHY, SLOUGHED OFF AND IGNORED! Not happy. Never going again.
What a diner should be. Theyre actually happy youre there
Emmas Country Kitchen has been one of our favourite brunch spots since its early days (back in its prior location). We havent been in some time because its a bit far for us, but the food is still just as good, its still family-friendly, and the space is still bustling. The cinnamon bun pancakes were delicious, and their sausage and biscuits and bennies were just as I remembered. Service was friendly and we didnt have to wait long because it was a weekday.
Great food, friendly service! Expect to wait unless youre there early! The only downside is the coffee. Been a few times and Ive never been happy with it- burnt or acidic. Aside from that, the food is great, a really enjoyable breakfast!
Worth the wait! The taste of the food is incredible and the service is amazing.
Amazing place!
The BEST pancakes Ever! There s a lot of good things coming out of this kitchen. If you go there s and you re not ordering the pancakes . Too bad for you. I got the regular breakfast with potato mes and sausages. I had absolutely no expectations from this place. I selected it randomly for Google and I am extremely impressed by the taste of everything. Even the eggs were the best eggs i ve had in a restaurant in soooo long. Great sausages and the potatoes are perfectly spiced and crispy. This place is worth a detour! Bravo Emma!
Emmas is exceptional. My daughter wanted us to take my 93 year old mother for a New Years Eve brunch for a celebration. She choose Emmas, it could not have been a better choice. My Mom has a walker and the restaurant is very accessible, and the staff were wonderful in making sure we had the perfect seat to make it easy for my Mom. The menu is full of fantastic choices. The quiche, scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwich were all delicious and the cinnamon bun pancakes were to die for. The staff are Customer Service stars, making you feel warm, welcome, and cared about. Special mention to Heather, Lisa, and Greg and those whose name I did not get but helped in the serving, who made this the most wonderful New Years Eve celebration for us. Thank you. Parking: Close and easy to find Wheelchair accessibility: Easy Walker accessibility
Every element is excellent. Lovely staff.
Daughter took me here for brunch because I had never been, I am ashamed to say! The food was plentiful and delicious. The Scone was as good as I had been told! The staff are very helpful and attentive. Definitely going back!
Think about a cozy country breakfast and you have Emmas. This is moms cooking any time you want. Expect it to be rich and heavy traditional items. We enjoyed our brunch, its not my typical first pick but Id go back for the breakfast sandwich.
I absolutely love coming here.
Do I remember what the food tasted like? Not really it was good though, the donuts were fantastic and the Baileys Latte was great, But what I really remember was the experience the server provided us with, she was super nice! Friendly and maybe because she was a little bit older like my mom s age she had this very warm calming vibe to her. Simply because of that server I d come back a million times. I think her name was Shannon? I should have made the review earlier. But thanks to that server! And they pay them a living wage which is not normal!
Went for brunch, had to wait an hour to get seated. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. The quantity and food taste both were decent. Its a nice place to chat and have coffee with friends.
THE. BEST. BRUNCH. IN. TORONTO.
Had a lovely family breakfast here, and the food and service were amazing. Lisa was super attentive and sweet, and made my day with the decaf Americano refills (which were delicious btw). 10/10 brunch, can t wait to go back. Go Bills!
Delicious food (the biscuits, mmm) and amazing, fast service.
I had some old friends visiting town, and we were looking for a place within walking distance for a last brunch before their flights. One of us found Emmas Country Kitchen, and we fell in love. The promise of cinnamon bun pancakes drew us in (and they were excellent!), but the enormous biscuits, the friendly and attentive workers, and the welcoming atmosphere made it special. It really felt like we were old regulars, when it was all of our first times going. This was a favorite meal of the trip, and I will definitely be taking more people by!
Everything is always amazing here, however you need to get there early on weekends otherwise good luck!
Love this place, the cinnamon bun pancakes are the best and the breakfast poutine is great too
Great food amazing customer service and a really nice place
My favourite breakfast spot!
Great food and service. We ordered the belt buster and shared between 2 people. Added a couple of side dishes. It was a perfect meal as we got to taste their signature meals. Love that they pay their staff a living wage so more reason to come back :)
This is my favourite breakfast place in Toronto. My favourites are the eggs Benedict on their famous biscuits. The show stopper is their pancakes though. The cinnamon bun pancakes are probably the best pancakes I ve ever had and I am a big pancake fan. Their London fog is delicious, but size is small. The service is always great and it s a cozy environment. Usually be prepared to wait though - it s very busy. It s always worth the wait though!
We had such a wonderful time at Emma s! The food was amazing (the cinnamon bun pancakes and fried chicken were divine) and Greg was so fantastic :)
Ok. Iv been to alot of breakfast place in canada and the us. This place was probably the best breakfast iv ever had in recent memory. The only small issue ( and it is in no way there fault) is had to wait for a table as it was busy . End up sitting at the bar. But thats the only thing I can think of. Prices were on the higher end. But the portion were very large. I have also seen online that it looks like they pay there staff a living wage. So that needs to be taken into account. The food was excellent . The staff was helpful and atenetive. This might be the best breakfast in toronto. Well worth the wait and price point.
Family friendly, excellent food and service. Clean tables. Will go back again.
Bacon good! Bathroom situation - not so good.... Would come back and recommend.
Wow! Such a nice brunch spot. I decided to stop here as it was nearby the place I was staying in during my recent trip to TO. The employee who greeted me was friendly and brought me to my table where I was served by his wonderful coworker. If youre looking to dine alone, which was my case, they do have a bar with stools or you can sit at a table if you prefer. The blueberry pancakes were top-notch and I like how they use real maple syrup and not the pre-packaged ones. Moreover, they frequently come by and refill your coffee which is nice. Lastly, they are a living wage employer so they pay their employees fairly well. Highly recommend this place!
Excellent service with delicious food.
It was my first visit. The flavours were glorious. The cinnamon pancakes were incredible. A great hub of community activity and fun. A lot of heart and superb food.
Great food and friendly service
only ordered takeout so I can t speak to the atmosphere much. But service was great, very warm and went the extra mile. Food was solid, would ve loved the tomato more griddled, but more of a preference. Soft scramble was superb. Biscuit really fluffy. Home fries had awesome seasoning and the right amount of crisp to soft interior.
The pancakes are 8/10 - on par with Mildreds Temple Kitchen, School, & Old School Eggs Benedict are great, hollandaise is 9/10 very little lemon. Service and atmosphere is also excellent. The coffee is not good. If you want good coffee with brunch grab a cup from the place across the street.
$57 + tip for one full english???
Came here on recommendation from a coworker. Food is good but limited in most options, especially for folks who don t eat pork as most meals have some sort of pork included in them and many of the dishes do not allow for the pork to be removed from the recipe. Pumpkin Pancakes were absolutely delicious and a must try. Service is exceptional however and all of the servers are true gems!
Had such a wonderful time at Emmas. This is probably the best eggs benedict in the city! Everything was good, the staff were so amazing and it was a great vibe. Will definitely be coming back for the pancakes next time!
I work nearby and this place is by far the best breakfast spot in this area. The bacon is thick cut and crispy, the buttermilk biscuits are second to none, and the apple fritters are out of this world! Staff are friendly as can be. A touch pricey but once you try the food you really wont care. The only downside is they re open Friday to monday; otherwise I d be eating here everyday! Highly recommend.
Delicious, giant portions, friendly service.
This place is right on the edge to get 5 stars, but the the coffee not being good made me reconsider. The food is quite good and the portions are proper, feels like perfectly balanced portions to make you feel content but not stuffed You can honestly immediately feel that the ingredients are fresh and it translates well into the flavor of the food. The place can be considered slightly pricey but given the good portion and outstanding taste, I was satisfied. The service was also outstanding, everyone was super nice, welcoming, and it felt genuine. We were happy being there. My one very important issue is the coffee, it was overpriced for a drip coffee and it wasnt well made. It felt like too much coffee grounds for little water. It was too bitter and overpowering and it didnt get better as you drink more. A breakfast place should definitely make better coffee Id definitely give them another try, hoping the coffee was a one time issue.
Wonderful gem of a breakfast spot that feels special because of its local, warm vibe. Tasty dishes, some of the fairest prices in the city, and superb, friendly service. My only qualm was the selection. I dont eat pork and found there wasnt very much choice on the menu. That said, will still definitely be back!
Baked beans made in house are the best Ive ever had. Pancakes are on a other level.
Super delicious food, the service waa great, everything made in house from scratch
Came here on a whim after seeing biscuits and gravy on the menu. I grew up in the US and long for the dish now that I love in Canada where you can rarely find it. Its a breakfast staple in the US, particularly in the South and you can find it anywhere. This biscuits and gravy did not disappoint. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the gravy savoury and delicious. This gravy included onions and sage which is a slight departure from the traditional recipe of flour, butter, sausage, salt, and recipe. Straying from the can be hit or miss, but Emmas version is exceptionally good. The onions mellow out the harshness of the salt and pepper making for a more pleasant version that isnt as heavy. Seriously so good. I swapped eggs for home fries which were also well seasoned and delicious. Their homemade hot sauce is to die for. Deeply flavourful without being overly spicy. I dipped my potatoes in it instead of ketchup. Their was a long wait, which I consider a compliment because clearly people love this place and for good reason. The service was wonderful and friendly. Im unquestionably coming here next time Im in town.
Food and coffee were amazing, really liked their baked beans and sausage! If you want a homemade breakfast - its the place to visit! Super friendly staff as well, quick service.
Food was amazing. I definitely recommend the cinnamon bun pancakes.
Excellent food. Fairly specialized, which generally means that what they do is super good and thats absolutely the case here. Frequently a lineup but they just take your number and call you when its your turn, which works great. Also they pay fair wages, which always makes a place more pleasant.
Best place in Toronto for a delicious brunch. Great food, service and atmosphere. Such fabulous quality. Their baked beans are so yummy everything is made in house. Wow!!
This was my first time at Emmas Country Kitchen, but it certainly wont be my last!
10/10. Speechless, best breakfast in town. Go and try for yourself. You wouldnt be disappointed
Personally I would not say its as great as the reviews here. Home fries were very dry, very little sauce on the eggs Benny, the bacon on the eggs was a very small portion (back bacon would have actually been much better) and overall the bite felt dry. For the price (24$) in my opinion not worth it at all. Maybe other plates are different.
This place is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Homemade food and consistently lovely service. Will always come back. The cinnamon bun pancakes are 11/10.
Lisa was amazing! The food was so tasty and the ingredient being from a small farm made all the difference thank you for having us
Omelette and the breakwich were deliiiiiicious! Amazing service with kind and friendly staff. The most wholesome brunch experience
Great brunch! Service was excellent. I couldnt decide between an omelet and pancakes. I server suggested both!
Can t comment on the food as I didn t eat there but took the scones to take out. Bloody amazing! Soft and fluffy. Wonderful with clotted cream and jam
Pros: + Personalized Egg Choices: Emmas lets you choose how you want your eggs cooked, a thoughtful and unique touch. + Cinnamon Pancakes: The cinnamon pancake was a standout dish, a perfect blend of crunchiness and delightful flavor. + Flavorful Rosemary Sausage: The sausage had a wonderful rosemary twist that elevated its taste. + Welcoming and Professional Staff: The staff here are not only friendly but also highly skilled, making the dining experience enjoyable. Cons: - No American Express - Eco-Friendly Considerations: The use of plastic containers for jam and butter is not the most environmentally friendly choice. - Coffee Quality: While not terrible, the coffee was rather average. - Extra Charge for Hot Sauce: Charging extra for hot sauce seemed a bit unnecessary; it would be nice to see it included. - Consistency in Egg Preparation: The bunny dish I ordered had hard-boiled egg yolks. Ensuring consistency in egg preparation is essential.
Excellent brunch. A tad pricey, and busy - but worth it.
Wonderful experience! Great food! Our waitress was also wonderful!
21$ for a 2 eggs vegetarian breakfast. Are you for real? Things like this really turn me off and make me want to stay at home and make my own eggs. It doesnt matter how good those 2 eggs are because it is still 21$ for 2 eggs some bread and fries. I am not coming back and I am not surprised the industry is doing so badly in general.
Hands down my fav brunch spot.
Its a cool breakfast spot and the wait times are better than many other places. They have living wage system which is always appreciated. The food was pretty good but I wouldnt say it was exceptional. The staff were friendly and service was quick even on a busy weekend morning. The location is a little stuffy but we got the window table which was lovely.
Very friendly, Delicious food, and perfect mood. Really recommand.
The food was great and so was the service. Highly recommend.
It s a decent and delicious brunch place! The staff were friendly and the store atmosphere was very nice I think the pancakes are especially delicious. I went around 12pm on a weekend and there was a wait of about 40 minutes.
Such a delicious brunch! Make sure you get there with enough time to get a seat, we were able to be seated right away at 9:45am on a Sunday but once 10am hit there was a lineup already. Prices are quite reasonable for the portions, Im very glad I only got a side of the pancakes plus eggs because even the two pancakes were very filling! Im not sure if the coffee was refillable for drip, I would hope so but will have to see next time as Ill definitely be back. I usually try to go for eggs but the cinnamon bun pancakes were to die for! The only reason I didnt give a full 5 star on service is that it was very hard to flag someone down when we needed someone and especially for the bill at the end took a long time to wave down. Otherwise, Im glad I finally found a good brunch spot in the neighbourhood as I was a bit disappointed by a couple other local hotspots. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options to add sides if you dont like mains but also vegetarian options available.
Every time my partner and I come here it feels like a special occasion. The space is deceptively simple but the food and service are both exceptional. They get all the little details I d give six stars for service if I could. Soundtrack is always on point and one of the servers is always down to chat classic rock with us. Everything on the menu is banging but my personal favourite is the full English, which should be shared between two people unless you re very brave. The baked beans are always the first to vanish. The kitchen also has a real knack for sweets and baked goods, from the biscuits and pancakes to the donuts and apple fritters (which are MANDATORY on the way out). Seriously. You ll never want a Timbit again. I d call this place a Must Try!
Great food and even better service! I recommend the gingerbread pancakes and the sausage and gravey (side). They also make really good home made fritters and mini donuts! They are a bit pricy more of a once in a while treat for us. Lastly, they dont take reservations...so be prepared for a wait on weekends 20- 40+ mins...but you dont have to stay in the restaurant during this time since they call when your table is ready.
Best Benny I ve ever had, side of baked beans which was to die for, combined with a Caesar. What a flavour bomb! Delicious!!
Food was delicious! We shared the cinnamon bun pancakes and The Classic meal which we optioned as eggs, Portobello mushrooms, biscuit, and home fries. The service staff were friendly and we did not have to wait too long for the meal to be served despite how busy the place was. It was packed and we only had to wait a mere 20minutes to be seated. We were only two people tho dining though. I dont leave in Mississauga but If Im ever in the area, I would definitely come back!
Wait times were averaging half an hour when we went to visit. But the food was really good and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a good time. Both the buttermilk pancakes and the biscuits with gravy were really great.
I love this place, literally compare every breakfast place to here!!! Highly recommend!!!
