A speakeasy behind Sam James Coffee Bar. The restaurant offers good food with great service and ambient atmosphere. We came to catch up with another two friends. Our server was great and provided us a sample of wine as well, thank you! No complaints. My only feedback would be on portion size for the pricing of the menu. Maybe it’s the Ossington strip but price for value was skewed. Four people ended up being about $250 (without tax) with one single glass of wine.

Easily my favourite Thai restaurant in the city, and possibly my favourite restaurant this year! I was very surprised by how much I liked Favorites. The tasting menu was wonderful. I even enjoyed the lamb dish, and I generally avoid lamb as I find it tastes very pastoral. For the quality of the food and when compared to similar restaurants in Toronto, I was also very impressed with the price.

Excellent food, vibes, drinks. Music was a little loud but the food quality overcame it and then some. Especially loved the secreto pork and the confit duck leg. Everything had a great Thai twist and was cooked very well. The mango sticky rice cocktail was delightful

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, they did a really good job setting the tone. Other than the fact I wish the high table seating was more comfortable everything about the atmosphere was perfect. As for the service staff, they were approachable, friendly and attentive but, I did feel like they were a bit inexperienced, a bit shaky on explaining the menu, retrieving plates and I did find myself wondering when or what was the next dish coming. This is a bit of a nitpick, if down to earth is what they are going for which is what I think they were trying to do! Side note, I did explain in my reservation and mention to our server I was celebrating a friends birthday but nothing particularly happened, of course this should not be expected but, I know some restaurants do, again a small nitpick! For the food, the appetizers were great but I felt they outshined the mains, which is unfortunate because the appetizers set the bar that was dropped by the mains, in my opinion a tasting menu is a bit like a roller coaster gradually going up then down. Some of the dishes such as the pork that I had was a bit over salted perhaps a bit too much fish sauce but each person has different preferences of course! Overall, excellent place to bring friends or a date, I did notice a specific dining table for large parties, which was cool. Unfortunately, I did not try any drinks as I had to drive but maybe I will next time! Thank you Favourites Thai BBQ for the experience!

Absolutely love and recommend Favorites Thai, well deserved Bib Gourmand. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu and it delivered. Each dish was flavourful and unique that it felt like we got a wide variety. Some of the dishes were pretty spicy, but that’s ok we like that. 10/10 would go again!

Had the chef’s choice tasting menu, great way to try a little bit of everything. Very generous portions and fast service for a tasting menu (perhaps a little too fast as the server keeps on asking us whether we are done with our plate when we are still eating). It’s innovative Thai food and the flavour profile was amazing.

The ceviche is one of the best things I’ve eaten all summer. It’s bright and delicate and visually stunning. It is the highlight for me and the other dishes we ordered - the pork, calamari salad, duck curry - were solid. We ate on the patio because we didn’t make a reservation and it was a nice night. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks are pretty inventive - I had the mango sticky rice drink which was delicious. I can’t wait to go back for the ceviche.

4.5 stars. Interesting entrance as it is behind a coffee shop. Highly recommend you make a reservation instead of walking in as they are quite busy. Everything we tried was decent/tasty. We wanted to try the rustic curried mussel but they were out (we went at opening, so that was a bit surprising). Note: The calamari & coconut rice salad can be quite spicy but there was no warning or spice symbols. Service was decent. A bottle of water is available on table, but servers would also walk around with extra water to fill empty cups. Tables are small, so plates were also cleared on time. We were asked after every dish if we needed to change plates (we didn’t end up changing but it is a thoughtful question).

The menu offers a wide range of Thai dishes, with each dish bringing bold, layered flavors that truly impress - everything we tried was delicious! The drink menu is just as thoughtful, featuring playful, inventive cocktails that perfectly complement the food. It s clear a lot of care went into crafting the whole experience, from the ambiance to the drinks and dishes. The food is 10/10, the flavours are absolutely all there. Our only problem was that the portions were extortionately small (weve had shared dishes across toronto and these were 1/2 the size of the smallest weve had). $120 each and we left still starving (we ordered the reccomended 5 dishes to share for 2 ppl). Not sure how this is Michelin bib because its cheaper to eat and get filled at a 1 star. Again, the food is 10/10, but sadly small.

The Most delicious food! My partner and i went on a date night here, ordered the ousters and broccolini to start. Very yum! He got the duck curry and I got the vegan version of it which is mushroom. Absolutely delightful!! The waitress brought us drinks on the house to make up for the long wait time which was very very sweet. Loved the atmosphere as well, busy but not rowdy. I cant believe I waited this long to try out Favorites Thai BBQ. I am in awe of the Chefs Choice Tasting Menu, which, in my humble opinion, captures the essence of this dynamic restaurant, wonderfully. We were started off with the stellar oysters and the vegan meat on pineapple, followed up by the brilliant beef tartare and the life-changing peanut sauce. Next, we had the mouth-watering ceviche followed by the super fresh squid salad and the smokey duck sausage. The pork secreto was next, which changed my brain alchemy, followed by the sour pomelo black cod curry, another brain-chemistry-altering dish. Our meal ended with the duck, which my partner liked so much that he saved it to bring back home and enjoy as leftovers. The holy trifecta of taste, skill, and sheer joy culminated our experience at THIS GEM OF a restaurant, and Id like to personally thank our server Yaïza for simply being the best. I cant wait to be back to try out everything else remaining on the menu. P.S. The Mango Sticky Rice Cocktail and the Mahis FAVE Colada have now officially become our favorites, too. A restaurant that truly lives up to its name. Favorites, indeed.

4.5 stars! Our server was amazing and was attentive throughout our meal despite it being crazy busy. We got the set at $80 pp, and felt it was quite good for the value. Our favourites were the oysters, ceviche, and pork secreto. The food was overall very good, but I was surprised the 6 course meal didnt come with a dessert at the end. It was plenty for the two of us, though. I took 1 star off because their cocktails were not very good. My mojito tasted only of vodka, and the table next to us only took one sip of their cocktails as well.

Wow! The food was absolutely fantastic! Went here with some colleagues visiting from UK and Dubai. Another colleague brought us as this is his go to place. The oysters were the best I ve had in Toronto, the ceviche was delicious as were the chicken wings which were perfectly breaded, crispy and tasty. The lamb chops, pork secreto, and black cod were also excellent. Also tried the spicy duck sausage which was ok (admittedly I m not a sausage fan). We finished it off with the black sesame cheesecake which was very good but I wouldn t say is a must have. I could only do a few bites. Try their version of an Old Fashion! The service was excellent friendly, professional and attentive. Only downside is that it was extremely noisy, but I can t wait to go back!

Food is excellent. 10/10 flavors. The seating service and reservation system is questionable. I paid $20 to reserve a cooked over coals table. One would imagine this means you re going to have a view of the bbq being made. Nope, you pay $ just to sit at the bar getting splashed by the bartender making drinks. Seems a bit of a rip off.

I have been to Favorites many times and have always had a good experience, but tonight my party received exceptional service from Kenzie, which compelled me to leave a review. Favorites is a place where no matter how often you go, you can always be pleasantly surprised. The menu rotations are always stellar and so are their mainstays (SO to the Chiang Mai sausage!). Some beautiful wines on the list to accompany all that great food as well. Always a great time!

I enjoyed every dish we got. The dishes were well done and balanced. The portions were a bit odd because most dishes came in 3s. We would have to add an additional portion to most our dishes which adds to the listed menu price. Edit: the first 2 times I ate here the service was terrible. The food was so good that I kept going back. The third time, I got the same server but they improved significantly. I cant wait to go back!

Vegetarian options: Very poor experience as a vegetarian. They used to do amazing curries for takeout during covid, I didnt realize none of those are on their menu now -- just three meat curries, one with a veggie option, which was very disappointing for the price. Of course the strong suit here is meat -- but I was disappointed they couldnt throw together just one or two vegetable dishes that shone, in a cuisine that has so many.

Went for birthday because it had a 4.5 rating on google and seemed like a vibe. Ordered what seemed to be the best on the menu but everything was a disappointment. Bitter, no flavour, oh and did I say BITTER???? Don t understand how it has a Michelin bib and has a high rating tbh. Im a lowkey foodie that has been to over 100 restaurants in Toronto and this was probably the worst. Please let me know if you disagree because I got most of the menu and it was . Greens for days. How can you open a restaurant and not taste the food?????? The best thing was probably the mussels but you can t get that wrong. Tell me another restaurant and stg I ve been there and it s better. Michelin bib straight tasting like actual Michelin tyres. Okay it s creative but cmon man, this is not art, it s FOOD. Lol gg

Booked my birthday dinner here as a group of 8. We ordered pretty much the whole menu minus three dishes, and it happened to be half price wine Wednesday. Stellar grilled meats (we loved the pork secreto, lamb and char siu short rib), excellent curries (chicken was a sleeper hit and the confit duck was chefs kiss), delicious tartare and oysters with Thai spices, and Italian skin contact wine to complement the food. The ceviche was bright and fresh. The dishes were consistently delicious and flavour bombs that we all enjoyed. The service was excellent, from email responses and the care from our server during dinner. Will come back again.

Be sure to reserve a table as this place can get busy and it s understandable why. The first thing that catches your eye on the way in is the open kitchen and the modern interior. The space is lively and warm without being too tacky. We started off with the oysters and normally I m not too fond of seafood but the chilly jam with the oyster was absolutely delicious. The yellow tuna ceviche was one of my girlfriend s favourite, she could not get enough of it. My personal favourite has to be the cha siu short ribs, cooked on the binchotan grill giving it that mouth watering smokiness. Runner up would be the salads as I m not usually a salad type of guy, & it was hands down the best salads I ve ever had. If you like cocktails, then I d highly recommend the mango Daquiri. Unfortunately we did not get to the desserts as we were absolutely stuffed. Had I not devoured the fried chicken I probably would have room thinking back. Unlike me gatekeep this gem of a place if you can

Disappointed. I think this place tried too hard. While I enjoyed the vegan duck confit and charred vegetables, it didn t feel like homey cozy thai food. There are better options out there for vegetarians! Also, I wasn t impressed with the flavours for the sweet/savoury relish and the vegan duck curry - their base sauce tasted identical. Also, the relish dish came with unseasoned, whole (uncut) vegetables like radishes. Just felt like lazy plating, and downright confusing given the price point

Upon entering, we were promptly informed of our seating time limit, which was not an issue since we had plans afterward. However, we missed the warm welcome or inquiry about our evening. Plates were cleared before we finished, though the food itself was excellent with generous portions. The atmosphere was quite noisy; conversation was challenging even with the person directly across from me, let alone with the server explaining the dishes. The service felt impersonal, more focused on efficiency rather than a personal touch. I found the cancellation policy to be quite stringent, we almost had to cancel that morning. Despite making the reservation just two days prior, any cancellation would have led to a hefty $74 charge ($14 reservation fee plus $60 cancellation fee), which seems excessive. I have wanted to go to this restaurant for a year. Not sure I would go back.

There was an extreme cold & snowstorm warning the night of our reservation. Our reservation was at 7PM which is also their opening time, despite the extreme temperature we still made it to the restaurant 5 mins early The door was locked so we peeped into the window and we could only see their front dining room from Ossington st entrance, the place looked completely empty and in dark. I was worried some last minute changes happened because of the weather so I called to confirm if they are still open and whether we were at the right place, I was quickly interrupted mid-sentence : we open at 7PM you can t come in as if I was wasting their time. The person on the phone sounded colder than the -20 degree wind that was blowing onto my face as I spoke, they sounded so annoyed to even speak to me. I have never been rejected to enter a restaurant having arrived 5 mins early, I guess their expectations is for their guests to always arrive late? When we finally got in our host was the same guy that I spoke to on the phone, he was just as entitled in person, did not even bother to welcome us into the restaurant. I had high expectations for their food and it was alright, but I can t condone the horrible attitude. 1 star for the mediocre food, 1 star for our server, although the service was average at least she was professional enough to do her job. Our night was completely ruined regardless.

Another great Thai place in Toronto. Easy going family sharing style with Thai inspired cocktails. Everything we had was amazing and innovative. Just hope the portion was a bit bigger for what we paid (e.g. the spicy duck sausage was 2 tiny sausages for $19 dollars and some uncooked veggies and each tiny cocktail was $19). Other than the value for dollars, we did enjoy every dishes here. We will Ddefinitely comeback again, but will need to control the number of drinks we order cause they are pricey!

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to dine at Favorites Thai BBQ, and I m thrilled to share that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment the first dish was served, I was completely blown away by the explosion of flavors in every bite. The food is not just good; it s an exquisite culinary experience that makes every dish feel like a masterpiece melting in your mouth. We opted for the set menu, and let me tell you, it s an absolute must. The amount of food is generous, offering a diverse range of dishes that tantalize the taste buds in ways I hadn t imagined possible. The highlight for me was the sour prawn curry. The prawns, especially the head, were creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, leaving a lasting impression of delight. What makes Favorites Thai BBQ stand out even more is the incredible value. The set menu offers an abundance of food at such an affordable price, making it a perfect choice for anyone looking to enjoy a feast without breaking the bank. I cannot praise the chef enough for the remarkable job in bringing authentic, flavorful, and perfectly balanced dishes to the table. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Favourite Thai, a Michelin-recognized restaurant in Toronto, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. Tucked away inside the charming Saint James Coffee Shop, this hidden gem offers an adventure from the moment you step in. Greeted warmly by the staff, I was ushered into a world of authentic Thai cuisine that s hard to find anywhere else in the city. The menu is a treasure trove of flavors, but the duck curry and coconut curry stand out as must-tries. The duck curry, with its perfect blend of spices and succulent duck, paired with the creamy, indulgent coconut curry, creates a symphony of flavors that can only be described as a culinary delight. The ceviche appetizer, a refreshing and beautifully prepared dish, literally melts in your mouth, leaving you wanting more. Favourite Thai is not just a restaurant; it s an experience that captivates your senses and transports you straight to the heart of Thailand. The ambiance, service, and exquisite dishes make it the best Thai food in town, hands down. If you re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, make your way to the Saint James Coffee Shop and discover this hidden spot. Trust me, it s a journey worth taking for any food lover.

The ambience was on point; I love the decor with the dim lighting and they played some banging background music. The servers were very friendly, knowledgeable and the service was amazing. My friend and I went for dinner and while we still had food and drinks at our table, unfortunately, we had reached our seating time limit since the next reservation arrived. Instead of kicking us out, they were kind enough to move us to the front of the restaurant and provided us with free/new cocktails so that we could continue our conversation. I wasnt expecting they would do that at all but they went above and beyond with their service which was fantastic. The food was very delicious. It was a party in your mouth with all the different flavours coming together. Highly recommend!

Good food. Great space. Cool vibe. Service can be a bit hit or miss - nothing to write home about. It s a busy restaurant and they re not hurting for your business. It s expensive and the portions leave a bit to be desired, but that s par for the course in Toronto and especially on Ossington. Where they succeed is in elevating Thai cuisine in an interesting and delicious way and not many other places in the city do that as well this place. If you re ready to spend $100 to $150/head (depending on alcohol spend), and you re in search of some of the best Thai food in the city, it s worth checking out. Standouts on the menu are the wings, the lamb, any of the 3 curries, the oyster, and, the ceviche.

Loved our experience here! We were lucky to get a seat at the bar; definitely make a reservation if you can. We started with the oysters and the sweet and savoury relish. The oysters had some sweetness, some heat, and a little crunch. I really liked the Asian flare it brought to the oysters. The relish came with a variety of produce to pair with the relish. My favourite was the mango and the chips. We then got the charred veggies which was broccolini. It came with a vinegar-type sauce which was perfect with the slight bitterness of the charring. We finished with the river prawn sour curry. The prawns were huge and it was fun to get the meat out of the head and body of the shrimp. The curry was spicy but you can cut it a bit with the rice. I didn t love the pomelo that came in the curry but to each their own. Overall, great experience. Friendly staff and cool vibe. You almost get a speak easy vibe since you have to walk through the coffee shop. I ll definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options like the relish.

Recently visited this spot and loved the vibe and aesthetic. The place is cozy, but it gets crowded, making seating a bit tight. The food is top-notch, thanks to an impressive kitchen team, and the service from servers and bartenders is exceptionally friendly. While the menu leans heavily on spicy dishes with similar ingredients, the flavors are delightful. Id recommend a bigger group next time for the private room experience. Despite wishing for more variety in flavors, Im eager to return.

The overall restaurant experience was amazing! We sat at the bar which I think has the best seats in the house. You can watch the bartender whip up some fantastic drinks while also being able to see the cooks fire up the food in the kitchen. I really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant it has a simplistic yet modern Thai look. The lights are dimmed nicely giving the restaurant a nice mellow relaxing sunset feeling. We ordered Thai style oysters which are so good and you must order hands down. We also got the charred eggplant salads which is amazing and ceviche which I ended up ordering another dish of it. I also ordered the Lamb chops plate with the fingerling potatoes which was my personal favorite dish along with a side of Jasmine rice. Lastly we ordered the mango daiquiri and Thai margarita drink which are strong and good. We overall really enjoyed the vibe, music, location and service of staff was on point. The restaurant also has a unique entrance as you walk through a coffee shop then kitchen in order to enter the main dinning area which was again very unique. I highly recommend and plan to comeback.

Thai Faves is nestled right behind Sam James Coffee Bar giving it a cozy speak easy vibe. Expect a modern Thai fusion style when it comes to the food and novelty drink menu. Hot tip if you re a wine drinker check out the natural orange wine selection pairs well with any of the dishes and cuts the pallet well. You won t regret it! The crew is knowledgeable, friendly and they ll make sure you re well taken care of. Favorites is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is amazing and the service is always excellent. They also have a really interesting and high quality wine selection. I am very appreciative of the fact that they have an extensive gluten free menu however, their gluten free menu is also my only point of feedback. They have two gluten free menus to choose from: Gluten Free no Soy and Gluten Free Soy and Wheat OK . While there are some gluten sensitive individuals who can tolerate soy, I am unaware of any gluten sensitive people who can ingest wheat. I m unclear if the items on this soy ok menu are only subject to the added ingredient of soy, if that means they may be subject to cross contamination or something else entirely. I think this wording likely causes confusion for some diners and the restaurant may want to consider clarifying. Other than this small detail, it s truly a wonderful spot and I highly recommend it to all.

My suggestion would be to avoid the dessert (which fell short compared to the quality of the rest of the food) and opt for an additional appetizer, main or curry. Drinks were also well done. Service was great until the end when we waited 35minutes for them to bring us our bills brutal. 2 other things to note here is they only do the ~7 cocktails on their menu, wine and beer. They will not make you an off menu cocktail, not even a vodka soda lol. They also have a one bill policy and will not break down a bill for you even when you agree to a set menu for 7 ppl. Never experienced that in my 29 years of eating out. You d think with 18% auto gratuity they could split up a bill or at the LEAST provide it to you in a timely manner.

Amazing food and I m so glad that we decided to dine here! If you like Thai food, this is a must try spot and probably the best place I ve tried in Toronto so far. It can be overpriced for the quantity however the food is worth it. Thai style oysters were fresh, tasted good and a great way to start the meal. Next up, I really loved the flavours of the Northern Thai Sausage however one cut up sausage for ~$16 seems very overpriced, I expected more quantity for this price. The beef tartare was decent but if I had to choose again I d skip it since it s nothing special compared to other amazing dishes. Finally, the best dish of the night was the Seabream Green Curry. Highly recommend this, it tastes so good, very well balanced and the fish was also cooked to perfection. Again, I was really impressed by this dish and would definitely return. Walked into the Sam James Coffee Bar, which at 6pm closes shop and converts into a waiting space for Favorites restaurant. My daughter had made reservations and was exited to take me here. We were ushered into a dark hallway with ground lights to guide us past an open kitchen with large flame grills and into a long and unassuming dining space. We were greeted within seconds and the waitstaff offered to hang my jacket for me; I imagine because I was using a cane, but nice touch nevertheless and this type of service never hurt a review. The restaurant faces a laneway tagged with spray paint but if you look to the east, there s the Toronto skyline with the C.N tower, which for this Toronto native will always be a consolatory sight. Looking at the drinks menu, I was surprised to find no Thai beers since I ve always thought some of the more malty ones pair well with Thai curry. I opted for a pleasant local micro brew which went well with my fried calamari salad. The calamari was crispy and the salad was a wonderful combination of exotic flavours and aromas arising from the perilla leaves, banana blossom, cilantro and lime juice. The oysters were a great appetizer and the ensuing duck curry was worth the $45 just to watch my foody daughter have at it with gusto. Our server Kieran was prompt and courteous. The ambient lighting is well thought out and the vibe is upbeat but loud enough that you have to lean over when talking. As an ardent lover of curries spices and fish pastes I will definitely be returning.

I dont usually write reviews but Im shocked at their high rating. The wings were bland. The duck curry was extremely dry, although the curry was good it was very oily. They should really clarify the duck as a breast or leg, as I was expecting a breast (as seen in their social media). The leg was stringy and so dry it was almost inedible. I should also come with rice for the price, the $4 side of rice was tiny. Lastly the Thai tiramisu was one of the worst desserts Ive had. Was not a tiramisu, did not taste any marscapone. Tasted like the frosting I wipe off a grocery store cupcake and had zero Thai tea flavour. My friend and I travelled Thailand together, we both took one bite of the dessert and agreed it was awful. I truly wonder if the staff have tried the tiramisu or the duck leg before serving. They have an amazing space but unfortunately it is a trendy trap.

Each of the dishes was superb, in particular, the oysters and calamari salad being exceptional. They WOWed us! My dining companion expressed feedback that they felt the garlic on the tartare was a bit bitter to the server. They later came back saying they spoke with the chef and that it was an intentional flavour, and that they take feedback extremely seriously. Fantastic experience right from when I made the reservation. The staff was very responsive and clear with menu choices, mandatory tips and one bill only for larger groups. The entrance is a bit confusing as the restaurant is behind Sam James coffee bar, blink and you ll miss it. However, the dining room opens up once you get to the back. The decor is bright and cozy. It feels more like a private dining setting than a restaurant. Service was friendly, accommodating and efficient. We had a set menu for our group and everything tasted great. I particularly enjoyed the ceviche which was not only beautifully presented but tasted amazing, with a lot of flavours going on. The flatiron steak was well prepared but it was the sauce and side of cabbage that pushed it to the next level. Their steak tartare was the best I ve had, might be a bit too spicy for some though. A reasonable number of beers and wines are on offer plus cocktails. They have a large table that can accommodate ten or twelve at the back. Highly recommend this place!

Great place, amazing staff and fantastic food. Found this place on the Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. Whatever expectations I had were easily exceeded. We took the Everyday Faves and got more than enough food for 4 people. Everything was fantastic -really- but the chicken coconut, tuna carpaccio and pork were some of the most special dishes we d had. All the staff, including our waitress Kelly and Mouaataz, who made killer cocktails were very friendly, helpful and nice. Prices are very normal, and you will get WAY MORE quality than what to end.

One of the best spots in Toronto for Thai food! Their portions are meant to be shared so be prepared to split a few dishes. This is my 2nd time going and the lovely Mutaz made me and my boyfriend feel so so welcomed! He gave us great recommendations which we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the chicken wings and lamb chops. He took great care of us and checked in regularly. Can t recommend this place enough! Will definitely be back!!

Overall this place was a meh for me. The space and service were great. The value for the food was alright. We ordered the Thai oysters which were super delicious but came in 3, so we added a 4th which added to the already quite expensive price ($16 for 3). The ceviche was also quite nice. The mains we ordered (coconut smoked chicken confit duck leg swapped for the vegan alternative) were both really underwhelming. We were 4 and each couple had each ordered 2 apps, a main and drinks and left quite hungry. Probably won t be going back.

My new favourite restaurant in Toronto. Food, service and vibes are there. Tried the tasting menu which is affordable for the amount you get, I was very full afterwards but everything was DELICIOUS. Bravo to the staff that are very friendly and pretty.

Came here twice with a large group. On both occasions, everyone left impressed. Food is not only delicious, but they serve interesting and creative dishes that really go beyond the standard Thai fare you get at other restaurants. Their service is also outstanding. We came as a 16 person group and did the family style tasting menu. They were able to provide accommodations to all of our guests with dietary restrictions without completely changing the menu for everyone else. This will definitely be my go to spot for group events.

Very nice experience in a modern setting. Arrive at a café and a hostess awaits you then you go through the kitchens before sitting down at the table. Perfect service, everyone has their role and knows it very well. The dishes are beautiful and good with an explanation each time. We opted for the 6-course tasting menu with food and wine pairing in 4 glasses. The pairings were well thought out. Modern minimalist but warm atmosphere. Awarded by the Michelin guide in 2022 and 2023, I highly recommend taking a visit if you are in Toronto! An exceptional and modern Thai!

I visited here tonight to celebrate my birthday, and while the food was excellent, it was our server Mutaz who truly enchanted our experience. His exceptional service and warm smile made our evening memorable. I really want to commend Mutaz for his outstanding work.

Get the ceviche! My friend has had every ceviche in Toronto and says this is the best one. Courses were paced perfectly, and the vibes were good. Mutaz was the best, loved his recommendations and personality!!

Food was toilet water for the money we spent. Oysters and the ceviche were only good things we had. The char sui and coconut chicken could have been 10x better. Lots of potential for sure. Questionable bib gourmand award seeing as how prices were mad expensive and portion sizes were aight. Sorry but i had to do it to y all

Went to Favorites with high expectations, given that it s on the Michelin guide - but was disappointed, to say the least. I don t eat meat or seafood, and have certain preferences for food - there were 3 items on the menu that were vegetarian. The duck curry was for $45, and upon asking the waitress if I d be charged the same price if I asked for the duck to be substituted with mushrooms, she said it would probably be $5 off - making it $40 for a mushroom red curry. I didn t think I wanted to pay that for one dish, when I dont even enjoy mushrooms that much. I attempted to order charred vegetables, and the waitress truly looked at me with contempt and disgust and said I wouldn t order that - I d strongly recommend you go with the curry coz that s just vegetables. Her tone was extremely rude and unpleasant, so I decided to skip food. I didn t want waitresses looking down upon my food preferences. Anyway, she walked away before I could complete my sentence - she said Oh you re not eating, then? and I was in the middle of ordering a drink but she walked away. She also told us that we would need to order at least 2 dishes per person, but we would have 100% over-ordered if we had listened to her advice. Between 5 people, my friends ordered 3 curries (2 chicken and one prawns), 2 plates of wings, and the impossible relish. They were all satisfied with the portions, and the quantity they ate. My friends found the food to taste pretty good, but nobody s mind was blown away by the taste. The prawn curry was a little hard to eat. The chicken curry was very flavorful, the lychee gave an extra burst of flavour but there were only 3 lychees in a large dish. We were all put off by the waitress demeanour - she actually was rude to 2 others (in a group of 6) as well. I had the Yuzu Gin cocktail (when I finally managed to get the waitress to take my drink order) - it did not have as much yuzu as I d like, but it tasted nice and tart nonetheless. Overall, great ambience, good drinks, decent food, but absolutely terrible service. Unfortunately, none of us will be going back for sure.

Been here many times and brought my friends and family here many times. Definitely one of my favourites. The only problem is that it could get very noisy and loud inside to the point I would need to yell when I talk. Lol

We ordered the chef s menu, the food tasted okay. The service was very unpleasant. We were only given 1hr and 40 min for the table, while it should be 2 hr (what they told the guests before us). We were told to leave in 20 min or have the food packed up, when they served our last two dishes. While the tasting menu has quite a lot dishes and we were in a rush to finish them. In addition, the waitress took away our unfinished cocktails without asking. We were in a shock as there was still 1/3 left in the glass. We regret not expressing our dissatisfaction on the spot due to the overall unsatisfactory experience.
