769 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6C 1B4, Canada
Narrow, rustic space built around an open kitchen, with Southern Italian fare & wood-oven pizzas.
I’ve been to this restaurant more times than I can count, and every visit impresses me all over again. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions that never disappoint. I’ve brought so many friends here, and without fail, they leave raving about how amazing it is. If you’re looking for a place with great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is it. Highly recommended—you won’t be disappointed! P.S. The magic mushrooms are to die for!
Great atmosphere. Staff is awesome. I've has the pizza, pastas, ensalatas and drinks. Love it all. The last time there I had the meatloaf special with mash, gravy and greens and it was deadly! Come. Enjoy this great neighborhood resto/bar
Food was really good. Margherita pizza was amazing. The lobster spaghetti special was delicious as was the rib eye. Best tiramisu we've tried also!
We were early for our reservation, however we only had to wait about 5-10 for them to accommodate our small group. Services and food were great. Enjoyed my birthday dinner
We loved everything we ordered, the pizza was just so good and I like it and this is from a person who is not into pizzas. The fusilli chicken was just flavourful. The Staff are just so wonderful and cozy place to enjoy a quiet dinner.
Dined mid day on a Saturday. Service staff were all friendly, and professional. Once we ordered food it took some time, even though the restaurant was quiet at 3pm. All the food was phenomenal, better then most Italian restaurants. One exception: the calamari which had to be sent back due to it being over cooked and rubbery. A small slip up sadly. The staff was quick to recover. At the price, this place is affordable for the quality of food. Overall I will be giving this another chance as the food and service tip the scales over the slips ups. Few corrections and Ferro bar will crush the competition. Constructive feedback: The restaurant has a cool aesthetic, but the thing it was missing was some music to brighten up the vibe a bit in the lull between the lunch and dinner rush. Dining in dead silence is a bit odd. Also, The men's bathroom needed a freshen up as well.
Ferro made for such a fun night out! The vibe was laid-back yet buzzing with energy, perfect for hanging out with friends or a casual date. We ordered the lobster pizza and pasta, and they were both amazing—full of flavor and the perfect portions to leave us feeling satisfied. Plus, they offer all kinds of chili and spice options, which made everything even better. And shoutout to our server, Anita, who was super pleasant and really made the night with her excellent service. Definitely a spot to keep coming back to!
We have been dying to come here for over a year because of their Instagram and reviews from friends. I really wanted the lasagna but we found out that they don’t start serving it until after 3 or 4pm. I was disappointed at first but we will have to try and come back another time. Everything we ordered was great, I cleaned off my plate of bolognese and the servers were very nice. I really hope we get a chance to come back and try the lasagna but I’m pretty sure you can order anything here and it will be good. Thanks!
The portion was large, but the cheese smelt bad. It also wasn t in the fridge, there were 10 million fruit flies, on the wall right next to our heads. The lasagna tasted old. The bathroom was disgusting. The waiters were throwing shots back and the bus boy helped us more. My stomach is a mess this morning and I can t stop going to the washroom. I am really grossed out about this place.
The chefs here are excellent. Pappardelle ai Funghi is the best mushroom pasta in the city.
Love this place. Great food, service and atmosphere
Ferro is always my go to spot for a dinner out. The food is delicious, workers are so friendly and welcoming, and the music and ambiance is always perfection. My favorite place!!
WALKED INTO FERRO AT 2:53 PM TODAY, SUNDAY DEC 15TH, 2024. UPON PULLING UP, WE SAW THEIR OPEN SIGN WAS LIT UP. UPON ENTERING WITH MY HUSBAND AND BABY, WE WERE GREETED BY A YOUNG LADY WHO ADVISED US TO WAIT OUTSIDE SINCE THEY WERE CLOSED FOR THE NEXT 10 MINS. HOW INSINCERE OF THIS SERVER OR HOSTESS TO ASK US TO WAIT OUTSIDE FOR 10 MINS? SHE COULD NOT EVEN OFFER US A TABLE AND SOME WATER TO WAIT WHILE SHE GOT WHATEVER IT WAS TOGETHER? AVOID THIS PLACE, DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.
I used to live in the neighbourhood and Ferry was easily one of my top 3 restaurants. The food is so good I drool just thinking about it. They have some of the best pizzas Ive had in the city. The flavour combinations are just incredible. I love that they have different lasagna creations every night. Our go to would always be the lasagna and a pizza and split. The tiramisu is so good too and they give you a nice hearty piece. We typically got take out and ate at home, but once in awhile wed go in person. If theres one thing they can improve on, its the service. Its always pretty spotty and takes awhile to get noticed.
They totally messed up our takeout. Forgot to put the chicken on our salad that we paid for. They apologized said theyd call us back, nobody called back. Next day I called, they said they were too busy but would call the next day after 3pm to refund us. Someone called at 330pm, i missed the call. Ive since called multiple times, left voicemails and nobody will call back. Clearly because they tried to call once they dont care. Avoid takeout from this place. The kitchen messes up the orders all the time and the management could care less about the customers. You have to chase them down to fix their mistakes.
While I used to absolutely love Ferro and have hosted many birthdays and dinners there. I sadly cannot recommend it any more. While the food when you are dining in the restaurant is still excellent and the dine in service is great, the same cannot be said for their service with food leaving their restaurant. Unfortunately over the past few years the level of care and service especially for takeout food has dropped to the point that when an order comes completely correct it is actually surprising. The fact that we have come to expect some small error, even with notes on the order or calling to make the order to ensure it is correct, is shocking to me. On more than one occasion we have had items missing or notes not followed and typically we will just brush it off or take the refund through the delivery service. But the most recent time we ordered 2 of the exact same items (both with chicken) and only one of them had chicken - which cost $7 extra to add for each order. When we called we were told to come back and get the chicken or a refund for just the item they missed (not really a feasible option) and when we said we couldnt were told someone would call us back, and they never did. Once getting in touch with the manager we were told we would get a refund, then they called us and asked if they could do an e-transfer because the system was down. We said no problem and guess what - the refund never came. We have now called and reached out an no one is responding. We are very understanding that mistakes happen, but this is enough. If a mistake is made, the customer is not treated well and at the bare minimum refunded the money that was taken, that is plain wrong. Ferro has lost a customer for life with this behaviour, and I cannot recommend a place to anyone that shows such little value and respect for their customers time and money. In the end we as customers are choosing to spend our hard earned money at restaurants or stores, so we will be taking ours to places that value us.
Great food and great service. I highly recommend the magic mushrooms!
Great staff and atmosphere :)
Such a cute little spot. Food was amazing!
Cant believe we didnt know of this place sooner, such a delicious meal, really attentive service, and a very lively place. Looking forward to coming back and trying all the different pasta and pizzas
Lord what an amazing place, the food is top-notch. Pasta was perfectly al-dante the sauce is perfect. The pizza is a MUST TRY since the even-ness of cheese and zucchini is amazing.
Excellent! The chicken parm is amazing! Hot and tasty chicken cutlet crowning a generous serving of pasta - better than anyone in Little Italy. You wont leave the table hungry. Magic mushrooms are just a great treat. The place is busy - a good busy, hopping with great atmosphere. Strongly recommend.
The food was atrocious. The parmesan cheese had turned and smelled rotten. The house special, lasagne ragout, made fresh was served barely thawed from being frozen. The outside edges were barely warm; the centre was ice cold. When I told the server, she offered to reheat it, again. I said no thanks; I was there for an event and didnt want to draw focus. Besides I can microwave it too. If I wanted a reheated frozen dinner, I could have pulled one from the freezer. At least it would have been warmed all the way through. I didnt need to go out to a restaurant and be promised fresh pasta and get served frozen. No apologies, no credit on the bill, but they added the gratuity. I wont be back. Horrible experience.
I ordered the burrata e bomba which is listed with a piece of toasted bread, rapini, and confit tomato s but just received a piece of burrata on top of arugula with regular tomatoes and some hot sauce on the side
I was a nice time , i enjoyed it
Ordered off Uber Eats and received 1/3 of my order. The Magic Mushrooms were delicious though. UPDATE: Emailed the restaurant back and didn t get a response almost a week later.
The 2 stars are only because my wife said her nhoque was good. Everything else, awful. Service was awful. Waitress was late for work and then looks like their lunch operation crumbled. Total lack of organization. And honestly, even after the arrival of the waitress, things didn t get any better. My food was also terrible. The fusilli with rose sauce was below average, and the chicken parm was the driest I ever had. You can get a better one in a big chain restaurant like BP or East Side Mario. My first and last experience at this place, I m not getting back anytime soon. The lasagna is not available at lunch time, even though they have it available, but only for posting on social media. There is no interest from their part in serving it to you, even if you ask. They care about their Instagram page more than they care about their customers. If you re in the neighborhood and looking for good Italian food, go to Sugo. Do not waste your money in this place.
Spectacular evening: food, service....a tad loud as everyone was obviously enjoying themselves...the price of a great evening.
Fantastic food and service! Restaurant a bit loud
Hearty Italian food. Too many choices. Starters to main meals all good.
Came here with a group of five others. Right off the bat was given two bottles of sparkling water, which the server opened. One bottle went untouched and was completely flat by the time we noticed he had opened it. The food was mediocre, gnocchi appeared to be what you might buy in a grocery store with their own sauce on top. Similarly pasta itself was not high quality, their sauces were however decent. When we finished our meal the server informed me that there was a gratuity added to groups of 6. When I looked at it, I noticed it was 21.3 per cent, found the number very odd. When I asked to pay by card, I was informed that their policy on card is to round to the next .05. Found it beyond strange that when paying by credit, the transaction gets rounded up as though it s cash? When I asked about this I was told I ll get in trouble if I loose money on a transaction All and all very upset. Wrote back on their website before writing this, which went unanswered. Won t be heading back.
Highly recommend the Honey Truffle Pizza and to end with the tiramisu, every bite was a dream.
As an Italian I ate a fairly decent margherita pizza! Rating 6.5/10! Good service, you can drink a lot of water as soon as the glass is empty! Excessive price for a margherita pizza! I would have preferred to see some Italian pizza chef for such a high price!
Nice place. Our server was friendly. The food was delicious
We waited over 2 hours for food to be delivered, only for them to cancel our order. Now its 9pm and most restaurants will be closed and were still hungry.
The Magic Mushrooms are always a go-to when we go. The stone baked pizzas here are some of the best in the city. Pesto here is also very good.
One of the best Italian places ever. The pizza is awesome!! Remarcable, the owners as well as the entire personnel are so distinguished! Food
Nice place to go for a drink. The food is decent, however when it comes to customization they fall off. Being lactose intolerant, its a crap shoot to eat there so I avoid the food. Dietary restrictions: Dont expect restaurant to honour dietary restrictions.
This time at Ferro Bar and Cafe, I tried the smoked boneless beef short rib, which was nothing short of spectacular. The tender, juicy ribs, generously smothered in a rich bourbon sauce, offer a perfect blend of smoky and sweet flavors that dance on the palate. Accompanied by spiced Yukon potato wedges, crispy onions, and sautéed greens, each component complements the next flawlessly. The potato wedges, with their perfect seasoning, add a delightful crunch, while the crispy onions provide an extra layer of texture and taste. The sautéed Rapini offered a fresh, vibrant counterpoint to the richness of the ribs. Overall, this dish showcases a remarkable balance of flavors and textures, making it an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend Ferro, its our go to spot on the strip. Youll definitely see us again, and again!
Huge servings, good food, excellent service, a bit too noisy for my liking but lots of energy.
I ordered dinner from Ferro last night and I m just so taken back because the first photo is what I was expecting and the second photo is what I got. Not one mushroom in sight and if im not mistaken this isn t even a parpadelle noodle!?? Total buzz kill! I don t know what happened, I m honestly still kinda speechless about this whole experience. I hate to give a local, family run business such a low rating but this this is simply unacceptable. Wow
Had dinner at Ferro this evening was an amazing experience! Isabel served us, recommended the Calabrese Bianco which was absolutely delicious. Definitely will be going back!
I originally left a 5-star review three years ago, but my recent birthday visit left me disappointed. The restaurant was packed, possibly at capacity, which might explain the drop in quality. It felt like they prioritized serving more customers over maintaining the standard of their food. We ordered garlic bread, and it arrived cold and hard, with the cheese barely attached to the bread. I also ordered the fusilli, a dish Ive enjoyed before, but this time, it was lacking. There was only one piece of chicken, and a few small shreds at the bottom of the plate. Overall, Im not sure if Ill return. It was a letdown compared to my previous experiences.
The pizzas here are hard to beat. Other dishes also very good when sharing with others, but its the pizza we usually go for. Very tasty bread with oil as well, and the house dip for pizza is delicious.
Worst Service Ever. I was so excited to visit Ferro as I ve been following them on Instagram for years and their food looks mouth watering. As we ordered a bottle of wine the bartender spilled it all over the glass, put a napkin under it and left We were wearing white so we then cleaned up his mess. Server only attended us when we told the host we needed the server. We ordered the octopus and caesar as appetizers - octopus was all salt and the caesar was the worst. Where we were seated we can see in the kitchen and water was spewing all over the floor from the drain We then ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and Basil Pesto Burrata Spaghetti. The rigatoni was dry and the basil pesto spaghetti was swimming in sauce . When we paid for the bill they called us back because they forgot to charge us for the wine. Servers were slow and confused the entire night. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
This restaurant is SPECIAL- I had one of the best pizzas Ive EVER had anywhere the mushroom, pepperoni + green pepper one + the ambience is very special. I met up with a friend I hadnt seen in years + we had a magical time! Highly recommended!!!
Great options of authentic Italian food. Surprisingly good quantity for the price. Amongst my top-10 Date spots.
Great food, great portion sizes, good service, nice ambiance, reasonable prices. I will be back.
Was there last week with a friend, it was my first time and last. If I could give this place less stars I would. Service was bad, food disappointing and I am being very kind right now. Had tea, cups were not clean properly, food cooked at least a week before served most rude waitresses Ive ever seen.
We visited as part of our honeymoon after following them on Instagram! The food was cold, chicken was too chewy and looked nothing like Instagram. The waitress was rude and forgot our drinks, when we told the waitress we werent happy with our food she just looked at us and walked off. Overall the worst place we visited in Toronto and we wasted an hour round trip to visit the cafe.
One of the best pizzas in the city. Really like the taste, texture, and that thin crust with those flovour and cheese.. Would highly recommend it.
Update: I sent them an email in response to their request below. No surprises, but they did not even bother to answer the email. They are simply pretending to care so I cannot stress this enough, do not waste your time with these people. Truly the most atrocious service ever. Do not eat here if you have an intolerance or want any minor changes at all. Huge mistake on our Uber eats order, and the restaurant didn t even apologize, nor did they do anything to make it right. It s a shame because the food is good, but who wants to eat somewhere you re treated like a second class citizen for having an allergy, intolerance or even a special request. Absolutely mind blown that no one bothered to even call me back with a solution to my problem. Shocking.
The food was good for the most part and reasonably priced. However, the speed of service, communication and professionalism require some work. I had visited with a group of friends on a weekday and noticed there was a severe lack of servers relative to the amount of traffic in restaurant. I would recommend management increase the supply of servers not sure if this is due to a labour shortage or management trying to save every last penny on expenses. Some pasta my friends and I had ordered arrived cold and there was a lack of communication from our server throughout the process. It took too long to get our food and let alone, water on the table to start. While these are all understandable, our server just did not communicate at all with us during the dining experience. I would urge management to implement a standard procedure for their servers on quality checks. I reiterate, the food was up to par but would highly recommend visiting other establishments that are also around the area.
Amazing pasta, tastes like its made fresh in house. Great staff as well, super friendly and helpful!! Food
Food and location are great, pizzas are delicious and the mushroom bread appetizer. However service clearly wanted to go home at the end of the night and were unprofessionally chatting right in front of us. All would have been fine if they didn t forget the takeout order we had somehow, and then the chef was visibly upset since he d sat down for a drink at the bar. Probably won t be back given the other amazing options in the area
We went there for the lasagna but they didn t serve that for lunch. We wanted to try that so badly that we decided to have both lunch and dinner there. Firstly their waitress/bartender got my drink wrong and when I told her she wasn t so happy about changing it. The restaurant was filled with flies and when I asked to be moved she was really annoyed. The chef was scratching his back under his shirt with his gloves and there was open garbage there. The pasta was not soft enough for my taste and the sauce needed more salt. The food wasn t bad but wasn t WOW either but after the lunch experience we said that we would never go back.
Had the delicious Rigatoni with bolognese. The sauce had the perfect texture and flavour. The staff were very attentive. An excellent choice for pasta on St. Clair West.
Will never go back, not because of the food, but because of the terrible experience with who I assume was the manager. I went with my girlfriend this past weekend to celebrate my 25th birthday. We were both super excited to try it after hearing great things. Waitress was great, food arrived, and we began eating. The table was pretty crowded with a bunch of dishes we had ordered, and as we were chatting my elbow hit my side plate and it ended up falling and breaking on the floor. Already embarrassed for this happening, I reached down and tried to start picking up the pieces. Not long after their manager (who I believe was named Phil), rudely walks over and says what is this your first time in a restaurant? I was pretty taken back by this comment as I have been in many fine dining restaurants and never thought management would respond so rudely to someone accidentally breaking a plate. We quickly finished up the meal and left. Food was awesome, but will never go back because of Phil. Crazy how what was supposed to be a great evening can be ruined by one rude individual.
They don t respect uber drivers
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ferro Bar, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with cozy lighting and charming decor that exudes authentic Italian charm. The highlight of the evening, however, was our server, Phil. His exceptional service truly elevated our dining experience. Phil was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. He guided us through the menu with ease, offering excellent recommendations and sharing interesting tidbits about the dishes and their origins. Our meal began with a selection of appetizers, including the bruschetta and calamari, both of which were fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I opted for the classic Spaghetti Meatballs, while my girlfriend chose the Margherita Pizza. Both dishes were superb, showcasing the chef s mastery of traditional Italian cuisine. Throughout the evening, Phil checked in on us regularly, ensuring that we had everything we needed and that our glasses were never empty. His genuine enthusiasm and passion for his job were evident in every interaction, making us feel valued and well-cared for. To finish off the meal, we indulged in the Tiramisu, which was the perfect blend of rich coffee flavor and creamy texture. Phil s recommendation was spot-on, and it was the perfect end to a delightful evening. Thank you Phil, we will be returning soon!
I ve been to Ferro a few times and this time was so wonderful I had to leave a review. Our server Phil was so kind and amazing proving such great service. Phil has such a great sense of humour and always provides such a welcoming dining experience! I got the linguine burrata and my friend ordered the beef ribs upon Phil s request. The food was great as always and we love chatting with Phil. Will definitely be back soon!
Nice place, enjoyed it
Drove from Hamilton, in part for the lasagna special. 4 of us at a high top in the bar area. Bartender took our order without writing anything down. 5 dishes. Made me repeat the order because *see above*. First three dishes came and were decent. 20+ minutes passed waiting for last two dishes. We finally asked how much longer. After 5 minutes, learned there was a mix up because *see above* and it would be a little while longer. Two of us heard her mutter something different - I heard her say they d comp one or both dishes (unexpected), one of my dinner mates heard a comp glass of wine. In the end, neither happened. Pasta dish came out. Finished quickly by the four of us. Still waiting on that coveted lasagna. It came. It was cold. Not not hot . Not warm . It was out of the fridge cold with a *bit* of heat from the sauce poured on it. When we said as much, complete indifference. We asked for the check. Not surprisingly, there were no adjustments or anything other than the uneaten cold lasagna taken off the bill. It wasn t a full house and it seemed like there was no shortage of FOH or BOH staff. Just a team of staff who didn t give a damn.
Went for dinner Saturday night Food was delicious.... Great atmosphere Amazing restaurant Food : 5/5
If youre ever thinking about going. JUST GO!!!! Hands down the best lasagna and magic mushrooms ever!! 10000/10!
As always, I had my favorite Salmone Agro Dolce salad My friend also tried the dessert because she wasnt very hungry. Frankly, this salad is really important to me because the fish is cooked perfectly. The fish that comes in slices is cooked but not dry at all. The interior design of the shop is very nice, the only problem is that it is too dark for me Since you are very close to my house, you can be sure that I will not give up on choosing you. We liked everything very much, thank you
My sister and I walked in as it was a torrential downpour and decided to have a bite to eat and was met with a less than enthusiastic host. We asked to sit at a larger table of 4 and was told we couldn t as they are very busy. The restaurant was dead inside with only a few people scattered about and walked out. Hardly think they would get a rush of people during a rainstorm. Hired friendlier people Ferro if you want to keep your customers. I understand the need to maximize your tables when it is actually busy but could have made an exception considering you weren t busy at all. Will never come back. Sent you an email as requested and no reply. Ridiculous.
When we first walked in the restaurant nobody greeted us, all the staff just kept walking by us and completely ignoring us for at least 5 minutes. Terrible first impression. Ordered a drink with no alcohol, was charged full price. $20 for mix. We ordered the Calamari and it was extremely tough and hard to chew. We politely sent it back. Had the prosciutto pizza and the bolognese for our mains. They were ok. Staff barely checked on us while we were there. At the end we asked for the bill, and the calamari was of course still on the bill. We paid. Will never go back.
Good atmosphere below average food
First visit of many! Loved it!
Fero Bar & Café should be better known in the city. Its truly a hidden gem. Though we usually order in, this time we decided to visit and discover who cooks like mamma Italia in the heart of Toronto. The salad, Burrata E Bomba, and fish risotto were heavenly, and the house wine was divine. The atmosphere felt like a cozy corner of Southern Italy, and we left even bigger fans. Grazie mille, ci ritornerò!
Everything is great...
My friends and I dined at Ferro on August 2nd and were extremely disappointed with the service. The confusion began immediately with multiple staff members (a total of four) handling our order, from food to drinks and payment, so it didnt seem like anybody really paid attention to our table. To make matters worse, the pizza we initially ordered arrived cold and the replacement was burnt. When the bill arrived, we were incorrectly charged for the original pizza (Bufala Margherita) instead of the replacement (Margherita Tradizione). Despite bringing this to the server s attention, we were met with rudeness. We eventually spoke to the owner, who was informed of our experience in detail, including providing our contact information. Given our direct communication with the owner, we doubt the restaurants standard response in this review forum will be helpful. If they really wanted more feedback they would have called already so were going to assume their reply is just a copy and paste to make it seem like they care.
Just a great neighbourhood pasta and pizza joint, that serves probably the best mussels Ive ever had!
Smashing IT! Ive been going to Ferros since the 90s. Tonight, I decided to have dinner at Ferros since the last time I paid this place a visit was during the lockdown and ordered one of their amazing pizzas to go, and I am so glad that I did. I ordered the meatball with pasta, Caesar salad, then for dessert Tiramisu and coffee. The meatballs were so amazing. The Caesar salad authentically made, and the Tiramisu was perfect! Had the pizza many times as well at Ferros, and it was amazing as well. Love the staff. From the waitstaff to the cooks to the bartenders! I know the original owner from the old high school gang. Frank always had a flare for good taste and cultivated a sense of home when experiencing ones visits to his restaurants. This is a place where its not just about great food its also about family. Great energy and great vibes! Expect to spend a few hours here when you visit because it feels like home.
Went here with a group and the food was great and drinks were great! Staff were wonderful. Definitely recommend for group dinners. Dietary restrictions: Was able to get the Carmelo pizza minus the cheese and it was delish!
We went here for lunch with friends, and the entire experience from, service to food was exceptional. The service was top notch. Waiters and waitresses ensured that we were taken care of during our whole visit, ensuring our drinks were topped up, and checking in every so often. THE FOOD what can I say except it s true what they say you eat with your eyes first, and this meal was delicious. The presentation was absolutely stunning. I will definitely be coming back here to try every dish.
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We order the Piatto Di Pesci and it was delicious. Pizza was amazing. Service was fast and friendly.
One of our favorite spots! The food is outstanding and the service is wonderful. A neighborhood institution!
The pizza not good. Tomato sauce tastes like it was out of an old can, the same for all the toppings. The service was slow, and they did not ask us for feedback on the food or if we needed anything. Price was not worth the quality. The bathrooms are nasty! No paper towels, body fluids all over on the floor that lead out of the bathroom to the dining area in the back. They pre-charged tips of 20% and when we questioned, they said it s because they need more staff.
Love the food at Ferro and come here often. My only complaint is that the restaurant does not update its hours on OpenTable. There have been two occasions where I have booked reservations in advance through OpenTable, just to show up at the restaurant for there to be a sign on the door that it is closed. This happened once when I had booked a reservation for 5 people during January 2021 and most recently on Canada Day. Both occasions I contacted the restaurant through its website feedback form and did not receive a reply .
Ferro Bar Cafe offers an exceptional dining experience with outstanding food. The Magic Mushroom and Linguine Pesto Cream dishes are absolute must-tries, each bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious, high-quality Italian cuisine.
I recently visited this cafe restaurant with friends and had a terrible experience. We were charged an exorbitant price of $54 for three tequila shots of Casamigos Gold, even though the bartender initially told us the total would be $17. To make matters worse, we were actually charged $70 in the end! We went to the place next door, and they only charged $6 per shot for the same tequila. The pricing here is outrageous and feels like a total scam. I strongly advise against going to this place. Save your money and go somewhere else!
Had dinner a few weeks ago and cant say I would return. The burrata pizza was good but the crust was much too burnt to eat! Eggplant parm was good, not great, just good. The service however was horrible, our waiter came to our table only twice, never asking if we needed anything or if the food was good. He brought the plate of pasta (Linguini) and didnt ask if we wanted parmesan...we had to wave down another server minutes later. The tomato sauce with the linguini was a bit bland- we expected true italian dishes in this italian restaurant but thats not the case.
The food was absolutely delicious. My friends and I loved the place. Great atmosphere, service and food. We were impressed by how fast we got our meals. We are looking forward to going back and trying different dishes.
THE BEST
The food was not really great. I think I could go to East Side Mario s to get a better Italian food than this. Service was bit hurried and they were trying to clear us out fast. So if you looking to eat and have some wine or beer and chat with you partner , seems like not a great spot. Food
Two stars for the food and that s strictly all. The service is terrible here. I came with a group on a Wednesday night and the experience was barely positive. It took 15mins before we were greeted by anyone. Another 15mins just for our first drink to arrive at the table, and another 40mins waiting for our food, only for one of the dishes to come out near-cold. We sat there for over an hour with no food and no communication from our server. If we didn t flag her down, our server would ve only come to the table to take our order and give us the check. The service-kitchen pass thru is in the middle of the restaurant so you get the pleasure of watching the wait staff and kitchen yell and argue with each other over missing bills and incorrect meals coming out. I would not blame the wait staff for bad service as it is clearly a reflection of terrible management. I ve been here twice and seen no change, do not come here. Go to the Rushton or Nobo a block down the street instead.
Vegetarian options: The salads were really nice, and the eggplant Parmigiano was fantastic out of the dishes we tried in the menu. There was also a mushroom risoto and a pasta dish that sounded good that we didnt try. Their pizzas also looked fantastic. Food
Not impressed with the food! Salad portion way too small for $$. Eggplant meal well below comparable product elsewhere. Others in group not pleased w/meat (duck) pie. Automatic adding 20% tip ON TOP OF TAX is plain robbery. There is absolutely no justification for auto add of 20%... that should be left to patrons!
I m starting to notice a pattern amongst several Toronto, restaurants and cafés, where the dishes that are shown on their Instagram and Facebook pages look substantially different from what they actually offer in the restaurants themselves. This restaurant is now the third one that I ve experienced this issue with. Firstly, the condition of the restaurant seems to be rather tired compared to the way it s presented on social media. Specifically, the glass table that we sat at had a ton of scratches all over it, and the leg supports for the tables made it very difficult to get in and out of the seats. As shown in the pictures, we had a prosciutto pizza and a mushroom pasta. The pizza was actually pretty good, the only exception being that the prosciutto was rather thick, which made it difficult to bite into without pulling the entire piece of prosciutto off. The crustwas a stand out feature, reminding me of the complementary bread that used to be offered at Terroni on Queen West, a few years ago (it has an old world taste to it although definitely heavier than most thin crusts today). The pasta dish on the other hand, was quite poor. It arrived in a sea of buttery oil, as if it was a very hearty soup. The mushrooms were undercooked and rather, tough with no specific flavours were discernible. I think you can see from the picture of the pasta dish that I received while I was there, compares to what they advertise on their Instagram page . I really don t understand how this marketing strategy is going to work for these restaurants, as it sets very high expectations prior to arrival, only to be disappointed by the actual experience, which will most likely result in reviews like these. It was rather annoying that during the entire period that we had lunch there, there was a van parked right out in front of the restaurant (which is where we happen to to be seated) that was unloading food supplies, through the front door. Either pick a different time to do this, or have rear door access Lastly, considering that we were there for lunch, and that all we had was a fairly straightforward pizza and pasta dish, I consider $65 expensive, compared to other places I would go, to get better quality food, in a nicer neighborhood, and in a MUCH nicer restaurant (ie Terroni on Queen West would be a specific example)!
Dined here for the first time after looking up good Italian restaurant in my area on GOOGLE search. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was tasty, and large portions. Really enjoyed the grilled calamari. I give atmosphere 2 stars, because I feel that the restaurant needs to pay some closer attention to the decor (still Christmas decorations in May, and a deep clean would be beneficial). But again, staff were excellent, and the kitchen was great.
I may say I was amazed by the pictures of the food on Instagram. Particularly by the Lasagna. We went there by a Friday night. The place was not that busy, got a table right away. But after that we waited 15 min to get a menu, and wouldn t get if didn t asked for it. I ordered the Lasagna and my wife a Risotto with Salmon. The Lasagna was dry and not particularly fresh, and the Risotto didn t had any taste, almost like plain rice, and the Salmon, as plain flavour as the risotto. Too noise as well, even without no music, just people talking made it hard to have a conversation across the table. The portion size in other hand was big. But does not worth it. Maybe we will try it another time, but for the price I can t recommend it.
Was there for a large family event. The food was beyond amazing! From the appetizers (pizzas, magic mushrooms and lamb kabobs) to the amazing main courses (alla vodka, short rib and seafood platter) I barely had room to scarf down the deserts... but I did and the bread pudding was phenomenal! Great service food and atmosphere felt like Europe! Would 100% recommend!
Have eaten here around 15 times. Never disappointed and friendly staff deserves 5 stars.
Had a fantastic meal. Food was delicious, servers were very attentive! Will definitely be back!! Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible, and bathroom is also accessible.
Fair prices for food and drinks, good service, friendly atmosphere and cozy in general.
Delicious food. Amazing back room for large group celebration.
my mother and I had a lovely dinner, food was amazing, my mom had the chicken parm and I had the beef short ribs, both very delicious, and the desert were out of thus world, highly recommended flourless cake and the tiramaso, Micheal was attentive and helpful, all round a lovely experience, would recommended!! we were celebrating life as both of have recovered from major illnesses.
Top notch food, service & easy vibes. You won t regret giving it a try.
Great food, great service, great vibe.
Nice atmosphere and quick service. The portions are pretty big and delicious. I recommend everyone to try the pepperoni lasagna.
Best vegetarian pastas and gnocchi in Toronto
My octopus appetizer was absolutely incredible! So much flavour packed into it! Then I had a diavola pizza, and the pizzas here are excellent. I was quite full after this ap take note; the portions are generous :)
We were there for a double Baptism this weekend. Everything was absolutely delicious. Thank you
Great foods. Had a bit sand in mussel dish and probably it means they are right from the wild sea not from the farm !!!
Not impressed at all. The last two times weve ordered takeout the food has had issues. Their side salads are worth like 2$ for the size you get now. And tonight I ordered the Fusilli and the chicken came completely visibly undercooked. It was pink. In addition they didnt send me my $15.50 salad. Straight up didnt get the item. And then when I tried to call absolutely no one would answer the phone. So now Im out money and didnt get my meal.
Have been going to this restaurant since 2005 with my husband and loved taking family here for a special treat. Last night unfortunately this tradition will end! Same waitress we have gotten prior however her attitude yesterday evening for our table of 12 people was ridiculous. I asked for a simple adjustment which was substitute risotto with anything pasta veggies potatoes anything. Yesterday apparently there were no substitutes because restaurant was very busy. Again been coming here forever had this dish before with restaurant this busy with no issues. Did explain this to her and she look at me and said NO. So didn t want to be a problem so picked the first thing on menu I saw because everyone at my table was excited to order. Food all came out and served with my nephews pasta being forgotten and had a 10 minute delay arriving. Calamari appetizer was dry chewy and tasted like burnt grill. Bruschetta was delicious and fresh as usual and food was decent. This waitress seems tired with no patience to deal with customers and people. Her tip came pre determined as we were a big party (that is fine especially for a large group like ours and expected) however customer service any checking on a party of 12 people more than 2x in 2.5 hours is not out of the ordinary. We all felt like her tip is guaranteed so why put in the work .. Bus boy at the restaurant saved our tables service and experience. Lastly and this gave us a good laugh and just the cherry on top of our last visit here was we were celebrating a birthday and requested a birthday cake just to embarrass him and get him to blow out a candle. 4 slivers of tartufo ice cream that was freezer burnt and charged $7.50 for that on a $600 bill LOL
Great spot. Excellent food. Huge portions, which is rare for an Italian restaurant in Toronto. Our 2nd time here, will definitely be coming back. Isabelle and Jacob were great.
Beautiful event venue hidden inside + delicious food!
Great food and customer service
My 2 years old son was eating their meatballs and spaghetti and spit this out, last time I ever buy from you.
Everything we Tried at Ferro Bar & Café Since 1993, Ferro Bar & Café has been delighting patrons with Italian fare including wood-fired pizza, fresh pasta and seafood. The space has a hand-painted ceiling above the bar and lots of steel decor, a nod to its namesake - Ferro, the Italian word for steel. This underrated gem has been proudly serving up homestyle dishes for over three decades; definitely worth experiencing. @melissa_foodie.fun $$
Although it was super busy, the bartender, host, and waitress were very pleasant and hospitalable. As usual the food is outstanding
A great place for a date. Exceptional food and wallet friendly! I d recommend the Piatto di Pesce, it s huge and the single serving fed both of us (along with an appetizer).
Simply amazing! Super tasty food , great service and very fair price . Congrats Ferro !
Food was so good. How good? Didnt have time to take a picture, good
The food was excellent. The portion sizes are big and the service was warm and welcoming. This place is a gem of an authentic taste of Italtly. Its a must try.
We ve been regular customers for years and have always enjoyed the food here. Last week, we picked up an order and got home to find no salad dressing was included for a $20 caesar. We called and requested a credit for the next time we ordered and were surprised to be told no, that instead we could come back and pick up the dressing. I left a message for the manager, Michael the next day before service figuring maybe they were just scrambling during busy Saturday service but he wasn t working and didn t bother to call me back. There are just too many great neighbourhood restaurants to bother with one that doesn t seem to know how to make it right for their customers. We re sad to write this neighbourhood restaurant off, but there is no excuse for that kind of service.
Busy even on weekdays. Pizza and pasta are some of the best in the city. Dont expect attentive service which can be refreshing.
Please never order from Uber eats or if you want a delivery service. I ordered three times and my order always had a problem. So disappointed! Food is good! But the service is terrible!!
As always, the food was excellent. The only difference was that the noise level was louder than usual, which is usually high. Also the service was slower than usual. However, the restaurant was packed and this could be the source of the noise and slowness.
Meeting a friend for dinner during a recent visit to Toronto, we ended up at a place near his new workplace on St. Clair Avenue West, an area of Toronto Im not too familiar with. Ferro Bar & Cafe was a cozy spot and pretty busy on a Friday evening, but we were seated quickly at a high top table. I find these awkward to get into and prefer a table and chairs of the usual height, but any port in a storm as they say. We started with the BRUSCHETTA POMODORO as an appetizer which helpfully came with four pieces -- two for each of us. It was tasty, flavorful and fresh. Sometimes bruschetta tastes like the topping was made long ago but this tasted fresh and a good start to the meal. I had pondered my choice of main long and hard, pre-scouting the menu online as I usually do. While Ive been on a protein over carbs kick of late, being at an Italian restaurant I put this aside and ordered the GNOCCHI ALLA GORGONZOLA, described on the menu as Fresh potato gnocchi in an Italian gorgonzola-cream sauce + parmigiana + honey walnuts. I like me a good gorgonzola-cream sauce and this one was rich, flavorful and delicious. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly, portion was good, and I liked the inclusion of the walnuts for a textural contrast. My only note would be that they could have been more generous with the walnuts. I broke them up so I could enjoy them more.
Delicious meals, great atmosphere. Sometimes necessary to wait order long time, but its because guys are so busy. Strongly recommend this place Food
Loved the pasta
Food was delicious. Noise level unacceptable unless you are going to dance. Music was so loud that we could not have a decent conversation without yelling and we were at a nice round table. People go to a restauarant such as this to catch up. There is no need for blasting music.
The pizza and bruschetta were outstanding, with fresh and delicious ingredients. The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was prompt. I look forward to returning to sample more items from the menu.
The pizza is to die for. The cheesy bread is drop dead gorgeous.
Nice place for dinner and drinks with a group of friends .
Food was good, however I had higher expectations based on other folks reviews.
Next time in town, must visit again for sure!!!
Get the wood fire oven pizza. Youll be glad you did!
Food was delicious but service was terrible blonde haired girl saw us waiting in the doorway for a table and walked away and didn t seat us for another 15 mins, just making us stand there while there were many available tables. Even after we got seated, she didn t bring a menu to us for ANOTHER 15 mins. Overall felt unwelcome and it s a shame because we came here because of great previous experience but definitely has gone downhill.
Sadly had sea food pasta which I used to always order years ago. Sadly it was really bad mushy waiter said grill wasted working. The wine was good and the gin and tonic. Service was pretty poor and gave 10 or 15 percent waiter wasnt friendly at all. Wont be going back.
My first visit to this restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While the funghi pizza was absolutely delicious and worth recommending, the overall experience fell short. The service was notably poor, and the wait for food was excessively long. Although Im uncertain if Ill return, Id suggest giving their funghi pizza a try. A dish I would not recommend is the minestrone soup.
The worst customer service. Have been ordering on Uber eats for over a year. Today received an order that was completely wrong for a completely different guest. My order was $85. Call to let them know - Absolutely nothing from them except excuses that the Uber driver grabbed it. Then get a better system ? How is this the guests fault? Someone ordered from you, didn t receive what they paid for the fix is simple a credit for the product not received guaranteeing another sale and a returning guest.Telling me to get Uber to help, have you ever tried submitting a claim on Uber? They re the worst for support. Also shout out to the manager who refused to come to the phone the first time -you asked but the phone was not on hold. It s crazy you d rather lose a guest. Won t ever be ordering again.
Friends were visiting from out of town so we decided to try a cozy vibe. The mushroom toast appetizers were heavenly as they just dissolved in your mouth. The calamari and octopus paired with spicy bomba also elevated the experience followed by a delicious pairing of their Domenico pizza. The service was quick and attentive. The mains were delicious from boneless ribs to the pastas. I felt the food could do a little less with extra oil but overall very flavourful and perfectly seasoned. For the atmosphere, one area of improvement could be on the hue of the red light. It was a bit challenging to see the actual food colour as that s part of the dining experience. I still highly recommend Ferro Bar & Cafe as a date spot or a meal with friends and family! Parking: Green P along the street as well as a parking lot one block out.
Great place, great food! Was in the neighborhood with a friend and decided to stop here for dinner, was absolutely amazing! Service was great and food was divine!! We got the Alla Vodka, Gnocchi Gorgonzola and the wine special of the day. Everything was perfection. Will definitely be back.
Perfect ambience, good lively cozy energy on a cold weeknight, buzzing atmosphere. The pasta we tried was nothing special, the linguine rose, disappointing. The salad was good and the meat dish was good.
I got the eggplant parmigiana and it was delish! The atmosphere was lovely and food arrived super quick. Overall great experience! :)
Excellent across the board!!! Food was delicious! Staff a delight! A special thank you to Lillie she was so attentive and kind. I meant to thank her the last time but didn t know her name. But I asked her this time. Thank you to all staff who went above and beyond to make sure I had a great night.
I was served burnt octopus. It was literally black. And when I sent it back, an employee came out and told me that s just how we serve it, would you like to order something else? .What??? Completely disrespectful and just wrong. You can make grilled octopus and not burn it to a crisp. Such a disappointment, and I felt very belittled.
I had the short ribs. Very tasty sauce and tender meat. It was a very large portion, so I took half of the portion home for lunch the next day. Every meal ordered was a large portion and very good.
Ive been wanting to try this place since i saw it on tiktok and their posts on Instagram, and let me tell you the experience was extraordinary! I called to ask for a table for 2 and the lady was so friendly, we were seated in like 10 mins. The place has a lovely bar vibe thats very suitable for dates! The menu is huge, they had a lot of options. We tried the Trio platter in Appetizers and it was a chefs kiss! Very flavorful and unique especially the mushrooms. We had to pasta plates, PAPPARDELLE AL FUNGHI & SPAGHETTI ALLA MARINARA. The PAPPARDELLE AL FUNGHI was one of the most amazing pastas ive ever had in my life, if you are a truffle mushroom this plate is for you! The Spaghetti was so good as well! The portions are great so we didnt have room for dessert, but i noticed they had great options as well on their menu. Will definitely go again to this place! Vegetarian options: They have a lot of vegetarian options Parking: Free parking on Weekends
Very tasty food especially the magic mushrooms!
Love the pizza and pasta here. The specials are always something to look forward to as well, always something different and delicious. Lasagne specials are next level too - so many layers in the lasagnes!
I loved the entire experience of eating here. They had plenty of vegetarian options, their tiramisu was yummy and their gnocchi was amazing!
Unfortunately, the good food does not make up for the lack of service we received while visiting during valentines dinner last night. We ordered a glass of wine and an appetizer to start, and perhaps having been seated in the very back of the restaurant felt ignored for the rest of the evening. Our waiter checked on us 30 minutes in, surprised our food had not arrived. I ordered another glass of wine, which never came. Our appetizer did not arrive until 45 minutes in, and our mains 5 minutes after that. The food runner did apologize and said they lost our food ticket which I translate as the waiter forgot to punch it in. Food runner offered us fresh pepper and parm, which also... never came. We ate and flagged the food runner to box up our leftovers and get the bill. Oh, The waiter, with our bill! where have you been? no, apologies at all. He awkwardly offered coffee. Of course we dont want coffee, we want to leave. I am usually quite forgiving on busy evenings but this was very disappointing service that with a small amount of attention, transparency and sincerity on the waiters part could have all been averted.
My partner and I love their pizza and we ve ordered takeout many, many times but the first time we went to dine in last week was very disappointing. The tartufo pizza was amazing as usual but when we ordered the chicken parm rosé, the chicken was dry and it had almost no rosé sauce and an overload of tomato sauce instead. We couldnt even tell it did have rosé in there until we asked the manager about the sauce but he just walked away after explaining even though we had expressed our disappointment? We asked our server about it too but he just agreed that he thought there should be more rosé too before shrugging and also walking away. This was our first date night in a while and what was supposed to be a special night fell completely flat. The service was really disappointing and it makes me question if we should even bother with takeout in the future
This is an old spot in St. Clair west, so cozy, Friendly staff, reach food and alsooooooo good cocktails
Extremely lacklustre food. The cacio e pepe risotto was extremely watery, bland and contained no discernible cheese or pepper. The vegetable medley was reminiscent of a frozen mix and prepared with no real finesse. The salmon was decent but well done enough to be dry. The rosemary roasted potatoes were sparingly seasoned, inconsistently cooked and notably lacked rosemary. The mixed drink, mushroom salad and shortrib were pretty good. Its as if the dishes came from two different kitchens. The service was fine, but the discount offered for the poor food was also poor. Especially disappointing because the reviews, photos and descriptions seemed promising but I wouldnt go back again.
I visited Ferro yesterday with a friend, and let me tell you, it was crazy and insanely busy. However, our server Philip managed to squeeze us in and provided us with the best dining experience we could have asked for. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made our visit truly memorable. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and Philips exceptional service truly made our evening. I highly recommend Ferro for a great dining experience!
Outstanding in every way but NOISE levels are VERY HIGH. I could not return for this reason but will order takeout for sure
The food here is amazing, the pizza might be the best I ve had in the city while the pasta tasted fresh and nicely seasoned. The interior is cute and bigger than it looks, where it felt like my party had more than enough room. Having come on a Friday night, the place was packed but not overbearing. Our server was very nice and catered to us in a polite and timely manner. I would come back again.
Everything we ate was good! I love their pizza!
Everything is great, executed perfectly and fantastic portions, with a solid wine and drink list as well! Will be back often!
Awesome food, service and ambiance. Would love to come back.
Unfortunately, Ferros food has changed drastically. I was there with my 2 granddaughters and daughter and all the pasta came with cheese which was not mentioned in the menu. They always gave an option when they served if you want cheese, but NO they put it on top now before serving the pasta to you. Each plate $27.00 and unable to eat. The owner, never gave us an option to remake it, but instead blamed Covid and this is why they put on top before serving. Really? What does that got to do with Covid? Covid has been over 2 years ago. People suffer food allergies, lactose and more. The Pizza also was raw and loaded with cheese and my other granddaughter couldnt eat it. We asked to cook it more and it was burnt around the crust and so disgusting and the cheese was falling off the plate unable to pick up the slice of pizza without all the cheese falling off and left with a soggy dough. Ferro, honestly, I was so disgusted with the food served to us. $140.00 In the trash!! Shame on you Ferro! EVERTHING ABOUT THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTINGLY Gross!!!!! I WILL NEVER RETURN. JUST AWFUL IN EVERY WAY!
Classic St. CLAIR SPOT!!
We came for a Christmas party and the atmosphere was amazing.
This place!! Our daughter took us here for lunch today as a Christmas gift. The atmosphere itself is so cool. Kind of old school Italian meets posh Italiano!! Our waitress was lovely and friendly. We ordered the magic mushrooms trio and my husband and I were just Mmmmmm mmmmm mmmming through the whole dish. Then calamari which was perfection. I usually like my calamari breaded but this one was grilled. Okay yes please!!! That lovely lemon concoction that craddled the squid was divine. When we thought our pallets could not be any more tantalized out came our main dishes. I ordered the pesto linguine. Hubby the veal meatballs and spaghetti and our girl had the ricotta gnocchi. We tested each others dishes and each was equally delightful. This is such a gem and we will be back probably more than once. Thank you.
Best Italian food and service, imo. Been going for years. Great atmosphere and the friendliest staff. A perfect date restaurant. Had a couple celebrations there, too! Highly recommended!
My favourite spot for Italian food in the city! The food is consistent, tasty and always fresh. The service is great and I enjoy it every time I come back. We have celebrated many milestones at Ferro and will continue to do so! A must try for their mushroom toast, pizzas and pastas! Also love their grilled calamari and salads!
I have been there a few time with friends but recently their customer service have been terrible, I went with my family around 3:30pm only 2 tables were occupied and even thought different people saw us there standing and waiting none made visual contact to tell us to wait a few minutes to be seated, even though it was not busy at all.
Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options Wheelchair accessibility: Its a tight turn, but at least the door is at ground level rather than having steps up to it. Food : 5/5 |
We went here for a birthday dinner and were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant quite busy on a Wednesday night! We had a salad, and the pizzas. The little one had a simple tomato and cheese pizza which was delicious! She loved it ! The pizzas here are excellent! The cheese is authentic and perfect for the wood fired pizza. The ingredients used here are high quality and the dough is just perfect in terms of chewiness and doneness. To finish up, we tried the tiramisu. This sounded promising off the menu but we werent a big fan of this dish as it has a toned down flavour where there is a sweet liquor as opposed to a stronger espresso. We also didnt quite get the hazelnut flavour from the dessert. We are definitely going back to Ferro for some great food. It is a lovely neighborhood spot for us and we loved the food.
We came here to dine out for our lowkey wedding anniversary and I have to say everything was absolutely perfect. Started with the Grilled calamari and the appetizer with the bruschetta and the magic mushrooms, I knew we were in for a treat. The magic mushroom is so good, it feels like its sorcery. We then ordered the mushroom pizza and the bufala gnocchi, and once again I was mind blown with the flavors. Huge portions too! Do they give such huge portions anymore anywhere else?! Wow! The Nutella tiramisu was really delicious, just a hint of Nutella, not insanely sweet as I was worried when we ordered it. Overall fantastic experience, kind people and mind blowing food, at really good price point too, feels like pre-pandemic pricing. Thank you Ferro
Great place in the neighborhood. It does get very busy in the evening even during the week. We ordered the pesto cream that was very tasty. As well as a pizza. The pizza could have been cooked more cause it was under done.
Great cozy little Italian place, dishes are all generous portions and made very well, classic but flavourful. Good selection of drinks and great for smaller groups and casual parties. Items are priced very fairly when everything is considered. I give them 8.5/10!
Had a great time at ferro cafe. Food was excellent, service was exceptional. Stone pizza oven really makes some delicious pizzas. 5/5
Food/service/atmosphere/price are excellent, I recommend.
Fantastic meal.
Great food and drinks! 5/5! Don t let the grumpy waitress deter you! She s often like that. Food : 5/5
Familiar, slightly too noisy, cozy restaurant at St. Clair W. Interior design has character. Any small faults compensated by its delicious food (try piato di pesce or the pasta with duck)
Enjoyed my two pizzas from Ferro!
Easily one of the finest Italian Restaurants in Toronto. Outstanding Southern Italian food with wood fired pizza available. The atmosphere is cozy and definitely a happening place. We were there on a Saturday, with resos, good thing because other wise there was no chance to get in. Service was prompt, if a little slow, but big pass here as the restaurant was overflowing with people having a wonderful time. This is an Italian food experience not to be missed. IMHO, it has few equals in the city 9.5/10
Ferro has some dishes that are best-in-the-city level. The pear and prosciutto pizza had a great salty-sweet tastes, generous toppings and a soft-chewy crust. The magic mushrooms lived up to the billing as they somehow made mushrooms and crostini taste mindblowingly good with its garlic seasoning and great crunch. And the tiramisu was velvety smooth and melted in your mouth. Other dishes we got were ok. The octopus had a generous serving of tasty veggies but would have liked more of the octopus itself. The spaghetti ala marinara had good seafood (especially liked the scallop) but would have liked the sauce to have a bit more kick. Service was efficient. Prices were generally reasonable for the taste and portion sizes. Place had a casual vibe. Will definitely go back to try more of their pizzas and sink into that tiramisu again.
Came for lunch and ordered the alla vodka and calabrese pastas, as well as an interesting pizza that had pear on it. We loved the pizza but felt the pastas were oversalted and a little too oily. Pasta noodles had good texture. Lots of seating and very empty for a Saturday around lunch time. We were the only ones there. It sounds like they get busy for dinner service though. Good ambience and service. Kept our waters filled without us asking.
Food: we had the pizza tartufo (sweet black garlic taste-like) and the rigatoni bolognese. We also had the calamari alla griglia. This one was very tasty, cooked to perfection and the salad that came with it was quite good with the dressing they use. Next time we ll be trying the lasagna (which was sold out on a Wednesday night) and the deserts. Service: we went in 2h before close. Waiters looked at the entrance and didn t offer a table immediately. Once in, the service was good. Food came relatively fast. Atmosphere: Cozy. Elegant. Fun vibes
Can you do walk-ins in this restaurant? It seems the only time you can reserve a table is for 3:15 for the next 3 months.
Used to be good, but for the last several months its pretty gross. Their pizza used to be some of the best Ive ever had, but these days you get a burnt, undercooked mess for too much money.
Amazing food. Great flavours. Awesome portion sizes.
Had the Gnocchi Gorgonzola , it was creamy and good . It was missing more of that strong Gorgonzola taste , but it was still good if you prefer a stronger tasting Alfredo sauce. Staff was great and pleasant to deal with, overall I felt that the Gnocchi was over priced for what it is.
A client booked me to deliver some helium balloons, I did stay after for appetizers and a drink Food is amazing. Service and ambience is amazing as well.
The food is good but they get my order wrong every single time I dine in, order pickup or order delivery. Kinda crazy.
Best Italian food on st clair west :)Still!
Way too crowded and noisy. Gratuity added to bill for 6 people was about 22%.
Chicken is halal there
I had the Beef Ribs, and I must say, it was a culinary revelation! The smoked boneless beef short rib was expertly cooked to perfection and generously coated with a delectable bourbon sauce. The herbed mini potatoes served as a delightful accompaniment, offering a comforting balance to the robust and savory flavors of the ribs. The crispy onions provided a satisfying crunch, while the sautéed greens added a refreshing and harmonious touch to the overall dish.
Ma best they are familiar all thingake me relax
Cool
